It was a pleasure to have Cindy care for my cat Stella while I was away on an unexpected last-minute trip. Cindy sent frequent updates and photos, which provided a great comfort to me since I had only been home from a long trip 3 days before suddenly having to leave again. Stella seemed quite comfortable with Cindy's company! I returned home to a relaxed kitty and tidy apartment. Thank you, Cindy!

Quiet, reliable and responsible cat (and small dog) lady
This was our first time using a Trusted Sitter, and I'm so grateful Elena chose to stay with our precious pup. He's a senior dog that requires a little extra attention, and Elena was so kind and caring with him. From our very first zoom call to get to know one another, I knew Elena would be a great fit. She was very organized, told us what she needed to know, and was very flexible when our dates changed a bit. Elena sent several pictures of Beamer every day. My kids eagerly awaited to see what their brother was up to while we were away. He looked so happy in all of his pictures. She took him for walks and gave him plenty of cuddle time. Elena also took such great care of our home. We arrived back to a spotless house! Our experience with Elena was more than I could have hoped for using Trusted Sitter. It was like having an old friend stay over. I highly recommend Elena, and hope she will be available to stay the next time we go on vacation!

Once again, Todd and Janis were wonderful sitters. They were easy to communicate with, sent adorable photos, and took great care of our home.

I've lost track of the number of times Jasmine has house sit for us. As always she is reliable and responsive. I know my house and pets are in good hands with her. She is a great communicator. We came home to a clean house and happy kitties. I highly recommend her!

Traveling professional with a love for new experiences!
Sharon was just a wonderful sitter. She has an engaging, positive personality and is full of energy. We were happy with the updates and photos of 2 content Goldens, whether on a trail or chilling by her feet. It is so wonderful to go away knowing your fur babies are loved and cared for in their own home. Will need to come up with a trip so we can invite this special lady back.

Wanna-be dog mama wants to pamper your pup(s!)
This is Tammy’s second time here . The house is so neat and clean when we get home/ cleaner than when we left . Piper and Willow are hoping she comes back again !

Dependable animal lover excited to care for your fur babies and your home.
Terry was great to work with and great at communicating every step of the way. He has the experience to know what questions to ask, and went the extra mile to work with our travel schedule when we were dialing in dates and times. I could tell he was a pro at making our two dogs feel comfortable and well taken-care of. We returned to find two happy dogs and our place just the way we left it - only maybe even a bit cleaner!

Complete Peace of Mind While You Travel: Loving Care for Your Pets and Home
Maeve was very communicative and kept us updated on our pups and house during her stay. Prior to her visit, she was very organized with a list of questions so she was well informed before she arrived. The dogs seemed happy and well cared for while we were gone. Recommend her to others.

Experienced animal loving solo traveler. Reliable and clean. Non-smoking.
Olive can be a bit shy with some new people but April quickly won her love. Can’t thank April enough for her care of Olive and our home. Great communication, left our place clean and tidy with a very happy pup. Would love to have her again anytime. Thank you, April!

Reliable and trustworthy pet lovers
Abby and Matt were so easy to work with and we immediately felt comfortable with them in our home and with our beloved fur babies. They were communicative and clear leading up to the visit. They stopped by our place the evening before the sit started to meet our pets and get the lay of the land. During the visit, they sent just the right amount of updates and photos to give us peace of mind. We returned to a clean home and happy pets and plants. Abby even agreed to change my hummingbird food a couple of times to keep our feathered friends happy and safe. I’d recommend them for anyone looking for friendly, responsible pet sitters.
Chris was an outstanding pet sitter and I would definitely use him again! He is reliable, responsible, and thorough. I was able to FaceTime Chris prior to the sit and he spent a lot of time answering and asking questions. I felt confident after speaking with him. Throughout the weekend, Chris communicated clearly through texting. He let me know when he arrived and left which was helpful. He also sent photos and updates of both my cats. My boy cat has occasional anxiety issues which cause UTI's. Andy had a flare up while I was away and Chris was very attentive to him and let me know how he was doing. Chris did not seem to mind taking extra care of him which I very much appreciate. Chris left my house clean and even washed the sheets and towels he used before leaving!
