I am struggling with naming our top adjective to describe Michael and Jeanne. "Conscientious" will likely be it but then again, "personable," "reliable," "organised," and "animal-loving" are top contenders. If you are reading this review and contemplating inviting this couple to watch your pets, then look no further. We have had a number of excellent house sitters but this pair was next level in terms of the love they showed our cats, Maxx and Nala. When we came back, we could our animals already missed them. These cats, who have never slept with anyone other than us, were getting in bed with them each night -- and that meant climbing stairs! The day before our trip, Nala got an ear infection and had to be put on steroids for asthma. Michael and Jeanne did not sign up for that when the sit was booked but they took it in stride. In the last-minute rush, I relayed that Nala needed her oral steroids morning and night. Michael read the RX label, indicating one dose a day, and contacted the vet to clarify. So you can see why "conscientious" is right up there. They saved Nala from an overdose! We were gone three weeks and they sent us just the right amount of pictures and videos. They bought cat toys (I forgot to put ours out!) and actively engaged with them, including 20-minute massages for Maxx. I truly believed them when they said they fell in love with our fur babies. The house was spotless (which was not important to me but truly appreciated) but I smiled when all six water stations in our yard were filled. They took seriously my love for and the needs of the wildlife in our yard. Our plants were all in good condition as well. Sensing they were "next level" when I met them, I predicted they would want to leave a meal for us upon our return. I asked them not to but they found another way to bow out with class. They made a donation to a nonprofit I work with instead. This I learned from the lovely thank you note they left. I hope they will consider Charles and I friends because we certainly feel that way about them now. What special people. If you book them, treat them well because they are going to do that for you for sure.
There are not enough words in the English language to express my deepest gratitude to Teresa and all the amazing love and care she showed my sweet cat Milo. From the moment she met Milo, I knew there was going to be a very special bond. He instantly relaxed when he first met and already looked so happy and at peace with her. The bond between the two of them only seemed to get stronger and stronger with every day that I was away. This two-week trip was so important for me as it was the first real "vacation" I had taken in a few years. I was in desperate need of a mental and physical break and knew that in order to have a true "time off', I needed to feel completely at peace with Milo being well-taken care of. Well my prayers were answered as Teresa was the "cat whisperer" I was hoping for. I could not have asked for a better, more compassionate, self-reliant, and intuitive sitter ! Teresa was also so diligent in sending me her daily picture and video updates of my cat. With every picture and video I saw, I knew that Milo was so happy being with her and I never worried for one minute while I was away. What a gift ! Teresa was also a serious life-saver for me as literally an hour before I was leaving for my trip, I found out my cat's tracker app was not working and after a few emails and phone calls, we found out the tracker's server was down. Teresa took the initiative to follow up with getting the tracker to work again which was a HUGE stress-relief for me . She is not only wonderfully savvy with animals but also with technology as well ! I feel so fortunate to have Teresa in my life now, not only as an amazing sitter for Milo but also as a wonderful friend for life! Thank you, Teresa for everything.... Milo and I so appreciate you .....
Great pet sitter - took perfect care of our cat and our home. They were super communicate leading up to and during the sit and left our apartment in great shape. I'd absolutely recommend them to any future sitters!
Kathryn was amazing. She helped me figure plans out after another sitter dropped out at the last minute and saved the day! My cat and fish were well taken care of, and she was super communicative when my tank had a problem child moment. Would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, helpful, and caring sitter!!
Brian is a very professional sitter that does a good job, pays attention to details and is easy to work with. I have a lot of plants. A lot. He suggested me do a video for the plant care so he could be sure of which ones needed what. Brilliant! I’d never thought of that. They were in great shape when I returned. I explained that I needed some flexibility with travel dates, he agreed and rolled with the punches like a champ when my dates did indeed change. Unfortunately, he was a bit allergic to my cat but made it work anyway. He was really awesome about everything including a tree that fell next door in a storm and blocked the road for three days. I appreciate that he appreciated how funny and how much personality Boo has. They got along well and I received some great videos. I returned home to a happy cat and a house well taken care of 😊. I would definitely recommend Brian.
