Amanda and Garrett are both awesome! We took our newest dog to Amanda to help us with training back in January/February. She’s so knowledgeable and our dog loves her. The only problem we had with training is US. We’re still a work in progress. We just recently boarded our dog with them. I think she had a better vacation than we did. You can see clearly that they love what they do!

We have always had dogs,mostly sporting dogs. We have tried training, usually through pet stores, without much success. Just recently we did something different and rescued a Dutch shepherd. We tried private training this time and went with Alpha Love Dog Training. Without a doubt, the best decision we could have made. They're knowledge of dog training and behavior is exceptional. Their facility is outstanding, so much so that we will also use them to board our dog. If you want to enjoy your dog at the next level, we highly recommend Alpha Love Dog Training.

My 9 month old standard poodle jumped all over every ONE who would walk through our door. After working with Amanda for just three weeks … wait for it. She didn’t!!! Today, I armed my lunch guests with kibble to broadcast all over the floor when Roxy jumped … she didn’t! She came into the room … and searched the floor for kibble. My guests were at ease and her person (me) was very proud. Amanda has not only helped us with name recognition, focus, place, stay, walking on a loose leash, but helped with our toy poodle who is at home with techniques to aid him with his separation anxiety. There aren’t enough positive expressions I can convey about our experience with Alpha Love Training! We aren’t finished and wanted to wait until we were done before I left a review, but after today’s victory, I had to share! Do yourself a favor and give her a call!

Alpha Love Dog Training has been wonderful with my pup. My pup and I went through training with Amanda and she was patient and taught me so much. I've also boarded several times with her and Mr. G and both are very caring and dedicated to what they do. Their love of animals show in what they do.

Alpha Love brings ALL the love to both training and boarding! I have used them as both my dog trainer and as a boarding facility and can highly recommend them for all of your canine needs. Amanda and Garrett treat my dog as if he were theirs, showing him all the love and respect they would give their own pets. They are great listeners and will tailor their training to YOUR dog and YOUR family's needs. They even incorporated our teenaged children into the lessons so the whole family took ownership of our dog's training journey. When it comes to boarding my dog, I look no further (and it's a 45-minute drive for me). Other kennels left my dog limping, scratching or coughing and I certainly never received an update on their well being. If you are wise enough to board your dog with Alpha Love then you will quickly see how well they treat their visitors and how frequently you will get photos and videos of your pet "vacationing" at their facility. Having worked with Alpha Love for many, many years, I can confidently say that you will not find a better option for practical, effective training or safe, caring boarding.

Our Vet recommended Alpha Love Dog to help us with our 5 yr old dog’s latest anxieties, including separation anxiety. We were so impressed with Amanda as we discussed Maxx’s issue and symptoms over the phone, that we immediately signed up for 4 private lessons. Just after ONE lesson of her suggestions, Maxx’s anxieties started to melt away!! What a huge difference. As we progressed with the lessons, Amanda taught us on how to develop a more confident pup! We now have our happy go lucky pup back again ! Thank you Amanda! We won’t go anywhere else. When in need, we now know where to go to get the proper training WE need to be better dog parents!!

Amanda has been a miracle worker with our fur baby! Our pup was an adult rescue with a number of behavioral issues (poor socialization with dogs and humans, fear, etc), and we were worried that we would never be able to leave him with anyone. Since the first time we went to Alpha Love, Amanda has been amazing with him. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and creative in her work, and we have seen a completely different dog since he has boarded and trained there. There is no one that we trust more with our pup, and he absolutely adores her.

I have been a loyal customer for over 8 years! Amanda (and now Garrett too) treats our dogs the way we would at home. Every time I leave them I know they are safe, treated with love, and having fun in her home with a virtual dog park of a beautiful yard. I can't imagine leaving my dogs at an institutional dog boarding facility; they would be so confused and scared with cages and barking... I receive photo and video updates and believe she knows my dogs' personalities because she spends time getting to know each of them (I have 5). On a personal note, I consider Amanda a friend and have really enjoyed getting to know her over the years. Nothing like the peace of mind leaving your pets with a friend. Highly recommended.

Amanda and Garrett have been great with our high strung, fairly anxious and high energy GSP, and with helping us continue her training. It's so rewarding having her respond correctly to our commands. We've done both board & train and private lessons. Kona is so much better behaved than before, and I have a much better handle on how my behavior reinforces better outcomes. Each time we train with them we learn more about how to work with her to get the best from her.

