Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

I'm delighted to have found Lisa as a sitter and hope to have her back again! She was detail oriented and clearly cared about my cats' well being. She asked good questions about the cats' routines and needs and about the house to be sure she'd meet my expectations and have a comfortable and successful sit. She communicated very well before and throughout the sit and even though I was unreachable for much of the time I was confident everyone was in good hands. Lisa left the house in immaculate condition and the cats were relaxed and happy when I got home. What a delight!
Cung is a diligent and communicative cat sitter and house guest, and we'd highly recommend him! We hope to have him back again soon
Susan and Miranda are amazing! I've had the pleasure of working with many sitters and they are truly exceptional. They were great at keeping in touch, sent lots of updates, asked good questions, really bonded with the cats, clearly very experienced working with animals and understanding their needs, and generally lovely to deal with. They were really patient putting up with a whole bunch of deliveries and even assembled a spare bed! They also left the place spotless with clean sheets on the bed. I'm pretty sure the cats loved Susan and Miranda more than us by the end of their stay! I'd highly recommend them to anyone and would love to have them stay again any time.
Sabre is a sweet, honest person who stepped up at the very last moment (after the prior sitter flaked out) to watch our dog and cat for 17 days. When there were a couple minor accidents, she informed us of them right away. One involved a burnt pan (easy to do if you’re not familiar with an induction stovetop) which she offered to replace. Sabre also washed the towels and sheets, and made up the bed before we got home. The yard was pooper scooped and litter box was clean. Pets seemed well-cared for. When she had to leave town for several hours one day, she made sure to arrange for our neighbor take care of the pets. Additionally, I appreciated how she didn’t assume that it would be ok to bring her cat. When we found out she was going to keep her cat in a kennel during her stay here, we told her she could bring him which worked out fine. Overall, I would confidently recommend Sabre to watch your pets and house.
Lindsey was super communicative, friendly, responsible, and an excellent sitter for our two cats. When we returned, our home was clean and our cats relaxed and happy as if we had never left ! She sent us photos and updates every day, as requested, and when a random mishap occurred in the apartment, she let us know right away and was proactive in handling issue. We felt like both our cats and our home were in very caring, capable and respectful hands. Excellent! Thank you Lindsey!
Wow, what a find Justin is! I feel as though I won a lottery. As I was revelling in the communication we were having during his stay, I looked over his profile and realized either that he had updated it during his stay OR I never even read it. I was so impressed with his initial application that described multiple stays taking care of cats in Turkey that I knew he was going to be a great choice. So I'm not sure that I even read his profile or reviews. Turned out...he was more than I could have EVER hoped for. Justin is VERY organized and clear with his communication. Just as--or maybe more--important, he is a poster child for what zeewoi can be: more than just an economical way to get a pet sitter or a place to stay. Justin embraces the barter economy and the opportunity it presents to get to know people. Although we only met the day that I turned the house and my 2 cats over to his care, we had delightful communication throughout his stay. He wanted to be sure he was providing the right care to all living and non-living elements of my home as well as just chat beyond what we'd had an opportunity to cover when we were face to face on the handoff day. Bottom line: I'd have Justin back even if I wasn't going anywhere! I've met a friend. And my neighbors did as well! Oh yes, and my two cats were well looked after, the house was in ship shape, and Justin was able to brief the next sitter in person (I'd had to extend my time away and Justin already had another commitment). To say I felt confident leaving my pets and home in Justin's care is an understatement. Justin is a real adventurer and believer in the power of both human and animal connection. Without a doubt, I would recommend him as a sitter...and a friend! Thank you, Justin for a great example of how to wrestle so much more meaning out of zeewoi.
Kathy and Ron arrived at our home with a most fantastical toy for our cats and a giant apple pie. Need I say more? They are very experienced sitters and brought personal items that they prefer. We knew we were leaving out cats in good hands. A large part of their 'job' was hand watering our garden and Ron took that in stride. Everything is thriving. Our cats are usually distant with new people but we received photos of them keeping Kathy and Ron company in various situations which was reassuring. They clearly won our cats over. Although Ron and Kathy had a ferry to catch on their last day, they took time to wash their linens and hang them on the clothesline. They also left us a gorgeous plant for our garden. We would very much like to have them back for a longer sit if possible.