Hannah and Joseph were brilliant sitters - totally reliable and trustworthy. Quick to respond to queries and their past experience with dog/ housesitting was very apparent. Our 2 dogs and 1 cat were well looked after and the house was spotless on our return. We are totally happy to recommend them.
If you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies and your house while you're away, Daniel is your guy! I had discovered zeewoi just a couple of weeks before I was to leave on vacation and I was not only apprehensive if the website was too good to be true, but also under a real time crunch. I reached out to over 100 local sitters and several possibilities fell through. I was confident I would find the right sitter and when Daniel applied for the sit and I started to text and converse with him, I knew I had found the perfect sitter for my two cats! Daniel was upbeat and positive, articulate and personable, warm and caring, and he asked all the right questions about Lilly and Eli (I hadn't had the time to complete my Welcome Guide, yet!?!). I shared that I had an easy cat and problem cat -- Lilly, who is sweet, social and eats dry food, and Eli who is skittish, was periodically pooping outside the kitty litter box and was eating prescription canned food twice a day mixed with a probiotic and stool firmer. I asked if he thought he was up for the job and he happily said he was. Since he flew all the was from Chicago, I thought the least my husband and I could do was pick him up at the airport. When he arrived, he pulled out his notebook. He patiently walked with me as I reviewed kitty care, showed him around the house, and where he would be sleeping. He immediately picked up Lilly who was excited about meeting her new friend and Eli bugged out and down the stairs to the basement (his favorite hiding place!). We got Daniel connected to the internet, set him up at our dining room table and headed off to airport, leaving our house and kitties in the best of hands. Daniel wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and assured while we were away. He made sure to text with me every other day (he had asked my preference earlier), sent photos of Lilly being her cute self while Eli hid during the day although he gave me assurances that he was eating his food and using the litter box (there were a few accidents, but Daniel never complained about these additional duties). When we returned from our vacation, the house was also spotless and well cared for and Daniel had even washed the sheets for me! It is with utter happiness and complete confidence that I recommend Daniel as a fantastic Sitter. He is trustworthy, responsible, caring, and competent, and you can rest assured that both your house and sweet pets will be watched over and treated with TLC -- and will truly be in the best of hands while you are away!
Jinnie was an excellent house sitter for me and my cat Felix. Completely responsible and reliable and helpfully flexible. She was willing to work with me as I dithered on whether I was actually going to go on my trip (which was dependent on good weather), and when I finally decided on making my trip one day shorter. House was clean and organized on my return, and, more importantly, my cat was calm and relaxed on my return. I would happily have Jinnie come sit for me and Felix again.
Ann Marie was an excellent house sitter who went above and beyond. She flew in a day early and stayed at a local hotel so we she could meet my cat and get the keys before my early flight the next morning. When I returned, she and Tryke were best friends and the house was immaculate. She even washed the sheets and towels, and remade the bed. I strongly recommend Ann Marie for any future sits!
Rick and Sally are marvelous cat sitters and we would gladly have them back anytime. We highly recommend them to any and all pet owners. They arrived when they said they would and were ready to go when we returned, making sure our cats were present before departing. Our home was left spotless, undoubtedly better than we left it for them. We can't urge you enough to engage them if you can!
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home for free at Zeewoi.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $18/day per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Zeewoi.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Zeewoi cat sitters for free, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
Picked up a 10 week old GSD puppy from them and he is an incredible dog so far. Got a clean bill of health from my vet, very smart and trainable, picking commands up quickly. They spent a lot of time answering questions I honestly couldn't be happier. Definitely recommend them if you are looking for a quality GSD.
Sweet Pea Kennels took care of our fur babies while we were away for the weekend. I could tell that they had so much fun while we were gone! They went above and beyond for our pups and even gave them a bath before we picked them up! HIGHLY RECOMMEND SWEET PEA KENNELS!
Rural location. Very friendly staff. Our dogs seemed happy here. Will use them for future pet boarding. Would recommend them to others.
