Phillipa and David were wonderful, loving and caring with our 6 fur babies. They all looked happy and healthy on our return. Communication was brilliant, we felt we could message any time for an update and we were kept well informed. When we got home Phillipa had a delicious vegan stew ready for us, which we were very grateful for 🙏 Our home was kept clean and tidy and David even did some gardening, keeping our garden looking beautiful. Thank you both so much, hopefully you will be seeing you again next time.

Trustworthy couple
Stephanie & David were the perfect house sitters. Our little dog Ocean was extremely well looked after and from all the lovely photos and videos we were sent during the sit, we can see he got to go on lots of lovely walks and adventures. Stephanie & David were also very accommodating in that they agreed to add an extra day onto their sit so that we could attend a family party back in Scotland which was greatly appreciated. They also went above and beyond by cooking us a lovely dinner for our return after our very long drive back from Scotland! The house was also left immaculate (floors mopped, towels etc were all washed for us coming home). I wouldn't hesitate to have Stephanie & David back to sit with us again and would recommend as outstanding housesitters to anyone lucky enough to have them in their home.

This was our second house sit for Inka and we were delighted with how it went. Ali and Matt were lovely and are clearly highly experienced dog sitters. They made a great bond with Inka and took her on some lovely walks and trips. She even has new toys. Both Ali and Matt were very self-sufficient. Communication was just right- not too much or too little and we were able to thoroughly enjoy our holiday without any worries. We would be delighted to have Ali and Matt back in the future.

Julie and Nick have sat for us before and will be again later in the year. As ever they are very efficient and nothing seems to phase them at all. Our boys love them to bits in fact we don't get a look in when they are around so I am pretty sure their pet care is second to none. Helen was amazing. So organised and with brilliant communication. One of our cats unexpectedly had an injury so he needed medication and a visit to the vets for a check up, Helen did this for us with out any issues and was informing us every day of how both cats were. Helen left the house in perfect condition to come home to and the cats looked happy and healthy! Would definitely love to have Helen sit for us again - highly recommend!

Martin arrived the previous night due to a long drive to ours which was agreed on both parts. This allowed us to start our holiday a day earlier. Martin kept in touch everyday. Videos pictures and updates on their walks; forever grateful for these. Frank has become a fussy eater recently. Martin changed his daily allowance to twice a day which Frank has enjoyed; will continue to do so hopefully. House was immaculate on return. Bedding washed and hung on the line. Puppies walked prior to his departure. A true gent. Thank you for looking after our siblings with such care, passion and devotion. Safe journey ahead to you. It was a pleasure meeting you.

Florence and Robert were outstanding sitters. We asked them to arrive a day early as our guests to learn the routine on our farm. In getting to know them we found them to be good hearted, down to earth people with a love of animals and diligent in learning our routines to care for our poultry, cats and dog as well as our garden and orchard. Not a typical or easy sit. We travelled with ease knowing our critters were being well taken care of. Arriving home, the house was very clean and looked well cared for. The animals were healthy as were the garden and orchard. Out pets missed them when they left – our dog stared down the driveway after them until their car was out of sight. It is nice to find sitters we would like to hang out with and we look forward to having them sit for us again.

Pares is an experienced and quality sitter and we knew our cat Juniper (and a few plants) was well cared for. We received regular updates and photos which was really nice to have during our travels. While we missed Juniper, we could see that she enjoyed receiving cuddles and attention from Pares. Upon returning home, our flat was clean and tidy, and Juniper was very happy! The best cat sitters ever! They loved our cats and spent so much time playing with them and making sure they were happy! We had photos and videos every day with funny little messages and we came home to two very happy, healthy cats. The house was spotless and they even washed the linen and towels! They left us some cute Easter presents and breakfast shopping in the fridge, as we were returning after a long flight. Kira was the best sitter we have ever had! I chose Kira because of her reviews, ability to sit during the dates I needed and willingness to communicate with my daughter/neighbor who co-parents Colby with us. I am always a bit anxious about having someone in my home and trusting them with our fluffy son. Kira put us at ease almost immediately. I received photos and videos everyday throughout the stay. I got updates on Colby’s activity and the fun they were having together. My heart felt full knowing that Colby was being well loved and cared for. Additionally, Kira was so kind to keep us posted on any deliveries that arrived at the house. Finally, when I arrived home, the house was tidy and clean! Again, I am so grateful that Kira was there keeping the house and my cat safe! I hope she will come back and sit again. I know Colby would love to see her again.

