Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

honeybee was a great sitter for our 3 animals. She communicated very well throughout the sit. Our flight home was delayed and she was great about being able to cover the extra days. Her connection to the animals was wonderful. We were less organized than intended on her arrival due to some unexpected work issues, and she was great about rolling with the changes (e.g. the closet doors were missing as the painter hadn't finished with them). She used public transport to get to Golden and then drove our car while here. She left a few items behind, and her attention to kitchen cleanliness could be better, but we would definitely have her sit our pets again if the opportunity arises.
Samantha and Scott are great sitters and we enjoyed hearing from them a couple of times while we were away. Our pets were very relaxed and happy too! Very happy to recommend them.
Meg was a dream pet sitter for my three year old labradoodle. She gave him nice long walks and was very organized, communicative and tidy. I look forward to another opportunity to have Meg in my home!
Angelica was a wonderful pet sitter for our dog Rosie! She was easy to communicate with before and during the sit (very responsive), and made time to do a walk through of our house/intro to Rosie prior to the sit. She was extremely reliable throughout the process, and left our house really neat. Rosie was happy when we got home! We'd be happy to have Angelica sit for us again and would recommend her to anyone!
Kelly took excellent care of my cats, Bertie and Jewel. She reported that nervous and shy Jewel even licked her hand! She sent occasional photos and updates about the cats, which I really appreciated, and she emailed/texted me when there were questions. At the end of her stay, Kelly and I had a conversation that was helpful to me, as this was my first zeewoi experience, and I'm still learning how to best welcome sitters to my cats and house. She gave me some excellent ideas about how to streamline the "welcome guide" I leave for folks. I really appreciate her insight as an experienced pet- and house-sitter. It's reassuring to know that she places a priority on pet health and happiness!
Toby and we were SO lucky to have Tom be our home and pet sitter for our Thanksgiving Holiday trip! From the very beginning Tom was responsive and communicative. He was even able to arrange a "meet and greet" with us and Toby before beginning his stay. While here Tom took great care of our home, and, most importantly, provided wonderful care of Toby! When we got home everything was in perfect order and we could tell that even though Toby was happy to see us he was going to miss Tom. I would be thrilled if we could have Tom as our zeewoi again. You will be lucky if he can do the same for you. :)
Mikala & Jake were great house & pet sitters for us!! Our dog and two cats absolutely adored them, and we came back to a very clean home with happy animals :) They were very reliable and fast communicators. They even had to deal with our power going out while we were away, and they handled it well. It eased our minds to know our animals and house were in such great care while we were away and would have them sit for us anytime!
Angela and Joe are wonderful house and pet sitters sitters in every way. They have a great loving way with animals and my shy dog warmed up to them right away. They are warm, organized, confident, and thorough. They communicated very well and gave me frequent updates and sweet photos of my dog Chica. They also took excellent care of my home. My only regret was that I didn't get to spend more time with them, because they're such lovely and interesting people. I give Angela and Joe my highest recommendation and feel that anyone would be very lucky to have them their sitters! I hope that they return to sit here again.
Jerry and Suzanne were absolutely ideal sitters for our home and pets. We spoke with them ahead of their visit and could tell that they are genuine pet and travel lovers. Over their stay we got to see even more that they are wonderfully friendly, kind, and responsible - plus they kept us laughing with their updates and descriptions of our pets' antics while we were away. Our pets and plants were well loved and our house was spotless upon our return home, and they were even kind enough to leave a few goodies in the fridge. Our dog in particular seemed to miss them and their long walks around the neighborhood. Thank you Jerry and Suzanne! We wish you well in your travels!
Amazing experience! Five stars all the way... Nikki was kind enough to watch our two cats Thomas and Toby while were away on our honeymoon. From the very beginning she made us feel comfortable with clear communication and quick replies. Since she was local in Atlanta we got to meet her ahead of time and hand off keys before we left. While we were away she sent pictures of our little buds having fun and being themselves, so we always knew they were ok. She always showed up exactly when she said she would from pickup to dropoff and it was so incredible to know they were in good hands, and we never had to worry. They love being around people so for her to have been able to stay with them and love on them regularly we came home and could immediately tell both Thomas and Toby felt great as they were completely comfortable. Much much different than when we leave even for a few days and have a pet sitter stop by and feed them. She asked all the necessary questions in advance, so she didn't have to email or ask anything while we were away. She even took the time to make sure everything was neat and tidy, prepped the sheets to be changed, and was unbelievably sweet to get us a wedding gift we both love. Nikki we can't thank you enough for taking care of our cats, and we would only be so lucky if you stuck around town! :)

Giselle is such a sweet and loving person! She loves and cares for our fur babies just like they are her own! Giselle kept my Dog Elijah for 5 days and kept me informed on how he was doing daily with pictures and text messages. I highly recommend Giselle because She is so gentle and kind to every fur baby that she comes in contact with! You can just tell Giselle loves what She does. She welcomes you with a beautiful smile and a very clean and safe home. Thank you so much Giselle for always giving Elijah the best home away from home. Thank you for loving and caring for Elijah as if he was your own!! We appreciate you!
I cannot recommend Giselle enough! She took care of my dog, Claire, with such love and attention that it felt like she was in the care of family. Every day, she provided updates complete with photos and videos, which truly put my mind at ease. It was such a joy to see our pets happy and well-cared for while we were away. Giselles communication was prompt, professional, and warm throughout the entire process. If you’re looking for someone reliable, caring, and detail-oriented, Giselle is the one! This was an amazing experience, and we’ll definitely be reaching out to her again for future pet sitting needs. Thank you, Giselle!
We’ve used Giselle for sitting and boarding services a few times now and she is amazing. She makes sure to keep us updated throughout the day with pictures. Giselle’s services are our families go to & is always highly recommended when asked.