Anna was an excellent sitter - she took great care to understand all of the intricacies of taking care of the house and cats, asked lots of questions, and arrived on time and ready for the sit. During the trip, she checked in with updates, and upon returning home, left the space tidy and clean. The cats were happy and healthy, and seemed to have had a great time during the sit. Thanks Anna!
Becca was fantastic - we cannot say enough about how great she is as a pet and house sitter and as a human being! Becca committed to the sit 8 months in advance and was great with her responsiveness in communication during the long lead up to the sit. She arrived early and got the low downs on the animals and house stuff prior to us leaving. She woke up crazy early to help us get to the airport and picked us up when we returned, which made the traveling so much easier on our end. She left the house spot-less (and this is no exaggeration), with the linens cleaned, and a wonderful meal waiting for us upon our return. She is an absolute gem of a person with a great sense of humor and a kind and compassionate nature, and she really enjoys the animals in her care. Our dog and cat were very well cared for and totally at ease upon our return. If you are lucky enough to have Becca sit for you, you will be very pleased at how well she does the job!
Joi did a wonderful job caring for my two cats and two guinea pigs, as well as caring for my home! She is coming back in November for a long sit while I am out of the country and we all can’t wait. Joi had experience with rabbits and jumped right in with guinea pig care. She is so calm around them that they were sitting on her lap day one! She spent time preparing their vegetables and kept their enclosure and room clean, which requires daily effort. She even washed the floor mats in their room so it was fresh when I returned home. She went above and beyond sending me daily photos and videos so I could see that everyone was healthy and happy. It was apparent to me that she spent a lot of time with my pets, which is very important so they don’t become stressed and lonely when I am away. Joi also took excellent care of my two cats. They receive daily wet food with some medication and she ensured that they received it on time. My cats barely noticed when I returned because they got so much attention from Joi. She took excellent care of my front garden flowers and my tomato and herb hydroponic gardens. These take some daily attention and time in the summer, and I returned home to them looking great! Joi is a very caring, clean, and thoughtful sitter and I hope she comes back many more times!
Wow! Just wow! We cannot say enough about the care and compassion Trisha and John provided to our cats and our home. We are always somewhat nervous about a new pet sitter in our home, but that all faded when we met this wonderful couple. They provided daily updates as requested, complete with pictures, videos and personalized captions. Upon our return, we were greeted by happy and content kitties. There was no sign of anxiety in Tika! Yea!!! Our home was clean, the sheets and towels were washed and bed remade! They even left behind thank you notes and little gifts! What a breath of fresh air these two individuals are! We hope to have them back again soon.
Kathy and Ron arrived at our home with a most fantastical toy for our cats and a giant apple pie. Need I say more? They are very experienced sitters and brought personal items that they prefer. We knew we were leaving out cats in good hands. A large part of their 'job' was hand watering our garden and Ron took that in stride. Everything is thriving. Our cats are usually distant with new people but we received photos of them keeping Kathy and Ron company in various situations which was reassuring. They clearly won our cats over. Although Ron and Kathy had a ferry to catch on their last day, they took time to wash their linens and hang them on the clothesline. They also left us a gorgeous plant for our garden. We would very much like to have them back for a longer sit if possible.
Toby and Chloe were one of the best house sitters we have ever had! As a small animal vet I have seen many types of pet sitters and these guys are top notch. Our pets are not easy either. We have special needs dogs, cats on medication, dogs with behavioral issues, horses, chickens, goats and a large (100 lb) Sulcata tortoise who needed close monitoring of the temperature in his barn. Everyone was thriving and happy when we came home. They read through the packet and asked thorough, thoughtful questions. They went above and beyond grooming, mucking and grazing the horses and goats everyday. They chopped greens and fruit daily for our tortoise. If we had known how amazing they were we would have booked a 3 week trip instead! Can't recommend them enough.
