Providing Pet Sitting in the Port Matilda, Pennsylvania
Retired couple delighted to take excellent care of your pets and home.
Cathy and Scott were fabulous sitters! They definitely rate far more than a 5. From the very first picture of my pups to the last I could see how caring and loving they were with my dogs. When my husband and I arrived home the house was spotless, all linens and towels washed, bed made and the best part was happy dogs! We even had dinner waiting for us in the fridge and muffins on the counter. I could not ask for better dog and house sitters than Cathy and Scott. Count yourself lucky if you can have them sit for your pets. I hope in the future that I can entice them to come back. Thanks for everything!!

Beirne is a very clearly a dog person. My pups took to her in less than a minute of meeting. It was clear that Beirne has been enjoying her travels with the added bonus of being able to sit for other people’s pets. We spent a day together to show the ropes, walks and local amenities before we left. We had daily pupdates with photos and videos. Our pups looked loved and safe in their own home. Our home was very clean and tidy when we got back and we would highly recommend you accept Beirne’s offer for future sits.

We had such a wonderful experience with Helen as our housesitter. She is a most unique and interesting person who manages to juggle a demanding job with taking great care of our pets. Both of our animals -- but especially our dog, Gabby -- fell in love with Helen and moped around for a few days after she left. That tells you everything you need to know. We enjoyed getting to know Helen, as she arrived a day or so before we left, and she even played a few pieces on her alphorn -- an instrument we'd never heard played live before. She's an accomplished musician, a wonderful sitter, and a quality person. Much appreciated!

Energetic, reliable , trustworthy sitter for your pets and home
Nancy and Wayne were great. One of the things that needs to be done here is light our split log wood boiler, which some people can find complicated. Wayne understood this straight away and just got on with it. We came home to a spotless house and happy pets. We'd be happy to recommend Nancy and Wayne to anyone considering them.

Cynthia was a perfect pet sitter for our little kitty. We knew from her extensive experience with cats that Nala was in good hands. She was extremely responsive via texts when we were away, ensuring us that the 2 of them were having a great time. She went absolutely above and beyond by scrubbing our bath and toilets to remove our mineral deposit rings that we haven't been able to get rid of! She even left the name of the product she used so we can get more in the future. The house was cleaner than when we left. We'll have her back anytime!
Ally was great! We got to meet for a few minutes before I headed out and I felt super reassured that both Goose and my home were in good hands. My cat is picky when it comes to strangers, but he was comfy in Ally’s lap right away the first night! She communicated well and sent cute pictures while I was away. My home was clean and Goose was happy when o got back. I highly recommend Ally as a sitter and she’s welcomed back anytime!
Kimberly was a wonderful sitter who watched our two cats for us while we were out. She was willing to come a day early to help acclimate herself with the animals, and this was exceedingly helpful in making sure the cats would be comfortable with her during our absence. I would highly recommend Kimberly if you're looking for a responsible, caring sitter.
Someone was smiling down on us when Kevin and Mary clicked on our very first House Sitter advert. They are straightforward, pleasant, reliable and fun. They kept in touch about their own plans when their flights were delayed. They tactfully left the house when our own cancelled flights meant we were staying a few hours longer than first planned. They sent just the right amount of photos, videos and texts of our cat while we were away! We all loved that. And on our return, oh my word, the house fairies had been to visit! They somehow managed to walk the perfect line between improving everything, without interfering at all. Clean, tidy, replenished. They asked what food we’d like on our return and boy did they deliver! Home made bean stew :-) and different things for the children. Really kind and generous. Communication was clear and also witty..! They dealt with the churn of small mammals our “somewhat independent” cat brought through the flap without complaint. They are a really nice couple, exuding a lovely American warmth and charm. It was a real pleasure, Kevin and Mary, thank you.
Raquel was simply terrific! She and her husband, Miguel, had to fill in at the last minute for another sitter who had a death in her family. This meant that the length of the stay and sitting they had originally signed up for doubled. Completely undaunted, they did a GREAT job for us. Our cat and dog got lots of love and affection, and plenty of exercise, food, and rest. Our house and yard were cared for with equal conscientiousness. It was wonderful for us to be able to rely so completely on these super zeewoi. We recommend them 100 percent!
Kimberly was absolutely wonderful, and we couldn't have had a better sitter for our first experience with zeewoi. Marshmallow loved Kimberly instantly and our cats (who can be a little standoffish) opened up right away with her. She asked great questions that helped us tailor our Welcome Guide to make sure we could be good hosts. Thank you, Kimberly!
