I am struggling with naming our top adjective to describe Michael and Jeanne. "Conscientious" will likely be it but then again, "personable," "reliable," "organised," and "animal-loving" are top contenders. If you are reading this review and contemplating inviting this couple to watch your pets, then look no further. We have had a number of excellent house sitters but this pair was next level in terms of the love they showed our cats, Maxx and Nala. When we came back, we could our animals already missed them. These cats, who have never slept with anyone other than us, were getting in bed with them each night -- and that meant climbing stairs! The day before our trip, Nala got an ear infection and had to be put on steroids for asthma. Michael and Jeanne did not sign up for that when the sit was booked but they took it in stride. In the last-minute rush, I relayed that Nala needed her oral steroids morning and night. Michael read the RX label, indicating one dose a day, and contacted the vet to clarify. So you can see why "conscientious" is right up there. They saved Nala from an overdose! We were gone three weeks and they sent us just the right amount of pictures and videos. They bought cat toys (I forgot to put ours out!) and actively engaged with them, including 20-minute massages for Maxx. I truly believed them when they said they fell in love with our fur babies. The house was spotless (which was not important to me but truly appreciated) but I smiled when all six water stations in our yard were filled. They took seriously my love for and the needs of the wildlife in our yard. Our plants were all in good condition as well. Sensing they were "next level" when I met them, I predicted they would want to leave a meal for us upon our return. I asked them not to but they found another way to bow out with class. They made a donation to a nonprofit I work with instead. This I learned from the lovely thank you note they left. I hope they will consider Charles and I friends because we certainly feel that way about them now. What special people. If you book them, treat them well because they are going to do that for you for sure.
I'm delighted to have found Lisa as a sitter and hope to have her back again! She was detail oriented and clearly cared about my cats' well being. She asked good questions about the cats' routines and needs and about the house to be sure she'd meet my expectations and have a comfortable and successful sit. She communicated very well before and throughout the sit and even though I was unreachable for much of the time I was confident everyone was in good hands. Lisa left the house in immaculate condition and the cats were relaxed and happy when I got home. What a delight!
Chris and Julia were our very first sitters and are the most perfect house/pet sitters anyone would ever want!!! Julia sent video/pictures of our fur babies everyday and we noticed early on that our animals were very relaxed and happy!! This made our trip so enjoyable and stress free knowing that our animals were safe and being spoiled and loved the whole time. They even trained our dog to sit while her leash was being attached and was able to pet and hold our cat that is somewhat nervous around strange people he doesn't know. When I got back from the trip, the house was very clean along with Julia/Chris had washed the bed sheets, bath towels, vacuumed, dusted etc., and even washed the pet bedding. They also left some SE Asia treats for us to try which so sweet of them. Definitely the perfect house sitters!!!
We are thoroughly pleased with and impressed by Daniel's kind, generous, and careful care of our cat and our house. He is a committed and experienced sitter who completely understands his role and responsibilities and also how to gently win the confidence and affection of a pet. He is an excellent communicator, and he kept us regularly up to date on our cat's well being--sending us texts and photos at least once/week as we requested. Our cat who is a little afraid of new people, grew fond of him, and we have returned to a very calm, contented cat. We highly recommend Daniel, and we ourselves would be thrilled to engage him again when the need arises.
Lindsey was super communicative, friendly, responsible, and an excellent sitter for our two cats. When we returned, our home was clean and our cats relaxed and happy as if we had never left ! She sent us photos and updates every day, as requested, and when a random mishap occurred in the apartment, she let us know right away and was proactive in handling issue. We felt like both our cats and our home were in very caring, capable and respectful hands. Excellent! Thank you Lindsey!
Nathalie and John were great! They were great house sitters to watch our two dogs, 2 geckos, our old cat and bull frog. Their two girls took good care of the animals as well. The house was exactly how we left it. We really appreciated their help!
Ruthee was a fabulous pet sitter for our three cats while we were gone for a month. Prior to the sit, she was consistent and communicative; she even came over early for a meet and greet to learn the routine. During the sit, she took great care of our three cats by playing with them (she made a fun cat toy!), scooping litter, feeding and watering them, and sent us text updates and pictures. We came home to happy fur babies and a clean home. She left the place very tidy which was greatly appreciated! We are so thankful for Ruthee and would recommend her should the opportunity arise. Your fur babies would be lucky to spend time with her. Thank you again for everything, Ruthee!
If you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies and your house while you're away, Daniel is your guy! I had discovered zeewoi just a couple of weeks before I was to leave on vacation and I was not only apprehensive if the website was too good to be true, but also under a real time crunch. I reached out to over 100 local sitters and several possibilities fell through. I was confident I would find the right sitter and when Daniel applied for the sit and I started to text and converse with him, I knew I had found the perfect sitter for my two cats! Daniel was upbeat and positive, articulate and personable, warm and caring, and he asked all the right questions about Lilly and Eli (I hadn't had the time to complete my Welcome Guide, yet!?!). I shared that I had an easy cat and problem cat -- Lilly, who is sweet, social and eats dry food, and Eli who is skittish, was periodically pooping outside the kitty litter box and was eating prescription canned food twice a day mixed with a probiotic and stool firmer. I asked if he thought he was up for the job and he happily said he was. Since he flew all the was from Chicago, I thought the least my husband and I could do was pick him up at the airport. When he arrived, he pulled out his notebook. He patiently walked with me as I reviewed kitty care, showed him around the house, and where he would be sleeping. He immediately picked up Lilly who was excited about meeting her new friend and Eli bugged out and down the stairs to the basement (his favorite hiding place!). We got Daniel connected to the internet, set him up at our dining room table and headed off to airport, leaving our house and kitties in the best of hands. Daniel wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and assured while we were away. He made sure to text with me every other day (he had asked my preference earlier), sent photos of Lilly being her cute self while Eli hid during the day although he gave me assurances that he was eating his food and using the litter box (there were a few accidents, but Daniel never complained about these additional duties). When we returned from our vacation, the house was also spotless and well cared for and Daniel had even washed the sheets for me! It is with utter happiness and complete confidence that I recommend Daniel as a fantastic Sitter. He is trustworthy, responsible, caring, and competent, and you can rest assured that both your house and sweet pets will be watched over and treated with TLC -- and will truly be in the best of hands while you are away!
