I'll take care of your home & pets, to give you peace of mind while you travel
This is the second time Jake has been our zeewoi. That really says it all because we reached out to him to ask him to come back. The pups love Jake and he is a very tidy, organized, and fun loving person who is also a great communicator. We hope to have Jake come back again and again. If Jake sits for you, you are very fortunate!!!

Carissa had great communication before the sit to make all the arrangements…she was respectful of the house & took great care of Leo - I came home to a happy cat & a clean & tidy house!!

Jerry and Sylvia - we might not be much to look at, but your pets will love us!
If we could give Jerry and Sylvia a 10 we would. They were absolutely wonderful and a delight to get to know. They left our home spotless and washed the sheets and towels before we returned home. Our puppies were well taken care of and bathed before we returned. We highly recommend them for a sit and hope they will come visit us again!

I'm kind of like Mary Poppins, but for fur babies!
Kathryn did a great job caring for our home and two cats. She was kind and efficient. She was thoughtful to send pics and responsive to texts asking how things were going.
This was our first time using zeewoi and we were a little apprehensive, especially as we were going away for almost 5 weeks, but we really didn’t need to be. Mary and Kevin were fantastic from the start. They had excellent communication and put us at ease straight away. They looked after both our cats with lots of care and we came home to two very happy and content kitties. Mary and Kevin struck the balance just right whilst we were away by keeping us informed of how the cats were and sending pictures of what the cats were up to every couple of days. It was so lovely to know that the cats were enjoying themselves and being so well looked after whilst we were away. Mary and Kevin also looked after our house extremely well and we came back to a very clean and tidy home. We would definitely recommend Mary and Kevin to anyone needing a house sitter and would love for them to sit for us again if they were ever back in the area.
Hilary was a fantastic pet sitter for our cat - you would be so lucky to have her care for your pet and home. She took exceptional care of her and our home. Hilary played so much with her and took the best care. She was communicative, easy to coordinate with, and left everything super clean for us when we came back. Five stars is understating how extraordinary she was - we cannot recommend her enough!!
I never met Joi because due to her work, she arrived after I left and was gone before I returned home. This wasn't a problem at all. She was very self-sufficient and seemed to find all that she needed in my house. The house looked exactly like I left it and my cat seemed very content when I returned. Apparently they had a nightly routine of Luna getting brushed. Joi is a very experienced sitter and it shows.
Anna was an excellent sitter - she took great care to understand all of the intricacies of taking care of the house and cats, asked lots of questions, and arrived on time and ready for the sit. During the trip, she checked in with updates, and upon returning home, left the space tidy and clean. The cats were happy and healthy, and seemed to have had a great time during the sit. Thanks Anna!
Cung is a diligent and communicative cat sitter and house guest, and we'd highly recommend him! We hope to have him back again soon
Kathy and Ron arrived at our home with a most fantastical toy for our cats and a giant apple pie. Need I say more? They are very experienced sitters and brought personal items that they prefer. We knew we were leaving out cats in good hands. A large part of their 'job' was hand watering our garden and Ron took that in stride. Everything is thriving. Our cats are usually distant with new people but we received photos of them keeping Kathy and Ron company in various situations which was reassuring. They clearly won our cats over. Although Ron and Kathy had a ferry to catch on their last day, they took time to wash their linens and hang them on the clothesline. They also left us a gorgeous plant for our garden. We would very much like to have them back for a longer sit if possible.
Toby and Chloe were one of the best house sitters we have ever had! As a small animal vet I have seen many types of pet sitters and these guys are top notch. Our pets are not easy either. We have special needs dogs, cats on medication, dogs with behavioral issues, horses, chickens, goats and a large (100 lb) Sulcata tortoise who needed close monitoring of the temperature in his barn. Everyone was thriving and happy when we came home. They read through the packet and asked thorough, thoughtful questions. They went above and beyond grooming, mucking and grazing the horses and goats everyday. They chopped greens and fruit daily for our tortoise. If we had known how amazing they were we would have booked a 3 week trip instead! Can't recommend them enough.
Catherine was a wonderful sitter for our 17 year old cat Zabba. She sent us pictures twice a day and kept us informed about Zabba’s daily activities. We came home to a clean home and would definitely recommend her as a pet/ house sitter. My only concern was that she doesn’t drive and with an older cat, I just prayed that Zabba didn’t need to go to the vet…. And he didn’t 🥰. We will ask her again for sure.
Amazing sitters - I feel so fortunate to have had them stay. Chapeau was treated to daily walks and belly rubs, and my cat Tica was overflowing with contentment from having been taken care of so well. The house was cleaner than I left it and I was treated to a nice note and a lovely candle upon my return. Also, they left a checklist of item that they had done while here. Truly above and beyond!
