We love pets, housesitting and helping others! :)
Steve and Cindy did a wonderful job sitting for our 3 dogs. We came home to 3 content, tired pups. Which we know means they were exercised and loved. The dogs lost their tennis balls and Steve and Cindy were so kind to go buy new ones!! Above and beyond what we expect. They were also flexible as our dates changed then changed again. We would welcome them back anytime to stay with our girls.

Your next friendly home-helper & pet-sitter
Allie is the best! So sweet and trustworthy, and very sweet with my fur babies. She gave me frequent updates with photos, and not only did she leave my apartment super clean and tidy when she left, but she also left me flowers and cookies 🥹

Maren was great! Communicative, reliable, sent frequent updates, and left the place very clean and tidy. Asked good questions and clarified with us about any time away from home, etc. to make sure Willie’s needs were met. Seemed to get along great with Willie. Would have Maren back any time to take care of Willie and our home.

Frank and Danielle were the perfect housesitters! They left our place very clean and we returned to homemade lentil soup, which was a lifesaver when you get home starving with nothing in the fridge. They sent me little updates daily (as asked) and our cat seems to warm up to them well. Would definitely have them back!!

We feel like we’ve won the pet and house sitter lotto with Scott. Most importantly, he’s taken great care of our much loved little dog, giving him a lot of care, affection and attention. He paid close attention when Tingsha began scratching (allergy to an insect bite) which needed vet care, with great communication with us. He even took Tingsha to his agility school class each week (great fun had by all) and to get a groom. We’ve come home to a contented and very happy dog. The house is spotless, cleaner than we left it, with fresh flowers and the bed all made up. Perfect! We had regular contact with Scott all through our five week trip and being “fellow travellers” (in all senses) enjoyed sharing lots of local travel tips and experiences as we each visited new parts of the world. We were happy to lend Scott our car and he’s been great with it, super responsible. Scott is a really terrific guy and a fabulous journalist and story teller (you must listen to his podcast about his travels, it’s a cracker). In sharing our home and trusting our beloved dog with him, we feel like we’ve made a new friend along the way. We recommend Scott without any hesitation and thank him for a wonderful experience, we’d love him to come back and see us, anytime. Thanks a bunch!
This was our first time using a pet or house sitter and the bar set by Leslie is very high! She is warm, friendly, communicative, responsible and very clean. Upon arriving, she immediately bonded with our rat terrier, Oreo, by bringing him a new frisbee (his favorite toy/activity) and throwing it for him in our backyard. Leslie has a sweet and mellow dog, Benny, who is now Oreo's new buddy! She kept my husband and I updated via texts/pictures of their daily activities, our house, and was proactive in asking questions before she left. She even dropped our dog off at the kennel for one night at the end of our trip since our flight was too late for us to get home for him! Our home was clean and had fresh flowers from our garden that she put in vases for us! Such a simple and nice touch! We have asked Leslie to come back to sit for us again for 2 weeks in August. I'd highly recommend her to take care of your pet(s) and home too!
Tina was a fantastic house/pet sitter for my cat Trixie - I can’t recommend her enough! She was very communicative and also self sufficient and I felt completely at peace with Trixie in her care. She took it upon herself to water my plants and also trimmed Trixie’s nails, which I always struggle with! She provided perfect company for Trixie, playing with her, brushing her, loving her and giving her daily medicine. She also left my apartment in perfect condition. I would gladly have Tina pet sit again. A 10/10 experience.
Kyle was a great house sitter and pet sitter for us. We had a good dialogue prior to him sitting for us, and we also did a short walkthrough the week before. Kyle formed a great bond with our dog Charlie and also took good care of our rabbit Poppy. A couple of minor issues came up with systems in our home due to an unexpected power outage, and Kyle was quick to connect with us and then was able to work 1:1 with the service providers to resolve the issues. We look forward to working with Kyle again.
BriAnna was our first pet sitter and we loved her :). She made every step very simple for us, communication was great, Pastis and Anubis seemed to be very happy with her, and the house was very clean when we came back. We highly recommend BriAnna to take care of your pets and we would love to have her back!
Angelica was a wonderful pet sitter for our dog Rosie! She was easy to communicate with before and during the sit (very responsive), and made time to do a walk through of our house/intro to Rosie prior to the sit. She was extremely reliable throughout the process, and left our house really neat. Rosie was happy when we got home! We'd be happy to have Angelica sit for us again and would recommend her to anyone!
Melanie and Steve were excellent house & pet sitters. They sent me so many pictures of my 3 cats without me even asking and it made me so happy to see them enjoying their company. I'd say out of all the house sitters I've had, they spent the most time with my cats which means a lot to me. They are kind, easy to connect with and I'd welcome them back anytime. As far as caring for my house - top notch.
We had the pleasure of having Tara as our house sitter while we were away, and we can't praise her enough for the fantastic job she did. Not only did she take excellent care of our home, but she also showed tremendous love and attention to our beloved dogs. From the moment Tara walked through the door, we could tell she had a genuine passion for animals. She immediately bonded with our dogs, and they seemed completely at ease with her. Throughout our trip, she provided us with regular updates and photos, which truly put our minds at ease knowing our boys were in great hands. Tara took great care of our home as well. It was evident that she respected our space and coming back home, we found everything just as we left it, if not even better! We highly recommend Tara to anyone in need of a reliable, trustworthy, and caring house sitter. Her communication was excellent, and she proved herself to be a responsible and dedicated individual. If you want to ensure your pets and home are in the best hands while you're away, Tara is the perfect choice. Thank you, Tara, for taking such incredible care of our dogs and home. You made our trip stress-free, and we're truly grateful.
I have had 4 pet sitters this year so far. And Liz was the best! She was wonderful with cats. She has an easy going manner and is very comfortable to be around. Very smart and she is a great communicator. She followed all directions and left the house spotless. I highly, highly, highly recommend her! I would have her again anytime!
