French Alpine Farmhouse

Introduction

We are a couple who love the outdoors and mountain sports. Our home allows us to spend the maximum amount of time in the mountains and the countryside. We need a sitter when we go away in our camper van to help look after our diabetic cat (needs a liquid medicine in some food every day but no injections) and to check on our horses. Maddy is a very young horse but is very well trained and behaved. Friends are nearby to help if needed and we have the details of a groom who can come if needed.

Home & location

The house is an old alpine farmhouse in the valley of Le Petit Bornand Les Glières. The views from the house are amazing. The first floor consists of a large farmhouse kitchen, two double bedrooms with en suites, a cozy lounge and a garden room where you can enjoy a BBQ and admire the view in complete privacy. Wifi and British TV. There are lots of places to visit and explore in the region plus the walking/climbing is spectacular. September is often one of the most beautiful months to visit the alps as the autumn leaves will have started to colour. We are 30mins from Geneva airport. You are welcome to bring your own car or it is possible we can arrange use of one of our cars.

Responsibilities

Feed and give medicine to Teddy (cat). He will appreciate having some time with you but he is also quite introverted so is happy to be hidden away. Evenings are his favourite time to interact and cuddle with you while you watch tv or read. Check the horses each day. There is a good chance they will be out at grass while we’re away so you will need to check them twice a day and give them their vitamins.
