Quality Pet Care have just looked after our Husky/GSD Dexter for 10 days while we were on holiday. They have been looking after my Mum’s dogs for the last few years and came highly recommended. We had a brilliant experience from start to finish, and were able to see updates and pictures while we were away which was so reassuring. Better yet, he came back to us very happy and looked like he’d had a lovely holiday himself! Thank you so much to the staff at QPC for looking after our very vocal and clingy boy. I doubt we’ll use anyone else now!

I have used Quality Pet Care on two occasions now and both times my Doberman has come back so happy and his usual playful self. I was quite nervous about his first stay as he can be quite timid with new people but Brett assured me he settled in really quickly, and I got photo updates to put my mind at ease while I was away. Will continue to use Quality Pet Care for all our holidays away, would recommend them to anyone, and a much nicer alternative to kennels.

My 2 dogs have been away 3 times to Quality Pet Care. They can't wait to go. I have pictures during their stay, and am happier for them to go into a home rather than kennels. Excellent service. Would highly recommend.

*RECOMMEND* Our 10 month old Cockapoo stayed with Tony at Quality Pet Care 9th - 12th May 2019 in Gravesend. We wanted to place our Bailey in a home environment then a kennel, whilst we was away for the first time without our dog Bailey. I must admit it took some getting use to the Quality Pet Care policy. Within their policy of protection we could never meet the carer, have any direct contact with the carer or have any details of the carer other than knowing; carer's name, picture of him outside his house, what town he lives in, his age, and that he was retired. We had to place full trust in Brett and his choice of carer for our dog Bailey. How I am understood, it's to protect their business, carers, insurances and customers. Meanwhile whilst we was away, carer Tony updated Brett daily with pictures of Bailey to send to us (pictures attached is some of the picture sent). It really made us relax and feel rest assured Bailey is ok. Tony even took Bailey for a day out in Knole Park in Sevenoaks. We knew Bailey had 1-1 care. We knew Tony was able to keep Bailey comfortable whilst away with keeping up with his puppy training and routines. When Bailey returned back to us through Brett transporting to and from the carers house. We knew when seeing Bailey he was absolutely fine!! There was no behavior change in him at all!! He was / still a very happy dog! With that response and care whilst we was away, we would use Quality Pet Care again!!

Boo has been with Quality Pet Care 3 times now and has always come back happy, clean, tidy and healthy. She always goes off with Brett fine with no hesitancy. Before we had Boo she wouldn’t even see any human males and now is very relaxed with Brett. This service is wonderful if you have a nervous/sensitive dog way better than Kennels.

We have been using Quality pet care for almost 10 years now and have always been extremely happy with the care our outflow receives. Our dog always seems so excited to see Brett when he is picked up and settles back with us with ease after his time away. We will always use Quality pet care for peace of mind that our dog is well cared for and would highly recommend them.

Our 3 terriers 🥰 Molly the Westie, Bear Bear the Wouzer and Monty Sod the Scottish Terrier. They have been holidaying with Btett/Quality Pet Care for the last 4 years. I can't recommend Brett enough. We get updated photos and information regularly while away, and on their return. We can relax, knowing our pups are in safe hands and loving live ❤️

I have used QPC 3 times now and have a booking for a 4th in the summer. Brilliant service, they came around to our house, met our pets and discussed their routines, likes and dislikes in detail. Both my dogs have loved their stays. Added benefit is the dogs get collected and dropped back to you! Would recommend for anyone looking for a convenient and well-priced dog sitting service!

