Rediscovering life and happiness through my love of travel and animals
I cannot say enough nice things about Matt. His attention to detail and his thorough communication from our initial contact were refreshing and set us at ease. He sent regular updates and pictures of our pups having a blast and being well cared for. We knew that since we were leaving our 4 month old Weimaraner behind she would be a challenge, even for the most experienced sitter. Matt took all the puppy quirks in stride and when we got home, we could tell that she and our older Vizsla had made life long friends with Matt. As for the house care, I'm fairly certain that the house was in better shape than when he started since our two college aged daughters actually cared for the pups the week before Matt started and did the hand off to him - we know how messy they can be! Bottom line is that we loved Matt and hopefully he's available (and willing!) to sit for us again in the future.

Gretchen is an all star sitter. Joy was healthy and happy upon our return, our home was spotless, and she even left us a thank you card :) We loved the updates and photos from her stay. She can sit for us anytime!

Virginia and her daughters were great house guests. She was a great communicator, followed through on all commitments, sent us a couple cute photo updates and left the house in fantastic shape. I recommend her highly!

Experienced caretaker, long-time dog owner, and loving pet sitter
Hallie was an honest and reliable housesitter, and a great companion for my cat William. He liked her the moment she stepped into the room. Hallie is honest and thorough, checking with me about the one night in the two-week house-sit that she had to be gone, and arranging a substitute. Her schedule allowed her to be home with the cat a lot; I came home to a very happy creature and a clean house. It was a successful sit, and I would happily invite her again.
Diane and Les were excellent pet and house sitters. Jet was a very happy dog when we returned and Diane had shared many photos of their days together while we were away on holiday. The house was very clean and tidy when we returned and some milk , bread and sweet treats had been left for us, which were very welcome after our 2 long flights home. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Diane and Les as sitters for your home and pets, everything was done to a high standard and Jet was happy in his usual environment , which is all we wished for. Many thanks to you both.
Brian was a wonderful sitter for our 11 year old dog and also took great care of our home. He sent me pictures every day and let me know how Macklin was doing which always helps ease my mind. Our home was clean and tidy when we returned and everything in its place. I'd recommend Brian to anyone looking for excellent care by a friendly person!
Theresa is a reliable and experienced pet sitter in addition to being great at keeping house! She was very accommodating in meeting me & the dogs in advance of our sit, which proved she is a true pet person: attentive to my dogs and eager to know how they should be cared for. She kept me posted while I was away & I returned to a tidy home & happy dogs! I highly recommend her!!
Liz was a fantastic sitter for our boys and took great care of our home. She was a great communicator and kept us informed of what was happening and how our dogs were doing. She also kept our home clean and tidy. We would be grateful to have Liz sit for us anytime!
Jo & David were absolutely amazing sitters for our house and dog Rosie while we were out of town for 2 1/2 weeks. They are the best! Jo was super communicative and responsive at all times. She and David bonded with our dog, who grew very attached to them. They left our house super clean (and there were even chocolate chip cookies for us on our return)! Most of all, they are just super nice people and very easy to work with. Anyone is lucky to have JoAnna & David housesit for them.
Mikayla was a superb house/dog sitter for us for one full week. She was an excellent communicator, very quiet and tidy (respectful of the space) and best of all she quickly bonded with our big dog Mouse. She cheerfully took her for long walks and shared photo updates regularly. I highly recommend Mikayla.
Truly The Best House sitters Ever!!! Shannon, Travis and their son were absolutely terrific. I’m so lucky to have had the genuine pleasure of meeting them. Very warm, generous, open and loving people. My dog Wolfie usually barks at men who come in the house and I was a little worried about how he would be with Travis, but I had nothing to fear because within seriously 1 minute from Travis walking in the door, Wolfie was giving him kisses on the lips! I was so happy to receive their updates and photos and videos of my pets while I was away. They really went above and beyond taking terrific care of my many, many furry and feathered friends. When I got home, the place was sparkling clean, all linens laundered and beds made and they even left me sweet little surprises. I would welcome The Exums back with open arms anytime and highly recommend them.