We had a wonderful experience boarding our pups at Wingmont Kennel. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Our frenchies were well taken care of by the caring and friendly staff. Like many pet parents, our dogs are family and we will make the drive from Richmond to Wingmont for the peace of mind they provided.

Bring your dog here if you want them to socialize with other dogs in a safe way, if you want your dog to be too happy, if you want them to have too much fun in the pool, if you want them to get too healthy from exercise, and if you want them to have too much love from the employees. We love Wingmont and so do our dogs!! I’m starting to think they like it there more than at home. Haha!

I just wanted to thank Wingmont so much for taking such good care of Rj! I was so nervous about leaving him and letting someone else care for him but they did an exceptional job! They didn’t mind my calls to check in, kept me informed and are the most friendly people. Rj left there very happy and healthy! They read him, did what he was comfortable with and he enjoyed every moment. He will be visiting there again in a few months for another week stay. I highly recommend Wingmont kennels for your pets home away from home 😊

They are amazing!! Our dog is always the most happy and the most worn out (good thing about going here)! Sometimes they post pictures on Facebook and he typically smells good, even after staying here for weeks! They even made him a birthday cake once

Best boarding in the greater Richmond area. Been taking our pup here for years and he has always come back exhausted (from playing) and well cared for. Prices are super reasonable and the staff has always been cheery and helpful.

Love Wingmont! Our Weimaraner, Mei, has been coming to Wingmont for boarding since she was a puppy. The staff is always very kind, sensitive to some of her separation anxiety, and does a great job helping me to feel better about the boarding process too! Because of Wingmont's care and attention to our pup, our family feels comfortable when traveling, knowing our girl is in good hands. Thank you to all at Wingmont!

It's the only place I trust to keep my dogs. It's an hour from where I live, but worth the drive.

Super happy with our experience so far. We experimented with taking our Golden, Amory, for an overnight and will definitely be taking him back for longer visits. Everyone was very cordial and they had no problem working with our schedule to let us drop off early and pick up a little late. Amory even came back to us with a cool little handkerchief adornment too. Keep up the great work guys!

Al loves it here! He loves the staff & they love him. He loves playing with the other puppies. It's the 1st time that He's willing to leave my side. We get to a certain point on the road and he knows where he's going, he stands up wags his tail and is ready to get out as if he knows the rest of the way to Wingmont! He is treated like a King! Some days I think he's not going to come home with me. I see him and he has a scarf around his neck he's prancing around and he says bye to the staff, it's adorable!

We recently boarded our six-year-old Mini golden doodle and five month old Mini Bernad doodle. Needless to say they had the absolute best time! We received daily photos of all the dogs playing. Highly recommend!

Our normal boarder was unavailable and we were referred to Pawsitively Purr-fect through the grapevine. Our dog loves other dogs but has been reactive with some other boarders, so finding a new option at the last minute was a challenge. Jacki & JR were the best we’ve worked with, no contest, and have become our new go-to for boarding & daycare. They checked his veterinary records, showed us their home setup (which was a substantial improvement compared to our previous boarder), trialed him through daycare for a couple of days, and then kept him for a full week. They kept up his requested diet, gave him plenty of playtime and rest, and sent plenty of photos and necessary updates throughout his stay. We went for boarding in a pinch and left as new clients excited to bring him back for daycare. I cannot recommend Pawsitively Purr-fect highly enough. Don’t hesitate, just go.

Not only is the owner Jacki so, so sweet and was willing to answer any and all questions I had without hesitation, but they also take the time out of their day to send photos frequently of your pets for you to see what a great time they’re having! My pup has come home happy and worn out every time she has stayed for daycare. I oftentimes feel like she misses it on the days she doesn’t go! 😂. We haven’t boarded with them yet, but have a couple of trips lined up for the summer and have full faith that Jacki and her crew will take great care of our fur baby. 10/10 recommend!

We finally found a daycare/boarding place that we can give 5 stars to! Jax absolutely LOVES going to Jackie's! As soon as we turn on her street, he is pacing the car, ready to get out and go play with his friends! Jax barks at everyone but when Jacki or JR come to the car to get him, no barking! He eagerly jumps in their arms, ready to go! The photos sent twice daily is an added bonus! Jax is our baby, and we can leave him with Jacki and JR and feel 100% comfortable! Highly recommend!!

