Easy to schedule. Communication was good. The contract left me wondering if I wanted to use this location but I have had no problems. I wish they had more times for pick up and drop off. I really liked that my dog had constant indoor outdoor access so it could go potty whenever he needed to. This was a huge plus for me.

Our dog Mischa loves boarding there,! We have never had any issues and we know that Mischa is in good hands. Thank you!

I have started obedience training with my insubordinate puppy. They are so patient with the animals and the owners. I will update this post with more info when trying is finished. So we have graduated and I will say this class the the best idea my puppy ever had. I was trained by professionals in a very fun but learned environment. Hands on all the time, group effort and individual coaching as well. They let me know when I didn't quite have the proper training etiquette, and showed me what I needed to do to perfect it. All constructive teaching. The classes are small enough no one is left behind. The cost was very reasonable and for the handouts (homework), demonstrations and hands on training you get, well worth it. I would recommend any body who would like to see their dog be the kind of dog we all want, to take this course. There is no magic wand, you have to put in the work and continue to put in the work after the class is over. If you are willing to put forth the effort, you will succeed. Look into it, Julie and Shannon are remarkable and very knowledgeable.

It was the 1st experience for 2 of our 3 dogs we brought in. They seemed to have been ok with their stay for the 3 days we were out of town. Everyone was very nice and a pleasure to work with. We will use them again in the future.

We dropped off our lab, Aspen, for her first ever boarding experience and we are extremely happy with the care she received! We picked her up after a 5 day stay and I’m not sure she wanted to leave! I’m not sure what their secret it because she’s been sleeping for hours after getting home. Will definitely be taking her back!

Our pups enjoy their time with these wonderful folks. They get daily walks and brush, and even a bath before they come home. We will definitely be returning in the future when the need arises.

We absolutely loved their training classes. We just picked our dog up from boarding and are pleased. They are very flexible and great to work with. Had some last minute vacation plan changes and they responded quickly to emails and didn't mind making changes.

Beyond happy with the boarding services. My pup was here for several days, I could tell she was well taken care of, not sure she was ready to go home when I picked her up. Would recommend highly, I think my dog had a better vacation than I did.

They simply are the best. Our dog loves going there so much he actually starts to cry as soon as we turn the corner to arrive because he can't wait to see the other dogs and play play play play. It's so clean and the staff are awesome. Thanks!

I would not recommend taking elderly dogs here to get groomed. This was a little while back, but I decided to come here today to say what needs to be said. I have a 15-year-old skapeek who is completely deaf, has bad vision, and has hip issues. The last time I brought him here, I got nothing but complaints about how bad his coat was when it wasn't even bad, then was told I needed to take care of my dog or not have one at all. I was also told he had flees behind his ears when it was clearly just dry skin; then they tried selling me an expensive flee collar. Not to mention, I had to pay close to $200 for each groom because of "how many knots" and because "he wasn't listening," even after stating he was deaf. It would also take LITERALLY 6 hours to groom him. You read that right, SIX. When I groom him myself, it only takes maybe 2 hours. Every single time I picked him up, it was nothing but complaints and overpricing. And the grooming job was very choppy. I get it if there are a lot of other pets, but this is ridiculous. I would even get text messages about complaints while he was being groomed, all about things I had already mentioned when I dropped him off. Do not recommend for senior dogs.

We were nervous leaving our dogs for the first time but it ended up being the best decision possible. They got excellent attention and exercise and were so calm when I picked them up. Now we will happily take our dogs here any time we go on a trip knowing everyone is having a good time.

Our dog always loves going to play with her friends. Pet Haven has nice sized indoor kennels with direct access to the outdoors. They also have a very large fenced in area for the dogs to run.

This was my 1st time taking my fur baby in. She got a de-shed bath, nails and some fur trim. They were great with her! Well definitely be going back in a few months and suggesting then to anyone who is looking!!!