Elyse was one of the best pet sitters we've ever met! Couldn't recommend her more. We hope she stays at our place again. She sent many pictures of our beloved cats throughout our absence. We returned to our cats seeming relaxed and happy as ever. She also left our apartment sparkling clean. 10/10 :)
Oh wow! Everyone should be so lucky to have Nicholas and Veerle watch their house and pets. These lovely people are pros! They communicated early and often, were super accommodating to some last minute changes (it was originally going to be only our cats to watch but we decided to keep the dog home as well so that added to the schedule and care needs) and they left the house spotless and all set up for another sitter who came in after them. We didn’t get the chance to meet because my departure and arrival times but I dearly hope I get to in the future because they were just great! I even heard how nice they were from My neighbors who say them out walking our dog. :-) They also sent regular pictures of the pets which look like pro-photography! Cannot recommend this couple enough! Your pets and house will be in good hands!
Tonya was great and filled in after our other sitter had to cancel. She was very self sufficient and navigated acclimating herself to everything since she arrived after we left. She gave thoughtful updates on my cat and I could tell she really enjoyed her, so that means the world to me! She left the place immaculate and we will certainly have Tonya back!

Dexter is our 1 year old+ baby. He is a Mountain Curr Dalmatian mixed with high energy. The staff knows how to handle those particular breeds. He takes a 15 minute break every hour to calm him down, we use that same technique at home with great results.
I was so grateful for the staff (especially Rachel) that provided a personalized care for our dog and kept us up to date on everything with our dog. They were so accommodating when we ran into issues while on vacation and running late for pickup. It truly made me believe that the staff really cared about the dogs and their families and that they’re not just a business that only cares about the bottom line. We’ll definitely bring Milo back for boarding and daycare needs.
The staff are all so great and love my dog like their own. The prices are high but worth it every once in awhile
I am extremely disappointed with Dogtopia and feel compelled to share my experience. First and foremost, the way they treat their employees is appalling. The management is a complete mess—poorly organized and seemingly indifferent to both staff and dogs. The facility is overcrowded with dogs, far beyond what the space can accommodate safely. There aren't even enough crates, forcing them to improvise in ways that seem unsafe and uncomfortable for the dogs. The worst part is how they handle the dogs' basic needs. They allow the dogs to pee and poop inside the room rather than taking them outside for walks, leaving the employees to clean up the mess. This is not only unhealthy for the dogs but also unfair and unsanitary for the staff. It adds unnecessary extra work that could easily be avoided with proper care and attention. On top of all this, they are severely understaffed, which only exacerbates the problems. It’s clear that Dogtopia doesn't care about the safety or well-being of the dogs or their employees. I would strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere for dog care. This place is a disaster!
We just started coming to Dogtopia in Fredericksburg and you can tell the love right away. They are a franchise and this one is a cut above the rest. Our dog loves it and they have great structure set in place to keep the dogs safe, happy, and even have activities planned like the doggy art in which our pup did a painting by licking peanut butter off a ziplock which had a canvas with paint on it. He loves spending time with the dog coaches and his doggy friends.
We take our girl to dogtopia and she LOVES it there. She doesn't want to go home when I pick her up 🤣 I love that they have cameras for you to watch and they always doing a fun event. They have boarded my dog once, no problems. I would highly recommend this doggy daycare to anyone.
My 2 year old goldendoodle comes home relaxed and tuckered out and the staff is great at providing updates and I trust that they provide him with support and attention while he is in their care.
My four year mini schnauzer was well taken care of and happy while boarding at Dogtopia. He met other schnauzers and enjoyed playing with his new friends. I recommend Dogtopia in Fredericksburg, Virginia to all dog owners.
Treats employees badly as I have seen interactions with associates. The facility is often over extended and places employees in harms way as they are understaffed. I have witnessed that there is not enough space for dogs and often run out of crates. I would rather go to smaller facility where the dog is not just the almighty dollar... Addition: to response .... I didnt expect any less but snarky lack of accountability response . People are able to see with their eyes and hear interactions ... It is truly not a shocker that you brush off any unfavorable feedback! Try checking your database again ... As a business person maybe try being respectful and kind to others it goes along way to customers and associates. I provided honest feedback sorry it may have been a little too much for you :( I really dislike bullies and I think its important to highlight those experiences to improve .