Gisell is amazing! I was super nervous to leave my puppy because it was our first time being away from each other and my first time using a dog sitter period but Gisell really helped ease my nerves with her updates. She is super responsive whenever I need her and I’m pretty sure my dog stops caring about me when she realizes we’re at Gisells house 😂 I would recommend her to anyone!
Giselle is my #1 go-to dog sitter. She is very communicative, friendly, and reliable. My dog gets very excited for visits!
She is one of the BEST dog sitters there are!! She loves my cats and dog and they love her! I highly recommend her to watch your babies! She has helped me last minute in bad situations and I’m so grateful for her!!!
My furbaby can be very anxious, and his first time away from home Gisell made him feel very comfortable. Gisell communication through out the day was great making me feel like My little yorkie was in great hands! I would highly recommend Playful Paws Petcare 🐾💙 …
I have used Playful Paws Petcare multiple times to care for my sweet fur-baby. Gisell takes great care of him and he always has the best time making friend with other dogs and playing! Due to his sensitive skin and stomach issues, he needs medications administered and close eye to monitor if there are any issues to arise, which Gisell does a great job. I always receive updates and photos of my pup! I highly recommend using Playful Paws Petcare!!!
Gizell is wonderful! She is very kind and has a beautiful, clean home and set up for keeping animals. Nice fence too! I am so happy to have chosen her to care for my 4 dogs!! She handled that crew well, no doubt! She kept in touch every day sending pictures or videos, which was fun for me to see. During my trip I felt very confident that my dogs were safe and happy! She was also very flexible with our flight schedule with leaving very early morning and coming back late at night. She's the best! I wouldn't hesitate to use her again for my pet sitting needs. I know my dogs had a great time with her!!!
Gisell is absolutely amazing! She is very reliable and communicative! Anytime we go out of town or need a sitter for our boy, we can always count on her. She makes this process very easy. I highly recommend her for all your pet sitting needs!
Friendly attendants and very reasonably prices. I think we finally found a place to entrust with our hound girls.
Have been taking my English Bulldog here for 6 years. He loves it and the staff is attentive to his needs, especially as he’s gotten older. The only boarding facility that I feel comfortable boarding with when I have to travel. They are clean and friendly in all my experiences.
I can't say enough about this kennel! They are simply amazing and have been so easy to work with. We have a dog who loves us but doesn't always love others,, at least not at first. The workers here have made our big boy feel so comfortable that he's always ready to jump in the car to head to the kennel. They're always pleasant and handle him very well. We've also benefitted from their training advice when needed since they're experts with Great Pyrs, too. Not many kennels know how to care for a Pyr but they definitely do. We know he's in good hands and we don't have to worry when we leave him there. I'm so thankful for Battlefield Park Kennel!!
The staff is very knowledgeable and caring. We board both of our dogs (one of which is handicapped) there frequently, sometimes for as long as 3 weeks. The kennel is clean and well kept. We love Battlefield Park Kennel!!
Mavis likes being here! I like the setting and the people are so friendly. They take good care of your pups. They also take smaller dogs and cats.
It's always a pleasure to take my Cocker Spaniel and Guinea pig to this establishment. The employees treat your pets like their own. I have been using Battlefield Kennel for years and have never been disappointed.
Everyone here has the welfare of dogs as an upmost priority. We have adopted 4 dogs from this kennel through Appalachian Pyrenees Rescue. Victoria is top notch!
Wonderful kennel, very reasonably priced. The staff was very accommodating to us. Our dog loved it!
Very good with my dogs that can be difficult will use again love this place and staff. Another great experience
Went to Pyrfeast at the Appalation Great Pyrenees Rescue. They had puppies 13 of them born there.
Rey loves going to see her friends at daycare. The staff love our pets as their own. They know everything about our pets. You can be sure that they are not only supervising, playing with, but also giving lots of love. My pup has been going to Westchester Pet Resort for boarding and day care since she was 6 months old, and she is now 4. She comes home with a big smile and tired. I couldn’t be more pleased. ❤️🐾
I am very pleased with Juliet's care at Chester resort . She goes to day care a few times a month and howls when we walk in.. and I mean howls with excitement. The staff is so friendly and upbeat .. I always feel welcome which is very nice as I know my girl can be a handful at times. I like the fact that the dogs are in runs not crates . I love the fact that they put a cap on how many dogs can come each day . And I like that they are careful with letting dogs in with the play group. I have a working line German shepherd dog and she can be dog reactive .. I am pleased that they are careful with her interactions with other dogs. My girl is three now ..almost 4 and is fine staying home while I work but I will continue to use the daycare because she is so happy and excited to go!
**Review of West Chester Pet Resort** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of my dog, Jackstraw, participating in day camp at West Chester Pet Resort (WCPR), and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming, making both me and my furry friend feel right at home. The facilities are top-notch, featuring spacious play areas, clean accommodations, and activities to keep pets entertained. I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail in the design of the resort, ensuring that every pet's needs are met. The outdoor areas are safely enclosed and offer plenty of room for dogs to run and play. The staff at WCPR is truly passionate about animals. They took the time to understand my dog's personality and preferences, which gave me peace of mind during his time away from home. When I picked my dog up, he was happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. It's evident that WCPR prioritizes the well-being of its guests, providing a safe and nurturing environment. I will definitely be returning for future day camp and boarding needs and highly recommend West Chester Pet Resort to any pet owner looking for a reliable and loving place for their pets.
I took my pup here and the staff took great care of my baby he loved the pool! However, when I was interested in having my dog get to play with other dogs the staff was not consistent with how that process works.
They have been very patient with our nervous dog, Norma. She has taken a long time to get even remotely comfortable. When I pick her up, I can tell that she is cared for despite her being a bit difficult at times and not the most outgoing dog. The facility is clean and has ample outdoor space. It is comforting that they are attached to a veterinary clinic, if anything should happen. All of the staff members are kind and give off a dog lover vibe. We have also been doing some training with Morgan, and it has helped immensely after just a handful of sessions. Morgan is very knowledgeable and clearly loves dogs. I feel good leaving Norma in their care, and I definitely recommend them if you need doggy daycare or boarding!
