Creature comforts (Tyla, Leah and Shirley) looked after our 3 cats while we were away for the last week, such an awesome service for very shy cats who are comfiest in their own home. A great weight off our shoulders not worrying about them while on holiday with the daily updates (although they hid from the photos a lot!) Awesome service, highly recommended :)

Whilst the service appeared to be what I was looking for and I signed up and agreed to having a pet sitter come and feed my fur baby, I did not expect that over the course of 9 days three seperate individuals would be given access to my property to feed my cat!!! This was not explained to me. First concern - three strangers were inside my house when only anticipated one, and how was there continuity of care for my cat with all these strangers coming and going? One feeder did a great job, but the other two were average and one even copy and pasted his daily report, and failed to stick to the agreed feeding times. I have reached out to the service but the silence is deafening !!!

I have 3 fur babies at home (2 cats and a rabbit) and leaving them for work trips is always hard. But knowing creature comforts will come round and feed my precious souls makes the trip a little bit more bearable. I love receiving the daily reports with photos of the pets and cute summary of what your pets have been up too. They clean litter trays (and even hairballs) top up hay baskets, feed and for me even empty the dehumidifier. It's fantastic and means my older cat can stay in her familiar surroundings putting less stress on her. The carers provide pats and treats (what I provide) and you csn see the care for the job come through in the reports. You have to provide Vet details and confirm the carers can take your pet to the vets if they fo d any concerns- which again is a huge relief to know. Highly, highly recommended for anyone in the Wellington region if planning to go away. Whilst all the carers have been fantastic a special shout out to Tyla- my boy cat is very shy and timid of strangers yet they managed to get him to stay inside whilst they visited and even got pets from him- so a proper cat whisper there. :)

Excellent service and care for pets with qualified friendly staff. Provides absolute peace of mind knowing our old diabetic cat is being well looked after by people who understand his needs and have unconditional love for animals.

We had the BEST experience using Creature Comforts this week. My partner and I are new to Wellington and don't know many people who could watch our cat when we went away; Creature Comforts came highly recommended and it is purrrfect. Every day I received a service report email with an update on how Georgie was, with photos! The team took attentive, loving care of our kitty. Great service! We have an elderly kitty who needs her nailed trimmed but won’t let us do it! Creature Comfort offers an easy, low-stress way for our kitty to get that done in the comfort of her own home. We def recommend the wonderful cat friendly staff at Creature Comforts in Wellington!

As our lovely cat got older, she would get stressed to the point of illness if we used a cattery. Creature Comforts was recommended by a co-worker, and I wouldn't use anybody else now. Cally is safe in her own space and has somebody come attend to her every day. Great feedback and information about each visit means we can feel safe. Highly recommend.

I have confidently used creature comforts for two years and have complete trust in them to not only look after my cat but my home as well. The daily updates including photos are so fantastic. Sadly I am moving to Whitby where they do not offer a service, I will miss them being there to rely on so much! Thank you guys.

Down With Dogs is an absolute dream. They have looked after our dog for almost 2 years since he was a neutered pup. They care so much about the dogs and put the time in to ensure they’re adjusting well and communicate progress. They provided us with some extra care and advice on training. Basil is so excited when he’s picked up and satisfied and tired at the end of the day. The facilities are fantastic, with a big farm to walk over, yard to play in and stream to cool down in during summer. Thanks Alex, Aaron and team! 🤩

Shadow has been with Down with Dogs for over a year. We love that they've really taken time to understand her temperament and be patient with her while she integrates with the pack. She absolutely loves being picked up in the morning and comes home happy, tired and relaxed. After trying several other dog walking services I can't recommend Alex and the team highly enough!

My Pixie is always so excited when she gets picked up to go to Down With Dogs. And is so cuddly and sleepy when she gets home after a big day with her friends walking out in the hills. Love the photos and the lovely team.

Alex, Aaron and the team are incredible with our anxious girl and overly energetic boy. They go out of their way and have helped us with training and help8ng the dogs relax. The dogs absolutely love their weekly day care day.

