Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

I never met Joi because due to her work, she arrived after I left and was gone before I returned home. This wasn't a problem at all. She was very self-sufficient and seemed to find all that she needed in my house. The house looked exactly like I left it and my cat seemed very content when I returned. Apparently they had a nightly routine of Luna getting brushed. Joi is a very experienced sitter and it shows.
We are thoroughly pleased with and impressed by Daniel's kind, generous, and careful care of our cat and our house. He is a committed and experienced sitter who completely understands his role and responsibilities and also how to gently win the confidence and affection of a pet. He is an excellent communicator, and he kept us regularly up to date on our cat's well being--sending us texts and photos at least once/week as we requested. Our cat who is a little afraid of new people, grew fond of him, and we have returned to a very calm, contented cat. We highly recommend Daniel, and we ourselves would be thrilled to engage him again when the need arises.
Stefany helped me out big time by stepping in when I asked. She's a local sitter and I wasnt' having any responses so I contacted her and she fit me into her schedule even during the holidays and right after another sit across the country. She took great care of my two cats and home and I very much appreciate it!
Amanda is truly our trusted sitter "find"! She comes back regularly, so much so that our kitties think she is their secondary owner! Always reliable, clean, responsible and most of all loves our cats as much as we do! Good communicator, self reliant - all in all a perfect "10"!
We literally cannot say enough positive things about Susan and Miranda! They are the best! From start to finish, they did an amazing job communicating with us, giving our 3 (somewhat needy) cats extremely high quality care and tons of attention, and keeping our house clean and plants watered. They took adorable pictures of the cats and sent them to us several times a day, played with them and gave them so much love and affection, and when we got home the house was even cleaner than when we left. We even asked them for some tips on how they were caring for the cats because our cats seemed happier and more relaxed than ever when we returned home to them! This was by far our best cat/house sitter experience to date. We hope Susan and Miranda are available again in the future to sit for us and would invite them back without hesitation.
Angel was absolutely the best house sitter we could have hoped for. She is a very warm, open and diligent person and our two cats adored her. She looked after our house and garden with really conscientious care. She won over our very timid cat, Billie, and sent regular photos of both cats looking supremely content which gave us perfect peace of mind. The house was completely spotless on our return and the garden was fabulous... no mean feat since there was a heatwave while we were away and she kept everything watered and in great condition. We would have Angel back at the drop of a hat and cannot recommend her highly enough.
Laura came across the country to sit for us. She arrived a day early and from the moment my pets met her our Lokie was smitten. We have one shy cat Luna and she was out and about on the first night. Laura kept us updated and shared her Adventures as well. We do live in a small hideaway of a town so seeing that she was able to enjoy herself was nice. We returned to a clean home, laundry done also, and very content pets. Lokie was sad for a few days as he missed his friend. We would recommend Laura as a sitter to anyone and would have her back again. 5 plus stars. ⭐
We can not exaggerate the care and love Juliet and Laurent gave to our cat, Piero, during his the last few weeks of life. While we left for our trip thinking he merely had a bladder infection, his symptoms turned for the worse a weeks into their sit and later revealed he had cancer. No one would wish their sitter to need to hospice their cat but Juliet and Laurent showed such compassion for Piero and volunteered to be with him when we made the decision to put him down. It was an emotional time for all of us and we will be forever grateful to our two caring cat and house sitters. We have had many fantastic housesitters through zeewoi but Juliet and Laurent top the list. Their professionalism, constant communication and compassion were exceptional. Should you have the opportunity to have them in your home, do not hesitate to book them, you will have no regrets. We do, however, regret that they had such a short time with Piero and had to experience such a painful event.
Karen was an extraordinary house and pet sitter who I hope to invite back again soon. You would be extremely fortunate to have her take care of your pets and home. From the very beginning she radiated calmness, knowledge, caring and curiosity. We had a great initial conversation where Karen answered questions I didn't even know I should be asking, and asked excellent questions so she could be prepared and understand the special needs for both my cat and home. She flew into my city the day before I was leaving and stayed at a nearby hostel so that we could meet in person and do a walk through of my home. They say pets have an intuitive nature about people, and I knew Karen would be a winner when my normally very shy/nervous cat came right up and let her pet him. Karen sent wonderful pictures and updates while I was gone and asked questions when she wasn't sure about something. When I returned home everything was spotless and my cat was content. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better house sitter experience. Thank you Karen!
