Homebody, travel enthusiast w/ a love for cats & washing dishes to unwind
Can’t thank Joyce enough for giving us a piece of mind during our month abroad. Right from the start, she was kind, thoughtful, professional and easy to communicate with. She took great and loving care of our two cats and our plants have never looked happier! She went above and beyond to love on our kitties including making them little forts to play in. Joyce is an easy 5 star recommendation and we would ask her back again any time!

Sharon and Ryne were my first sitters on this site and have set a very high benchmark! They were great with my dog Ollie and sent regular picture updates. I was especially impressed they let the apartment cleaned and did laundry and dishes which was much appreciated after a long trip.

Nick and Patricia were the best. They did an amazing job taking care of my dog who needs a lot of activity. They were very communicative, sent pictures and updates everyday. They showed up exactly on time. They also cleaned my place and did the sheets and made the bed before leaving. Can’t recommend them enough.

It was a pleasure to have Nick sit for us again. He was communicative throughout our time away and sent us daily photos and videos of the cats. We came back to a clean house and three cats that were obviously pampered and cared for while we were away.

Throughout the sit, Jennifer and Sandy kept us informed. Their communication was excellent, letting us know all of our cats’ antics while we were away. And they sent lots of pictures and videos showing that our cats were getting lots of love, attention, and care. We were very impressed and pleased with how well everyone bonded. When we got home, our house was clean, tidy, and 100% ready for our return. We recommend Jennifer and Sandy very highly. They’re wonderful housesitters.

Mike came alone and was amazing. Within 5 min of meeting him, all three (2 did and a cat) were enamored and comfortable. He went above and beyond taking care of the house, watering the plants, and providing love and care for my fur and feather family. I would 100% recommend him.

Elise was terrific. She didn't hesitate to call the vet and notify me when cat decided to swallow rubber band. She was very concerned about cat. I really appreciate Elise. Very professional. I've had the pleasure of having her in my home twice now. Would highly recommend her.

Cung was a wonderful cat sitter and housesitter and we would happily invite him back again. He was excellent with our cats and sent plenty of photos, and also left the house impeccably clean. We had to come back a day early and so we got to spend some time with him which we enjoyed as well. 10 out of 10 recommend!
I never met Joi because due to her work, she arrived after I left and was gone before I returned home. This wasn't a problem at all. She was very self-sufficient and seemed to find all that she needed in my house. The house looked exactly like I left it and my cat seemed very content when I returned. Apparently they had a nightly routine of Luna getting brushed. Joi is a very experienced sitter and it shows.
Susan and Miranda are amazing! I've had the pleasure of working with many sitters and they are truly exceptional. They were great at keeping in touch, sent lots of updates, asked good questions, really bonded with the cats, clearly very experienced working with animals and understanding their needs, and generally lovely to deal with. They were really patient putting up with a whole bunch of deliveries and even assembled a spare bed! They also left the place spotless with clean sheets on the bed. I'm pretty sure the cats loved Susan and Miranda more than us by the end of their stay! I'd highly recommend them to anyone and would love to have them stay again any time.
Kira was the best sitter we have ever had! I chose Kira because of her reviews, ability to sit during the dates I needed and willingness to communicate with my daughter/neighbor who co-parents Colby with us. I am always a bit anxious about having someone in my home and trusting them with our fluffy son. Kira put us at ease almost immediately. I received photos and videos everyday throughout the stay. I got updates on Colby’s activity and the fun they were having together. My heart felt full knowing that Colby was being well loved and cared for. Additionally, Kira was so kind to keep us posted on any deliveries that arrived at the house. Finally, when I arrived home, the house was tidy and clean! Again, I am so grateful that Kira was there keeping the house and my cat safe! I hope she will come back and sit again. I know Colby would love to see her again.