Great drop off boarding experience. We did the by appt drop off, they were right on time as scheduled and ready to take in our dogs for a five night stay. Owners/staff were very friendly and helpful.

This place is fine I think…major points off for not being able to reach anyone/get a response to my message over the weekend. I accidentally left his harness on (that he hates) and still to this day I have no idea how long he had to wear it despite my calling several times and emailing. I guess I assumed I’d get a response. When they say your dog’s bedding might come back in less than clean condition and/or your dog may appear to be sick after returning home, they aren’t kidding. I wonder how often this happens. I understand that you can’t blame them for the stress level of your dog, but ours definitely had diarrhea/leaking overnight both apparently at Black Oak and after his stay. Never been a major problem before (his bed was not terribly clean when I brought it but it was worse when we picked him up). I’m happy that he had a place to stay at the last minute and was able to play and hang out with other dogs. The staff are very friendly. So overall I don’t think it was a terrible experience. But it irks me that I have no idea what actually went on. Maybe I’m just too picky but I think we will try harder to get an in-home dog sitter next time.

I decided to board my 7 month old puppy here, due to his regular sitter being completed booked. I was a little concerned before hand because every single time I called their office number DURING office hours no one ever picked up. I left messages as well and never got a call back. The quickest way to get them to reply is through email. When I got there to drop him off for the weekend the staff was very nice. I booked him a suite with a window, it was a very good size. When it was time for me to pick him up the staff member gave me his stuff and his harness in a plastic bag. I did not look at the harness until I got home to put it on my dog. I pulled the harness out of the bag and it was TORN TO PIECES. His brand new harness, that is not even a week old was completely torn apart. I am VERY upset because the staff member didn't bother to tell me what happened to it or even let me know that it was torn apart. I will NOT be boarding my dog here again due to their negligence.

It is great to have a trusted option for pet-care. I reluctantly made the choice to board my dog here while my entire immediate family went on vacation and was very pleased with my experience. The option to have a small kennel to a large "suite" with a window view (the latter of which I chose) is great for those with different spending abilities. The other options such as extra walks and baths are also available. Staff is friendly and hours for pickup/drop-off are manageable. Only downside is the location is on a few miles of gravel and no live webcams to watch our loved-ones.

By far the best boarding that we have used. They are great with the animals and the staff are informative and friendly! They are definitely our go to kennel.

We've been boarding at Grandma's House for a couple years now and have had a great experience! Dogs have ample room to stretch and comfortable space to rest (not just a kennel). They are always happy to go when we drop them off, unlike the vet. When we pick them up they are always exhausted from play, and do not smell like they have been at a "group home." What a wonderful place! Took our puppy there for the first time (at any daycare) last week and she had a great time. Madison was so welcoming and helpful that we intend to frequent Grandma's House in the future!

We've been using this daycare for over a year now and recommend them to everyone we know. They are so great with our stubborn husky mix. He has gone to both daycare and boarded twice. They communicate well.

This place is wonderful! The staff was friendly and professional! He didn't come home hoarse. My dog usually comes back home hoarse from barking at another place. He loved it there so much that he didn't immediately come to us when we picked him up!. He was very happy there, which is great! Highly recommend!

Grandma's House is our "go to" for our dog's needs. The Facebook page is great. They made sure our pup had special care and was separated from the rest of the pups while still in heat. She still had playtime with select animals. Very impressed!!

My almost two-year-old little Jack Russell female has never really been around a whole bunch of other dogs. She goes everywhere with me. Thinking it's time she gets to know other dogs so she quits barking all the time we walking at them. These wonderful people out there really know how to handle the dogs and fulfill all their needs. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone for boarding or for just babysitting for the day. The dogs seem to have a lot of fun and my little girl I was a whole lot different coming home. It really lifted her spirits. I know she can hardly wait to go back there.