My husband and I reached out to Toby & Chloe after reading their profile and impressive reviews only a week before our trip, since our scheduled sitter had to cancel at the last moment. They were very friendly and quick to respond to chat from the very beginning, and ended up exceeding our expectations during their two week stay. It was evident they had thoroughly read our Welcome Guide beforehand, as they arrived knowledgeable and prepared to care for our home and pets. They were very willing and happy to take the necessary time with us to walk through the house and meet our cats, as we got them acclimated with our daily routines and answered any questions. Shortly after we left, our city had a heat wave come through, and after immediately notifying us, Toby went beyond the call of duty and inspected our struggling AC unit to pinpoint the issue. As far as cat care is concerned, we have two seniors (who have more sensitive tummies) that can get irritated after a fur ball or swallowing anything out of the ordinary. When this occurred, Toby & Chloe stepped in and took wonderful care of our cat duo; softening their food and even cradling while hand-feeding them for extra comfort. We truly could not have asked for more affectionate and responsible sitters. We returned to a spotlessly clean home, happy cats, and well maintained plants and pool. (They even cleaned our dusty Kitchen pendant lighting, which requires a steady hand and is definitely a time-commitment …We felt like professional housecleaners had been there!) On our way back, Toby & Chloe stayed in communication with us to monitor our arrival time, allowing them to care for our cats until just before we got home. Overall, they are very reliable and trustworthy sitters whose genuine goal is to provide a top-quality sit, while maintaining your household and seamlessly transitioning to your pets daily schedule.
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Zeewoi.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $10/week per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Zeewoi.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. This place is amazing! I brought my dog Chuck after a bad experience at another daycare. They were very welcoming and answered all my questions. Someone is always happy to greet Chuck when he comes in, I get updates and pictures and I no longer worry about my dog during the day. He is worn out but a very happy puppy at the end of the day. They really care about the dogs and ensure they are safe and happy. Highly recommend!
If you are looking for your fur baby to be taken care of while you vacation, look no further! My sweet fur baby stayed with them while I went on vacation and when I picked her up she didn’t want to leave! She played the whole time. She was well taken care of. Also if you work long hours and want to drop them off for some play time while you work this place is also a good fit. She also has done some cute holiday artwork for me to display proudly. She has picked up some good habits from them. I will continue to take my baby there and look forward to enrolling her in some much needed basic training.
My fur baby attends daycare and participates with their training program, and we absolutely love it. The staff are beyond friendly and helpful. They greet us like we are part of the family. I’ve been looking for a place that caters to loving our pets like we do for a very long time. I would definitely recommend Riverside Bark Park as a safe , and loving place for your pet.
This place is amazing! We’ve boarded 2 different dogs there at least so different times. The most recent was in July. Our girl had such a great time and, no kidding, slept for 2 days straight from doing nothing but playing for 10 days lol. They were very sweet and sent emails to check in and let me know how she was doing. They also told me she was very sweet and to bring her back anytime! The last picture is when we got her home. 🧡
We have taken our puppy here for training sessions with Ashley. Can’t recommend her enough! She is great with the puppy and is also helping my 8 year old daughter learn how to do basic commands and agility exercises. We definitely look forward to our sessions.
Lengthy review, you've been warned :) I am a cat person, but my daughter convinced me to get a small dog for companionship. I did, and she is amazing. However, she is a super high energy little thing and I have to work full time (to support her in the manner to which she's become accustomed). When I tried leaving her home alone, she was destructive and harrassed my cat. I tried a doggie daycare and she still came home super high energy and unmanageable in the evening. Then a friend at work suggested River City Bark and Park. She had a medium sized puppy and similar issues. I gave it a try and I now don't know what I'd do without them! My cat also is very happy with the results! I've used all their services. The daycare is amazing. My dog comes home relaxed and ready to snuggle in the evening. She spends the day interacting with the staff and other similar size and temperament dogs. She loves going to "school" and when I pick her up in the evening I am frequently blessed with little stories about what she did that day in daycare and who she played with. I honestly believe the staff care about my dog and that she considers them family. I've also used their grooming services - when they were a full grooming salon and even when they had to cut back to baths and nail trims. Since there is a groomer right down the "strip mall" I can still arrange for her to get a full grooming during daycare hours. I've used their training services - both as a group and individual. When we did group puppy training, the trainers shed a lot of insight into specifically how to train my dog. For instance, she is not food motivated as much as she is praise motivated. This is important to know going into further training practice. Also, I used their individual training sessions to help with reinforcing some slips in her training. And I've used their boarding several times in the past for a night or two and recently for a whole week. I can honestly say I didn't worry a single moment about the safety, happiness, or comfort of my dog while I was out of town. She always come homes happy and healthy (and ready for quiet snuggles).