Anna was a wonderful sitter for our furry friends. My dog, Luke, bonded with her and was sad when she left. My cats would crawl under the covers and curl up with her at night. She is a true animal magnet and lover. I highly recommend Anna to anyone who wants their pets to recieve first class love while away.
If Cung ever applies to your post for a house or pet sit, I strongly encourage you to jump at the offer. You will not be disappointed. Cung is among the top (if not the top) sitter I’ve ever had and I’ve been on this site for years. Primarily, Cung is very organized. In the weeks and days leading up to the sit, Cung kept me abreast of his plans and status. I felt very comfortable in the days leading up to the sit because I knew the plan we made to exchange the keys and walk him through the instructions would work as planned. Second, Cung really cares. When he got to my apartment after what I assume was a long day of traveling, I explained the care instructions and he was very attentive and cared about the details - asking very specific questions on how to care for my cat and apartment. I had some pretty specific rules about how to feed my cat and take care of him and Cung followed those exactly. Third, Cung makes you feel comfortable while you are away. I got daily or twice daily updates about my cat. I got pictures which made me feel like my cat was having a good time. My cat came out within an hour of me being away - very fast for my cat as he is shy. Cung must have a calming energy towards animals. Cung was also very responsive when I reached out first - replying within 5 minutes. I really appreciated that. My cat threw up at one point and Cung answered all of my questions to assess whether my cat was sick or had just eaten too fast. Fourth, Cung will take good care of your apartment/house. I came back to a SPOTLESS apartment. The sheets were washed and folded on my bed. The towels were washed. The apartment had been vacuumed. The kitchen was clean. The dishwasher had been run. Everything was in its place when I returned. Honestly, cleaner than when I left it which is difficult since I am a very clean person. Cung also respects your property. I have an extensive computer setup that he used for work and he was very respectful of that equipment. He asked if he could use it beforehand, which was incredibly polite since he could have used it and I wouldn’t have known. In sum. You need to jump at the opportunity if Cung offers to sit for you. I came home to a very happy cat. Hope he will sit for me again sometime!
Greetings Pet People, I am a bit late leaving my review for Kristine who is local to us and has taken care of our kitties Max and Luis a few times this year. After COVID-19 was announced in March, our travel plans came to an abrupt halt. We had to cancel a lot of trips we had planned but decided that it was safe to go camping a couple of times this summer. We called on Kristine as one of our favorite sitters on this site. We discussed safety protocols and agreed to cleaning that we would do to leave the house safe for her to enter. She shared protocols that she had taken with other homeowners and had sound processes to make us feel safe leaving our cats and our home in her care. She even purchased batteries for our automatic cat feeder when it failed to let one of our confused kitties to eat. Kristine is a smart, humorous and a thoughtful person. I would not hesitate to recommend her for your sit. She truly loves animals and taking care of your home. Highly recommended! Thanks Kristine!
Tonya was great and filled in after our other sitter had to cancel. She was very self sufficient and navigated acclimating herself to everything since she arrived after we left. She gave thoughtful updates on my cat and I could tell she really enjoyed her, so that means the world to me! She left the place immaculate and we will certainly have Tonya back!
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home for free at Zeewoi.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $20/day per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Zeewoi.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Zeewoi cat sitters for free, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
NEVER AGAIN!!! We dropped two healthy (proof of health from our vet provided) pets off on Monday and picked them up Saturday. Our Lab (5f) was so sick, if we would've been gone a day or two longer she would be dead. We took her straight to our vet. She had an injury down to the bone on her elbow, she was severely stressed and weak. She couldn't jump into our truck or up onto the sofa, she couldn't even climb the two steps up to our porch. We had to lift her. It was a good 10-12 days until she was back to herself. I can't imagine what they did to her, and Jackie gave us every excuse in the book, it seemed rehearsed. Like I said...NEVER AGAIN! This place should be shut down, it's filthy! I also want to add, this is not the first time we've boarded our pets, our regular kennel was booked that week.
Our dogs have stayed for a variety of times, ranging from a weekend to a full week. Every time they stay, our dogs have been so excited to see the Stone Valley staff and are returned to us in high spirits and not at all anxious or sick. Definitely recommend!
Jackie and her team were great! I felt so comfortable dropping them off to her and her team! They took great care of our pups!!
We have used Stone Valley Pet Lodge for our two dogs twice now. They’ve taken excellent care of them both times and had no problem dealing with our one dog’s slightly complex medication schedule. It’s a beautiful location and I like that my dogs are able to share a room and stay together. They’re very responsive by phone and email. It’s such a relief to know my dogs are well taken care of when we’re out of town!
