Boarded our 2 mini schnauzers for 8 days while vacationing out of state. First time boarding so didn't know what to expect. Received a prompt response to the email I sent a few days prior to our drop off date answering all my questions regarding the details. Both dogs were happy and healthy and appeared well cared for upon pick up, with no change in behavior after returning home. They needed a bath, but only to remove the dried slobber that usually occurs after doggy play dates, so I assume they enjoyed their "vacation" and had some quality play time. Another dog was being picked up while we were there. This dog was also happy and appeared well cared for. The owner was a regular boarder and had nothing but high praise for this establishment. My dogs are family and I am comfortable boarding here in the future and recommend their services. Reasonably priced.

I have an extremely anxious dog, and she stayed at Lucky Dog Lodge for a week. They went above and beyond, trying to help her feel more comfortable while she was there. Also, they were quick to respond to a text message if I wanted to check how things were going. Renny looked happy and healthy when I picked her up. The list of who I trust to watch my dog is very short, and the Lucky Dog Lodge is on it. Highly recommend them!

Both dogs came back with a VIRUS after spending a week here. Vet said it either came from the harsh cleaning supplies they used in the kennels or from other dogs there. We had a terrible experience at this place. First of all, they pack those dogs like sardines. Wall to wall with cages in a dingy dark warehouse. There had to be at least 50 dogs there so you know that your pet is not getting personal attention. The “play area” is tiny and doesn’t even include grass. They like to mention their kiddie pool but it’s clear that it hasn’t been washed and filled with hair. We received no updates on our pets the entire week and drop off felt very shaky with the only person being there a teenager who barely said two words. I feel so bad that I left my dog and my brothers dog here for so long. Will not be returning. **Response to owner** Yes this is the dog lodge that I went to and it is exactly as I described in the back shed. Taking responsibility for this is the first step. My dog is currently on antibiotics and is still sick thanks to this facility. And yes we immediately talked to the facility and they denied all responsibility. No action was taken.

We recently had both of our collies groomed here. We couldn't be happier with how they turned out!! We will definitely be back to have them groomed in the future.

Absolutely love this place and so did our two dogs! The staff are so kind and caring about our dogs. I called just to see how they were doing and I got a full detailed report. Great place that earned our business. We travel a lot and will only bring our dogs here.

Lucky Dog Lodge is the best I've ever found for my lucky dog "Buddy" He was loved very much during his 8 day vacation with a shampoo and a handsome haircut at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Lucky Dog Lodge!!!

I brought my two dogs (which we got from the shelter) to Lucky Dog Lodge while we went on vacation and it was the best decision we made! My dogs had a rough start when we first dropped them off (anxiety from their difficult pasts) and the staff spent so much time with them to calm their anxiety and make them feel at home. I was sent pictures of them playing and it was such a relief to know that my dogs were taken care of by people who genuinely care about them. From now on, I will only bring my dogs to Lucky Dog Lodge when I need boarding.

Harley goes here for grooming every few months. He has been boarded there too. The ladies are so kind to him and us. He loves going here. Today he came home with a bandanna and looking as sharp as ever. We can’t wait for the next visit.

My best bud Bailey needed a place to stay for a few days just before Christmas. Contacted Lucky Dog Lodge. She had a great couple of days, the staff sent me a few pics and videos showing how well she was doing while there. Very nice place!! Bailey says thanks !

My dog Puck is been coming to The Barking Birch since early 2021, and he LOVES it! The staff greet him by name, they know who his “friends” are, and they are always engaging and sweet to my boy. I have to be careful when using the word “daycare” because he gets so excited to go! I love the fun seasonal and holiday stuff the staff do with the dogs (I have some of the “art” he’s made on my fridge) and I always love seeing him playing on their social media pictures. I especially love that he’s not in a kennel all day and he gets to play even if it’s cold or rainy. I have and will continue to recommend this place to anyone I know.

So many great things to say about The Barking Birch. I've been bringing my dog, Blue, there for a couple years now and she can't get enough! She can be timid with new people, but you'd never guess it when she's there. When I drop her off, she is more than happy and excited to go with the staff. Speaking of, the staff is always friendly, helpful, and accommodating! Whenever I'm gone, I know Blue is having fun and being well cared for. Thank you Barking Birch!

My dog was attacked here and they did nothing about it! Multiple deep wounds around his body… would NOT recommend. They never called to tell us something had happened, what type of a business model is that? And they had all these backhanded comments about our dog having been a "rescue" dog. Absolutely DISGUSTING Update: the owner of Barking Birch did call us the next day and paid the bill for the Vet visit

We brought our new puppy there for the puppy socialization program, based on the recommendation of several friends. The staff seemed very familiar with how she responded and behaved throughout the day, which we appreciate, as it is her first day care experience and we are very intentional about making sure her early experiences, especially, are positive. A staff member was dropping off her own new puppy that first day too, which we took as a great sign of the quality of care. They take very good care of our sweet Estee, and we will definitely be bringing her there for day care and boarding.