Dropped our 1 year old lab off for Memorial Day weekend for a three day stay. Lizzy was very reluctant to go in as all the dogs were carrying on and the gentleman who took Lizzy in had to sort of force her into the kennel area. When we came to pick her up, we had to kinda force her into the car as she didn't want to leave!!!! LOL. We received numerous pictures each day and a couple of videos that reflected how well kept the dogs are in their care. They were very communicable, pleasant and we will absolutely use them any and every time we need boarding for our lab!

I was thrilled to find this pet boarding near us for a recent trip. Having a meet and greet with the owner, Jacki, to see the facility and let my dog run around put me at ease. There is a large indoor facility lined with kennels connected to a fenced yard with astroturf and toys. I like that the dogs have free reign to go inside and outside as they please all day (except a few breaks in their kennels to eat, rest, etc.) Jacki was always very responsive via text, and she sent pictures every day (usually 2-3x/day) all the dogs around the yard. My dog came home tired, but content. I will be using Pawsitively Purr-fect in the future.

Amazing!! I really have no other words for Pawsitively purr fect pet sitting. Jackie took such good care of my dog while we were gone! My fur baby is diabetic and needs insulin twice a day. We were updated multiple times a day with Autumns status. I have a hard time trusting anyone to care for her but Jackie was amazing!

My dog, Penny boarded here and had the time of her life! I loved the daily pics and knowing that she was safe and happy. We will definitely be back! Thank y’all so much!!

My two Golden Doodles absolutely love this place! My husband and I also love how they care for our dogs. When we are on the go.It’s great knowing and seeing my dogs are well taken care of is super comforting!!

A friend referred me to Pawsitively Purr-Fect and I'm so glad she did. I have a senior beagle and needed a place for him to board while on vacation. I was so impressed with the Meet and Greet process and tour. I was grateful for the fact that I was given a tour of the whole facility. It was clean and thoughtfully put together. They had nothing to hide, which made me trust them and feel comfortable about leaving my furbaby in their care. All my questions were answered thoroughly. Booking and paying for services is easy. My dog did great. While he was there, I got regular reports and photos so I knew he was having fun and well looked after. I appreciated their attention to my dog's special needs (and my worries.) All the staff I met was curious and friendly. They took excellent care of my boy and I know he will be a regular visitor now.

Don’t call Rover.. Call Sarah!!! I wish everyone were as reliable as Sarah’s team!! They are always there fur my German Shepherd and 2 kitty kats. My pets even appear younger, happier and very relaxed. My Sheppie is almost 8 and since Sarah’s team has been sitting for them, she is so playful and fun like a puppy!!! I am so grateful for all the time and attention they give.. And the pix they send!!! So creative and fabulous!!!! I feel so fortunate to have found these pet loving people!!!

Sarah and her team have been the best caretakers of our animals! We started out with one puppy and weekly walks and playdates for socialization and exercise. When we added another puppy, we added more walks and playdates. My doggies look forward to their time with Sarah, Monika and all the other excellent caregivers. The pics and commentary on their time away just makes my day!!

I cannot say enough about Sarah Sits-N-Stays! Look no further if you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies! We have been using Sarah's company since moving to Richmond in August 2022 and couldn't be happier. My partner and I have very hectic schedules, but we have never been unable to schedule a daily walk and lunch for our dog and cat (even sometimes at the last minute!). We have also used them for overnight visits during weekends we are away. We have never been concerned and always feel safe knowing Sarah's company is taking care of them. They even send pictures and updates every day summarizing their time together. Our dog Teddy is always happy (as you can see!) and well-exercised when we get home. Even our cat, who is not much of a "people person," has warmed up to the staff. We have had nothing but good experiences with all the walkers/sitters, but I would like to give a special shoutout to Madi who is our main walker. She is AMAZING and Teddy absolutely LOVES her! Seriously... look no further if you need a walker or sitter!

I have been using Sarah Sits-N-Stays for dog walking services ever since I adopted my dog last year. Sarah and all the walkers have been absolutely amazing. Sarah made sure my dog was paired with walkers who are comfortable with an energetic, young dog and my dog has gained so much confidence through her daily walks. The walkers are reliable, experienced and communicative. My dog and I are very thankful for all the help!

Could not be more pleased! I am a full time student. The walking schedule is tailored to mine and has been a lifesaver for me and my dog, Pippa! Sarah is organized and attentive—each walker sends an update and usually a picture of Pippa during walks/playtime. Everybody even gives my cat some love too! I highly recommend!