Jinnie was an excellent house sitter for me and my cat Felix. Completely responsible and reliable and helpfully flexible. She was willing to work with me as I dithered on whether I was actually going to go on my trip (which was dependent on good weather), and when I finally decided on making my trip one day shorter. House was clean and organized on my return, and, more importantly, my cat was calm and relaxed on my return. I would happily have Jinnie come sit for me and Felix again.
Ann Marie was an excellent house sitter who went above and beyond. She flew in a day early and stayed at a local hotel so we she could meet my cat and get the keys before my early flight the next morning. When I returned, she and Tryke were best friends and the house was immaculate. She even washed the sheets and towels, and remade the bed. I strongly recommend Ann Marie for any future sits!
Tonya was great and filled in after our other sitter had to cancel. She was very self sufficient and navigated acclimating herself to everything since she arrived after we left. She gave thoughtful updates on my cat and I could tell she really enjoyed her, so that means the world to me! She left the place immaculate and we will certainly have Tonya back!
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Zeewoi.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $15/week per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Zeewoi.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Zeewoi cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
Awesome facility .. feels like home, with indoor/outdoor suites for the dogs that don't feel cagelike. Indoors the suites extend into a living room like area. Outside is a big fenced play area. Professionally run with ability to provide individualized attention because it's small, not a big dog care warehouse. Our dogs were able to stay together in a good sized suite. Price is good too. A number of really big dogs - definitely a perfect place for large dogs. Our dogs were well cared for on a long stay, and we can definitely recommend!
Colonial Newfoundland Rescue is here. Donna is doing incredible work finding forever homes for these wonderful gentle Giants. The whole team do such a great job of interviewing families and checking out homes. They even helped us be patient when one dog was likely a bad fit with our multi-dog family. Our Freya has already settled in and is enjoying touring the house and finding willing belly scratchers everywhere she goes.
I am a local veterinarian and I board my dogs with Golden Retreat. They are always excited when we pull up and want to run back to their suite (and then out back to play). Over the years my dogs have received excellent care. From a veterinarian's perspective, the folks at Golden Retreat have always recognized and sought care for the occasional medical issue they have noticed in a boarder. Having such a high quality boarding facility in the area is one of the reasons I do not feel the need to offer boarding at our nearby veterinary hospital.
Golden Retreat for K9s is a great place for my dogs to stay when I leave town. I can leave them with confidence knowing that they are well taken care of. My two goldens get to stay together in a large room with their own door to a fenced in outdoor area. The rooms are large and clean. The owner, Donna, is clearly a dog lover and loves what she does.
Tom and Donna are the best! They are good with your pet and care for them. They are wonderful people who will give your pet some of the best care while you are out and about.
Met with the owner to see the place for my dogs to stay while going on vacation. The price is very affordable, the rooms are very spacious, plenty of room for the dogs to run in, the fenced in area.
Great place for boarding your dogs. Very professional, caring, friendly staff and owners. Separate indoor/outdoor pens.
Always a great experience, I always feel our dogs will get the best care here.
Great facility. Our dogs do well with Donna and her team.
Always have a great experience here. Boarding, grooming and big dog rescue!
Sandy does a great job with boarding and working with dogs! We actually met her through the adoption of our dog with the Collie Rescue, which is one of the organizations Sandy works with. Our dog Lexi was extremely well cared for and LOVES …
They also take such wonderful care of our dogs. Good communication and reasonable prices. You can tell that Sandy knows and loves dogs and she can handle our dogs better than we can. Always great to know that our dogs are in good hands.
I had my 2 big dogs boarded here this past weekend and I will never get them boarded anywhere else while I live in the area. Sandy let my dogs get acclimated, and brought another dog out after mine got a little comfortable to introduce before I left. There is lots of land for the dogs to run around, all fenced in of course. My aussie mix is a handful and Sandy had no issues with him. Sandy was wonderful, listened to whatever allergies/issues my dogs had, and took very good care of my dogs. When I drove in to pick them up, they were playing in her backyard happy as could be.
