Animal lover with experience sitting for dogs, cats, horses, fish and chickens.
Scott is a dream. Not only did he take great care of our cats and bearded dragon, but he was respectful, responsive, and extremely responsible. He even unboxed some perishables that arrived in the mail and put them in the fridge, as well as washing the sheets and making the bed up for us after his stay. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

Kind, reliable couple place your pets' needs and home care first.
Selena and Josh were great pet sitters. They asked to FaceTime before traveling here to ask/answer questions and came to my house the day before I left to see everything. They asked good questions that made me feel like they were going to be good caregivers. They gave me daily updates and pictures. I would happily have them sit again!

This was my second time having Zuldemar as a housesitter, and she was so great again. Sent very cute photos and updates, left my apartment spotless, and my cats seemed so calm upon my return - I know they were well taken care of. She is communicative, friendly, and reliable and I hope she can stay here again!

Responsible, animal loving, non-smoking, early retired professional couple.
Wow - Dawn and Mike were amazing house sitters! Not sure where to begin... Communication wise they were excellent even before arrival! They kept in touch with us regarding any potential changes in plans and delays. Knowing our flight was in the morning, they offered to come one night early so that we don't have to worry about a last minute scramble (and even dropped off us at the airport!). During the stay itself, they sent us pictures of our kiddos as requested and it was clear from the pictures that they enjoyed spending time with Dawn and Mike! After we came back, we were pleasantly surprised that the house was literally cleaner than we had left it. Sheets/towels were done, trash was taken out, they even wiped down all of our sinks downstairs. Best part - knowing that we were huge boardgame nerds, they left us a little gift (Wingspan Asia). I cannot express how great Dawn and Mike are! We'd love to have them house sit for us again! Don't hesitate to book with them.

We will nurture your home and pets as if they were our own.
Carol and Kevin were five-star housesitters all the way! From the moment I met them, I could see that they would be kind and compassionate towards our aging pups. They took good care of everything, even gave us a ride to the airport. We would gladly have them back anytime!