Please see the photos of my Precious boy after a day at this place .. I trusted this place with my most precious possessions. This has got to be the most uncaring bunch of folks I have ever encountered. My beloved Yorki Bentley almost died in their care. They for some reason thought it was ok to put a 12 lb Yorki unsupervised in with a pit bull. My sweet Bentley was attacked by this pit bull and left in a corner. When he was found he was in shock . They had no clue how long he had been laying there severely injured. This pitbull crushed the left side of my dogs face, Crushed his eye socket and not to mention all the puncture wounds on the face and neck. We have to syringe water and food down his throat for him to be able to eat. The Puncture wounds went all the way thru his neck into his throat. How he survived I still don’t know .. They sent him to the local animal hospital by an employee. Owner never showed up . I got a little short text message from owner saying sorry .Never asked if my dog was alive or the extent of the injury. I followed up the next day to get the info on the dog that attacked my Bentley. (Which they would not give me.). At that time we spoke to the owners husband where he admitted the fault of the business but I was refused to see the video of the attack and pretty much dismissed us like we were being a problem. The only time in the past month this company has even checked on my dog was because I forced the question from them .. They called my vets office the day after the incident and tried to retrieve Bentleys records without my knowledge. The vets office called me while they were on the other line. (sneaky) When I told River City that if they wanted to know something they needed to contact me . They asked how he was . That is the only time they have asked about his condition. It’s been almost a month since the incident . Bentley is still recovering and struggling to eat. He will never be the same.. There was no Bones in his face that the vet could even put a metal plate to reconstruct his face. Want to know the real kicker they kept my remaining money for my daycare package . Please be aware of this place .. Sometimes what looks great from the outside isn’t always the real picture . Since the attack I have met others that have had their beloved pets attacked at this daycare. Its safe to say supervision is lacking.
New to the area with an adopted pup, I was struggling to get him socialized, both with people and dogs. He's appx 6 months now, 80lbs and still growing- so many people wouldn't even approach him. Not RCBP. Made an appointment to look at the facility and meet the staff and my pup (Riot) made it very clear he approved! He now goes regularly and gets Super Excited if you say "doggie daycare". He had his first training with Ashley last week and she was so impressive, we scheduled a few more. My pup is being well taken care of, learning and happy as he can be. What more could a dog mom ask for? Highly Recommend.
This business smells like a barn with farm animals and they don't give the dogs enough water. So they come home smelling terrible and unusually thirsty that does not happen at other establishments. I stopped taking my dog there especially because they had rescues on the premises and a litter of puppies that were in their own feces in the checkin area. All of this is very dangerous for your dog. They also don't do tours and don't always have someone in the play area. No tours should be a red flag for anyone.
Our 7 month old Rottweiler puppy attends daycare here regularly and he loves it! The staff is excellent and very trustworthy with your fur baby. We’ve also taken a basic obedience class here and it has helped so much! I highly recommend RCBP because they treat you and your fur baby like family here.
Our older golden lab, Chance stayed here from time to time and he seemed very happy about the stay. Some places he had been boarded, all he wanted to do was leave. The doctors and staff at the clinic are great, top notch and care about your pets. We recently had to have my buddy put down because of major health issues, diabeties did not help and he was pretty much blind. One of the doctors, which we feel like family, was having a hard time talking to my wife about putting him down. Doc did a great job with him. Thank you all for everything. I will miss my buddy! On 7/24/2021 we dropped off our new addition to the family for boarding. A 6 month old, behemoth of a golden retriever, weighing in at 63.5 lbs. and not a bit of fat on him. Thanks everyone for taking care of General Lincoln or "Link" It was the first time away, and his first sleepover with the staff. I watched him Saturday and night and Sunday. I called and left a message that I thought he had been destroying his sleep mat. In a few minutes on call, called back and confirmed! I told her to just throw a folded blanket down, he would be fine. Sure enough later I checked, he was on a thick folded blanket and was asleep. They take our guy out early in the morning, mid afternoon, and are back in in the evening. Late pickup is 7-8 and by what I've seen after this is when at least some of the dogs are turned out. We were suppose to pick link up between 7-8 p.m. around 2, they text and said they would be in for awhile let them know if we wanted to pick him up early. I was about 30 minutes out going home and was going to go back 20 minutes one way to pick Link up! Thanks for the text, thanks for caring and the great service. Oh and for Links' first visit, he seemed happy! They said he did great, I asked so I would know how our training was going, if he had any mishaps inside, not a one she said. A special shout out to Lisa and her daughter team!
Marlee is a regular boarding visitor there. At least 4 or 5 times yearly. Her usual stay is between 3 and 5 days. The staff are excellent and truly treat her great. We are able to relax knowing she is well taken care of during her stays.