I can't put into words how appreciative I am of the barking birch. Really wonderful people and employees. It's the only place I trust to watch my 2 dogs. They do cost a bit more then other places but I'll happily pay it, just the peace of mind that my dogs are being well cared for in a safe and clean environment is definitely worth it, and unlike other places the dogs aren't locked up in a kennel the whole time, they allow the dogs play time with other dogs outside and inside (if the weather is cold) They also have a trial run before your dog stays, (a day of daycare) I was very impressed by this because it shows how much precaution and care they put into the well being of the dogs. Take also let them potty outside! Which is a big deal because I don't want my dogs to come home thinking they can potty inside. I highly recommend. Thank you so much barking birch.

Barking birtch is amazing. My dog loves it there. They are affordable,friendly,and great with dogs. Also do a great job of grooming. Will bring murphy there any time I go out of town.

Top notch pet boarding, daycare, & grooming. Family owned and operated-your dog will get a lot of playtime and snuggles. The staff is great-they really love dogs and your dog will know it. I have been taking our dog here for the past 2 years and he loves it. He comes home tired after just a day of daycare from running around with his dog pals all day. We've also boarded him there for a week at a time several times and used their grooming services. Everything is just what you'd want for your pet. The place is kept very clean with plenty of things for the dogs to play with and on. If you're looking for a professional but family environment for your pet, this is the place.

I must not have specified that our dogs room together - we were gone 12 days and one dog was rated leader of the pack the other one not - apparently she was barking - they have been there many times but the billing looked like they were in separate kennels - our chocolate dog is very anxious so if they were boarded apart it would have possibly caused her to bark. I wish we would have been contacted and I could have given pointers or had my son come pick her up. Beautiful facility and they always seemed to like going there- was over 1,000$ so will probably be doing something different for longer trips .

Wonderful accommodations for dogs. Very clean and roomy for pets to roam. Staff are friendly and accommodating. We have boarded out dogs there many times. No cat boarding.

Our dog Biscuit has never been a fan of having to go to a groomer or vet. When we picked her up from a bath and a nail clipping, she was totally happy! Everyone was so nice and professional!

We are beyond impressed with Paws in the Country and highly recommend it to anyone seeking daycare or boarding for their dogs in the area. Besides taking care of our dog while on vacation - they worked with our pup on some walking and social skills! While he was very excited to see us he was definitely sad to leave his friends behind. We will definitely use Paws in the Country again!

Nestled in the at the end of a road on the outskirts of St. Stephen lies a quaint little dog daycare. Paws in the Country lives up to its name, from its country setting to the down the genuine people that care for your dog.

We have been taking our dogs to Paws in the Country since 2003, and have always been so pleased with the amazing care they receive. The owner, Mary, is a dog whisperer. She has decades of experience with dogs, and many other animals, and always seems to know exactly what each dog needs, and how they are feeling. She is an absolute gem, and is one of the kindest people I know. I have recommended "Paws" to countless people, and still do. Thanks to Mary, and to her wonderful staff! You guys rock!

We have been taking our dog Leena to Paws in the Country for about two months now and could not be happier with how well she is treated there. The staff are great and the owner Mary is so wonderful! She is attentive and so knowledgeable about dogs and the care they need. Leena goes to daycare three days a week and has boarded there once. We will continue to send our dog and any future pups here!

AMAZING PLACE!!!! I take my two dogs here every Thursday morning for doggy daycare....it gets them attention, play time, and socialization. My dogs get so excited when we take that long dirt road to the beautiful hobby farm...and the best part is, they leave exhausted and happy. Very reasonably priced for doggy daycare, and I plan on using them for boarding if we ever need them. DAISY AND PENNY LOVE PAWS IN THE COUNTRY!!!!

I would 100% recommend sam & Danni’s! I brought my dog Ares there for a week, and when I came to pick him up, he looked at me then turned around and looked at the worker as if he’s like “i don’t know who this lady is let’s go back”. Boarded my 2 dachshund here for 3 days. Place was very clean and staff was very accommodating. Loved seeing pictures of play time. Yes is a little more expensive but definitely worth not having to worry.

We love Sam and Danni’s! We bring our pups here occasionally for boarding while we’re out of town and we appreciate knowing they are being taken care of and love seeing the daily Facebook photos of them.

They take such good care of my pup. Love like I do at home and wear him out! He loves all his two and four legged friends and gets so excited when we pull in the driveway.