I highly recommend this place! Brenda and her staff have taken care of our dogs for many years and I have appreciated always knowing our dogs are receiving excellent care with boarding and grooming~ no other place I would trust with my dogs! When our family has been on trips, Brenda has been awesome with communication when caring for our dogs, by taking time to send videos and text messages with updates on how the dogs are doing. In addition, recently one of our dogs passed away from an illness, and I received a beautiful card and memorial gift in the mail from Butler’s Charcoal Ridge in memory of our dog Louie, which I will treasure forever. Clearly, Brenda and her staff go above and beyond and our family is grateful for their services ♥️

BCR is an awesome organization! The daycare, grooming and boarding is far superior to any of my past providers! Brenda and staff genuinely care for my dog and me! I never worry when my baby is with them! Also, when my dog lays and waits patiently every morning to go to “School”, and when it’s time jumps around and jumps in the car you know your dog loves her days there!

Brenda and her staff are wonderful! The first time we used them for boarding, it was for our older dog, and he had never been boarded before, so he was very scared. I didn't want to leave him because I felt so bad. Being an overprotective dog mom, I messaged Brenda and she sent me pictures of how he had settled in and was napping on his cot. She reassured me, and made sure he was ok. My youngest attends daycare and absolutely loves it, and also gets grooming services there, and always looks amazing after. We also love their dog food, and the dogs love it too. After having tummy trouble with some other food, we switched to theirs and they've done wonderful with it. We also utilized their obedience classes, and learned so much. They care about animals and if you spend any time talking to Brenda and her staff, you will wholeheartedly know that is the case.

My black lab Quinn goes to butler's for deshedding baths. I love them! She's always so clean! She has a soft coat and smells much better! And it really cuts down on the shedding!!😃 …

Requested 2 nights. Had to pay 50% deposit. In a text, the owner said I could drop off any time after 7 am. I said I'd drop off at 9 am. I got there about 10 minutes after 9 and no one was there. I called and emailed multiple times with no response. I had to take my dog with because I had no one to watch him. I'm glad I didn't have a flight or somewhere where I could'nt have dogs! Owner didn't respond till later that night. Refused to give deposit back, even though I had come to drop the dog off at the allowed time (anytime after 7 am), stating it was because I was 10 minutes later than 9 am. If you want to take the chance that they'll be there, and pay 50% down with no chance of getting it back if something happens, it may be a good place? But I guess we'll never know, because we received no service, yet had to pay for it. Poor business strategy. I'll never (attempt to) use them again

Took Waylon to their obedience class. Very knowledgeable and helpful with the training. Hands on. Enjoy going to the classes and learning what it takes to have a well behaved dog. Couldn't even take a walk without Waylon pulling on the leash , getting better now. He will walk along side me alot better than before. Used to jump and pull and struggle to get loose , a tug on his leash now helps calm him down. A work in progress. Well worth taking the class.

When I was all out of options to be able to take Ace to daycare on most days due to a conflict with my work schedule and the daycare hours, Brenda made some adjustments so now he can spend more time with his friends. Just look how happy he is ❤️ thank you for being amazing!

Best grooming and boarding place I know! The staff is so friendly and helpful! We boarded my two labs for 11 days when we went to Disney and while we were gone we would get updates of how they were doing and pictures sent to us! Definitely highly recommend Brenda and her staff! I would 100% recommend fetch to anyone. This was our first time being out of town without a family member available to watch our 2 cats. It was an emergency trip to see a sick family member, so it was already a stressful situation but the staff at fetch, particularly Shelbi, made us feel so relieved about the whole situation. She went above and beyond for us and we appreciate it so much! It is clear that fetch has true animal lovers who care and it makes such a difference. I will definitely be using them again anytime I need a sitter.

I was apprehensive about hiring a dog walker - a stranger in my home caring for my dog - yikes! I am so grateful for Fetch! Pet Care of Des Moines. The people who walk my dog are AMAZING. They provide full reports on every contact that include comments, what they did, pictures of their time with my dog, and a map of where they walked. The customer service at Fetch! Pet Care of Des Moines is stellar. They have worked with me on my weird rotating schedule that includes weekends and have been able to meet some last minute changes I needed. They will do everything they can to make sure your pet is well taken care of. I was a little put off by the cost at first, but they have shown they are well worth it. Don't know what I would do without them.