Joi did a wonderful job caring for my two cats and two guinea pigs, as well as caring for my home! She is coming back in November for a long sit while I am out of the country and we all can’t wait. Joi had experience with rabbits and jumped right in with guinea pig care. She is so calm around them that they were sitting on her lap day one! She spent time preparing their vegetables and kept their enclosure and room clean, which requires daily effort. She even washed the floor mats in their room so it was fresh when I returned home. She went above and beyond sending me daily photos and videos so I could see that everyone was healthy and happy. It was apparent to me that she spent a lot of time with my pets, which is very important so they don’t become stressed and lonely when I am away. Joi also took excellent care of my two cats. They receive daily wet food with some medication and she ensured that they received it on time. My cats barely noticed when I returned because they got so much attention from Joi. She took excellent care of my front garden flowers and my tomato and herb hydroponic gardens. These take some daily attention and time in the summer, and I returned home to them looking great! Joi is a very caring, clean, and thoughtful sitter and I hope she comes back many more times!
Daniel and Vasylyna were incredible house sitters and we would welcome them back to sit for us again any time they are available! They were fantastic communicators, making sure to work out details far in advance and they sent frequent picture updates of our animals which made us so happy while we were away. When the power went out in the neighborhood while they were here leading to a technology issue with our alarm system, they handled everything well. Upon our return, the house was clean, the garden was thriving and well cared for, and our dog and cat were clearly very loved while we were away - in fact our dog was sooooo sad to see them leave! I had the pleasure of getting to know them a bit before I left, and they are such a kind, adventurous, and great couple. I would highly recommend having Daniel and Vasylyna take care of your house, plants, and animals!
We can not exaggerate the care and love Juliet and Laurent gave to our cat, Piero, during his the last few weeks of life. While we left for our trip thinking he merely had a bladder infection, his symptoms turned for the worse a weeks into their sit and later revealed he had cancer. No one would wish their sitter to need to hospice their cat but Juliet and Laurent showed such compassion for Piero and volunteered to be with him when we made the decision to put him down. It was an emotional time for all of us and we will be forever grateful to our two caring cat and house sitters. We have had many fantastic housesitters through zeewoi but Juliet and Laurent top the list. Their professionalism, constant communication and compassion were exceptional. Should you have the opportunity to have them in your home, do not hesitate to book them, you will have no regrets. We do, however, regret that they had such a short time with Piero and had to experience such a painful event.
Oh wow! Everyone should be so lucky to have Nicholas and Veerle watch their house and pets. These lovely people are pros! They communicated early and often, were super accommodating to some last minute changes (it was originally going to be only our cats to watch but we decided to keep the dog home as well so that added to the schedule and care needs) and they left the house spotless and all set up for another sitter who came in after them. We didn’t get the chance to meet because my departure and arrival times but I dearly hope I get to in the future because they were just great! I even heard how nice they were from My neighbors who say them out walking our dog. :-) They also sent regular pictures of the pets which look like pro-photography! Cannot recommend this couple enough! Your pets and house will be in good hands!
Jenima is an excellent sitter! She is organized, communicative and flexible throughout the stay. We needed a sitter at the last minute because Jazz got sick, and Jenima saved us. We left a little worried about him, but Jenima took care of him really well and kept us informed. Cats love her! We definitely recommend her to take care of your pets!
Chris was a fantastic cat sitter for our elderly and high maintenance kitty. Chris was the perfect combination of responsible and on top of her medication needs while also being calm and relaxed about her picky eating habits and the need to monitor her food and medication consumption. He was prompt, easy to get a hold of, responsible, and overall, a great sitter. I would definitely recommend him and most certainly hope to have him stay with her again.
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?

I brought my dog here for a herding evaluation and it was a lot of fun! I’m glad I didn’t let the bad reviews deter me on trying out this place. Not sure what’s up with the reviews, but we had a great experience! The instructor Ashlee was nice, very knowledgeable and open to answer any questions I had. She also explained the whole process during the evaluation. My dog loved it and was exhausted afterwards - she got a good sleep during our drive home. Since she passed, I plan on taking her back for herding lessons. I read lots of reviews regarding barking, and if the dog is herding/ working barking is totally fine. I’m assuming that what is not fine is if a dog is barking at everything and everyone while making their way in, which makes sense to me. If you have a dog who is reactive towards other people, dogs and farm animals, this might not be the place for your dog and that’s okay. No need to leave bad review without giving full context. Again, I’m glad I went to this place! Parking is easy. I was sent directions on how to sign in and I was a bit confused, but I asked one of the employees and was able to sign in. I can’t speak for the boarding experience, but for the time I was there for the herding evaluation, me and my dog enjoyed the place. It was really awesome seeing all the border collies and sheep working. Can’t wait to be back!