It was my first time using zeewoi so I was slightly apprehensive, but as soon as I heard from Kendra I knew both my cat and my apartment would be in safe hands. Kendra was great with communicating and coming back quickly, very friendly and clearly experienced with sitter jobs. Whilst staying at my place she sent me regular updates. Once I returned home the flat was spotless. I would highly recommend Kendra and I would certainly use her again. She’s great!
Hilary was a fantastic pet sitter for our cat - you would be so lucky to have her care for your pet and home. She took exceptional care of her and our home. Hilary played so much with her and took the best care. She was communicative, easy to coordinate with, and left everything super clean for us when we came back. Five stars is understating how extraordinary she was - we cannot recommend her enough!!
Florence and Robert were outstanding sitters. We asked them to arrive a day early as our guests to learn the routine on our farm. In getting to know them we found them to be good hearted, down to earth people with a love of animals and diligent in learning our routines to care for our poultry, cats and dog as well as our garden and orchard. Not a typical or easy sit. We travelled with ease knowing our critters were being well taken care of. Arriving home, the house was very clean and looked well cared for. The animals were healthy as were the garden and orchard. Out pets missed them when they left – our dog stared down the driveway after them until their car was out of sight. It is nice to find sitters we would like to hang out with and we look forward to having them sit for us again.
We were very lucky to have had Nia for our recent house sit. She communicated well before the sit and arrived as planned. We shared a meal before we left which gave us time to get to know her and tell her about the house and our pets. After we left it soon became clear the cats loved Nia and the attention she gave them. We were kept informed throughout her stay with regular updates and video clips of what they were up to and how the garden was growing etc. We highly recommend Nia as a pet/house sitter and we would certainly have her back should the opportunity arise. Thanks again Nia
I am struggling with naming our top adjective to describe Michael and Jeanne. "Conscientious" will likely be it but then again, "personable," "reliable," "organised," and "animal-loving" are top contenders. If you are reading this review and contemplating inviting this couple to watch your pets, then look no further. We have had a number of excellent house sitters but this pair was next level in terms of the love they showed our cats, Maxx and Nala. When we came back, we could our animals already missed them. These cats, who have never slept with anyone other than us, were getting in bed with them each night -- and that meant climbing stairs! The day before our trip, Nala got an ear infection and had to be put on steroids for asthma. Michael and Jeanne did not sign up for that when the sit was booked but they took it in stride. In the last-minute rush, I relayed that Nala needed her oral steroids morning and night. Michael read the RX label, indicating one dose a day, and contacted the vet to clarify. So you can see why "conscientious" is right up there. They saved Nala from an overdose! We were gone three weeks and they sent us just the right amount of pictures and videos. They bought cat toys (I forgot to put ours out!) and actively engaged with them, including 20-minute massages for Maxx. I truly believed them when they said they fell in love with our fur babies. The house was spotless (which was not important to me but truly appreciated) but I smiled when all six water stations in our yard were filled. They took seriously my love for and the needs of the wildlife in our yard. Our plants were all in good condition as well. Sensing they were "next level" when I met them, I predicted they would want to leave a meal for us upon our return. I asked them not to but they found another way to bow out with class. They made a donation to a nonprofit I work with instead. This I learned from the lovely thank you note they left. I hope they will consider Charles and I friends because we certainly feel that way about them now. What special people. If you book them, treat them well because they are going to do that for you for sure.
Young was the perfect house sitter for us. From the moment you meet her, you can tell she is animal person and is detailed oriented and will take great care of your house and pets. She exudes a peaceful and grounded energy. She was comfortable with each our pets from the high energy dog to the shy skittish cat. She played with the dog in the yard every day and took him on walks. And she was also very attentive to our cats and figured out how to maintain the equilibrium in the relationship between the cats and dog. She is an excellent communicator; she asked questions when our directions weren't clear and kept us updated on the pets. She is also an amazing photographer. She sent us pics of our pets every day that totally captured each of their personalities.
Kristi was an absolutely incredible sitter -- I think our favorite one ever! She was easy to communicate with, kind and personable, and took great care of our pets and our house. It was the first time we had left both our dog and our cat with a TH sitter and Kristi went above and beyond. She was very self-sufficient but provided fun updates and pictures and our pets loved her. Highly recommend!
We are thoroughly pleased with and impressed by Daniel's kind, generous, and careful care of our cat and our house. He is a committed and experienced sitter who completely understands his role and responsibilities and also how to gently win the confidence and affection of a pet. He is an excellent communicator, and he kept us regularly up to date on our cat's well being--sending us texts and photos at least once/week as we requested. Our cat who is a little afraid of new people, grew fond of him, and we have returned to a very calm, contented cat. We highly recommend Daniel, and we ourselves would be thrilled to engage him again when the need arises.
Angel was absolutely the best house sitter we could have hoped for. She is a very warm, open and diligent person and our two cats adored her. She looked after our house and garden with really conscientious care. She won over our very timid cat, Billie, and sent regular photos of both cats looking supremely content which gave us perfect peace of mind. The house was completely spotless on our return and the garden was fabulous... no mean feat since there was a heatwave while we were away and she kept everything watered and in great condition. We would have Angel back at the drop of a hat and cannot recommend her highly enough.
Oh wow! Everyone should be so lucky to have Nicholas and Veerle watch their house and pets. These lovely people are pros! They communicated early and often, were super accommodating to some last minute changes (it was originally going to be only our cats to watch but we decided to keep the dog home as well so that added to the schedule and care needs) and they left the house spotless and all set up for another sitter who came in after them. We didn’t get the chance to meet because my departure and arrival times but I dearly hope I get to in the future because they were just great! I even heard how nice they were from My neighbors who say them out walking our dog. :-) They also sent regular pictures of the pets which look like pro-photography! Cannot recommend this couple enough! Your pets and house will be in good hands!
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home for free at Zeewoi.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $21/day per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Zeewoi.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Zeewoi cat sitters for free, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
