It was a pleasure to have Cindy care for my cat Stella while I was away on an unexpected last-minute trip. Cindy sent frequent updates and photos, which provided a great comfort to me since I had only been home from a long trip 3 days before suddenly having to leave again. Stella seemed quite comfortable with Cindy's company! I returned home to a relaxed kitty and tidy apartment. Thank you, Cindy!

Shauna was a wonderful house and pet sitter. I got occasional photos of Buzzi (the cat) -- enough for me to see that Buzzi was very happy. Periodic updates from Shauna revealed no problems. The house looks great; now I just have to keep it that neat and clean.

Once again, Todd and Janis were wonderful sitters. They were easy to communicate with, sent adorable photos, and took great care of our home.

Traveling professional with a love for new experiences!
Sharon was just a wonderful sitter. She has an engaging, positive personality and is full of energy. We were happy with the updates and photos of 2 content Goldens, whether on a trail or chilling by her feet. It is so wonderful to go away knowing your fur babies are loved and cared for in their own home. Will need to come up with a trip so we can invite this special lady back.

Solo sitter with the need to please loving animals while their owners are away.
This was the 2nd time Brandi housesat for us. She did an amazing job again and when I got home, I couldn't even tell that she has even stayed in our guest room because she is so neat! She kept me posted about all of our pets and sent photos. I would definitely trust Brandi to take care of our pets and home again!

Complete Peace of Mind While You Travel: Loving Care for Your Pets and Home
Maeve was very communicative and kept us updated on our pups and house during her stay. Prior to her visit, she was very organized with a list of questions so she was well informed before she arrived. The dogs seemed happy and well cared for while we were gone. Recommend her to others.

Sharon took great care of our two dogs! She sent pictures and updates frequently. The house was kept neat and clean and all of the plants were taken care. 5 stars.

What a great experience we had with Lisa. She was so good with Cella. She was very tolerant of Cella's early rising. She's a tiny little thing, but has a big personality and knows what she wants. Lisa was so good at reading her needs. We were able to have a zoom interview with Lisa before we confirmed the sit. She stayed in touch with us daily and kept us updated on how things were going. When we arrived home, Lisa had washed all of the bedding and towels. She vacuumed and thoroughly cleaned the kitchen and bathroom. We couldn't be more pleased with Lisa as our sitter for Cella. We hope we'll be able to have her again. She was awesome.

Sidney did a great job taking care of our dog and cat over a long weekend. We got regular updates and he was very responsive.

We hope to make the acquaintance of both you and your pets!
Nicole was amazing! This was the second time she sat for Leo and she was great again. She expertly navigated Leo dealing with digestive issues, was communicative, and took great care of Leo and my home. After her first time sitting, I reached out immediately to see if she was free for this sit.

Toby and Chloe were amazing pet sitters. It wasn’t the easiest sit - a nervous dog and 3 cats with various ailments and medication to have, but they took it all in their stride and cared for them so well without any issues. Our nervous dog Zelda warmed to them in just 2 days which is a record for house sitters so far! I also really enjoyed getting to know them over dinner the night before I left, they’re very easygoing and positive people. They also left the house spotless for when I came back. I would love to have them sit for us again. You can rest assured your house and animals are in safe hands with this lovely pair!
Kristi was an absolutely incredible sitter -- I think our favorite one ever! She was easy to communicate with, kind and personable, and took great care of our pets and our house. It was the first time we had left both our dog and our cat with a TH sitter and Kristi went above and beyond. She was very self-sufficient but provided fun updates and pictures and our pets loved her. Highly recommend!
Kerry and Megan were wonderful sitters and took great care of our two cats while we were on vacation for two weeks. They were responsive, gave us regular updates, and seemed to really care about Tumba and Cappa. When Tumba was more timid toward the beginning of our trip and not eating her meals fully, Kerry was sure to ask for additional suggestions from us on how to coax her to eat more. Kerry and Megan also left the house just as we'd left it for them. We really appreciated them going the extra mile to ask about additional cleaning products so they could clean our bathrooms. It felt great to come home and just relax without needing to remake the bed. Thanks for everything, Kerry and Megan! We would certainly entrust our home and kitties to you again in the future.
Becca was fantastic - we cannot say enough about how great she is as a pet and house sitter and as a human being! Becca committed to the sit 8 months in advance and was great with her responsiveness in communication during the long lead up to the sit. She arrived early and got the low downs on the animals and house stuff prior to us leaving. She woke up crazy early to help us get to the airport and picked us up when we returned, which made the traveling so much easier on our end. She left the house spot-less (and this is no exaggeration), with the linens cleaned, and a wonderful meal waiting for us upon our return. She is an absolute gem of a person with a great sense of humor and a kind and compassionate nature, and she really enjoys the animals in her care. Our dog and cat were very well cared for and totally at ease upon our return. If you are lucky enough to have Becca sit for you, you will be very pleased at how well she does the job!
Daniel and Vasylyna were incredible house sitters and we would welcome them back to sit for us again any time they are available! They were fantastic communicators, making sure to work out details far in advance and they sent frequent picture updates of our animals which made us so happy while we were away. When the power went out in the neighborhood while they were here leading to a technology issue with our alarm system, they handled everything well. Upon our return, the house was clean, the garden was thriving and well cared for, and our dog and cat were clearly very loved while we were away - in fact our dog was sooooo sad to see them leave! I had the pleasure of getting to know them a bit before I left, and they are such a kind, adventurous, and great couple. I would highly recommend having Daniel and Vasylyna take care of your house, plants, and animals!