Our three terriers have been looked after in some ones home from home for the past two years with Quality Pet Care. Spoilt as our three are, we could not bare the thought of them being put in kennels. We know that the person Bret chose to look after our three; will allow them up on the sofa and bed, and give them lots of attention and cuddles, being looked after by someone who is knowledgeable about dogs and their needs; no comparison to being left alone with no human contact in kennels. Our three are only 3 years old and full of energy and mischief! and are used to lots of love and attention. When Bret collected them, they went off with him quite happily; tails wagging and didn't look back, which, as an owner is just what you want. We get updates and photos to show how they are, and we have piece of mind knowing that if there was an emergency and they needed vet care that Bret has his trusted vet nearby. As a family, we would have no hesitation in recommending Bret and Quality Care to look after your dog/dogs. Meaning you can enjoy your break away, safe knowing they will be well looked after. Already like a second home for our dog) When we left Stormy for the first time, we were very worried about how it would be and whether she would be able to cope with the separation from us, but as soon as we came to visit Shirley, everything immediately became clear, the dog will like it here) Before leaving our dog, Shirley invited us to visit so that our dog would have time to get used to the new place, that we would make sure everything was okay and meet her super cute dog Ruby. Shirley sent us pictures of our dog and wrote all the news about our Stormi! We have visited Shirley's 4 times now and know for sure that we will come many, many more times! Thank you Shirley for becoming a second home for our Stoma and a helper for me)

Shirley and her team (Tracy, Daisy and Angela) are absolutely wonderful people and very professional. We have a boy Chow Chow named Patience and he was with Shirley’s care since he was young. There were times that we have last minute requests due to difficulty in our work schedules but Shirley is very approachable and will go out of her way to ensure that Patience is well looked after. We do appreciate it Shirley. Always puts our mind at ease by sending photos and updates throughout the day. We would recommend Shirley and her team to everyone.

Shirley was amazing. From the moment I left my maltipoo with her I felt at ease. On holiday we got daily updates and pictures from her. My little dog looked so happy and settled. Would definitely ask Shirley again to look after her.

We recently brought a puppy and we needed to have someone reliable, friendly and professional who would take care of our new little baby while we were away. We found Shirley and we could not have been happier with the care she provided for our Mario. My dog Amber has stayed with Shirley several times now and I never have any concerns about leaving her. It’s obvious that Shirley really loves dogs and takes excellent care of Amber whilst we are away - the regular updates of what she’s been up to are lovely (and sometimes very funny!) When our original dog boarder had to close her small business during covid, we didn't think we'd be able to find another who would look after our fur baby as if she was her own . Then we found Shirley, who immediately put our minds at rest. She was so friendly and Luna, who can be quite nervous of people, took to her straight away. She showed us all her insurance and registered boarder documents . While Luna is staying with her, she is very good at keeping us updated and providing photos . We'd highly recommend Shirley 🤗

Shirley has been great and set my precious siberian husky with a great dog walker named David. David is so loving to Diesel, really puts Diesel through his paces and leaves me lovely notes regarding the walk they had. Shirley is always available via phone and is always accommodating to last min changes. A great service and people who really do care about the dogs they walk and look after. Such a great service. Shirley and Tracy are always amazing. The care and attention that is given to my cats is fabulous. They make a fuss of the cats, water my plants and gave me as many updates as I would like! Louise and her team have been amazing with our puppy, Winnie. We live in Greenwich, but are often in Chelsfield to stay with family, and they have been so flexible helping out whenever we need daycare / boarding. She loves to go and comes back exhausted, so we are happy! Prices are very reasonable, too. Would highly recommend.

Louise cared for our two pugs while we went on holiday. The dogs loved her could tell by the photos she sent me. I enjoyed my holiday without worry . I highly recommend louise to new clients she was outstanding.

My little guy Archie is a 1 y/o maltipoo and has been going to doggy daycare here twice a week since he was 6mths. He LOVES it. He has a great time with his doggy friends and adores the staff who take great care of him. He is completely exhausted when he gets home from the day's adventures. I also get him groomed here; he's not a fan so it's nice that it's done by people he knows and trusts. Highly recommend Louise and her team!