5 stars? Minimum, seriously, Tyler exceeded our expectations and we are DEMANDING when it comes to caring for our 4 pups! Fortunate to meet Tyler in person about a month prior, instant rapport, and she was basically born surrounded by animals. Professional high energy, and enthusiastic love for animals! We asked Tyler "Why the heck would you drive 1.5 hours from Nashville to hang in our small town?" Tyler replied "Have had animals all my life, current Nashville location cannot, I need my animal fix!" Tyler arrived the evening prior to our departure, met our 4 dogs, the eldest is special needs with bad hips, the youngest a wild child 2 year old husky, and in the 15 years of having family or friends assist with our pup sitting, this is the most positive and enthusiastic our dogs have been to anyone outside our home. It was an instant love affair. Our dogs are so spoiled with mom & dad working from home, nearly 24/7 attachment, they typically become depressed, despondent, ornery, you name it, even if we go out for 2-3 hours. The 3 instances where we did an overnight trip or the like, they acted as if we had abandoned! When we came home after 3 nights away (was going to be 5 but business cut our first vacation in 10 years short), when we walked in the 4 of them looked up as if to say "Oh your home how nice" and were content as if we had never left. That is a FIRST in 15 years. Not only did Tyler provide us with updates, photos, messages, etc. she organized (we did not require nor ask) our complete chaos of a large kitchen drawers, pots pans, you name it, it was the most organized we have been in a LONG time. Our eldest handicapped Husky, usually has accidents in the house at least once a day. The youngest 2 year old loves to chew up the carpet, toys, bedding. Under Tyler's watch, no accident, no chewing, and total happiness from a new affectionate friend! This was our VERY FIRST Trusted House/Pet sitter foray, and Tyler far exceeded or expectations, and set a standard that will be difficult for others to follow. Allowing a total stranger to watch your beloved pets and home is a serious undertaking, and Trusted House/Pet provided us with a rock star. Family and friends alike joke how we are over the top with our dogs, and Tyler did not bat an eye, and provided a seamless transition of puppy affection and well being. This review may seem over the top to some, all I can say is this is 100% true to life, and other Home/Pet owners are welcome to reach out to us for further referral. Those who are able to work with Tyler depending on her work/travel schedule would be well served to invite her without hesitation. Tyler, THANK YOU for allowing us to enjoy a few nights for the first time in a decade! Dean & Diana Smith

My wife and I were feeling hopeless when it came to boarding our mini Goldendoodle. It was difficult to find a good location, fair pricing and someone trustworthy to take care of our pup when we were out of town. Finally we came across Holly’s website and were immediately intrigued. We reached out and Holly was so responsive and caring. We got a meet and greet scheduled right away and it went amazing. Holly and her family are so welcoming and easy to communicate with. It has been such a relief to have found Holly and now we always know we have a reliable plan for where our dog will stay when we need help with her. Our favorite part is the daily photo updates we get from Holly when she is watching our dog ♥️ thank you, Holly!
Holly was very easy to work with, responsive to communications, and thoughtful about taking care of my pup. I had a great trip knowing she was in good hands. The daily pics were not only adorable but high quality, too! Will definitely choose Holly again :)
We always feel comfortable having Holly watch our two cats while we're away! Holly is responsive, lets us know if there are any issues, and sends the cutest daily photo updates. She goes above and beyond to make sure they feel loved (and we're updated) while we are away!
We left our pet rabbit with Holly for a week. I knew right away that she was in good hands. Holly carefully went over all the instructions with us before we said good bye and made sure our little bunny had a comfortable set up. Then, amazingly, we got wonderful photos and updates throughout the week. Everyone was having a good time together. We were so grateful to have found Holly to share their home and attention with our little friend. Holly is really special.
Our dog loved her stay with Holly and family so much and it was such a huge relief for us to know she was being well taken care of while we were gone. Holly sent daily pictures which were much appreciated. Highly recommend!
Holly provided care for our two cats for a week. I could tell by the cute pictures she sent each day that the cats were very comfortable with her. She even took care of an ant evasion we had, putting out ant traps we had to keep the pests away from the cat food! She always replied promptly to texts we sent while away. I will definitely use her services again.
Holly has taken care of my kitty a couple times now and has done such a good job. She checks on my girl reliably and sends me photo updates everyday so I feel reassured that everything is ok back home. Vacations are so much more relaxing when I know my fur baby is being looked after. I highly recommend Holly!
Holly has been incredible with our 1+ yo dog, Maggie. Maggie is full of energy and love and needs a lot of attention and play. Holly expertly guides Maggie through her days and always sends us lots of great photos to put our minds at ease. She has been very flexible to meet Maggie’s needs and our busy schedule. Her toddler is great around dogs, just like her mom!
Holly is amazing! It was such a relief to find a petsitter who cares so much about providing the same level of care for my dog as I do. The photos were also something I looked forward to everyday. My pup can't wait to stay with Holly and family again!
Holly’s support has truly been invaluable. Our elderly kitty who typically hides has suddenly become very photogenic! She is clearly very comfortable with Holly and looks forward to her visits. Such peace of mind knowing that she is in such good hands.
Man's Best Friend was recommend to us because we were struggling with our 18 month old English Mastiff who is a 120lb puppy, nicknamed Monster. I was reluctant due to the cost and missing our pup for the 30 days during the training. After picking him up I realized that we should have done it sooner. Shannon is great to work with, and she really loves what she does. Her communication through his training was excellent. I highly recommend.