Jinnie was an excellent house sitter for me and my cat Felix. Completely responsible and reliable and helpfully flexible. She was willing to work with me as I dithered on whether I was actually going to go on my trip (which was dependent on good weather), and when I finally decided on making my trip one day shorter. House was clean and organized on my return, and, more importantly, my cat was calm and relaxed on my return. I would happily have Jinnie come sit for me and Felix again.

Hyde Bark has provided amazing care for our two year old golden retriever during our time in Chicago! River has loved her days at the play park and her overnight boarding with various Hyde Bark employees. The staff is always polite, friendly, and informative and the owners, LeAnna and Brandon, have always been a pleasure to work with and have even hosted River at their house for an overnight boarding. The owners saw a need for pet care on the Hyde Park and have stood up to provide the community with a primer pet care service! Hyde Bark will be one of the things we mist most about Chicago as we move from the city!
Badshah, I, our whole family adore Hyde Park Bark. We use boarding, the play park, walking and bathing. My dog is skeptical of strangers but somehow all the staff a HPB become his friends. I think I would move out of Hyde Park if they were to move their business!
Found Hyde Bark on recommendation from a co-worker. Our (not so) little Ms Maggie has now been going to doggy daycare at Hyde Bark at least twice a week for over a year. She adores the staff and her dog pals. We love the daily messages that include pictures, updates on whether or not she's eaten, her energy level, etc. Highly recommended!
When I moved away from Chicago, the dog walkers at Hyde Bark were some of the hardest goodbyes. Hyde Bark is a real gem, and both my dog and I miss the amazing and professional care that Hyde Bark provided. Hyde Bark took incredible care of both my senior dog, Yogi, who had some health issues towards the end of his life, and my new puppy, Bella, who can be a little nervous around new people. Both Yogi and Bella absolutely loved going on their Hyde Bark walks and would come back home so happy after their adventures. Moreover, Hyde Bark also provided top-notch boarding and pet sitting--they always provided detailed updates so I never felt nervous about leaving my dogs to go away on vacation. Plus, the pictures they snap of your dogs are amazingly cute. Overall, Hyde Bark has really set the standard I use when looking for dog walking and boarding in the future. I have zero reservations about recommending Hyde Bark to the Hyde Park pet community.
Moose loves going to Hyde bark play park! As soon as we turn the corner he tries to start running toward the door because he is so excited to play with his friends. The staff is always friendly at drop off and pick up and they make sure to tell us if he is ever having any issues. We are so lucky to live so close to such a great doggie daycare!
I've used Hyde Bark for years now to take care of our cat whenever I'm out of town. They have provided fantastic care every time -- they always show up when scheduled, send a detailed email with photos, and have always been responsive when needed. It's always hard to leave our dear cat for any amount of time, but it's a little easier when I know she's in good hands with Hyde Bark.
We have been taking our beloved husky to Hyde Bark for over a year now, and we couldn't be happier with the exceptional service they provide. From the moment we walk through the door, we are greeted warmly and kindly by the wonderful staff. Each and every employee we have interacted with has been nothing short of amazing. He absolutely loves going to Hyde Bark every week. He arrives joyfully, tail wagging, and I pick him up at the end of the day with complete peace of mind, knowing that he has been treated with the utmost care. It's clear that he has made friends and has been watched over carefully. The team at Hyde Bark goes above and beyond to ensure that every dog is happy and well-cared for. Their dedication and love for pets shine through in everything they do. We are incredibly thankful to have such a fantastic place in our neighborhood. Hyde Bark truly feels like a second home for our dog, and we couldn't imagine taking him anywhere else. Thank you, Hyde Bark, for your exceptional service and for always making us feel welcome. We are so grateful for everything you do!
I can’t say enough good things about Hyde Bark! My dog has been going there for over year. They have taken such great care of my shy rescue dog and have helped her learn to trust new people. They send personalized messages and pictures throughout the day which I really appreciate along with the crafts they do for holidays! Their services have been so vital to my life and being able to take good care of my dog while having a busy work schedule. They are very flexible when I need to cancel or change appointments. Only feedback I have is that I really miss Todd (the former manager) and the prices are on the higher side for Chicago.
