Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

I never met Joi because due to her work, she arrived after I left and was gone before I returned home. This wasn't a problem at all. She was very self-sufficient and seemed to find all that she needed in my house. The house looked exactly like I left it and my cat seemed very content when I returned. Apparently they had a nightly routine of Luna getting brushed. Joi is a very experienced sitter and it shows.
Kathy and Ron have sat for us several times in the past and have always been excellent. They are our "go-to" pet and house sitters and we always check their availability before we post a sit. They are trustworthy, organized, communicate very well, and take great care of our cats and our house. We hope they will continue pet sitting for many years to come!
Kira was the best sitter we have ever had! I chose Kira because of her reviews, ability to sit during the dates I needed and willingness to communicate with my daughter/neighbor who co-parents Colby with us. I am always a bit anxious about having someone in my home and trusting them with our fluffy son. Kira put us at ease almost immediately. I received photos and videos everyday throughout the stay. I got updates on Colby’s activity and the fun they were having together. My heart felt full knowing that Colby was being well loved and cared for. Additionally, Kira was so kind to keep us posted on any deliveries that arrived at the house. Finally, when I arrived home, the house was tidy and clean! Again, I am so grateful that Kira was there keeping the house and my cat safe! I hope she will come back and sit again. I know Colby would love to see her again.
Wow, what a find Justin is! I feel as though I won a lottery. As I was revelling in the communication we were having during his stay, I looked over his profile and realized either that he had updated it during his stay OR I never even read it. I was so impressed with his initial application that described multiple stays taking care of cats in Turkey that I knew he was going to be a great choice. So I'm not sure that I even read his profile or reviews. Turned out...he was more than I could have EVER hoped for. Justin is VERY organized and clear with his communication. Just as--or maybe more--important, he is a poster child for what zeewoi can be: more than just an economical way to get a pet sitter or a place to stay. Justin embraces the barter economy and the opportunity it presents to get to know people. Although we only met the day that I turned the house and my 2 cats over to his care, we had delightful communication throughout his stay. He wanted to be sure he was providing the right care to all living and non-living elements of my home as well as just chat beyond what we'd had an opportunity to cover when we were face to face on the handoff day. Bottom line: I'd have Justin back even if I wasn't going anywhere! I've met a friend. And my neighbors did as well! Oh yes, and my two cats were well looked after, the house was in ship shape, and Justin was able to brief the next sitter in person (I'd had to extend my time away and Justin already had another commitment). To say I felt confident leaving my pets and home in Justin's care is an understatement. Justin is a real adventurer and believer in the power of both human and animal connection. Without a doubt, I would recommend him as a sitter...and a friend! Thank you, Justin for a great example of how to wrestle so much more meaning out of zeewoi.
Raquel was simply terrific! She and her husband, Miguel, had to fill in at the last minute for another sitter who had a death in her family. This meant that the length of the stay and sitting they had originally signed up for doubled. Completely undaunted, they did a GREAT job for us. Our cat and dog got lots of love and affection, and plenty of exercise, food, and rest. Our house and yard were cared for with equal conscientiousness. It was wonderful for us to be able to rely so completely on these super zeewoi. We recommend them 100 percent!
We can not exaggerate the care and love Juliet and Laurent gave to our cat, Piero, during his the last few weeks of life. While we left for our trip thinking he merely had a bladder infection, his symptoms turned for the worse a weeks into their sit and later revealed he had cancer. No one would wish their sitter to need to hospice their cat but Juliet and Laurent showed such compassion for Piero and volunteered to be with him when we made the decision to put him down. It was an emotional time for all of us and we will be forever grateful to our two caring cat and house sitters. We have had many fantastic housesitters through zeewoi but Juliet and Laurent top the list. Their professionalism, constant communication and compassion were exceptional. Should you have the opportunity to have them in your home, do not hesitate to book them, you will have no regrets. We do, however, regret that they had such a short time with Piero and had to experience such a painful event.