Finding Sarah Sits-N-Stays after moving to Richmond has been such a blessing for our little family! Our sitters have been so patient and understanding with our reactive dog, and always have great communication with us when we are out of town/when they are walking our dog. Our pup absolutely LOVES his dog walk and play time with Monika, our Sarah Sits ‘N Stays dog professional! Tucker, our dog, now literally knows the word “Monika” and “friends” and he gets SO excited when it’s time for his walk and play time! He knows the time and day and gets so happy when it’s closer to pick up. He always comes back tired, and if you have a hyper dog like we do, you know how crucial that is for your own sanity. They do such a good job of taking care of him and prioritize safety. They are also very flexible, when Tucker was having some stomach issues, they totally understood we needed to cancel. We really trust Sarah Sits ‘N Stays with our beloved pup! Also, Monika takes the cutest pics of Tucker!

We started with Sarah Sits-N-Stays during the pandemic, figuring at least one person in our family should socialize. Since then, our doggo has had wonderful adventures every week and is SO excited to see the kind, capable folks who take him along. We're not too big on dogparks so Sarah Sits-N-Stays has keep our dog in the mix with other pups without stressing him (or me) out. I trust the team and love the updates they pass along after every visit. They definitely treat our pup with kindness and he couldn't be happier when he sees them. I recently hired Sarah Sits-N-Stays to take care of my 16 year old cat while we were out of town for a week. This was my first time hiring a pet sitter and I couldn't be happier with the experience. With the Time to Pet application, I am able to upload all the important information regarding Taz's care, including vital medication she needs to have administered daily. I have been bringing my dogs to Four Paws for 20 years - generations of dogs - and they love it. They always eagerly run to the back and come home happy and exhausted. The staff is kind and knows my dogs which feels lovely. We use both the play school and boarding and are very happy with them!

My dog deacon absolutely loves this place! He is ecstatic to arrive at what he knows as the “fun place” and is consistently tired from playing all day when we get home. Staff are fantastic and super friendly - plus they are very reasonably priced! Can’t recommend this place enough! Thank you for providing a fun, safe, place for my dog while I’m at work!

Boomer has been coming here for almost 3 years. He loves it! He gets excited on the way to school as I call it for him. He attends weekly & on some Saturdays, yes on Saturday he will go to school & this allows me time to run errands, clean up or whatever. it’s a great break for him on the weekends. Now their play area is outside so I don’t expect boomer to be without dust or dirt on him. Picking him up reminds me of the days when I would pick up my son on Friday from daycare, dusty, happy & exhausted!! As soon as we walk in the house I pull out the dog wipes. Wipe him down, dinner & he is snoring all night & loud! This place was recommended to me by a friend who has 2 doodles & they were pleased with the care & close location to work. Boomer’s previous daycare was $40 a day! I’m sorry some of you have not had a good experience with Four Paws, however they are family owned in Mechanicsville and supporting local businesses is important. So, if your first experience with them was not what you expected, give them another chance & remember its daycare, kids & fur babies will get dirty, as long as they are happy (& in one piece) then that’s all that matters. Went in on a Saturday to do a tour for possible boarding of our dog. We were told by the gentleman at the front desk they were short staffed and to come back on Monday and the Manager would be able to give us a tour. We made a special trip on Monday, showed up at 3:10pm to be told by a girl at the front desk they only do tours from 10-2. This was not communicated to us at any point on Saturday, nor did we see it posted in the lobby. She wasn’t eventually apologetic about it. We will be finding somewhere else to board.

Four Paws has been amazing for us as first time dog owners who like to travel a few times throughout the year. Our dog loves going there and it’s clear she wants to be there when she sees us turning into the parking lot!

This is repeatedly how our, typically white, dogs have come home, soaking wet and covered in mud. We have asked the staff previously to let us know before pick up if the dogs are muddy and have authorized them to bath them under these circumstances. This not the first time and apparently the staff just walked away when we yet again brought up our dismay at how they handled it. How are you going to have a dirt play yard and send peoples pets unapologetically home like this? I’m so glad we pay to have the dogs at daycare so that we can come home and have to clean the car and give the dogs a bath with no warning.

Piper absolutely loves “playday with friends” she comes 2+ days a week for socializing and to get exercise. Piper is an Aussie and needs this stimulation. She sure gets it here at Four Paws in Ashland. The staff is friendly and very accommodating with a special need if it comes up. Great boarding experience as well. ❤️ piper & parents.