Laura came across the country to sit for us. She arrived a day early and from the moment my pets met her our Lokie was smitten. We have one shy cat Luna and she was out and about on the first night. Laura kept us updated and shared her Adventures as well. We do live in a small hideaway of a town so seeing that she was able to enjoy herself was nice. We returned to a clean home, laundry done also, and very content pets. Lokie was sad for a few days as he missed his friend. We would recommend Laura as a sitter to anyone and would have her back again. 5 plus stars. ⭐
Paige, David, and family were WONDERFUL sitters for my crew! They were so pleasant and personable, and the pets warmed up to them very quickly. Even my rescue cat who tends to stray away from men loved David. I received regular updates and communication (before and during the sit). I truly did not have any concerns while I was away knowing that everyone had such great care and attention given to them. (I know the dogs had a good time because when I came home there was no commotion over my return.) I was away on NYE and Paige had no issues keeping an eye on one of the dogs who has anxiety surrounding loud noises. The family cleaned up after themselves and may have left the house cleaner than when I left! Truly such a great family who I would welcome back any time!
Florence was a great sitter for my cat Lily. I booked her a bit last minute, as a previous sitter had to cancel, but was very happy to have her. She was reliable, prompt to respond, and sent picture updates daily at my request. Judging by the pics, Lily warmed up to her nicely and they spent some lounging time together - which is high praise from a cat! Would recommend Florence for your next sit.
Kristine was wonderful again as our local sitter from just down the street. The boys take to her like she is their best friend whenever she comes to sit with them. She sent us photos of them playing, relaxing, drinking water and eating so we knew they were well taken care of. The house and the cats were in excellent shape and excellent hands while we were away. It is wonderful that she enjoys the house and the cats so much and tells us so. Kristine comes with our highest recommendation! Thank you Kristine!
Rick and Sally are marvelous cat sitters and we would gladly have them back anytime. We highly recommend them to any and all pet owners. They arrived when they said they would and were ready to go when we returned, making sure our cats were present before departing. Our home was left spotless, undoubtedly better than we left it for them. We can't urge you enough to engage them if you can!
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home for free at Zeewoi.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $25/day per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Zeewoi.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Zeewoi cat sitters for free, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
We have used Paw pals pet sitting on multiple occasions for our bunnies while we are away. Many pet sitters are not interested in small pets however; Mary and her team, are amazing and we trust her implicitly! We are very happy with the outstanding service we have received from her team including texts and photos of our pets when we are out of town. They always go the extra mile and we highly recommend them!
Highly recommend as pet sitters! Initially, a sitter from the company will visit the house to meet the pets and learn where everything is. Tatiana took careful notes and we got her some spare keys. While we are away, Paw Pals sends sitters to come and look after our boys. They feed them, scoop litter, bring in mail and packages, and they will even manage trash, recycling, blinds and lights so that everything is comfortable for our kitties. Each time they check in, we receive an email message with updates and pictures, which is so comforting when we are on the road. Also, if you don’t let Paw Pals know when you are home, they assume something has happened and will continue to care for your babies. If something were to happen, I know they would be okay. Five stars for Paw Pals!
The folks at Paw Pals pet sitting are fantastic to work with. This review includes a bit of a long story but goes to show how dedicated they are to their job and the care they have for the animals they watch over. I reached out to Paw Pals, even though I live outside their service area, in a bit of a panic because our scheduled dog sitter for our family vacation suddenly wasn't available. The local sitters we've used in the past seemed like they wouldn't be able to accommodate us on such late notice and so we were scouring the internet for other options. When I submitted a request to Paw Pals, I expected to get a polite no thank you - you're out of our service area. Instead I got a call from Jen, who was so kind, helpful and accommodating and essentially bent over backwards to help set up a sitter for us. We met the sitter at her home and it was more of the same. So friendly and welcoming to our dog and fully prepared to watch her for two weeks. We ultimately didn't end up booking with Paw Pals, only because our local sitter had an opening that allowed someone to stay in home with our dog (who is a very anxious senior shepherd-collie mix). But just based on the limited experience I had with them, I would highly recommend Paw Pals. These folks are fantastic and I only wish we lived closer so we could utilize their other services on a regular basis. Five stars all the way!
I have used Paw Pals for several trips over the last few months, and they have been phenomenal every time! Mary is extremely kind and responsive, and she makes sure that my cat and dog have the care that they need every time I am out of town. All of the pet sitters that I've had have been incredibly sweet to my pets, and they treat them like their own! Will gladly continue using Paw Pals every time I need a sitter.
We used Paw Pals for our two cats during the holidays (2 weeks). Our experience was absolutely amazing! From the amazing communication we had with the Paw Pals team and the cat sitters to the amazing job they did with our cats. One of our cats has always been reluctant to meet new people but after these two weeks she's now the first to greet anyone! I love the updates with pictures you get after each visit which is something I always looked forward to while missing our cats. Part of our holiday included being on a cruiseship which left us with very little internet connectivity but at no point did I feel the need to worry as we knew our cats were in great hands. If you need a cat sitter I'd look no further than Paw Pals. I highly recommend them.
We have been using Paw Pals for several years, and through a variety of pets that we have loved. Mary and her team have always been *exceptional* in every way. They are professional, courteous, and truly love our fur family! Mary herself is an organized and stellar administrator of her pet care business, keeping detailed records of our pet’s needs, scheduled pet visits, payments, and balance due easy to keep track of as the pet owner. The pet caretaking team is reliable and trustworthy. When our dogs see any of their Paw Pal friends, they get SO excited to see them! Follow up comments are left via text to keep the pet owner informed of the visit and how the pets are faring. Paw Pals has allowed our family the peace of mind to leave our pets at home, for work, weekend getaways and longer times away when necessary, where they are the most comfortable and familiar. We are grateful to Mary and her team for giving us the ability to enjoy pet ownership without feeling tied down. The responsibility of having pets comes with the need to keep them safe and comfortable at all times, and Mary and her team affords us this when our family has to be away.