Beau loved his first stay here! Thank you to everyone who took care of our working dog in training (SAR k9) while we took a much needed vacation to visit family in Minnesota! We love y’all! ❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾❤️❤️
We have lived here Elizabeth City since 94 and I did not know that Paradise pet resort even existed. Using their service was a great experience! All of the staff from the check-in to the ladies that took care of our dog while we were gone for 6 days to the checkout was exceptional! We will be going back to take our Roxie for her check-ups !Thank you all for your kindness and care.
Incredibly deceptive. The pictures and descriptions don't match what you actually get. It seems much has changed since the other reviews are a few years old. Check in and out are difficult and confusing. When we checked in we received friendly service, the facility seemed clean and safe. When I requested to take my dog to the kennel and see his accommodations, the run around began. I was told if I wanted to do this I would have to wait. After a few minutes I was allowed to go in. It smelled like fresh cleaning solutions and urine. I noticed several dogs with urine and feces in their kennels. I was told that were not used to being indoors. I expressed a concern about the this leaking into my dogs kennel. I was assured it would not be a problem. When we picked up our dog the smell of urine was over whelming. I asked to accompany the staff to retrieve the dog, I was told no there were dogs loose in the back and only employees were allowed in. This seems very odd. The dog came out shaking, this a family pet who lives inside and is generally very low key. I took him outside he immediately urinated and pooped. I offered him water, he drank a 1/2 gallon. I when in to retrieve his food, bowls, and bed. They were all soaked and dripping wet, when asked I was told it was water. The liquid was yellow and smelled like urine. By this point I was done and was ready to get the dog home. I have trained, competed, traveled, and boarded dogs allover the country. This is the nastiness I have ever seen items and the most upset I have ever seen this dog. I truly believe these animals were left in kennels with any attention, water, or chance to relieve themselves. I will not return and would suggest you go elsewhere if you value your pets care.
We have used this facility several times and always had acceptable care of our pups. There have been many staff changes and we did not recognize any of the kennel workers this last boarding. When we left the pups they were all healthy. We liked this facility because it was a vet on site and if there was a problem it would be addressed. Within seconds of picking up our girls we noticed there was something wrong with one. I tried to help her but was unable on my own. There were 3 kennel workers there but none offered to help me fix the problem that occurred on their watch. My poor pup was left in horrible shape and nothing had been done for obvious days. Whats the point of Vet centered boarding? I tried calling to get a reason for the substandard treatment but nobody returned my call. I should have demanded to speak with a supervisor at the time we picked up but I was in total shock that they would leave a pup in this condition. We will be looking for new boarding options.
This is absolutely the best place to bring your pet hands down. Major plus having a vet directly next door!! I've brought my 12 year old cattle dog here for 2 extended stays. The staff is incredible, the establishment is clean, and the experience could not be better. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone in need of their service!!
Can't begin to explain how happy I was and my 2 large dogs were staying here!! Love the staff and the grounds are beautiful and very pet friendly!! The cameras in the room so we could watch our furbabies are a huge plus!! Will be using them again for any boarding needs!!
I’ll never take my dog here again website is a complete lie!! Looks nothing like the pics of the rooms animals are left alone 99% of the time bathroom time maybe 5 minutes I feel terrible can’t get anyone to call me I paid for the most expensive
Drove up from Florida for a wedding. Our family was staying in a house in Edenton that did not allow dogs so we chose this location to board our 1 year old Labrador Retriever for one night. I was already hesitant to leave him there even only for one night and was a nervous wreck the whole night. We had never left him before. There was a little hiccup at check in where I was told he needed a fecal exam and rabies shot when his records said he had them in July. It was quickly resolved after I pointed out the dates. The cameras In his luxury suite were a life saver as I was able to make sure he was okay throughout the day and night. They supplied two water bowls and a blanket and bed which was so nice! There was a TV but I don’t think they do anything with that unless it’s requested. I do have a pretty significant complaint though which I feel really requires that the owner of this facility consider making some changes. Our 1 year old lab may have kidney issues. He has elevated creatinine which we are watching closely and running other tests for. I knew he would go from 8pm-8am without being able to go outside to relieve himself as there is no one present in the building during those times. I knew we really didn’t have a choice as this is how kennels normally run I assume. He usually goes out around 10-11pm and again around 6-7am. Our schedule always changes but most of the time he doesn’t go more than 8 hours without going outside. He doesn’t ever go 12 hours and he will not pee in an unfamiliar location because he is trained to only go outside. Anyway, I was pretty upset when I came to pick him up the next morning at 9:45am and was told by the girl working that she hadn’t had time yet to take him out. That’s nearly 14 hours that he didn’t get to go outside and held his bladder and bowels for! Poor thing peed for a long time and had a bowel movement right away when we let him walk on the grass outside the building. I can’t imagine this was good for his kidneys If he truly has chronic issues and I am just baffled that the girl working didn’t take the dogs out yet. It just makes me so mad that this is how he was treated. I appreciate the good things about this location and would probably leave him there again but with more specific instructions about his care. Thankfully it was only one night.