Cat and Paul were wonderful sitters - our cats were contented and calm when we returned. And the house was spotless. Plus Paul mowed our entire yard including the back meadow - what a surprise! We very much enjoyed visiting with them as well and getting to know them. Highly recommend :)
Steven was a great sitter for our black lab Souris and cat Pinot. They were well looked after and really liked Steven. Our house was in good order when we got back and Steven was kind enough to give us a lift to and from the airport. He was very flexible, arriving day early so we could show him around.
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Sittsy.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least 20$ per visit, $18/week per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Sittsy.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Sittsy cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
We used Linn to watch our two cats while we away, and she did an amazing job. It was so nice to get to have them stay at home versus being separated for boarding. She administered medicine for one of our cats, tended to the litter box, made sure they got water/food, and played with them! Tremendous value for the price. She even got our mail for us. Would highly recommend!
The business owner is wonderful with pets. If you need to travel away from your feline fur babies for a short time, you can safely leave them in their comfortable home environment and Linn will come visit and feed them so they don't have to stay in a kennel. This service is super valuable to us.
This is the best place for day care and boarding! Linn is flexible to changing schedules, and quick to respond. She monitors the group closely, and makes sure all the dogs get along. Her yard is great for the dogs to run around, and the indoor space is great to keep them dry in the winter. I really like that when our dog boards here, that he is not in a kennel, and treated like family. Couldn't ask for a better place to send our dog to!
Linn is amazing!! She was a life saver! My husband and I have to travel a lot for work, and a lot of the travel is last minute. We gave Linn a set of our house keys, and we were able to call at the last minute and ask her to cat sit for us. When I travelled, I never worried about my little cats, I knew they were in good hands. I like Linn because she is a professional, she is licensed, and knows pet CPR! My cats are very shy, and don't always like strangers, but they loved Linn! I really felt that Linn genuinely cared for my cats. It was also nice to get pictures of my cats while I was on the road. I only wish that we still lived in Tacoma! **UPDATED: My husband and I had to travel for 3 weeks in a row. We didn't know what we should do with our cats. We don't live in Tacoma any more, and we didn't want to try a new cat sitter for that long. So Linn offered to board our cats! I can enjoy my vacation knowing that my cats are being looked after and cared for at Linn's place!
Linn is amazing with our dogs and has been extremely welcoming every time. She's also very accommodating with our needs. We moved further away but will continue to use her.
We take our two germans shepherds to Personal Pet Concierge and have loved them. We love that we get several updates from Linn several times while we are away, and we know that our dogs are being cared for throughout the day, not just left alone in a crate. We love that the dogs are not being kenneled and are in a home environment and aren't surrounded by a large number of other animals during their stay. Carter P.
We have taken our Mini Aussie Roo to stay with Pet Concierge a couple of times and she LOVES it. Lynn takes great care of her for a reasonable price as well. I appreciate that she sends updates with pictures of how Roo was doing while we were out of town which helped us relax knowing she was in great care. Roo always has a comfortable stay with dog beds, room to run and enjoys playing with the other animals that are staying with Lynn. Lynn even went the extra mile and bought us another bag of dog food when we ran out on the last day. Saved us a trip to the store on the way home when we picked up Roo. Highly recommend them for pet sitting.
Personal & Pet Concierge takes awesome care of my kitties. Even my shy - special needs kitty gets the care she needs. I get regular updates and I have peace of mind while I travel for work or fun. Linn and her team take awesome care of my fur babies! Thank you Linn and team!!
I love Personal and Pet Concierge. Linn and her team make traveling for work easy and stress free. I never worry about my cat anymore because I know he's in really good hands. While their services are 100% great, I want to highlight a couple areas in which I think P&PC excel. The first is communication. This is an important area for me (I'm a writing teacher) and I find that many petsitting agencies and individuals struggle to maintain adequate communication before an after my travels. P&PC have been wonderful communicators. They reply quickly to my efforts to schedule care for my pet. They send me updates (including images) while I'm away. And they are always clear about billing, visit schedules, etc. I couldn't ask for more. The second area is care. In the past, when I would return from a long trip my cat would be all out of sorts from a lack of TLC. Since I've been working with P&PC, he seems to barely notice that I've been away. This is because they visit him often and they treat him like he matters (like he's their own pet). It's not just about keeping food in his bowl. In sum, I can't recommend these folks any higher. I don't think you'll find better pet care in the area.
AMAZING! Our rescue Border Collie, Quinn, had always been a little apprehensive around other dogs, especially males. He spent a week with Linn & Mark and their bevy of guests. Quinn had the time of his life! He was exhausted and content when he got home. It has now been several months since his stay, and we continue to see the positive after-effects of his visit. He remains confident and more social. As a matter of fact, we had a true test shopping at the hardware store yesterday. Quinn was relaxed and social with a male dog, even sharing a treat! Thanks, Linn & Mark! Quinn loves you guys, too!
The absolute best. If this is a service you need, stop searching now and call Ayn. She constantly went above and beyond for my babies. She helped administer medicine for two of my dogs, and gave special care to one who went blind and ended up losing her eyes. My oldest became critically I'll and frail. Ayn took very special care of him until his final days. I don't know what we would have done without her.
We have used Go Dog Go Tacoma for over a year now. My two dogs get considerable anxiety when we are away. Ayn has been amazing with them. She understands their different personalities and during her visits calms each dog as they need. We happened to have her pet sitting during a heatwave and then the next time, a snowstorm. She moved things around to create cool spaces for our pets during the heatwave and to ensure they were safe and on this last visit, we touched base to be sure the dogs were warm enough when it snowed. I didn't worry for a second about the pets! She has GREAT availability - and never travels between Thanksgiving and New Year's. My only regret is that she doesn't watch kids as well :). My kids love her and my daughter always swarms her when we're setting up pet visits. I trust her with my pets and I know that if something went wrong, she'd have their best interest at heart.
I was really in a jam when my senior dog sustained a critical back injury and needed to be seen asap, but my car was not running. Go Dog Go came to the rescue, and then went above and beyond when vet after vet gave us conflicting information, sending us across town on a wild goose chase. I will definitely use Go Dog Go in the future if the need arises, and recommend them to anyone in need of a conscientious and caring professional for help with their canine-related needs.