My Belgian Malinois Loves, going to Stone Valley Pet Lodge. She gets to play with other dogs, has a very nice area to exercise and the people really care about your pet.
We moved to the area and left our 2 dogs at Stone Valley for an international trip. Jackie and her crew made us feel confident that they would be OK. They were well taken care of and we will certainly bring them back!
We have boarded our 2 dogs there numerous times. They are very caring about your pets & are good with following special instructions. They have excellent hours for pick up & drop off & are open 7 days. They also do grooming.
Jackie and her team are incredible! Have used them a handful of times now after the recommendation from a friend and couldn’t be more grateful. She most recently was able to take our 9 month old Australian Shepard today for the weekend with ZERO notice whatsoever. The lady deserves a long vacation, and we are so grateful to have found her and her team. They clearly love the animals. Plus as a bonus there’s a really awesome pig that hangs around
My dog is greeted at Stone Valley like Norm was at Cheers when I drop him off! I feel fortunate to leave him with caretakers who clearly love their jobs.
This is the best pet boarding place in / around State College. Jackie and her crew were very attentive to my dog, and had no worries about taking in my very loving pitbull, for weeks on end. I can't recommend this place more!
Royal Pet Resort is the best! I have been bringing my dog here for a couple years and have always had a great experience. My dog is pretty particular/anxious, but she is always excited to be dropped off here. She even has some staff members that she practically runs to (which is a big deal for her)! The staff and owner (Becky) are always so friendly and go the extra mile to remember faces/names/details of you and your pet. They also keep you well-informed and pay close attention to your pet throughout, which is great. I appreciate that they have a range of office hours and are also flexible as they allow you to schedule appointments outside of office hours if needed. Highly recommend!
Leaving my furry best friends behind can be ruff, but Royal Pet Resort turned my anxiety into pure joy! My dogs, Trex and Azek (like the deck), came home happy, exhausted (in the best way!), and with tails wagging a million miles a minute. It's clear they had an absolute blast while I was gone. The staff at Royal Pet Resort are true pet lovers. They kept me updated throughout my trip with pictures and messages, letting me know exactly how Trex and Azek were doing. It was such a relief to see them playing, and getting all the love and attention they deserve. Honestly, they probably had more fun without me! No offense to myself, but Royal Pet Resort has all the bells and whistles to keep energetic pups like mine entertained. They clearly prioritize playtime and socialization, and it showed in my happy, worn-out pups upon pickup. If you're looking for a place where your dog will be treated like royalty (pun intended!), then look no further than Royal Pet Resort. They eased my worries, gave my pups an unforgettable stay, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any pet parent!
I have 2 polar opposite dogs - a social butterfly and then very reactive dog, who takes thyroid medication even . 75lb each. So it’s always been extremely difficult and stressful using a boarding place when grandpawrents are unavailable to dog sit. Royal Pet Resort has been an amazing and reliable place I can take both dogs and know they will each be taken care of safely and appropriately given their personalities. Royal will always accommodate the reactive dog and still allow her to play with her doggie brother and run around the big yard to get energy and any stress out. I’ve used the doggie school bus multiple times before and love how it’s very safe and secure for each dog with their own kennel; too cute! Highly recommended Royal Pet Resort
I love my dogs and cats. Love Your pets? Bring them to Royal Pet Resort if you live in State College and Vicinity.
I needed to board my dog with very short notice during a family emergency. The staff at Royal Pet Resort eased my anxieties about boarding my dog and gave me a tour of their facilities. The price is comparable to other businesses near State College, but the kennels are much nicer at Royal Pet Resort. Sage was happy & healthy at time of pickup. One note - there is no data service with some providers at this location. I would definitely recommend downloading the local map in your navigation system so that you can get back on the road easily when you depart.
We boarded our German Shepherd, Ellie, at Royal Pet Resort for 8 days over Thanksgiving, 2023. We couldn't be happier with the care she received. This is not Ellie's first visit and Royal Pet Resort has become our 'go-to' boarding option when we are out of town. Becky, Dietz, and the staff have taken the time to truly get to know Ellie and that has been a comfort to us when we're away. Ellie is very active and we are able to schedule an exercise program to fit her needs. Like most German Shepherds, she is also very loyal (her nickname is 'Velcro'), so she is not always comfortable in new surroundings and around new people - not to worry, Ellie comes back to us happy and healthy.
We have been trusting the folks at Royal Pet Resort for years to take care our dogs in our absence. Good, friendly staff who obviously care about our pets. Plenty of room and special care if needed. Best of all, Ziggy (dog) trots right in.