They took great care of my Bodie. He had a great report even received a Report card. They offer military discount and he got a bath and his nails clipped. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Marley loves her time at West Chester! She can’t wait to get out of the car to go in!
The staff at WCPR takes excellent care of my dog. They are patient and loving and keep me informed when I’m away. I can enjoy vacations knowing my dog is in capable hands.
Love this place! And so does my dog. When he realizes we are turning into the parking lot he goes nuts. Your dog has to go through a week long orientation to make sure they fit in a group atmosphere and all vaccinations are required so I know Gus is safe in the facility… no aggressive dogs or unhealthy ones. And it is highly convenient that I use the wonderful vet service that is attached. He can get a vaccination update and I can pick up his heart worm preventive when I pick him up in the afternoon. Gus goes to daycare 3-5 times a month…I’d use them a lot more if they opened 1/2 hr earlier.
West Chester Pet Resort is a home away from home for your fur baby. The staff there are well trained and as importantly, love your pets as if they were their own. They are conscientious with regard to health issues an will contact you immediately if your baby has an issue. They are very careful about foods and any medications that need to be administered. My "Princess" was always thrilled when we arrived for her "spa" stay! Another advantage is that the Vets are on site should there be a need. I heartily recommend this facility.
Don’t call Rover.. Call Sarah!!! I wish everyone were as reliable as Sarah’s team!! They are always there fur my German Shepherd and 2 kitty kats. My pets even appear younger, happier and very relaxed. My Sheppie is almost 8 and since Sarah’s team has been sitting for them, she is so playful and fun like a puppy!!! I am so grateful for all the time and attention they give.. And the pix they send!!! So creative and fabulous!!!! I feel so fortunate to have found these pet loving people!!!
Sarah and her team have been the best caretakers of our animals! We started out with one puppy and weekly walks and playdates for socialization and exercise. When we added another puppy, we added more walks and playdates. My doggies look forward to their time with Sarah, Monika and all the other excellent caregivers. The pics and commentary on their time away just makes my day!!
I cannot say enough about Sarah Sits-N-Stays! Look no further if you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies! We have been using Sarah's company since moving to Richmond in August 2022 and couldn't be happier. My partner and I have very hectic schedules, but we have never been unable to schedule a daily walk and lunch for our dog and cat (even sometimes at the last minute!). We have also used them for overnight visits during weekends we are away. We have never been concerned and always feel safe knowing Sarah's company is taking care of them. They even send pictures and updates every day summarizing their time together. Our dog Teddy is always happy (as you can see!) and well-exercised when we get home. Even our cat, who is not much of a "people person," has warmed up to the staff. We have had nothing but good experiences with all the walkers/sitters, but I would like to give a special shoutout to Madi who is our main walker. She is AMAZING and Teddy absolutely LOVES her! Seriously... look no further if you need a walker or sitter!
I have been using Sarah Sits-N-Stays for dog walking services ever since I adopted my dog last year. Sarah and all the walkers have been absolutely amazing. Sarah made sure my dog was paired with walkers who are comfortable with an energetic, young dog and my dog has gained so much confidence through her daily walks. The walkers are reliable, experienced and communicative. My dog and I are very thankful for all the help!
Could not be more pleased! I am a full time student. The walking schedule is tailored to mine and has been a lifesaver for me and my dog, Pippa! Sarah is organized and attentive—each walker sends an update and usually a picture of Pippa during walks/playtime. Everybody even gives my cat some love too! I highly recommend!
Finding Sarah Sits-N-Stays after moving to Richmond has been such a blessing for our little family! Our sitters have been so patient and understanding with our reactive dog, and always have great communication with us when we are out of town/when they are walking our dog. I would 100% recommend them for anyone who is a little nervous to leave your dog with new people.
Our pup absolutely LOVES his dog walk and play time with Monika, our Sarah Sits ‘N Stays dog professional! Tucker, our dog, now literally knows the word “Monika” and “friends” and he gets SO excited when it’s time for his walk and play time! He knows the time and day and gets so happy when it’s closer to pick up. He always comes back tired, and if you have a hyper dog like we do, you know how crucial that is for your own sanity. They do such a good job of taking care of him and prioritize safety. They are also very flexible, when Tucker was having some stomach issues, they totally understood we needed to cancel. We really trust Sarah Sits ‘N Stays with our beloved pup! Also, Monika takes the cutest pics of Tucker!
I recently hired Sarah Sits-N-Stays to take care of my 16 year old cat while we were out of town for a week. This was my first time hiring a pet sitter and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I received daily updates with photos, so I never had to worry about whether my cat was receiving the care and attention he needed. Sarah’s team was always on time and willing to go above and beyond if they saw something that needed to be done. Thanks to Sarah, I actually felt like I could relax on vacation for once. If you're looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter, I would absolutely recommend her services.
I am very happy I was referred to Sarah Hays, owner of Sarah Sits-N-Stays. I cannot begin to express how pleased I am with the care that the pet sitters have provided to my fur baby. With the Time to Pet application, I am able to upload all the important information regarding Taz's care, including vital medication she needs to have administered daily. They keep me informed with every visit and send me pictures so I can see how my little girl is doing. They have provided a peace of mind so when I need to travel I can do so with confidence. I highly recommend Sarah Sits-N-Stays!
Sarah Sits N Stays is wonderful. They take such good care of my pup and communication is wonderful with an app that keeps us updated with pics and stories about the fun adventures our dog is going on. She gets so excited when her walker arrives because she knows it's going to be the best time. Wonderful service!