Unfortunately I had to cancel last minute because of a situation beyond any of our control. GDG, was already on their way. The lady that came by(so sorry forgot your name)was extremely nice and understanding. I felt bad about cancelling so late so paid GDG half the fare it would have cost me. I also booked for 2 weeks out. Very respectful of fur your babies. Tansy her beloved companion is always on duty.🙂
Thank you for the rating. I really enjoyed taking care of your pets while you were gone. They are sweetie pies.
Boarded my Frenchie Balenciaga with Good Karma Pet Care when I went on vacation from 08/21-08/23. I had never boarded him before and was super nervous but Chelsea made me feel so much better about boarding him. Chelsea was so knowledgeable and friendly and took extra steps to make sure I felt at ease leaving my pup for a couple days. I could tell immediately that Chelsea really cares about the dogs in her care. I would recommend anyone who needs pet care to choose Good Karma. I know exactly who I will be calling the next time I need care for my pup. Thank you Chelsea and Good Karma!!
This review is so long overdue. If you're looking for a great doggy daycare, listen to me, you are never going to find better ownership and staff for a doggy daycare than here. They all loved my sweet Ada like she was their own pup, and you can tell they treat every dog with individualized love and care, which is so immensely valuable and rare. I became well acquainted with the owner and staff in no time - they're all very kind, friendly, often hilarious if you ask for a good story. Something that is also so rare is how creative they are - we still have every seasonal/holiday photo, laminated paw stamp, ornament, etc. They are all treasures we will love forever and we're so happy they take the time to create memories for us of Ada. I also love that they keep up on posting photos of the daycare dogs on their Facebook, where my mom would 'like' photos and engage with the staff in the comments. The place really became a part of our family and something to share in common with coworkers too. Until we had to begin looking for other daycares in Olympia I don't think I understood just how rare and lucky I'd been to be taking her here for all these years. No where else begins to meet the high level of service and love we got at this place. So if I could give this place a 20 out of 10 I would. If you're going to starting taking your doggo here please be fair to the staff, be kind and be appreciative of the amazing work they do, because you won't find a place like this anywhere else. Thank you all for the amazing years. Ada and I miss you and can't thank you enough for the wonderful memories.
0 if I could. Shame on you for making a profit off of a lost dog instead of giving it back to the owners after knowing you found the owners!!! If I know anything on law, but this is theft. You are gonna owe courts and a lot of people a lot of money with these fees after what you did… Your company and the story reached Arizona. Congratulations you’re almost infamous.
This is extremely sad, I don’t know how you can operate this business while also not reuniting a family. I don’t know how you don’t feel any guilt or remorse for this poor family and her fur-baby. It’s unprofessional and quite frankly sick. Please give this lady her dog back that’s your responsibility and your obligation as a pet provider. The puppy is probably so sad and misses its family and vise versa. Please do the right thing here!
We purchased a 10 use daycare pass, and were not told about any expiration. We had used it once when we were suddenly informed of the very short expiration window. $200 down the drain.
I don't know how I would have survived the last 7 months without Chelsea Bassett and the whole pack at Hound Hangout! I received a donated puppy to train as my service dog. Despite planning on this for over a decade, I was in the midst of a deep depression when I got him and completely unprepared for the bundle of energy I received. But the care and support my Charlie got at Hound Hangout, as well as the socialization, helped us both survive his difficult puppyhood. I transitioned to working full-time work during that time and knew he was even happier with them than if I were home with him. He is going to turn out to be a great dog, thanks in part to the calm, balanced and fun environment in which he got to spend much of the most vulnerable months of his life. I was also hospitalized twice in that time. I probably would have worried myself even sicker without knowing that someone as competent and caring as Chelsea was taking care of him. THANK YOU!!!
You will not find better pet care than good karma. I will never take my dogs any where else. The owner is such a kind caring person. My anti social dog gets so excited when she sees her
Love Good Karma. I’ve been taking my dog there since he was 4 or 5 months old. He’s 1.5 now. He loves it there and they love him. Super reasonably priced. I love that you don’t have to make a 24hr + reservation for daycare. Some mornings unexpected work things come up and I need to take him to daycare for a half day. Never a problem. He always come home tired and happy! He also boards there when I have to go out of town. Love the owner Chelsea and her staff.
We have brought our dogs here for 6+ years. I highly recommend them.
Well they are nice people, and our dogs are treated great. But! They don’t listen to our request. We have old schnauzers. They need shaved and their paws cut short. This is the second time they have been here. Their hair is still a quarter inch out side of their pads. The rest of their bodies are trimmed but still long. Not shaved. They will be ok and look ok. I just don’t know if we should go back or try the place down 6th ave.
My golden girls love spending the day at daycare while we are at work. The Staff is excellent and you can tell they care. I love the grooming. 5 stars!!
Fort Fido has been awesome for our dog. We started taking him there as a puppy to get socialized and here we are a year later and he still loves going! As soon as we say, “want to go to daycare?” Our dog goes straight to the door and is so happy to go! Thanks Fort Fido! Franklin loves it there 💚 …
Our dog Shadow loves it here! They always tell you how your dog did, like who they played with or if they noticed particular behavior for you to watch out for. For instance we took him there as a puppy and as he was nearing the age to consider neutering they let us know he was starting to attempt mounting other dogs. Or other times when by the end of a long day he barked a lot and seemed ready to go home. You can tell that they are very attentive. I fully trust them to watch our dog and have boarded him here as well with no issues.
I’ve been taking my dogs here for over ten years. Fort Fido has consistently been a 5 star experience! I appreciate that they do a free doggy assessment to make sure your dog will fit in with the other dogs. They do have some requirements like vaccinations and spay or neuter, which I appreciate. When my senior dog needed to be boarded a few days, they agreed to give her the medication’s and rest that she needed. I recently enrolled my puppy and it was so nice to have a safe place for my pup when I needed a few hours to run errands. Puppy is now 10 months old and completely socialized with other dogs. I like that they offer grooming services when your dog is there for daycare or boarding. I’ve gotten great advice from David the owner, in regard to food and training. They now have a new location in Puyallup as well as the Tacoma location. Online enrollment is easy. Fort Fido is the best!
