Animals are such agreeable friends. They ask no questions & pass no criticism.
Dawn and Greg were the perfect sitters from the start. We had a great FaceTime with them since they were coming from a different time zone, which immediately put us at ease! We ran into a bit of an issue night one (our fault) and they were flexible, adaptable and SO gracious! Dawn was great about communicating with us, sending pictures and keeping us apprised of how our kitties were doing. We would gladly have Dawn and Greg again.

Caring, Clean and Dependable Traveler Who Would Love To Take Care Of Your Home
Elizabeth was fantastic and we would absolutely have her again. She is a great communicator, checked with us if she wasn't sure, took good care of Lulu, and was overall wonderful.

Retired Trial Attorney-Trustworthy, Compassionate, Friendly, Caring and Tidy!
We were lucky enough to have Dede sit our house and yellow lab for a little more than two weeks. She treated our house as if it were her own and did an outstanding job looking after our three year old yellow lab, providing the requisite exercise for her, as well as the love and attention she so craves. Our home was spotless upon our return with everything in order and although our pup was happy to see us, she may have been a little sad to see Dede go. We would reccomend Dede, with our highest praise, to anyone who is seeking a responsible, caring, communicative and considerate sitter, you will not be disappointed!

Responsible, considerate, and well-traveled couple seeking short and long stays
Lauren and Jeremy were wonderful house sitters. I would ask them back or recommend them without hesitation. They communicated clearly, and took wonderful care my pets, house and garden. They left the place cleaner than it started and generously offered to help in ways that I hadn't asked but that were very kind and thoughtful. I felt very comfortable with my animals and home in their care.

Digital Nomad Family Looking to Explore
Matt, Kimberly and their two children looked after our Cadence(Goldendoodle) for a little over 3 weeks. They were incredible, my neighbors loved them. I heard someone played the piano very well❤️. They sent us some beautiful photos of our baby being loved by them and the kids. I wanted them to feel at home and enjoy the Hobart 4th of July celebrations and I think they did. I had no stress leaving my home and dog with this beautiful family. The house was perfect when we got back! As if we'd never left, Cadence was in great shape but will miss them for sure. So many thanks to Matt and Kimberly for their kindness and generosity. I hope to see them again.

Teacher/petsitter dreaming of making petsitting and traveling a reality!
When we select a sitter, we read every review in addition to conducting some sort of video interview. We really rely upon the experiences of past hosts, so that’s why I believe it important to be honest in this review. I love giving out 5 star reviews and do quite frequently, but I also need to share any less-than-positive experiences as well for those hosts who rely upon reviews such as we do. As such, I’m a bit ambivalent about writing this review of Katie, as there were some really good things Katie did while here. She is a lovely, energetic woman who responded immediately to the concerns I voiced to her during the time she watched our pets; however, the “negatives” we experienced speak to the heart of the importance of having a dedicated pet sitter. For the most part, our home was left tidy and neat – which is no small feat as ours is a large house and I appreciate the care Katie took in ensuring we walked into a clean home. That said, Katie failed to notice my dogs had urinated in both of their dog beds and on the floor of our downstairs office, which we believed happened in the first part of the sit and resulted in the downstairs smelling of stale urine. Further, because she didn’t notice the urine, my pets, when downstairs, had to either sleep on the bare floor or in wet beds, neither of which is a satisfactory option. Also, my dogs don’t generally urinate in the house as they have access to a doggie door, and this seemed more a sign of their distress or discomfort. I believe this incident was part of a larger problem I experienced with Katie and that was in the manner in which she approached this sit. I advertised dates of July 6 – July 22. We generally ask our sitters to come in a day or two early as to walk them through the schedule for both our animals and our many plants, as well as to give them time to get to know the animals and experience a little of the town we live in. We also provide a very detailed introduction and welcome guide which outlines our expectations. Katie came in late in the day on the 7th, without personal transportation, which necessitated us picking her up and then my neighbor taking her to a rental cart company the next day because we left very early on the morning of the 8th. This abbreviated introductory time didn’t allow us to fully prepare Katie for the sit and allowed for some apparent “misunderstandings.” The “issue” for me was for the first five days of our 13-day trip, Katie was away from the house for up to 13 hours at a time – leaving our two, older rescue dogs, who have some separation anxiety - alone and with an extended time between meals. It was clear Katie was using this opportunity to visit many of the beautiful areas which surround where we live – hence using our home as more of an Airbnb to vacation – than a house sit dedicated to caring for our animals. Our dogs are fine with being alone for up to six hours but even that, for multiple days in a row, is, frankly, distressing to our animals and to us, as owners. To Katie’s credit, when I called and brought her daily, extended time away to her attention and reiterated my wishes the dogs not be left for more than 6 hours, she changed her schedule and while still gone every day, capped her time away at six hours. And, as I said, she is cheerful and responsive; hence, the ambivalence is positing my concerns with this sit. I think if Katie is provided with very clear expectations prior to the sit and understands exactly what is needed and expected, she will absolutely deliver. For whatever reason, from the start, this sit was rushed, there appeared to be too many misunderstandings, and it ended up being frustrating for us in ways other sits have not been.