Man's Best Friend is an amazing organization. I would recommend them to anyone with a dog, even if they are already well behaved. The way my dog Rowan has calmed down with the training is wonderful, I get to watch him make decisions and I love seeing his brain calm down. Rowan was already my emotional support dog, but we needed him to be very well trained for when my husband comes home with his service dog. The staff kept us up to date several times a week with pictures on their Facebook page, and Shannon also called to update us. With the training package we chose, Man's Best Friend provided us with their Top Dog Academy online videos. We have lifetime access and we watched them several times at our own pace, we also watched the videos with our kids so they were fully aware of the expectations and new rules with our dog. The 3 hour training session with Shannon was so informative, Shannon clearly loves dogs and is very passionate about her business. She was patient with me, explained things clearly, answered all my questions, and really made me feel like I CAN be the leader my Rowan needs me to be. I know in my heart that Man's Best Friend will be there for us for the life of my Rowan. This training is worth every single penny and I am so grateful that I can trust myself and my Rowan to be a part of every aspect of my life. Thank you Shannon & everyone at Man's Best Friend! We LOVE you!
I can say, first hand, that Shannon and her amazing staff are well equipped, ready, willing, and confident, when it comes to training your dog. I spent 5 weeks in Service Dog Handler School, taught by the non-profit portion of the business North West Battle Buddies. And, in that time I was fortunate enough to "see how the sausage was made." They answered all of the teams questions knowledgeably, confidently, quickly, and consistently, which told me they knew what they were doing. I know this is just some random review... from some random veteran, but they will impress you. I've seen it. And, they're really good. The best, actually. Can't praise them enough. Team 248
My family and I fostered one of the Northwest Battle Buddy puppies for year. We found the entire process to be rewarding, and we are so proud to see the dog that we love move onto his big, exciting purpose in life. Over the year we had some training on-site at Man’s Best Friend and we now have been able to train our dog to be a more respectful, kind, and calmer part of the family. We boarded the foster puppy several times and he was always so excited when getting dropped off and he was returned extra clean and smelling good. Thank you for the great experience and all that Man’s Best Friend and Northwest Battle Buddies do!!!
We had two dogs trained there. One is was an anxious mess and causing the other one anxiety. By having them both trained we are on the same page and we now know what we do as humans to enhance or encourage the anxiety in our little chihuahua. Shannon has been the best thing to happen to them a bad us. We now understand how to communicate with our dogs effectively and support them there way a pack works support them.
Our "Monster" (as we affectionately call him) went to Shannon with some bad behaviors and the ability to use his size, being a mastiff, to get his way. After a month of being at Man's Best Friend, he came back an entirely different dog. Shannon is very hands on, explains how to continue the training very clearly and intently, and she clearly loves her job and her furry cients. Had I known how amazing his transformation was going to be, I would never have waited or hesitated to get him into professional training. The added bonus of being able to return for a lifetime for a private lesson/refresher if we mess up any of her hard work gives me some peace of mind and further speaks to the level of confidence and dedication they have to your pups needs.
We brought our 4.5-month old Belgian Malinois to Shannon at Man’s Best Friend. He started the program as a little monster and came back to us as a fantastic beast!! Definitely recommended if you’re looking for your pup to actually listen to you… and especially to respect you!! It’s a thing… After his training we are able to be a very happy family!!
We frequently board our dogs at MBF and always feel like they're getting the best care. The staff are knowledgeable, kind, and quick to answer any questions you may have. They ensure the pets are vaccinated prior to boarding and always ask about whether your dog is ok with a kennel buddy. Our dogs come home healthy, happy, and tired.
Taking our Golden Retreiver Killian to Shannon for training at Mans Best Friend was the best decision we could have made. Killian was only three months old before all the regular training techniques we knew had failed. We had successfully trained a lab and two golden retrievers using Guide Dog for the Blind's method (Collar corrections and positive praise). By two and a half months old he grew aggressive with corrections and defiant and would snap and nip (leaving bruises and scratches) and tear clothing. When that failed we tried treats and that only created a dependency on treats and then he got aggressive when he didn't get a treat when he believed he should. His play time was more like parkour through the house which never stopped unless he was in his kennel. He had a hard time relaxing and just chewing on a toy. Outside he ate everything to the point he couldn't be off leash. Recall was also impossible. At four months, we faced re-homing Killian or finding a solution because his behavior was defiant and we didn't have a way to correct any of it. (We swore Killian thought he was a fight dog.) I couldn't even pet or hug him without him biting me. In steps Shannon. Thank the lord because she saved us all. We left Killian with Shannon for a month at boarding school when he was four and a half months old. We were nervous to leave him given we werent sure any training would work, and Killian has extreme food allergies to top off the stress level. But they did great with him. They stuck to his strict diet and trained him without need of treats. He even came back healthier than when we handed him off because we'd only just gotten his dietary needs pinpointed and his fur was still growing back. So yeah, I was blowing up all the pictures they posted on FB while he was there to see how well he was doing health wise. Haha. Day one home with Killian after training was amazing and we are now three weeks in and its all going great. Here are the changes: Killian no longer bites, tears our clothes, eats our furniture, jumps on the furniture, takes things that arent his, jumps on me, or eats the outdoors Killian will walk on leash without pulling, lay down for more than an hour on command and stay, chew on his toys like a normal well behaved dog, lay on his dog bed, play outside with toys (instead of eating grass, leaves, sticks ect.), come on recall, let us hug and love him and he also now knows how to JUST BE. Shannon provided training videos for us to watch before we picked up Killian (which we will always have access to) and she did a 3 hour training session with us when we picked him up. The combination together makes her training program highly effective because it taught us a new way of working with a busy minded dog. Shannon gave us a new way of life that is calm and loving with Killian that wasn't possible through other normal training methods. We are sticking to the training she provided and its working out great. She even did a follow-up session, which was extremely helpful because we could get guidance on how we can do better with our dog handling skills. If you even debate sending your pup to Man's Best Friend for training, I advice stop wasting time and make the call.