I was reasonably happy with padifoots. The walkers are very good and they were always happy to provide updates on my dogs walk when I happened to speak with them. Found the owner to be slightly uncommunicative and forthcoming with information or responding to queries but as my dog loved the walkers i was ok with this. Just been told at 10pm on Sunday that I have 5 days to find a new dog walker as she has moved and will no longer be providing a service to dartford, to say I am fuming is an understatement and I know of other dog owners in my area in a similar position. Moving does not happen overnight and the lack of communication is disrespectful to a loyal client of nearly 3 years. I would not recommend them because of this as you never know when the "goal posts" will change

First of all you need to understand that Lily is my baby and as such, only the best will do for her. That's where Padifoot Pet Care came in. My home life circumstances changed and as such I was going to be spending more time away from home. I went along to meet Louise and to 'check the place out' before committing to leaving Lily in their care, all looked perfect and all my questions and concerns were answered without a flicker of hesitation. Initially I was just looking for someone to look after her a couple of days a week here and there while I was at work. I have to admit that the first few times I was very nervous about leaving her, allowing my mind to wander and imagine all kinds of dramatic scenarios...nothing of the sort happened...in fact, Lily loves it there. As soon as we turn the corner to drive up the road, Lily is alert and making whining noises demonstrating how excited she is to be going there. She has the opportunity to socialise with other dogs, she goes out for lovely long walks and runs around freely with Louise and her team having the time of her life. As I said, it was initially for only a day here and there but it has turned in to much more than that and some weeks she is there every day. She has, on occasions, stayed overnight and again, the first couple of times were the hardest (for me, not her) but she was fine. I love it that she is happy to go there as often as she needs to, I love how friendly Louise, her family and team are and how much care they take of not only my girl, but all the dogs in their care. It makes my day when I see photos posted on their FB page and I can see how much fun she is having. If your dog is your baby and you are having any doubts whatsoever, trust me, this is the place to go, they love and you too will be happy with your choice to take them there. I would definitely recommended Padifoot Pet Care to everyone (in fact, I tell most people I meet about how great it is). If you are in any doubt, just have a look at the photos on their page, Lily is the chocolate lab with only one eye...the one loving life and having a ball!

As a Home Board, the dogs get the absolute best treatment you could wish for when compared to standard kennels. The dogs are spoilt with lots of toys to play with, sofas to lay on, a garden to run around in, a wooden agility course within the garden, a paddling pool in the hot summer months... the list goes on! The dogs have such an active day, every day, with multiple walks in the local fields and woods, and non-stop playtime with their doggy friends during day care. Padifoot offer grooming services too if your pooch is in need of a wash, dry and trim. The owner has worked with dogs for over 15 years, so really knows what she is doing with the animals, how to take the best care of them, and how to properly deal with any troublesome situations. We have relied on Padifoot for over 3 years now to watch our two kitties, and we've only had good experiences. My doberman Thor (18 months) has been walking with Jan and Matt everyday (except lock down of course) since late last year and honestly they have been the best thing to happen to us. Thor absolutely adores them and nothing is to much trouble, he gets the very most out of his walks and always comes home well exercised and very happy. They have got him happily socialising with other dogs, have helped fix his recall issue and generally improved his behaviour all round. Very happy with them, we wont be going anywhere.

Matt is amazing! He clearly loves dogs! He took our energetic young beagle in at late notice and treated him as his own! He knew so much about beagles already and he didn’t mind having Oscar! Matt sent us pictures and videos regularly so while we were away on holiday, we had a peace of mind that our dog was in very good hands. I would recommend Ruffles without any hesitation at all! We couldn’t recommend Ruffles highly enough. Matt came to the rescue at very short notice due to a change of plans, to look after our 10 month old puppy and she had the most wonderful time staying here. Matt sent us photos and updates whilst we were away and we knew she was in fantastic hands. They take care of all the dogs as if they were their own, and every time Luna sees Matt and Jan she gets so excited, showing us how comfortable she is with them and how much fun she’s had. We will certainly always use Ruffles for home boarding in the future.