Claudia is amazing! She has been so kind to work around my unpredictable work schedule for daycare and boarding when I'm out of town for work. My 1 year old corgi, Daisy, absolutely LOVES going to Claudia's and playing on her backyard toys! I always get photos and videos on how Daisy's days are going, which I love because then I know Daisy is happy and well cared for the entire time (see attached photos). Claudia has also been very helpful in improving Daisy's training and very open to implementing the techniques I use at home. Claudia is a blessing to Daisy and I! I would 100% recommend her to anyone else in the area looking for a place to board, or drop their doggies off for daycare.
Claudia is incredible! We couldn't be happier with our dog-sitting experience with her! From the moment she met our dog Murphy, it was clear she has a natural gift with pups. She immediately connected with him, which made him feel at ease right away. Every day of the three months she cared for Murphy, he came home exhausted from a full day of play, socializing, and receiving lots of love and attention. The obstacle course play/training and fetch were particular highlights. He really had a maxed out fun day every day there. Claudia was also incredibly accommodating with a few schedule adjustments that popped up, which made things so much easier for us. Murphy was in great hands—and it showed! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Claudia. We travel a lot and she is by far the best dog care pro we’ve come across. Thank you, Claudia, for giving us peace of mind and making sure Murphy had the best time while we were in Norfolk!
Claudia is a true dog lover, kind person, and all around caring guardian of fur babies. I do not worry at all when I leave my dogs with her days or sometimes weeks. She sends me photos and frequent updates on how they’re doing. My dogs are lap dogs and love the attention from her kids. They walk right inside when I drop them off, like they’re happy to be there. Highly recommend her as a boarding option!
Claudia is amazing with our pup! When we drop her off, she doesn’t look back because she is so excited to spend time there!! Our dog has dietary restrictions and Claudia is ALWAYS able to accommodate!!! I get lots of updates but honestly I don’t have anything to worry about, my dog is in great hands!! I am so happy I came across her daycare! I will only use her for boarding our pup!
I cant recommend Claudia enough! She is incredibly flexible and you can tell that she really loves what she does. She communicates wonderfully and sends pictures while your pet is with her and I can tell that my pup had a great time during both stays. It’s a gift when you don’t have to worry about your pet while you’re gone and that is absolutely the case with Claudia!
My dog loves going to Claudia’s, he wags his tail and pulls to get in her house every time! Claudia takes care of him as if he was one of her own. It’s comforting to know that my dog is in a loving home getting lots of attention, instead of sitting in a crate all day like most boarding places. Claudia also sends pictures and updates while your dog is there to put your mind even more at ease. I would never want to board my dog anywhere else!
We always take our dogs with us but feel so fortunate to have found Claudia to care for our 2 Dobermans and golden retriever. She’s beyond amazing - very experienced, conscientious, always keeping us up to date on how the dogs are doing. They just love her - get great exercise, playtime and are well taken care of. We would highly recommend her! She deserves 10++stars!!
Claudia was amazing with my two small dogs. They enjoyed being at her house. Claudia was very easy to work with for over 2 1/2 years that we lived in the area. I always knew my dogs were being well taken care of with her.
Claudia is amazing & our pups love staying with her! She has a fenced-in backyard and always sends us photos of our dogs having a great time - she makes an effort to ensure they still get the love and attention away from home. Claudia is always very reliable & makes us feel at ease when we go out of town and can’t take our pups with us. I wouldn’t know what to do without her!
Claudia loves, cares and engages with every dog as if they were her own. Our pup quivers with excitement when he sees Claudia’s house! We have nothing but praise for her skills and not a worry when he is with her.
I couldn’t ask for a better place to take care of my girl for me. She attends day care regularly, she’s been boarded a couple times, and she’s been groomed. She absolutely loves it up there. They take such good care of her. I can’t thank the employees enough for all their hard work and dedication for our babies.
Wonderful staff and my Dog loves going. I’ve boarded and had her attend daycare, to which she comes home happy and ready for some good naps after an engaging day. The pricing is perfectly suited for the area to deliver the quality and experience you’d want for your pet. Good service with small town heart. Nice work!