Shanon and Man’s Best Friend are a wonderful organization. They have trained two of our dogs now and both are better for it. Our younger dog a was a real handful and we were worried about how it would effect our older dog and overall family dynamics. After training, he has kept his silly personality but is now a respectful part of the family. I would recommend this to anyone looking for training for their dog. I love the Christian values of this organization and how much education you and your dog both receive by the end of it. We now know how to effectively communicate with our dogs and have a lifetime access to knowledge and help from Shanon should we need it. Man’s Best Friend was exactly what we needed.
We have been using wet Noses for multiple years, for both weekly daycare and boarding. The staff is amazing and truly care about your dogs. Both dogs are excited eveytime we pull up and exhausted when we pick them up. We have and will continue to recommend. They are AMAZING!!!!
This was Buddy’s first time going to doggy daycare so we were kinda nervous about how it might go. Buddy is a very high energy Aussie so we were concerned that he might be too much. Our concerns were for naught. Employees at Wet Noses & Wagging Tails are well experienced with high energy dogs and were actually excited to meet Buddy. Buddy had a great time and the best part was, he was totally exhausted! 😆
Our dog Cooper absolutely loves WNWT. He gets so excited he starts barking as soon as we turn onto the road leading to it. It is reassuring when your pet is so excited about being left at doggy daycare. He’s never responded that way to anywhere else we’ve ever taken him. He comes home tired and happy every time! Thank you WNWT staff for loving him and taking such good care of him!
We just started taking Sadie to daycare and boarding and she loves it. She is so excited to go for either the day or a sleepover. The staff is absolutely wonderful with dogs. I mean look at the grin Sadie has, that says it all. She’s one happy dog!
This review is long overdue. My spoiled princess has been going to Wet Noses for some time now and I sometimes think she may love them more than she loves me. Their love for everyone's babies is hard to miss, they treat each and every pet as of it was their very own. I'm so thankful to have found them to help me in caring for my Mina🌹! 🐾
We were so nervous taking our (also nervous) dog to daycare and boarding for the first time. Our fears were quickly averted - they are helpful, friendly, and above all they love the dogs! I appreciated the extensive vet checklist and the fact that every dog goes through a temperament test before being admitted into the facility. It makes me feel like my dog is safe around all the other dogs. Love the photos and updates, couldn't be happier with the service.
Friendly owners and locally owned. This is THE spot for a dog wash! They give you all the tools and everything you need to take care of, groom, and bath. Great experience
We bring our Husky Kaia here. She absolutely loves in. I love how the have swimming, boarding and training available. They have a large indoor and outdoor playground. Your pup would be very happy here! I also love that they post pics of the pups on their Instagram. Here are a couple of my girl at daycare.
Our girl is 2 been going there since a baby she has come a long way socializing and playing with other dogs . We feel is loved and safe .
My Scottish terrier Lucy really seems to like it here. They have separate areas for the big dogs and the little ones. Drop off and pick up are super quick and easy. I think the price is pretty reasonable, we do a monthly plan for $30 a day.
Susie's is absolutely amazing! Our Kono loves it there! Everyone there is so sweet and take such wonderful care of our little princess. Drop off and pick up is easy and smooth. She was excited to see us but didn't want to leave either! I highly recommend Susie's I'd give a 10 if I could!
I'd never boarded my dogs before. I always had house sitters. I tried Susie's and I was pleased. My dogs seemed happy when I picked them up and didn't smell. When I took them back the second time they seemed happy to be there, so obviously no hard feelings from before. The folks were easy to work with and the check in, check out process was smooth. Nice job folks!
I was helping friends while they were on vacation in Greece. I had to pick up and drop off Barnum, their dog, several times. The staff that work here are so wonderful. You can tell right away how much they love all the pets. I would definitely recommend Susie's and if I had a pet I would not take it anywhere else. You guys are the best.
If I were a dog, I would want my owner to board me at Susie's. Joking aside, I've used Susie's to look after my 3 dogs many times over the last couple of years and have had a consistently excellent experience. I have no doubt how much the people who work there love animals, it shows, and it gives me total peace of mind leaving my boys with them. Additionally, they are wonderful people, kind and helpful. I cannot recommend them enough.
This is the only boarding facility where I wasn’t worried about the well-being of my 3 pups while I was away. Adorable and thought setup. Friendly owner. Extra clean facility. Fair prices. The only kennel we’ll use in Vancouver. Make sure you book early- they are popular and space is hard to come by!
Greatest place and group of folks in the world. If you want a great safe place for your pet to stay at look no further! Absolutely love this place. Suzie, Bobby and Sarah are awesome!
Love Susie's. The dogs are always pleased to go and they seem to take good care of them.
This place deserves all of the awards it can get. And so do the people. I’ll never take my dog anywhere else. Susie’s Country Inn is amazing.
I NEVER leave my dog! However I had to board him for several days & I'm so fortunate a friend told me about Susie's. Welcoming, clean, wonderful staff, excellent care of my baby and reasonably priced. Years ago I had a bad experience leaving my dog so I am very critical of any facility. Susie's ticks all the boxes. You can safely entrust your fur baby to their care.
Susie is a fantastic trainer and she runs an excellent, clean facility that cares about you and your dogs. We have had to leave town fairly frequently and Susie has been dependable, her staff is friendly, the drop-off process is thoughtful and clear. I can't say enough about the facility itself; it has a great vibe. It's welcoming and professional. I know my pets are safe. We feel so very fortunate to have Susie and her team to care for our pets when life takes us out of town. Would recommend, thank you.
Kitty Cat Corner Hotel provided a nice room for my kitties to stay, complete with ramps, a hiding place, a bed, soft blankets, and a cat litter box. It was the first time my kitties had been away from me, so it was comforting knowing they were being cared for. When I arrived to take them home, they appeared extra soft and fluffy. I recommend KCCH. Wonderful!