From the instant I walked in, I was immediately struck by the genuine kindness of the staff members. As this was our first time boarding our dog here, we're naturally a bit anxious. However, the moment we walked in the doors, the staff put our worries to rest by showering our dog with affection and attention. Their genuine love for animals was evident, and it made us feel incredibly reassured about leaving our dog in their hands! Throughout the weekend, Sam & Danni not only provided exceptional care for our dog but also made an effort to know her personally, addressing her by name. My fur babies, Max & Maggie, love to go to Sam & Danni's!!! The entire staff take such great care of Max... Maggie only goes to the park... either going for a play day, or just visiting the park... you ask them if they wants to go to Sam & Danni's... and they start bouncing off the walls, heads is out the window all the way there...

We have been taking our lab mix since she was a puppy 13+ years ago AND now our newest family addition -a GSP to occasional daycare and extended “vacation” stays. We also used their obedience training program for both dogs and couldn’t be happier! They take excellent care of both old and young - we even have them clip nails and sometimes a complete groom. We highly recommend them!

Both a friend and colleague recommended them to me, and I can confidently say this service stands out as a true professional business, unlike app-based pet care services. The entire process—from our in-home meet and greet to scheduling, payments, and care updates (potty reports, photos, daily messages)—is incredibly streamlined. The client portal and app are also user-friendly, making everything easy to manage. As a pet owner, I'm very particular, but I’ve never been stressed out about the walkers who care for my dogs, Olive and Linus. While I haven’t met every walker personally, I trust that each one is respectful, follows the same instructions, secures the home, and keeps the dogs happy. It’s also worth noting that while you’ll know who is caring for your pets, if that person is unavailable (e.g., on holiday), someone else will step in—but I’ve had no issues with this, and I trust that everything is handled professionally on the backend. If your pet has specific needs, I believe accommodations can be made, and they are responsive to scheduling changes. At the start, I was concerned about who would be filling in for my regular walkers, but I’ve found that this is well-managed by Come, Sit, Stay, so I don’t feel the need to micromanage or worry about new instructions each time. Lastly, their rates are very competitive, especially when you consider the consistent, high-quality service provided. It also feels better using a local business that takes such pride in its work — no cringey App service fees.

Come Sit Stay took care of our three cats while we were away on vacation and they did an absolutely wonderful job! Communication was top notch with photos of all our cats and a written summary of activities at each visit. Our initial interview was very thorough and overall we could not have been happier with their services.

I’m a travel nurse and work some crazy, long, varied hours. Come, Sit, Stay has been an absolute life saver. I have always felt weird about using other more well known pet care services, I’m not sure why… but this place is great find and I like that it’s a smaller, local company. They are super reliable and very trustworthy. I always get a report card and some photos after the visit or walk and it makes so happy to know my doggo is happy and well cared for while I’m working. Response time to service requests, changes or just general questions is fast, even outside of their business hours. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I heard about come sit stay through a friend. My husband and I are in healthcare and very busy but wanted to add a dog to our family. It would not have been possible for us to keep our puppy without come,sit,stay. They have helped with keeping our new puppy on a schedule for potty training. Our experience has been great - communication,scheduling,updates are top notch! All of the dog walkers have been wonderful and had lots of patience with our puppy. I love that we get updates after every walk plus a picture. Client portal is very easy to navigate. Can’t recommend this business enough!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! A friend of mine recommended this service, and it was absolutely amazing. The entire team was incredibly thorough making sure everything was perfect for our 2 cats. They use a really nice platform that keeps everything organized, and I was most impressed by the thoughtful notes and photos left after each visit. Although my husband and I were on vacation, we couldn't wait to open the email with the kitty updates! Below are just a few of the photos from one of the days. It's so clear that the entire Come, Sit, Stay Crew loves all the animals deeply. One more little detail that embodies the quality of the staff is that the company sends out birthday wishes to all the sitters. I just got a note asking if my cats and I wanted to send a little birthday message and any photos to one of their sitters. It's these little details that make this company so wonderful. My husband and I have used various dog-walking services in the past and Come, Sit Stay definitely stands out as the most dependable, and hands-down has the best staff to work with. Their online portal for booking, along with their flexibility when schedules inevitably change makes it so easy to manage. Did I mention their staff is the bomb? I hesitate to even mention Tamie because everyone will want to request her, but Tamie is so good with our dog (who can be a little temperamental!), she sends the best messages and photos when she comes to our house and our dog adores her! We have used her for both mid-day dog walking services and overnight in-home care. The communication at CSS is what sets them apart and you will have peace-of-mind that your pet is in the best care.

I have been boarding with Vicki for over a year now and this is one of the best boarding services I have ever seen! Vicki takes such good care of my dog and every time my dog comes back she is so happy! Also, one of the major things I really like is that Vicki requires all the latest vaccines to include the recent influenza vax. I know other boarders may not require that but I am so glad she does. It shows that she cares for the safety of the dogs in her care. Her facilities are very nice. Plenty of room for my dog to run around and play and even a doggie pool!!!! I highly recommend Vicki's Pet Service!