We love the Fort! Our beagle, Levi, is 12 years old. When we moved to Washington last year, I was stressed out about finding a new place to board him during those rare trips for which he cannot join us, such as when we're out of the country or traveling for business. I am so thankful that we found Fort Fido. Whenever we drop him off, it's clear that Levi is happy to be there. He greets the staff and trots off to the play area without so much as a backward glance at dear old mom—which would break my heart if I didn't recognize it as a sure sign that he is comfortable there. When I pick him up, he greets me enthusiastically, but he is never stressed out, whiney, or overtired, as he has been after staying at some other boarding facilities in the past. This indicates to me that the staff are tailoring our little older gentleman's experience to meet his needs, that he's sleeping well while he's there, and that he feels secure and cared for until we pick him up. That, in turn, puts my mind at ease while I'm traveling. The facility is clean and well maintained, and the staff are some of the kindest, friendliest, most professional people you could hope to encounter. It's clear that they LOVE dogs. We're happy to give them a chance to love our Levi anytime he can't be with us. Thank you, Fort Fido!
Love Fort Fido! We have a senior black lab (Maverick) and a pup (Jester) who couldn’t be more different. Fort Fido allows them each to do their own thing during the day, but also share the same space at night like they do at home. It’s very comforting to know they’re in such good hands. The owners and staff are also very understanding and accommodating. We love and trust that when we travel we know our fur babies are in a safe and happy place which makes our time away from them a little less difficult. ❤️
My dogs Misty and Ralphie have been going to Fido since they were puppies! The staff is so friendly and take amazing care of my pups. This is the best facility for boarding/daycare in the area.
We have been bringing our eskipoo pups here for years! Fort Fido is the ONLY place I would trust with our dogs. The staff is always so kind and caring, they truly offer the best service for any boarding needs. I love that it is next door to their vet as well, in case anything happens they are right next door!
Love Ft. Fido, they are wonderful with our 2 yr old lab. I feel confident in his safety and he always comes home worn out from playing! He is so happy every time we take him in. Great staff, great hours, and great facility.
Great staff, great hours, competitive pricing. I always feel good leaving my dog at Fort Fido for daycare and for boarding. Staff is always there to answer any questions or concerns.
This daycare gives you access to their live cams via an app so you can monitor your dogs while they're there. On 10/14, while my dog was in their care, I opened their camera app to see what my dog was up to. What I saw made me sick to my stomach. A worker had entered the big dog room and the dogs as usual swarmed the worker. This worker went specifically for my dog, grabbed him by his collar and dragged him across the room a few feet before picking him up. He proceeded to set my dog against the back wall and kept him restrained in his place, not allowing him to move. I called them immediately and got the front desk who stated she was not in the big dog room and was not aware of what was going on. She passed the phone to the worker that dragged my dog. I asked if everything was ok to which the worker responded that my dog has been "humpy," and targeting a specific dog, saying it's a problem my dog has been having. He said the events transpired because my dog "refused to walk across the room," correcting him wasn't working, and therefore having to keep my dog tethered to him. I asked if there was an isolation room they could have put my dog in, to which the worker stated my dog had already been in there. If my dog was having behavioral problems enough to be met with such aggression from the worker and needing to be tethered/put in the isolation room, I wish I would have been notified. I was not aware that this was a problem my dog was having because I don't live with any other dogs. Either way, my dog could have been handled better and not dragged by his neck collar. I had a friend pick my dog up immediately and the facility did not charge me for the day. Their explanation at pick up was again that my dog was "humpy." They did not address the collar dragging. I feel horrible about the whole situation because they have some great workers and my dog enjoyed going there. However, I will not be taking my dog there anymore and would advise others against it. I should have done more research about the facility and if I had, I would have seen that this has been a problem dating back to 2018. I wish I would have seen the multiple negative reviews endorsing inappropriate dog handling that are hard to find between the positive reviews (check their Facebook page for reviews).
They know dogs by name on sight. My name is simply "Solo's Mom". They love the dogs, and the dogs love this place. Solo is transitioning from "OMG! You've taken me to the pound! How could you?!" To "My people! I've arrived!" They give me updates and feedback on my doggo's behavior and how he's eating every time I pick him up, so if he has a problem he needs to visit the vet for I'm likely to spot the problem much sooner than when I just left my dog at home while I was at work. Highly recommend this service.
Easily the best place I've ever boarded my dog. They took amazing care of my puppy and I've brought him back several times. Each time I bring him back he gets insanely excited when we pull up, and that's how I know he really loves it here. I sometimes think Baldur likes being here more than he likes being at home! As if that wasn't enough, they paid such close attention they noticed a small behavior change, and I was able to take him to the vet and get him taken care of. Bring your dog here. Trust me.
My Pia can't wait to see her friends. She comes home pooped from having so much fun. The staff there are very friendly and really care for your pups!
We love Our Best Friend for our dog Luna. She has been going there occasionally since she was young. Now at 10 yrs old, she still gets excited when we take her there. The staff are friendly to us and loving to Luna. As you can see she takes her visits very seriously 😊 . We know she is always safe and happy at Our Best Friend! …
I am changing my review from 5 stars to 3 He was here for 24 hours with feeding instructions and was only fed one meal out of the three I provided. My dog Bruce has gone to both locations and neither is bad; but we do really prefer this one. They walk the dogs instead of letting them out; which is better than the other location where they let them out but not on grass and my dog isn't going to poop on concrete unless he can't hold it in anymore. Other than that there isn't much difference between the two - most of the staff is really great and remember Bruce even if we haven't been in for over a month. I've seen some of the same people at both locations. The pricing is extremely reasonable! And it's just so nice to have a place to drop my dog where I know he'll have a good time. It's not just about dropping your dog off for the day; it's a big play date.
I'm sure the people here will take very good care of your dog, but I'll never know. I just moved here and was looking for a place to board my dog during the holiday. I made a reservation for my dog and was informed that somebody would call me in a few days to have him come in for an evaluation and to see how he behaves prior to boarding. Nobody ever called. I called 3 times over the period of 2 weeks and was told that somebody would get back to me. It never happened. I know boarding facilities fill up quick for the holidays and I didn't want to wait until the last minute. I finally found another boarding place and booked there. I called to let Doggie Daycare know to take me off of the list. Nobody was ever rude. I do see on their website that they are pretty busy. All well and good, but then just tell me. I'm good with that. As it is, they lost a future customer.
