Yarra valley has taken care of our dogs Akira and Manny like their own and diligently posted photos of playtime and their health parameters on the pet portal and also very patiently answered our daily calls to them! Their regular updates and the fact that they weigh pets every alternate day gives me great confidence that they're being well taken care of. Our pups also came back smelling great and feeling soft after a bath just the day before we had to pick them up. They always come back happy and looking healthy from yarra valley pet resort

My precious dogs were so diligently and professionally cared for at Yarra Valley Pet Resort. Our Australian Bulldog is full of " personality" and the staff just took his exuberance in their stride..and not only that they enjoyed his company. That's the sign of true animals carers doing what they do best. The booking process was clear and the staff reaponded quickly whenever I had a query. We will come back to Yarra Valley Pet Resort again and again.

I could not recommend Yarra Valley Pet Resort enough! I met someone along the Warrandyte river who said there isn't anyone else they would trust their dog with. I can 100% confirm that and could not agree more. They have been a God send when Thaison has needed care. He has been going since he was a puppy. Andrea and her team are amazing and I can rest assured knowing he is in excellent hands and is well looked after and cared for. Thaison loves going to the resort and I get the feeling he does not want to leave sometimes. I have no doubt he has the best time there. The prices are excellent too. So grateful to the team for looking after my baby!

Andrea and the team at Yarra Valley Pet Resort are wonderful. They go to great lengths to make sure every dog’s needs are met. Even the fussy little ones like mine. She’s been going there for seven years now. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to travel much. I can leave her there with great peace of mind knowing that she’ll be very well cared for. The team at Yarra Valley Pet Resort are a cut above other providers: kind, caring, responsive, thoughtful and attentive. They ensured that the dietary requirements for my dog was adhered to, sent interim updates on how my dog was settling in and socialising, thought ahead and gave him a bath a day before I was due to collect him, corresponded with me and my family in a timely way and took the best care of him. I had complete peace of mind that he was receiving the best care while I was overseas and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or rebook. The team offer terrific value for money in comparison to other providers (who should probably lift their game). Thanks Yarra valley pet resort! We’ll see you again. We have been loyal customers for many years and our dogs have loved going there. However due to an ownership change recently the place is an absolute shambles. The communication is absolutely horrendous, their price increase is outrageous. We went on holiday for over 3 weeks in August and for our 2 babies to be in a resort room was $82 a day (which is fantastic). We had our dogs booked in again for our wedding last week and they tried telling us that they had no booking at all (even though I had an email saying they were) then tried to tell us their new price was $185 a day for both dogs??? They’re absolutely kidding themselves! Absolute Criminals! Not only there is no early checkout, but if you pic your dogs up before 10:30am they still want to rip you off for the whole day as you have to pay upfront. We have found another beautiful place that has put our needs and our puppies needs before their wallet so we will no longer be going back! Good luck for the future. You will need it.

Ruebin & Amara recently stayed at The Yarra Vally pet resort they have stayed there 5 times always happy. They were very well looked after and we are taking them back for another stay soon.Everyone at the resort was great.

YVPR have looked after Frankie for the past 3 years, and we feel so comfortable knowing she's in the care of Andrea and the team when we're away. After Frankie was attacked by two big dogs at our home, we were terrified about letting her interact with dogs again. However, the team have made her feel so safe during all of her previous stays, that she can happily still go and run around with the other little dogs and we can relax in the knowledge that she's being cared for so lovingly and still getting to socialise ☺️.

I've left my dog with the Yarra Valley Pet Resort multiple times and have always had a great experience. They genuinely care about her and have always had nice things to say about her when checking out. It's always hard to leave my fur-baby, but I feel she is in safe hands here. Highly recommended.

The Pet Nanny has been walking Hank since he was a puppy and he's always loved the long walks he's had with Adam & co. The Pet Nanny has always been wonderfully reliable and happy to jump in to last minute requests as things shift in our days. Highly recommend them for your furry friends.

My dog Toby cavoodle is loving Adam the Pet Nanny! He is so excited to see him they have a really good connection. Adam and the rest of the Pet Nanny team are fantastic with our Border Collie Ivy. They are professional, friendly and we feel very comfortable leaving her with them when we are not at home. They take her for walks, plays with her and keep her company - needless to say she’s a big fan too and we would absolutely recommend 😊

We have had Adam walk our dog Nick for nearly seven years. He has always been reliable, Nick looks forward to his walks with Adam and Adam shows genuine affection towards Nick. We love his work and would always recommend him.

