Shirley left eveything as she found it. The cats seemed to do well while we were away.

Barbara is a wish come true for any pet parent. From communication, to flexibility, to thoughtful questions to make sure she was giving Bruce the best care — she is the best house sitter I’ve ever worked with. Highly recommend.

Chris and Barb were great pet and house sitters! Our dog Arthur was sad to see them leave and us arrive! They left our home even cleaner and tidier than when we left, and we appreciate all they did to look after Arthur.

Animal Lover & Sitter
Richard and I are very happy that we chose Dara. We were very comfortable leaving our dogs and our house in her care for three months. As for every home, over this period of time unforeseen issues arose. Dara was very good at communicating with us and following up on our suggestions/solutions to resolutions. Dara is very reliable, calm and easy to speak with. Our dogs were well taken care of and, I’m sure, sorry to see her leave😊. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter.

We were lucky enough to have Dede sit our house and yellow lab for a little more than two weeks. She treated our house as if it were her own and did an outstanding job looking after our three year old yellow lab, providing the requisite exercise for her, as well as the love and attention she so craves. Our home was spotless upon our return with everything in order and although our pup was happy to see us, she may have been a little sad to see Dede go. We would reccomend Dede, with our highest praise, to anyone who is seeking a responsible, caring, communicative and considerate sitter, you will not be disappointed!

Animal Lover on the Move
We enjoyed meeting Maureen during her dog sit. Unfortunately her husband wasn’t able to join her but that just gave her and Gabbie time to bond!!! They went to local breweries, Angel Oak tree, and a plantation!! And of course they played in the back yard and snuggled on the couch. I know Gabbie had a great time and she can’t wait to see Maureen again. Thanks Maureen for everything! The house was perfect when we returned and your communication was great! We enjoyed seeing our daily photos and updates! We hope to see you again and get a chance to meet your husband.

Rosie was and is awesome! I will have her back whenever it works for both of us! Our house was in perfect shape. She handled things like dead batteries and a leaky litter box superbly. Sent me pictures. Communicated exactly the right amount. Was always responsive. I don't want anyone to know how good she is because you might entice her to your home when I want her here! Thank you so very much Rosie!

I'm a quiet, clean, responsible nurse (and animal lover).
(The English version follow) Tout était parfait avec Elise! --------------------------------------- Everything was perfect with Elise! As soon as she entered the house, I felt her interest and gentleness towards Anna and Boris. She was very attentive to my expectations and asked good questions to make sure she understood how the house worked. I would have liked to receive more news from Anne and Boris during my absence. I will make sure that this aspect is clearer during my next house-sitting. The house was super clean... beyond my expectations! Elise even left me fresh strawberries and chocolate for my return. What a sweet thought! For all these reasons, I highly recommend Elise!