Excellent care for your fur babies by loving staff. My Pitti Apollo has been going to daycare and boarding since they opened and it has been the best experience for both of us! Thank you for all you do for the fur babies and the community at large ❤️
The people here love all the animals that come to them. I don’t trust just anyone with my babies. They are fair priced and do the absolute best for all animals and families that they serve. They are always so creative with the daycare. An example is they do back to school pictures, birthday pictures, first day of school pictures. They will treat you like family. If any post a negative review they have a personal vendetta and I suggest you check them out yourself.
My dog loves this place. They take great care of your animal. I would recommended this to anyone who has a shy dog like mines. Biggie is shy and suffers from separation anxiety but he goes their and interacts with the other small dogs. He loves the staff as well.
Elsa, our 7 month old German Shepherd pup, has been in Doggy Daycare several times and she loves it there! We took her there for socialization more than anything and the ladies took her right in and she has improved so much! She would bark at people and other dogs and would not stop. Since coming here she has gotten so much better. We live in the country with no neighbors and she just needed to be around new people and dogs so that she wouldn’t bark so much and this has helped her so much! I can’t say enough good things about Bed and Biscuits it’s very clean and the staff is so friendly. We had Elsa’s nails clipped also and the lady who did it said that Elsa just laid across her lap and had no problems with it. When we tried to trim her nails she just was not having it! I’m so glad we found a wonderful place here!
This place is the best! I was in town for only two weeks but Melinda and everyone at Bed and Biscuits treated my pup like a regular! They took great care of my Whit! Some days I think Whit would have rather stayed at daycare than come home with me! The staff always had a smile on their face and if we are ever back in the area, we will be taking our dogs to Bed and Biscuits! Customers for life!
I’m from Virginia and had visited Every groomer in my area to give my fur baby a haircut and nails clipped. However everyone was scared of her even tho she is a loving shepherd mix. When I visited bed and biscuits not only did she get a haircut but even got her nails painted. This was after she played with the staff and the other dogs there. She didn’t even wanna leave. It’s well worth the drive for my baby girl to be pampered and treated like family.
Extremely friendly staff! Our dog was nervous since it was his first time and scent marked on the rug outside and on a wall inside, but they just laughed and cleaned it up, they weren't upset. Our dog had fun and even made a little paw print painting while he was there! Would highly recommend!
If I could give a 10 Star I would!! I take my dog Millie to daycare here 2-3 times most weeks and have been since she was old enough to go. She loves Bed and Biscuits and the staff and is excited to go every time. I know that she is safe, well taken care of and loved while she is there. She also gets groomed there and smells so good every time I pick her up. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating. So thankful we have such a great business here in Ahoskie.
If you’re in the Virginia Beach area I highly recommend them for watching your dog they will cater to your dogs needs for an individual experience for each dog very good highly recommend will bring dog back if we go out of town.
Absolutely love Cameron and Hayes. They are so fantastic with our two dogs. They have a nice yard for them to hang out in and play. They definitely treat our pups as their own whenever they are there. We’ve used them a few times and will continue to when we need! Highly recommend.
We used The Epps Dog Nook for our boy Kylo when we went out of town for a couple days. He had a great time. They were extremely communicative and responsive. We really appreciated the home style atmosphere and acclimation process and care they use with new members. Thank you both so very much, it was great to know that Kylo was in great hands while we were away!
We had a last minute trip come up and the Epps took our family dogs in without hesitation. Very friendly people and great with animals! Will definitely be bring my dogs back to them!
Recommended for anyone in the deep creek/chesapeake area. Cameron and Hayes are very nice and respectful people, will definitely bring my dog back to them when I go out of town again.
Absolutely wonderful! Our dog Harper loved going here! They took her in as if she was their family pet, she was so well loved and taken care of! She was always so happy and excited to be dropped off! Thank you for taking such good care of Harper!
I highly recommend! awesome people. Very open and communicative. Definitely will leave my pup there again when i make my way out of town.
I went out of town on a detachment for 2 weeks and left my basset hound with the Epps family. And let me tell you mine and finneus’ experience has honestly been the best. They took the very best care of him and before leaving I asked if I could be updated and sent pictures of him and they did! If you’re ever in need of a pet sitter for your fur baby in the deep creek/ Chesapeake area definitely use them!
The Epps Dog Nook took great care of my dog Louis! He didn’t want to come home he loved them so much. If anyone is looking for a dog boarding service in the deep Creek or Chesapeake area, look no further. This is the best hands-down. Incredible loving family owned business.
Great service! The Dog Nook took responsibility in taking care of Arlo when he needed it. 100% recommend ty!