I have been sending my dog to the amazing team at down with dogs for past year and I couldn’t recommend them enough! My dog is so pumped to get into the van that he eagerly waits at the door until he can hear the van pulling up. The fact that my anxious dog leaps into the van each week says something about the quality of care and love he receives at down with dogs. Big bonus as well- he is very fluffy and always comes back looking somewhat clean after the big walks through farmland they go on. Best doggie daycare we have attended!

These amazing humans have given my wee pup an amazing social life and taken him on some awesome adventures. I absolutely love it when he comes home muddy and I see the Instagram stories of him grinning and playing with his friends. The crew at Down with Dogs treat my dog as family, and that's so wonderful to see as a working owner.

Arnold has been going there for the past year and absolutely loves it. He's blissed out for the rest of the day and the day after! We love their flexibility and availability, and their dog handling is solid! They're even willing to make arrangements and take special time for anxious dogs to fit in instead of writing them off. A++!

TL;DR: 100% do not recommend this day care, they use techniques that breach MPI's Code of Animal Welfare. We sent our 10 month puppy to Down with Dogs with high hopes, and were thoroughly let down. Our puppy wasn't meeting their standards for recall or eye contact. I'll admit, she's a pretty energetic little working breed pup, but she passed puppy school with ease and is great with us. I assumed they used treats to reward dogs, and so suggested they use play as a reward for her, as that worked fabulously for us. They responded that they don't use food or play, and rather praise and "freedom" if the dogs are good. How a dog is meant to understand the human concept of freedom is beyond me, especially when they had her on a lead in every single photo they sent through. She'd even still need a walk when she got home. After a couple more weeks, the owner gave us an ultimatum, either we let them use a prong collar on her, or she's out. We, stupidly, went with it as we thought "they're the professionals, they must know." But guys. They don't know. They sent us one update, and then no more. After that, I called them out for not getting in touch and asked them how on earth she was meant to know when she was doing the right thing if they still aren't rewarding her. At which point I essentially got told that she wasn't a good fit, and it's best if we cancel her membership. Sounds to me like the bad fit is an owner who speaks her mind. Lol I was really upset, and so I did what I should have done earlier and researched it, and, it turns out that Minimum Standard 19 b. in the Code of Welfare for Dogs (Page 33 if you download the pdf) says "pinch and prong collars must not be used." Must not - Reads pretty clear to me. I'm disappointed I sent my pup there at all. The guilt is pretty huge. We sent her to another daycare today and she spent the day off lead, playing and they had nothing but nice things to say about her. Avoid this place, unless you have a dog that will sit at their feet and stare lovingly at them, and even then, avoid them because they don't adhere to best practice. 0/5 stars

Gordon LOVES Alex and Mackenzie and the team at Down With Dogs. And so do we. He comes back a very happy very tired boy everytime. And his yoga has improved heaps lol. We highly recommend them!

This was our little boy's first long stay away and needless to say, I was quite nervous. From the time of drop-off to pick up, the amazing team at Waglands provided great assurance that Benjamin was well loved and taken care off! The Educa app, that provided daily updates was a great win so I could keep up with the fury friends adventures. For a team that loves your fur-baby as much as you do and for a team that can be trusted to provide all the care when you're away, I highly recommend Waglands! 5/5 stars is certainly not enough - I know Benji is already waiting for his next stay!

An absolutely wonderful place for your bestie...my boy has been for daycare and an overnight stay. He always comes back home so relaxed, happy and clearly incredibly well looked after and cared for...Lovely facilities and amazing staff. Once my dog sees the Waglands van entering Percy’s Reserve, he drags me towards it and tries to be the first in line. He is always enthusiastic. The staff are always friendly and upbeat. Thank you all.

Waglands is simply fantastic. I’m very fussy about who I leave my dog with so even though it’s not my local, it’s well worth the trip to know my dog is in good hands. Despite my dog getting separation anxiety, he’s been very calm and happy each time I have come to pick him up. They have made extra effort to help him settle in and make him comfortable - what more could you ask for!