My pup goes for grooming. Amber always does a fantastic job, I love that she takes one animal at a time so that they aren't sitting in a cage for half the day.
We have been taking our dog to Our Best Friend for 7 years. I appreciate the personalized care and service. We are always impressed with the friendliness and care of the staff. They greet our dog by name. We get stories of what he did when we pick him up. We know he is well cared for.
This is the best place in Gig Harbor to leave your dogs for a few hours, a whole day, or overnight. The employees all love dogs and do their best to make your favorite companion happy and comfortable. Call for reservations, as they fill up fast. All dogs must be vaccinated and evaluated by the staff before they can stay there.
DANIELLE is THE super woman dog groomer! She is on time, and is super attentive to my dogs needs during the entire process. She has lots of extensive experience with all breeds of dogs. No job is too big / small for her- she always pays attention to detail during the grooming process which I very much appreciate and super friendly and gentle. My dog loves her very much and isn’t scared to get groomed, she actually gets excited to go out and see Danielle !! This particular groomer explains everything in quite detail and gives me an idea of how often to bring my dog to get groomed which I truly appreciate, because my dog can get very badly matted. DANIELLE is caring and kind and deserves a raise ! She is the heart of this place I just know it! We will be back over and over no matter what !! Thank U Danielle for an amazing experience!!!!
Someone at the dog park recommended this place to me. My 6-month-old corgi went in for a nail trim. She had never been to a groomer before, and I was advised to start taking her within 4-6 months. I informed the groomers about her nervousness, but they didn't seem to care. They took her back and began the nail trimming without attempting to calm her down with treats or soothing talk. She ended up pooping and peeing, and they returned her to me unfinished. The groomer made me feel guilty for not bringing her in sooner, which wasn't necessary. I was already feeling bad, and her unprofessional comment made things worse. I usually trim my dog's nails myself, but I needed professional help this time. Unfortunately, I had to pay full price despite the incomplete service. Their website claims they handle nervous dogs with care, but that wasn't my experience. I left feeling upset and uncomfortable
The front staff is incredibly friendly. The groomer I spoke with however seemed a bit "inconvenienced" with some of my questions. They also had me come in for no reason when they could have asked me a clarifying question. They scheduled me to have my dog come back and be checked for anal glands since the groomer didn't mention it was done, and I was told it didn't typically need to be done. They did end up checking to be safe which was nice. But having a young baby and having to load him and the dog up for a 10 minute trip each way and 2 second visit is inconvenient.
My dog always has loads of fun! We love that we can constantly watch her on the camera. But, the big guy with long hair has been really condescending in almost every interaction we have had.
I love Positive Approach! It's a great option if you need to board your reactive dogs or have dogs that just don't want to be in a day care setting. I've been taking my personal dogs here for years and they have always done a great job with them. I also have a 501(c)(3) dog rescue and board my rescue dogs here from time to time. The staff takes such great care of them and truly care about all the dogs that I've housed there. All of the staff is super friendly and Di, Dan and Dawn are amazing. I highly recommend the staff at Positive Approach!
We love and trust Danielle with our doodle. Our dog is a pain in the ass and for some reason she ain't scared to come to Positive Approach for grooming. Totally recommend them .
Great variety of different doggy treats. I came away with raw bones, elk antlers, and several hard chew toys for my two pitbulls that eat cow hooves like soft candy. The store is a little pricey but the selection includes only good quality healthy foods, treats and toys. I don't know anything about their daycare for dogs, grooming or training; I don't use those services, nevertheless, they seemed very well organized and professional. Great store.
Extremely pleased with all the love & care Positive Approach gave to my little Dog Sophia over many years of caring for her. The compassion when I lost my daughter in law to Covid was wonderful helping to take care of Sophia. I ended up being taken to CCU for an emergency and they accommodated my family taking care of her for over a week. Sophia loved going to Positive Approach. THANK YOU all for your kind words on your card to me. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Positive Approach!
My dogs see Kayleigh for grooming and have for several years. She's the best at my doodles groom and my dogs love her!
We love Positive Approach! Our pup Kulshan has been going there since he was a baby, and he starts whining with excitement as soon as we turn onto the street. During his entry test they had a trainer on hand and actually walked me back to the room to watch through a window, explaining all of the behaviors they were seeing and what they were looking for, which I really appreciated. The staff is super nice and knowledgeable, and I love having the retail section easily available so we can buy Kulshan a treat or two during pickup if we need to. I recommend Positive Approach to all of my Tacoma friends!
I’ve been bringing my magical dog Melon, who has two wet noses and dry paws, to Wet Nose is Dry Paws for almost two years now. They’ve been the most dependable and reliable people I’ve ever encountered. Melon means the world to me; she’s my best friend, pal, and buddy. I trust her with very few humans, and most of them work here at Wet Nose is Dry Paws. The owners genuinely care about the animals. They rent a foster organization called Wet Nose is Foster, which helps locate and place animals in the Pacific Northwest. It’s an excellent place. I couldn’t in good conscience take her anywhere else.
WNDP is excellent!! Everyone is so kind and they all make you feel like your dog is the best dog ever. They send adorable pics and report cards during boarding stays and have special treat options to help your dog stay engaged during their time at the facility. Our dog is always so excited to go - for daycare or boarding! Highly recommend!
Wet Noses Dry Paws is the best! Our dog Dexter loves it there. He has the best time all day, and comes home exhausted. The staff are amazing, friendly, and clearly love their pack. Their Instagram feed is a daily source of joy, and never fails to bring a smile to my face. We love our dog very very much, and trust them with him with no reservations.