Our dogs absolutely LOVE spending time at "Aunt Vicki's"! It gives us such peace of mind to know they are happy and well-cared for while we are out of town. The facility is top-notch with tons of room to run and a sand pile to climb. The kennels are large and can be adjoining for your pups to be together or separated. Our dogs enjoy our vacations as much as we do!

My future wife and I are getting married on Saturday, August 31 2024, and we have 2 dogs who we are wanting to get boarded from 8/28 to 9/3. We normally take them to PetSuites in Blaine but for that long of a stay it was going to be over $1,000. My friend told me about Vicki's and so I had the fiancé look her up, contact her, and she was great! Got her all of the necessary records, a couple photos, etc. Vicki was really nice. We needed to get a fecal test done which okay, not a big deal I suppose - they were due anyway for one. Well, one of our dogs came back as positive for INACTIVE giardia. Our other dog was completely negative. Our vet even told us that she would be okay and so would our other dog because other than this super, mild issue - they're 100% healthy. Completely vaccinated even with the K9 Influenza vaccine. Anyway, 4 days ago Vicki just straight up said, "sorry I am refusing to take your dogs." Okay, that's fine, she has a right to do that. That's not even the part I am upset with. The part that has been irking me is that she has zero customer service skills - no follow through. Just like a "well sucks to suck" attitude. An example of a good customer service interaction could have been, "sorry to do this to you on short notice; for the health of the other dogs in my care, I won't be able to take Jake or Phoebe. I hope in the future I will be able to. Congratulations on your wedding though." Do you know why that's Grade A customer service? Because I've been in various customer service roles for over 20 years and have had awards so I kind of know what I'm doing! Vicki - pro tip, do better.

Vicki has been our trusted pet service for many years. She is experienced, professional and caring. Being away from home with alot of other dogs can be stressful for some pups. We moved to MN two years ago with happy hopes of blissful winters for our huskies❤️. We were used to having more daycare options for our boys and searched desperately for a daycare place that we felt was acceptable for them. My husband found Vicki’s pet services so we gave it a shot. Best decision we have made! Vicki is great with our dogs. She has become a household name we have to spell so the boys don’t get too excited when we are just discussing the plan for the week. If you are looking for a day time home for your pup, highly recommend, Vicki’s pet services. They will be exhausted from play, love, and freedom to do dog things while you’re busy at work.

I’m a strong believer in visiting places in person before you put your money into them, especially with taking care of your pets. We stopped by to talk/ask questions and set up a time to have a walk through the facilities in the future. We went into the waiting room and we were met by a lady who was incredibly upset we missed the sign that she said noted they went by appointment only and treated me like I was the biggest inconvenience. I apologized for missing it and wanted to just ask general questions - she continued to just say “everything is online”. I tried hard to give her the benefit of the doubt but it was clear that if things don’t go her way, there’s an issue. We just moved to the area and needed a new day care for our dog - it was clear who we won’t be choosing. Super disappointing that someone with such a beautiful business would have such ugly customer service and kindness to potential customers. I wish it were different.

I consider Vicki's boarding services more of a doggie retreat/resort, even has a doggie pool! They have a well cared for fenced in grounds & very clean kennel building. Vicki loves & cares for each & every dog in her care. Each pet even gets one on one time with Vicki! To keep pets healthy, I love that she requires each pet to be fully vaccinated as well as the latest influenza vaccination after all, we don't want sick pets returning to us. Vicki truly loves pets of all kinds especially those in her care. She has cared for our pet for 12 years. The best boarding service you'll ever find!

Called Vicki to inquire about boarding my dog for a week. I couldn't believe how rude this woman was. First off, though my dog is fully vaccinated, I was told my dog would need additional immunizations for influenza, which weren't even mentioned or required according to my veterinarian. I was open to considering them, but since my dog was not "fully vaccinated" in her opinion, we wouldn't be allowed to tour unless he received these other vaccinations. Not even sure I would like the place, I asked if I could come and tour without my dog? I was told "No way" could I come and tour alone, because #1 she wasn't even sure I had a dog (??), #2 I could be another boarder just wanting to come and snoop around, and #3 "for all she knows I would be just coming over to kick tires". WHAT????? This is how you treat a potential customer? I'm just looking for a safe, clean place to board my dog, and certainly didn't deserve to be treated so rudely. Honestly, who would lie about having a dog and needing a place to board it? What is she hiding? I would never board my dog with this rude woman. Unbelievable.

Vicki's is a great place for dogs! She has 5 acres fenced in for your dog to run... My dogs love going there, they always make new friends and come home exhausted.
