Retired, nonsmoking couple who enjoy animals and exploring new places
Christine and Mark could not have been more charming or more trustworthy and capable of looking after our cat and our rather complicated home. They were unfortunate enough to be at our home during substantial building works and never made a fuss about this. Everything was immaculate when we returned apart from a leaking shower which was not in any way their fault and which they dealt with very effectively when the need arose. I strongly recommend Christine and Mark as zeewoi.

Sunil is an excellent house-sitter. Great communication before and during the sit, with many fun photos. Sunil took great care of our cats, houseplants and home. It is people like Sunil that makes zeewoi a success. We hope he will be available to return to our home in the future. Many thanks to Sunil.

Seasoned Pet and House Sitter
My dogs and I were lucky to rely on Sheila’s excellent pet care a second time. This sit required a great deal of coordination between both Sheila and my friends who provided intermittent pet care. Sheila communicated directly with me and my friends to ensure that all was well during my 5-week absence from home. Olive and Annie obviously like Sheila and feel very comfortable with her. Finally, Sheila made sure sheets and towels were freshly laundered and the house was tidy. I’m quite pleased with her care and offer a strong recommendation.
Julia was an amazing house sitter and dog sitter! She sent me photos and updates every day, she took my pup Jordan on long walks and gave him the love, care, and patience that he needs. She was so easy and comfortable to communicate with and she left the house so clean and tidy for when I came back. Definitely recommend her!!!
Anita was a wonderful dog sitter for Balto! They were super tentative, made sure to ask any and all questions before we went away, and they sent the best updates about Balto while we were gone. I felt so much better knowing my dog was in great hands, and I could not recommend Anita enough! Quality care, and our apartment was spotless when we returned home.
Diane and Les were excellent pet and house sitters. Jet was a very happy dog when we returned and Diane had shared many photos of their days together while we were away on holiday. The house was very clean and tidy when we returned and some milk , bread and sweet treats had been left for us, which were very welcome after our 2 long flights home. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Diane and Les as sitters for your home and pets, everything was done to a high standard and Jet was happy in his usual environment , which is all we wished for. Many thanks to you both.
Wendy sat for us on three occasions this Summer and I can’t say enough good things about her. The dogs were well taken care of and she was, organized, tidy, and responsible. It’s great to find a house/pet sitter that you can rest easy knowing everything is taken care of. We are hoping she will want to spend more time in the PNW!
Brian is awesome - he is simply the best pet sitter and house sitter that we have EVER had and we've had a bunch. He is experienced, thoughtful, respectful, loving, appreciative, helpful, enthusiastic...the list just goes on. Started with our initial call - it was our first sit with zeewoi and he immediately instilled confidence in us in how he talked about his experience and how he saw his role. In the pre-planning, he had great questions for us and helped us to get organized. He was thorough through the instructions, came in a day early to make sure he understood everything about our house and our dog and then followed through on everything. He even drove us to the airport and picked us up on the return. Along the way we were gone, he sent us pictures and kept us updated - always making us feel good about being away and knowing Jorge and the house were in great hands. We had workers coming to fix a fence while gone and some other activity at the house - he was helpful, available, and willing to do whatever was needed to be done. He was self-sufficient and when it came time to leave, he had everything organized and cleaned at the house - he left it in better condition than he received it. We would love to have Brian sit whenever we are away (and in fact will invite him and hope he says yes!) - any one would be lucky to have Brian as their house and pet sitter.
If you need a sitter don’t hesitate to pick Vanessa, I highly recommend her. She cared for our fur baby for two weeks and received the care and attention she needed. We came back to a very happy pup and clean home which is awesome after coming back from a long trip. I received texts and pictures of our dog while we were gone which gave us peace of mind. You could tell right from the start that she genuinely loves animals and will care for them as if they are hers. I will continue to use her as my pet sitter if she’s available. All I can say is she is a wonderful person!!
I was fortunate to have Lisa as a sitter for my active, 7-year old lab mix (Ozzy) for a week in Bend. Lisa took the time to meet us via Facetime and in person before her stay. It was apparent she wanted to be well-prepared and aware of any special doggie needs he may have, or any help I needed with watering plants or bringing in mail. She took great care of Ozzy while I was away and sent me regular updates and photos of their outdoor adventures. I returned home to a very happy dog and a house exactly as I had left it. I'd welcome Lisa back anytime!