Our dog absolutely loves coming here! All we have to say is “Daycare” and she is ready to go! The staff are friendly and we are so glad to have found Four Paws!

We take both our dogs to 4 paws and they love going there to play with their friends. The staff is great and always happy to see them. We’ve also had our golden doodles stay overnight multiple times and have had a great experience.

Four paws is the best place to take your dog, whether it's for daycare or boarding. They care about each and every dog thats there and promote a great environment for the dogs to socialize, with people and other dogs. You can trust that your dog will come back happy and healthy every time. All the locations are great and Ashland is my favorite.

Before going on a cruise, my family brought in my (almost) 5 year old guinea pig Carl to stay for 2 weeks. The staff immediately fawned over him and treated him like a pet of their own. They gave him great care and attention throughout our time away, and we were comforted by the staff's responsiveness and care. Unfortunately, the morning we were supposed to pick him up, Carl passed away (natural causes). Every staff member at Holiday Barn treated him with the utmost care and respect, seemingly also devastated by our loss as they had bonded with our beloved Carl. They were extremely empathetic - I could not have asked for a better staff to take care of my furry friend, and am grateful that he made some new "friends" in his last weeks. Carl will be dearly missed, and we will surely bring our pets to Holiday Barn in the future. Thank you, Holiday Barn!

Our dog, Reggie, is spending a few days here while we are away. This is his first time away from us, and I think his dad is taking it harder!! Haha. The staff is so sweet, Abby & Shannon, especially. I can't tethe lady at check-in, but she was very nice & thoroughl with all the information. We look forward to enjoying this vacation, while Reggie enjoys his!

Unfortunately I do not have a good experience. I wanted to like this place because they are so close but two things… 1. My dogs never had fleas. Never had a flea in my house until I left them at Holiday. 2. They did not wash my dogs, they knew they didn’t and they still charged me. If they had given them the spa treatment that they said would be done the day I picked them up, it may have taken care of the flea issue. Very dishonest. Trust is broken.

In her first week of day training, my dog's behavior has improved dramatically. She has learned to walk on a leash without pulling and no lunges at other dogs that pass by. Very happy with her progress.

My dog Max has no anxiety about going to the Holiday Barn Pet Resort and he seems happy and relaxed when I pick him up. It is such a comfort to know he is well cared for when I am out of town,

While my old pup was boarding, she got an eye infection. HB staff noticed right away, texted, emailed and called me. They sent pictures and took such good care of her until I could arrange for a friend to take her to the vet. The staff at HB is top notch and I will always recommend!

Love holiday barn! Our sweet puppy has gone here for training and boarding, and he’s LOVED it. He’s gotten a lot calmer (but of course still playful) and responds to commands so well!! Highly recommend, love the staff as well.

Very happy with Holiday Barn for training, boarding, and doggie daycare. We wouldn’t trust our fur baby with anyone else! Compassionate and loving employees who really enjoy being with animals.

Once again. This was the 3rd time I picked up my dog, and he looked like he was lying down in a piss bath. And they bring him to me, looking in terrible. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because I brought him here 3 times and received the exact result each time... I will not come back again.

When dropping my dogs off at 3pm, the receptionist asked what time we would be picking them up. I told her "probably some time in the afternoon". She gave no indication that we would be charged $39.00 per dog for a half day if we picked them up after 1 pm, nor did anyone mention this while I was booking their stay. I also did not see this policy anywhere on the website. So needless to say I am very disappointed in the extra $78 charge that could have been avoided if we would have known to pick them up before 1pm (we got there at 3pm). I called the office the next day to discuss this, and she said somebody would call me back soon. It has been over a week and I never received a phone call. Taking off stars for poor customer service.

This five star review is for the groomer at Pets at Play (can’t speak to daycare or boarding, as I’ve never done either). I have a 9 year old doodle and trust me, finding a groomer who is not only willing to groom your doodle but also does it well and with a good attitude (many get annoyed) is rare. I always leave happy! He does a great job and in my experience $100 for ~the works~ is affordable. So glad to have found him!