We have been issuing the Pet nanny’s services mostly daily 1 hour morning dog walks. Adam is the best dog walker/ sitter we have ever had. He is so knowledgeable, punctual and has the best rapport with our Kelpie Jett. Jett is so excited when he sees Adam at the door. Highly recommend The Pet nanny’s services.

I signed Bob up for Kip's "Board & Train" program as I was going away, and wanted Bob to learn basic dog manners (not pulling towards other dogs/not pulling on the leash during walks). The staff at Kip are respectable, patient, and truly give all the love and attention your pooch deserves. Kip Homestead is located on a massive space, so there are plenty opportunities for your dog to learn new tricks and run around with some new friends (dogs are protected from each other by a fence). Olivia was assigned as Bob's trainer; she is incredible and our dog Bob absolutely loves her. I've seen her with other dogs too from the other videos on Kip, and it's the same with them. She's knowledgeable, confident, and just knows how to work with dogs (and people). I appreciated all the regular updates about Bob and his progress! And I also want to thank Olivia for the thorough handover at the end of the program to ensure that I'm able to continue the same level of training at home. Highly recommend the Board & Train program to anyone who wants help to improve their dog's overall behaviour/want somewhere safe to board their dog while going away. I've already recommended this place to all of my friends with dogs and I'm excited to see their pooch's progress. I'll be sending Bob here next time I go away (and I'm sure he'll be excited to be back at Kip Homestead)!

We’ve seen huge improvements in Dirks reactivity and general manners since we picked him up from his board and train program. His trainer Catherine provided lots of updates over the three weeks to keep us at ease and provided comprehensive guidance at the handover session so that we can continue his training at home. We will definitely bring Dirk back in for more top up sessions in future.

“Exceptional Training Experience with Kip Stay Homestead!” I can’t recommend Kip Stay Homestead enough! Our black lab, Charlie, recently completed their 21-day training program, and the results are beyond amazing. Olivia worked wonders with him—Charlie is now so much calmer and significantly less reactive to his environment. One of the most noticeable improvements is his loose leash walking—it’s like night and day. Seeing this new version of Charlie has made every penny spent on the program absolutely worth it. We know the work doesn’t stop here, but Olivia gave us an extensive and thorough handover, ensuring both my boyfriend and I feel confident in maintaining Charlie’s progress at home. Kip Stay Homestead has truly transformed our life with Charlie. If you’re considering training for your dog, this is the place to go! Our handsome Smooth Collie, Hugo, spent 3 weeks with David, the master of working dogs. From the moment we met David, he was confident and straightforward about what might be going on in our pup’s tiny head, based on his working breed heritage. We were immediately relieved, knowing that Hugo would be in good hands during our trip. While Hugo already has good manners and a gentle soul, he had been showing some unwanted reactivity towards strange/unfamiliar things/people. David and the team at Kip listened to our concerns, worked with Hugo, and cleared up some misunderstandings we had about his alert barking. Hugo is now handling new situations much better, because we, as owners, understand what he needs in order to manage his vigilant nature. The handover 1:1 session was very helpful, as was the online course, which I can revisit at any time. David also sent some additional information afterward, which showed the care and attention Hugo received during his stay. While the training wasn’t 100% force-free so that I can’t say it’s concurrent as in trend, we genuinely appreciated the efforts and care Hugo received during his time there. From the pupdates we received irregularly, we could tell Hugo was comfortable, with his tail wagging happily to the right. Overall Hugo will be going back to Kip Homestead whenever we can't take him with us.

We left our 2yo dog reactive Goldie with Cathrine for 3 weeks in the board and train program. We went in not expecting miracles, but to help move along in handling our girl day to day, understanding how to approach situations out of our control and getting her better on leash. It’s honestly night and day to when we dropped her off. Cathrine was very real with us, which we appreciated, that our girl just isn’t a dog’s dog. And likely never will be, but that’s ok. She has helped her walk on leash so much better to the point where, now a few weeks after picking her up, we can now go for 20 - 30 minute street walks without anxiety of what to do if another dog passes by. She even has got to the point of sniffing another dog for a few seconds and not showing aggression / fear. We know that she won’t ever be a dog who can be off leash and play with other dogs, but we have been blown away by the progress she made and tips in our toolkit to continue these good behaviours. Our regret is not finding Kip earlier in her life and leaving her with you guys. We loved the update videos and they provided us lots of laughs and happiness while away from her for a few weeks. We will definitely bring her for another stay at board and train when we are away next!!