Jim sat for my extremely shy rescue pup and new kitten for two weeks -- my pup struggles with new people, and is very fearful of men in particular. And yet, Jim was more successful with her than any sitter I've ever had: I can't recommend him highly enough. He has wonderful patience, a calm energy, and is a great communicator. He consistently updated me with photos and videos of my sweet girls enjoying the world with him, taking my dog on hikes and adventures to her favorite streams. He went above and beyond both for her (in meeting her needs and taking the time to get to know her personality), and also in caring for my home. I returned to such a cozy environment, a repaired wood stove, an organized wood pile and an at-peace dog and cat. Choosing Jim as a sitter is ensuring that your pets and home are getting the best of care, and his actions exemplify his kindness, generosity and thought taken in consideration of others. I hope to have him return many times in the future; the experience was a privilege both for myself and my pets.
The two-leggeds and four-legged members of this household give Tess a 5-star rating! We think she's one of the best sitters you will find - highly communicative, friendly, competent, reliable, and great with pets. Tess was also flexible about start and end dates to accomodate possible winter weather complications. For this sit, Tess was able to bring along her mom, Cathy. Tess introduced me to Cathy during one of our Skype conversations prior to the sit. It was a bonus to have her here with Tess. Their travel to Marquette was complicated by weather. A fierce winter storm swept across Michigan just before the sit. It took Tess and Cathy two days to drive here but they arrived, as promised, in time for us to fly out early the next morning. We even had time for a lovely dinner together and to introduce them to the dogs and house. We left the next day and never had a moment's worry while Tess and Cathy were caring for our pets and home. Tess sent us regular updates and photos. The dogs immediately accepted them as great new additions to their pack of friends - even our cranky, old chihuahua, Nike! We returned to happy pets and a spotlessly clean home. We plan to invite Tess (and Cathy if available) to return for future sits. Thank you, Tess and Cathy!
Oh my Goodness! Where to begin. Linda was the perfect house sitter for us and the perfect pet sitter for Olivia! She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. When we returned from out two week vacation all our plants were alive, the garden was alive, the birds and fish had been fed regularly, and the dog was alive and happy! What more can you ask for, right? Well with Linda you get all that and more. Updates as you request - even videos of her morning walks with Olivia. The house as spotless as we left it, maybe even better! Even the porches were clean! Linda is a genuine treasure and our recommendation would be 10 stars if there were that many!!

We have 2 pups. A 9 year old and a 10 month old. We were in search of occasional day care and occasional boarding for them. I spent two weeks very diligently touring and combing through hundreds of reviews for several local facilities. Some of the horror stories left by previous clients on these other places really left me nauseated. For every bad review there were 3 good reviews which was frustrating. Regardless of the good out totaling the bad, my gut just wouldn’t allow me to send my dogs to any of these other places. Our dogs and the care they receive in our absence is as important to us as child care was when our children were young. I thought it was a lost cause and was ready to change my search to in home care providers when a co-worker recommended The Brown Dog to me. I had never heard of The Brown Dog which was surprising because it was so close to my home and I must have driven past it a hundred times. I quickly did an online search, skimmed the website and read the online reviews. Everything looked good on the surface so I reached out to Morgan explaining our dogs and their specific needs as well as requesting a tour of the facility. Morgan responded right away and I was able to go in and meet with her that very same day! Morgan was warm and friendly and answered every single one of my very many questions. The place was clean and sanitary, well appointed with all the basic needs, and provided spacious indoor boarding kennels as well as outdoor play spaces. There were several dogs in attendance during my visit and each one seemed well adjusted and very happy. What a breath of fresh air this experience was!! We scheduled an evaluation trial day of daycare and got all the paperwork done. Trial unfortunately didn’t go so great. My girl has a very strong personality mixed with lots of anxiety. My baby boy is extremely attached to his sister and doesn’t do well when separated from her. Rather than deciding my dogs were not a good fit and turning me away, and rather than accepting my dogs and putting them in uncomfortable situations in the future, Morgan suggested a second trial day. She wanted to introduce different dogs and try a different process. The safety and comfort of my dogs as well as the others in her care was her top priority and she was more than willing to do what she could to find a good fit. We greatly appreciated this care and attention. Thankfully Morgan found a perfect recipe for my pups. They made some new friends and acclimated themselves well. Since then my pups go to daycare on an every other week basis and they have also been boarded there for a 6 day stretch in April and a 4 day stretch in July. We couldn’t be happier! The pups come home with big smiles and are EXHAUSTED from a day full of play! When we return they are excited to get out of the car and go in to see their new friends! Highly recommended for both daycare and boarding.
Morgan and her team at The Brown Dog Canine Care did an excellent job looking after my dog during a recent trip. The drop off and pick up process was easy and well organized, Morgan provided updates throughout the week and included the images attached(along with others) on this review. The add on packages (walks, play times, etc) are reasonably priced and well worth the extra charge. Overall I am very happy with the service they provided and they have become my go-to boarding/day care.