Our very lively, strong and intelligent 2 & a half year old black Labrador Ace stayed with Matt for a week in August for the first time. Matt is a very kind and calm person with a lovely home in a fabulous location. On our meet and greet visit, Ace immediately took to Matt and I could see that he would be very well looked after. His love for dogs is very evident and I was confident that he would care for my boy like his own. Matt sent us regular updates and fantastic photos of their walks and play at home with lots of reassurance that Ace had settled in well. When we picked him up Acecwas very happy, confident and looked well fed and content. We immediately re- booked with Matt to look after Ace for our next trip and would 100% recommend Ruffles. Thanks Matt !

Matt has been brilliant for our Tez! Ruffles has had our puppy regularly for the last 4 months and it has been amazing for his socialisation. Matts house is perfect for dogs with a safe garden and we received photos of our pup every time Matt had him for the day. Would always go back to Ruffles when dog sitting was required.

Could not recommend Ruffles home boarding enough! We went away on holiday for one week and felt completely at ease leaving our little Westie/Yorkie Cross knowing she had her own little holiday at Ruffles. We really enjoyed the daily photo updates of our little dog on her adventures and it really helped us enjoy our holiday knowing she was in such good hands & enjoying herself! Cannot recommend Matt and Ruffles dog boarding enough. Dexter had a great holiday with them. It's the first time I've ever left him with someone other than family and was a bit nervous. Matt put me at ease straight away and sent lots of pupdates so I knew Dexter wasn't missing me too much! He was exhausted due to the amount of fun he'd had. Sophie was referred to me by my current cat sitter (who was unavailable for a last minute request). Sophie helped us at the very last minute to visit our house once a day and fed our 4 hungry cats, clean their tray and make sure they are all ok while we were abroad. She is trustworthy, professional, dependable and always sends pictures and little updates once she has been and she even tries to coax them to play, she has since looked after our cats again at last minute and we are so happy to have met her and so grateful for her help with our 4 cats.

I could not recommend Paws Up Pet Care enough. Sophie provides a reliable, friendly and fun walking service for our two dogs. Her punctuality and great communication means i never have to worry. I don’t know what we’d do without Sophie now, she is a very welcome new friend in our dogs’ lives (and ours!).

I was so lucky to find Sophie right at the last moment when my cattery let me down. Sophie is absolutely amazing with Dougal. He was a nervous puppy walking but Sophie 100% brought him out of his shell and he’s now confident walking with me and with other dogs when out with Sophie. I highly recommend her services as she is so good with Dougal and has a real understanding of dogs. Sophies Dogs is a massive help to me as I work from home and am often on long calls. It’s also a big highlight of Dougal’s day!

Wonderful service from Rebekah and Luke looking after our 2 older cats while we were away. Great communication with photo updates and so easy to book and get hold of. Rebekah and Luke were amazing and looked after our girls well during our time away. The communication was great and we received regular updates which made us feel at ease. We hope to use them in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other pet owners.

Stay Pawsitive Pet Services is our first choice to care for our elderly cat when we go away. He’s got quite a few health issues but Luke is brilliant with him. He (Luke, not our cat!) sends us photos and updates which means we can relax and enjoy our time away with complete peace of mind.

Luke is great with our 2yr old German Shepherd Rex. He has always been so flexible, reliable and trustworthy. It gives us great piece of mind knowing he is well cared for when he is on his walks. Rex loves going out and about off lead. Plus the added bonus of lovely photo updates when they are out having fun on their walks around our local country park. I would highly recommend both Becca and Luke. They are very professional, friendly and accommodating. A* Service.

Had a really positive experience with Kent dog walkers. We were out for New Years Eve and Jay from Kent Dog Walkers visited and walked our darling Reuben. Put his coat on, washed his paws, gave him his breakfast and gave him lots of hugs. My mind was completely at ease. Fully recommend them.