My 6 year old GSD had her first stay over the weekend, and we couldn't be happier! She has had a few issues in the past with fear aggression and they addressed her care very diligently, the updates we received daily were very reassuring and when we picked her up today she was so happy and looked beautiful! She had no issues, and we are so impressed with Kip and can't wait for our puppy to have her next stay 😊 it's a bit on the pricier side, but well worth it!

Our dog Coco recently stayed here for 3 weeks while we were away and we honestly couldn’t be happier. From the very first moment, it’s obvious how much the team at Kip genuinely love and care about the dogs. We looked forward to the daily updates and photos to let us know how she was going which made it so much easier to be away (especially for our kids!). We booked daily bushwalks and a couple of training sessions for her stay and she was freshly bathed when we picked her up. Our only concern was that she wouldn’t want to come home ☺️ thank you so much to the team for taking such good care of our girl.

I recently enrolled my Pomeranian puppy, Little Foot, in the board and train program at Kip, and the experience exceeded all my expectations. David, our trainer, was absolutely incredible. His expertise, patience, and genuine love for animals were evident from the start. He took the time to understand Little Foot's unique personality and tailored the training to suit his needs. Throughout the program, David provided regular updates and insights, ensuring I felt confident and informed about Little Foot's progress. Little Foot has returned full of joy and is now more obedient, calm, and confident. The techniques David used were not only effective but also gentle and compassionate, which was very important to us. He taught Little Foot essential commands and addressed specific behavioral issues, making our day to day life much smoother and more enjoyable in the long run. I am beyond grateful for David's dedication and the comprehensive care Little Foot received at Kip.I wholeheartedly recommend the board and train program to anyone looking to improve their pet's behaviour and to overall give their furry babies a good little holiday. Our Violet spent 3 weeks at Kip with Olivia and we were absolutely blown away with how far she came in 3 weeks. The regular updates of Vi became a bit of a weekly highlight for us to see her smiling and clearly having a great time. Olivia was honestly brilliant, we couldn't have asked for anything more, our pup has come back far less anxious, far more engaged and the handover session has made us feel like we can continue on the great work that Olivia started. We could not recommend both Kip and Olivia any higher!!

Cannot thank David and the team at Kip enough. Eldin recently came in for the Board and train program as he was reactive with other dogs and became hard for me to control when his emotional state was so high. The difference from drop off to pick up was absolutely amazing. I also now have the confidence to continue the training with the abundance of information I have to refer to. The staff are all lovely and the grounds are spectacular. Highly recommended. And as you can see, the smile on Eldins face says it all.

I highly recommend this cattery! Sam is incredibly nice and genuinely cares for the cats. The facility is clean and well-maintained, providing a safe and comfortable environment. She sent us a photo and a short video of our Boy. When we returned we found Boy happy and well-looked after. We feel at ease knowing our cat is in such good hands. Thank you Sam!

My 3 fur babies Oreo, Cleo and Luna have had a few stays now at Holly Lodge Boarding Cattery both for long and short stays and I wouldn’t leave them anywhere else. Sam and a Greg are absolutely amazing in their love, care and attention of all the gorgeous cats in their care. The enclosures are roomy, clean and well maintained. So many things to climb, hidey holes and comfy furniture, calming music and toys to play with, my cats love all the attention in their home away from home. I don’t have to worry about them when away as I know they are in the best care. I would definitely recommend this wonderful place for your fur babies when traveling. Thank you Sam and Greg! 😻🐾❤️

Our old boy was cared for and looked after by Sam at their wonderfully comfortable cattery. They even found a new favourite food for him. Highly recommended, especially for cats that need that little bit of extra care.