Well I just started taking my dog here a few months ago and this is the second dog daycare that I've been to. I liked the first dog daycare but they only accepted small dogs so I had to Branch out and I went off of reviews to go to this place. Upon walking into the place I got Good vibes and the employees were very friendly. Most importantly, my pup stormy felt safe and her first day went very well. She loved it. I've been taking my dog here pretty much everyday and my dog absolutely knows when we're pulling up. She wants to get out of the car so bad to get inside! I highly recommend this place and I'm pretty sure my pup does too. I was reading a lot of negative reviews and you know doggie daycares are not for every dog, people just need to understand that. And when dogs are around other dogs even though they've been vaccinated they can still get sick, it's going to happen. It's normal. It's just like a little kid going to a daycare being around other kids they're going to get sick. Anyhow, I highly recommend this place. They have the downstairs for big dogs and the upstairs for puppies and little dogs. They have cameras where you can check in on your pup. They have tons of toys and things and activities they can just run around and do. It's pretty cool and large. Very happy I found this place.
We are super happy with Wet Noses Dry Paws. We have been happy customers for over a year when we adopted our pup from their adoption branch. Our dog means the world to us and I feel so relieved to have a safe place that he loves to stay at for daycare, boarding and grooming. Horray for WNDP!
WNDP is a wonderful find for our Westie! Friendly, patient, caring staff. Hears my concerns about treats that could cause allergies in my dog. He is returned to me happy and tuckered out. Comes back clean, not like a former daycare where he would be returned sprayed with doggie pee, presumably from a bigger dog. My pup is always eager to go into the playground here, a reassuring sign.
Our dog Willow has the best time at daycare, she always comes home so happy and tired. We also board her here when we go on trips, the staff is super great at sending updates.
I don’t typically write reviews, but I’m hoping if this can reach one person that may listen it will save your dog from trauma. My dog’s behavior changed significantly after boarding here. I was told there were issues with behavior, but I believe she was reacting to her poor treatment while being boarded. Over time I started to notice her behavior at home had changed, she was more anxious and less trusting of humans. Even me. I took her to the vet to discuss her behavior, and they told me that she’s likely been put in some extremely uncomfortable situations while being boarded resulting in the changes in her behavior. Potentially being handled aggressively, and overstimulated. Can I prove this happened? No. But before I started boarding her here my dog was the most trusting girl, with no fear of humans. Her last boarding/daycare facility never sent me any negative feedback. I think the staff here do not have proper training and do not understand dog behavior, in my case telling me my dog had behavioral issues when she was likely highly stressed and reacting to her environment. They also had dog toys on the floor, which is not safe with so many dogs as possessiveness is so common. We also noticed she had paw pad injuries, which I was never informed of if they even noticed. I don’t know what happened behind closed doors, but please do not bring your dogs here.
My mini Aussie, Marley, has been going here for over a year and both he and I absolutely love it. The team that works there are great people and so kind. Marley gets excited as soon as he gets out of the car and smiles when he's greeted. Compared to other daycares that I've been to, this place is by far the best. The dogs get treated with the care you expect, not like other places that I've had horrible experiences at. Not only is the daycare great, but dog park is so convenient in this rainy state. If the weather is bad outside, he can still get his exercise at WNDP. While we're on the subject of praise, the boarding here is the best I've ever seen. They have cage less boarding which is so good for my spoiled pup because he's used to sleeping on a bed and getting cuddles all night. I highly recommend this place. I won't ever go anywhere else. P.S. check out the pictures of the cute photo shoots they do!
A year ago, I would have laughed and rolled my eyes at someone if they told me that their dog was in daycare. When we got our pup, we realized quickly that she is way more energy than our older dogs can tolerate. I am now a total advocate of Doggie Daycare. I anticipated that our pup would come home well exercised and we would get a break to focus on work but it's also helped with socialization, manners, and separation anxiety. She's much better on our walks, around the house, and with other dogs. The staff there really adore dogs. I love peaking in on the live webcams to see how they are doing and seeing the Instagram posts and stories. Our pup loves going there... I can't get the leash off of her fast enough when we arrive. They also have cute events for holidays and birthdays. Last of all, I like that it's an all in one shop. I can schedule to have her groomed, give her a quick bath myself, board her, and buy her favorite treats all as part of her day. The weekend dog parks with beer has got to be a great perk as well (that I haven't tried yet).
We have been using Spoiled Rotten on and off for about 6 months and they have been amazing. Their staff are reliable, leave detailed notes, and are cool with texting me any updates. They handle our 2 rambunctious terriers with ease and had no problem adjusting their schedule when we got a new puppy. It is so great having someone we trust looking in on our creatures.
I have several special needs kitties, and my Spoiled Rotten Pet Sitters have given medicine and done a wonderful job of spoiling my 'kids' while I have been away. For many years I never traveled because I had no one I could trust to do this. I appreciate the communication they give while I'm away, and the notes I find when I get home. When you schedule, give them enough minutes to spend time with your pets, it is well worth it! Such a relief to know your pets are getting good care when you have to leave.
Spoiled Rotten Pet Sitters are the best! When my sister was hospitalized, they helped us care for her dogs, cats, sheep, horses, turkey, and even the fish in her pond. They were like family! Loving and trusted. We are so grateful to them and we highly recommend them!
Had a great experience with Spoiled Rotten. The pet sitters were very professional. I really enjoyed the running log they kept each time they visited. It was great to read when I got home from my trip. I liked that they offer visits from as short as 10 minutes and up. Would 100% recommend.
Love this company! Great people, extremely reliable and trustworthy service, and very reasonable prices. I am an overprotective cat mom and I trust these people with my furbaby and home. The meet-and-greet visits are great to get you acquainted with your sitter. We have used them for 4 years.
Spoiled Rotten is always responsive and professional, and the sitters truly care about pets. From guinea pigs, fish, lizards to cats & dogs ... the sitters have taken care to follow instructions. I receive texts with pictures when I'm gone and detailed notes when I return about the each pet. The dogs are giddy with excitement when they see the sitters (and are usually skittish around people). We are so grateful for Spoiled Rotten Pet Sitting!
I was very pleased when I left my dog in the care of spoiled rotten pet sitting. Someone was with my dog 3 times a day at my home when I was away. My dog was happy to be home and I received reports daily. Great service! I recommend this company for all of your pet sitting needs!!
This is an amazing pet sitting service. They are fantastic with my very senior cats. They manage any medications when needed and are fantastically reliable. Had a small problem with the alarm system, but we talked on the phone and quickly figured it out. I can't recommend them enough!!