Mary and her Paw Pals team are amazing!!! They have taken amazing care of my cats for several years and have always made me feel comfortable and confident that my kitties would be well cared for!!! And when my oldest cat needed special TLC which meant multiple visits a day, multiple medicines with special directions and sub-q fluids, Paw Pals took extra special care of her and always kept me informed of how she was doing with every visit!! I can’t say enough!! I also recommended Paw Pals to friends who are also now regular clients with Paw Pals!!!
I hired Paw Pals based on my sister’s referral. Meet & greet was very thorough and detailed. I was surprised that my finicky cat came to check the sitter out. Subsequently, a sitter watched my cat over several separate visits, and it was clear through the visit reports that my cat loved the sitter. All the visits were completed having followed my directions & with professionalism. I would highly recommend Paw Pals to anyone who’s looking for a dependable, personable, & professional sitter.
Very positive experience working with Paw Pals Pet Siting. Owner, Mary Telesz, came to our home to meet our pets and get accustomed to their daily routine. When we were away she sent updates and pictures to let us know they were doing well. She informed us when she was introducing a new pet sitter through the business for the following days of our vacation, and the sitter left us detailed remarks. Overall recommend and will use Paws Pals Pet Siting in the future.
We are so grateful we found Mary and her team at Paw Pals. They are exceptionally responsive, amazingly organized and detail-oriented. We have such peace of mind when we travel knowing our home and pets are so well cared for. Paw Pals is the best pet sitting service we’ve used, and we’re so happy we found them.
Bark and Roll is the BEST daycare ever! Roger and Lisa care for the dogs like their own. Great service, great baths, nail trimming, and boarding! Cashel loves the days she gets to play with her friends!!
Its the go to business that treats your dogs well. I have no problem with the service here and I think the staff are super friendly. More importantly, the doggies loved it.
I have used the services of Bark and Roll several times already. I have a reactive dog that has not acted up while staying at Bark and Roll. I can enjoy my vacations knowing that my dog is safe and is looked after very well. I never received unexpected calls while I am on vacation. Whenever I pick up my dog, he has been bathed before I pick him up. The staff is competent at what they do. I highly recommended Bark 'n' Roll! They have a wonderful staff watching after our dogs.
We boarded our dogs at Bark and Roll last summer for graduation and had a great experience! My dogs are pretty anxious around strangers but they had a good time with the other dogs and were in good spirits when I picked them up! The staff was friendly and there was always someone inside the room with all the dogs. The facility itself is large, bright, open, and clean! There's also a fenced in area on the side of the building where the dogs are let out to use the bathroom. Can't recommend Bark & Roll enough!
We just had our dog board here and asked to get her bathed as well. When we picked her up, she had just gotten a bath, but was still dripping water. The owner did tell us she won’t be completely dry by the time we picked her up, but I expected her to be at least somewhat dry, which was not the case. When we showed up, they pulled her out of her kennel and was soaking wet. So if we had showed up later, she would’ve sat in her kennel all wet until she dries up naturally. We’ve used this place several times in the past 1.5yr and this has not happened before. I don’t know if they have a new management, but today’s experience was very disappointing and we will not be taking our dog here again.
I have been bringing my dog here for about 2 years now. The staff is very friendly and caring with my anxious dog and she always comes out happy and tired! Out of all the dog daycare places I've tried, this place is the best value with longer pickup/dropoff hours, cheaper rates, a great grooming service, and someone always at the front desk when I arrive.
We loved Central Barks and our dog did too! Honestly it was like a second home to her and we always had peace of mind when we left her there. The staff is super helpful and friendly and you can see they love all the pets that come there. They remember each and every one, and welcome them with big smiles every time. Lisa and Roger are doing a great job and I can't recommend Central Barks enough!
Best prices and service of the daycares in the area. My dogs always come back stinky but I know they had a good time
I used Bark & Roll for bathing my 80 lb Basset Hound. The site was well setup with room, clean sink, responsive water with hot and cold, shampoo choices and dryer/towels. The Bark & Roll attendees were friendly and conscientious to my requirements while attending to their boarded and grooming dogs. Simple, in and out in 20 minutes.
I just wanted to write about my experience with central barks, we've been taking our dog here for almost a month now. The staff has been so kind and understanding. They continue to go above and beyond with great service and even some special accommodations for my pup and us. Its been a great help. Thanks central barks!
My dogs are so happy with their dog and human friends here. They're very well taken care of.
Such a great place!! We were visiting from our of town and needed daycare for our puppy. Dog Takes took such great care of him he didn't even want to leave after the first day!! I highly recommend them for your doggy daycare needs!! Wonderful and caring staff!!
Been going here with my dog since 2020. Especially in the beginning it's been instrumental in helping me with her as a puppy and now as an adult she continues to love coming for social time even if she's not particularly playful. While the location is out of my way, I love the people and have only had good experiences here. Never been brought the wrong dog and she's never sustained any injuries. Live cameras are awesome. I rave about Dog Tales all the time to people.
The staff here are super friendly, and I feel good about leaving my dogs here with them. I've been taking them here for a while and I've always had good experiences.