The Kitty Cat Corner Hotel is incredible! If you’re looking for a place to board your cat, look no further. This was Luna’s first time away from us, and the staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make her stay comfortable and fun! Luna is an active cat, but she did great! The facility is located inside All Natural Pet Supply (so you can grab a gift for your pet when you return for them 😁). Can’t say enough good things about the staff and this place. It’s brand new, so that’s why there are few reviews.
Mary Ellen takes the best care of my dogs, so much that the youngest would happily stay there forever. Great pick up/drop off process. Excellent communication and scheduling is easy, daycare or boarding. So glad to have stumbled across her place years ago!
My husband, myself and our pup just moved to the SE area and we were stressing on finding a doggy daycare. We both work all day and didn’t want our pup to be home alone; he has a lot of anxiety & especially separation anxiety. We found Mary Ellen’s daycare and immediately she sounded like a good fit. We’ve been taking our pup to her for about a month now and it’s been going great! We were really concerned that his anxiety would be an issue and that maybe it’d be a bit much for Mary Ellen, but she quickly dispelled those fears. She’s been working with our pup and helping him adjust to the new routine and has been incredibly kind and patient. We’re so grateful to have found Mary Ellen ☺️☺️☺️
I feel grateful to have found this day care/boarding location for my pup! I’ve brought my pup there for day care and I’ve boarded her for as long as 5 days. My dog always leaves happy and tired from playing with all the other wonderful dogs. I trust that Mary Ellen keeps a watchful eye over all of the dogs while they are under her care. Mary Ellen is excellent at communicating with me and I feel 100% comfortable leaving my puppy there. I would highly recommend!
Mary Ellen is the best. We always leave our dog with her when we're away and have been doing so since 2016. As soon as we pull up outside her house, she starts whimpering to get out and join her friends. Mary Ellen has two dogs of her own, Margaux and Rou, both wonderful golden retrievers who our dog adores. They're kind of like benevolent older siblings to her. I often think our dog has a better time than we do — home away from home!
I took my anxious 1 year old puppy to Wag Along to try to help with her separation anxiety and socialization. Mary Ellen took extra good care of her and within a few weeks Bootsy was more confident and well behaved and she loves going to see Mary Ellen and to play with the other dogs. I appreciate how very easy drop off and pick up is, and that my pup is still clean at the end of the day. Mary Ellen is kind, responsible and the price is right.
We’ve taken our energetic 1.5 year old heeler Sylvie here since the beginning of the year, been a very positive experience. Space-wise it’s essentially a house & yard, rather than the typical warehouse type areas of other doggy daycares. We appreciate the fact that the owner, Mary Ellen, has been doing this a long time and is very hands-on – it’s good to know our pup’s with someone experienced & who really cares about both the animals & how things are run. She’s flexible and the whole process has been super easy. Price is pretty standard. Our dog is fairly high strung and at first she had a lot of anxiety about being left there. But after a little while she got over it, now it’s fun to watch her excitedly run to Mary Ellen & all her doggy friends in the morning. I think the daycare has actually helped out her maturation process. Mary Ellen sends video clips and/or photos during the day showing them playing & lounging around, which is fun for a doting dog parent like me. The pup comes home happy & tired. We just do part-time right now - to socialize Sylvie & keep her company while the humans work, also to create a familiarity in case we ever have to board her there sometime for travel. Highly recommended.
We love having our Sully with Mary Ellen. We never worry about him when he’s there. We use daycare and board with her when we are out of town. He is always excited to see her and she takes such good care of the pups in her care. Recommend her 110%.
Mary Ellen takes such good care of my baby, I never worry at all when she’s there. My dog was super timid before she started going about a year ago and now she’s so happy to go see her friends each time. Mary Ellen watches a nice variety of sizes and breeds, so she’s exposed to all kinds of dogs, which is helpful for the real world. I literally don’t know what I would do without her. We love Wag Along!
Mary Ellen is amazing, I’ve been trusting her with my dog for a while now. I recently used her for boarding, and she went above and beyond when taking care of my dog. I had to drop off my dog right after being injured and Marry Ellen took her with out hesitating. She gave her her meds and cared for her like I would have. She even sent me frequent updates and pictures to help ease my anxiety. I truly don’t think you will find a more caring pet sitter in the Portland area!
Mary Ellen’s Wag Along Pet Care has served as a second home for our dog Jasper over the last few years and we’ve just started bringing our new puppy there as well. We drop them off for daycare a couple of times a week while my husband and I both work, and for extended overnights whenever we go out of town. Mary Ellen is accommodating and flexible (even with our sometimes last minute requests), as well as kind and knowledgeable about dogs. We trust her over anyone to take good care of our fur babies!
Wendy saved us during our vacation to visit our kids. We brought our dog, but he and our son's dog didn't hit it off. She was able to take our dog in on very short notice, and he had a blast. She is so kind, helpful. She helped save our trip. Kristi McDonald
I can’t say enough good things about Petlandia!! Wendy and Nate are so patient with my nervous pup, Roo. They are amazing about checking in; both throughout the day while he’s at daycare and weekly just to bring up occasional behavioral/health concerns. They both obviously care so much about each individual pup, and tailor their care for each dog’s needs! The Petlandia set up is so fun, and highly enriching for an adventurous pup. We only use their daycare services, but they also offer boarding/daily walks which I’m sure we will look into for future needs too! Grace and Roo 🩵 Petlandia!
We were so nervous about leaving our puppy, other dog, and two bunnies for a week over the thanksgiving holiday. We had Bailey come house/pet sit for us, and could not have been happier! Not once did we feel uneasy about our babies being well taken care of. Bailey was extremely communicative, sent us updates and pics daily, and made us feel completely at ease about not being there. Highly recommended! Lulu
I have used Wendy’s services for both daycare and overnight care and I cannot say enough great things about her! I have a bit of an anxious pup who doesn’t really like playing with other dogs and has separation anxiety. Wendy has done so much to go out of her way to make my dog feel comfortable and cared for. It's not easy to leave your dog when you know she is anxious but Wendy makes it so much easier with frequent texts and photos and by being so gentle and accommodating!