Elyse was one of the best pet sitters we've ever met! Couldn't recommend her more. We hope she stays at our place again. She sent many pictures of our beloved cats throughout our absence. We returned to our cats seeming relaxed and happy as ever. She also left our apartment sparkling clean. 10/10 :)
If you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies and your house while you're away, Daniel is your guy! I had discovered zeewoi just a couple of weeks before I was to leave on vacation and I was not only apprehensive if the website was too good to be true, but also under a real time crunch. I reached out to over 100 local sitters and several possibilities fell through. I was confident I would find the right sitter and when Daniel applied for the sit and I started to text and converse with him, I knew I had found the perfect sitter for my two cats! Daniel was upbeat and positive, articulate and personable, warm and caring, and he asked all the right questions about Lilly and Eli (I hadn't had the time to complete my Welcome Guide, yet!?!). I shared that I had an easy cat and problem cat -- Lilly, who is sweet, social and eats dry food, and Eli who is skittish, was periodically pooping outside the kitty litter box and was eating prescription canned food twice a day mixed with a probiotic and stool firmer. I asked if he thought he was up for the job and he happily said he was. Since he flew all the was from Chicago, I thought the least my husband and I could do was pick him up at the airport. When he arrived, he pulled out his notebook. He patiently walked with me as I reviewed kitty care, showed him around the house, and where he would be sleeping. He immediately picked up Lilly who was excited about meeting her new friend and Eli bugged out and down the stairs to the basement (his favorite hiding place!). We got Daniel connected to the internet, set him up at our dining room table and headed off to airport, leaving our house and kitties in the best of hands. Daniel wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and assured while we were away. He made sure to text with me every other day (he had asked my preference earlier), sent photos of Lilly being her cute self while Eli hid during the day although he gave me assurances that he was eating his food and using the litter box (there were a few accidents, but Daniel never complained about these additional duties). When we returned from our vacation, the house was also spotless and well cared for and Daniel had even washed the sheets for me! It is with utter happiness and complete confidence that I recommend Daniel as a fantastic Sitter. He is trustworthy, responsible, caring, and competent, and you can rest assured that both your house and sweet pets will be watched over and treated with TLC -- and will truly be in the best of hands while you are away!
Karen was an extraordinary house and pet sitter who I hope to invite back again soon. You would be extremely fortunate to have her take care of your pets and home. From the very beginning she radiated calmness, knowledge, caring and curiosity. We had a great initial conversation where Karen answered questions I didn't even know I should be asking, and asked excellent questions so she could be prepared and understand the special needs for both my cat and home. She flew into my city the day before I was leaving and stayed at a nearby hostel so that we could meet in person and do a walk through of my home. They say pets have an intuitive nature about people, and I knew Karen would be a winner when my normally very shy/nervous cat came right up and let her pet him. Karen sent wonderful pictures and updates while I was gone and asked questions when she wasn't sure about something. When I returned home everything was spotless and my cat was content. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better house sitter experience. Thank you Karen!
Rick and Sally are marvelous cat sitters and we would gladly have them back anytime. We highly recommend them to any and all pet owners. They arrived when they said they would and were ready to go when we returned, making sure our cats were present before departing. Our home was left spotless, undoubtedly better than we left it for them. We can't urge you enough to engage them if you can!
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Zeewoi.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $10/week per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Zeewoi.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Zeewoi cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
i absolutely love this place! the employees learned my dog's name after the first time and always recognize her by name when she's dropped off. it's clean and welcoming and the staff are very friendly. i love the doggy cams so i can see what my pup is up to during the day. it's super easy to schedule with them. and i love the report cards they send when my dog stays!! and as a bonus, sometimes they have little photoshoots!!
Gibbs and I just finished our last training session with Colin Anderson. He’s the BEST! He set clear goals for each lesson. He does “duel teaching “ because I learned right along with my dog. Colin is kind, knowledgeable, and positive. Gibbs loves him. Great experience!