My experience at Fido's Farm was one of the greatest days of my (and my border collie's) life, hands down. I took my guy in for a herding assessment and worked with Ashlee, who is a dog-whispering angel. She was patient, gentle, and kind, and fully explained everything about sheep herding and border collies as she walked my dog through the steps of herding. I'm passionate about my dog, and of course I had a ton of questions and she graciously answered each and every one without complaint. My dog is 5 years old and it had always been a dream of mine to see if he had the herding instinct, but I had delayed due to the pandemic, etc. After about ten minutes of ignoring the sheep, Ashlee was able to help him "turn on" and from then on out he wouldn't stop running laps around the sheep trying to herd them. It was the COOLEST thing I've ever seen in my entire life. My dog and I have been through a lot over the years, and to see him exercise his deepest instincts for the first time is a moment I will never forget. Like I said, this was one of the best days of my whole life! All thanks to Ashlee. She was warm, friendly, and such a gem. I would recommend Fido's Farm to ALL my herding dog friends.
A working sheep farm with well tended animals and a primary focus on providing dog owners enjoyable pursuits and boundless learning opportunities for them and their pets. Curated lessons, clinics and competitions are provided on a regular basis with an emphasis on fun and fellowship. Great owner. This place is a treasure for the surrounding area and people come for the quality from far and wide.
I contacted Fido’s Farm after hearing positive comments about their ability to work with high energy herding breeds. I have a very sweet natured 3 yo Border Collie and I needed to find boarding for about a week in November. I was informed the dog needed to complete a Temperament Test over 5-6 hours and would cost $35.00. When I arrived, the staff person “E” came to review the shot record, then took our dog back to start the test. While driving home, I was called and told my dog did not pass the test. He had only been there about 30 minutes. I returned to pick up my dog. E told me that my dog vocalized to much and was scratching the kennel so hard he was going to hurt his feet. Our dog is a young Border Collie, he was in an unfamiliar place, and he, like most dogs, uses his voice when he feels threatened. I was basically told they couldn’t board him and E told me to find a place where he do herding or do agility. I was asked to pay full amount even though my dog was only there for less than 30 minutes. I would not recommend boarding your dog at Fido’s. The staff member didn’t seem to care or even take time to know our dog, who has a very sweet nature.
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS WITH THESE PEOPLE!! Wouldn’t trust these people with a pet rock, let alone a living animal you care about. We have used Fido’s twice now and both times our dog has come back with issues. The first time our dog had bug bites and scabs all over his body. The second time he came back with an ear infection in both ears. Neither time the staff mentioned anything about issues and stated our dog was doing great, which leads me to believe they are very inattentive. Additionally, they said our dog peed his bed, which means they must of left him locked up a long time since he can easily go overnight to 10 hours without going to the bathroom while at home. Furthermore, we paid for extra 1 on 1 time and came to find out after picking him up that they just let him out to play with other dogs more often and didn’t give him any extra human interaction.
**UPDATE** My dog and I were so excited I could finally get her to Fidos farm for daycare. She needed to go out for an interview, never happened before, they called after an hour and asked me to come and pick her up because she was too shy with the other dogs. I knew she was getting a little dog shy because we had been locked up during the pandemic, this is why I wanted to her to go there. I know for a fact this would have never happened at the old Fido's farm, so I don't know what's going on there now. I can say that I am very disappointed about the daycare, I am also disappointed because now I need to find a new place to board her because if it's not safe for her to be there for daycare she certainly is not safe for boarding. I know that a lot of good stuff happens at Fido's, but I am disappointed. Now I have to go find another safe place for my dog, thank you Been going to Fido's for 20 years, it's always my first choice. You won't find better people.
Not a big fan. The staff did not make eye contact with me or really make me feel welcome or even address my presence. My dog didn’t like the place. It seems kind of dirty. Just a few hours and my dog smelled like really bad, I wasn’t sure where I was supposed to go. Not bad people. Just didn’t feel right.