Veronica is amazing! So grateful for Fetch and being connected with her, for our recent vacation. Aside from daily cat needs, she spent time playing with my cat, even played her music from her phone. Took the most precious photos to accompany the daily updates. You can clearly see how much my cat enjoyed her new friend as she was practically in her lap by the last day!

Our cat sitter Rachel has provided absolutely fantastic care to our senior kitty! She’s very attentive to her needs and I can tell from the pictures she shares that our kitty loves her, too. We were so grateful to be referred by friends to Fetch! We recently got a diagnosis for one of our cats that required a twice daily medication (in addition to another cat who is already on a daily med), and had to quickly change gears on our cat sitter situation with only a few weeks left until our travel date. They set up a pre-visit meeting where we were able to meet our sitter(s) in advance, and I felt so confident leaving those med administrations to them (among the usual pet-sitting tasks). I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it was to receive daily photos and journal entries/updates from the visits. And based on the photos, it seems the cats whole-heartedly appreciated their visits, too. I will continue to use and recommend the pet sitting services of Fetch!

We love Fetch Petcare! It’s so nice to leave our dogs at home instead of a kennel. Our dogs love our dog sitter Diana and go crazy when they see her. They are so great with communication and send lots of pictures. We highly recommend using them for your pets.

Fetch did a great job of taking care of the two large crazy dogs at my house. Lorrie hung out with them in the evening and took them for walks so we could take a long weekend without worrying about them. She did a thorough survey of their needs before we left and sent updates everyday. A great service for anyone with pets.

We love Second Home and more importantly, so does our senior dog, Angus (15 years old). Senior dogs often need a bit more patience and understanding and Second Home has always went above and beyond to ensure Angus is calm, well-cared for, and happy. They are the ONLY grooming service we have ever used that returns Angus perfectly groomed, calm, and with no anxiety. Even better, instead of keeping him for hours and hours (which stresses all dogs, seniors esp.), they only keep home for the length of time it takes to groom. We bring home a happy and calm dog. He may no longer let us cut his nails etc. but he has no issue with them grooming him. Their boarding is fabulous, even with Angus’s food, medication, and treat schedule. The recommended suite worked perfectly for him, as he does not like other dogs and stresses when away from home. We recommend them 100%!! Thank you for taking such good care of our grumpy old man! You are the only groomer and boarding facility we will ever use and truly are a second home for him. 🐾

We board our dog at second home. He likes the staff. He eats well, gets played with, and must sleep well. Drop offs are without drama. He comes home from a stay still clean and happy - maybe with better manners. I’m grateful for their services.

This is my second time boarding my dog for several days at Second Home and I'm consistently impressed with how great the service is. They make the experience so friendly and fun for my dog and he always comes home happily tired from playing and in such a good mood. They had fun updates for me about the friends he made and how well he ate and played. They're my go-to service for doggy daycare and long term boarding.

Second Home provided excellent care for our cat when we were away, and was very accommodating when we had to reschedule our flight due to a family emergency. Staff also consistenly sent us updates and photos of our cat, and we can tell people working there are all very caring, responsible and they truly love animals. Thank you Second Home, I'll definitely come back in the future.

I was really nervous to board my dog for 8 days, but Second Home was great. Very responsive to questions and understanding. Being able to get my dog groomed while she was there was also a big benefit. I will definitely be using them again and recommend them whole heartedly.

Staff is fantastic! This was our first experience boarding a dog. My Corgi came home happy and exhausted from all the play time and personal attention. Appreciated the worry free weekend. We will definitely be back thank you!