My dog absolutely loves this place! I was nervous to start taking him to daycare, but now he literally leaps out of the car to run in and see all his friends. The staff is amazing and attentive and the facility is super clean. I also love that I can check in on him with the cameras they have. I can go about my day knowing he's well taken care of and having a blast!
My Gabby was adopted from the CR pound. She has separation anxiety. And some major fears. But she is so excited when we go to daycare. And happy the whole rest of the day. She is my princess and they treat her as such. So much love is there for animals. The staff is above and beyond wonderful and kind. Thank you so much.
My dog has only gone a couple of times but he has loved it every time, and always comes home one tired snuggly boy. I LOVE that they have an free introductory day for your dog when they first sign up so they can make sure your dog doesn’t have any issues with the other dogs (or even possibly staff) there. I also love that you can make reservations for all their services online. They make it so drop off can be as quick as possible during those busy mornings with their thorough questions that you answer when you first make your dog’s account online. Oh, and the report cards with all the pictures of my dog, what he’s done, and his friends absolutely make my day. He gets so much mental stimulation there with all the other dogs, and I love that he gets a chance to be super social outside of the pack we have at home. So far, in our few visits, there is not a single thing I would change about this company. I love their desire to run a safe, happy, welcoming doggy daycare, and how the staff seems to truly love all the pups as if they are all their own. HIGHLY recommend!
Great staff and facilities and our dog always loves when we arrive. We always feel comfortable leaving our pup here!
They recognized Viper by the second day he came in, and they greet him by name now. They have webcams so you can check in on your pup throughout the day, and it’s so fun to watch the dogs interacting. They also send the cutest report cards about how the pupper did throughout the day. Viper always tries to sit by the door in the morning now to be sure he catches his ride to daycare and he’s always super excited to go. Cedar Run also offers bulk daycare packages, which is my favorite way to buy to save some money. Definitely recommend.
Great place to leave your dog(s) for daycare and boarding, they have video feed so you can check in on your dog(s). They also give dog(s) a bath when you board them, not daycare. We have had our dogs board there and they love it.
I was very worried leaving my dog Stella for the first time. After watching her on the cameras I realized how much fun she was having. It really put me and my new wife at ease so we could enjoy our honeymoon. Thank you
Our puppy LOVES it here. They do an awesome job grooming and taking care of him during doggie daycare.
Lucy loves Hia Dog! I love how friendly the staff is. I enjoy when they send me email updates and pictures of Lucy during her time there. I highly recommend this place!!
My dog has been a member for months and I'm thoroughly pleased with the experience. Clean facility, friendly and helpful staff, prices are reasonable, and amazing grooming! In fact, my dog received his best grooming cut here! When I need to board my dog, I have complete confidence that he’ll be well cared for! I’m so happy that my Sunday is apart of the Hia-Dog family!
They took great care of our Beagle! Sent us pictures. Very happy we found Hia Dog boarding!
Hia Dog took very good care of our Galgo doggies while we were on vacation. Highly recommend.
It's been great taking our dog here. He seems to really enjoy it, and he always comes home with all his puppy energy mostly used up! The staff have been great to work with, and they're great at responding to questions.
Nice facility. Quite expensive for what you get. They could add cameras so you can see what your dogs are doing during the day.
Friendly staff. Solid boarding & daycare program. I love that they email me pics of my pets playing during doggy daycare. Their weekend hrs for pick-up/drop-off are super. Very nice facility. They even have a pool for the dogs.
Faye and her team are amazing. We were gone for 10 days and our dog was so well cared for while we were away. The facility is super clean and there is 24 hour supervision unlike our previous boarding place. Faye even sent pictures of our dog playing and making friends. I cannot recommend Hia Dog enough. 💙 …
Took my dogs for a meet and greet so they can stay when needed for boarding or day care. Facility is very nice, and clean. The owner, and staff very nice and and seemed very good to deal with. Looking forward to be able to leave the dogs there when we will be gone a couple of days. I am hoping others who need to board or need day care will give them a call and visit.