Wow! Just wow! We cannot say enough about the care and compassion Trisha and John provided to our cats and our home. We are always somewhat nervous about a new pet sitter in our home, but that all faded when we met this wonderful couple. They provided daily updates as requested, complete with pictures, videos and personalized captions. Upon our return, we were greeted by happy and content kitties. There was no sign of anxiety in Tika! Yea!!! Our home was clean, the sheets and towels were washed and bed remade! They even left behind thank you notes and little gifts! What a breath of fresh air these two individuals are! We hope to have them back again soon.

Lindsey watched our cat and dog for a long weekend when we went out of town. She was a very communicative sitter sending frequent pictures and voice notes with updates. She did a great job of following their schedules and giving them attention. The animals seemed to be happy and relaxed when we returned home and I believe Lindsey enjoyed getting to discover all of the eateries our town has to offer. A win-win for everyone!

Jinnie was an excellent house sitter for me and my cat Felix. Completely responsible and reliable and helpfully flexible. She was willing to work with me as I dithered on whether I was actually going to go on my trip (which was dependent on good weather), and when I finally decided on making my trip one day shorter. House was clean and organized on my return, and, more importantly, my cat was calm and relaxed on my return. I would happily have Jinnie come sit for me and Felix again.

Super nice sitters and extremely flexible. Really enjoyed their company and I only regret that I was too frazzled to chat with them more and get to know them! Kept the house super clean, pets loved them. Dog especially. Had a little problem with my new kitten not meshing well with the older cats (which was not too surprising since cats can be territorial). Pennee was very patient and gave me constant updates and tips. And the older cat was much more calm when I came home. Highly recommend and welcome back anytime!

It has been our Dogs second stay at Hairy Holidays and he absolutely loves it! 💙 Annette is lovely, great fun and very friendly. Our Dog remembered her and was so excited to see her and covered her in licks when we arrived! It’s lovely to see him running free in the garden and playing with the other dogs! It’s a beautiful location with plenty of space for the Dogs and we know that our boy is in safe hands with Annette.
We could not recommend Annette/Hairy Holidays highly enough. Annette really understands dogs and runs a very homely kennels in a great location with loads of fields to exercise in. Desmond dog has stayed there many times and definitely now considers it a dog holiday. He recognises Annette immediately and realises it's a home from home.🐾🐾
My dog visits here for day boarding, nights, weekenders and long stays over 4 weeks. He loves it and the fantastic activities and moorland walks he gets whilst in their care. Anette is his Exmoor mum and she keeps him in line! She sends you regular updates on long stays so that you know your dog is well cared for. Day care can be with 8-12 other dogs. They also have kennels. Overnight home boarding is in their home with their family and dogs (friendly working Cockers). My dog isn't the best at socialising yet he does really well from his visits to Hairy Holidays.
Annette was so helpful when we needed to board our dog Murphy last summer…every local kennel or sitter was sadly unavailable and so on our 13th try (lucky for us) Annette came to the rescue. She even offered to come & collect him when our travel arrangements made it difficult for us to drop him off. We are so grateful to Annette for being so accommodating despite being busy herself with a family wedding. Murphy had the best time - in such a beautiful setting too - running about the garden and in the fields with the other dogs. Can’t recommend this kennels & the proprietors highly enough.

We are so happy we found Hairy Holidays. From the beginning Annette was friendly, approachable and professional . whilst we were away we received updates and pictures of our girl out on walks enjoying herself, assuring us all was well. The weather was so bad whilst we were on holiday that Annette took her into her home and she was settled and cared for. What more could you want to know, that your pet is happy and well looked after whilst you are away. 5 stars from us.
We are a retired couple with a young, very energetic, Labrador Cross. We like to take lengthy holidays and need kennels that we can trust to, not only look after our dog but also give him the exercise that he needs. Annette is clearly a passionate dog lover and, critically for us, she takes them all out every day for long runs over Exmoor or down to the beach. Our dog clearly loves being in these kennels and comes home in excellent health, happy and well exercised. We are delighted to have found such a caring environment for our dog and thoroughly recommend these kennels.
I don't know where to start with the compliments for Hairy Holidays, Annette (the Owner) is superb, she helped us at the 11th hour with our dog who was unexpectedly in season, if it wasn't for Annette, we would of had to of cancelled our holiday in North Devon. Annette's Kennels are like brand new, very clean and tidy, she has a large garden for the dogs to run about in and also has about 8 acres of land down the road for the dogs to play together in. Our dog had an amazing time and it was also an amazing price. If we ever holiday in Devon again, my dog will definitely be staying with Hairy Holidays even if its an hour or 2 out of our way.