Friendly, Responsible Pet Sitter looking to Travel while Working Remotely
From a pet sitting aspect we were not unsatisfied with Sara. Our dogs seemed happy and our chickens were also tended to well. However, from a house sit I will say we were disappointed with a few things. There was a bad storm the day before we left and we requested some photos of the damage to our property that was done. I asked multiple times and never received what I asked for after saying she would send it. We also agreed to daily updates in form of text or pictures of the animals and I did go the first couple days without reliable communication which didn’t sit well with me. As for the state of the house upon return, while it was mostly clean, one of our curtain rods was ripped from the wall. I wouldn’t have been upset had we just been notified of the repair that needed to be done but she never even told us that she broke anything in the house it was just left. She also very clearly rummaged through our drawers and took brand new unopened toiletries from areas that we did not specify she could use and she never reached out asking if it would be ok to take.

Online Registered Nurse seeking to explore new areas and bond with animals
Lindsey was great! She left the house clean and organized and no concerns with that. My dog loved her and it went so well he didn’t have any behavior problems when I got back. Would definitely recommend and have her come back in the future.
I am struggling with naming our top adjective to describe Michael and Jeanne. "Conscientious" will likely be it but then again, "personable," "reliable," "organised," and "animal-loving" are top contenders. If you are reading this review and contemplating inviting this couple to watch your pets, then look no further. We have had a number of excellent house sitters but this pair was next level in terms of the love they showed our cats, Maxx and Nala. When we came back, we could our animals already missed them. These cats, who have never slept with anyone other than us, were getting in bed with them each night -- and that meant climbing stairs! The day before our trip, Nala got an ear infection and had to be put on steroids for asthma. Michael and Jeanne did not sign up for that when the sit was booked but they took it in stride. In the last-minute rush, I relayed that Nala needed her oral steroids morning and night. Michael read the RX label, indicating one dose a day, and contacted the vet to clarify. So you can see why "conscientious" is right up there. They saved Nala from an overdose! We were gone three weeks and they sent us just the right amount of pictures and videos. They bought cat toys (I forgot to put ours out!) and actively engaged with them, including 20-minute massages for Maxx. I truly believed them when they said they fell in love with our fur babies. The house was spotless (which was not important to me but truly appreciated) but I smiled when all six water stations in our yard were filled. They took seriously my love for and the needs of the wildlife in our yard. Our plants were all in good condition as well. Sensing they were "next level" when I met them, I predicted they would want to leave a meal for us upon our return. I asked them not to but they found another way to bow out with class. They made a donation to a nonprofit I work with instead. This I learned from the lovely thank you note they left. I hope they will consider Charles and I friends because we certainly feel that way about them now. What special people. If you book them, treat them well because they are going to do that for you for sure.