Our little dog loves boarding here. She plays with her little dog friends and gets meals on time. Grooming here is first rate. We bring her in every six weeks. There's a new groomer and he's great

My dog loves Pets at Play! I have been taking Ollie to Pets at Play for daycare, overnight boarding and grooming for over a year now. He is a sweet but sensitive dog. Pets at Play is the only dog boarding and grooming place in RVA that he enjoys going to and being at. The groomer is always very thoughtful about grooming Ollie the way I like. She called me before she groomed Ollie just to confirm she knew what I wanted from his cut. Very blessed to have Pets at Play in our lives

When I tell you my baby loves this place!!! He is a mamma's boy, if he doesn't know you he will not go near you. BUT when we come to Pets at Play he runs right through the door to the day care and grooming! He comes home tired from day care so I know he is playing and having fun!!

Only been here a few times but I am now a loyal customer! They must be doing something right, because now every time I walk my dog he tries to pull me in the direction of Pets At Play. He is so ecstatic every time we go, I am starting to bring him there just for fun in addition to out of necessity! Do note: if your dog is over 70 lbs they won’t be able to be boarded overnight due to kennel sizes, but they do wonderfully accommodating larger dogs in daycare! My pup loves Pets At Play!

Came here for their grooming services and was not disappointed! They were polite and informative when I called with questions and were super friendly in person. And they made my pup adorable! Will definitely return for future grooming services and daycare services.

My westie,, Tucker loves this place to play. I think he has a girlfriend there. They are kind, courteous and true animal lovers. This is the only place he’ll play with other dogs as he never plays outside my home with any other dogs male or female.

I booked grooming for my dog a month ago and was very clear (in writing) about his large size (~100 pounds) - they even said it was fine in writing. I drove 40 minutes to get there and as soon as I was pulling into my neighborhood after drop off, the groomer called to say that my dog was too heavy to fit on the table/a leg of the table was breaking. He made sure to mention that it was not my dog's fault at all/he was fine. He said he has been trying to get new equipment for grooming from management but they're refusing. What type of table doesn't hold 100 pounds? I drove for 2 hours total between 7:00am and 9:00am all because they couldn't provide the groomer the correct equipment to provide grooming services to my dog. It's not his fault in my opinion, but if he knew that size would be an issue, they should have let me know well in advance, as I had booked it a month ago. My dog used to go to Pets at Play about two years ago and there were not issues then (and he was around the same weight). Very disappointed in the lack of communication and lack of resources to provide grooming services. A word of advice to management: do not advertise grooming for dogs of all sizes/approve grooming for larger dogs if you cannot actually do it.

We used to be faithful Pets at Play customers for over 3 1/2 years, having taken our 4 year old since she was a puppy, and our 6 month old for a solid year at least two days a week for each. Over that time, we’ve provided them thousands of dollars in revenue, somewhere around $8k-$9k between daycare, baths and the occasional boarding. In March of 2019, we sent our older dog in for her regular daycare appointment and requested she get a bath and her nails trimmed. When we got her home, we noticed she was licking her paw quite a bit and saw one of her nails was badly damaged, split, and beginning to ooze pus. No one at Pets at Play called or told us her nail was damaged, even though they said her nails were cut. We emailed the owner with our concerns and received a call back from an employee, who specifically told me she was calling as to not cause any confusion, but they could not get their story straight. To me, it sounds like they didn’t want a paper trail of any potential responsibility. One person said the nails were cut, then the groomer said they did not need to be cut. If the nails got cut, why did no one tell us they damaged her nail? If they did not need to get cut, that obviously means you checked them all, right? And if you saw one was damaged, why were we never told? Whatever the case, our dog went to daycare just fine, but left with a badly damaged nail which required sedation and surgery the next day to the tune of $275 in vet bills. Whether our dog’s nails were cut, Pets at Play was negligent at best, and deceptive at worst in trying to conceal or claim ignorance of her injury. Finally, to add insult to injury (literally), I went into their online system that weekend to cancel the next two daycare reservations (because our dog needed to be at home to recover from surgery), and they had deleted all of her reservations for the next year without telling us. I never said anything to them, so why would they delete our standing reservations? It doesn’t seem like a good business practice to alienate loyal customers as we have been for years. The way Pets at Play treated our dog, my wife and me is no way to treat loyal customers. We’ve always enjoyed taking our dogs to Pets at Play for daycare and boarding, but I no longer have any faith in how they treat us or our dogs. We will not be returning, nor can I recommend their services.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful PETs at PLAY is! Dixie knows when I say "want to go see your friends" exactly where she is going and doesn't even look back when we hit the door! That is how I know, PETs at PLAY is the absolute BEST. Dixie has only ever stayed the night in her entire 11 years with my parents, PETs at PLAY and me. I LOVE the emailed pictures throughout the day of her literally smiling and having fun! I am particular because she is such an important part of my life and choosing a daycare and place to board seemed impossible until we experienced PETs at PLAY. Dixie's excitement when talking about, going to and spending time here is exactly why PETs at PLAY will be the only place we go!