Dash the 8 month old Golden Retriever had a wonderful 2 week stay at Waglands. He came home happy, healthy and soooo soft from whatever magical shampoo and conditioner was used we couldn’t stop cuddling him. He’s since rolled in a sticky green puddle but it was nice while it lasted.

My two dogs go to Waglands two days a week and always come back exhausted so they must have a fantastic time there. I have noticed that their recall, leased behaviour and overall obedience has improved also.

Waglands is just awesome. All the team there are so welcoming and with such great facilities they make it feel like my dogs home from home. My 2 dogs have been to other facilities but I used to struggle getting them out of the car and they seemed very reticent to go and I felt guilty leaving them. At Waglands it is a totally different experience. They both get really excited when they realise where we are going and sometimes they are so happy to be there I don't even get a goodbye! It is always very reassuring to know they are in safe hands. We even receive report cards during their stay about how they are doing which is a wonderful personal touch which just about sums up our Waglands experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone hoping for an enriching and unbeatable experience for their dogs.

We have entrusted Ben and the Waglands team to look after our active dog Pip over the last five years. They consistently seem to provide a great experience for her and she is always keen to get out of the car for her next stay there! Also she also settles back into home life again very quickly, even if we have been away a few weeks. The service provided by the entire team is top notch, with friendly, obliging and professional staff. We highly recommend Waglands! There is also a great retail area there and we buy our K9 natural dog food from them too.

We emailed Waglands after hours when we had a last minute family emergency and wanted to kennel our dog the next day. Within a couple of hours I had a text message and an email back. Drop off was easy, their van is amazing, too. Our pup had a bath whilst there and came back the cleanest he’s ever been, shedding a lot less too. Most importantly, we got a report card about how he’d been, and he came back with a really good energy about him, the kind he has when he’s had a good time playing at his regular doggy day care, so we knew he’d enjoyed it. Waglands cost a little more than some kennels but are so worth it.

My dog is very anxious and doesn’t trust anything due to being attacked when he was a puppy. The staff at The Dog Garden have been able to bring him out of his shy anxious shell and we love to see the photos of him interacting with his handler and furry friends.

Our girl has been going here since she was a pup. The love and care the staff give the dogs is wonderful. They are completely committed to doing what's best for your pup. Can't say enough positive things about them

I don't know what I would do without the Dog Garden! Its very competitively priced and I love that I can leave my dog at home and go to work knowing that he will be well taken care of, and by the time I get home in the evening he is tired and relaxed (this is especially appreciated during Winter). They also post photos everyday of the dogs on their Facebook page so you can see how they are doing during. The grounds are well kept and the staff are all very friendly. I recommend the Dog Garden to all dog owners, and hope my dog can keep attending for years to come.

The Dog Garden is run by caring professionals who treat every dog as if they were their own. My puppy, Tupper, has been going there since he was fully vaccinated and is so excited when he hears the van pull up. Whoever drops him off gives me an update of what happened during the day and they also post lovely pictures and videos on their Facebook page. It's also excellent value for money.

Love the DG! Our pup has been going for over two years and adores it. They are flexible with bookings, pick ups and super friendly. They also put so much effort into the dogs having a great and safe time. Thanks Megan and team!

After watching how The Dog Garden's van was driving around Wellington City this afternoon, I would not recommend anyone's furry family member hitch a ride to their doggy daycare. Unsafe, unprofessional and just outright careless - Slow down! These puppies have families waiting at home for their safe return.

Dog Garden has a couple of different areas setup for the Dogs to play or relax in. I love seeing them all interact with their buddies, both canine and human. The staff are really friendly too - good people.

Please remove your comments re Staffies, pitballs, German shepherds are fighting dogs. Under rhe fair trading act this is misleading and unfair to the breeds. If it is not removed I will put a complaint into the Commerce Commission. I have personally and still own all of these breeds and this is incorrect and damaging to the reputation of our dogs. This is very unprofessional of you and shows your ignorance towards dogs.

Very accommodating, even through my inability to txt the correct phone number. The pictures and videos each day are great. We can tell our dog loves it there.