Update: Boots didn't visit his friends at Royal Pet Resort for nearly 3 years due to COVID and having adult children who could pet sit for free. He was happy to go back, and he did fine. I was worried because he's almost 15 now, and he's slowed way down and has more fears (crows?!), but he did fine. My 5 star review from 5 years ago stands. My dog loves the people here. I could elaborate, but I think that's enough. He's been going here for 10 years. And, he is so happy when I drop him off.
Our yellow lab has been going to the pet resort since he was a puppy. He is now 7 years old and loves going to doggie day care. He loves the pool, loves his play time with his friends and especially loves the staff. It feels good knowing my puppy is in good hands. When I pull up to the pet resort, Jaxin is ready to go; running out the door wanting to play. I wouldn’t take Jaxin anywhere else. Thank you royal pet resort for taking such great care of our baby.
Left my three pups and two cats worked out an average of $52 a day per pet, so NOT the place to use if you have multiple pets. Figured we might have got a break for the 3 pups sharing but the POLICY is per per per day, so $1300 for 5 night stay,
I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about Claire and everyone at Digman Canine Academy! We have a 2 year old Golden Retriever who started resource guarding and attacking our other family pets. We have gone to other trainers, but no one gave us the answer to our problem, until we met Claire. We decided to go with the 3 week stay and train program and I am truly in disbelief in the transformation. They treated Lila like their own, and they have also given her the confidence and skills she has needed. So far, we have not have any issues with her trying to resource guard or go after any of our other animals. Lila is also able to properly walk on a leash, stay when told, and many other things. We are now to the point of Lila beginning to get her freedoms back, and even when she has her free time, she decides to put herself back on “place.” Overall, Claire and her team have done amazing work with Lila. Claire does a fantastic job at keeping you updated about the dog’s progress, and posts throughout the week on social media so you can see the dogs progress for yourself. If you are looking for a trainer, look no further! We will most definitely be returning to Digman Canine Academy for any of our future fur babies!
Claire and the trainers at Digmans are top notch! We have two playful doodles…one stubborn and one that lacked focus. Both were barkers and dog reactive. After 7 working sessions, they both are able to stay in place, heel, walk by other dogs and barking in and out of the house is reduced by a ton!!! There’s still work to be done and we’re committed since they have come SO far! We loved the way things were explained and we never felt pressure to do anything since day 1…it was all recommendations and we decide. Highly recommended for any dog to correct behavior or learn new skills. Worth the time and money!
My little Fitz did a 3 week Stay & Train with Claire. When I dropped him off he was a 6 month old mini-bernedoodle with a great personality but no self-control, way too much excitement around all living things, and a non-stop bark. When Claire brought him back to me, his sweet personality was unchanged, but now he can sit, down, stay, place, heel, and so much more. I am able to take him walking off leash, he can be in rooms full of kids and dogs and hold a place (silently). He is a changed dog. He has been home for few weeks now and he is retaining everything. (I think that means that the 2-hour return home training that Claire did for Fitz’s human also worked.) I am blown away but what Claire was able to do in just 3 weeks. I cannot recommend her and the DCA team highly enough!
Purchased the small pack for in-home dog training to get some help with my mini Aussie and some mild reactivity issues. Kelsey was great, spending an hour with us each time and teaching me things to implement long term to manage him better. I also have a number of clients who have used Digman and everyone loves the results they get. In particular, Digman trained dogs seem to do very well here in my off leash dog boarding environment. Pic of my mini in "place".
Our dog Moe completed two weeks of board and train and he has a whole new life. He is now able to go on all our adventures with us. This weekend we took him to a dog friendly restaurant and he laid beside us for two hours and didn't react to any of the stimulus around him. He has confidence and trust with us. He walks beside us but can also go free on hikes and comes when we call him. Thanks to Kelsey and Claire we have a wonderful, lifelong relationship with our dog.
We took our dog, Wyatt (the spotted one) to Digman Canine Academy to help him with fear/fear aggression issues. We worked with Kelsey and she was fabulous! She taught us all the things we needed to be doing on a daily basis to help him. We have stuck with it and it has made such a difference! This picture may not look like much, but that is Wyatt laying calmly on the ground while three men (complete with chain saws, a bobcat, stump grinder, ropes, pulleys...and all the sounds that come with them) removed 6 of our neighbors trees. This is the same dog who used to bark at the toaster oven ding and run for cover when you clicked on a lamp!! He is steadily becoming a different dog, MUCH more confident and also more obedient. If you do the work, you will see results! I was very skeptical because Wyatt was SO fearful of almost everything. The changes she had us make seemed so small, but they made SUCH a difference! I would whole heartedly recommend them! Thank you Kelsey!!! 😊
We just completed our 7 weeks of dog training and we are thrilled with the results. Ethan trained us and he was fantastic. One of my favorite things about Ethan is that he listened to us and adapted the training to fit what works best for our life style. Our dog, Mack, adored Ethan as well. We are absolutely amazed at how calm and well behaved Mack is now! It has been life changing in our household and it is obvious that our dog is a much more content dog. He knows the rules and what is expected of him. We highly recommend Digman Canine Academy. I imagine that all of their trainers are great, but we are partial to Ethan! Thank you for helping our family!