I have been to a few different dogtopia franchises and this is by far the best location I’ve been to. We moved here from CA and my boys love it! They are so caring and attentive, which is not always the case. I love that they have so many events through the week to tire the pups out. I have 2 very high energy boys (goldendoodle and lab) and there’s never a day they come home and are still insane lol. Pickups are VERY busy, but organized. Drop off is easy and fairly seamless. The team is communicative if anything happens.
I was a bit scared to leave my "velcro" dog with someone else....but since we moved away from the kids.....we had to use Lisa's Bed and Biscuit... Our first choice doesn't return phone calls or emails anymore....so we were stuck and our trip was coming up... Fortunately Lisa's came through for us.....and I think our craigs list Tea cup Chihuahua that weighs 50 lbs....I think she grew up a bit
She charged us for 3 days when we dropped our dog off at 7 pm Friday and picked up a 6 on Sunday. Very hard to get in contact of would not recommend!
Great experience with Lisa’s Bed & Biscuit. Left my dog there while out of town for the weekend. He usually comes home stressed from boarding but he seemed right at home at Lisa’s. Will be using again and would recommend to others!
We recently boarded our 15 year old pit bull with vestibular disease with Lisa. Initially, he was going to come with us, but we realized the ride to the Keys was just going to be too much for him. We met Lisa and her employee that I cannot remember the name of. I see some reviews on here say Lisa is rude, and I disagree. From my years of experience with digs, true dog people are a different kind of people. The impression that I was left with was that she (and her staff member) would take great care of my dog and loves dogs. Initially, Sammy was boarded in the kennel behind her house with another senior dog. Honestly, I see where someone complained about this too, but for Sam, this was perfect. A kennel is a high stress environment for most dogs. This was perfect in that it was a quieter set up-just because a dog is put here does not mean they are checked on any less. We were welcomed to leave him with home items (I am a ridiculous dog mom, so I brought his bed, blanket, raised food bowl, food, medications, and a dog ice cream for each day) and check in on him by phone (which I did). When we got back to pick him up, she had moved him closer to her (since he has a little anxiety about being by himself). For a young dog with a lot of energy, this may not be the place, but for a senior dog, Lisa’s is perfect.
I’ve been bringing my German Shepard here for over a year now. Lisa and her staff are great with him! I’m so grateful I found this kennel. Highly recommend Lisa’s!
I left my 2 dogs with Lisa for 5 days. My fur-babies are both seniors, one is almost 21 and the other is 14. I had never boarded them before so this was a new experience for them. I was especially nervous about leaving my older dog, as he is blind and deaf. I was able to tour her facility before making my decision. Lisa made me feel comfortable and I knew they would be very well taken care here.I was very pleased with the cleanliness and her true compassion and professionalism. She answered all my questions and I felt really good about it. I was able to call and check on them and she was always very nice and let me know how they were. Five days later, when I picked them up, I couldn’t be happier. They were given the utmost care and love, that was obvious. I definitely recommend Bed & Biscuit for quality dog boarding with someone who will most certainly care for your dogs as if they were her own.
Lisa is very nice and knowledgeable about dogs. She cared for our furchildren like they were her own. We have an anxious GSD and he went willing to Lisa and did not get scared. We worry because he feels like he has to guard everything but he was safe and comfortable at Lisa's Bed and Biscuit. Our pups shared a suite because they get along. The suit was clean, spacious, and even had a patio. 😃 We have already scheduled another stay for them!
My first experience boarding my dog, because my dog does not usually have exposure to many dogs. He dislikes large dogs due to being attacked. Lisa ensured he was not placed directly next to any larger dogs that would trigger him for the stay. I liked that she offered 1 on 1 play time as my dog is also a loner sometimes and does his own thing. Out many times a day in a spacious area of the property. We were able to bring any of his items to make him feel comfortable. Will use again.