Lynn and Ray were fabulous sitters, going above and beyond to take care of our home, yard, and rambunctious pup. Leaving him for three weeks was very difficult but we felt confident once we met them. They are great communicators, very professional, capable of handling any situation, and personable. Since they are fully self-contained in their van, they arrived a day early so we could show them the place, have our dog Bailey get comfortable with them (that was immediate ☺), and get to know them over dinner together. While on our trip, they sent us daily photos of Bailey, which we really appreciated, and updates on their activities. They took him hiking almost every day and kept him well exercised. Any issues that came up (e.g., our irrigation water ran dry a couple weeks in) they communicated to us and we were able to resolve them quickly. They also harvested ripe berries and squash for us and even harvested and dried tomatoes in our dryer. We spent our entire trip feeling assured that all things were being taken care of and feel ever so grateful that we found Lynn and Ray through TH. We returned from our trip to a house that was thoroughly cleaned (better than we left it ☺), with fresh sheets on the bed, and a happy dog. Five-star sitters for sure!
Stephanie, Brian and baby Martin took fabulous care of our home and pets for two weeks. From the outset, communication was quick, smooth and friendly and it was clear that both Stephanie and Brian are reliable, professional and warm sitters who take all the various elements of a sit seriously. They kept us up to date with photos and messages, dealt proactively and competently with any unexpected issues that popped up, and most importantly showered our dogs and gerbils with attention and care throughout the time we were away. We returned to a spotlessly clean home (with thoughtful touches of fresh milk, bacon and bread waiting for us) and happy, settled pets. In short, we would recommend Stephanie and Brian to anyone looking for reliable, attentive and proactive sitters for their pets and home. We would be delighted to welcome them back for another sit, should they ever find themselves in the area again.
Veronica House sat for us for a month. She cared for our two Dobermans and our cat. Veronica is so enthusiastic about animals. They immediately pick up on her joy and love for them. When some bold alligators made our dogs’ normal exercise routine unsafe, she was faced with the challenging situation of keeping two Dobermans with very different temperaments exercised and entertained in the height of Florida summer with its bugs, heat, and humidity. She met this challenge by taking the dogs for individual outings. She drove our young social dog to the dog park, finding the times when he would most likely have other large playmates and drove our socially anxious dog to the quiet areas of town for walks. This took a lot more time than our normal routine, but it kept our dogs safe and happy. A lasting benefit for us is that our younger dog, once a terror in the car, now rides much more calmly and our anxious dog, once fearful of what the car ride would bring, now happily hops in. Our cat was so content and well-groomed upon my return, it was obvious that she had been getting lots of daily attention, too. Veronica communicated with us on all the happenings with our pets and property every day. I came home to happy and healthy pets and a well cared for home. We feel so fortunate to have had Veronica as a house sitter and look forward to her sitting for us again.

Absolutely love the team at Heart Mountian K9. I’ve bought a dog from them and would buy many many more. Michael made sure I was aware of everything (negative/positive) about the dog and was able to answer all my questions I had. The training is amazing he involves you as a handler to train your dog making your relationship with your dog healthier and you learn how it’s done. Would recommend them for any of your dog needs!!!!
The crew at Heart Mountain K9 are one of a kind, from the kennel tech all the way to the lead trainer they’re all full invested in each animal and owner they come in contact with. I received one of the best puppies I have ever seen let alone had the pleasure of raising. The crew at Heart Mountain K9 have truly been nothing short of excellent in the adventure me and my wife took on in the purchase of our puppy. In just a short period of time our puppy has learned more in the care of his trainers than I ever thought possible. We can’t thank Michael and Denae enough for all the advice and guidance given throughout this journey.
Great breeding program and training program. Got my boy a year and half ago. I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for in a dog and Michael and Denae talked me through it and picked a great dog for my desires. Their dog handling and training is great too. They are very knowledgeable in multiple training specialties. We are doing protection training. They were even able to fix some problems a less knowledgeable trainer caused.