I had my cat boarded here for one week and it went well. They give the cats plenty of space in their "catio" enclosures and they get to be out in the play room often. It made me feel better knowing they cared about my cat's well being and wanted her to have a nice time. Also well priced compared to other places that didn't offer as much space for the cats.

Best boarding place in DM Metro!! I can’t say enough about Second Home staff and beautiful facility. It’s brand new and spotlessly clean. It’s behind the The Dollar Tree off of Grand Ave. The staff is so caring and helpful. Their prices are super reasonable too. Your pets will love coming here! I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else.

This is the first time I ever boarded my dog. She's not around a lot t of dogs as well but when I tell you they treated my CoCo like she was theirs. The extra love and attention they showed her was beyond and above. I thank ALL the staff their especially Paris ❤️

We have boarded our 7-year-old whippet (medium dog) here for years. They are super easy to work with. I love that they provide food and water bowls, beds and blankets so we don’t have to haul them. The boarding costs are very reasonable even with daycare. And they offer half and full day daycare which is nice. Our girl is a lounger so having a half day of daycare is enough for her. I love that they have cameras to see all the dogs in the dog rooms. Even after a five day stay, our girl came home perfectly happy. They do a great job and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for boarding or daycare!

Do not have enough good things to say about this place… we had an emergency situation and needed 12 kennels with about 10 hours notice. Cory was a pleasure to work with, unbelievably accommodating and flexible, and the dogs were refreshed for the next leg of the journey. They have proved they care about animals FOREMOST, and if they can lavish this much love in one night for TWELVE DOGS your single doggy will be spoiled.

We boarded our nine month old puppy for almost a week with 4 Paws Unleashed and were absolutely blown away by their service. We were nervous - as our pup had never been away from us that long before and she was not super socialized with other dogs - and the team was thorough in asking us questions and preparing her for the interactions. They did an amazing job communicating with us online about her progress and gave us advice on training. They truly go above and beyond with their photo shoots and transparency. I would stop there - but the services you get for the price is also outstanding. So affordable and helpful. 10/10 can not recommend highly enough. We will be back.

We've boarded our 2 dane mixes three times at 4 Paws North now. The staff is great! The very first time we boarded them, I was so nervous! They voluntarily sent me pictures to reassure me our dogs were being well taken care of. They're very responsive over the phone and over FB. If they say they're going to call/message you back with an answer, they always do. I love that I can ask them for updates while I am gone and they're more than happy to. They personally know dogs by their names and owners which is cool. I've noticed they tend to have the same staff too. They're transparent with prices, which are very fair. I've never been "surprised" with any hidden fees like other places. They also have a good list of add on's like baths/nail grinding available while boarding. They do a thorough job with grooming and they come home so soft and smell good. My dogs have never gotten kennel cough while being there (they did at another boarding place the one time we brought them). Last and most importantly, our dogs LOVE going. When we drop them off, they're so excited, they care less to say bye sometimes. They will sprint towards the back, knowing what fun awaits. We've boarded our dogs once at another place that was supposed to be really nice but nothing compare to 4 Paws staff and services.

I have been taking dogs to 4 Paws for more than 10 years. We could not love them more. My dogs beg every day to go to daycare. The employees know them and me by name and care for them like I would. They accept their quirks and aren't afraid that they are large Rottweilers which are often viewed as a vicious breed." When we board them they care for them like they are their own. They don't hesitate when they need to be given medications and even help problem solve when one of them has anxiety that makes him a little destructive at times. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Both locations do a great job! When I needed to board my extremely needy cat for several days, the staff told me later that there was always someone working one-handed because they had Vash on the other shoulder. They also do a great job with grooming!

We boarded the "3" as the staff referred to them(in a loving way). Kai our big guy was a handful and then some for them. 4paws staff still went above what I expected. All 3 dogs came home with a bath and good grooming. Was our 1st time boarding our pups we were nervous taking them in. By the time we had checked the pups in we both fealt good about leaving them. Staff does a great job and you can tell they genuinely love dogs . Thank 4paws!