My dogs been here few times now and I know I don't have to worry about them at all. Lisa is so nice with all pups. My dogs feel pretty comfortable with her. I couldn't have asked for a better place for them
Lisa is a very caring individual who runs an outstanding kennel. Bright and clean with a large play yard for the dogs. I routinely took my Golden Retriever Tolkein there over many years. Even as he got on in years (17 years old) Lisa took care of him (there will be a charge for medications). My daughter's dog has been there many times as well. Call in advance as they book up months in advance. This review is based on 12+ stays over many years.
I can't recommend Pampered Pets by Kat enough!! I recently left my dog, Pumpkin, in her care for a week while I was on vacation, and the experience exceeded my expectations. From the moment I dropped Pumpkin off, I felt confident that she was in great hands. Kat is incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive. She clearly loves animals and takes the time to understand each pets individual needs. Pumpkin has some specific dietary requirements and a bit of separation anxiety, but she handled everything with care and patience. She provided regular updates, including photos, which gave me and my daughter peace of mind while we were away. The facilities are clean, spacious, and filled with toys and activities that kept Pumpkin entertained. She came home happy, healthy, and we could tell she was well taken care for. The pricing is reasonable for the level of service provided, and the customer service was top-notch from start to finish. If you're looking for a trustworthy, loving place to leave your dog, Kat is the perfect choice! I'll definitely be using her again in the future.
Kat is simply amazing! Not only does my dog love her house so much that he never wants to leave when I come to pick him up, but she also really comes through when you need her (if she can). My ac went out tonight and I have a Mini Aussie that does not handle the heat very well. I texted her tonight and she's taking my guy tomorrow morning and keeping him until the ac is fixed. I don't have family or friends in the immediate area so it's a relief to have someone that you can depend on in a pinch. I'm very particular about who I leave my "best man" with and I never have any concerns when he's with Kat.
Best pet boarding ever. Kat is friendly and trustworthy. My doggo has a great time when he is here! The backyard is a doggy paradise.
Omg I could not have asked for a better boarder! She really took care of our pups, especially during 4th of July. She had tons of activities for them as well as treats to keep them busy. She made sure they felt safe and loved. Kat would even give us photo updates of their days! She really went above and beyond for us! I appreciate everything that she did for us and our pups!! Recommend HIGHLY!
Excellent care for my doggie. Couldn't ask for a more trustworthy person to take care of our furry family member. Regular picture updates as well.
Can’t say enough great things about this service. They are profession, prompt, and very well organized. You get a photo and report after each pet service to reassure you that your gut baby is doing well in your absence.
The best around! Wouldn't send my dogs anywhere else!!
My husband and I have used Critter Sitter twice now for our four cats (including one cat who is blind and needs daily medication), and we are thrilled with the care our cats receive. Lisa and her team are professional and caring, and we especially like getting photos from their daily visits. The online portal makes it easy to schedule visits and update information. We will definitely continue to use Critter Sitter in the future, and we highly recommend them!
Best pet sitter you could ever ask for! This is the second year we have used Critter Sitter of VA and I don't think I can rave enough. Super impressed by their organization, professionalism, and genuine care for our pets. It's refreshing to be able to travel and not have to worry about your babies because they genuinely want what is best for you and your sweeties. We have hired them for home drop-in visits for our smaller pets that are sensitive with transport and boarding for our dogs. Both options worked out great. All services are tailored to your and your pet's needs. Your babies will be treated like family here. When we come back home everyone is happy and stress free-including me. So thankful to have found Lisa/Critter Sitter of VA.
Lisa's home was clean, warm, and friendly. She sent us photos of our babies while away. They were able to play and relax with her and her family. We will be using her again for future stays away from home!👍👍 …
Lisa and her team are the best and most reliable pet-sitting/walking service in town! We use her every day for a mid-day play session for our dogs while we’re at work. Her prices are reasonable and make this service possible for us. Our dogs love her and we couldn’t be more grateful! She’s also always been so flexible with our changing schedules and needs, and has never once cancelled on us. For nearly 2 years I think! We highly recommend Critter Sitter of VA for any sitting/walking/boarding needs, you will not be disappointed!