AWESOME trainers, they worked with our Kane Corso that was having aggressive issues and helped us get that under control, they offer a wide variety of services and will have something to fit your needs
Heart mountain k9 training team are the most professional and knowledgeable team I have ever experienced. Not only are the easily the best dog training company I have ever worked with, but they are equally as good at training dog owners as well. If you need help with your dog Michael and the Heart Mountain training team are the best you could possibly find.
I have been a client of Heart Mountain K9 for 2 years now. When I found them, I just wanted help to train my dog to a high level of obedience. Michael talked to me about personal protection training also. I didn't think I needed that and had a fear of my dog possibly making a mistake and biting someone inappropriately. Michael assured me that having the training would make my dog AND myself much more confident, which would prevent that from ever happening. I have to say, I was skeptical in the beginning and questioned things a lot, but in the end, he was right, and I had an amazing, loving, friendly, SAFE dog who was a joy for anyone to be around (AND made me feel safe if a bad situation were to ever arise). I now have a second GSD in training for not only personal protection, but also narcotics detection, shed hunting and maybe some search and rescue. This is so much fun and has become a passion for me! It is so cool to watch my dog progress and become the kind of dog I have always dreamt of having! I couldn't have done this without the help of Heart Mountain K9. They are knowledgeable and straight forward. Michael will let you know if your dog has the ability to do what you are asking for. I put my trust in them and am thankful to have found them.
Heart Mountain K9 is amazing. We have a 8 month old (at the times of training in March of '21) Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. My wife and I were at the end of our ability to train him and it was getting frustrating. We discovered Michael and Denae at Heart Mountain K9 and opted for the 30 day board and train program. When we got our dog back, he was a completely different animal and 1,000% worth the financial investment. He learned so much and we (the humans) were trained too in all our dog knew and what he can do, as well as further developing the dog's skills and talents at home since training has ended. We as a family are grateful to everyone at Heart Mountain K9. It is fun to listen to Michael discuss his passion for dogs and his zeal to develop his business. Whether you have a new puppy or need to teach your old dog some new tricks, as they say...Heart Mountain K9 needs to be your one and only call.
Had a great experience with these trainers. Michael and Denae took very good care of my dog and really took the time to listen to our needs and wants. It’s tough leaving your buddy in someone else’s care but I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Great job Heart Mountain K9!
I sought help for my five year old Yorkshire terrier to resolve dangerous canine aggression towards both young children and other dogs. I rescued him from a puppy mill where he was severely abused by the other dogs on site and by the children who lived there so he had a history that needed addressing. I couldn't take him out in public because it was not safe. He would try to attack any dog he saw and would terrify children (and their parents), but the day he severed the optic nerve of my other dog was the day I took him to Heart Mountain K9 because I could no longer rationalize away his behavior. Mike, his wife, and their two children took Leroy in to their home as if he were their own. They did confidence building work, they desensitized him to their own children, they leash trained him, they exposed him to other dogs in a controlled setting so he would feel safe, they crate trained him so he feels security in his crate rather than stress, and they loved him. Leroy needed two months with them because his fear of dogs and of children was so entrenched but I can now take him out in public safely. I took him in to Bamgaars soon after he came home and I froze in my tracks when I heard laughing children because they were headed in my direction. To my joy, Leroy simply looked at them and wagged his tail. There was not a hint of aggression in him. For the first time I felt proud of him rather than embarrassed by him. He still needs work with other dogs, but Mike is able to work with us at home. I definitely recommend Heart Mountain K9, he saved my dog! Kathy Hoskins
We purchased a puppy from Heart Mountain K9 last summer. We paid for training and were told when we picked up our puppy, that training videos would be sent soon. These videos were never sent. We were also informed they would register or puppy with AKC, which they did per contract. They also said they would send the AKC papers to us when they received them back from AKC. They never sent the AKC paperwork. They fulfilled their contract duties but their "Word" is worthless!
Our two cats loved it here and didn’t seem like they wanted to leave! This we were living out of a van for 6 months and couldn’t bring them along. Luckily, Tricia’s cattery is professional, price competitive, and feels like home. In the United States this is the only real, good option for long term cat boarding.