Since Asher, my dog, doesn't do doggy daycare on a regular basis, I've used the local spot close to I-66 in Manassas whenever we've needed a place for her to stay for a day or two. The problem is they don't provide hands on service that I'd like her to have for an extended stay. And, the last time we used them, she didn't seem very happy at all. Asher is very social, loves to be with people and other dogs and if she doesn't seem happy after being with them, something is wrong. In Northern VA, dog families have a plethora of options for boarding, so doing the research took most of a day. My needs were: excellent client reviews, large boarding space (not a small kennel), passionate staff and Asher has to feel comfortable. Dog Tales Daycare and Dogs Downtown. I liked them both after visiting, but Dogs Downtown seemed a bit more like a training facility (which they are) than a homey boarding environment. As I understood it, she'd go to play area 30 minutes, back to kennel for 30 minutes and keep telling the process. There was not an opportunity to tour the facility. After our 30 minute evaluation, Asher seemed fine to be there, but there was no interaction with other dogs so I wasn't sure how she's react to their play area. At Dog Tales, they require a half day or full day evaluation, and they don't charge for it In all of my research, I hadn't come across a group that wanted to make sure your pup was going to be at ease in their environment. It was comforting to know, after she passed her half day evaluation, that s she's be with other "vetted" pups. I should also note that when I came to pick her up after her evaluation, she wanted to stay and play! I also ran into a person picking up her dog from daycare. She's been a client for years and spoke highly of the kindness and care of the staff. The staff-from my first phone call inquiry until the day we picked her up after 5 days/4 nights-is amazing with people and dogs. They are dog lovers and passionate about their service to them. Here are some points to consider for boarding, for less than $70/day, your dog enjoys: *a larger personal space, not a small kennel * 4 outside walks a day *Any treats you want to leave (Asher likes a treat after every outdoor experience at home, they gladly did that for us) We also requested daily photo updates. They were free of charge. Dog Tales is the professional, yet personal and honey, home away from home your dog deserves it she can't be at home.
Brody loves it here! The staff is professional, friendly, flexible and really cares about the dogs. Many of the staff have been there a long time, and know the dogs and the owners well.
We love taking our two dogs (one young and one older) to DogTales. The staff are so friendly and nice and take good care of our pups. They always get so excited to go and always come back tired from playing all day.
Our dog loves going to Dog Tales! She's been going at least once a week since February and has so much fun with both the dogs and the staff. Especially with social distancing/quarantine, it's been a really great way to socialize her. And I love that I can keep and eye on her when she's there!
The employees are amazing people. But this place is unsuitable for dogs. As a ex-employee, the dogs spend 10+ hours a day in cages. They only stay in the play room for a mere 2-4 hours and then go back inside their cages. And if you watch the playrooms for a while, the dogs do their business everywhere. There is literally nothing the one employee can do to stop the dogs from eating or playing in it. The "walks" they offer, we're suppose to only walk them until they do their business and then back inside. So that means sometimes the dogs are outside for 5 minutes MAX a day. Do not bring your dogs here. I've seen the place inside and out, it's unsuitable for dogs. I even felt sick inside. Management needs to do something. Not to mention the staff is being terribly underpaid.
This is what we are paying for? Employees to sit on their phones, NOT EVEN WITH THE DOGS! I watched this today for so far 15 minutes and not once did the employee look up while I saw dogs barking and peeing everywhere. What if there was a fight? What if a dog has a medical issue?? Calling this place will do nothing as they have lied before in the past about incidents that have happened. Watching the cameras always bring me dread as I continually see people doing everything but watching the dogs. Do yourself a favor and NEVERA bring your dogs here. Ownership is already aware of the poor management and staffing and fully support it.
I recently started working with Kim’s Urban Hounds to help me walk my dog. Having certain medical conditions make it difficult to walk and also up and down stairs. Kim and her staff have been wonderful! They’re friendly, accommodating, understanding, supportive, helpful, and caring. Me and my dog always feel comfortable with them. I highly recommend them to anyone.
Kim is an amazing person—extremely caring and dedicated to providing top-quality service. The dog walker who takes care of my dogs is phenomenal—highly professional, respectful of my property, and has a remarkable connection with the animals. I couldn’t recommend their services more!
Kim’s Urban Hounds did a great job taking care of our senior “pup” while we were away. Our situation was a little unique in that they were able to partner with some of my family who stayed with him to make sure that he had the medical care he needed. They were very flexible and accommodating to what worked best for us. Our elderly dog Carson has mobility issues and struggles to stand on his own, but I received word that he stood up by himself once when Brandon arrived for his daily walk! That was great evidence that Carson really felt comfortable with Brandon, and was happy to see him. Kim’s Urban Hounds has an app that was very convenient. It provided us with one place for our conversations, scheduling calendar, payment info, etc. They also sent daily reports with how his visits went so I knew how his days were going. This gave me peace of mind. If I had a question or concern, Kim or another member of her staff would return my message promptly. I would not hesitate to employ their services again, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing dog sitting or dog walking services. Thank you again for everything, Kim!
I have 2 dogs and the older one just had surgery and is confined for a few months. I wondered what I would do. Reach out to these folks, received a very positive and quick response. Had a meet and great where my younger dog gave Kim kisses. He's excited every time I get him ready for his walk. He's a beagle and barks like crazy when she shows up. Completely happy with this experience and my dog Rollo is too (that's the most important thing). Highly recommend this company, I get instant feed back from the walks with photos and videos!
Wonderful first experience with Kim and her team! Her staff was very sweet with sending great updates and pictures of my cat while I was away. I recently relocated and needed to find a high quality pet sitting service for my cat as a travel often for work. The convenience of having an app on my phone and being able to share extensive notes with the sitters made me feel confident while traveling. I could message the team day or night! Thank you Kim — I recommend and will book again!