Excellent place! Boarded our Pit here, paid for the works - daycare, swimming, play time. The staff sent us pics of our guy while we were away. Awesome place HIGHLY RECOMMEND
The owner was rude, short with me and hung up on me when I called in asking about vaccines. I noticed that there was an additional vaccine that my cats did not have. I believe it is due to them being inside cats, not sure. I called and asked about it and she stated "it's the law for your cats to have this vaccine" failing to mention that it's a specific Iowa law that requires cats to be vaccinated against feline distemper, before entering commercial establishments, such as boarding kennels, or being taken into the care of a dealer or rescue. The owner made me feel as though I am to blame. My vet would've and should've talked to me about this but they didn't. Additional, a couple years ago I was able to board one of my cats, Sebastian, with no problem even though he didn't have all of his vaccines. So it goes into question how sound their business practices are. It's too bad, they had a decent set up for cat boarding. SMH.
I always use CCCT for my boarding needs when I go on vacation. I have two dogs which board separately and the woman owner/operator always fits me in, sometimes last minute. The space is charming and well kept. Dogs have a pool, trampoline and more in the open area. It’s located in a residential neighborhood near Ellis Blvd and convenient for me living on the Southeast side of town. I can pick my dogs on the way home from the airport.
We take our dog here to play 2-3 times per week and she loves it. She has plenty of space to run. Glenda is great.
Our little pup Wilson stayed here for one night, while we attended a wedding in the Colonies. The owner was very kind, practical, and patient. Wilson was able to be near the office, that was reassuring for us and his care. Thank you. The facility is well cared for, nicely landscaped, parking is in the wide alley close to the office door. And courtesy pooch poop bags at the boulevard for customers or the public.
I can not say enough good things about this place. My current dog has never acted so excited to go anywhere and absolutely loves Glenda. He has been boarded a few times and gone for daycare only once. After daycare his 1 1/2 year old self was happy and worn out. I will definitely be utilizing this option again. My last dog had epilepsy and, other than my vet, this is the only place I trusted to board him. I highly recommend!!
Glenda takes amazing care of our large and high energy pup. We know he is in great and capable hands when we board him. Her facilities are always clean and well maintained. Pricing is very fair.
Very Clean, Very Friendly, Always Professional ... We have always have a great experience with boarding our Labrador at this establishment. Lots of room and Large kennels, they even have a "play" area that is included with an overnight stay. > * Make sure to bring your own food for your pet as they do Not provide that * My family and I are consistently impressed with the excellence of this business. We live 2 blocks away and this is very convenient and affordable for us. If you live on the NW (Time-Check) side of Cedar Rapids Iowa, they are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Our dog always has a great time at either day care or when we board her. The set up is pretty sweet. Our dog comes home well exersized and she is excited when we pull in to the parking lot. We only board our cats when we can not leave them home and the kitty condos are better than a cage. They have a room for exersize as well.
HORRIBLE! Our dog came back with a massive bite wound over her eye. They had used an electric bark collar on her WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION OR GIVING US ANY PRIOR KNOWLEDGE that they would do so! They also implied (she definitely smelled like it) that she had been laying in her own feces in her kennel. Which is something she has never done at home in her own kennel. She was shaken up for days after we had gotten her home. She went backwards in her training which took some time to correct. She is a large, VERY social dog. I was told she only wanted to be in her kennel which I don't believe for a second. DONT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!
It stinks so bad we had to leave. I would never leave my fur babies here. The staff lady was super rude to us and we waited almost 20 minutes before we even saw her.. She acted like we were an inconvenience for her. She had a cat locked in a box outside in the sun with no water or food..