Fidos farm has been a saving Grace for our dogs, great for socializing and learning pack manners as well as a caring staff and a great place for your dog to spend the day
We have regularly been taking our dog to Fido's for daycare and boarding for over a year and a half now, and we could not be more pleased! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I can trust that they will treat my dog with care and respect. My dog's social skills, confidence and responsiveness to requests for good behavior have continually improved since going there! She is becoming her very best doggie-self! She comes home happy, thoroughly played out and clearly totally loves it there! We could not imagine a better place for her. Many thanks to all of you at Fido's Farm!
Like others have shared, after several years of using Fido's Farm to board, our dog was suddenly banned over an alleged barking issue. There were no warnings or suggestions previously given. Do they have the right to refuse any dog? Sure. However, I would argue owners also have the right to know ahead of time regarding any potential issues that would lead to their dog's expulsion.
Our first experience with Nelly's Ark was fabulous. I have two, very bonded lab/gsp pups, littermates 9 years old. Much to my surprise they did very well and we're very happy. I was also thrilled with the results. Of course they did not need clipping but they needed good baths to get a lot of hair out and they needed a good nail clipping as well. This is not something that they do willingly at home. One person they're even exclaimed how happy my boy was when she met him in the bath! I would have bet a lot of money that he would have had his tail between his legs and been shaking during his bath but no, he was greeting everybody with a smile and a tail wag. How could I give this place anything less than five stars!!
Going with a good middle ground 3 star review as I haven't had my pet actually stay here but I took a tour that left a bad taste in my mouth. There is only someone there about 3 times a day according to our tour guide plus kennels are wire walls, this makes me incredibly anxious for reactive or aggressive dogs who they say they will take anyways. No walks are given, just a short yard time. The facility seems run down and has an overpowering chemical smell. Just be cautious please. I went in to take a look before I scheduled to have my dogs there and this place only set me on edge, there's no way I'd feel comfortable leaving them there.
Our dog Honey Bear is a Chihuahua that hates people and will not trust anyone except her own pack, her family of humans. We worry about leaving her anywhere but this time we had no choice. She has a hard character as she will trust no one, but thankfully she was warm and safe and cared for for 5 days and 4 nights last Thanksgiving weekend. She was happy to see us and recovered quickly from her melancholy of missing us. We were thankful she was well cared for in spite of her being a little difficult with strangers as she always is. I've had other places turn us down because they couldn't handle her, but at Nelly's Ark they took good care of her and we are very thankful.
Adora Dee has been going to Nelly's for approximately 6 years and she loves her groomer Kelly, if she is happy I am too. Thank you Nelly's Ark 🙂🥰 …
Our dogs LOVE coming here! The staff is amazing, communicative, and truly love the pets that stay here. ❤️
Our family had a Great Wolf lodge trip planned. We decided to board our 20-month-old, intact male GSD. My wife searched kennels in the surrounding area. Nelly's Ark came up as the best. There is a reason. First off, the facility is clean. You can tell they take pride in its appearance. Second, the staff is top-notch. They were professional, friendly, and respectful. The extra special care they provided for my boy Dutch, was immensely appreciated. I would recommend them to anyone looking to board their pup. Thanks Nelly's. 10/10
I can't say enough good things about Nelly's! They truly care about our dogs and go the extra mile to be sure they're comfortable - whether that's during their grooming session or a few day boarding stay. I feel good dropping my dogs off here, I know they're meticulously cared for. Highly, highly recommend this wonderful business.
My dog went in looking like a used mop! She has long hair and was a mess! She came out looking like a young puppy! Totally beautiful! The staff were kind and friendly.
Have taken our dog Lady there for boarding twice and will again for future trips. She's been well cared for while we were gone for a week both times. Staff is friendly and loving, you can tell they care. Boarding fees are reasonable as well.
Nelly's has been an institution to the locals for pet grooming and boarding for many years. We have used the grooming facility for nail trims a couple times as our prior groomer retired. The price is a little more expensive than other groomers we have used, as we paid $12 cash per each dog. The location is off of a busy highway and right next to a home, so it can be Abita confusing if you are coming from the freeway. Thankfully, they have a couple spots you can pull in that lead to the grooming area. The waiting are is very small and not set up to wait inside for appointments so if you are early for an appointment, keep that in mind. The technician seemed qualified in not only our dogs breed but were educated in the type of nails our dogs have in order to make it as good of an experience for our dogs as possible. One thing of note, they do have office pets wandering around the office, so if you have an uneasy pet around other pets, you may want to go into the office without your pet first to notify the front staff. The front desk have always been courteous and quick to serve any customers that have come in while I was there.