Sweet peas is the best place to board your dogs while your away. They go above and beyond to make their stay great. We have a German Shepherd and a Great Pyrenees and they love the guys there. Our boys get excited when they see us making up their food bucket. Would recommend them to anyone who needs a place to board their pets.
The staff was very friendly and reassuring, however the condition in which my pet come back is completely unacceptable. He had lost so much weight, you could see his ribs. He had injury's all over his body that required a trip to the vet. My dog not only was Injured and malnourished, but had diarrhea for several days. I feel as though I spent 1800 just for my dog to be neglected.
I was not impressed. When my dogs were picked up they were both still wet from their bath. I called at 5:07pm the night before I told them I was picking them up & and was assured they would be bathed & dried by 11am the next day. By the way I called to have them picked up a day early because I did not feel at ease. When they were picked up, they both were still wet. Also, I had sent them their daily food in Ziploc bags as I was asked to do by the Kennel. There were only three bags of their food when there should have been six bags left because I sent 2 extra bags incase it was later on the original date scheduled for pickup. I was also advised that they may or may not have been in contact with a dog that had some “” fall allergy “” issue, and had been coughing and that if my dogs experienced this just to give them some Robitussin DM. When my dogs got home, they went straight into their kennels, which is very unlike them, especially since they just got home. That is the last thing that they would do. Maybe this place is OK for some but I will not be returning there nor letting my dogs stay there in the future. I did not feel at ease when I arrived I was uncomfortable while I was gone on my trip and even arrange for them to be picked up a day early. And I’m very glad that I did that. The people I spoke with, were all very nice, polite and friendly, but I’m not comfortable with taking my dogs back for boarding. In response to your reply….My dogs have been boarded before & when they returned home, they were social and loving, as always. Upon returning home from your facility, they were very unsocial went to their kennels and laid down. This is very unlike them. Also, the fall allergy you’re referring to was actually kennel cough, which one of my dogs contracted from your dog. if you would like to pay the vet bill of $103.60 I will be happy to let you. Also your recommendation of giving them Robitussin D should I notice them coughing is not what my veterinarian recommended at all. As far as the dogs being wet & you responding that you don’t blow dry them you tell dry them because some dogs don’t like it might I suggest you check with the owners first to see how their dogs respond to being blow dried.
They go above and beyond as compared to other kennels I have used before. They bathed my dog as part of the standard boarding and gave her the opportunity to run on their property. They seem to treat the boarded dogs as their own, which I greatly appreciate. They also have so many extra options I have not seen at other kennels. Additionally, they have Sunday pick-up, which was a blessing for me. Definitely recommend it, and I will definitely be bringing my dog back.
I really like this place. Our dog totally loves Sweet Peas. Our cat not so much. But I think if they had a separate building to separate the dogs and cat would make a big difference for our cat. But I give these guys a 5 ⭐️
I bought my dog from Sweet pea a few months ago, she’s 8 months old now, and I have nothing bad to say about my experience! They were super cooperative with my girlfriend and I. We love our Georgia (our GSD’s name). She has a very high drive and she’s insanely smart. We definitely plan on getting another GSD from them in the future! They were very patient with us and answered every question we had. I’d recommend buying a puppy from them any day. You can tell they’re very careful about the blood lines in the dogs they breed to ensure a healthy dog. They put a lot of pride into their dogs for sure!
I boarded 4 dogs and 2 cats for five days. One dog has seizure medication he needs twice a day. This dog passed away there although he was acting normal. I do not believe he received his medicine twice a day as he had to have it to prevent seizures. He had no other health issues and was only 6 years old. My other animals were fine as they do not take medication daily. Just find it odd the dog with seizure medication passes away unexpectedly after not having problems for 3.5 years since being on medication. I did not receive the medication bottle back or the peanut butter jar provided. Overall my other pets had a great experience and they did take my dog who passed away to the cremation place for us. It may be my pregnancy hormones getting the best of me and overthinking the situation.