Bar none, this is the best boarding/care company in the region. The level of attention and care animals I have seen animals receiving at Cedar Run is unparalleled. I regularly receive report cards about how my dog is doing, and he always looks healthy and like he's having a great time. This is the best photo of my dog that will probably ever be taken, and they were the ones that took it. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the prices are fair for the exemplary service they provide, AND competitive with boarders in the area. I have also used their grooming services - pup has never looked better. I cannot recommend Cedar Run enough.
I have only had my dogs' nails cut so far. We have a dog bath at home so we don't need them groomed. We also have a fenced in yard and we're both retired so no need really for day care. What I liked was that the upper half of the walls when you go in are all windows so you can see the pets in the play areas and while they are being groomed. You can see your pets in the daycare online while you are away. I love the convenience of walk-in nail trims too. Their pricing is fair. We were having the vet's office do nail trims but every single time, they cut my dog's quick. So we tried Cedar Run and were very, very happy with the work they did. They seem to know how to properly trim nails.
We recently rescued a Wirehair Terrier and wanted to give her a few days a week in daycare. I looked up all locations near us and called to ask to take a look at their centers. One said we could not go into their site but Cedar Run said come over and take a look. We liked the set up and and they talked about everything available to us and how to get signed up. Our dog loves going to daycare as when it gets time to leave she starts her happy dance and when we get to the site she can't wait to get inside. I like having cameras to watch during the day and enjoy the report cards. When watching the dogs play in cameras you can set the employees watching to make sure there are no troubles and they seem to give pets and hugs to all the dogs. She comes home tired from playing which we enjoy. We are planning a trip and feel comfortable with leaving her in their care. Great people and a great place for dogs to go
My dog loves it here, and the pictures they send during at the daycare service are some of the best photos we have of our dog!
A bit pricy, but they take such good care of my three dogs. I love the report cards and the pictures the staff takes during boarding. They're great with matching dogs with the right play groups, and do a phenomenal job with my deaf canine, giving him the attention he needs and having his favorite toys for him to chase! The staff even got all three of my pups to play together, which doesn't happen often at home!
Their team has taken care of our doggos for years. We love the report cards, ability to see our pups playing, and the fact it is so dang clean in the space. They host a lot of dogs and it definitely doesn’t smell like a boarding place nor look like one.
Our 15 year old girl Maddie has been boarded at Cedar Run #1 many times over her life. We just picked her up tonight after a weekend stay. I’ve been feeling so guilty about boarding her because of her age. She can no longer hear and can see out of only 1 eye. She has definitely slowed down a lot. I have to say that she seems so happy and has so much more energy after her stay! The pictures in her report card look like she was having a great time. I am so happy with the care and love our sweet girl gets at Cedar Run. Thanks for all you do, and for being flexible! 🐾🐶💗
Love the report cards they text to me after daycare. Has pictures of my dogs at play. They tell me who they hang out with during the day. And love I can jump on their Webcam and check on them throughout the day!!
They are very friendly, and they treat my dog with great respect. It is a fair price and seems very clean. And they sent pictures of the dog playing and she was happy.
They do a great job. We have a deaf dog with high seperation anxiety and they do the little extra to make him have a good and safe experience.
Dog Star is the best!! Sarah and her team truly care and my pup Goose absolutely loves them! Having hour walks during the week allows my husband and I to go to work without any worry because we know the team will bring Goose out and he truly loves his adventures with them! They also send pictures following the walks so you know they were there and you can see all the fun they had! Highly recommend Dog Star!😊
Sarah and Dog Star are top notch and the best care takers for Max bar none. Sarah provides creative and fun mentally engaging activities for Max, lets him run on the treadmill, and allows him to play with all his furry friends. Max loves his Sarah and the Dog Star staff. Dog Star sets a daily limit for the total number of dogs in their care to ensure your dog gets maximum attention and enrichment. Give Dog Star a shot. They will not disappoint you!
