We have a beautiful, large period house built in the early 1800’s (brick and flint) situated in a picturesque village surrounded by stunning countryside. It is one of a series of pretty villages with lots of walks and great pubs but with all the facilities of Andover just ten minutes away. The house has a large gravel driveway with wisteria and climbing roses on the front of the property. It has a characterful walled garden and the grounds are enclosed at the back making it easy for Archie, our Labrador, to wander safely outside. We have direct access onto footpaths and fields where you can be on the famous Test Way. You would be staying in the guest bedroom with an ensuite shower room (with access to a bath if need be from another bathroom). The village has a shop, cafe and old church (all walkable). It is set in the Bourne Valley in an area of outstanding beauty just south of Highclere where Downton Abbey was filmed. A few minutes drive down into the nearby village of St Mary Bourne there is a local cafe/shop overlooking the cricket ground and a good place to walk Archie. Winchester and Salisbury are about 30 minutes drive away, both with their famous cathedrals. The pretty market town of Stockbridge is twenty minutes drive with small local shops and a few great cafes with walks onto the water meadows. There are lots of great dog friendly pubs in the area. A couple of national trust properties are also in reach (Mottisfont and The Vyne) as well as Stonehenge and Avebury. The countryside is simply beautiful and you can walk dir3ectly from the house onto the fields behind for easy daily adventures with Archie.