I adopted Tucker (Journey) from the richmond SPCA when I was volunteering there. He had been returned two or three times. He didn’t know how to walk on the leash and I could tell he was poorly socialized. He had severe leash reactivity, barrier aggression, and fear aggression. He had bit a few people including myself and I was very nervous taking him out of the house. We were able to barely scrape by pet-smart basic obedience training and I could tell he was very smart. From there I tried every type of harness and collar. I spent thousands of dollars on a behavior therapist and anxiety meds. My amazing dog walkers from Barksley in Richmond helped me make sure he had long walks every day. All of these things helped but progress was very slow and at some point we hit a wall. I discovered k9 and company via word of mouth from a very close friend. He knew a dog named Gunner had gone through k9 & company retreat’s 2 month boot camp and was a completely different dog afterward. I was extremely skeptical, but this first hand account made me want to try it. They quoted me a flat rate and then had Tucker for two months. When Mark brought him back: he could walk great on a leash with no pulling and I was taught how to keep him from reacting with distractions. He was far better socialized with dogs, and his separation anxiety was gone. He loves his crate now and goes in it easily. All of his obedience commands are better with distractions. The day after I got him back and trained with Mark I was able to get within ten feet of a poodle at pet smart and put him in a down stay. No barking. No lunging. No hairs standing up his back. No more pills. We will continue with k9 and company training and socialization because it works. My dog walker (Barksley) immediately noticed a huge difference and my dog Tucker has never been a happier ( : Thanks Mark and the whole k9 and company team for everything you did for us!!
When your dog waits at the door every morning to go to daycare you know he loves going and it makes our hearts happy knowing he is well taken care of. Mark and his whole team has really helped me and our Bruno with his behavior and aggression!! We LOVE K-9 and Company and highly recommend them to anyone!
Today is our puppy Oliver's 3rd day at K9 & Company Retreat and he loves it! I left him for an evaluation Tuesday and brought him in for his first full day of day school/day camp yesterday and again today. He's having a blast and we already see a big difference in his demeanor. He's only 4 months old so he has a lot to learn, but I feel very good about his new friends and trainer and I'm excited to see what else they can do!
I love Mark and Melissa and how they are with my Zeus. Zeus was always so excited and happy to go there when I took him. He made many best friends. I soon will be taking him there again. I highly recommend K9 & Company for anyone in need of their services. Such lovely people. We cannot wait to see them again.
K9&Co and Mark have totally changed our dog for the better. Our dog Leo is so sweet but had anxiety and could not be around other people. Mark trained him and now Leo can go everywhere with us. The daycare, boarding, bootcamp options make it easy to have a long term relationship with K9&Co so your dog can be socialized regularly. We highly recommend Mark and K9&Co!
Don’t waste your time, that is Don’t WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY GOING ANYWHERE ELSE. K9 and Company is Amazing!!! Love Mark, Melissa and ALL of the staff. I took My baby Brooklyn, 4yr old staffordshire Terrier here for 6 weeks of training and it was a wonderful experience. Even though Brooklyn has never bit anyone I was VERY concerned she would. She has aggression and separation issues. She could not be walked, Bathe, petted, fed, in the room with other people, I tell you NOTHING could be done. I was scared for her and for them when I left her. The cost was clear for her evaluation, boarding, option of bath, nails, and future visits. Brooklyn had been through 3 trainers who tried to train from the driveway not even going near her. The other trainers wanted me to buy shock collars to do what Mark and his team did with a leash. Brooklyn returned with better behavior, a clear plan and understanding for the behaviors that we needed to work on. She was treated with excellent care and continues to receive that with every visit
Words cannot explain how glad I was to have found K9 & Co for my Daisy. She started going to daily daycare starting at 15 weeks and went from being anxious leaving us to running to the door in excitement to play and train. The staff is PHENOMENAL and they treat each pup like their own. I highly recommend this amazing place for anyone looking for boarding, daycare and/or training!
K9 and Co retreat is the best! They were amazing with my senior dog and now take care of my 5 month old Golden Retriever!
Sophie participated in the boot camp and she learned so much! Mark is amazing at connecting with and training dogs. He uses positive reinforcement and was very successful with my standard poodle.
Our puppy LOVES this doggy daycare place as do her pawrents! They have a very thorough medical check-in and first day behavior check, which is so professional! Mark was very communicative and answered all of my questions. It is a very professional facility. There is a ton of information online about their mission and , services. Everyone is friendly, efficient and helpful. The hours are fantastic. Our little girl always comes home happy and tired. Send her along with food. She comes home happy, fed and tired.
The staff here are so kind and friendly. My dog, Cosette, begins smiling and wiggling as soon as we walk in the door. It is a 'no frills' place but my dog doesn't need a pool or gym equipment. She needs a loving staff and plenty of dogs to play with. It is affordable and they will even bath her and trim her nails for me. She goes to daycare 2 days a week. Because she has so many positive interactions there, she was comfortable being boarded for a few days.
Conan was a senior dog with specific needs when he started going to Four Paws Pet Resort. The staff were always accommodating and understanding of his needs. I lost my best friend while I was traveling and the Staff at Four Paws showed him the love only someone who cares deeply for an animal can show. The owner stayed in contact with me while we made our way home and his staff remained with Conan until he passed. I may not ever need the services of Four Paws Pet Resort again, but I will refer everyone I know. Just tell them “Conan’s Dad sent you.”.
Overall nice employees and reasonable prices. My issue is why don't you have live video footage,cameras/monitors for us pet parents to see what's really going on when we're away from our babies? If there's nothing to hide and all is well? Id feel more comfortable seeing that my pet is truly happy and enjoying their day while I'm gone. It's every parents right to see first hand if their pet is truly being taken care of as claimed and they're having fun, enjoying themselves. I strongly recommend implementing a live video stream for people who drop their dogs off with you all day. It would give us a peace of mind and no suspicions.