Super knowledgeable and helpful training. Best puppy help, my full recommendation. Sara, at Lead Me On, helped us so much with learning how to communicate and train our husky pups. We often now receive compliments on how well they behave for their young age.
I did lots of research before settling on Lead Me On for Board and Train for both of our Aussies! The facility is a bit out in the country but worth every minute of the drive. It is spacious and well laid out for board and train. We have been so impressed by the staff. They genuinely care for our dogs and you can see it in the end result. The dogs are trained through reward based behaviors and NOT e collars. We highly recommend Lead Me On!
The only place we trust to help us care for our dogs when we need to board. The staff is very knowledgeable, well trained, and caring towards our pups. We have also done group and one on one training through the classes they offer, have seen positive results and learned good techniques for anxious dogs.
Our four month old doberman,Trip, loves going to training everyday! This is his second week and the change is amazing. We have a long way to go but the trailers at Lead me on are fabulous!! We're only going to get better!! This is an awesome place and I highly recommend them!
Rae and the team are great! They are teaching me how to understand what is happening with my rescue husky's chemistry when he is triggered and how to de-escalate him. Which is good for mom, but more importantly for him with less anxiety. It is a lot of work on everyone's part and doesn't change overnight, but it is getting better and I am so thankful! I have learned so much. I was so desperate to get help and help my baby. And now we are also working with my rescue husky puppy. Rae is wonderful. She truly does love my babies. And everyone is so good to and with them. Just a fantastic place and I am so happy I found them. Photo is my huskies on an enrichment session while being boarded there that they sent me!
Our dog went in for the 5 week boot camp. Their trainers were impressive and professional. This is a positive training place which I really appreciated. It’s our go to place for doggie day care and kenneling. This was one of the best finds for our family and pup. Wonderful facility and well kept. Dog training went very well for our dog. She made us proud and continues to make us proud ever since training.
Great place who teaches with positivity. I have taken different classes and have also taken a private lesson! It helped me to understand the why behind my dog's behavior and how to teach him to make better choices! Easy to schedule via an app once you have taken the introduction course. Rae is phenomenal, and Rook is always excited to see her!
Our puppy girl was enrolled in doggie training here and she did great. The trainers are so patient and sweet, she learned a lot. She still goes back for boarding and loves it😁 …
Our dog had the best boarding experience here. Thank you!
Amazing experience! We did a 2 week bootcamp with our 5 month Australian shepherd. The trainers are very knowledgeable on positive techniques. Each staff member was genuinely loving and thoughtful. We're so happy with the results for our dog as well the confidence we've gained. We look forward to additional training as needed.
I was going on a little vacation 2 weeks ago (for the first time in years!) and was very nervous leaving my 2 dogs because it's just something we've never done. My Vet actually suggested McKenna Kennels, and I trust her advice without question. I have an American Bully who was a rescue dog and was so severely abused by her previous owner and she's also an older dog who's very attached to me. I was so afraid she's be scared or traumatized if I left her anywhere. My other dog is a very active, energetic 7 month Olde English Bulldogge that needs constant play time, lol. I wasn't sure how she'd do. As soon as we dropped them off, I saw how nice, clean and organized they were, and I knew they'd do a good job. I was so happy when I went to pick them up, and worried they'd be upset, or confused about why I left them. I thought they'd run into my arms, and be so relieved to be going home. My pup, Astrid wanted to stay, and my older girl acted like she'd been on her own vacation! It was so funny! It was clear they did an EXCELLENT job with both of them, and we were so happy with McKenna Kennels, we're going on another mini vacation this weekend and feel more than happy to drop them off tonight! I've been so severely ill with Multiple Sclerosis for over 7 years, and was unable to do anything, or go anywhere for years. This was the first time I've been well enough to walk. I only mention that because being able to trust them with our dogs has allowed me to get out and live a little more with my family, and that's such a blessing beyond measure. I'd recommend McKenna to anyone looking to board their dogs. They came back happier than when we left them!