Really lovely people, our dog is always happy to go and worn out when he comes home. Pick up and drop offs are good, a little time restrictive, but again lovely people.

Dinky’s is the number 1 place for small breed doggo care in the Hutt - overnight and for day care. The team take great personalised care with the dogs, no crates or cages - a real home away from home. A free ‘get to know each other’ session is a welcome opportunity to see if the other Dinky’s doggos and your dog thrive together. Keep up the awesome service Michelle and team!

My dog Pepper goes here and I could not recommend the place enough. A lovely lounge just like the dogs are at home, a fire to sit by. My dog is so excited to go there and be looked after by Michelle. I love that it is just for little dogs so I know my little dog will be safe! Oh and photos and videos that you can see on the Facebook page of your dog having a great time. This place is a 5/5 and I have used a lot of kennels over my life. Try it your dog will love it. Erin

We love taking Willow to Dinky Dogz, and she loves going there. How do we know she loves it...? She races in without a second glance back when we drop her off - she can't wait to play with her friends! Michelle and Alan take great care of Willow and always check with us or ask questions if they notice anything different with her health or demeanor. We feel completely confident recommending Dinky Dogz to anyone with a small dog.

Highly highly recommend Dinky Dogz. Michelle gives so much care and love to our dog. A perfect place for those dogs who might be small in size but big in personality.

The one doggy hotel for complete peace of mind. I have just never come across any boarding facility that is so caring and serious about dogs’ well-being. They even took care of my Schnauzer who severely injured her leg the day before we flew overseas. Michelle was still prepared to take her in and cared for her like her own. Taking her to hospital for surgery and caring for her till we returned. My Vet sang Michelle’s praises on how well Michelle took care of this vulnerable little creature and the knowledgeable and interest that she displayed. The only downside I guess is that my little Miniature Doberman falls so much in love with Alan every time they stay there that I am sure she will rather stay with him than coming home if she had a choice 😊

My dog came home with a huge smile on his face after his first day there. They are knowledgeable and professional, and they are very organized.

Great place for your fur babies. Excellent venue and friendly management with a lot of experience. Parking is available at Dinky Dogz in front of the building.

We have been going to Dinky Dogz since they opened. Originally we just went for daycare, this was instrumental in socializing our previously very timid dog. Our dogs are older now so we mainly use DK for boarding and it is a a true home away from home. DK owner's Michelle and Alan have created a wonderful purpose built building to house the dogs just below their own house, with couches, toys, even a wood burner for those cold nights. It is a bit of a journey to get there, at the top of the Belmont Hill in Lower Hutt, but most dog care businesses are similarity out of the way, to allow for inevitable noise. If you have a small dog they will love Dinky Dogz.

Great place to take your doggo for either training or for doggy day care, even for tiny ones like we have (Chihuahua x foxy), Jo has loads of knowledge and her team are really great too, couldn't recommend Canine solutions enough :D

Hi attended puppy preschool 20 years ago with my first dog woth Jo at a vet practice on Khandallah. Now several puppies later I am still taking my fur babies to Jo and daughter Hope now based in Upper Hutt. Puppies love the socialisation of getting together each week and the guidance and personalised training tips are priceless.

Our recently adopted dog has separation and socialisation issues and had Jo at a home visit to provide her advice and knowledge. The visit was definitely beneficial over and above what we'd been trying to reading online. Our dog is now also attending their daycare which is working out well, he comes home happy and tired. After a very nervous arrival for his first visit, he was excited to arrive on his second visit. Note that this review was written after 2 visits to the daycare.

Personally wouldn't recommend the training classes. The environment is loud, very distracting for the dogs and not conducive to learning and we honestly came away from every class feeling downtrodden and frustrated. As someone else has said in another review the back to back classes mean you're in and out with very little personal interaction and our specific concerns were not asked about or corrected during the classes. I'd really expect a lot more for the high price, when other much more personal classes are available elsewhere for a fraction of the cost (which we are now enrolled in). In saying that, our pup has improved a lot in her lead walking during the basic obedience class, but we believe that's really due to our diligence with homework and practice rather than advice we learned from the class (as they told us to do things we were already doing). Lead walking takes practice and time to build success with increasing distractions and we felt like this course doesn't allow for that. We're going to stick to celebrating our pup's progress at her own pace going forward at a more realistically paced training class elsewhere.