I was in a situation where I had a personal medical emergency out of state. I scrambled to find someone to be with my dogs to no avail. Only option left was boarding. A couple boarding facilities were full and a couple wouldn’t allow my dogs to be boarded within 14 days of vaccines. A facility recommended Dog Star. Sarah answered all my questions and was extremely empathetic when I called. She was flexible regarding dates and times and potential last minute changes that might happen. She sent updates and pictures daily without asking. It’s apparent she loves what she does and hires people who feel the same. I will be forever grateful for Sarah and her team. Thank you for being reliable, dependable and helping me feel secure with my choice in boarding my dogs.
I work for Dogstar so of course I'm biased lol. But I love the atmosphere here, Sarah does the upmost best to care for the dogs in her care, provides materials to ensure enrichment for the dogs at daycare. Such as sniff Mats, lick Mats, and of course amazing treats for the fur babies. I've first hand seen improvement in dogs behavior and seen dogs become less anxious and more confident (in the good way) in her care. Also Sarah always asks us to take pictures to send to the pet parents to ensure you feel less anxious about your dog and to see how they are doing while in our care. She also ensures that her employees are well educated in dog care, sanitation, how to spot signs of dogs behavior, how to adress concerns pet parents may have, and signs of illness to ensure your dog is always safe. She takes pride in her work that many don't so trust me when I say dogstar is an amazing place for you and your dog.
Just wanted to share my amazing experience with Dog Star today! I sent my lab there for an evaluation day to do daycare with them. They did absolutely amazing with him!! Not only did he get to play with other dogs like most daycares but they also did enrichment, played with him, trained with him, and took him out to do a sniff walk all day for only $30!! They are so good with communication as well, he seemed to have an upset stomach due to nervousness and made sure to talk to me about it just incase! And on top of that he’s never come home from training, daycare, or walks as tired as he did today!! So Cedar Rapids and Marion if you are looking for a good daycare that communicates well, sends pictures, and goes above and beyond look no further than Dog Star!!
We use Dog Star for both dog walking and boarding, what a fantastic choice. The communication is great and we get all the pics sent showing our dog being loved and having fun. So happy we found them!
Sarah watched our newfoundland while we were in town for a baseball tournament. We were able to keep our dog with us at our hotel a few blocks away, we just needed somewhere for her to go to be entertained, and in the AC. Dogstar is super clean & nicely air-conditioned for the big dogs. Sarah is super easy to work with and sent us pictures of our pup playing during the day. If we are ever back in Marion I would totally feel good about bringing our dogs back to spend the day with Dogstar!
We took a weekend trip and had our dog, Charlie, boarded with Sarah! She was absolutely amazing. It was our first time leaving him and I was super nervous, but she made it awesome. She sent updates with pictures and I felt as though she treated him like her own! I will definitely take him back!
Found our new kennel! Sarah was great and made the process very seamless. We have a nervous pup and we received photos of her sleeping on Sarah’s lap about 15 min after we left. Highly recommend!
Dog star is amazing. We have been using Sarah's services for over two years now. I don't trust anyone else with my animals. My cats just love her. She is always reliable and goes above and beyond.
I remember the first day I took him there and he came home with a damn collage of pictures of him playing with dogs. Before that he had been kicked out of two daycares at 10 months old. Over the years I’ve never had a bad experience with an employee or worried about how my dog was being handled. My dog has been going for 6 years. He runs inside every day!🙂
Half day works out great with my schedule. The staff are so kind and my little crazy pup is all played out and ready for a nap by mid day. He loves it!
Great team in place there. Pup always comes home happy and tired!
Our Ollie loves going here. He loves his caretakers! As a bonus he's so completely exhausted that it go eat us a night of peace from his high energy!
Been bringing the pup here twice a week for several months now to let him play with friends and get some energy out. He absolutely loves it at the staff has been nothing short of fantastic! Very happy with Dog Zone!!!