We’ve only used them twice but both times have been great. The staff is friendly and welcoming. My dog always seems to have a great time and comes back happy and wiped out. The only thing I wish was different was the option to add photos/videos while the dogs are there. I totally understand that the staff is busy but just would love to see my pup while away. Regardless we will totally be using their service again…in fact we’ve already booked our next reservation!

We started bringing my Standard Poodle here for grooming about a year ago, when there was a wait to get with the mobile pet groomer. It was supposed to be a one-time thing, but Ashlyn does such a great job that she has become our permanent groomer. Our Poodle is large - 72 lbs, and she does a wonderful job all over. She's always open to new ideas and is very pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Hanover Your Pet for grooming!

First time boarding my unfriendly cat with Hanover Your Pet. The staff was friendly and showed me the cat room where she would stay. Facility was very clean and there were a few cats already there along with many dogs by the sound of them!! The price was reasonable and was $15.00 per day less than the one behind Hanover Green Veterinary clinic!! I would happily take my cat there again and recommend them!

Took my two pups here to board them for a weekend. They got lots of attention, lots of playtime, and we're well taken care of and fed. I will definitely bring my dogs back.

Boarded my cat here for 7 days, called on the 2nd day to check on her & they told me she had the sniffles, to which I told them to call me if it got any worse. My phone broke after this, but there was another number on file plus the emergency contact. My cat didn't eat THE LAST 4 DAYS she was in their care & they didn’t call either of the numbers. Got her back dehydrated and starving and covered in drool, her breath smelled terrible and the vet believes her kidneys started to fail, waiting on bloodwork results. We believe she will recover but she ate immediately when she came home & this has never happened before when boarding her at other places so it’s hard to believe this wasn’t incompetence. They also forgot to give me back her blanket and wet food cover that I had to go back for. Failed to communicate on so many levels professionally and medically, will never be back. Please take this as a warning to not bring your cat here

We recently boarded our dog here for 4 days. He came home with kennel cough. My biggest issue is with the lack of communication from staff. When we picked him up he was obviously not well yet they had him running around with other dogs outside. Staff said nothing to us. I find it hard to believe they did not notice the symptoms.

Our Collie and Golden Retriever love it here! They stayed for 9 days while we were on vacation. We paid extra for pool time everyday and they loved it. The cost for boarding is very reasonable. The day care rate seems a little high, but the dogs are happy so we use it when we need to. Staff is great! Manager is awesome! Overall 2 thumbs up. Haven't used the grooming services yet, but just might try them next time!

We've used several boarding places for our pup, but this one is our favorite. We've really had great experiences boarding our dog, Brooke, here. Their groomers also do a fantastic job with her as well!

My wife and I began using Premier at the beginning of this year. Their service has been incredible. Corgi Bob and his kitty brother Mallow have been in the most excellent of hands. Premier and its employees have always been on time and each visit comes with photos, an email about their adventures and a report about what was taken care of. Martha has been an angel when it comes to helping me fix my scheduling mistakes. I cannot rave about this company or its employees enough!!

I have used Premiere Petsitting and Dog Walking RVA 5 times and have been extremely happy with the service they provide. I always feel at ease and have “peace of mind” knowing that my 14 year old antisocial cat is well taken care of by several different pet sitters. I am always updated every day when they arrive and leave with notes as to what has been done for her and her wellbeing. I would highly recommend this company to everyone needing a reliable, good pet sitter.

Have been using Premier Pets for years and have nothing but great things to say about them. On one visit, my cat was sick and the sitter, in communication with me (in Mexico) and the the Owner, Martha Geiger, took my cat to the emergency vet after hours. Everything turned out fine.

Premiere was a great help to me with my dog EV. Their Time to Pet app is a way to keep track of visits and get a nice summary of your pet's behavior. You also get some lovely photos. The staff was always communicative and kind. I would absolutely use them again.