Warning ‼️ My fur baby is now missing one eye after being boarded here. Incident took place Monday. I was informed my dog’s eye was dislodged from the socket and right off I was being told it was common or normal for my breed and age of dog. My family and friends own small breeds of different sorts and have never had this issue. He was taken to the hospital and they could not save the eye. They also determined that this was NOT normal and resulted from traumatic injury. It’s is now Thursday and I still do not have an incident report or video footage from the facility. No one has told me what happened while he was in their care. They keep saying they are sorry but still have yet to give me answers. Owner said he would provide report after investigation but why does that take more than 24hrs from an incident involving emergency surgery? They accuse the hospital of being overhanded on their report to me and all the hospital did was report their findings and facts, something four paws for some reason has a hard time of doing.i lost trust with this center and made sure my dog was discharged my boyfriend and not them. This caused him to rearrange his work plans. How do you brace your child to see their dog perfectly fine one day and in pain, discomfort and missing an eye when she returns from travel?
Our dog Flapjack loves Four Paws Pet Resort! The staff is amazing and so kind. You can tell how much they love your pet:) Flapjack always loves going in to daycare each day.
I began using Four Paws over the summer when I needed a last minute sitter. I was very nervous the first time around to leave my babies with someone I didn't know. Needless to say I gave them a call the day after drop off to check on my babies. The staff told me they were having so much fun with the other dogs and were wearing themselves out. Since the first visit, I have booked a couple more times. As soon as we arrive to Four Paws my pups know exactly where we are. They get so excited to go see their friends and have so much fun! Upon pick-up my pups are always worn out from all the fun they had. If you need a place to board your pups Four Paws is the place to go! Friendly staff, fun environment, and bonus: the dogs are worn out by pick up time!
We absolutely love four paws! The staff are always so great and welcoming. After a few visits, they had remembered our dog by name. We normally bring our hound mix for dog daycare. He thrives on social interaction so he is always excited when we pull up to the building. We have also used them for boarding over the weekend when we leave town and never had an issue. We have recommended them to several of our dog friends.
My dog Chip loves 4 Paws Pet Resort! The staff is always friendly and courteous. Chip loves everyone that greets him at the front desk. We have never had any safety concerns and they all obviously love working with dogs. Chip has a great time at 4 Paws because he is always exhausted and in a great mood when I pick him up. I 100% recommend 4 Paws Pet Resort for daily daycare and boarding. They are the best!
My puppy has been going to 4 paws for over a year, the staff is amazing - they all know him and provide great, friendly service. They really care about your dog and are always super helpful. The few times my dog got a little rambunctious they were great about letting me now. Brody just loves going to daycare to have fun with his friends and get out some energy!
My family, and most importantly my doggo, LOVE this place! My fur baby gets so excited every time we pull up to the door since she knows she’s going to have so much fun! The staff are all super friendly, and they take such good care of all the dogs under their care. And they’re reasonably priced. Bonus: the owner of this business is also supports their local community, giving money support and honor teachers and schools :)
This five star review is for the groomer at Pets at Play (can’t speak to daycare or boarding, as I’ve never done either). I have a 9 year old doodle and trust me, finding a groomer who is not only willing to groom your doodle but also does it well and with a good attitude (many get annoyed) is rare. I always leave happy! He does a great job and in my experience $100 for ~the works~ is affordable. So glad to have found him!
Our little dog loves boarding here. She plays with her little dog friends and gets meals on time. Grooming here is first rate. We bring her in every six weeks. There's a new groomer and he's great
My dog loves Pets at Play! I have been taking Ollie to Pets at Play for daycare, overnight boarding and grooming for over a year now. He is a sweet but sensitive dog. Pets at Play is the only dog boarding and grooming place in RVA that he enjoys going to and being at. The groomer is always very thoughtful about grooming Ollie the way I like. She called me before she groomed Ollie just to confirm she knew what I wanted from his cut. Very blessed to have Pets at Play in our lives
When I tell you my baby loves this place!!! He is a mamma's boy, if he doesn't know you he will not go near you. BUT when we come to Pets at Play he runs right through the door to the day care and grooming! He comes home tired from day care so I know he is playing and having fun!!
Only been here a few times but I am now a loyal customer! They must be doing something right, because now every time I walk my dog he tries to pull me in the direction of Pets At Play. He is so ecstatic every time we go, I am starting to bring him there just for fun in addition to out of necessity! Do note: if your dog is over 70 lbs they won’t be able to be boarded overnight due to kennel sizes, but they do wonderfully accommodating larger dogs in daycare! My pup loves Pets At Play!
Came here for their grooming services and was not disappointed! They were polite and informative when I called with questions and were super friendly in person. And they made my pup adorable! Will definitely return for future grooming services and daycare services.
My westie,, Tucker loves this place to play. I think he has a girlfriend there. They are kind, courteous and true animal lovers. This is the only place he’ll play with other dogs as he never plays outside my home with any other dogs male or female.
I booked grooming for my dog a month ago and was very clear (in writing) about his large size (~100 pounds) - they even said it was fine in writing. I drove 40 minutes to get there and as soon as I was pulling into my neighborhood after drop off, the groomer called to say that my dog was too heavy to fit on the table/a leg of the table was breaking. He made sure to mention that it was not my dog's fault at all/he was fine. He said he has been trying to get new equipment for grooming from management but they're refusing. What type of table doesn't hold 100 pounds? I drove for 2 hours total between 7:00am and 9:00am all because they couldn't provide the groomer the correct equipment to provide grooming services to my dog. It's not his fault in my opinion, but if he knew that size would be an issue, they should have let me know well in advance, as I had booked it a month ago. My dog used to go to Pets at Play about two years ago and there were not issues then (and he was around the same weight). Very disappointed in the lack of communication and lack of resources to provide grooming services. A word of advice to management: do not advertise grooming for dogs of all sizes/approve grooming for larger dogs if you cannot actually do it.