My pup has been coming for a couple of weeks biw and she absolutely loves it. As soon as I'm in park she is trying to get out. She goes right in and on back. The staff are amazing. They even give baths if they get dirty. I will definitely consider bringing her back when my job starts up again in August.
When we got Chance a year and a half ago, my father-in-law recommended the dog zone. His dog Hailey is a rambunctious beagle and her one day trip a week was worth every penny, he said. The staff obviously loves dogs and for that one day, she came home and slept. We didn't think our little cockapoo would need that kind of interaction, but with my husband working nights and trying to sleep during the day, we soon realized Chance needed an outlet. He also made it obvious from our first day with him that he likes humans but he LOVES dogs. So he went to Dog Zone from 8 weeks old. He was 3 pounds and from the first day, he was playing with dogs three times his size with no holds barred. The girls called him fearless. They are so great with him and helped us get him potty trained. Plus he came home and slept! We originally thought we'd stop when my husband got off night shift, but we just can't. We love the Dog Zone!
Our 3-year old border collie really needs exercise, and she loves going to The Dog Zone! We've been clients for almost 10 years, and our previous dog loved going even as a tottery senior. The staff respect each dog's needs and are attentive - you can tell they LOVE their work. It's nice to have half-day options too - that works best for us. I'd recommend this dog daycare to anyone with a dog that is ready to socialize!
I take my pup there every single Wednesday and occasionally more than that, he loves it there. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Honestly an amazing place to take your dog.
Laila loves going to The Dog Zone!! The staff know her and are excited to see her too. She'll be relaxed/tired after a full day of play.
Great daycare staff, they remember Hazel’s name even when she hasn’t been there for a couple months. Kelly does an excellent job grooming Hazel. Can’t recommend them enough. They will take good care of your fur babies.
My high anxiety retriever loves to come here every day to play with his doggos and release all that pent up energy he has. Even when it is time to leave for the day, he tries to pull me back into daycare! He is a completely different dog when he is with the "pack". It is enjoyable to watch all the different breeds interact with one another.
I could not recommend Hilltop enough!!! I have been taking my dog here for a little over a year for daycare and have always been extremely happy with the care they give to my dog (she always comes home very happy and very tired). Drop off/pickup is quick and easy and the facility is great. It’s kept very clean and doesn’t smell like wet dog the way a lot of other animal facilities do (also not as loud as typical boarding facilities). The owner clearly cares a lot about each and every dog and takes the time to get to know all of them and their individual needs. Very friendly staff too, that always welcomes my pup with a smiling face and an enthusiastic attitude that gets her just as excited. I also love how they post pictures of each camper to Facebook every day. As long as I live in Cedar Rapids, my dog will only go to Hilltop.
Hilltop kennels has made having a dog, just that much easier for me. I’m a first time dog owner, and it was very stressful for me at first. I work a 9-6, 6 days a week job, and had to put my pup in his kennel. Hilltop kennels has not only treated my pup right but have excellent staff! Everyone there is very kind, and all of them love my pup already! I’m so happy I found hilltop kennel, as it’s pretty close to where I live and not out of my way. But also watch and treat my dog well! He comes home VERY tired, and I know he got a great day of playing with other dogs his size! Hilltop kennel has taken off a TREMENDOUS amount of stress off my shoulders, as well as a lot of worry. Thank you hilltop kennel, I would HIGHLY recommend this as your dog daycare! Enjoy the photo of me after picking Kash up from pup daycare! (Yes he LOVES it)!
Every time I drop off and pick up my dog it reaffirms why I bring him to Hilltop Kennels. The staff are incredible and friendly, and most importantly, dog approved! My dog can be a bit to handle but he is always happy to see the staff, which truly eases my worries as a pet parent. I know he’s in good hands. Additionally, their facilities are always clean and welcoming. We love Hilltop Kennel!
Staff here is very good. They had my kitty almost 2 weeks and they took wonderful care of him. They are super professional and kind and nice people.
Our dog has stayed here twice and has been well cared for.