Do not waste your money at this place. My dog attended for almost 2 years in an attempt to socialise him to other dogs. For this whole time we got “perfect” report cards, but he has not learnt a single thing about being with other dogs. I imagine they just throw all the dogs in the area, without reducing energy levels and teaching meaningful skills for meeting other dogs. I’m having to start again, because this business is a money making shortcut.

My fur babies have been going to Jo for years (since Canine Solutions opened) and they love it. They leap out of the car and run into reception, excited about their day ahead. The team are amazing and look after the dogs and me very well.

I've taken my dog here for puppy preschool and doggy day care, he absolutely loves going to both and always comes home knackered from having so much fun. The staff are knowledgeable and provide a safe space for puppies to learn and play. Definitely recommend

Although we gained some great insights, I would not recommend Canine Solutions classes. They are pretty stressful because of their “sausage factory” model. All the classes run end on end and there is little to no time for individual questions or attention. The training is not tailored in anyway for your dog’s specific issues or needs and the main aim seems to be to crush their spirit. Since engaged another trainer and we are going really well.

Pippi Rose has been going to Welly Dogs for the last 2 years and is always super excited when the team come to pick her up. Luca and the team have created a safe environment were the dogs can learn and play. They are always so flexible and accommodating if I need to change dates even at the last minute. Highly recommend! Also love the social media updates an added bonus to see the fun things they get up to.

Welly Dogs are fabulous. Our dog loves her time there and adores Caitlin who picks her up each day. The training they do with the dogs shows in our dogs behaviour at home and we love watching the videos in the evenings to see what the dogs have been up to during the day. They are really responsive to all contact we make with them, and proactive to let us know if they see anything with our dog that they are worried about. I would highly recommend Welly Dogs to anyone.

Cannot recommend Luca and the team at Welly dogs enough! We have a mixed breed working dog, Davey, who is very excitable and really struggled with staying calm around other dogs. The team at Welly Dogs really gets to know each individual dog and their needs, they’ve helped give Davey structure in his daycare days and taught him how to have more relaxed interactions with other dogs. We’ve also participated in their training which has helped greatly with socialisation and loose leash walking. We feel so confident knowing that Davey is with such a competent and caring team, thank you Welly Dogs!

If I could give more stars I would! Welly Dogs has been exceptional for my two. They've been going everyday for several years and it's been fantastic for them. Luca and the team provide a safe, structured and fun environment. I love it that they have all breeds in together and they know what each dog needs. My older greyhound gets regular pats, a spot to snooze and a team that advocates for him if other dogs are a bit much for him. My young collie mix is full of energy and needs structure, a calm environment and lots of balanced play. I adopted her at 10 months and she'd had no training or boundaries, so it was critical I found the right place for her. I don't think she'd be the dog she is today without Welly Dogs and the excellent experience she has there. And I love their social media and getting to see my two living their best lives while I'm at work. They're the best!

Our little Minnie Moo goes to Welly Dogs twice a week! The service Welly Dogs offer is incredible, they do PUDO service and extra training if required. Minnie is the sweet, energetic, fun and clever dog she is today thanks to the Welly Dogs team! Highly highly recommend!

Welly Dogs has been amazing for our Border Collie, Frankie. Luca and the team are really friendly and have amazing care for the dogs and what they do. What I really love about Welly Dogs is that it's outside and they also work on training/obedience to mentally stimulate the dogs too. I have seen a noticeable change in Frankie's behaviour and how she interacts with other dogs (for the better). They are really active with their Instagram so I can see what she gets up to during the day and she always comes home knackered which is a bonus! Highly, highly recommend Welly Dogs.