We used to be faithful Pets at Play customers for over 3 1/2 years, having taken our 4 year old since she was a puppy, and our 6 month old for a solid year at least two days a week for each. Over that time, we’ve provided them thousands of dollars in revenue, somewhere around $8k-$9k between daycare, baths and the occasional boarding. In March of 2019, we sent our older dog in for her regular daycare appointment and requested she get a bath and her nails trimmed. When we got her home, we noticed she was licking her paw quite a bit and saw one of her nails was badly damaged, split, and beginning to ooze pus. No one at Pets at Play called or told us her nail was damaged, even though they said her nails were cut. We emailed the owner with our concerns and received a call back from an employee, who specifically told me she was calling as to not cause any confusion, but they could not get their story straight. To me, it sounds like they didn’t want a paper trail of any potential responsibility. One person said the nails were cut, then the groomer said they did not need to be cut. If the nails got cut, why did no one tell us they damaged her nail? If they did not need to get cut, that obviously means you checked them all, right? And if you saw one was damaged, why were we never told? Whatever the case, our dog went to daycare just fine, but left with a badly damaged nail which required sedation and surgery the next day to the tune of $275 in vet bills. Whether our dog’s nails were cut, Pets at Play was negligent at best, and deceptive at worst in trying to conceal or claim ignorance of her injury. Finally, to add insult to injury (literally), I went into their online system that weekend to cancel the next two daycare reservations (because our dog needed to be at home to recover from surgery), and they had deleted all of her reservations for the next year without telling us. I never said anything to them, so why would they delete our standing reservations? It doesn’t seem like a good business practice to alienate loyal customers as we have been for years. The way Pets at Play treated our dog, my wife and me is no way to treat loyal customers. We’ve always enjoyed taking our dogs to Pets at Play for daycare and boarding, but I no longer have any faith in how they treat us or our dogs. We will not be returning, nor can I recommend their services.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful PETs at PLAY is! Dixie knows when I say "want to go see your friends" exactly where she is going and doesn't even look back when we hit the door! That is how I know, PETs at PLAY is the absolute BEST. Dixie has only ever stayed the night in her entire 11 years with my parents, PETs at PLAY and me. I LOVE the emailed pictures throughout the day of her literally smiling and having fun! I am particular because she is such an important part of my life and choosing a daycare and place to board seemed impossible until we experienced PETs at PLAY. Dixie's excitement when talking about, going to and spending time here is exactly why PETs at PLAY will be the only place we go!
SO pleased with their service! Made a last minute reservation from out of state, they were very accommodating. My dog can be a handful, but they were super sweet, very friendly with her and I think she had a great time! She was exhausted when she got home from playing so much! You can tell that Nancy really cares about the pets she watches, and it’s more than just a job to her. Would recommend to anybody looking to board in the area! Thank you Nancy, Artemis loves you guys!
Nancy took wonderful care of my boys..2 shih tzus. I left them for 2 weeks. They were having such a good time I don’t think they even missed me. One needs special care & he got it. Nancy gives that extra touch that makes them feel cared for & loved. I wouldn’t leave them with anyone else even though I had to drive them up from my home in Kill Devil Hills NC. It truly is comforts of home for my boys !
Nancy is wonderful! She loves watching my dog. She used to watch both my dogs. She's very loving and loves animals. Reasonable price too! I would recommend her if your looking for a good boarding accommodations.
Great communication, flexible drop off and pick up times, and most importantly a safe place for our dog. They even celebrated our dog's birthday with special treats! We've used CoH several times, and will continue to do so.
We have used comforts of home plenty of times and everytime we use them its the same service and we are always pleased with how they treat cooper. The employees and the owner nancy always communicate very well with us on what cooper's dietary needs are and any special requests that we have. In the past at other dog daycares we have noticed that cooper always had to use the bathroom when we got home like he has been caged for awhile but when we use comforts of home cooper is always exhausted and tired out I highly recommend them
They are wonderful to work with and love on your pets like they are theirs. I travel from Powhatan to drop my dogs here because I trust them with my babies
They love our dogs as much as we do. We are moving farther away but will definitely use them again
The best home away from home for my pup! He loves it here....it's like he gets a vaca too😊 …
Best care this side of family. Thank you for being there for our furry family.
The staff are wonderful and treated my dog with lots of love!!
From the moment I first spoke to someone on the phone to the day I picked him up, I've never felt more comfortable and safe leaving my sweet Dobby dog with at a doggie hotel! The love they have for pets is so real and present. Dobby came home happy, bathed, and full of energy! I highly recommend our new family at Dog Days Inn! And they gave him a distinguished bow tie!!
I took my Golden Doodle for grooming at Dogs Day Inn. Jess, his groomer, is simply amazing at her job. I really didn't appreciate how talented she is until I had another groomer cut him a few months ago. Her attention to detail, technique, and ability to shape my Doodle's hair is what sets her apart from the rest. If you want a professional cut for your Doodle, call dogs day inn and schedule and appointment with Jess. I promise you will not take your dog anywhere else after you experience her expertise.
Dogs Day Inn is the only place I trust for my dog! While they may not be the newest facility around, the staff's warmth and friendliness more than make up for it. My dog absolutely loves it here and is always happy when I pick her up. At some of the newer places, my dog has come home scared and anxious, but at Dogs Day Inn, she never wants to leave! The care and attention they provide are top-notch, and I know my dog feels safe and loved every time she’s there. If you're looking for a place where your dog will be treated like family, this is it. I can't recommend them enough!
Staff was amazing and fit my Butter in last minute. They are very professional and efficient!
We always board our two dogs here. They come home happy and tired from all the fun. It's the staff that keeps us coming back. The facility is not the newest or best appointed facility in town, but the people make the difference for us.
