Our home is a typical Charantaise country house set in a private garden in the hamlet of Le Peux, Londigny. It is tranquil and alive with birdsong all year round. The roads are very quiet so walking and cycling are safe activities. There is a busy auberge/pub, traditional french restaurant, boulangerie and post office 20 minutes walk from the house and next door to us is a beautiful Neo Gothic chateau. The small market town of Ruffec is 8kms away and has a market twice a week and all amenities. Our home comprises of a large living room with kitchen area, dining area and access to a large terrace. It has central heating throughout and a woodburner in the lounge. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, fitted oven, gas hob, microwave and airfryer. There is a utility room with freezer and washing machine. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with toilet and basin and a quiet room/study for those who might need to work from home. On the first floor there are 2 double bedrooms, a single bedroom currently used as a music studio and a shower room with toilet and basin. There is a TV in the lounge, UK tv can be accessed and there is Fibre Internet access. There are 2 electric bikes and one manual bike for sitters who want to cycle. The N10 is 8kms away giving easy access by car to Poitiers and Angouleme and the Atlantic coast. Car hire is available nearby. Use of our 2nd car can be discussed but sitters would need to arrange their own insurance for the duration of the stay. The town of Cognac is only 45 minutes by car, there are also many local vineyards and producers of fine wine and Pineau (exclusive to the Cognac region) nearby. The rail network is accessed at Ruffec for trains to the beautiful city of Angouleme, Bordeaux and Paris. The area is served by 4 regional airports, Poitiers, Limoges, La Rochelle and Bordeaux.