My furbabies Mishka & Ziggy just stayed in Holly Lodge for 2 weeks, I was hesitant to leave my 15 year old cat Mishka in a cattery as she had never been in one before but I felt very comfortable with Sam. I couldn't recommend her highly enough, she sent video's of my cats which reassured me that they were doing well. I wouldn't hesitate to leave them there again. Thank you again Sam 😊😊🐾🐾🐱🐈

Steph & Rennai took wonderful care of my 2 senior boys, one of which is diabetic. They were looked after 100%, with lots of feedback. I was particularly anxious about leaving them for their 1st ever stay in a cattery, especially for Simmy my diabetic, but they were wonderful and made me feel very comfortable leaving them in their care. I had never ever boarded my 12yr old cat and was extremely apprehensive. I'd looked at other boarding places and felt sick at the thought of leaving her. Steph was amazing in making me feel comfortable leaving my cat at Holly Lodge Cattery. It was the perfect choice for me and the cat and I couldn't be more grateful. Our two border collies, Bob and Mabel, loved their 3 week holiday with Jarrod and Ashlee at Upper Yarra Boarding Kennels. This was the second time they have bordered here recently and both times they have come back happy, healthy and fluffy! Excellent grooming from Jarrod is added benefit! Border collies can be sensitive and highly strung but our guys have come back as though they’ve been in a dog spa for the last three weeks - they are the ones who’ve been on holidays! Thanks especially for the flexibility around the change in pick up dates. Just a breeze and it was great to know our fellas were in such safe hands with the delay. Can’t recommend highly enough

We were met by Jarrad who straight away gave us a great sense of confidence. Our border collie, who incidentally hates any form of washing, was immediately relaxed. We picked him up a few hours later and he was well groomed, happy and obviously well looked after.

Jarrod is so lovely and his compassion and caring for animals really shines through.My little Spoodle always comes home looking like a little princess and she gets treated like one too.Highly recommend for a professional service.

It was the first time I had taken my two small dogs to Jarrod, but they seemed unphased by the change. Not only did they look very smart after the groom, but Jarrod discovered a tumour on Lulu's neck. My vet has been alerted to it. I'll definitely be back!

Had such a wonderful experience with Jarrod, my German shepherd received such excellent care and has never looked more handsome and feels and smells like a dream. I highly recommend Jarrod to anyone looking for a friendly groomer that wants amazing results.

We have now had two experiences with Upper Yarra Boarding Kennels and they have both been fantastic. I have two anxious border collies and I was very apprehensive about putting them in a kennel. Toby and Bella stayed for 10 days in January and the service was excellent. The dogs came home happy and in good condition, and the communication throughout the stay was wonderful, responding in a timely manner to all my enquiries about how they were going. We recently had both dogs groomed here too. Jarrod was wonderful and very patient with Toby who had never been groomed before due to the anxiety and reactivity. He took his time and was able to successfully groom Toby. We will absolutely be taking the dogs back for a groom and to stay at the boarding kennel.

We picked up our darling Xivu today after his first holiday away from us. He had a wonderful time at Upper Yarra Boarding Kennel, and was clearly very well looked after. The surroundings are gorgeous, and the owners clearly love what they do. Communication between the owners and us while we were on holiday was excellent, and we even got a beautiful Christmas card of our sweet pup on Christmas Day! Will definitely return. Highly recommend - 5 stars!

Sam is an absolute angel of a nanny. One of our three precious kitties happened to pass away while we were abroad and she navigated the whole situation with grace, compassion, pragmatism, and so much kindness. She is attentive, detail-oriented, and her love for and knowledge about cats left us feeling confident and secure. Our kitties adored her and she took a great deal of time, not just feeding them, grooming, and cleaning their litter daily, but giving them lots of attention and affection every time she visited. She kept us posted with pictures and updates while we were away, which was especially appreciated as we went through the very difficult circumstances of grieving one of our beloved pets from the other side of the world. She is eminently trustworthy, communicative, and values every cat she meets equally, regardless of needs or temperament. We will never use anyone but Sam and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

Amazing is an understatement! Informed me of arrival and departure from the house letting me know updates on each animal, inc chickens, lizard and cats! Everyone was well catered for and cared for ad if they were her own! Thank you again!