My dog absolutely loves this place. We had tried multiple other places (for boarding) and I had found that he was incredibly anxious entering and leaving all of those other places. But with Dogs Day Inn I found that Archie has been repeatedly excited to enter and is always happy and not at all anxious when he leaves. It appears that they pay close attention to each dog, and give them love and care while their owners are away! Couldn't recommend it more.
Our doggies seem to always enjoy their kennel stay at DDI. We opt for them to get a bath before pick up. Their fur is so soft with a nice fragrance.
Bradford enjoyed his stay as usual. Great care and personal attention. He’s glad to be home again but will be glad to be back at the next opportunity!
All of the workers are very kind and seem like they know all the dogs by names❣️😊 The groomer is one of the best! Definitely stop by and see for yourself! They are very clean and offer special made treats for your furry babies as well! 🥰 …
Great family oriented services. My babies get boarded and groomed here. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years and I’d dare not dream about taking them anywhere else. My dogs (Dutch Shepherd and a Yorkie) start turning in circles and whining as soon as we pull into the parking lot because of their excitement to go in! I have to tell them to stop it because it’s so annoying 🙄. It was so bad one day I had to call the owner because I was so tickled at their behavior. It’s like instant gratification for them and they know exactly where they’re at. I have recommended this place since I found it back when Paige was the owner, and now that her daughter Kris has taken over I still have the same stance! There’s no place better that I’d trust with my babies. So much so that even my mom started boarding her babies here. Great job to the team! You’ve gained a loyal customer for as long as I’m in the area!!!!
Our puppy Rosie goes to Woofy one day a week and it’s her FAVORITE day of the week. She is always so excited to go and nice and tired when she is done! We have boarded her there as well. Excellent staff, very caring and wouldn’t dream of bringing her anywhere else ❤️
I highly recommend the Woofy Wellness Ranch for daycare and boarding. Our corgi has been going there since 2017 and it is one of his favorite places. The Woofy staff view all of the dogs like family. One thing that we take advantage of is the at home boarding. This is where the dog goes home with a trained Woofy teammate after a day of playing at the ranch. It is nice to be able to relax on vacation and not worry about my dog while he is with the Woofy family.
My dogs love Woofy! They’re always excited to go in, and I know they’re having so much fun when I have to board them. The staff has been so kind and helpful. It’s also such a fun perk that I always get to see updates of them at camp or when I’m on vacation 🤩 …
We can't say enough about how much we love the Woofy's family. Arlo started going to Woofy's when he was just a puppy (2019) and the staff took such good care of him. They all knew his name and totally relieved our anxiety about his size/age. We've since moved away, but we still talk about we much we still miss Woofy's. We still haven't found a new daycare that makes us feel as "part of the family" as Woofy's did. Thanks for everything and all the love and care your staff showed Arlo!
I decided to look for doggie day care for my pup, Riley, after his buddy passed over the rainbow. Riley is a very social dog and has been a bit blue without his buddy. I found Whoofy Wellness Ranch while googling and also that they provide bus service. Riley's first full day was last Thursday when I dropped him off and picked him up. I could tell he had a great time at doggie day care. Today he rode the bus for the first time. Whoofy Wellness Ranch sent me an update text to let me know that Riley settled in on the bus ride and is making more new friends today. I highly recommend Whoofy Wellness Ranch. The staff there is awesome and they love the dogs they care for.
They are the best and the nearby dog picks but also picking up at the ranch works out well when you are traveling back into richmond and want to get your pet. This is a quality organization and they love your pet like their own.
We needed someone to take care of our dog for 8 days while we were out of town. They made sure to get her food and bedding materials, all of which were returned in incredible shape. A wonderful benefit of Woofy is that they post photos on Facebook so we could check on her wellbeing the whole time we were gone. See attached image of how happy she was!
Can you ever really know if your dog is happy when they are away from you? I have never been able to tell...until this gem of a place. My dog loves it, she comes home happy and well worn out from playing hard with dogs her size. When we even drop her off, she's like, "bye" and never looks back. These people love dogs and the dogs love them back. They even take pictures you can see on Facebook every day. One million stars for this amazing place
Our Oakley started going on the woofy bus when he was just a puppy! As he grew up and went through some changes in temperament (increased fear/anxiety) woofy was always a safe space for him. They understand animal behavior and have a safe ratio of humans to dogs. From celebrating birthdays to setting up a secret Santa- woofy really went above and beyond! We have since moved to another state and are on the search for a new daycare- which really made us realize how much trust we had in the woofy staff! We never thought twice about sending Oakley to daycare or boarding there, and he was always so happy to see his friends (especially his bus driver!!). We were so sad to leave woofy- but are happy to have found such a great day school for Oakley to grow up at!
The team at Woofy is fantastic, and really takes the time to make sure every dog has a great stay! My dog had started getting overwhelmed at his previous daycare, but the smaller groups and focused attention from the trained staff had him back to his playful, daycare-loving self from day 1!
In my opinion, this is the best facility by far. The staff are remarkable, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful. The facility is impeccably clean, they go all out on holiday decor. When your pet gets picked up after daycare, he is usually exhausted, a sign he had a very active day.. The boarding facilities are great with different accommodations to choose from, the training staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Only had one grooming session and it was superb. Highly recommend Holiday Barn. Especially if you have a puppy. Bring it in for training and daycare and your puppy will be well socialized and have the basics in training. Every place has issues from time to time, but Holiday Barn is a pristine place, with a remarkable and might add numerous staff,& great accommodations.
Such a great place! My little girls are very shy and sensitive pups they get extremely nervous when we drop them off for vacation and the employees are very friendly and patient with them when we come back we get a little paper that tells us how they were and what they were up to! Such a sweet place!
My dog has attended daycare twice a week at Holiday Barn for about 2 years. She loves all of her counselors and gets excited to go to daycare. We also use their boarding and grooming services regularly. My dog is always wearing a cute bandana after grooming! They are more expensive than other places but the level of service and care for our dog has made it worth it. I also love the extra enrichment activities offered like birthday parties!