My girls LOVE coming to playcare to run off their energy and see all their friends! The turf play yard is awesome because it keeps the fur babies clean while they run and play. I love checking their Facebook page for the daily pictures off all the furry kids playing. They also offer boarding! They have AWESOME private, spacious rooms for your dogs to stay in during their vacation. They also post daily photo updates on their Facebook page. I would 100% recommend this place to everyone! They also have some pretty awesome staff who just adore all the furry kids! 💕
Great place to board, I love the large private rooms that the dogs stay in and the turf yard is fantastic for boarding and playcare. Playcare is great for letting dogs run, play and interact with other dogs! Highly recommend Caine Condoz and Playcare!
Makayla and her team have LOVED my two dogs like they were their own. The service was incredible. The communication exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them for boarding and training!
Wow! Mak and her team are absolutely amazing. Our 5 year old reactive Aussie spent a month with them and his improvement is remarkable. We left a few days after picking him up for a week long camping trip and were able to calmly walk around campgrounds, small crowded spaces with other dogs, and had little to no disruption from him. Their communication while he was there as great- he has some medical needs and they were so good about keeping us updated with his wellbeing, progress, and just how much fun he was having. She was sure to note that we could still reach out anytime after training with any questions about his progress, and we look forward to taking advantage of the included “advanced” classes now that we’ve got our boy home. He’s been back with us for a month now and I feel so much more confident knowing they were the link that gave me the “language” to effectively communicate with him in any setting.
I took both of my dogs to group classes. Mak and her team are THE BEST!!! The first night Louis went, he refused to do anything and spit his treats out. Mak and her team were so great and patient. In just 6 weeks, Louis went from spitting treats out and not listening to heeling, sitting, laying down, staying, leash walking, and so much more!!! We loved Paw Talk soo much we decided to take our bigger dog who previously had training elsewhere. He and Louis learned so much in those 6 weeks. We can actually go in public now without the dogs dragging us through the stores! No matter what training you are looking for, Mak is the one to go to! I recommend Paw Talk to everyone!!!!! (Thanks to Mak and teaching them how to stay so well, I can get pictures of them together!)
If you have a dog you really love and need to find someplace to temporarily leave him, Mak and Co is the place to go. I had a medical emergency and no where to leave my micro goldendoodle. I called Mak, crying, and she went above and beyond to help. Truffle has been there 3 weeks so far and they all love her almost as much as I do! She’s becoming even more spoiled than she was. I get notes and pictures often and she looks so happy! PawTalk has helped me maintain my sanity during this ordeal and I would highly recommend them. ❤️
Before these classes, we felt so overwhelmed. I signed up for classes and mentally prepared myself to be kicked out because I was sure my dog was going to misbehave. They are amazing! They are so knowledgeable and kind. They made me feel confident with my dog and she is totally different after a few short weeks of training!! I will definitely be going back!
I could write a book on Mak's professionalism and knowledge alone. Her understanding of canine behavior and how to ethically and responsibly apply it to every day life is unmatched! Then you add in her compassion, dedication, and genuine love for each dog in her care is what puts her heads and tails above all others! I did extensive research before ever entrusting my precious Darla to her and she exceeded every expectation! She has been with us since Darla was about 2 months old and absolutely key to Darla's training and upbringing. There is no one else I would trust to care for any of my animals and would highly recommend her to anyone!
If you are looking for someone to train and love your dog the way you do then you definitely need to reach out to Mak! We sent our 4 year old Aussie to her for some basic manners and obedience and we could not be more pleased. The way she loves Marlin and helps him be his best self is exceptional. We love her so much that we continue to use her when we need to go out of town. Marlin loves to go back and see her and we know that he is loved and well taken care of. She treats him just like one of her own. He is definitely part of her family when he is there. Bonus is all the photo updates. ❤️
I highly HIGHLY recommend Paw Talk to anybody with a dog. The dedication shown towards Nora has blown me away. Nora has some compulsion issues especially towards lights. I wasn’t sure what to do anymore because it clearly caused her stress and anxiety. I happen to find Mak and I sent her a quick message about the behaviors that were causing us concern. Mak setup a phone call with me the next day and we went through all of Nora’s struggles and what I would like to see improvement on. We could not be happier with the progress Nora has made!! I would trust Mak with any dog, she is so knowledgeable and genuinely cares about seeing the pup succeed. On the day of pickup we went through Nora’s training thoroughly and I felt so comfortable with replicating it at home. We will be attending daycare with Mak and I’m sure we will do some refresher training in the future!