"Wendy and her team took such great care of our pup, both for walks and for boarding. He was an older gentleman who didn't always want to get going, and Wendy and her team let him set the pace. I highly recommend without any hesitation." That was my review from over a year ago, one dog ago. Now we have Oakley, a much younger and more energetic head strong girl who is so very well cared for by Wendy and Bailey. They have so much patience and insight into dog behavior. They use positive skills to coach our little one even when she doesn't want to be coached. Consummate professionals, they leave the dog and home in excellent condition with clear communication and frequent photos to let us know how our sweet one is doing when we can't be home with her.
Petlandia Pet Care is legit just the best. I’ve been working with them for 8-ish years and they’ve consistently been professional, communicative, and helpful. Additionally, words truly limit me in expressing my appreciation for their flexibility now, and especially during the pandemic, as my work schedule was unpredictable and changed constantly. When I adopted my Abbey girl, she was super beat up and had clearly experienced some trauma. Now my sweet girl is an arthritic senior pup, who continues to enjoy her unconditional love and pets and walks and treats with the folks from Petlandia. Thank you for all that you’ve done and continue to do for our pibbs!
Petlandia is awesome! Wendy is awesome! I did daycare at Petlandia with 2 Shetland Sheepdogs and a Shih tzu. One of my shelties was very shy and scared of new things and people. Wendy worked with Tori and formed a bond with her very quickly. My Shih tzu loved the whole area to explore and play with other pups! She always had the best time. Hunter my older sheltie found his comfy spot and napped. My pups had a week stay with Wendy at Petlandia. I trust and love Wendy like no other dog care person!
I have been a client of Petlandia Pet Care for many years and can’t say enough good things about their dog-walking service. They are reliable, and respectful. The communication is excellent and most importantly, my dogs love them and go bananas when they come over. I feel absolutely safe having them come into my home when I am not there and I rely on them to take good care of my dogs. Highly recommended.
Petlandia Pet Care is the best! I’ve been a dog walker for over a year with Petlandia and they are first class! Wendy is not only a great person to work for but I see the care and dedication she gives to the pets she cares for too. I would trust her 110% with your pet needs. She makes your pet top priority.
I love Petlandia. I very rarely go anywhere without my dog. So whenever I need to leave my dog with a sittter, I can become very nervous. But I’m no longer nervous since I have met Wendy at Petlandia. I trust her more with my dog than any other dogsitter and I’m willing to drive out of my way to have my dog in Wendy’s care. Thanks, Wendy!!! (And Rizzo and Cricket and Grits!)
I love the free day opportunity. It is understandable sense my dog has been training through severe separation anxiety for a couple months after his previous owners kenneled him until he was 5 months. He's a quick study and the man that lead him into his dog daycare was the 1st my dog has ever gone with without pulling and the man saw that he was better the next day. Phew! I recommend this place. Check out the savings on the buying options. The price is right. Also feels like a good and happy neighborhood dog daycare. My dog came back tired and ready to eat. They have great prices on meals but I just feed him so he has a routine.
My beloved, healthy mini schnauzer DIED in their care from horrific injuries. Your dog is not safe with them. I trusted them with my sweet little pup and he never came back home.
I called to speak with someone about boarding my dog and they were so rude! I said, "Happy Friday! How are you?" To which they scoffed and replied, "What do you need?" I said I was thinking of boarding my dog, but not when they spoke to me like that. The person laughed and said, "That's fine." And hung up. if this is how they treat the humans, I worry how they treat the animals. No thanks.
This place is awesome!!! My dogs love coming here, and they are always so tired when I pick them up, which is great because a lot of the time during the work week, I do not have time to play with them. Cheaper than any other place in the PDX area as they have package deals for weeks/months. More days you buy, cheaper it is overall. Pickup/drop off process is quick and efficient. The sweet lady that works here is a hoot and always making me laugh. Thank you, Safe Journey!
I just gotta say, I absolutely love this place! The staff and environment are incredibly friendly and welcoming. my two rotties always have such a good time there. I know my boys can be difficult at times, but they are very patient with them and they always come home happy and healthy wiggle butts! <3
I have nothing negative to say about them. Only thing is that i wish they were closer to Troutdale. I absolutely love bringing my dog here. He always comes home very very tired. You can tell that the staff here is very knowledgeable about what they're doing as well. I drop him off before work or a trip and i leave with a peace of mind. i appreciate how they try to accommodate my schedule as well. I also love how they don't kennel their dogs. My dog has terrible separation anxiety and a kennel would not be a good time for him. I really appreciate this business, and the staff that can make it all happen. I will be recommending them to anyone who needs a great doggy day care.
This place holds one of the worst experiences I have ever had. This happened 1 year ago. I took my sweet old pup there for a few day care trials in anticipation of a potential 10 day stay. He seemed to liked it so I went ahead and book his long stay. Conin was at Safe Journey a total of 5 days and he died. They emailed me while I was abroad to tell me my dog had not eaten in 3 days and that he was in poor health. 3 days! I immediately had a family friend go pick him up and 24 hours later he was dead. Not only this has been dramatic and absolutely devastating, but I also had to deal with the complete and utter lack of responsibility Safe Journey decided to take regarding this after I arrived back in the US. I received long emails from them with just excuses. I strongly believed that my dog was left in isolation, not fed and not cared for at all. He was so dehydrated when my friend picked him up, that even after 24 in intensive care they could not revive him. This place is extremely dodgy, they thrive themself as specialized in "difficult dogs", and so i trusted these people with my 15 year old mutt. He was a healthy old pup, and within 5 days he became ill and died. They took no responsibility, they did not offer to reimburse me for the days he did not spend in there, there was zero care, only a bunch of excuses. The recent number of horrible review have encouraged me to speak up. At the time, I reported them to the better business bureau. I strongly encourage you to do the same if you had a poor experience there. Below is a photo of Conin on August 24th (the day I dropped him off) and the photo of him 6 days after. Bless him.