Like other reviewers, I'm finding it difficult to find the right words to express my gratitude to Claire at Digman Canine Academy. I reached out to Claire in the spring (2021) and we started working together in mid-April with my 1 year old Black Lab, Tess. I wanted Tess to be able to experience the whole world, to be able to take her to parks, lakes, friend's houses, the extended care facility where my mom lives, on vacations, to be able to have friends over and not have her all over them, basically I wanted to learn how to teach Tess to enjoy and experience a "great dog life" because she is a great (!) dog. And that is exactly what Claire taught me how to do. It's not overstating to say, Claire changed Tess' life ~ and mine. Claire makes what you need to know to teach your dog the things they need to know ~ easy, doable, and most of all, it's clear she cares. Thank you so much Claire. If there were 6 stars ..... :-)
I cannot even start to express how grateful we are to have found Claire. My 2 year old Golden Retriever has been through multiple private training in the past and nothing has worked. We enrolled Max in a 2 week board and train and the progress was unbelievable. Just when we thought Max was untrainable, Claire worked her magic. Max worked on his anxiety, uncontrollable excitement, and loose leash walking. Claire kept us posted through out the two weeks with pictures and videos. When she told us he’d be able to hold his stay for over an hour, we were all shocked and impressed. Claire also taught us so much about how to communicate with Max and how to help him feel confident in himself, which has helped him get over so many of his fears. Hands down the best dog trainer and we will definitely be back in the future. Would highly highly recommend to everyone we know!
We had Ethan as our trainer for the private 7 week lessons, and he was absolutely amazing!! Our dog went from being so reactive to everything, to now I can take him to parks filled with dogs and people and he walks right by my side. These lessons were 100% worth it and I ESPECIALLY recommend Ethan. He helps to guide you and your pup for when you go home and is so patient with his teachings. He truly seems to love what he does and you couldn’t have a better person to help with your dogs needs!
If you want a place to dump your pet in a cage and leave them and that’s it- this is the place for you. I took my Great Dane puppy here for 2 overnights- She came home acting fine, other than the fact that she immediately drank THREE BOWLS of water and scarfed down 2 bowls of food. Never in her life has she done this. If it was the case that she would not eat there- they should have told my husband when he picked her up! But she clearly had drank barely ANY water. Ny girl went 4 days without eating during a fake pregnancy and this is what she looked like- so I know she didn’t eat. I know it wasn’t the food because I sent OUR own special food for her. I should have known when every pic of a dog I’ve seen online from this place has empty bowls in with the dogs :( This place is Literally a doggy jail. A small area that they get locked in until you pick them up. I went here based off reviews and recommendations, but all recommendations are on the owner, and how he’s a good person etc. he was very short with me. Didn’t ask for any vaccination stuff, literally asked no questions at all. “Just here put your dog here” and that was it! For all he knew my dog had zero vaccinations and something that could have spread to all the dogs there. 🤦♀️
My pitt bull was kept there a few days til I could relocate to a steady place . When I went to pick him up , I was told he is on medication . When I asked why he was on medication , I was informed that my pitt bull , Harley was neutered without my consent . I left my boy out the kennel , & put him in the car & left . This place is a joke ... I wouldn't let them watch a stuffed animal ..
I have finally found the best groomer. No more trying place after place looking for a groomer to do a complete job, treat my 2 dogs nicely and do a fantastic job. Mark was fabulous on all counts and I won’t ever need to go anywhere else. Well worth the travel! Thank you Mark & Mark’s Dad!
If all you want is a place to dump your dog for the day, I guess this will work. The people were friendly but this is the most unprofessionally run kennel we’ve ever used, from Maine to Florida to the western US. Not even the bare minimum of information was requested from us. Vaccination history of our dog, contact info, phone number, not even his name. And I could tell my dog absolutely hated it. We found another place and drove 3 times as long the wrong direction just so he wouldn’t have to go there again, and they were fantastic from top to bottom, and cheaper on top. How this kennel has rated 4 stars is a so beyond me. The only positive thing I can really say is it has a good location.
