I would suggest people avoid at all costs. The owner "looks after" your pets/family by leaving them alone to bark all day and or night long. Last time it was for over 4 hours. Constant barking. Clearly an animal in need. The RSPCA have been notified for neglect. I hope the full weight of the law is exacted. Edit: Mavis, I will not contact you privately. This has been going on for years. I moved to Tarrant Monkton in 2001. The dogs you "look after" were, and are frequently left outside in all weather whilst you used to go out to the pub, (before you fell out with the Landlady) or out in general. Leaving them to bark at all hours until you return to them. I would be livid if you treated my dog this way. You are lucky so many people have given you leeway this long for living in the village. Being woken up at all hours, the peace of the village broke consistently for no reason other than your lack of commitment to those pets. My review is factual and others will confirm this. If you don't want bad reviews, don't act in a bad manner. ****AVOID**** Second Edit: Geraldine, perhaps you should come down from your home two villages away sometime and experience it first hand. If you doubt myself, please feel free to knock on doors in Tarrant Launceston and or Tarrant Monkton to ask for others experiences. Experiences not opinions. Unfortunately your ignorance is not an excuse. It is common knowledge that you and others including Mavis don't support the local pub, or charity events. Also that you and Mavis host nights involving the early hours and alcohol. . The drama surrounding a select few in the Tarrants could pose a threat to most "reality" TV programmes. As I have stated previously, bad reviews come from bad experiences. Not fiction. This concludes my review permanently and any further reviews you, or Mavis' other friends post. What a shame this person has chosen to express his disgruntlement in such a personal, vindictive and misguided way. Mavis’s loyal clients know these claims to be untrue - her concern for the animals in her care is beyond question.

Mavis at Homestead Per Care has been lovingly looking after my “forever friends” for the past 15 years and I trust her explicitly. Be it for the odd day care whilst I’m working to weeks of boarding whilst I’m away, I’m absolutely confident that my dogs are being lovingly looked after. I could not recommend Mavis enough, both of my spaniels have adored her and can not wait to return!

Vicky has looked after our dogs many times over the years including a week whilst we have been on holiday. The dogs are always really well looked after and get plenty of walks. They are part of the family, a home from home, and love staying. Vicky is always really helpful and responds to messages quickly. Love getting the updates and photos of how they are getting on! Excellent service and high recommended!

Vicky has been walking our Labrador once a week for quite some time and often has her overnight when we can't take her away with us. Cookie absolutely adores Vicky and loves to go off walking with her doggy friends. She is so reliable, friendly and punctual and I know she loves our hairy hound as much as we do. Really can't fault the service she offers. Thank you Vicky!

Vicky is wonderful - totally reliable and immensely patient. She gets to know our dogs really well and understands their behaviours. She gives them great walks and if boarding or day care, the dogs are treated as part of the family. ‘My boy’ adores her and goes off very excited every time she collects him and when he comes home, he has so much to say and is a very happy chap! I trust her implicitly with my very precious four - legged friend and know that he is always totally safe with her and having fun.

Vicky has walked our whippet for many years now. It is so reassuring knowing that he will be well looked after and worn out after a good walk! Vicky offers boarding which we have used too. Vicky updates us with pictures of him sprawled in the sunshine at her home, thoroughly enjoying his holiday!

Vicky Carney offers nothing but a 5 star service for your dogs. She is professional, reliable and has a great connection to animals giving your dog so much love, care and attention. She has looked after my dog for years and Honey is devoted to her as are all the other dogs that have been with her for years. I cannot recommend her highly enough. You know your dog is in the safest hands and will receive so much love.

Vicky has walked our Labrador for many years now, she is so flexible and friendly and Belle is always excited to go out with her and the other dogs. Never used the boarding as never needed to but would be very happy to. Would highly recommend!

Vicky has walked our dog Betsy since she was only a few months old. She's always been incredibly professional, reliable and taken great care of her. I couldn't recommend Happy Paws highly enough.

Our dog loves going to Vickys for day care and boards when we go on hoilday. Vicky is very flexible and will always help out at short notice if she can...happy dog equals happy owners.

I have just called to see if there was a space for my 14month old dog for August to board. Before I even had chance to say breed I was informed she won't take rescue dogs. I thought people were bieng moved to rescue and not buy. Very disappointed

Wellington my Labrador and I recently moved to England and was so grateful to find someone who loves my dog as much as I do. Karen is professional, compassionate and is absolutely amazing with dogs. When Wellington knows he is going to stay with Karen, he gets so excited in the car he is beside himself with joy! When he comes home from his day he is happy, tired and content. Also a huge thank you to Wallace for opening up his toy box for Welly to have fun in!

Simply the best pet care available!! Wouldn't put our Ben anywhere else! He is loved, cared for, safe and happy and always runs to see Karen when we arrive! Karen puts pets first and cares for them like her own. We go on holiday knowing that we can really relax as Ben is 100% safe and happy. Karen is his other mum and he loves her ❤

Karen s Petcare is first class . Excellent professional service combined with the individual needs of each dog are fully met . Karen s good humour and cheerful personality shines through . Her love for her 4-legged visitors is indisputable . Our Border Collie is now fourteen and half years old and she has been happily staying with Karen for years..... she always wags her tail as she is welcomed in .. Happy days at Karen s Petcare .

You always worry when your fur baby…. meets someone new and goes to Doggy day care for that very first time ……… there is no doubt in my mind that Hudson absolutely loves going to “ Auntie Karens” . He can’t get down the drive fast enough. Karen is fantastic and I would highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for that special person to look after your pet. Oh, Wallace is gorgeous as well….. Huddy bear loves playing with him 🐶🐶

Dudley, my working cocker spaniel absolutely loves Karen! He is now 8 years old and since he was a young puppy Karen has been walking him whilst I’m at work. She also has him to board at her house if we go on holiday. Karen is great with him, she’s friendly, reliable and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Home from home for my cocker spaniel. She darts in there like she's off to meet her best friends. It's lovely. Karen is a wonderful person and is great with the dogs. Couldn't ask for more and would definitely recommend.

we’re fortunate to have decades of friendship with Karen and her husband Mark. They are animal lovers through and through and when the petcare service was set up, I knew it would be brilliant. And it is. I’ve been there, met loads of the lovely canine ‘guests’ who are all genuinely treated as part of the family at all times. It’s a happy place - you just know that when you have to clutch your wine glass at all times to keep the contents safe from the wagging tails!

You know your dog loves going to Karen's when he runs down the drive and runs straight in and then puts the anchors down when it's time to go home. If Karen picks him up, Chester runs and jumps straight into the back of the van. That says everything you need to know. We find Karen really reliable, friendly and professional.

Karen was incredible :) My cat Charlie was very well cared for and I could tell from our first meeting that Karen was a pet lover. Highly recommend her services