This was my first experience dropping my dog off to ruff house (va beach) for Labor Day weekend because we were going out of town. I picked this facility based on the great reviews. I didn’t tour the facility with my husband b/c front desk staff stated there was a certain time that we would have to come in and we had to work. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary upon dropping her off. We did elect for play time for one day which was an upcharge. We never received pictures or updates regarding my dog. However we called Saturday and was told everything was going well and that she’s wagging her tail. She seemed happy she just wasn’t eating a lot. On Sunday we picked her up and she was panting like she was hot or didn’t have water. She looked a sweaty mess. I thought let me take her home in bathe her she might be overly tired. She slept all day Monday like she was depressed. As an update I called to speak to the manager Tuesday. The manager never came to the phone only relaying messages to the front desk staff that Asa wasn’t outside Sunday and they’re not sure why she was sweaty and panting. She seemed fine on Saturday when she was playing. Also I asked about room temp in the kennel and they stated it was 72 degrees which is a little in the warm side in my opinion. I will not be bringing my dog back. Unprofessional that the manager didn’t want to listen to my concerns.
Thank you all so much for taking care of our boy Milo. I was nervous at first leaving him for the first time since we've had him but with the staff taking pics of him everyday (I made sure to check lol) gave me and my family a warm fuzzy that he was being taking care of. I like the little report afterwards thats lets me know how he did as well. I look forward to bring him back for a future doggy daycare session to get accustomed to other pups. Thanks again!
The atmosphere was incredibly friendly and inviting. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted Sadie with genuine warmth and care, making her feel right at home. Their attention to detail and personalized approach made the entire experience exceptional. It was clear they prioritize customer satisfaction and go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels comfortable and valued.
We boarded our two guinea pigs and we were so pleased with how clean their cage was when we picked them up. Their hay bag was full and there was food in their bowl so we know they were well taken care of. I also appreciated them being in a quiet area. We will definitely be back! We have boarded at another kennel previously and the difference is night and day. We highly recommend The Ruff House for your small animal boarding needs.
I was really worried about taking my dog to boarding/daycare for the first time but ruff house was nothing but helpful, accommodating, and kind. They were very quick & helpful when responding to all of my questions throughout the “onboarding process” & during my dogs stay! He tested into daycare and I’m so excited to see him grow and be properly socialized with other dogs in a controlled, safe environment. When I first received pictures of my dog playing with others, my heart melted. Thank you ruff house!!
It was my first time ever leaving my fur babies at a doggy boarding facility. The atmosphere is very clean. The staff is very nice and relaxed. They treated my babies really well and made sure that I knew they did well while I was gone. They’re very alert when it comes to their boarders and I love that. Will definitely be using them again in the future.
We had a wonderful grooming experience with Judy! Our pup came home happy, healthy and looking so handsome! We would highly recommend the Ruff House for their grooming services!!
Boarded our pup for the first time and we are so happy we picked Ruff House. The pictures taken during his stay shows how much he enjoyed it. They took such good care of him! We will definitely use them again for both boarding and grooming services.
I really wanted to love this place. I’ve taken my dog here twice. The first experience seemed great.. he was super tuckered out, and they took a ton of photos. Based on that, I decided to bring him back. This time, things were different. I didn’t really get much with the photos which I'm not too worried about, but he came home with an unusual amount of energy and INSANELY thirsty. He sprinted to his water bowl and i had to refill it twice.. which confused me. He’s not the kind of dog that requires constant stimulation to relax, so it felt odd. I had also requested a full groom for him, but when I picked him up, he didn’t smell fresh, which made me question if he even received a bath. At first, I let it go, but only a week later and he's showing signs that his anal glands are full. Now I’m wondering if I was charged for services that weren’t provided. To make matters worse, he has kennel cough. I don’t understand how dogs get sick in facilities that require updated vaccines. He’s never been sick before, and I feel awful for him.
I am one of those people who treat their fur babies like children. Therefore, I can unequivocally state that The Ruff House is a top-notch facility for my baby to stay while I am working and traveling. Noah, my 10-month-old lab/hound mix, is not the friendliest around other male dogs, but loves the females immensely. I was worried that he would not have a safe place to stay during the day and overnight, but The Ruff House staff were knowledgeable about his needs and the safety of him and the other dogs. He was selected for day boarding and supervised playtime with the lady pups; he couldn’t be happier. The staff are always welcoming and allowed my husband to take an impromptu tour of the facility which means they have nothing to hide! It was clean and all of the dogs were happy and safe. What more could I ask of a dog sitting business? Thank you, Ruff House staff! You have made our life much easier.