The Welly Dogs crew are amazing! Highly recommend. Such a mix of dogs in a structured environment. Daily photos are a highlight, never know what cool idea the team will come up with. Training classes they run are also great, we progressed hugely doing the classes. Also have done a homestay with luca. Our doggie LOVED it not sure she wanted to come home. Luca and the team have done an amazing job with Pippin our German Shepherd. Since joining the team she has started to calm down noticeably, and she is always pooped when she gets home! It's also great that Welly Dogs are really proactive at sharing photos and videos on social media, so we are never left wondering what she is up to! Highly recommended 😊

Luca and the Welly Dogs pack school crew run an amazing place for all kinds of dogs. Our dog is very relaxed, but can be a bit stand offish. Welly dogs have socialised him and even done a lot of additional training that makes it really easy to reinforce at home. They take professional photos and keep us updated on what’s going on throughout the day, gifts for Halloween and Christmas. Couldn’t be happier! 100% recommend these guys if you’re lucky enough to access their service.

Highly recommend Wellys Dogs its such a great place, Luca has a true passion for training dogs but also ensures its a super safe place for all pups of all sizes. I especially love the pickup and drop off service they provide -its a life saver! Luca and his team are amazing to deal with, I love all the photos that are posted each day and seeing all the pups having such a great experience in a fun & social environment. Brooklyn loves it and so do we 🥰🥰🥰

I have two very anti-social dogs. I used to always be nervous giving them to other groomers, but ever since I found Dazzling Dogs, grooming has been a breeze, both for me and my two babies. At the last groom when I was picking my dog up, I walked in to shelly sitting there with my dog wrapped in a blanket on her lap because she was cold after her groom. It is blatantly obvious that these guys don't do this just as a job but they go the extra mile because of how passionate they are about dogs and do everything they can to make sure grooming is not as much of a nightmare for all the socially anxious dogs. So glad I found you guys, thank you :)

I'm very appreciative of the elite bunny retreat's hospitality. The booking process was super easy, I was provided with all the details I needed and Byndie was very accommodating to both me and my bunnies needs. The runs were spacious, clean and had all the bunny essentials. I was updated with photos regularly and it was a stress relief knowing my baby boys were in good and capable hands and very much enjoying their staycation. 10/10 recommend the elite bunny retreat for all rabbit and guinea pig owners, can't get any better than this!

Our rabbit has been boarding at Elite Bunny Retreat for 5+ years. He is always beautifully looked after and Byndie is genuinely pleased to see him! He gets a variety of different food and the hutches are a good size allowing him to move around freely.Highly recommended for your bunny.

My rabbit has being staying at Elite Bunny Retreat for the last three years. He loves going and staying here. The facilities are clean and warm. The rabbits have lots to entertain them and they are fed well. Byndie has always been very professional and pleasant to deal with and loves the animals. Elite bunny retreat looked after out rabbits for two weeks and did an excellent job. We checked photos on Facebook every few days and were reassured that our family bunnies were thriving, getting great food and receiving all they required. Great service!

Sheepy our guinea pig has stayed many times, including over summer holidays for 5 weeks! Every single stay she got taken care of so well and always looked great and happy when we picked her up again. An amazing place for your guinea pig or rabbit to stay, highly recommend. Byndie and her staff do a fantastic job.

I checked out some other local catteries before choosing to board my cat here, and The Sanctuary is vastly superior in all respects. It is very clean, cosy and warm. The staff were very helpful and caring. Its location in a commercial building means there are good fire safety and security measures in place. It is very convenient to be able to drop off and pick up at any time during shop hours, and great to know staff are close at hand throughout the day. Many thanks for Kirk’s stay!

The staff here are friendly and do look after the cat, its a home away from home. Our cat is not at all distressed while being held there. Once you have been boarding your cat a few times they have all of your records regarding vet checks and flea treatments and the like so its quite painless to make a booking for next time. Well done a great place to leave your loved cat.

Lovely cattery. Hope to bring louie to stay again. Not far to travel I live in Mangaraki with Louie, so it's a shorter travel for him too.