When I first started bringing my pet here, I was really happy to have found a place worth the while who took care of my pet. After my 3rd visit is when things started to happen. First incident in May/June, I got the bath/haircut with the itchy scratchy package. Lauren bathed him and his skin became inflamed within 30 minutes of leaving the resort. I called and spoke with Heather, grooming manager, who offered to bathe him again the very next day which I obliged. When I asked about the products used I never got an answer but was told I needed to take my pet to the vet for his allergies. I’m aware of his allergies so I try to combat them both inside with what he eats and outside as far as products used. Second incident was in September where I again, purchased the itchy scratchy package and Brandi bathed him. Yet again, his skin became inflamed and very hot within minutes of leaving the resort. I called and left Heather a message and to date have never received a call back or anything. If I could give 0 stars I would for how negligent they were and not wanting to tell me what the products used are. Again, I’m aware of his allergies so not knowing what’s being used on his skin is why I won’t be returning. $115-130 per visit here has cost me a $300-500 vet bill since nobody wanted to say what the name of the product was or what all is in it to prevent the inflammation from happening.
I had recently been taking my miniature dachshund to Holiday Barn, but I will NEVER bring him back. The first red flag I noticed is that they didn’t feed my dog when I dropped him off for his dog training. I ignored this and kept taking him back. This last visit was the last straw. When my father picked my dog up he looked skinny and he looked nervous and flustered. He was so ready to get out of there and he finally got back to his normal self when we brought him back home. I’m so lucky that nothing terrible has occurred after reading these horror stories. This place is overpriced and they won’t even treat your dog well. If you love your dog don’t have them come to this place.
We took our standard dachshund Mila here after several neighbors recommended Holiday Barn. We only had her for 3 months but had made travel plans over a year earlier to spend a week in France. Boarding her so soon worried us. The staff at Holiday Barn was very kind and helpful from the start with the reservation and vaccine questions. On drop off the staff really put me at ease with how kind they were to Mila. The same great experience was at pickup and we could tell Mila had been in good hands. She was excited to see us but looked great and the same kind staff member i left Mila with was the one the helped us at pick up. She informed us how Mila did all week. They also had great notes and info on how she did at the day camp that we enrolled her in a few times that week. It's great knowing we now have a facility we can trust to leave Mila with when we travel.
I was so nervous and anxious about boarding my 10-year-old cat for the first time; he has recently diagnosed diabetes, which requires daily pills, and boarding him for the week we were out of the country was the only option for us. We went to tour before committing, and they were so welcoming and took us right back to show us everything in person. I was even able to pick the exact kitty condo my boy would have. At drop-off, they let me help set everything up and say goodbye, and weren't judgey at all about all the things and information I brought with him (lol). I was able to text to check in everyday, and they were always prompt with a response! And pictures when I asked! My boy is easily stressed and needed additional medication to help manage the anxiety, but they were so supportive about it. He even came home with some written updates on his stay, which was such a nice surprise! Boarding a cat probably isn't ideal in most cases, but I genuinely feel like they met him where he was and I am so grateful for that. It also meant so much to know he was safe and taken care of, and getting his meds properly while we were gone. I hated being away from him, but I wasn't worried about him. I highly recommend Holiday Barn (we were at the Midlo location)! We couldn't have been more pleased with the whole experience and I'm so relieved to know we have this option in the future!! Thank you all so much for taking such good care of and loving on my sweet boy, Ketch!!!
I don’t understand why this place is allowed to operate and I hope someday soon it’s shut down. In 2021 I sent my two beloved dogs there for a week while I went to the mountains for the only solo vacation I’d taken in years. I called every other day for a check-in, and was told, ‘they’re fine’ rather laconically. I wish I had listened to my gut. When I picked them up both dogs were covered with bloody sores. They had been groomed, and the sores should have been noticed and reported, but no one had apparently paid any attention to them. My big lab - the most extroverted of dogs - was shut down; my smaller dog was shaking. I brought their condition to the attention of the staff, and they sent out a manager, who didn’t apologize, but proceeded to grasp my dogs - who were cowering in the back of my car - to try to position them for photos, until I put myself between him and them and said, ‘Stop touching my dogs.’ When I took them to the vet the next day, my smaller dog had lost a quarter of her body weight - in a week. Since then I have heard horror story upon horror story, from veterinary professionals, trainers and friends. Perhaps the worst came from one of my doctors. HPB sent his dog home with a broken leg and didn’t mention it. I regret not writing this review sooner, but it was an awful memory. My big dog died later that summer, and I have to live with the fact that I left him in that terrible place. Please don’t sent your animals there. I don’t know why they treat animals the way they do, but it isn’t kind, and it’s barely humane. (I’m giving them one star because you can’t post a review without a star and because at least they didn’t return my dogs dead; but please do your research and read all the other reviews on here about all the other traumatized and starved dogs they’ve sent home. Dogs don’t just bounce back from experiences like this. Mine didn’t. Yours won’t. Keep them away from here.)
The only place we'll take our puppies for overnight travel! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The check in process is efficient. The puppies get total pampering with the facilities including private rooms with windows, tvs and bedding from home. A pool and other enrichment available. Our pups even got stockings on Christmas! We have also completed on site training that has been the same amazing experience. Highly recommend!
Great facility. We housed our pup here for three days and he had a great time. They took pictures and answered all questions. They took my phone calls about checking on my Murphy. If they didn’t answer they were prompt in returning my phone calls. Murphy loved to swim. The facility is clean and efficient. Thank you for caring for my baby! After the initial upsetting moment of not taking our old cat, we wanted to give this place another try. We now understand why you didn’t take our cat, I was just frustrated with lack of communication at the time (3 years ago).