My dogs were well cared for and safe. They were nice enough to squeeze in baths even though it was a last minute request. Dogs don't get playtime or walks so I wouldn't use for more than a night or two but they were happy and not stressed when I picked them up. Service was friendly. Kennels were a nice size with indoor outdoor access.
Very friendly, personal service. This is the only place in Centre County that I can get my dogs food, and they have stayed open a few extra minutes when I wasnt able to make it before closing. They've also mentioned, since I work with rescue dogs, that if I ever knew of anyone who couldn't afford dog or cat food that they would work with them. I've personally never had to take advantage of that offer, but I was very touched nonetheless.
The owner was very helpful and honest about questions I had about products. I felt like I was talking to a caring neighbor rather than a businessman. You can't walk in there expecting uniform service but you will receive sense that you purchased your pet supplies from someone who cares about the animals and not the money. He offered me a product for free to take home and see if it worked well for my newly adopted dog. I feel confident and sure about going there for any product and or questions.
This kennel is no frills facility, but the employees care and will keep your pet well during their stay. I personally had a scenario where my spouse was in the hospital, and the gentleman at Lyons allowed my friends to pick up my dogs and pay later instead of my friends paying on pick up. Good honest folks.
So we love our dogs like most dog owners and I have to say, if you absolutely care for your pets, then do not take them to this kennel. I pulled up and I instantly said this is not a good place. Unfortunately we were in a bind so I left my two dogs there. When we called, we were told that both dogs would have cots. The cots consist of a cheap piece of cloth on the floor. We were also told that each dog would have stainless steel bowls to eat and drink from. The water bowl is a 5 gallon bucket when I showed up. The kennel was not clean at all. Also, I went back to get my dogs the same day bc I could not bare to leave them there. When I went back, nobody was available so I walked straight into the kennel (nobody around) and leashed my dogs up without anyone noticing until I was just about in my vehicle. I never write reviews but this is one I felt compelled to write. I would never recommend this place to anyone for any reason.
2 years ago my wife and I went to Maine to look at the fall foliage. boarded my lab at lions kennel. came back home 5 days later and called the pick my dog up on a Monday. they advised me my dog hasn't been up in 3 days and I rushed down to the kennel to find my dog lying on concrete in is own urine and feces! swollen back legs! a cut over his eye! pus in his eye and a hole in his lip. could not hold his head up and maggots crawling all over him! my vet was 50 yd across the street at straly vet! they never called to advise me of this emergency, nothing! my wife and I were 5 hours out we coulda come home immediately. after putting my dog on a tarp and getting him across the street it took 3 bags of fluid for him to even open his eyes. at 3:30 in the afternoon we had to make the call to put the dog down because it was too debilitated! lions kennel refused to give me an explanation as to what happened to my dog and why he had all these injuries! I would not even give them one star I would give them -100 stars don't ever take your dog to Lyons kennel!
We've seen Andrea for two classes with our GSD now, and we can't wait to sign up for another! Very patient, knowledgeable, and makes class fun for us and our pup. Highly recommend Auntie G's for all first-time and experienced dog owners.
We've taken two classes with Andrea for our 1-2 yr old GSD. Both classes were super educational and helpful. Andrea's knowledge and care for dogs is very evident, I highly recommend her classes for any dog.
We’ve taken 3 classes so far with Andrea. She is patient and encouraging and has helped us learn what our new pup is capable of. Very nice training facility with excellent equipment and small class sizes.
Auntie G was great. She went above and beyond to help make my cats feel at home while I was away. She was so professional which made me feel safe giving her my key. She made time to meet with me before hand so that I could show her my place and instructions. She is an animal lover of her own, so I can tell she cares about them deeply. I came home to a happy, clean crew for an affordable price!!! Will definitely be booking with her again.
Andrea is totally reliable. We use her for our two Labs whenever we can.
Thanks so much Rick! I am so glad I could help with your puppy!
Thank you Laurie!