I recently moved and was delighted to find that I am still living in the area serviced by Kim’s Urban Hounds. Their dog walkers have always been great! They are reliable, prompt and love dogs. Last year I tore a hamstring muscle and could barely walk. I called Kim’s and they promptly sent someone to walk my dog Samson and continued to walk him until I recovered. I’m doubly pleased to know that Martin works in my current neighborhood—Samson loves him to death!! I look forward to being able to leave home for a few hours knowing that Samson will have company and get a good walk while I’m away!
Kim and her team of dog walkers have been great caretakers of my dog. They have always been able to handle a last-minute request. They have been mindful of her quirks as well as needs during illness. I appreciate their daily reports and photos. They are true pet lovers!
If you want top customer service and dog care (or pet care) you can trust, then Kim's Urban Hounds won't disappoint you. The peace of mind I have come to have knowing they will be caring for my dogs has made a world of difference any time I need to travel. They go above and beyond to meet your and, most importantly, your pets' needs! I love their caregivers and trust them wholeheartedly.
My wife & I have a beautiful Standard Poodle who is just a year & 1/2. I recently purchased in home camera primarily for security reasons because we live in an apartment. Well! What I did not know was our Poodle was insecure & had major anxiety, crying & whining for hours. We use Kim's Dog Walking Service Monday, Wednesdays & Fridays which the walker is so friendly & we get Report Card after every walk. This was not enough to help with our Poodles anxiety so we adopted an 8 month mixed hound. Wow! Guess what, it worked & Kim's dog walking service would not charge us for the additional new dog we had. Our Poodle had so much fun with our new puppy until our newly adopted dog was struck with a unique pneumonia after having her for just 3 weeks. Our little hound was hospitalized for 4 days with oxygen & was released to us in such poor condition. I could not feed her, she would not open her mouth for me & at the same time my wife was out of town for 4 days. My wife called Kim from Charlotte for consultation & within an hour, Kim is at our apartment taking care of newly adopted puppy. She brought with her food, syringes to help feed & water the dog. I was at work & when I came home my wife told me Kim was going swing by that evening & give me instruction on how to care for my puppy. Guess what! Kim was there & the next morning & evening for 3 straight days providing such loving care. After 3 days on a Sunday morning & my wife still out of town, Kim & I decided we could not save her. Of course it was my decision & Kim even cried helping me carry my newly adopted dog to the car. I have never met such courageous, loving women like Kim besides my wife. Her dog walking service is AMAZING! Her staff does not just walk our dogs but talks with our dog(s) & engages. The report cards are the best. Kim will be in our hearts forever & we will continue to use her services. Kim's Urban Hounds & Dog Walking Service is a 10 out of 10. Kurt & Colleen
After a serious leg accident where I am the only person in my home who walks our dog, we needed help immediately. My husband found Kim's Urban Hounds online and contracted her organization to walk our dog. We are extremely happy with the people who walk our dog. Our dog looks forward to their visits every day. I highly recommend Kim's business
After been for more than 18 months taking my dog to one of the commercial famous brands for cares of dogs in the market I decided to give my dog a non utopian place for his care when I need to somebody take care of him. Nice and professional people here! Clean and smell good place. Professional work. Definitely if I need a boarding house for my furry boy I won’t hesitate to bring him to this place where I not doubt he will be ok.
I had an exceptional experience at Giving Tree Pet Resort with my beloved pet Dori and my pet friend Buzz. The staff members were incredibly knowledgeable and showed a lot of TLC to Dori and Buzz during our stay. It's evident that they truly love and understand pets. Dori seemed happy and well-cared for during our time there. I highly recommend Giving Tree Pet Resort to anyone looking for a place that treats your furry family members with the same love and care you do. Plus they have pick up and drop off services too. Thank you for making Dori's stay so wonderful!
My family recently boarded our pup at giving tree pet resort and had a great experience. We went overseas for about two weeks but felt very secure in our decision as we received many detailed updates and photos while we were away. Our dog, Misoo, gets very shy around people, but the care and attention they gave helped Misoo feel very safe and helped him warm up quickly! The facility is very nice and all the employees treat the dogs like their own. If you are looking for a safe and loving place to board your pups, giving tree pet resort is the place!! Here are some photos of Misoo they sent over while we were away :) Will definitely be coming back in the future!! Thank you to all at Giving Tree!
Our pup loves going here for daycare and boarding. They sometimes send picture updates and the facilities are beautiful. Grooming is also 10/10, her haircut looked flawless when we got it done there.
I’m hesitant to write this because we love this place so much we don’t want it to be too crowded! In all seriousness, we started taking Cheyenne to Giving Tree two weeks ago and she has been there every day since we started. Our Cheyenne was a bit timid after adopting her and the staff gave her lots of love and attention until our pup was comfortable. Speaking of the staff, they are wonderful. We felt like family immediately and really feel like we are dropping our pup off with close friends. Giving Tree is very clean, provides lots of personal attention (thank you Hayley), has great hours and like I said, the staff are incredible. We will keep bringing our Cheyenne while we work during the day and will always be comfortable knowing she is taken care of. Thank you Giving Tree for what you do. Don’t change a thing.
At the chaotic crossroads of my nomadic existence, Giving Tree Pet Resort in Reston emerges as an oasis of canine nirvana. Joker, my four-legged conspirator, finds solace and joy in the care of these pet whisperers. The Resort's aura, a blend of professionalism and genuine love for animals, creates an environment where chaos becomes camaraderie. Whether it's the daily escapades of daycare or the tranquil retreats of boarding during my international jaunts, Giving Tree Pet Resort stands as a testament to excellence in pet care. They've mastered the art of not just tending to, but truly understanding the complex souls of our loyal companions. For Joker and me, it's not just a boarding facility; it's a sanctuary where the howls of joy echo in every corner.