I’ve been taking Marco to The Brown Dog for daycare 2-3 times a week since it opened. Marco has some personality quirks and isn’t always the easiest dog to manage. Morgan and her team have been wonderful to him! I feel so happy to have a safe, caring place for Marco to go when I am at work for 10-11 hours a day. I get photos and updates on how he is doing and he’s been socializing with other dogs which is so helpful! I highly recommend their services!
Recently I boarded my very nervous dog at the Brown dog. She can be difficult and I never like to leave her, but Morgan and her team were fantastic to work with. Drop off and pick up was a breeze. I got updates about how she was but more importantly when I got her home after my trip she was the exact same dog she always was. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will happily be boarding at the Brown Dog in the future! Thank you so much!
We are so happy that we found Morgan and The Brown Dog Canine Care. We've boarded our 1 year old energetic dog with her twice, and both times he came home so happy! We've also used the daycare, and he gets so excited every time we pull up. Astro loves Morgan, and so do we! We know Astro is in good, very capable hands. Highly recommend The Brown Dog! I will attach one of the pics Morgan sent us while Astro was being boarded <3
Morgan and her team are wonderful and caring. Oliver loves going to day care, he comes home happy and tired. I love the smaller groups and it’s very reasonably priced.
Wonderful experience boarding our 2 girls at The Brown Dog! We have 2 rescue mixed breed pups who are our world. One of our dogs has a difficult personality and is not easy for most people to handle. When I went to meet Morgan and tour her facility, I explained all the quirks we deal with, and Morgan was very empathetic and explained her vast experience working with dogs. Wow, was I impressed!! She made me feel completely comfortable that she could handle our challenging pup with ease and confidence. That is what I'm looking for in a boarding facility. We've had some disappointing experiences in our 8 years of boarding all over the capital district, but interacting with Morgan quickly changed our minds! I appreciated the great portal she implemented to upload all of our dogs' documents, request a reservation, and input all of their instructions for boarding such as feeding and medications. It made dropoff seamless and quick since she had everything ahead of time. We were able to drop them off and be on our way, and everything was very organized! When we returned to pick them up, it was the same-everything was neatly packed up and ready to go. We appreciated that all of their belongings were there, including their canned food from the fridge! Let me tell you-I don't know what kind of magic Morgan works there, but our dogs have never been so calm after returning from boarding! We've had some unpleasant experiences elsewhere such as upset tummies and hoarse from barking so much, which broke our hearts. However, this time they were like new dogs! We both kept remarking throughout the day that they came home how CALM and HAPPY they both were! It was nothing short of miraculous! Again, I think it is a testament to Morgan's experience and training working with dogs of all breeds and personalities. She sent us pictures during our trip, kept us updated on how they were doing, and seemed genuinely invested in their care. It was so reassuring to us to know that she takes her business seriously, and is a true professional. We're so happy to have found The Brown Dog, and can't recommend it enough! We have several upcoming reservations already booked!
We recently started bringing our 8-month old puppy Stevie to The Brown Dog and our experience has been OUTSTANDING! Morgan is a consummate professional in taking care of the dogs, ensuring that they are screened and healthy, communicating with the dog owners and handling all of the logistics of booking and payment. She is also very friendly and exudes a positive vibe, which is important as the pack leader for all the pups. Stevie doesn't have any siblings, so we're very grateful that she is getting such positive socialization with her new friends at The Brown Dog. We can tell that she is cared for and active at "school" because she is always so upbeat when we pick her up and then she is tuckered out in the evening when we return home. We highly recommend The Brown Dog to anyone looking for great care for their pup(s)!
I cannot be more pleased with The Brown Dog! I have utilized both the boarding and daycare services, my dog regularly visits. He is definitely a unique character and Morgan has done an incredible job of patiently managing his exuberance while also allowing him to play with other dogs. My dog is always thrilled to go and comes home tired, which is great for both of us!
I have an anxious, loquacious German Shepherd. At times, he can be a lot to handle. It can be difficult to find trustworthy places capable of handing him. Morgan and staff do an excellent job easing both his and my own anxiety during his stays. I get regular updates and photos and can tell he is comfortable once he is there. Everyone is super accommodating. It is a relief knowing there is place I can trust to take care of my special little guy.

My experience with Waggs-And-Woofs has been very positive. My Midas looks forward to going and comes home pooped out. The owner and her employees have always been helpful if I have had a problem with Midas. I love that not only do they play hard when there they also learn new tasks!