Dog Valley has been nothing but wonderful for my boy, Axel. He was welcomed by the friendly staff and it quickly became one of his favorite places! I could not recommend this place more, the staff is so caring and friendly, the dogs always leave happy. 5/5 ! Thank you for playing with Axel during his time in State College! 🖤 …
Chelsie does the absolute best dog on our Golden Retriever/Miniature poodle/Bichon mix. He doesn’t shed, but I can’t imagine the grooming nightmare he must be. Simply brushing him is a workout! My dog, Indiana, always comes back looking fantastic. Every. Single. Time. We get him clipped quite close except for his tail and ears and a bit longer around his face and Dog Valley Grooming is the only place we’ve tried that doesn’t (to put it bluntly) make him look stupid. He is just as adorable coming out with a fresh new cut than he is going in with his fluffy, dense, curly coat. The large chain pet store had him looking really dumb with his body shaved down to the skin (he looked pink and had nicks) because he was “matted” and his head shaped so he came out looking like a weird and terrified chicken/schnauzer combination. We thought that maybe they were having a bad day and have them another shot but asked for a different groomer. This time they had shaved down the base of his tail half way up because he was “matted” and though they at least didn’t shave him down to skin- he now had a very poofy head and some nicks. He now will tremble and whine if we ever go near that store. Dog valley grooming has never once said he was matted (we brush him regularly with a special $60 “German Engineered” brush- which really does work- it’s a miracle anything can get through his coat), though I can still imagine he must be a pain to groom with his very dense, thick curls. They’ve never taken the “easy way” out and shave him down to skin. He’s also never received any cuts or nicks and is quite happy to go get groomed! (This fella doesn’t even like baths). Their prices are similar to the store that won’t be named. As a doodle owner, I’d love to keep his coat long like you see in all the pictures, but because he is a “mutt” and we like being active outside- he will never have “long wavy locks.” Dog Valley lets him be just as cute as all the other doodles with long fur, but rocking his own style that is much easier for me to maintain (and get a tick comb through in summer). I would highly recommend anyone with a dog that is “difficult to groom without having them look stupid or bald,” check out Dog Valley Grooming. I’m sure there are other great groomers in the area, but since I only have experience with two- I’m sticking with Dog Valley.
Our mini Golden doodle goes to Dog Valley every Wednesday. When I drop her off, it feels like the days of dropping my kids off at preschool. As the weeks go by, Kaiya has become much more comfortable with the Dog Valley staff and she happily goes down the hallway each day to join her friends. Spending the day at daycare gives Kaiya lots of healthy exercise and her nine year old Golden Retriever brother at home gets a needed break from his puppy sibling. Thank you Dog Valley.
I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for Dog Valley yet! I’ve been taking my dog there for almost 4 years for daycare. Nancy and her staff are awesome. My dog loves going there and spending the day, he gets a nap time and I am able to bring him food to eat for lunch. They post pictures on their Facebook everyday so you are always updated. I highly recommend taking your dog there!!
Our dog did well with grooming until recently. He became anxious and aggressive at his last appointment. The groomers welcomed us back to try again and worked with him to the point that they were able to groom him! They are wonderful. They were so patient and understanding. We are so grateful for Dog Valley Grooming after bad previous experiences at other groomers. Would highly recommend this place!
They have consistently given our dogs great hair cuts. They were great with our puppy for her first grooming appointment.
Had a great experience my first time here getting my husky groomed. Took about 2 hours and she was so soft, for nails clipped, ears cleaned and very well priced.
Our goldendoodle puppy, Shade, loves DVDC! We started bringing him when he was old enough to join for half days. Pick-up and drop-off processes are easy and the staff are all very friendly and recognized Shade from early on. The staff even worked with us to identify a group of friends (i.e., day of the week) that Shade would be happiest with. He is happy, exhausted, and well-behaved upon returning home! We also love the van transport option now that Shade is old enough to go for full days. This makes it much easier for me to continue working from home with little interruption - and Shade happily jumps inside. Thank you, DVDC!
I can't say enough wonderful things about Dog Valley Daycare! We entrust them with our pup and she LOVES the days she knows she's going there. The staff are so friendly and really listen to the owners and the needs of the pups. They also post tons of "day in the life" pictures on their social media page of the pups, which I love to view. If you are looking for a safe, loving place to bring your dog, this is it!
Super nice and patient staff. Took my rescue dog, who doesn't trust many people, for nail trimming and the staff were first rate! They were gentle and got him to relax, and they did a great job at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.
Very nice people, and the dogs were happy when we picked them up. I think they enjoyed being able to go in and out of the runs. Also, great price for State College area. We will definitely be using them again.
Just a basic kennel, nothing fancy. Took well enough care of my dog for the few days he was there but wouldn't take him for an extended time period. A little drive out in the country to get to and the older gentleman doesn't seem overly helpful.
Friendly staff and great care for my dog.
Jax and Ruby just love it here. The staff is so friendly and the dogs are very well taken care of. I just love that they take pictures!
The staff was kind and clearly loves and cares for the animals so well! Communication was fast and clear. In the past, we’ve felt uneasy leaving our dog at home, but with Sugar Run, we knew our girl was in good hands! We were thankful for Vicki giving our girl some extra TLC while we were gone, too! Highly recommend this place and the care they offer the animals!