We love Safe Journey so much! Craig and the team care so much about our pup and make sure he’s having a good time- whether he feels like relaxing alone or playing with others. It’s such a life saver to have a neighborhood hang out spot we can drop in any day or time. The rates are fantastic as well. Thanks Safe Journey team!
My dogs love this place! Kennels can be anxiety inducing, especially for resuce dogs. At Safe Journey, they get to socialize freely, making it more natural for all the dogs. In addition to our dogs being happy, they have very flexible availability and fair pricing, a must for last-minute travelers like myself.
We've been taking our dog here since 2016 and we couldn't be happier with the level of service we receive. Our dog, Xena, loves staying here because she never gets kenneled and can run around with a pack of dogs all day long. They are also extremely accommodating when we need to drop her off early, or if we need to leave her overnight on the fly. Great service! 100% recommend!
Rover is terrible for sitters/walkers. For one, they don’t list any information about the dog before you’re requested for the job. I work on Wag! too and you get to see all sorts of details about what the dog is like, what they need from you, if you’re required to stay overnight, etc. Rover doesn’t show you any of that—you have to message the owner to ask. And on Wag!, we get to see a list of available jobs and decide whether or not to apply for them once you have all the information. With Rover, you just have to wait for people to request you. And then you end up having to turn them down because you had zero information before they requested you and it doesn’t fit with what you’re comfortable with or need, because you can’t fill any of that out either. And worse, they are insanely misleading about your payout. When I accepted my first job, it said $80. I thought that was a great rate so I took it. Turns out that’s what the owner pays but that’s before Rover takes their 20% cut. I only got paid $64. Wag! is far superior in every way.
Don’t do it!! We had the worst experience of our lives. We left after a successful meet and greet to go to Florida. Our pets were in the care of Miranda B. For 8 days, she took my smallest dog out twice and he didn’t use the restroom once. She barely let my other 2 out. I hired her to stay in my house and care for my 4 animals for 8 days. Barely any food was missing and they acted like they hadn’t seen water in days. All of my dogs seemed traumatized. She didn’t clue me in one time about the fact that she was struggling. I would’ve gladly helped her. We told her to make herself at home and told her if worse comes to worse let us know as we have family in the area. Not one call, text, message. There was a day where she didn’t let my other 2 out from 6 am to 7:40pm. Unacceptable and criminal. I complained to rover support and they did refund us but we needed to submit a claim as our house was destroyed. She let the animals pee on our furniture for 8 days. Urine was soaked into my baseboards. They have a rover guarantee but they do not honor it. They offered to reimburse cleaning basically as a courtesy because they said that they don’t cover damage to a pet owners home caused by their pet. Which I explained, Remy can’t open a door to let himself out. She was supposed to take him out. So she damaged our home. She confessed to Rover that she got in over her head and should’ve reached out but she didn’t message us once to apologize. Rover has not honored their guarantee, allowed us to review her or removed her for the safety of other pets. She is still on there with a 5 star review sitting as a number one recommendation. If this review is still up it means they are still not taking care of their responsibilities and doing the right thing. We actually ended up asking for about half of the amount once we assessed the items.
Have had many good experiences with Rover. I rely on it when I need to go out of town. My dog has always come back happy and in one piece. I'm grateful to be able to depend on Rover to find backup! Everyone I've met has been a true animal lover. Rover team does a good job with responsiveness as well.
We rely on Rover to care for our dog 3-5 times a week while we are at work. Using Rover is convenient and more affordable than other dog walking/daycare services. While the vast majority of our walker experiences have been positive, we have had a few negative experiences (primarily walkers not showing up at scheduled time or neglecting to lock our front door after they leave). Regardless, we will continue using Rover for our regular dog walking needs.
They greatly fail protecting clients and pet sitters. Go with independent, licensed, and REAL insured petsitters. I was a petsitter through Rover for 7 years with over 160 five star reviews. The "Rover Support Team" have little to no prior experience in the pet care industry and fail to address most problems. I am moving forward with going LLC and officially beginning my own independent pet-care services fully insured and with a website/app for my clients that have chosen to follow me from Rover. Do your research on Rover and see how much they lack in integrity and quality. You will be shocked. Look up on Reddit from former/current Rover Support Team members on how they address problems. Look them up on the BBB.
End of June, I hired a sitter for 8 days through Rover. Five days later my dog was brought to the emergency hospital totally desydrated with acute gastro enteritis...vomitting bile & blood with diahrea. Rover warranties do not cover enteritis & I was not compensated for my vet bill of 3300$. Thankfully, my dog was saved by the wonderful vets. Be aware that only "YOU" the owner will be responsible if something bad happens to your dog. PS= the sitter was not experienced except for the fact that she herself had a dog which gives the impression that they will hire anyone who applies for a sitter job.
I've been using Rover for over a year and have found some great sitters and walkers. It is great to have access to walkers for any last minute needs. The app itself could use some improvements to make it more user friendly and add features.
Rover has been a life-saver for us. When we adopted our senior dog Winston, we knew he was deaf but we didn't really understand the extent of his separation anxiety. Being alone for more than a minute caused him extreme panic, which resulted in ear-piercing (since he's deaf, he can't hear himself), heart-breaking howling. We bring him with us as much as possible, but every once in a while, we just have to go somewhere dogs aren't welcomed. Rover is an amazing service that has allowed us to find people who can take care of him when we need a night out, a dog-free travel experience, or when both of us have to go somewhere that isn't dog-friendly. He's not a good candidate for traditional doggy daycare facilities due to his medical needs, but the in-home experiences he has had have been wonderful. We have a few Rover sitters we use regularly so that we always have an option for his care where he is safe and in familiar surroundings. Thank you to Rover for connecting us with these wonderful pet sitters.