This place is fabulous. The grooming is second to none!!! I have had both Chico and Rocky groomed and have nothing but praise. Best cuts ever for both. Rocky really enjoys going to play with his friends. The staff is very caring and I feel it is a great place to trust your pet too. Here's Rocky enjoying his valentine day whipped cream. :)
I am very grateful and satisfied with the service provided by Giving Tree Pet Resort when I entrusted my dog to them during my vacation. They kept me informed about my dog’s well-being and even sent me pictures, allowing me to enjoy my vacation with peace of mind. Especially considering that my dog is timid and easily frightened, I was touched by the extra care and attention given to him by the staff. It was evident that every employee genuinely loves and cares for the dogs, which made me feel confident in leaving my dog in their care. I sincerely appreciate the service provided this time and plan to use their services again in the future. I would like to express my gratitude once again to all the staff members who love and care for dogs.
We’ve taken our dog Pango to daycare a couple of times and he loves it there! As soon as we pull into the parking lot, he always gets really excited. I can tell the staff takes really good care of him when he’s in their care. They have great prices and packages and an awesome staff!
This is a great dog daycare place right in the heart of Reston! We had gone to two other daycares before finding the absolute gem of Giving Tree. We are so happy with the level of care, professionalism, and cleanliness of this establishment. We love that we get text updates as well as there being a cap on the number of dogs across their facility. This ensures that our dogs are safe and well taken care of. I'm so happy that we found Giving Tree and would recommend for anyone looking for a new dog daycare!
I cannot say enough about Pender and their assistance importing a dog from a high risk rabies country (Ghana). Due to all of the new CDC rules, the process took 6 months but I could not have navigated it without them. Special shout out to Mike who answered so many questions throughout (even before I had an actual reservation secured). They made the process possible and we are forever grateful. They took great care of Apricot for the two days she spent there while we waited for CDC release (she had some significant skin issues that needed attention). We also saw lots of happy playing dogs in the doggy daycare/boarding area. Highly recommend. I’d give 100 stars if I could
Travelled from India to DC & was really worried how my pet Luna who is a pug would make it through the quarantine as she is only mouth fed but I would say she did fairly well & am sure the team really took care of her & the vet had given some antibiotics as she had some skin infection due to the hot weather in India which now her skin is improving and hope it goes away completely once her 10 day course is complete. I would really want to Thank the Vet & the Pender Pet Team for taking care of my girl & would surely recommend them and you can trust your pet 100% with them. Great work Team.
I cannot say enough good things about Pender Pet retreat and Mike who helped us every step of the way. Their pricing was fair and transparent and they communicated regularly with me about my pup's status and connected me with transport from DC to Wisconsin. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone importing a dog from another country.
"I can't say enough wonderful things about Pet Pender. Ruth and Connor were nothing but nice and helpful over the phone. My cat stayed with them for six days, and I was beyond impressed with the care and attention Wilbur received. The staff was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive, making sure my cat felt at home. When I picked Wilbur up, he was happy, well-fed, and relaxed, which speaks volumes about the quality of their service. I highly recommend Pet Pender to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring place for their pets!"
Smart, friendly staff -- great for single-day daycare or long boarding. Love their "enrichment" options to add some additional activity to our dog's day! Attached pic is our dog, Pajamas, out on a nature hike with one of the caretakers. He always seems to enjoy his time there, and Pender is always quick to provide updates about his stay.
Hudson loves doggy daycare and comes home a happy and exhausted pup. It's nice to be able to watch him play with his friends on camera. Having a high energy dog, Pender is a lifesaver and a nice break from us at home having to provide the 5 hours of exercise a day he needs.
This was my first time ever boarding all 3 of my dogs, and I was definitely nervous to be away from them for my wedding weekend. First off the facility is beautiful and spacious! The staff is also super friendly. When we came to pick up our pups they were all in great shape and our anti social cattle dog seemed extremely happy and comfortable (which is saying a lot-he’s a really shy guy). Thank you Pender!
Mike was brilliant from start to finish. He was always friendly and helpful. He kept me up to date with what was happening. He flagged the paperwork that needed amending to avoid any problems. My dog needed to be collected by a ground handler and he kept her up to date with when my dog would be ready for colelction. I would highly recommend using Pender Pet Retreat. A huge thanks again to Mike and the team for all their support.
Took exactly care of our pup Harley Quinn , her and I both have anxiety. Caretakers stayed in constant communication with me , and didn't make me feel like I was bugging them even though I called three times within the first 24 hours, lol(its her first time boarding).I will be using the services again. Knowing Harley was an excellent care. I picked her up and she is very happy in a good mood .Which says a lot about the caretakers at Penderpets.
We boarded our dog at Pender over a weekend for a total of four nights. The interior is new and clean, and the staff were all very welcoming and kind. We selected the “presidential suite” accommodation for our dog: this accommodation includes several outings a day, a fluffy bed, and a 24/7 camera, among other things. Despite the wonderful employees, my partner and I were fairly disappointed with the “24/7 camera,” as this was a big selling point for us. The camera was at an odd angle and extremely blurry, ultimately providing a very limited and unclear view of our dog. Half the room was out of shot, we have no idea if she was provided a bed as all we could see was a raised cot. One night we checked the camera and it was totally black, presumably because the lights were off in the facility, but it is a stretch to claim your camera is 24/7 if you can’t see anything all night. (Screen shots attached). None of the other camera views available to us of the outdoors ever showed our dog on a walk or playing when we checked them. We also didn’t receive any updates or any progress report, so we don’t know how she faired while there. Even so, importantly, at pick up our dog was very happy and appears healthy. Overall I think this is a safe place to board your pet with nice people, albeit there could be some very simple changes to improve pet owner comfort and peace of mind (better camera maintenance, progress report at pick up or daily update). I’d round up and give 3.5 stars if I could.