We have used Sugar Run for years for our dogs. We know our dogs are well cared for while we are gone. I love seeing the updates of our pups on their Facebook page while we are away. It makes me feel so much better knowing they are doing ok. The staff at Sugar Run truly love dogs and take such good care of them. We don’t even consider another kennel.
My dog loves Sugar Run! and every employee I have ever come in contact loves the dogs in their care. My dog feels like home and I have no worry about him while in their care. Use Sugar Run. your dog will thank you.
This was Simon's first overnight experience away from home and he did great! I received pictures of him during off leash playtime with staff and at the dog park. Picked him up a week later and he was happy and healthy. Couldn't ask for more!
We did a lot of searching for a solid and good place for boarding our two dogs, after our former boarding placed closed. Sugar Run is great. Tried it out with an overnight, and my wife and I are very happy. Good people.
We would never take our dogs anywhere else!! They take photos of your loved ones and post them to their Facebook page. So you can see almost daily updates on your pets! Very large fenced in area for them to run and play 😀 …
My dogs are happy and get plenty of exercise! The staff is caring and love animals!
Our pups just love Sugar Run! We get there and they run right in. Dogs are the best judge of character! They make me feel better about leaving them when we go away. They keep me updated the whole time.
Wonderful, wonderful kennel! We love sugar run and so do our fur babies! They are always responsive, kind, and more than professional! We are so happy to have found such a wonderful kennel that we can rely on always!
Highly recommend this kennel facility! Reuben and his entire family were extremely friendly and helpful for my dogs first stay. Peaceful Valley Dog Boarding came recommended to me and I am glad I tried him out. The kennels are large and very clean. Lots of outdoor space for fresh air several times a day. There is no behind closed doors, unknown treatment of your pet.
I recently boarded my Weimaraner, Misty, at Peaceful Valley Dog Boarding, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! The facility was immaculately clean, and it was clear that Reuben and his family take great pride in maintaining a high standard. This kennel was recommended by my neighbor, and it absolutely lived up to the praise. Most importantly, Misty was well-cared for and happy when I picked her up—a true testament to the love and attention she received.
Would highly recommend! Reuben and his family were so kind and I heard the kids just loved our puppy. She was well taken care of in the clean facility, that also plays calming dog music. They were accommodating and have already recommended to others. I have a neighbor that has already booked with them for next month due to the wonderful experience we had. Thank you for taking care of our Aspen!
We’ve boarded our dogs here a few times now (for a week long trip and a couple of overnight/weekend trips). Both of our dogs have been happy and well taken care of. The high fencing makes me feel more comfortable as our one lab is a jumper! The owners are so kind and friendly!
This place is great. We drive across I80 in PA to visit family in NYC a few times a year. This time, rather than boarding our dog in the usual large local kennels in our city, I found Peaceful Valley on a Google Search. It’s as others describe. Small (14 kennels), family atmosphere, very clean and modern, in a beautiful country setting. We’ll be using it from now on for our NYC trips. Thanks, Reuben!
Peaceful Valley dog boarding was recommended to me when I was having trouble finding a new place to care for my dogs when traveling. It’s always difficult to leave your pets somewhere new, but when I arrived at Peaceful Valley dog boarding with my two golden retrievers I was greeted by Reuben and his family as well as a well kept, clean facility. When I picked them up 10 days later they were happy and energetic. I really appreciate that Reuben is flexible with drop off and pick up times and I really felt like my dogs were in a family atmosphere and not a standard kennel. The family environment and it being a smaller facility that is very clean gave me comfort that my dogs would get the attention and care they need. We will be taking our dogs there for all of our out of town trips ! Thank you for taking great care of Biscuit and Bandit!
I needed to board my Shih Tzu for the first time since I rescued her and was very nervous and stressed about leaving her. The place is spotless and they took very good care of her! One of the children bonded quickly with Tess and I loved knowing she'd have playtime while she was there. I will not have unnecessary anxiety next time knowing she's in such good caring and capable hands. Highly recommend!
Our pup stayed at their kennel for a little over a week while our family went on vacation. You could tell he was well cared for. The kennels are clean and well air conditioned, which in the heat we’ve been having was a major plus for my pup! Reuben and his family are so kind! Highly recommend to anyone looking to board their dog, we will definitely take ours back anytime we need a kennel!
Had my 2 German shorthairs here for 6 days. Excellent accommodations, very clean. Everyone in the family is involved, my girls got lots of attention. Plenty of love to go around. Highly recommend.
Thanks Peaceful Valley Dog Boarding! Rueben and his family took amazing care of our precious 5 year old dog! It was hot outside but cool on the very clean and orderly inside space for the pups. Great communication and care. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely use again!