Vaughnie & her team take such great care watching our pet. They cover it all & let us know that our cat is fed, taken care of & LOVED while we are gone. I highly recommend Spoiled Rotten Pet Sitting.
Spoiled Rotten Pet Sitting provides much more than pet sitting or dog walking, they provide peace of mind. I never have to worry about my pets while I am away. I always come home to animals that are happy and great notes about their adventures. Thank you SRPS for allowing me to leave my pets home where they are comfortable and know they will be spoiled rotten while I’m gone!!
Dropped our dog off for a week while we were out of the country. Happy to find a place that allows him freedom (not stuck in a kennel all day), homelike environment and socialize with other dogs. They said he had a good time. The staffs seem nice. For those who plans to take their dogs here. They do charge 3% + $2 processing fees if you want to pay with a credit card (this would have been good to know beforehand).
We've been bringing our labs here for both kenneling and play, and they absolutely LOVE it. They start whining with excitement as soon as we get close to the facility. A few years ago, our yellow lab escaped from our fenced yard. Since we live nearby and he loves this place so much, I called Mary, the owner, just in case he headed that way. She immediately had her staff driving around the neighborhood looking for him, informed every customer dropping off or picking up their dogs to keep an eye out, and even made laminated flyers for me. It was unexpected and truly amazing. We have both a senior lab and a puppy, and the team here is fantastic with both of them. Our senior dog has a bad knee and isn't very mobile, so they've moved him to the small dog area before and even allowed him inside their home. Justin and Teresa have such great judgment! He also has pancreatitis, which requires carefully mixing his food and waiting 15 minutes for the enzymes to take effect, along with managing a lot of pills and ensuring he gets no other dog food or treats. They handle all of this with such grace, and I appreciate them so much. If I could give 10 stars I would.
Great doggie day care. Very reasonable rates. The staff are really good at taking care of our dog. We mostly do half days but sometimes we leave her for overnights when we travel. We have a high energy mixed breed and she always comes home exhausted.
We bring our two labs here for daycare and boarding. I love that the dogs get to be outside and more importantly, come home nice and tired. 😊 Mary and her staff are so wonderful. Highly recommend! …
Always a great experience. When our golden stayed for 10 days overnight he ran out of food. The owner saw the bag & went to MudBay to get the same brand. It was so sweet that he took the time to go above & beyond!
Debbie helped me at a time I had to re home my precious girl Emma. One of the hardest things I ever did. She did what she said she would! She found her a perfect family and she checked on her to see she stayed happy. Debbie is in this for the love of dogs!!! She has an ability to reach dogs that have been terribly abused. God bless you Debbie❤️
We have used Bed, Bark, and Beyond for over 10 years, and our dogs have always been wonderfully cared for. What makes this place special is that dogs aren't kenneled but undergo a test to get along with other dogs and then are being allowed to play and move around freely within their respective small and big dog areas. We have a boxer that goes into the big dog area and loves going to BBB - it's like doggy camp where he can play with other dog friends. I am picky with our chihuahua because he gets anxious easily being away from me and is a real lap dog. I wouldn't have him kenneled all day. BBB always takes special care of him. We have tried housesitters, but it's such a hazzle to get the house ready, and each time we come back, there are surprises waiting (fellow little dog parents you know what I am talking about)... With BBB, you don't have any of those issues because the dogs are professionally cared for. So if you have a friendly dog that likes to play with other dogs or a small dog that's your "baby," this is the place to use for daycare and vacations!!! Mary and Justin are the best!!!
I have an anxiety-ridden dog or at least I thought I had because every time we go somewhere he's super nervous and needs CBD. He had no problem from day one coming here. They show such love for the dogs and it shows. He absolutely loves it here and is excited to come. He doesn't use his CBD at all here. I have noticed such a difference in our fur kid and love it hear myself. They make us humans feel loved and accepted too. We have found our second home for our buddy. Thank you Bed Bark! 💞
Always a good experience. My dog seems to have fun! He comes back tired and easy drop off/pickup. Thanks for taking care of him!
After a traumatic event at another Gig Harbor cage free pet boarding facility, we decided to board our new dog at Bed Bark & Beyond. We love them, and so does our pup. The staff are very attentive and you can tell they love dogs. Even sent us update photos of our pup while we were away. Highly recommend.
My dog Suki and I love Biscuits! She always has the best time while there and makes tons of friends! They get such cute pictures of her and I always love them! She’s always so excited to see the staff at drop off and so tired when she comes home! I Can rest easy leaving her there knowing she’s getting the best care and is having the best time!
Biscuits Daycare is the best!! Our 10year old lab Spartan has been going here for the past 5yrs.. He loves going and paws the door to get out of car just to go in and play!! They always have some fun activity or training going on.. and events!! The staff member are great also.. and if you have any problems.. they are always willing to fix it Good job and keep up the great work!! Always continue to improve!! 💕🥰🐾
10/10! Biscuits is my puppy’s second home. She is 10 lb so I worried about finding a daycare for little dogs, but they group dogs by size. There were no other dog daycares in the south sound who did this! They care for my dog like she is their own. She loves going to her community of other dogs and caregivers there! I love getting report of her antics when I come pick her up. I would never take my dog anywhere else! Love Biscuits and the entire staff!!!
I've been bringing Indi here for 2and a half years. He absolutely knows what day is "Bisquits' day and makes a huge fuss to get going. The staff have always been adoring and instructive to him. They have accommodated my shift in schedule. I would highly recommend 🐕 Indis Mom …
I have been bringing our dog to Biscuits Doggie Daycare for a year now, for overnight boarding and grooming. I only have positive things to say about the place. Our dog is always very happy to go back which is a great sign. Biscuits are always attentive, friendly and I had no issues so far.
Awesome staff and facilities. Excellent care for our little old man. He is a Westin/Terrier mix. Love how the daycare groups dogs by size and age. Very caring people, too. Highly recommend!
Biscuits takes such good care of my favorite doodle in both daycare and boarding! They pay attention to her moods, and how comfortable she is around new people and new dogs. Because it’s such a great business, turnover is low, and Korra has made many new human friends in addition to a few dog friends. Honestly I’m not quite sure what we would do without Biscuits! !