Kathy and Ron have sat for us several times in the past and have always been excellent. They are our "go-to" pet and house sitters and we always check their availability before we post a sit. They are trustworthy, organized, communicate very well, and take great care of our cats and our house. We hope they will continue pet sitting for many years to come!
Kimberly was a wonderful sitter who watched our two cats for us while we were out. She was willing to come a day early to help acclimate herself with the animals, and this was exceedingly helpful in making sure the cats would be comfortable with her during our absence. I would highly recommend Kimberly if you're looking for a responsible, caring sitter.
Kathryn was a wonderful sitter for Princessa! She was flexible and communicative and took great care of my cat and home.
Toby and Chloe were one of the best house sitters we have ever had! As a small animal vet I have seen many types of pet sitters and these guys are top notch. Our pets are not easy either. We have special needs dogs, cats on medication, dogs with behavioral issues, horses, chickens, goats and a large (100 lb) Sulcata tortoise who needed close monitoring of the temperature in his barn. Everyone was thriving and happy when we came home. They read through the packet and asked thorough, thoughtful questions. They went above and beyond grooming, mucking and grazing the horses and goats everyday. They chopped greens and fruit daily for our tortoise. If we had known how amazing they were we would have booked a 3 week trip instead! Can't recommend them enough.
Anna was a wonderful sitter for our furry friends. My dog, Luke, bonded with her and was sad when she left. My cats would crawl under the covers and curl up with her at night. She is a true animal magnet and lover. I highly recommend Anna to anyone who wants their pets to recieve first class love while away.
Elyse was one of the best pet sitters we've ever met! Couldn't recommend her more. We hope she stays at our place again. She sent many pictures of our beloved cats throughout our absence. We returned to our cats seeming relaxed and happy as ever. She also left our apartment sparkling clean. 10/10 :)
Oh wow! Everyone should be so lucky to have Nicholas and Veerle watch their house and pets. These lovely people are pros! They communicated early and often, were super accommodating to some last minute changes (it was originally going to be only our cats to watch but we decided to keep the dog home as well so that added to the schedule and care needs) and they left the house spotless and all set up for another sitter who came in after them. We didn’t get the chance to meet because my departure and arrival times but I dearly hope I get to in the future because they were just great! I even heard how nice they were from My neighbors who say them out walking our dog. :-) They also sent regular pictures of the pets which look like pro-photography! Cannot recommend this couple enough! Your pets and house will be in good hands!
Ann Marie was an excellent house sitter who went above and beyond. She flew in a day early and stayed at a local hotel so we she could meet my cat and get the keys before my early flight the next morning. When I returned, she and Tryke were best friends and the house was immaculate. She even washed the sheets and towels, and remade the bed. I strongly recommend Ann Marie for any future sits!
Steven was a great sitter for our black lab Souris and cat Pinot. They were well looked after and really liked Steven. Our house was in good order when we got back and Steven was kind enough to give us a lift to and from the airport. He was very flexible, arriving day early so we could show him around.