If you have a dog that needs some training, I highly recommend Mak at Paw Talk in Jackson MO. She does a fantastic job of working with the animals and determining what areas need work? She has a wonderful setup for the dogs to play and train. She’s patient and trains the dogs the best that they can be. I wouldn’t trust anyone other than Mak to train my dogs! Corlis Haley
If you’re on the fence… send your dog to Mak! I sent Ruby to her as a 1.5 year old dog who had zero impulse control, jumped on everyone, pulled on the leash, and who I was forced to kennel whenever people were over because I had no control over her. The last straw was when I took her to the groomer and I had to focus all of my attention on her and her misbehavior instead of my young children. Mak had Ruby for 3 weeks and worked some kind of magic. Ruby now looks to me for attention and rewards. She LOVES to work. She actually follows commands. Guests come over and she actually acts like she has some manners and is such a good girl now! I even took her to a store and was able to have her sit and walk away, she didn’t bolt, she waited for her next command! Our life in this house is seriously changed all because of Mak training Ruby. My only regret is I didn’t send her sooner. I still can’t believe this is my dog!
My sweet Weezy stayed at Dana’s for 4 nights & did great! I love animals & feel comfortable taking her there again. Thank you ladies!
We have used them and they are the best! Someone is there 24/7 and they take them out often thru out the day. And I love that they post pictures of your fur babies on Facebook so that you can see them while you are away. The best kennel in the area!
Two of our dogs have stayed several times here and our third dogs first time was for 12 days! They post pictures every day which I love, because I miss them so much when we travel. We know they’re well taken care of here and have so much fun. They run straight in when we drop them off, so I know the pups don’t mind it either!
The only place we take our loved ones to.
Wow what a great place. We are very picky where we take our 167 pound Great Dane! We cannot explain how good this place is. The people are excellent. When we tell our dog he is going to "DOGGY DAY CARE". HE GET EXCITED. YOU JUST COULD NOT FIND A BETTER PLACE. GIVE THEM A CHANCE IF ITS ALL DAY OVER NIGHT OR JUST A FEW HOURS
The Resort is fantastic. The staff love their guests and treat them as such. They have a regular schedule for every thing which is really good. I felt no worries about my two girls while I was away. Awesome!
We have used Dana’s Pet Resort several times and our dog loves the people and over staying there. Rates are reasonable and the employees give the meds on time. Will continue to use Dana’s in the future.
Treated my dog like he was their own. I was very nervous to leave him for 2 weeks but I received videos and personal text every day
Great place to bring your pets and know they are in the best hands. Great staff and great facility. You just know your 4 legged friends will be taken care of the same as you would.
Happy place for Roxy when we can't take her with us. Always friendly, caring and happy staff. And you can drop off/pick up at any time!
Our Guido absolutely loves everyone and all his friends here. We can't even pull a car out of the driveway without him moaning thinking someone is going here without him lol. We're so thankful that we were referred here by a member it has tremendously helped with calming him down from being a baby. They share birthdays and photos and pool days with you on the site. They also have excellent groomers for your baby to enjoy a spa day! Highly Recommend
Not a good first visit, looks nothing even close to the picture they was given the hair on her head is cut all different lengths, still has hair in her eyes and long schnauzer cut around her face. I think her nails was attempted to been cut but there so jagged that they scratch you. Don't think we will return.
They saved my behind in a last minute boarding with a funeral in another state that we had to rent a car for (most rentals require a crate and she sheds so bad ) even got us in touch with a local vet that got her in last minute to get up to date with her vaccines! Loved the staff, loved their customer service could not recommend them enough! Thank yall so much.
Great place for grooming for our dog.