I cannot say enough how wonderful this company is. I contacted the company and met our pet sitter, Tanya, a few days later. She came to my house and met my cat, who loved her instantly. She took notes on what to do to and where food/treats are. She came twice a day exactly as planned and stayed for the agreed amount of time. She always sent an update immediately afterward detailing what she did, how my cat was doing, and she sent a collage of photos. I felt so much better knowing that while I was away, my fur baby was being well-cared for. I wholeheartedly trust Tanya to be in my home while away. In a world where you have to be wary of people, pet sitters from this company are honest and good. If you’re taking a trip and cannot take your fur baby, call Villaridge. They’re the best!
We've used Villaridge three times to watch our cats, and we have never been let down! Our pets are family, and there's no question that they have been taken care of while we've been away.
We are longtime customers of Villaridge Pet Sitters. They have been great, even helping out in an emergency situation. Would highly recommend them.
Responsive, prompt, and detail- oriented. Very happy thus far!
First let me give a huge shout out to Sophia and Alexa for the amazing job they did training my service dog, Leo. Leo and I have been integrated now for almost five (5) years, and no matter where we travel folks always ask where I got him from and compliment on how well trained he is as a service dog. Having Leo has given me the support and freedom I needed to return to an almost normal life post injury. I proudly tell everyone that I got Leo from Dog’s Downtown and always recommend they give Sophia and Alexa a call. For anyone looking for a service dog highly recommend sitting down with Sophia to determine if a service dog is right for you and your lifestyle. To Sophia and Alexa thank you 🙏 ladies and appreciate all the hard work you put into Leo and I. It has paid dividends.
First and foremost, Kudos to you Sean! You did a great job training Theo. We are so grateful and thankful for having you as our trainer. You always kept us updated with photos and videos on Theo's progress within the 2 weeks. Sean did a great job of answering our questions and addressing our concerns on the last day of Theo's training. We highly recommend Sean! Thank you to Sean and Dogs Downtown. -Abas Family
The facility is very clean, the trainers are knowledgeable about their craft, and we are absolutely satisfied with our service dog in training
We left our dog with them for a 2 week Board and Train a couple years ago and have been using them for boarding ever since. It’s nice to have somewhere we can trust to leave our buddy when we go out of town, especially since he’s not the easiest to deal with sometimes (separation anxiety and dog aggression). He’s usually excited when he gets there and seems happy when we pick him up.
I worked with Dogs Downtown to get my service dog placed and trained for my disability needs over 3 years ago. I would literally never take my service dog anywhere else for boarding and training. The knowledge of their trainers is unmatched in the DMV and I interviewed A LOT of places before deciding to invest in a service dog identified by DDT. Their training was super thorough and they communicated with my medical providers throughout the training process to ensure my service dog was meeting my needs at the highest level. Now we take my non-service pet there too for boarding and she loves it! Both dogs feel at home with Dogs Downtown.
I found Dogs Downtown after my doctor and I decided a service dog would benefit my life. I was not in a place where I could manage a new animal, let alone the training, myself and I am so grateful to Sophia, Alexa, and the other trainers that selected the puppy and trained my girl from puppyhood into my perfect partner in crime. She has given me my life back and the trainers were a big BIG part of that. Everyone at Dogs Downtown is very patient and understanding, to the humans and the animals. Do not hesitate to come to them with any of your dog training needs!
After having some behavioral issues, I called Dog Wizard and had basically an hour long therapy session with Bryan over the phone. He really listened to what I was looking for and connected me to our trainer, Autumn. I noticed a big change in Chicken’s behavior over the two months and her leash skills, independence, and recall noticeably improved. You must be willing to “do your homework” between sessions and after the program altogether, but can see amazing results if you are disciplined.
We sent our energetic Newfiepoo for “Board and Train” when he was 6 months old, and again around his 1st birthday. Both experiences were with Sophia as the trainer, and we have been thrilled with the results. The first round of training set a really good foundation of basic commands, and taught us how to best correct him. We were given really practical tools that made him a lot more manageable. The second round of training added a new level of expectation and we felt like we brought home a completely different dog. My husband and I have said many times that it was some of the best money we have spent. Our home is more peaceful now and we have stopped asking each other why we got another dog (a conversation that was happening regularly at first). I have told many people about our love for Sophia and Dogs Downtown and I mean every word! We have also used the facility for boarding our 7 year old dog that has never been boarded before. Both dogs are happy at the facility and that’s all I could really ask for! Kind and communicative staff that really cares about your dog’s wellbeing! Highly highly recommend.
I am not a customer of this business but I was a witness to one of their workers being abusive to a dog. I recorded it and showed it to the manager on duty but I would not trust bringing any of my pets here if they hire people that treat defenseless animals like this. I witnessed the worker smack the dog in the face and drag it on its leash all because the dog got scared and accidentally tripped him. If you love your animals do not bring them here
Our dog is genrally very anxious, but upon arrival, she didn't show any of those signs. We left her for boarding a couple nights and she seemed like she enjoyed her stay.
I would 100% recommend Dogtopia of Dulles. We went for 4+ years for our dog Bear. They were always so caring and loving towards Bear whenever we were there for boarding or weekly daycare. They understood her temperament as Bear got older and knew when she needed some time to self to rest.