So much fun. Wasn’t sure about it before going but had a good time and I think my dog did too
I was their strictly as an observer. My daughter is training my "grandpup" . The instructors are knowledgable and patient
My 10 month old has been coming here since was 5 months, and she will be a lifer. Rita is amazing with the dogs. Her set up is amazing. She keeps the bigger dogs separate from the little ones so the little ones don’t get hurt. She has awesome playgrounds for the kiddies to climb and vast amount of land for them to run. Providing you bring your pup’s good, she gives them breakfast and dinner. The kiddos also have a nap time. My baby met her best friend there; that are now inseparable. For those who complain about the owner’s pickiness on what breeds are allowed, it is her prerogative: SHE’S THE OWNER!!! 🤔 I know put bulls, since I see that’s the main complaint, and, yes, they can be gentle and wonderful with people. However, when they get into playing rough, they don’t realize their jaw strength and locking. So do some research yourselves. The owner has been wonderful and works with me if I’m running late or need to bored my pup last minute. I truly hope she stays around for a very, very long time.
Rita and her team are amazing. They care for our dog Beau like he is their own! Every morning Beau is by my side ready to go to his second home for day care! Your pets will be loved and in good hands, they will also have so much fun with their friends they will sleep through the night! Love this place! Dave
Best place ever! From the second I brought my 10 month old Catahoula/Beagle mix she was smiling and happy. When we picked her up she was happy to see us and exhausted. The fact that she was a bit dirty only proved to me she played well. Great prices and lots of room for her to run. I will be taking her regularly to burn off all that excessive energy she has.
My dog loves it here! Rita is great! I feel safe sending my sweet baby here! Definitely recommend!
Not worth it!! This dog daycare has the shadiest yard full of crappy home made "agility equipment/dog equipment." The crates for the dogs are way too small for any dog bigger than a corgi. The owner will complain about your dog if it plays with other dogs. She also doesn't know what 2 dogs playing looks like, says they are fighting. She has clearly never seen grown dogs play. I've taken my dog to countless parks and not once have I ever had to yell at him for playing too rough neither has my girlfriend! Usually it's other dogs playing too rough! Definitely not worth the money, like all she does is sit there, it's not that hard to watch dogs play all day and make sure they have water. Then to have her b**** and moan about what your dog does. He's a dog. Let him be a dog!
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I brought my dogs here 5 times over the span of one month and each time I dropped them off the owner had something rude to say. This daycare is nothing more than a glorified fenced in backyard with hazardous junk all over the place. I liked the fact that they were outside all day until I saw the inside facilities. There were a couple medium sized wire kennels that my large dogs could barely lay down in. But I figured it was okay to bring just during the day for daycare- I NEVER boarded them here (and you shouldn't either unless you have a small dog. Even then I would advise against it). The last couple times I have picked them up they were quarantined by themselves. If I wanted them alone in a backyard I could do that at home for free. Today I was asked to not bring my dogs back because they play too rough and get the other dogs excited. THEY'RE DOGS!! I have two high energy young dogs that play a little rough with one another but would never hurt another dog or person. They've been to countless dog parks and 3 other daycares in different states I've lived in and they have never had any issue getting along. My one dog was used as the Trial Day Dog at her last daycare- if new dogs didn't get along with her, they weren't allowed to stay. So that just goes to show how ridiculous this place is. The ONLY plus to this place was how cheap it is. But I guess you get what you pay for. Save your money and send your dog somewhere else.
This is the only place I'll board both my dogs at (11yr Cocker Spaniel & 4yr Toy Poodle), Once I get out the food container, bedding and say the words lets go see Nanny they know where they're going and get anxious to leave. Once we get to the family dog club facility they can't wait to get out of the car, they run straight to the gate. This tells me a lot about how they feel about the place, sometimes they run inside and don't look back to say good bye. I travel 1 to 3 weeks at a time 2 to 4 times a year and I can’t see myself boarding them in a place that keeps them locked up in kennels for 20 hours a day for 1 to 3 weeks at a time. Here it’s open boarding, to them it's like going on a long doggy park trip. They get lots of exercise while interacting with other dogs for the entire day, this means they will get dirty, which I’m OK with knowing they are moving around freely just like at home. I just give them a bath once back home. They sleep soundly for a few days once back home recovering from all that exercise. Best prices I've found. This is their home away from home when I have to travel.
Family Dog Club is a fun experience in a professional atmosphere. And not just for the dogs I mean. Humans actually enjoy it as well ! The training rings are quite large and are changed around often, as opposed to one ring with one setup. The dogs actually has to think as opposed to just one the dogs eventually just do by memory. They also board dogs & have 'Doggy Daycare' & w/ only "top-of-the-line" care. Last but not least, the owner and staff are down to earth and could not be more honest and friendly. They will actually tell you if they think their Club or daycare is not the right fit for your dog & you rather than keep the dog coming and have a frustrated dog and owner. To run across that kind of honesty these days is amazing. I guess I could have just said in a word the family dog Club is; "Amazing"!