We are so lucky to have found Lisa. We have been able to travel more since finding them. We don’t have to worry about or four legged babies because I know that they are well cared for. We have a dog that needs daily medication and I don’t have to stress out about him getting them. They are truly the best and Toby, Waffles and Raven love them as much as we do.
Our first time leaving our 3 pups alone for an extended time and overnight with a professional dog sitter. In the past we have used boarding as our option but the pups would come back anxious, nervous, and it would take days to get them back to thier happy selves. We are beyond happy with Critter Sitters! We recieved updates and pictures with every visit that was made. Tiffany played with them and took such amazing care of our little loved ones. She really put our concerns to rest from the moment she came in the door. If there was a rating of more stars we would happily give it. Thank you CS for loving our little family in our absence!
I am so very disappointed in Critter Sitter of VA LLC. I entrusted them with boarding my two dogs, a 22lb Schnauzer mix and a 15lb Chihuahua/Dachshund mix (Chiweenie), for 12 days at owner Lisa Stacy’s home while I was out of town. Prior to this stay both pups had boarded at Lisa’s home for one trial overnight and it seemed to work out. But this second, extended stay, was considerably different. When I dropped the pups off I provided their bedding and blankets, some toys, food, water bowls, snacks, and a 15 day supply of soft/wet food and considerably more than 15 days’ dry kibble. During their stay I would text, or message using the Precise Petcare app, occasionally asking how the pups were doing and if I could get a picture or two of them. The responses were sporadic stating “the boys are doing good” and I did get pictures on 2 days of their 12 day stay. However what I was confronted with when I picked them up and brought them home was heartbreaking and brought me to tears. The Schnauzer mix had lost 1/2 lb which for an almost two week stay away from home I believe would normally be reasonable and understandable. But the Chiweenie had lost 1.25lbs – almost a 10% weight loss in 12 days – and his poor ribs were showing! I was not advised about their weight loss while I was away and it was pretty obvious Lisa was aware of it because she stated when I picked them up that the Chiweenie was getting pretty skinny. Also, the Schnauzer mix had some wounds under his right eye that were red, puffy and crusty, obviously infected, which required cleaning and antibiotic cream when I got him home. I was not told of this injury nor do I believe Lisa was even aware of it. In addition, based on the appearance and massive size of the bowel movements of the Schnauzer mix immediately upon arriving home, I believe he had not had a recent potty break and had possibly not been eating his own food. And finally, I expected to get a bit of their food supply back since I had provided more than was really needed. I did receive 3 days’ worth of wet food but to my surprise the dry kibble container was completely empty. There was absolutely no way those two pups ate all that kibble in 12 days! And if they did eat it all, why had they lost weight? I don’t believe my pups were eating their own food exclusively or fed appropriately, nor were they monitored and attended to humanely. I was never advised of their deteriorating conditions. Yes, I did notify Lisa via email and through the Precise Petcare app of these concerns the day after I returned – three days later I have yet to receive a reply but I did receive my invoice this morning which I have paid. Needless to say, I will never be using Critter Sitter of VA LLC again nor can I in good conscience recommend their services. [pictures attached]
We've been using Critter Sitter of VA for years now! We started out with Lisa visiting our cats during the day because we both worked long hours and knew our babies needed some love. She would come over and play with them and give them the love and attention they needed. <3 Since then, we've moved away to Culpeper, but we still bring our dog (Zeus) to her to board whenever we're going out of town for the day or on vacation. Zeus absolutely loves it there and doesn't even want to go home when we go to pick him up, haha!! He has so much fun over there and we know he's in great hands getting lots of play time with the other dogs. It also makes us feel great to know that Lisa has been doing this for so long and is licensed, so we know we can trust he is in good hands. :)
Lisa was very quick to respond to my initial request as well as answering all of my questions regarding how the process works. She sent several photos and updates. I would use her again and recommend her as well!
What a relief to finally find a reliable and competent pet and house sitter! Tiffany did a great job with my cat while my dog and I went camping for 12 days. I had peace of mind and a smile from the photos she sent every day. She went above and beyond expectations when she watered my garden as well as my house plants.