Great staff & facility. Our dog has seizures and had one while being boarded. The staff kept us informed while it happened and during the subsequent recovery time. We felt better knowing he was being watched and cared for. Thanks Hilltop!!
It’s hot! Dangerously hot! No air conditioning in any of the kennels. The outdoor area is strewn with discarded fencing, construction products, boards, pipes, and easy access to a very high slanted roof that any dog able to jump up on a sofa could gain access to! It’s horrifying! 😮 If saving a few dollars and rolling the dice on your animals health is what matters to you in a kennel, then this is your place! Otherwise, skip this one, because the owners have quit caring long long ago.
Just boarded both my German Shepherds here for 15 days, and they are our babies, so very particular about where I'd take them. One had been there once before and the other had never been there. When I went to get them out, they were excited to see MA and PA, but seemed to be content with the place. The staff are very nice, friendly, and caring about the animals. We are happy with the place, and know our dogs will be cared for and safe. Thank you Hilltop Kennels!
Our cat Sunny was in amazing hands at Tails! He is a newly diagnosed diabetic and needing insulin and extra monitoring. Patsy (owner) went above and beyond sharing updates and the staff was so nice and welcoming!
Highly recommend for boarding! Patsy and crew took great care of my 6 dogs and gave us peace of mind while we were on our trip. 5 of our 6 dogs have never been boarded before. She moved 2 of my dogs to a larger room, to accommodate my Senior dog with hip arthritis. This made room for the cot for easier access to get up and to go outside. Thank you for making Ginger more comfortable. Very nice place, clean and peaceful. We will come back in the future for boarding. Thank you, Patsy and team! 👍👍❤🐾
I am so pleased with the care that was given to my dog at Tails A Wagg'n Resort during her recent board there. My newly rescued dog is very shy, timid, nervous, and anxious. Patsy went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that my dog was comfortable during her stay there. My dog learned to trust Patsy, and that is not an easy thing to accomplish. I would highly recommend using this facility for all of your boarding needs!!
My 14 month old baby had to be reluctantly boarded for 5 days. Leo is a 80 pound Bernedoodle that has not been properly socialized. He also has not been away from my side for more than a few hours. I was broken hearted to leave him but Patsy assured me that he’d be fine. Patsy texted me several pictures of Leo everyday showing me how much fun he was having. She also provided updates on how he was doing daily. The extra attention that Leo required was provided by the crew and made me feel relieved. Words cannot express my immense gratitude towards this second home for Leo. Amazing! Leave your puppy here knowing that Patsy and her staff will do anything at all to make your experience delightful and totally awesome!!
We travel out of town often on weekends and our dog, Kota, loves it there!! She stood beside me with her paws up on their counter like she was checking herself in and then couldn't wait to go see all the other dogs that were there. We love that we don't have any worries leaving her there, Patsy and her staff are so friendly.
I have never had to board a dog until recently and I am so happy that I found Tails a Wagg’n! Patsy and team were amazing! Thank you so much for taking care of Riley!
My German Shepherd had a great time there! He was happy and ate all his food, we got daily updates and pictures while we were away! I’m very happy we found this place!!
Patsy gave us a tour of the facility and she answered all of my many questions that I had. We definitely felt very comfortable knowing our pups would we taken care of! They made drop off/pick up quick and easy. We knew our dogs had a wonderful weekend away and we were worry free! I recommend checking them out! :)
I sent my two dogs to board here while I was on vacation. They were so spoiled, they had so much fun! I got daily updates, and pictures. Definitely recommend them!
Exceptional place to board your dog! They take the time to get to know each dog and their needs and idiosyncrasies! The facility is clean and the workers are clearly vetted for their love of animals and well trained. Our dogs take medicine and they have special diets and Tails A Waggin listens carefully to instructions and will go above and beyond to make sure each dog is provided a safe, warm, clean and loving stay-cation. I would not take my dogs anywhere else!
