Seàn was an amazing pet and house sitter! He was super communicative and took amazing care of my dog Nala and cat Bruce. They were happy and loved while I was away- I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for the two little fur babies! He sent great pictures and checked in every day so I had nothing to worry about. On top of all that, he also kept my place immaculately clean and left my place in wonderful shape. We can’t wait to have him back to sit and I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone looking for a sitter!
Young was the perfect house sitter for us. From the moment you meet her, you can tell she is animal person and is detailed oriented and will take great care of your house and pets. She exudes a peaceful and grounded energy. She was comfortable with each our pets from the high energy dog to the shy skittish cat. She played with the dog in the yard every day and took him on walks. And she was also very attentive to our cats and figured out how to maintain the equilibrium in the relationship between the cats and dog. She is an excellent communicator; she asked questions when our directions weren't clear and kept us updated on the pets. She is also an amazing photographer. She sent us pics of our pets every day that totally captured each of their personalities.
After seeing the numerous positive reviews, I knew Cung would be an easygoing and professional cat sitter and house guest, and he was :-) Easy communication, prompt updates and clear concern for Boz & Artie's wellbeing, and pictures of cozying up on the couch together all made our time away secure and stress free. Upon returning home, the cats were chill and the apt was left spotless, as though he hadn't even been there.
Jeanne is a repeat pet sitter for us. She is wonderful and takes great care or our cats and our home. We have peace of mind when we travel knowing our kitties are under her care.
Angel was absolutely the best house sitter we could have hoped for. She is a very warm, open and diligent person and our two cats adored her. She looked after our house and garden with really conscientious care. She won over our very timid cat, Billie, and sent regular photos of both cats looking supremely content which gave us perfect peace of mind. The house was completely spotless on our return and the garden was fabulous... no mean feat since there was a heatwave while we were away and she kept everything watered and in great condition. We would have Angel back at the drop of a hat and cannot recommend her highly enough.
My partner and I left our cat Mango in Lindsey's care for a month so that we could get married. We were going from FL to ME, so it was a long way from home. We were gone for a month. Picking the right houses sitter was important. We are so glad we picked Lindsey (and she picked us). From before Lindsey got on her plan to fly down, until she was back home again Lindsey was communicative, considerate and positive. We felt like we had a family member staying at our place and because of who she is, Mango and our home's well being was a weight off our mind during the wedding. If the need arises in the future we will definitely be giving her the right of first refusal. Thank you so much Lindsey!
Kathryn was such nice and kind sitter that both of my boyfriend and me were grateful to have, including my cats!! My cats seemed having great time with her, being around her, chilling on couch with her, or even sitting on her. I got several photos of my cats from her with whort updates. I’m thankful that she let me do facetimes with her when I missed my cats. The house was clean and tidy when we came back. I definately will ask her again to sit my cats and house when I need. Thank you Kathryn!!:)
Jenima is an excellent sitter! She is organized, communicative and flexible throughout the stay. We needed a sitter at the last minute because Jazz got sick, and Jenima saved us. We left a little worried about him, but Jenima took care of him really well and kept us informed. Cats love her! We definitely recommend her to take care of your pets!