We are so grateful for how well they took care of my little Prince of darkness while we were on our honeymoon in Ireland. The peace of mind that we didn't have to worry about him while we were gone is priceless.
There are not enough good words to describe my thoughts about Tricia and the Hideout Cattery. I joke about my Josie having a “spa weekend” whenever I take her to the Hideout. Three levels with a penthouse view to the outside; a round fuzzy bed; and Tricia’s excellent care of my sometimes-cantankerous little oldster means Josie couldn’t be in better hands. I am so grateful to Tricia… and what a lovely person she is!
I have 4 cats (2 grown, and two BIG kittens) and Tricia looked after them while I was out of state for a couple weeks. I called for regular updates and laughed at the shenanigans the kitties got up too. There was a small behavioral issue once I was home and one of the cats was p!ssed I left them while I was away haha. I called Tricia and she helped me figure out what to do to make them happy (I moved a litter box into the bathroom which calmed kitty down). The cats are SUPER affectionate and Sunshine was the one who changed the most. The kittens had a very hard start in life and they suffered abuse before I rescued them. Sunshine always shied away from petting near his face. Now its almost as if he bloomed and opened right up to affection. The change was a surprise and totally welcomed. He is calm, and happy and confident in himself. He now is one of my most affectionate kitties and comes over for love and kisses all day long. Tricia is highly trained as a cat behavioral specialist and I can't thank her enough for taking such good care of my fur babies. I will use her again without a doubt. Highly recommend 12/10
They are the best! Our cats were well taken care of!
I want to be able to travel from time to time without worrying about the health and safety of my cats. Hideout Cattery is the perfect answer, as it really is almost like being at home. I know the cats are cared for in all respects, and they are returned to me healthy and happy. Every time.
Wonderful place for catsitting. Their home is designed around the Cattery and they are very knowledgeable about cats and cat care.
Wonderful to leave my cat comfortable and well cared for while I traveled. The Cattery loves cats
Tricia treats our cats as if they are hers!
Unsanitary and neglectful. I am not usually one to leave negative reviews but my dogs being neglected is deeply upsetting. When I picked my dogs up they reeked like they had been covered in pee for days – when staff brought me out their large food bowl I sent with them they said be careful it has pee on it from the dogs that were next to mine. When we got home I noticed my dogs had symptoms of kennel cough. I asked my friend who had her dogs there at the same time and she said all her dogs were sick too. A vet confirmed they had kennel cough. I called the kennel to inform them and the girl who answered the phone was snarky and said they already knew my dogs were sick because my friend told them. She did not express any concern for my dogs wellbeing or remorse that they became sick under their care. I was hoping that I would get a follow-up from management. It has been a week and I have heard nothing - I understand things happen but the kennel handled it very poorly. Additionally one of my dogs was in heat – I called ahead to make sure this wouldn’t be a problem and they said it would be fine and everything would be clearly labeled that she was intact and in heat. My fiance also mentioned she was in heat when dropping the dogs off. Halfway through their stay, I got a call from the same staff who was rude when I called about my dogs being sick and she was calling to inform me my dog had started her heat – I told her I already knew that and notified them when dropping her off so why didn’t she know about this. She told me that she didn’t know this because it was not labeled but my dog had not been around intact males. I believe this is true but I am very upset that it was not clearly labeled like I was told it would be. My dogs normally come back from the kennel happy and I can tell they were well cared for and had fun playing with other dogs. This time they both have a sad demeanor and one seems traumatized from poor care because she will not leave our side. I strongly discourage anyone from boarding their dogs here – they will not receive the care they deserve.
Owners were very nice. However, open getting my dogs home they had a bad odor to them and then they all got kennel cough. The dogs that stayed at home and didn't go to the kennel also have kennel cough. So now all my dogs sound awful, feel awful and are on antibiotics. I had to incur vet bills and now medications. I called to let them know what happened. They didn't attempt to refund any money or even call to ask how they are. I know of 2 other families there at the same time that also all now have ken el cough after being there. My dogs are really very sick.
They took grat care of our Labradoodle.