Kent Dog Walker have been brilliant, we’ve used their crèche services and home day care and both have been outstanding. Reliable, flexible, professional and everyone clearly absolutely loves dogs. Jodie and Matt who offer doggy home care have been absolutely fantastic looking after our pup. They’ve taken such good care of her, she’s clearly been incredibly happy and thinks of their house as her second home. I’m pretty sure she actually prefers it to our home! Communication has been excellent, they are both so lovely and they are so reliable which has been a breath of fresh air. I would 100% recommend them to look after your pup.

We looked for a long time to find suitable accommodation for our two Spanish rescues for the times that we go away. Most places we visited were the typical kennels that were outside, offering the dogs a large metal “cell”, with limited daily exercise. We instantly knew this was not for us. We wanted somewhere that was home from home - we also knew that a stranger in our house would not work. After much searching, we came across the KDW doggie hotel. We were instantly blown away. We loved that the dogs would be outside all day and then go to their rooms later. We loved that they would be outside, have human company 24/7 and we loved that if they did not want to go to their rooms alone, they could hang out and sleep in the “common room”. On the occasions that we have left our pups at the hotel, we have gone away, in complete confidence that our pups are being well loved and looked after and having their own holiday! From our initial meet and greet with Jay, he put us and the pups at complete ease - he has been amazing and sends us updates on the pups which is so reassuring when we are away! I could not recommend this place more highly!!!!!!🙂

Charlie was absolutely brilliant with our nervous dog. It was the first time he’s been left with someone he didn’t know already while we went away but Charlie was so flexible with booking him in for some walks and practise stays beforehand so he recognised her first. During our trip I had so many updates and pictures so we always knew he was happy, loved and well looked after. I wouldn’t leave him with anyone else now. Thankyou so much for allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our holiday- and for giving Chase a holiday too, with some social experiences built in! It’s definitely been good for him!

Kent Dog Walker has been a real find! Recommended by a friend's dad. My dog Jack just loves Chloe and she clearly loves him too. He is always so excited when he knows she's coming, so I can't give him too much notice!

We have been using KDW for 3 years now & our dog Bruce absolutely loves his time with them! We use a mix of services that range from walks with Emma (who is so good with him, he always has lots of fun, we receive great pics & updates). If I'm away for longer during the day then he will go to the field with Jay & Co and has a blast running around with his friends. We also use KDW for boarding if we go on holiday, it's a fantastic home from home experience for Bruce and gives me complete peace of mind! I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

We started using Kent Dog Walkers in July , we now use each week , Excellent service always on time , my dogs love Charlie, have used for weekly walks. Boarding over night/weekends . Always kept us updated with photos , always accommodate at short notice, trustworthy, couldn’t be better ,

Charlie and the team were absolutely amazing with my two pups on their first day at day care. The team are so welcoming and it is evident they really care. My two spent a full day at day care and were completely passed out afterwards! It’s a relief to have a local company we trust and will be booking in the future, thank you!

This is by far the best money I have ever invested in my dog’s wellbeing and enrichment. He’s been regularly attending Doggybase Daycare for 6 months and it’s become his favourite place on earth. I fully trust all the staff to take care of his needs whilst there and the effort they go to for all the dogs in their care is above and beyond. My dog has never been so happy.

Hands down, the best place for my dog to go to. She absolutely loves it at day care, howls with excitement when we pull up and charges straight in! The staff are amazing and the fun activities that they all come up with, is just brilliant!

We started to take Nábhla there 3 weeks ago and after being nervous at first (me, not the dog), it’s the best thing we’ve done. She loves being there and it’s great to see the photos of all the dogs enjoying themselves. The team are great and really look after their guests.