The Staff is ok, not the friendliest (or the worst). 1) They charge a $20 fee for the eval which they only mentioned after my dog was taken for her evaluation (all the other daycares offer free eval and/or free first day). 2) I was surprised when they said they don't take the dogs out for walks (all the other daycares do), they simply clean up after the dogs when they go potty in the facility. 3.a) The person who took my dog for her evaluation was a little too serious, her energy was not as joyful and peppy as usual dog caretakers are. Unfortunately, her energy put off my dog's sense of security and made her tense during her evaluation, she was shy, didn't want to interact with the other dog, and lashed out at the 2nd dog that was let into the room. Needless to say, she failed her eval at Dogtopia, which is understandable given my dog's reaction. 3.b) However, I must point out that the following Monday she had another eval at Dog Tales Daycare (Chantilly), the staff there were so friendly towards my dog that she felt safe enough not to feel insecure. Contrary to Dogtopia (Chantilly), thanks to the DTD staff's genuine warm friendly demeanor, willingness to be patient, and allowing enough time for her to get comfortable to give her a real chance for a proper assessment, she was able to pass! (Ps: at DTD the Eval and first day are free, plus they walk the dogs) Back to Dogtopia, the evaluator made me feel like she didn't believe me when I said my dog went to other daycares because of her reaction during her evaluation. I was told my dog was anti-social and didn't seem to like any dogs at all. In the end I was told, "If she does fine at the other daycares its best she stay there". I can't believe I got charged $20 for a 15-minute failed assessment!! Dogtopia Zero stars if it were possible.
I had been taking my two dogs to Dogtopia Dulles for a number of years. However, last month, when I dropped my them off, it would be the last time that I saw one of them alive. Four days into his stay, I received a call that he was found to be "vomiting" blood. My emergency contact was more than an hour away and when I asked if they could take him to an emergency vet the response was "there are 60 dogs here and I am the only person here." My emergency contact took him to our vet who said that that coughing up blood should not have been the first symptom of bacterial pneumonia. Unfortunately, at that point he was too severely sick to recover and passed away later that afternoon. My other dog will not be returning.
Everything! They make me feel like family. I have zero worries when drop my Doberman Cairan off for daycare. The Friday date night hours are a nice touch. It shows they know their clients and work to make every accommodation possible. if you love your dogs like family, you can't do better than Dogtopia.
We had a great experience at Dogtopia Dulles. They were friendly and took their time to answer our questions without rushing us. It was a welcoming and reassuring first visit to that specific location.
I love this place and so does my dog. He can't wait to get in the door and play. All the staff is great to both humans and animals. They r accommodating of dog health issues and value the safety of the dogs. They also do cute special events with the dogs during holidays. Like a paw print for mothers day and a picture of the dog in a cute suit for fathers day. Highly recommend!
Can't say enough about Dogtopia of Dulles South! The location is so clean and my dog-- who is my constant shadow at home-- doesn't mind going into the spa at all! He's known on a "first name" basis-- as soon as we enter he's happily greeted by name. Whether it be for a quick spa treatment, a few hours of doggie daycare, or an extended stay, he's always happy and healthy when we pick him up. The staff is friendly and helpful; the ability to view your dog on the webcam is an added bonus-- especially when it's a long stay. Being able to see him playing with others and wagging his tail while away from home and family is comforting. Overall, extremely pleased with the service and care that I, and especially my dog Murphy, receive at Dogtopia Dulles South.
I feel so utterly let down by this staff. The lack of communication from them cannot be understated. When their nest cameras are working , I would regularly see my dog crated for excesses periods of times, even to the point where an employee mentioned “I’m not sure why they keep her in the crate so much” (!??!). Today I reached out to another employee to question why my dog was in a crate while other dogs were playing outside. the response was that my 30 lb puppy broke their outside play area gate a month ago!?! Are you kidding me?! 1st off, as a business why would you not contact me if my animal damaged your property? Secondly, why would you not tell me that my dog would lose its “privileges” of day care? Isn’t that something I should know? The lack of communication from dogtopia of Dulles, translates to me that they do NOT care. My wife and I have tried to communicate with this location, over the phone, In person and via email regarding our concerns, just requesting feedback and communication. The ONLY one time they reached out was when our puppy injured her self from being in the crate And for the record- if you all care to even respond to this review. I have pictures of her “cuts” from being in the crate for excessive periods. I have pictures of her being in a crate alone, while other dogs out out. And emails reaching out about our concerns , pleading for common ground. If that’s the place you want to leave your dog, that’s your choice . I just hope you dog doesn’t experience what ours did.
The staff at Dogtopia of Dulles is among the most professional I’ve encountered. There is an excellent culture of caring and I’ve really enjoyed sharing my dog with them during his daycare and boarding stays in their facility. Their commitment to cleanliness, health, and safety is very apparent to me. Keep up the great work!
I wholeheartedly echo my husband's review of Dogtopia of Dulles. The lack of communication from the staff has been appalling, and it's heartbreaking to see our energetic puppy, Sky, confined to a crate for excessive periods. Despite our repeated attempts to communicate via phone, in-person, and email, the answers were always unclear. We've since discovered that she's been denied outdoor playtime privileges due to a gate incident a month ago, which was never communicated to us. As a puppy parent, it's devastating to see Sky jumping and barking at the other dogs playing while she's confined to a crate, resulting in bruises and injuries. I understand that managing high energy dogs can be challenging, but I believe exploring alternative solutions like additional training would be more effective and humane. I'd be more than willing to work together to find a solution for Sky, but the current situation is unacceptable. I implore Dogtopia of Dulles to prioritize open communication with pet owners and ensure the well-being of the dogs in their care. I hope our experience can lead to positive changes at Dogtopia."