I found our dog sitter on Rover several years ago and she has been absolutely fantastic! This website is so easy to use and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking someone to trust with their beloved pet.
I hate to write a bad review but I think others should be aware of the terrible experience we had with Rover and especially with the sitter Carmen K and her dong in cathedral Park N Portland. She advertises herself as well trained in dog behavior and in training yet she is not. She also advertises her dog to be friendly and amenable to other dogs in the home but that wasn’t the case. I had contacted Carmen for an extended stay due to an unexpected and sudden sickness in the family. I asked to do a meet and greet. She let me know she doesn’t do meet and greets anymore and instead has folks schedule a full day of daycare that they pay for but that they also need to stick around for. Anyone else I have contacted or interacted with on Rover offers a courtesy meet and greet. Based on what she had written on her profile I thought it still could potentially be a good fit so I went ahead with paying the $44 for a daycare day that wasn’t needed on my end in order to fulfill her requirements. I brought Sammie over. Her dog was aggressive out on the front lawn. She explained to me that he was “attacked” yesterday by another dog and might not be feeling his best. I’m not sure why she wouldn’t have rescheduled if she knew in advance that there could be issues, but she did not. We continued to proceed to the backyard so the dogs could get acquainted off leash. Sammie was doing great. He was comfortable and calm. He interacted very appropriately with her dog the entire time. He took treats from her very appropriately. Carmen did not offer a command before giving the treat and it made me question if she had the training and experience she claims to have. Sammie was doing well and so we proceeded indoors. I mentioned to Carmen that Sammie does best, especially when meeting new people, if there is another dog around. It is also written on my profile. The first thing Carmen did after we came inside was separate the dogs and took her dog upstairs. It was time for me to go. Within 5 min of me leaving Carmen sent me a text saying Sammie "bit" her. She sent me a picture of the scratch on her wrist and asked me to come get him. And then she refused to refund me for the day of daycare. My dog has never bitten anyone since I have had him for the past year. His anxious behavior is to cower and bark and back away until someone can help him to feel calm. She completely made up a story to have a day of care paid for that she didn't have to follow through on. Reading through her profile, she has a list of “requirements” for a stay that were not followed through on. And she has a list of credentials I found to be lacking. For example, her profile says she will ask for vaccine records. She did not. In her profile Carmen states she is experienced with obedience training. Based on my interaction with her today I find this highly unlikely. She didn’t even offer a command or hand gesture before giving Sammie a treat. Carmen had an overall inability to control the environment. She mentions that she has “extensive training” and knows how to recognize dominance behaviors and correct them. I would disagree. Carmen has a nice bio but she isn’t who she thinks she is or portrays herself to be. Right down to the photo that looked nothing like her in person. It was a disappointing experience all around and I hope this review is helpful and saves someone else the grief of booking with this completely incompetent dog sitter. She responded to my review on Rover by saying she is sorry my dog is so traumatized and didn't acknowledge how she doesn't follow her own protocol. I was refunded the daycare fee due to her negligence. I think others should be aware of her behavior so they do not book with her or Rover in the future.
If you're looking for an alternative to the impersonal experience of using an app to find a random pet sitter - I can't recommend Leave It To Shoo! highly enough. She's easy to set up with (just 1 short visit to determine pet needs) and very communicative while you're away - provides daily updates and pictures of your pets. (Examples pictured) My pets were loved and taken care of by Shoo while I was away - and that's all than you can ask for!
We have had the best experience possible with Leave it to Shoo for the past 3 years. It is such peace of mind to know that our cat is being so well taken care of while we are away. Shoo has the key to our home on a permanent basis; we trust her implicitly. She always either answers her phone or gets back right away when we need to book her. She never has a problem working us into her schedule. Shoo brings in the mail, makes sure the house is secure, and always leaves a note and extra food and water for our cat on the last day. The litter box and surrounding area are kept immaculate. We can tell that Olaf has had a great time while we are gone because he is not vocal or clinging when we get back! They play together and Shoo gives him lots of love. We have no hesitation recommending Leave it to Shoo for in-home pet care!
Shoo's been our go-to cat sitter for several years and has been great! She sends daily updates with pictures and keeps our plants alive as well. She is super reliable and responds very quickly. We'll definitely continue using her services for years to come!
Shoo is the BEST! My cat is afraid of everything and everyone, and he warmed up to her right away. She took great care of him while I was away for 2 weeks, and gave me such peace of mind. 10/10 would recommend
Sharon is amazing! I recently moved to the area and, on a short notice, had to find a pet-sitter for my dog and a cat for a few days. Sharon took such a good care of them! My dog can be a little mischievous, so Sharon even built "a fort", so my dog wouldn't get to the cat's stuff. When I got back, pets looked happy and well taken care of. Sharon kept in touch me regularly, informing on how everything is. She definitely does more than just pet-sitting - she even texted me to make sure I landed ok and am safe on the way home. Thank you, Sharon! We just love you!
Shoo is very professional, gives attention to detail, and is a very caring provider for animals. Along with myself, several family members have also used her services. We have known Shoo even before she went into this business, and we trust her completely with our home and animals.
Shoo is great with our 3 cats. She has been cat sitting for us for a few years now and they love her! She is very professional and easy to get ahold of. I am so happy we found her!
Sharon is the best pet sitter. My 2 cats love her.She keeps me informed of what's going on. She texts me pictures. She also is nice to bring in my mail or water my flower pots. Those little things mean a lot.
Shoo is a great pet sitter. She always sends texts with updates and has been really flexible when needed. We appreciate her work and service.
I am grateful for the service Shoo provides!! She even has my shy rescue kitty warmed up to her! She allows me to travel without any worries! Even my tomatoes are watered and garbage taken out!!! She's AWESOME