Retired, looking for travel experiences and the joy of pet companionship.
It was so wonderful to have Karen back! I feel at ease when she’s caring for Rocky and my home. She’s a great communicator and left my house spotless. Grateful she returned to pick up where she left off with Rocky - and that she forgives him for being a bed hog! :)
Cynthia was a perfect pet sitter for our little kitty. We knew from her extensive experience with cats that Nala was in good hands. She was extremely responsive via texts when we were away, ensuring us that the 2 of them were having a great time. She went absolutely above and beyond by scrubbing our bath and toilets to remove our mineral deposit rings that we haven't been able to get rid of! She even left the name of the product she used so we can get more in the future. The house was cleaner than when we left. We'll have her back anytime!
We literally cannot say enough positive things about Susan and Miranda! They are the best! From start to finish, they did an amazing job communicating with us, giving our 3 (somewhat needy) cats extremely high quality care and tons of attention, and keeping our house clean and plants watered. They took adorable pictures of the cats and sent them to us several times a day, played with them and gave them so much love and affection, and when we got home the house was even cleaner than when we left. We even asked them for some tips on how they were caring for the cats because our cats seemed happier and more relaxed than ever when we returned home to them! This was by far our best cat/house sitter experience to date. We hope Susan and Miranda are available again in the future to sit for us and would invite them back without hesitation.
Kathy and Ron arrived at our home with a most fantastical toy for our cats and a giant apple pie. Need I say more? They are very experienced sitters and brought personal items that they prefer. We knew we were leaving out cats in good hands. A large part of their 'job' was hand watering our garden and Ron took that in stride. Everything is thriving. Our cats are usually distant with new people but we received photos of them keeping Kathy and Ron company in various situations which was reassuring. They clearly won our cats over. Although Ron and Kathy had a ferry to catch on their last day, they took time to wash their linens and hang them on the clothesline. They also left us a gorgeous plant for our garden. We would very much like to have them back for a longer sit if possible.
Toby and Chloe were one of the best house sitters we have ever had! As a small animal vet I have seen many types of pet sitters and these guys are top notch. Our pets are not easy either. We have special needs dogs, cats on medication, dogs with behavioral issues, horses, chickens, goats and a large (100 lb) Sulcata tortoise who needed close monitoring of the temperature in his barn. Everyone was thriving and happy when we came home. They read through the packet and asked thorough, thoughtful questions. They went above and beyond grooming, mucking and grazing the horses and goats everyday. They chopped greens and fruit daily for our tortoise. If we had known how amazing they were we would have booked a 3 week trip instead! Can't recommend them enough.
Catherine was a wonderful sitter for our 17 year old cat Zabba. She sent us pictures twice a day and kept us informed about Zabba’s daily activities. We came home to a clean home and would definitely recommend her as a pet/ house sitter. My only concern was that she doesn’t drive and with an older cat, I just prayed that Zabba didn’t need to go to the vet…. And he didn’t 🥰. We will ask her again for sure.
We can not exaggerate the care and love Juliet and Laurent gave to our cat, Piero, during his the last few weeks of life. While we left for our trip thinking he merely had a bladder infection, his symptoms turned for the worse a weeks into their sit and later revealed he had cancer. No one would wish their sitter to need to hospice their cat but Juliet and Laurent showed such compassion for Piero and volunteered to be with him when we made the decision to put him down. It was an emotional time for all of us and we will be forever grateful to our two caring cat and house sitters. We have had many fantastic housesitters through zeewoi but Juliet and Laurent top the list. Their professionalism, constant communication and compassion were exceptional. Should you have the opportunity to have them in your home, do not hesitate to book them, you will have no regrets. We do, however, regret that they had such a short time with Piero and had to experience such a painful event.
If you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies and your house while you're away, Daniel is your guy! I had discovered zeewoi just a couple of weeks before I was to leave on vacation and I was not only apprehensive if the website was too good to be true, but also under a real time crunch. I reached out to over 100 local sitters and several possibilities fell through. I was confident I would find the right sitter and when Daniel applied for the sit and I started to text and converse with him, I knew I had found the perfect sitter for my two cats! Daniel was upbeat and positive, articulate and personable, warm and caring, and he asked all the right questions about Lilly and Eli (I hadn't had the time to complete my Welcome Guide, yet!?!). I shared that I had an easy cat and problem cat -- Lilly, who is sweet, social and eats dry food, and Eli who is skittish, was periodically pooping outside the kitty litter box and was eating prescription canned food twice a day mixed with a probiotic and stool firmer. I asked if he thought he was up for the job and he happily said he was. Since he flew all the was from Chicago, I thought the least my husband and I could do was pick him up at the airport. When he arrived, he pulled out his notebook. He patiently walked with me as I reviewed kitty care, showed him around the house, and where he would be sleeping. He immediately picked up Lilly who was excited about meeting her new friend and Eli bugged out and down the stairs to the basement (his favorite hiding place!). We got Daniel connected to the internet, set him up at our dining room table and headed off to airport, leaving our house and kitties in the best of hands. Daniel wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and assured while we were away. He made sure to text with me every other day (he had asked my preference earlier), sent photos of Lilly being her cute self while Eli hid during the day although he gave me assurances that he was eating his food and using the litter box (there were a few accidents, but Daniel never complained about these additional duties). When we returned from our vacation, the house was also spotless and well cared for and Daniel had even washed the sheets for me! It is with utter happiness and complete confidence that I recommend Daniel as a fantastic Sitter. He is trustworthy, responsible, caring, and competent, and you can rest assured that both your house and sweet pets will be watched over and treated with TLC -- and will truly be in the best of hands while you are away!
Oh wow! Everyone should be so lucky to have Nicholas and Veerle watch their house and pets. These lovely people are pros! They communicated early and often, were super accommodating to some last minute changes (it was originally going to be only our cats to watch but we decided to keep the dog home as well so that added to the schedule and care needs) and they left the house spotless and all set up for another sitter who came in after them. We didn’t get the chance to meet because my departure and arrival times but I dearly hope I get to in the future because they were just great! I even heard how nice they were from My neighbors who say them out walking our dog. :-) They also sent regular pictures of the pets which look like pro-photography! Cannot recommend this couple enough! Your pets and house will be in good hands!
Caroline was a fabulous sitter and looked after our cat and the house beautifully. She is sensible and very self-sufficient but also kept us informed. We came home to a happy cat and a tidy house. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others and hope she will sit for us again in the future!
Chris was a fantastic cat sitter for our elderly and high maintenance kitty. Chris was the perfect combination of responsible and on top of her medication needs while also being calm and relaxed about her picky eating habits and the need to monitor her food and medication consumption. He was prompt, easy to get a hold of, responsible, and overall, a great sitter. I would definitely recommend him and most certainly hope to have him stay with her again.