I have been meaning to write a review for Hyde Bark Dog Walking for a while, as I have had experience working with them since the adoption of our dog, Bailey, in July 2020. First and foremost, I want it to be exceptionally clear that this review is based on our experiences and the needs of our particular pooch. It is evident that the owners and employees of Hyde Bark that we have interacted with love animals and put the safety of their employees first - as they should. I am writing this review more in service of individuals who are looking for dog and pet care services for a dog who would benefit from professionals in dog behavior and training. Our dog is a nearly 100 lb Bernedoodle who suffered an unfortunate attack by a neighborhood dog and had some understandable difficulties thereafter. Days after his attack, we were scheduled to be out of town and had arrangements for pet care in our home through Hyde Bark (after ~a year of consistent walking and other uneventful overnight stays); unfortunately, one evening the usual employee was unavailable, so Hyde Bark filled the staffing gap with someone unknown to Bailey. They were first introduced while Bailey was alone, at night, which we should have known would be problematic. This employee got up in the night to use the restroom and then pet the sleeping dog, which resulted in a bite to the employee and our being forced to leave our trip and come home to care for Bailey. After this event, we worked with Hyde Bark and actually began some dog training with someone they recommended (who I still strongly recommend - Elizabeth Jefferis). She validated that this event was not surprising given the circumstances, particularly given the time proximity to his attack. This introduction was a major blessing, as Elizabeth helped us immensely in better understanding Bailey's needs. TLDR of this review is that, unfortunately, we had 2 subsequent events in the 3 years that followed (1: Bailey was scared in the night again and snapped - we no longer did overnights at this point), and then most recently when the neighborhood dog ran out of his house AGAIN and attacked Bailey during a walk. The walker got Bailey back into our home and unfortunately suffered a redirect bite from Bailey. This is when Hyde Bark's owner called us to inform that they were no longer able to participate in Bailey's walking at all. I obviously completely understand this decision and think it was the correct decision on their part given the series of events and the need to ensure the safety of their staff. That being said, if you have a dog who may be similar to my dog in past experiences, you may want to consider other options - perhaps options with walkers who are equipped to read and understand dog cues/behavior. I later learned from Elizabeth that to leave a dog alone overnight is equivalent to solitary confinement and really never should have been suggested as an alternative when overnight care was no longer an option. It is also worth noting that Hyde Bark is aware of the neighborhood dog issues and actually also walks (to this day) the dog who has attacked Bailey twice. I would suggest in the future, where possible, to select different walkers and to choose alternative routes than to walk by the same house where an aggressive dog has run out of his unfenced yard twice to attack. Obviously staffing limitations and routes are finite resources, but it may have helped us avoid cutting ties. I truly think the owners and staff of Hyde Bark are wonderful and our primary dog walker really was a loved member of our family and Bailey's favorite hooman. Unfortunately, despite good intentions, I think there was just a critical skill set missing in our case for the needs of our dog. I was compelled to write this review to help people and dogs in our situation, as I had a difficult time finding a suitable alternative based on reviews after going separate ways with Hyde Bark. The good news is we have found an outstanding option for Bailey's needs in Canine State of Mind. Please see separate review.
(I also posted on Yelp but wanted to include my review here as well) If I could rate them a zero, I would. Last year, I tried to sign up my dog to attend daycare, respecting the established process. Initially, I called but no one picked up. Thankfully, because I work in the area, I decided to visit them to inquire more especially because I needed an option for my dog within the next few days. Upon entering the business, I was a bit apprehensive because I was not met with the warmest hello but didn't pay it much attention. Thankfully, one of the employees went through the process and told me that if I followed all the instructions my dog could do a trial run within the next few days as needed. This was a Wednesday. That night, I submitted all the paperwork and awaited email confirmation the following day. By Thursday afternoon, I had not heard back, even though I was told someone would contact me by then. I called and no picked up. So because I needed to know if Hyde Bark would be an option by Friday, I headed over once more. By the time I got there, the door was locked. Thankfully, so I thought, I saw the person I spoke to earlier that week through the window. I waved and they made eye contact but the person literally looked at me and turned away, continuously avoiding eye contact with me. Acting as if I wasn't there. It was at that point that I was sufficiently done with their lack of care and customer service to new customers. I felt like it was a preview into what it would be like for them to keep my dog. Additionally, I did not feel comfortable leaving my dog in a place where the establishment did not make themselves available to myself, a newer doggy parent, or attempt to bring comfort to myself or even become thrilled at the opportunity to get my business. I am so happy that others are voicing their experiences, I felt so alone. My dog is super happy at Pack Life, and so am I.
As happy as I am to give this 5 star review, I am equally sad because that means my training with Valley K9 is over for the time being. Some context for the following paragraphs, my dog is a Great Dane/Italian Mastiff mix who weighs as much as I do. I had a number of struggles with my lovely puppy, some being: walking manners (I wasn't taking my dog for a walk, he was the one walking me), recall, obedience, and so on. After this going on for a little bit of time, and me realizing that google wasn't fixing my issues, I decided I needed to find a dog trainer that could help me. This was when I reached out to Brock and Tori seeking some help/guidance. Tori got back to me extremely quickly and we were able to set up a consultation. During this consultation, I spoke with Brock about the issues I was facing and he was able to give me an outline of some of the things we would be able to work on to fix them. I really appreciated how he explained the whole process, allowing me to understand how and what would help. That being said, I decided to get my dog in his 8-week/training sessions. From the first session, I was able to see progression with my dog. It wasn't huge, but it was a first step. As we continued sessions, my dog transformed into this miracle child. I felt so much more in control, which was a huge weight off of my shoulders. During this time, Brock doesn't only teach your dog, but he teaches you as well. I LOVED this because it helped me continue to work on things at home in my spare time. Not only is my dog trained and respectful, but I now have knowledge in order to maintain it. Overall, Valley K9 was the best investment I could have ever made. Brock and Tori are extremely understanding and enjoyable people, and I will forever be grateful for their help! My time with them is complete for now, but once I have left the "broke college student" phase of my life, I will potentially be looking into more advanced classes for my pup! 10/10 recommend their services.