My two kitty’s are my babies and I’m EXTREMELY fussy when it comes to their care. Sam has been our vet nurse for nearly 20 years and knowing she is visiting them and loving them in their own home gives me utmost peace when I am away. Not only do they make sure your pet is fed and watered but go above and beyond in taking the time to make sure that they receive the love and attention they you would normally give them. I just picked Evie up yesterday, and I couldn’t be happier with the transformation! It was clear that both girls were treated with love and attention, and the skills they gained are priceless. Honestly, every penny spent was worth it. The support from the Alpha team has been incredible. They are always available to answer my questions and guide me through the process. It’s such a relief to know that I can reach out to them anytime for help or advice. Disgusted at this place. My dog was here for approximately 10 weeks and upon our return was a completely different dog. I cannot believe how bad my dog was made to be. Basically, he didn’t agree with their “training”, and I use the term extremely loosely, methods. So, instead of him improving, he got 10 times worse and now listens to nothing. Honestly this place made me actually dislike my dog, and I feel sick for even thinking it, let alone writing it on a public forum. You can read the other reviews to see exactly what this place does. Under fed, dirty and very unhappy. Showing us how to continue their training, and choking our dog to the point of vomiting, we knew something was wrong. 12 months later and our dog is so out of control I regret spending one cent at this place, let alone the 1000s we paid for the best training Victoria has to offer. This place genuinely should be shut down. AVOID AT ABSOLUTELY ALL COSTS. Better alternatives: TRAINING = get a homeless guy with a tennis ball, more competent BOARDING = Tie your dog to a tree and hope for the best. Likely a better outcome than leaving your best friend here. Disgusting place.

I brought my 1.5-year-old friendly pup for a few nights, and when I came to pick her up, she was shivering and covered in her piss in a filthy kennel. The staff told me she had been aggressive (which she had never been before), and they couldn't approach her. I feel terrible about the experience she had there. As a person who worked with many dogs in the past, it is more likely that the staff has been aggressive with her. If you love your dog, stay away from this place.

We couldn't rate them higher. Our rescue dog was problematic, displaying many non desirable behaviours. He just completed the 20 day boarding camp and whilst it was an investment, it was money well spent. Amy completed the most thorough handover. Patch has only been home a day and already is behaving significantly better and you can tell that so much work has been done. We couldn't be more grateful.

We have had the greatest experience with alpha and cannot recommend them highly enough for training and boarding. Our dogs have been completely different dogs in the best way since the training program and now we can communicate with them effectively and our relationship is so much stronger. The boarding has been the best experience as well and we frequently leave our dogs with them for 2 weeks to a month at a time. The people who work there are always lovely and caring towards the dogs and very friendly customer service. The team really understand dog behaviour and how to manage it. I have felt uneasy leaving my dogs at every other boarding kennel and have had bad experiences in the past - never with alpha. My mind is always at ease and I know that the dogs are being taken care of. Max and Koda (our dogs) are always so excited to turn up at alpha and always leave happy and healthy. Thank you alpha team for everything you do!

If you have any issues with behaviour of your dog, or you just want some guidance as to how to train your dog - bring them here. This company is incredibly professional, easy to deal with and looked after our dog amazingly - can't recommend their 21 day bootcamp program enough. We now have the tools we need to keep progressing with our beautiful dog. She was happy to see us, bathed and ready to go. The handover was incredibly thorough and easy to understand. The establishment itself was clean and well organised.

Highly recommended Alpha for both boarding and obedience training. Staff are very knowledgeable and caring about our dogs :)

They do not tell you in advance that they will put on a choke chain for their time in the facility. Seeing how they treated our puppy it was abuse. They will not show you the training methods before you drop them off and it’s different to the training Alpha do at the Knox site. When we picked up our dog and went through the training it was brutal. They put a plate of dog treats under his face, naturally he sniffed and wanted to eat them. He was picked up by the choker chain and bounced around in a circle. Also hitting a coke bottle full of rocks beside his head. We left them 14kg’s of meat to feed the dog over 21 days. They gave back 10 kgs. He was returned severely underweight, dirty (although we paid for a wash) and traumatised. We were told that they did not let him out of his pen to run around for the 21 days as when they were choking him he would try to protect himself and fight back. They repeatedly said that you have to break a dogs Will to make sure it will not attack a child?? What about friendly puppy’s?

We left our dogs here for 6 days. They both came back with skin infections and really anxious. Our dogs couldn't wait to get out of there and the lady said our boy was growling at the trainer which he's never done before which makes me think they weren't treated well. I'm pretty sure they weren't walked the whole time because their nails looked like they'd both been scratching them on the walls to get out. They were worn down to the quick and split. Our boy had a big circle rash on his back and hair missing. They also said our boy needed more training before he could come back even though they were the ones who initially trained him, if you can't handle a dog that is mostly good but sometimes stubborn then you aren't very good trainers. I would never leave my dogs here again.

Had our dog in for boarding school. Picked up and he has been trained well, great handover to train us, and a clean and orderly kennel. No loud barking when walking around, and clearly a group that care about dogs.