The property is lovely and secure, dogs have an extensive area in which to run/ play or just relieve themselves. The owner is a true dog person. The only concerns/ issues in my experience is when the owners are away; on a hot day when we left our dog, a substitute dog staff did intake, and then our dog was put in an crate in an area off the main house which had several large dogs already barking, and it seemed warmer than "air conditioned." The yard area was not clear of doggie doo. Upon pickup three days later, he stunk so much of urine that we had to keep the car windows open and bathe him before entering the home. He never wets himself or his bedding at home. The owners take very good care of dogs- when they are there, so check, as it sounds like having enough backup staff was a problem.
I have been taking my dogs here for years and have other family members and friends that do too. My dogs have always loved going. They can play in a safe environment and are very well taken care of. Sandy Getz, the owner, is an extremely experienced dog trainer/handler and a whole-hearted dog lover. Her life is dedicated to these wonderful creatures whether they are her own dogs, foster dogs or her clients beloved pets. She is extremely qualified and diligent in making sure every dog in her care is healthy and happy while they are with her. She goes above and beyond when needed and I am always amazed at how she handles such a wide range of personalities and needs with ease. I am shocked to see a recent negative review as I've personally seen Sandy handle, and accept for boarding, dogs deemed difficult or aggressive. She has no problem with them. I trust her instincts and years of dog-handling experience and if she felt a dog was too aggressive, it was. instead of complaining about someone who knows the difference telling you your dog is a problem, how about taking it to training classes? Just a suggestion.
We love sending our Alaskan malamute here. We've left him for numerous week long stints and he always comes back happily exhausted. Sandy's got a few collies of her own and is definitely a 'dog person' as others have mentioned. We really appreciate that there's no additional charges for play time, exercise, and love. Lots of area for the pups to run and roam. Only downside is that it's a bit of a drive from us, but it's well worth it.
I recently boarded my two Kuvasz for the first time with Sandy at Creekside Kennels. I was somewhat nervous leaving them as my male can be quite difficult to get to eat when he is stressed. I could not have been more pleased with the experience. Upon my return the dogs were happy, healthy and stress free. So much so that when we came to pick them up they were obviously enjoying themselves and not in a hurry to leave! Sandy provided excellent care and attention for my "big babies" I highly recommend her.
Walter and Tessie seem to have had a wonderful time! They are tired and happy. The kennel is intimate and cozy, which we really liked. Sandy was really accommodating since we had a quick request for a weekend getaway. We would definitely recommend her.
Love love love Sandy and her kennel. She is seriously a dog whisperer - I don't know how she manages to handle so many dogs at once! Now that we've boarded our 2 precious pups with her a few times, I can't imagine taking them anywhere else when we're out of town. As others have mentioned, our dogs are absolutely pooped when we come and get them after a trip, and as it's said, 'a tired dog is a happy dog.' Our dogs are certainly very happy and I feel completely safe knowing they are with her. PLUS, so much land for them to play/frolic on - this is part of the reason we go an hour away to board them with Sandy, not to mention she is very reasonably priced. A+++
We love Creekside Kennels. My dog was so anxious at his previous kennel he would make himself physically sick. He always walks right into Sandy's yard and seems happy to be there. The prices are fair and it's obvious Sandy is a 'dog person.'
I know my dogs are taken care of by Tamara when they board at Quailview! I love that they can go out in the play yard to burn off energy. They can have their own bed and blankets in their run. Highly recommend!
While the owner is very welcoming I’d probably bring my dog here as a last resort. The Kennels are rather uncleanly, and the smell isn’t great. My hound was also rather dirty, nervous, jittery, and a little smelly. My hound also came back to me with little to no hair on it’s snout which is way less than she went in with.
Have never had any issues and the owner is a pleasure to deal with. Our dog is always happy and healthy each time we've picked her up after a stay!
Tamra is an awesome trainer. She works with all levels of handlers and dogs. Highly recommend for dog training and boarding.
They have a gun range on the property. The gun shots would cause anxiety in most household dogs. Makes no sense to board dogs directly next to a gun range
Very calm environment, and basketball courts and picnic tables and a small skate park for the kids and teens
Tamara is always friendly and does an excellent job with my older dog
Great experience. Owner was very nice and very knowledgeable. Place seemed very clean. Overall, great experience.
Very caring people who know dogs and price is good.
Always great.