I love what Bittersweet is doing since talking over! They have extended their hours so that my pups get more interactions with staff. Yes they raised the prices but my dogs get to have playtimes now compared to Alpha where they were in there kennels all day except for potty breaks. I also got a bath for my pups and they did a great job! They looked so cute in their bandanna after their bath. When I picked them up they were so happy and I knew that they were well taken care of. Totally worth paying a little more to know that my dogs are not just surviving but thriving when away from home!
From the 1st call I made when I talked to Tiffany I knew Bittersweet was a great place! We boarded our Siberian Husky Takoda over Labor Day weekend. The love and care Takoda received went above and beyond. Grayson, Morgan, Tiffany , Cam and Hanna are Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Takoda comes home so happy! I received a daily report card with pictures 💕 The staff made sure Takoda received his medication on time. I cannot say enough good about Bittersweet 💕💕💕💕
Just be transparent and don't waste people's time. Not only do you have to pay for boarding, but you're FORCED to pay for a package so your dog can play with other dogs! That's standard and always included at any boarding facility I've ever been to. And they don't mention it until the very end.
My partner and I were scheduled to go out of state Dec 12-14. He called Bittersweet (Three Rivers) a few weeks prior to book our two dogs (10mo poodle, 4yr pitbull) for boarding at Bittersweet. It was a really easy process; although when we went to drop off the dogs on the 12th, we hadn’t been scheduled. Luckily, they still had availability and all of our information. Everyone we and the dogs interacted with were extremely welcoming and understanding. Their pricing was affordable and their care was above and beyond. I gave the staff pre-portioned food for my puppy in sandwich bags, and they were so thoughtful that they kept the bags for me even though I didn’t need them. They took detailed notes of my requests/information (ie my puppy tries to eat the other dog’s food if she finishes before him, so the staff said they’ll have someone stick around in the room to ensure that doesn’t happen; my puppy hasn’t had much socialization with other dogs, so the staff said they’ll keep a close eye on her interactions during playtime). Upon our return, the staff told us that it was a pleasure having our dogs and they behaved well with the other dogs during the playtimes. Today, Bittersweet called my partner to ask how the dogs were doing, and said they’d love to watch over them. I really appreciate their care and patience, and we definitely plan on bringing our dogs there again when we go on vacation in the future!
We've used several kennels with our puppers. And priced out many others. This is our place! I've read reviews complaining about the cost, but it is totally worth it! My girl is like my second child, and my boy is like my daughters brother. Our pups are not pets, they are family. Bittersweet is the best! I cannot complain about this place. They treat your pups like their own. Katara and Sokka come home and "die" on the floor for several hours so tuckered out from playing with friends. I'm a worry wort! When they aren't with me I stress, but they send report cards with pictures!! I recommend Bittersweet to everyone!!!
They were beyond professional and completely amazing. Sent a report card daily and had so many options for care. Izzo loved it
Rookie was happy to be heading home but he stopped to give an extra hug to the staff member before he left. It seems he enjoyed his stay at Bittersweet in Three Rivers. Thank you for taking such loving care of him!!
Boarded my 3 year old Doberman Molly for an overnight stay while I was in Chicago. I couldn't board her at my regular boarding kennel due to lack of space during Spring Break. This was the first time I've used Bittersweet since it's conversion from Alpha and I am very pleased with the improvements. The staff is very friendly and truly care about their boarders. They gave me a tour of the kennel when stopped there a couple of days earlier. I was made aware of all charges and vaccinations in advance of the drop-off. Molly got along with all of the staff (she can be picky) and showed no negative behavior when I picked her up. Yes, it is pricey compared to a lot of other kennels but you get what you pay for. I agree with the owners about requiring some amount of playtime being necessary for pet health and attitude even if it's only overnight. Also up to date vaccines are a necessity! I wouldn't board Molly at any kennel that didn't have a vaccine requirement.
I have a super anxious belgian malinois and we took him here to board for the weekend, the staff was so friendly and organized. Tiffany did an absolute amazing job, and I knew my dog would be so well taken care of. He came home so happy and healthy! We also had a full service grooming done on him and they did a phenomenal job! Because our dog is so anxious we opted for 2 individual play times a day, the price was so reasonable and worth every penny! 5/5 stars, I would recommend this place to anyone!
Amazing service for our two German Shepard’s. The two went through the training program they offer and are now so well behaved. Our family is so grateful for the training they received.
We had a great experience with Up Dog Boarding & Daycare. Andrew clearly knows how to work with dogs. We have a very energetic 2 year old Australian Shepard with high exercise needs. The property was great for allowing him to run off energy. He also got many walks and was nice and tired when we brought him home - see the end-of-day photo. We just dropped him off for the day and hope to do a week or weekend stay in the future. The pricing and personal attention is better than other boarding places we looked into. Overall highly recommended! My only question is, what is Up Dog?…
Awesome Experience! Andrew is great with dogs and provides them with care and attention that they would not get elsewhere. I took our dog for a meet and greet and it was clear she was comfortable and felt safe from the beginning. We then left her there for four nights. Andrew provided photos throughout the stay and is quick to respond to any questions. It's a unique experience that you won't find at a bigger kennel - we really appreciate that his setup allows for so much outside time and (if your dog likes water) even a dip in the lake! We already have our next stay booked - thanks!
Boarded my female German Shepherd with Up Dog a few weeks ago. Excellent care from a true dog lover. Unlike other boarding facilities there are no hidden fees or expensive packages to purchase. So happy to have found my pups new home away from home!
Took care if my fur babies for a week. I got updates. Great personal attention to boys! I highly recommend Up Dog Boarding.