I've been taking my small fluff ball of a dog to Rhonda for a few years now. She is very kind and considerate, she treats all the dogs as if they were her own. She gets to know them personally and what dogs play well with each other. She is passionate about her Kennel and is amazing.
My Corgis absolutely love Rhonda at Kaley Park Kennel! It’s a huge relief when I go on vacation and I know my dogs are in perfect hands and being Loved.!
Ronda gives my dogs tons of attention. I love her drop off method....she takes care of paperwork first then comes to your car and takes dog to play first thing. They think it's a play date!
I know my dog is safe and well-treated here. Always a very good experience. Nollie, our dog, gives it Two-Paws-Up.
This s my first time going she was very friendly n professional even tho she said my dog talked a lot the whole time she was there sorry she talked u to death but hopefully next time she’ll do much better😊thanks for your service! …
The worst kennel experience ever !!! If you love your dogs, stay away from this crazy lady! She won't even let you view the kennel !!! All they needed was a little attention !!!
This place is pretty great! They have their property secured so our pets are safe and the owners spend a lot of time with them. It’s the only place I have sent my babies to and the only place I will ever use.
Great rates and Rhonda is very friendly and accommodating. My dog loved her.
Teddy, my black lab loves Rhonda and loves the walls. Very good place. And I am picky!!
My dogs love this place and Rhonda loves my dogs! The care and attention is unmatched.
I've been bringing both of my dogs here for a little while now. My dogs have pretty different personalities but they both leave beautiful and energetic. I appreciate the care taken and the good vibes of this location. The groomers always do a great job giving my dogs a natural trim, de-shedding, and sanitary trim. I've never had a bad experience.
We were disappointed with our recent visit to Sitting Pretty. We requested a bath, blow-dry, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and teeth brushing for our dog, confirming these services both on the phone and in person before the appointment. At no point was anal gland expression mentioned to us, and we didn’t realize this would be performed as part of their standard services. When we got our dog home, she seemed uncomfortable, chewing at her butt and clearly distressed. Later that night, we noticed anal gland secretions on our bed (something that we had never had issues or experiences with before), which was upsetting for us and stressful for her. When we called to clarify, they informed us that this service was performed, but it was not communicated to us during the booking or drop-off process. While we understand this may be a standard practice for them, we feel strongly that procedures like this should be explicitly discussed beforehand. Our dog has never had her glands expressed, and this situation has left us concerned about potential future issues for her. We hope this feedback helps improve communication between staff and clients in the future so everyone is fully informed about what services are being performed during a grooming session.
Every groomer I’ve had has done a phenomenal job. The cut, the way my dog is excited to go there. The place and building itself is amazing. Only reason I’m giving a 4/5 stars is in order to be a client. I have to deal with the receptionist, who is not very customer friendly.
First time going there and they were super fast booking an appointment for my pup. KAYLEIGH was my puppy's groomer & she was beyond fabulous!!! Great customer service skills and met all of our expectations!!!100% recommend!! I will be returning thank you, Thank you, thank you!!!!
Took my cat in to get his nails trimmed. It was so quick and cheap. Though, I didn't know there were steps to get in/out. That made navigating my pet stroller awkward/slightly difficult.
The owner does an excellent job with my dilute calico cat I will continue to have her shave my cat with a lion cut it certainly helps her not to be a poopy but.
I have been twice now with my 3 huskies. They are always so soft and fluffy when I pick them up, and it's been a great experience so far.
I would highly recommend Sitting Pretty because they are very careful with your dog. When you get your dog back they come with a free bandana already tied perfectly on them. Also when my dog leaves the place she comes back smiling like she enjoyed it. I would recommend it to send them there for cutting their nails and for haircuts. 😁 …
We have a juvenile cat whose long hair is impossible to keep untangled. The staff at this salon do an incredible job giving her a lion cut that helps keep her happy and tangle-free! Appointments are easy to make, the staff are friendly, and the salon is clean and inviting.
I really like to support businesses in lakeside, that is why I first chose sitting pretty and boutique. Sitting pretty pet spa is our doggie groomer of choice every time. BAiR and I love, sitting pretty. We go to this pet salon, Monday's especially you can get a discount on getting your dog's nails trimmed. You can walk in and get your furry Friends nails trimmed for $10 I believe. You will walk in the front counter girl says hello they come out take your dog to the back area you can look at all the little dog toys and dog bones they have and then before you know it they're bringing your dog back out happy as can be. We always make sure to grab a special bone before we leave the salon. They have a cooler full of Bones up front they're very yummy I mean I wouldn't know but my BAiR always lets out a good howl when he gets a bone. They are very very very busy you need an appointment if you want to get your dog's haircut. Don't think you can walk in and get an appointment I have tried many times just because I'm not good with appointments and it's impossible they're so busy so make sure you call at least a month in advance. There is tight parking at the salon there's probably about 5 parking spots on the side of the building other than that you're going to have to park on the street. If you need a dog groomer and you have never been to sitting pretty salon I would recommend, Kristen one-hundred-percent go with. Woof woof