Bailey was rejected from another day care as she was too nervous when going for her induction. She wasn't used to socialising with other dogs but is not aggressive. I then took her to Louise at Doggy Base, who wasn't worried about that at all. She now goes 5 days a week and is super comfortable there. I completely trust the entire team here with my baby. The love and care they show for our furbaby is so evident and I know that she is well taken care of. The facilities are great with lots of space to roam. The entire team is also super professional and so welcoming. I cannot recommend Doggy Base enough.

Doggy Base is an amazing place for my dog which we would highly recommend. Our dog has been coming here since it opened and loves it. Facilities are great and I never worry about leaving my dog here. Staff look after him so well, the difference with him going to Doggy Base and other settings is incomparable. All the staff take such good care of him and take time to correct him and to teach him to become a better dog as well as lots cuddles and encouragement. I cannot praise this place high enough. Well done ladies you should be proud of yourselves!

Our miniature Labradoodle, Barley, has been attending Doggy Base twice a week since September. He absolutely loves his time there and we are thrilled that he is so well looked after and loved. He is always tired after a busy day playing, and know how well the day is structured with time to sleep, play etc. Thank you for having him 🐶 …

I took our 8 month old lab, for her induction on Monday. Louise completed our induction & is absolutely amazing so calming & knowledgeable. Baillie our lab is very unsure & non confident around new people / surroundings & dogs. Baillie was instantly relaxed and happy in Louise's company which was fantastic to see. Louise answered all questions with such knowledge she is so professional & you can see she absolutely adores her 4 legged fur friends.. I cannot wait to get Baillie kennel cough boostered so she can start. She is sure going to have fun days with Louise and company. 100% recommended

Absolutely fabulous. Louise is knowledgeable and professional really making me feel confident my dog would flourish. I had a site tour and run through of the structure and how the environment of Doggybase works. I really appreciate the fact I could see the space where my dog would be. Me and my partner are over the moon with how amazing our experience has been, we have no qualms or worries sending our puppa to Doggybase. Can’t recommend them enough and we always look forward to seeing the gorgeous pictures they take of the dogs. It’s so nice and reassuring to see.

Took my parents cat in here, was disappointed that we couldn’t leave anything of hers with her. She’s a nervous thing anyway and a bit of home comfort wouldn’t have hurt. I don’t doubt the care she received was second to none as she came home happy which is why I gave four stars, I just can’t shake the upsetting feeling of leaving her without anything from home.

We did use them for doggy day care ,but due to lack of need they had to stop the home collection service . However we still use their grooming services and have never had any issues . My wife would go mad if anthing happened to her fur babies so she always checks things carefully . Plus they have a small shop on site where you can get dog food and toys etc.

I have used the Nook for my 2 dogs, Gigi & Rocky, several times. The team are always extremely professional, making sure all my paperwork & vaccinations are up to date. My babies are always happy when they come home, and you can tell they have been well looked after by a team that genuinely care about the animals. I never worry about them when I'm away, and will continue to use The Nook as they have my full confidence.

Have been using The Nook Kennels for more years than I can remember. The Staff are great & both my dogs have loved going to stay with them.

Would not recommend. No care and attention to our two cats. Will never come back. If I could rage it 0 star I would.

Our cat Oscar had his 1st stay away from home here and we could not be happier with how it is. He was calm relaxed and made very at home. Staff were friendly and reassuring as we had not left him anywhere in the nearly 10 yrs we have had him so we were very anxious. The staff were very good with us. Thank you very much

We have booked our pet in for next year. Staff are very professional, looking forward to taking our pet there.