Great experience with the staff. They shaved my Chug baby exactly perfectly without my giving specific instructions. They will work with many different requirements. Highly recommend.
The girls are great! I can't trim my fur baby's nails & they definitely get it done for me!
Great service! We had a Dire situation and they got us in right away. The groomer we had was Karyssa. She did such a great job and was very informative about the services she had provided. I greatly appreciate her and Samantha. We will definitely be returning for regular visits!
We brought my mom's poodle Tiny for grooming and we were really happy with the overall experience here! The staff are really nice and take time to make sure our concerns for Tiny and his needs were met. They were great keeping us posted on his progress and called us as soon as he was ready to be picked up. We do not live in town and were on a time schedule and they were able to accommodate our time frame. We look forward to our next visit and would recommend to others looking for a stress free grooming experience .
We loved Happy Tails! We boarded our fur baby.who is very picky about who she likes. The staff were very friendly and when we picked Gracey Anne up she actually said good bye to the young lady who was there. I would recommend Happy Tails to everyone who has a much loved fur baby.
Went to them for my first time and they were awesome. Got my baby in no problem especially in this time of year when every is so busy and they did a good job. He smells sooo good and looks great. I think I found my new groomers. I definitely recommend these people. Staff is super friendly and understanding.
My dog was terrified going in since this was new to him. Everyone was nice and talked to him very positively as they were going back. Obviously he had an amazing time because when I came to pick him back up, he didn't want to leave! He whined until the building was out of sight, then fell fast asleep.
Our puppy Gracie LOVES Deer Creek and has so much fun there everyday with her puppy pals. She has been going for 6 months. She runs to the door every morning excited to head to camp. The staff are all so personable and caring towards the dogs and make sure each dog has individualized care. They match dogs in groups based on behavior and size. They can feed the dogs, groom, and trim nails during the day too. Gracie is excited to see the staff out walking or at the pet store too. We LOVE Deer Creek and are so happy they love our puppy like their own while we are at work every day ❤️🐶
We have been taking both of our dogs here for years and they LOVE it! Friendly staff and they really care about your dog. It's also great that they have a groomer attached to their building, makes life easier for the owner if they choose to get a groom there! We love Deer Creek!
My Layla has been going here since she was about 12 weeks old, she is 2 now. Love all the staff and so does Layla, and that’s saying a lot for her. Very friendly staff, very easy to work with and VERY good with the dogs. The staff truly watch the dogs behavior and and move dogs around according to temperament. If two dogs aren’t getting along they move one. When Layla has gotten hurt ( broke a toenail, got in a scuffle with another dog) the staff has called me right away and let me know, even offered to transport her vet!! Love this place and love that we found it!!
Low human to dog ratios, great knowledgeable, friendly staff, clean facility, and an awesome trainer. They treat the dogs like their own. Huge yards to play in. Far better than other daycares in town where 30 dogs are crammed into a tiny daycare space. My dogs love it here and are tired after leaving. This is the place to go!
Our dog loves going to camp at deer creek. He gets super exciting as soon as we turn into the parking lot. The worst part of his week is the weekends when camp is closed. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Couldn’t ask for a better place for my dog to be while I’m at work.
Our Shelby loves deer creek! She is excited every time we drop her off. We love the puppy pow wow program and have noticed how much more social she has become. Highly recommend!
Deer Creek has been a life safer for me. My 90lb granddog loves his days there. After just a half day of play he is so much calmer and that is allowing me to keep him in my home. The staff is amazing!
We love bringing Atticus to camp! Everyone is so nice and I know and trust that the counselors take good care of Atticus when he’s there. On several occasions, we have seen two of the counselors, Mat and Jessica, outside of camp. Atticus has recognized them and was very excited to see them. They recognize Atticus and were happy to see him too! That tells me all I need to know about Deer Creek. Would highly recommend 10/10
Wonderful, attentive and caring "camp counselors" take care of your "camper" like their own! They keep the ratio of counselor-to-camper low, as well as perform temperament testing to ensure your pup has the best camp experience!