Okay so let's start with the negative First and that is just that the bigger dogs stay outside. Are dogs not used to sleeping outside even if it's covered and it feels like inside but it's still kind of outside. Other than that it is amazing how wonderful this place seems to be. We took our dogs just to sort of figure out the place and most people did not know that we were just visiting and yet people interacted with them at least three or four times in the 2o to 40 minutes we were there. While they were outside in the day kennel they have a pool they have toys they have water and they have all this interaction happening. Of course there are other dogs around and there's a lot of barking but our dogs seemed comfortable enough with this visit which was our first time being there ever that they just kind of hung out and one of them even played in the pool for a while so that was good. Also we are incredibly picky and these folks were not only happy to be there and on task with whatever they were doing but they were also very friendly and accommodating because we have older dogs and they have some medications and they have some other issues and these folks seem to be more than happy to take all of this stuff on. Long story short we're incredibly happy to be able to count on these people
I think my dogs look forward to our next vacation more than the kids do. The kids have to stay on an air mattress in a guest room, the dogs get a resort along with pedicures and a spa 🤣 Honestly, they were happy to see us when we came but weren’t too keen to leave. Will definitely use in the future. …
I'm leaving for vacation June 14th & it's for a week road trip. Boarding wasn't even on my mind until my plan A didn't work out. I was extremely nervous leaving my German shepherd 7month old for a partial day (trial run) the other day. However when I picked him up after a few hours play I was pleasantly surprised. I know it's only a couple of hours and can't really go by that but I had one tired happy puppy when I picked up! I liked how informative they were, charged me half of what I was expecting to pay. I'm taking him again next week so he can get more used to it & have Decided to use them as care while we go on our California trip. I like the option of pictures & updates as well. Thanks McKenna kennels!
I looked into bringing my dog here but when I mentioned it to a friend, she told me to never go there. As her AND a friend had bad experiences there. I also found out that they DO NOT have any staff there after they close, until the next morning. Not one dog is taken care of for over 12 hours. So if your pet has anxiety, medication, special treatment or you just expect you're paying for good overnight care, you definitely are not, do not go there! You're getting ripped off. I wouldn't dare spend a dime on a business who has no care for the animals, just the income it provides to them.
My dog likes it and it’s convenient so we take him there. I wouldn’t take him here if he had special needs though based on the reviews, we have also picked him up from days of boarding with his food completely unopened etc. Also don’t ask anyone at the desk questions, don’t expect a hello, they’re very much ‘give us your pet and get the F out.’ Any interaction is a bother to them and they make it clear that it’s a bother to them. We have come here on and off over the years and it’s gone downhill in the last year or so.
first time to bring our puppy to this place, so cant say much. How I wish they give us a tour or show us the place where my puppy will stay .
McKenna Kennels is simply amazing. My dogs absolutely love it. I had a very last minute family emergency occur on the morning of my pick-up time. They were SO understanding and helpful and extended my dogs stay with no issues. They have always been flexible..and I know my dogs are taken care of. I can’t say enough good things about this business!
They were so incredible in taking my dog last minute. They sent me the info for vet records quickly and he was able to be scheduled for day care the next day. He came home tired from a great day of play. The staff was so kind, professional and helpful.
Not the best experience. Medicine was not given to our dog even though they asked and noted in the paperwork upon arrival. Was told over the phone to make an account to receive pictures, made the account to receive photos and they didn’t send any so we didn’t know how she was. Called a couple of times to ask and received vague responses each time. The pick up was really awkward almost like something had happened, very weird. They didn’t say if she eat, if she was good etc. Our dog was wet, her bed was wet, her blanket had mulch in it, her bag of treats was sealed closed. Arrived home without the little bag we send with her things(including the medication), thought we left it but founded inside the bag of food. Overall a very weird experience. This was during Thanksgiving week, maybe they had more dogs that they could handle and affected their capacity to care for each dog individually but… it wasn’t a good experience. I wish we could know if she really had a good time or not. Please keep in mind that this was our experience and maybe not reflect the experience of others who has an amazing experience with them.