I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible work Brock has done with our dog! Our dog used to be highly reactive to other dogs, constantly barking, pulling, lunging, and strangling himself on his leash whenever we saw another dog. Walking him was very stressful and almost impossible for us to enjoy our time together anytime we went outside. Brock took the time to help us understand our dog, Bo, and his needs. As well as tailoring a training program that has worked wonders! The patience, expertise, and genuine care that Brock brought to each session made all of the difference! Our dog is older at 10 years of age, but now he's able to walk calmly at our side on a leash. We are able to enjoy walks our walks together and Bo is much more confident! He's been able to walk with a few other dogs that we see often calmly and confidently. And him being more confident outside has made a huge difference inside the house as well! He's no longer barking at every sound! If you're struggling with a dog reactive pet, I wholeheartedly reccomend Brock. Their ability to turn a challenging and stressful situation into a joyful and positive experience is truly exceptional! Thank you Brock for helping our dog be much more confident and happier!
My new 2 year old miniature Poodle was formerly a show dog who was kennel trained. He had not been a pet in a home before and was very shy and afraid of everything. After our first training session with Brock, I could see some positive changes in my dog. We just completed all the weekly training sessions that were initially done in my home. Gradually we introduced him to public settings, people, and trained him to obey my commands. During this time Buck have adapted gradually to the sounds and experiences of being a normal dog. Now he goes on walks easily at my side, has lost most his initial fears and shyness. Buck learned how to go to his "place" when someone comes to my door. We have been able to control barking and fearful behavior around strangers and other dogs. I never could have done this kind of training on my own. Brock is wonderful and kind with dogs, training both the dog and the owner how to be successful. I high recommend Valley K9 and Brock as a trainer.
Brock is awesome! He helped us with our puppy Rolo and in the 4 training sessions we had, we saw a positive change. Rolo does a lot better when going on walks, staying in place at home, and is better about being around people in public (he’s a social butterfly)! We plan to have more training sessions with Brock in the future!
Thankful we got connected with Valley K9 training co! Brock has done a fantastic job training our 2 yr old lab mix. He is thorough and has guiding us into being confident to practice the training he has worked on and it has allowed our dog to be more confident and experience more freedom through understanding what we are asking of our pup! Brock has been very flexible with adjusting to our pups needs and recognizing what’s working well and where we can adjust.
Working with Brock has been fantastic! He is very knowledgeable and really understands dogs and their owners. Before our training, taking my mom’s doodle mix on a leash walk was a pretty unpleasant experience. She would pull and try to jump on people. Now, we all love these walks. Brock’s approach to training is respectful of both the dog’s and the owner’s needs. I highly recommend him as a trainer!
I highly recommend Brock from K-9 Training. He is kind, knowledgeable and an excellent teacher for the dog and owner. My dog was very hyper and prey driven. She is 100 % easier to live with now. Brock teaches the owner how to train the dog in a way the dog understands and both dog and owner can be successful. The training was worth every penny! You will not be disappointed.
Choosing Brock to help me with my very dog reactive Australian cattle dog, was the best investment I have ever made for him & me. Brock is so knowledgeable, professional and is always willing to answer my questions. He has a true passion for helping dogs & their owners, and is really good at it. Ollie previously, would bark and lounge at every passing dog. I cannot believe the difference a couple of months has made, we are both gaining confidence on all of our outings in public, and I could not be more thrilled with the progress we've both made.
Brock was wonderful to work with. Patient with us as well as our pup. He is flexible with scheduling and willing to meet in a variety of settings. We fount that very instructive and helpful with learning to communicate better with our dog. Time extremely well spent!! Thank you!!!
Brock did an amazing job with my 4 year old hound dog. I couldn’t take my dog for a walk without him pulling me to the ground. He was aggressive towards other dogs and would bark at anything that made a sound or moved. He wouldn’t take orders unless a treat was involved. After working with Brock for a couple of months, I cannot only take him for a walk with ease, but I let my six-year-old walk him. His barking and aggression is substantially better and he listens without treats involved. I highly recommend Brock and his wife for any dog training needs. I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for my dog.
