Christmas in Umbrian Villa, Italy
Introduction
Hi, we are Rosie and Ronan. We are Irish and have been living in Italy for six years. Ronan is retired and I'm a writer. We love it here, however we have family in Ireland, London and the Netherlands which we'd like to visit more often together. But we can't take our three dogs and cat with us. We bought and renovated our house in 2020. It had been derelict for 10 years. It was four apartments and we've made it into one house. We plan to open some rooms as a BnB in 2025 so all the rooms and bathrooms have been done up to a reasonable standard. :) We are a little bit flexible on the September dates as it is a road trip we are taking. We are beside beautiful Lake Trasimeno and a short walk along the lakeshore will take you to a lively little town, the train station is just a couple of minutes walk from the house with direct trains to Perugia and Florence. There are supermarkets and restaurants all within a short walk.

The house has 20 rooms over 3 floors. We have a modern kitchen you can use, a sitting room with a library of books and a TV with Netflix and other channels. There is a bathroom on each floor and you will have a bedroom with a double bed. We have a large courtyard and a nice big garden. The front garden is next to busy-ish road and the train runs nearby. It is not a noisy place, but the house is not isolated either. We are beside beautiful Lake Trasimeno and a short walk along the lakeshore will take you to a lively little town and historic centre with bars and restaurants. The train station is just a couple of minutes walk from the house with direct trains to Perugia and Florence. There are supermarkets and restaurants all within a short walk and there is a cycle/walking path all around the lake, it's a beautiful area!

Our pets are really easy to take care of. We have a big back garden and while Paddy and Looney appreciate a walk down the lane to the lake, it is not necessary during your stay unless you really want to. Juno is the hyper baby of the group and loves playing in the garden but she hates the lead and doesn't go on walks. So since her arrival we have to walk the other two separately so Juno isn't left alone. They are all house pets so you need to let them in and out. Spooky sleeps in the house too. All pets get along. We do cook chicken for the dogs and will leave some ready. But you will need to cook some chicken or minced beef for them during your stay. They have treats in the mornings and afternoons and their main dinner at around 5pm. Looney is an old girl and sleeps a lot. They all have free run of the house and sleep inside. So it's really just being here to let them in and out, feed them and make sure they have water. They can be left for a few hours on their own in the house.