If Cung ever applies to your post for a house or pet sit, I strongly encourage you to jump at the offer. You will not be disappointed. Cung is among the top (if not the top) sitter I’ve ever had and I’ve been on this site for years. Primarily, Cung is very organized. In the weeks and days leading up to the sit, Cung kept me abreast of his plans and status. I felt very comfortable in the days leading up to the sit because I knew the plan we made to exchange the keys and walk him through the instructions would work as planned. Second, Cung really cares. When he got to my apartment after what I assume was a long day of traveling, I explained the care instructions and he was very attentive and cared about the details - asking very specific questions on how to care for my cat and apartment. I had some pretty specific rules about how to feed my cat and take care of him and Cung followed those exactly. Third, Cung makes you feel comfortable while you are away. I got daily or twice daily updates about my cat. I got pictures which made me feel like my cat was having a good time. My cat came out within an hour of me being away - very fast for my cat as he is shy. Cung must have a calming energy towards animals. Cung was also very responsive when I reached out first - replying within 5 minutes. I really appreciated that. My cat threw up at one point and Cung answered all of my questions to assess whether my cat was sick or had just eaten too fast. Fourth, Cung will take good care of your apartment/house. I came back to a SPOTLESS apartment. The sheets were washed and folded on my bed. The towels were washed. The apartment had been vacuumed. The kitchen was clean. The dishwasher had been run. Everything was in its place when I returned. Honestly, cleaner than when I left it which is difficult since I am a very clean person. Cung also respects your property. I have an extensive computer setup that he used for work and he was very respectful of that equipment. He asked if he could use it beforehand, which was incredibly polite since he could have used it and I wouldn’t have known. In sum. You need to jump at the opportunity if Cung offers to sit for you. I came home to a very happy cat. Hope he will sit for me again sometime!
Kristi was an exceptional house / pet sitter and we appreciate her being so flexible as were not sure how long our vacation was going to be. She was prompt, courteous, and even drove up the weekend before to meet with us. She took great care of our house and our dog snd cats loved her. I would highly recommended her.
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Sittsy.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least 20$ per visit, $25/week per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Sittsy.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Sittsy cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
I loved my experience with these people. They have been in business for a long time and I’ll definitely be going back. We were tenderly greeted and my Australian Shepard has never looked so good. I asked for a nice close cut, because it’s summer and he loves to swim and the owner did a fabulous job. I will bring him back there and I will board there if I ever need to. Great place I walked in to a place in a small strip mall in Hubbardston to get some information not too long ago and waited and waited and waited (in fact I think I was being ignored, since she looked at me several times) young lady working on an Aussie who didn’t appear to be having a good time (yelped while I was there). Once that occurred, I turned around and headed for the door and decided that I will never return there.
I had my high energy yet obedient dog groomed . My dog is usually excited to see me when I pick him up from a groomer. He was groggy, listless and slept the whole way home. Ask if they give calming treats before grooming. My dog was drugged without my permission. If you love your pet, do not go here.
Puttin on the Ritz is an excellent kennel. Their price is very fair and they handle the dogs excellently. Our dog Dover was a challenge when put into a kennel next to a smaller dog he would turn into a vicious frothing maniac. However through proper kennel management by the owners they found out when placed next to a larger dog he was calm passive and happy. They had no problems with him we even brought tranquilizers just in case because our last kennel could not handle him. When we picked up after 10 days of being in Aruba they said that he was a charm they would be glad to have him back and they did not give him any medication at all and through proper kennel management they handled him brilliantly. I would recommend them to anybody.
POTR receives a lot of great reviews so I was excited to leave my dog with them. However, I was pretty disappointed. When I first arrived, I really couldn’t figure out how to get in. There were no signs about where to go and it looked like a residential house. A woman yelled to me and pointed from inside but I couldn’t figure out what she meant. Whatever though, I know that’s a very minor detail. I continued with the drop off process and spoke to the gentleman that I assume ran the place. He seemed friendly but I was a little concerned about the environment as I saw a lot of dogs in crates. I wasn’t told about how my dog would be treated (if she would go for walks, play time etc) for all I know she could have been in the crate for most of the week. I think if that had been discussed I would feel a little better. After a week went by I picked my dog up. The same gentlemen met me to release her. Again he seemed friendly. However, I quickly noticed a few things. 1) My dog had a significant injury to her nose. I understand that stuff happens when dogs play but I wasn’t told what happened or anything about it. This made me a little concerned. 2) My dog smelled bad. 3) Cost was decent but not for the level of service I got. One year my previous dog stayed at a place in Littleton, NH that charged 25/night and it included a doggy suite, homemade treats, long walks and a full staff of support. That was a steal compared to this. Unfortunately, I will probably not bring her back to POTR.