Chose to use The Nook as it had the better reviews in the area but I wouldn’t take my cat back here. The place seemed alright, but the staff have put me off, not very welcoming, they’re straight to the point and don’t really tell you much. On drop off, after we did any paperwork etc. my cat was just kind of taken but I didn’t get a ‘thank you, bye’ or anything, just walked off and that was it, so I guess it was time to leave. When picking up, I didn’t get any feedback on how he’d been, whether he’d been eating. When asking about how he’d been I just got told ‘he’s cute’ which doesn’t really tell me anything. When entering the office it was just a case of taking the rest of my money and bye. Wouldn’t recommend The Nook to friends or family

As a regular happy customer for over 5 years I was utterly disgusted a month ago when I put my cat in the Nook for 9 days for a holiday The night before leaving I was v unwell an had to spend the night in hospital and having to cancel a much needed holiday I was up all night and got home at 5 am My cousin Collected my cat at 1 pm and tragically only 5 hours later he was hit by a car and I had to race to the vets very unwell with my beautiful boy and sadly put him to sleep . Our pets are our family members . I lost my parents and this little cat was my anchor - always there after a hard day caring I went to the cattery a day later visibly distressed still unwell but in order to let the people know , I thought they may care - silly me! I needed to cancel a December booking I had The lady I had always dealt with was busy with a customer and I really needed to get out of there as I was upset . I spoke to a man I had never seen before and said cancel the future booking and explained the awful incident I just asked if there was any money to come back as I had paid 9 days and my cat was there 24 hours. I really wasn’t bothered because I always pay up front and dont even know the daily rate - it is not important my animals care it the priority. However most businesses would make a gesture of goodwill under the exceptional circumstances I told him what had happened and just asked - he had no compassion at all and was very indifferent and just said no - I said even under the awful circumstances-?? And he said “Well if you hadn’t had him collected it wouldn’t have happened would it “ !! I now am concerned that my cat may not have been treated in a cari g way The staff are curt dismissive - it’s a business I left sobbing and felt like ending it Words are powerful and if you are in the business of cari h in any way Animals People kids then just treat as you would want your family treated We blame ourselves with what if this what if and for him the owner to say such an awful disgusting callous thing is unforgivable I felt better this week and felt I needed to speak to the Nook and ask why they felt it was ok to say that and get an apology as a minimum I spoke to a guy not the owner who was utterly defensive had no idea how to deal with a complaint I was told that I took it the wrong way !!! I was told that he was joking and didn’t mean it !!! I mentioned if I had arrived with a man he would have been pulled up - the guy said yeah and you probably would have got an apology!!! In what World is there a joke In blaming someone for the death of their pet? As a nurse would I say something like that to a patients relative who lost their mother Father? No I would be struck off . Just to finish NO APOLOGY NO REMORSE, NO NOTHING I will never refer another dog or put any of my animals anywhere near these people Callous uncaring and unapologetic Be aware!

This is the first time we’ve used a kennel - opting to leave our Springer with either a friend or dog boarder previously. Not sure what we expected but while staff engagement was cordial it was hardly welcoming. All we had to go on was that my parents had used the Nook for their dog for one night just before Christmas - and all seemed fine. . When we dropped our dog off on the Sunday a guy just came right up to him quite fast with a lead - no friendly hello or anything - literally looped the lead over the head and walked him away. Our dog was a little unnerved by that as were we. Within a matter of minutes the guy was back in reception - so no time at all spent settling in from what we could see. We messaged during the week to make sure he was ok and all we got back was a three word yes all good. As we had booked him in for a groom on his last day we were told not to arrive before 3pm. We were only coming from Center Parcs Woburn and had allowed 3 hours to do a journey half that. We were hit by several accidents and it was touch and go whether we would make it by 5pm - we emailed and phoned around 3:30pm and we were told there was no leeway and that they shut at 5pm. If we missed this time it would need to be the following morning - we live in SW London. Luckily my elderly mum was able to get our dog - she was helped with getting him into her car on request. Our dog had indeed been groomed but I would say he was more butchered - in truth you would get a better one at Pets at Home. He was not hygiene shaved either which we had requested. My wife has just spent the last hour of so this evening trying to tidy him up a bit better. Clearly lots of people seem happy with the Nook and maybe our expectations were possibly a little too high as it was a kennel and more a lesson to ourselves. We would probably have been a bit happier had he been welcomed better - I would not say we’re overly precious pet owners either.