Stacey and her family have become our beloved dog’s 2nd family. He loves coming to their property so much! She has taken care of him on a regular basis since he was a puppy, which has made it possible for us to do the traveling we need to do to visit family out of the area, knowing we could leave our dog with her and feel confident about his well-being while we are away. She cares deeply for every dog, tunes into them and their individual personalities, and is very empathic with both people and dogs. She is well aware of their dynamic as a pack, and makes sure to manage every dog’s well-being while they are under her care. She pays attention, and is very caring and comforting. We consider her our dog’s Godmother!
Our dog instantly loved the resort, and we feel so comfortable leaving him there. Stacey has been very welcoming and flexible and is a great communicator, and our dog returns pleasantly tired from all the play time.
Our dog Bandit had a great stay at the Crooked Rooster Dog Resort! They sent me regular pictures of him and daily communication about how he was doing. When I picked him up he looked super happy and tired from playing with all the other dogs. Will definitely use their services again in the future!
The Crooked Rooster Dog Resort is the ideal place for dogs. My dogs loved their time with Stacey. She is a real life dog whisperer. There is so much room for them to run around and so many friends to play with. Stacey treats every dog like they are family, even my lab puppy who ran through the garden and enjoyed barking at nothing what so ever before even the rooster woke up. It is such a great feeling to know that when we have to leave our dogs, they are not only safe and cared for, but blissfully happy. Highly recommend!!
Amazing experience. Stacey kept me updated with photos of my dog’s adventures. My dog had so much fun in their large fenced in yard, and came home so happy and tuckered out. Will definitely be back
Both my dogs and I always always have a great experience at this location. The hosts are very knowledgeable and kind. Stacey seems to know just what my puppers need for the day. Some times is lots of attention, too the freedom to just be a dog with all their friends that come. She also picks up on things for follow up with me in pick up times to ensure their best doggy life ever!
Our dog has been staying with Stacy for years – from being an energetic pup to a more mellow 9 year old. In all ages, he’s always been excited to come play, and always happily tired when we pick him up. He loves the large yard to play with other dogs in or to have quiet time investigating on his own. We trust Stacy and family with him when we’re on long trips and out of the country, knowing she’ll make good judgement calls if needed and give him nurturing TLC at his home-away-from-home.
We always take our dog to The Crooked Rooster whenever we are away. Stacey is kind and gentle we know our pup is well cared for. There is a very large fenced area for the dogs to run and play. Highly recommended for anyone needing care for their dog(s) while they are away, overnights or even just for the day!
Stacey’s is a great home environment for my GSD to stay at. A variety of other dogs to socialize with, plenty of room to roam around and play. Stacey is very nice and patient with Tule! I highly recommend Crooked Rooster Dog Resort. Bill P.
The Crooked Rooster Dog Resort is our #1 doggie day and overnight care in the Grass Valley area. Our dog Rocket is always so excited when being boarded at The Crooked Rooster. We know he's well cared for and has plenty of space to run about while socializing with the other fury guests. Stacey and her family are true gems!
Our little fur ball loves it here! This is probably the only day care he has been to where he made other fur friends! The staff is very caring. They usually have pictures and videos to show us from his day. They are awesome! Highly recommend them. We have used them for both full and half day daycare!
We have brought our dogs here several times in the last 6 months and so far have nothing but great things to say. The pricing is very reasonable and our dogs are always excited when they are dropped off which makes me feel secure in the …
This place is amazing! I took my dogs to be groomed by Mariah, and she was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions, and listened to the requests we made, and why. She did such a great job on my dogs, and …
I am heartbroken to write this review after what was, sadly, our most recent experience at The Kennels. My dog has stayed here multiple times before, with no complaints, and I've always loved the staff. However, this time was a completely different story. Upon picking up my dog, I was horrified to find that he was covered in urine. His entire legs were yellow, and his belly was soaked. When I asked what happened, I was told he had run through a puddle of urine. But this doesn't explain the extent of the mess. I was also informed that they had to bathe him mid-stay, but no explanation was given as to whether it was due to him being filthy with urine and feces. My dog has sensitive skin, so a call to me about the situation would have been appreciated, especially given the condition he was in. I was also told that he wasn't eating, which I've heard happens occasionally, but instead of calling me for advice, they decided to double-feed him at night. I can't help but wonder, were they even feeding him properly in the morning. And to top it off, I was told that he had been placed in the wrong kennel at first, and he was sleeping on a wooden crate. This raises further concerns about the level of care he received. When I called to voice my concerns, I was surprised to learn that the ownership had changed and that the new owner was not available due to his age. This left me feeling even more unsettled about the lack of accountability and care. Given the treatment my dog received this time, I will never return to The Kennels. To be honest, I feel that what happened to him could be described as neglectful, and I truly believe it's a form of dog abuse. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve the care they provide to future pets. Response to owners' message: Thank you for your response, but I want to clarify that the point of my message was not to argue over who’s in charge, but simply to reference who I knew from our previous stay. That said, I feel like there are a lot of excuses being made here. First, it wasn’t raining while we were gone, so I don’t understand why my dog was wet. Of course, I understand you need to take him outside for bathroom breaks, but I don’t think he should have been left outside for extended periods. Do your outdoor kennels hold water, or was there another reason for him to be wet? As for his feeding, the schedule was not normal. He was only fed at night, and he received a double portion, which upset his stomach. This wasn’t the routine we discussed, and it caused an issue. Lastly, I don’t need to bring him back for another bath. I had to bathe him again when we got home because he was soaked in urine, not because he was dirty. I just wanted to address these points and make sure we’re on the same page. Thank you.
We’ve taken our Charlie to the Kennels for years and have always been happy with how well she’s taken care of. Cindi and the rest of the staff are so good to her and give her lots of love and attention.
I left my dogs for 13 days at The Kennels. One of my dogs is a Pit mix. They did not let his scary demeanor keep them from making friends with him. They gave him lots of love and excellent care.
We have been using Auburn Kennels for at least ten years. The animals love it and the care is wonderful.
My dog loves to go to auburn kennels. When I pick her up she always heads back to the door to go back in. She doesn’t want to leave. That makes me feel so good knowing she loves it. The staff is friendly, professional and they love dogs and cats. The kennel is in a beautiful area of auburn, hilly with lots of trees. I wouldn’t leave my pets anywhere else. I would chsnge my plans so my dog could stay there.
Great prideful owners. They take good care of all the dogs and the dog’s areas.