Biscuits is an amazing daycare and boarding facility. They do a fantastic job ensuring my pups are well cared for and well socialized. I have four rescue dogs, and the one that goes here is by far the most socialized and well-adjusted of my pack. She’s been going here since she was just 12 weeks old and went through all the puppy classes. Ava has turned out to be so good with all dogs. Having rescues can be difficult, and a few of the older ones just won't do well in a daycare environment, but I am grateful Ava was able to be exposed at a very young age and taught how to be a good dog. Thank you, Biscuits!!
Do NOT take your dog to Biscuits. 1. They were extremely negligent in the handling of an emergency situation with my dog and could care less about his well-being. He broke his canine tooth and lacerated his tongue, then bled in his kennel for 1 and a half hours before they discovered it. Even when they called to have him picked up, they said they "weren't concerned about blood loss, if we needed to finish out our work day." Luckily, we rushed him to the vet (because blood was dripping from his mouth and his paws were soaked in it). He had 100 ml of blood pumped from his throat and emergency surgery to remove the canine and the tooth next to it, along with 2 layers of stitches in his tongue. 2. They don't give tours because they don't want you to see that your dog spends a majority of the day in a kennel. The play space is TINY. Like the size of a residential driveway. And lined with occupied kennels! Promoting severely antagonistic behavior. I was ushered out of there pretty quickly. It should have been an easy exchange of factual information, to get to the bottom of what happened to my dog. This was not the case. So many red flags. It is not a safe place for your dog. 3. They don't provide details of your dog's day because there are none--they sit in kennels. I specifically requested the schedule and details of my dog's day leading up to him having to have emergency surgery, and they ignored it multiple times. The good thing out of it all = I found an in-home daycare that is run by a woman who loves and cares about dogs. If this wouldn't have happened, he would probably have continued to attend Biscuits, just to sit in kennels for entire weeks during boarding stays. It breaks my heart to think of all the dogs that will be. Tell your people not to go there.
I absolutely love biscuits! My doodle has been going there since puppy school and I trust their team and their expertise to ensure he has the best and safe time! I live for the planned activities and themes and I think the secret Santa has been my favorite activity. They do their best to get you in and out and I know my dog/son is in good hands ❤️
I’m so grateful to have Val in our life. She accommodated my dogs in last min decision for boarding. She is very organized and detailed oriented. She is very passionate about her work and she provides best quality care. She quickly response to my messages and she keeps me updated at all times. My dogs love her and always excited to see her. She also live so close by which is super convenient. I highly recommended her and I definitely going to take my dogs again for day care!
Val is amazing!!! She recently cared for my puppy that is super challenging and did a fantastic job with her. She also cared for my recently departed malamute many times. Val is responsive, caring and clean! Her home is well kept and she is great about social distancing and hand hygiene. I highly recommend her for both boarding and daycare.
Able services has been a gift to find! Valerie is a remarkable, kind, loving person who is gifted at taking care of dogs. She loves my dog like her own and even calls herself his godmother!! I even put her as his second emergency contact because I trust that she would take care of my dog like her own. She is incredibly flexible with dates and times and has been able to accommodate every request including holidays. She even picks my dog up from my home in the morning and drops him off. Her ability to transport has helped me tremendously for dog care. Her pricing is very reasonable. I feel incredibly lucky to have found Valerie and Able services. They also can provide yard work and cleaning which I’ve used in the past. Valerie is only able to perform excellence, and I know my dog is not only safe but he’s happy when he’s at her place playing with the other dogs.
I'd give 10 stars if I could. Val is absolutely incredible with my Australian Shepherd. I work 24 hour shifts and having him be with Val while I'm at work puts my mind completely at ease. She sends fun pictures and updates throughout the day so I get to see my little baby playing with all his friends :) Val is very easy to contact and quick to respond. She makes it so easy! I've been bringing my dog here for a few months now and wish I would have found out about her sooner. I'll be a returning customer for a very long time!
Val is such an amazing person and a great pet sitter. She also is very good at dog behavior and understanding how they react in situations. I think she is a dog whisper. I was concerned with my Boston wanting to attack other dogs. I took her to various trainers over the years and nothing worked. After going to Vals she now doesn’t always have the desire to attack other dogs. She has been watching my dogs for several years now. I can always rely on her short notice and she is always available for advise when my pet is sick or not behaving. Her house is set up very well for our fur babies and all of my pups love going to her place for stays. I am a first responder and can always count on her if something happens to me she will take care of my babies. There is no doubt in my mind she will take good care of your fur babies. Plus, she is great to work with in general. She has a good heart and is extremely compassionate and genuinely cares for both you and your fur baby. I am excited for all of you who are reading this review and going to have her care for your babies. She will do a great job.
I rarely write reviews online but I cannot say enough good things about Val and her kennel. Val does an amazing job creating a fun space for dogs to exercise and feel at home. I always feel confident leaving my pup, and he always comes home clean and tired! If you are looking for a dependable, professional, and local kennel service, Val and Able Pet Services is simply the best around.
I've been working with Val and Able Pet services for a few years. I know my dogs and cats are in good hands whether they're staying at our house while we're out of town or our young dog is over at doggy daycare playing. I would, and do, highly recommend Val and her services.
Val is very trustworthy and communicates amazing. My dogs are well taken care of, keep safe, and have the best time hanging with their furry friends. They spend a lot of time with Val, and are always ready to go back!
Able Pet Services honestly deserves 10 stars! I had a difficult time finding a daycare the met my dogs needs so I was pleased to have a referral from a gentleman i met at the dog park. Most daycares are overly crowded or not large enough to accommodate my energetic lab. Able Pet Services provides an environment in which my dog can burn off her energy, play with other dogs, be outside in the sunshine (weather permitting) and receive personalized attention. I receive photos and videos throughout the day detailing my dog's day. The owner Valerie is very flexible and laid back and you can tell she loves what she does. Able Pet Services will be my go-to for daycare and boarding moving forward. Thank you Valerie!
Boarding our dogs at Val’s makes everything so easy!! Our pups love going to see her!! She does such an amazing job of making them feel at home and safe when we are away. If we ever have a concern, she is easy to contact. Best dog boarding in Washington!!