Great place to board your beloved pets with reassurance that all will be good a short time later. Both my girls got the bath and nail treatments before I picked them up as well! Thumbs up for T & T. !!!!
One of the top groomers in the country. Very good with the dogs. Also excellent for boarding. The dogs are treated well.
They are amazing at grooming, but more importantly, you know you dog is safe and well attended.
Good place to go if you're blue and don't know where to go, this is assuredly where fashion sits. It's really cool here after nine!
They make my rough and tumble, shaggy Poodle look like a show dog when he walks out of there! Wonderful groomers!
My 2 dogs seem to have had a great time for the week they were there!
I brought our cat, Spot here today. July 7, 2020. She needed a bath and due to Covid was past due. Spot doesn't like everyone, she can be very friendly and get mad quick if she doesn't like the situation. Our groomer has moved and I wanted to find one close. Fox Run was awesome. The groomer met me at the door, took Spot and instantly started talking to her, Spot loved that and it made her and me feel good. I picked her up 3 hours later and she was so soft, beautiful and absolutely adorable. Happy as a clam. It cost 45.00 and I gave her 60.00. You cannot beat the price. I highly recommend and will def be going back.
I have a rescue dog that I got in February who is very timid and nervous around new people/dogs, so I was anxious to board her for the first time. We found Fox Run, and Shelby was so great and really listened to my concerns about boarding her. Shelby had different strategies to accommodate her depending on how she adjusted and wasn't judgmental at all (which I have experienced a lot with other dog "professionals"). When we dropped her off for the first time, I could tell my pup was scared, but the staff was great and took it slow with her. We have used them three different times now and I can tell that my dog really likes all the staff and has a lot of fun while she is there. I would use them more for day care if they weren't quite so far from me. Shelby and crew are awesome, and I would trust them to look over any of my dogs I have now or in the future!
Very happy that they were able to board our 2 large mastiffs. Our dogs can be very difficult and they were able to keep them for 12 days on short notice. They kept us up to date on how they were doing. The process was very simple.
We used Fox Run Kennel during our trip to MA. When booking the reservation I was told as long as I picked my dog up during the morning hours of 7:30-9, I would only be charged one day. There rate is $45/day/dog. When I picked them up at 8:45 they tried to charge me for two days, stating that if I didn’t pick them up at 7:30, (opening time) then I would automatically be charged for an entire another day. This is deceiving and a scam. I feel like because I was from out of state they were trying to take advantage of me. I refused to pay the two day rate. They allowed me to pay for one day after refusing the ridiculous amount. Don’t go here!
Cancelled on my boarding at the last second in what appeared to be revenge for me cancelling a boarding appointment the other month. I had a boarding scheduled for my dog in June and our trip was cancelled so I cancelled our boarding two weeks in advance. The woman I spoke with obviously didn't properly cancel the boarding because on the day our dog was originally scheduled to be boarded a man called us and asked us where we were and if we were coming. I explained to him that I had called the other week to cancel and he asked who I spoke with. I told him it was a woman and he just gave a "oh, ok." and hung up. The woman who called me today to cancel our boarding appointment gave me this nonsense excuse that our dog was difficult the previous time boarded her there and that "the kids" had a hard time handling her. Excuse me, kids? This place uses high school minors and doesn't tell pet owners. I was under the impression that trained professionals would be handling my dog. Nope, they let untrained children handle them. So they lie about who's handling your animal and will then cancel your boarding last minute for spite because you previously cancelled and they screwed up their own schedule. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else. Lots of better boarding options in this area.
Fox Run is a great place to board your pet. They not only take dogs of all sizes but cats and other animals also even rabbits. Very family oriented.
Great place to leave your dogs for the day. The staff is awesome! They were able to accommodate our last minute request.
Wonderful staff, very accommodating (administering meds, extra play time, etc), the only place I bring my dog when I go away.
Took care of my wife's cat made her happy that they took care of him above and beyond for a cat that had to have shoots with every meal and a cat that is old and frail so we could go away
Place used to be awesome used to bring both my dogs there