We were nervous about leaving our two cats for 8 days. They are very attached to us and haven't been around other people very much. Martha, the professional and compassionate owner of Premiere Petsitting, assigned cat-lover Kerensa as our main sitter. As soon as she came for the meet and greet, our worries dissipated. She was friendly and warm - we knew our kitties would be in good hands. She, along with another lovely sitter, Lillian, sent us twice daily updates with photos. It was such a relief not to worry how our kitties were doing - the reports we received put our minds at ease during our trip. Martha utilizes a mobile app for her business that makes it easy to check on your schedule, messages, and invoices. I would not hesitate to recommend Premiere Petsitting to anyone. We will definitely use Martha and her excellent team again in the future!

This was the first time I've used a pet sitting service & I was a little concerned about how my cat would handle someone else taking care of him. I needn't have worried! Katie took such great care of our fur baby that I think he was somewhat disappointed upon our return!..lol. I especially appreciated the report & pics after every visit. Many thanks to Martha who was able to accommodate my last minute request & enabled us to really relax and enjoy our vacation. Highly recommend!

Our family has been using Premiere Petsitting for years. Their portal makes scheduling and communication a breeze, and the reports from the sitters, with lots of photos, are always informative and friendly. They clearly care about the animals they are taking care of.

We hired Martha and Premiere Petsitting to watch our cats while we were on a 26 day vacation. Before we left Martha came over and took notes on all the details about care and feeding of our cats and how to gain entry to our house. We received daily email updates from Premiere including photos. In addition, they watered our plants and collected the mail. We were extremely pleased and will hire them again next month. I highly recommend them.

Absolutely adore this doggy daycare. First, kudos to them for their required human tour. Aspens been to several doggy daycares and NEVER have I seen the inside of one. Our tour was at 10-11am, so there were already dozens of dogs there. The facilities are so beautiful, clean, and organized, AND they are staffed 24/7! I am obsessed! They are incredibly attentive to the dogs and truly seem to love their jobs. I’m very happy with my decision to move Aspen to Toby Town. They work with my crazy EMS hours on the weekend, allowing Aspen to be dropped off early for a small fee. They also have pools for the water lovers, like Aspen, which is so fun for her. I’m so happy with Toby Town and am thrilled to have found her such a caring, compassionate, and safe daycare!

Our 12 year old adapted Labrador, Bogey, loves Toby Town! Every time he comes home he can't stop talking about what a wonderful stay he had and how kind and attentive all of the staff members were to him. He loves the amenities, the indoor and outdoor play areas, the optional snacks and the overall cleanliness. Suffice to say, if Bogey is happy, we are happy with Toby Town!

Our pup has had a great time here and comes home exhausted. They offer amenities that can make your life easier (baths, etc). Place runs like a well oiled machine and go in get plenty of pics at the end of the day!

My husband and I bring our boy Murphy to Toby Town once a week. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. He always looks SO happy and as soon as he sees where we are going in the morning, he is crying out of excitement. I feel bad for the morning worker (I’m so sorry!) who grabs him because he is literally a wild man jumping out of the car to go play. Every worker is incredibly kind and really care about your dog. Tobytown is by far the BEST daycare and boarding facility in Richmond, VA. Gloria and her staff truly care about the dogs and their safety and comfort. It is the ONLY dog care facility you can walk in that does not smell AT ALL! No odor in any room or outdoor area. We leave our dog for long stays and he comes home happy and healthy. Tobytown posts lots of facebook and IG pictures to see how your dog is doing for daycare and lengthy stays. We appreciate Tobytown so much!

Best day care ever! Every single staff member works hard to cater to your dogs needs. My dog Charlie absolutely loves it. He has a little bit of separation anxiety and they care for him so well. They are friendly during pick up and drop off and they will work with you on times and days! Toby Town is kind, friendly, clean and safe for your dog. I wish I could give every staff member a hug because they take care of my dog so well. I am so thankful I found Toby Town! Absolutely Amazing!

I have small dogs and was a daycare novice prior to Toby Town. With a new puppy I wanted to make sure she was socialized so I began looking at daycares for her. After visiting several facilities I chose Toby Town because it was clean, bright and seemed to be staffed with grown ups. I liked that they didn't use crates and seemed to want to meet the needs of the pups first vs the needs of the facility. Having my puppy at Toby Town has been a great experience- the staff is consistent and communicative, and I feel like they keep an eye on her (as she's only 8 lbs). Quite honestly, she is the best dog and people socialized of my pack and I feel I have Toby Town to thank for that.

Best dog daycare in the area!!! We have tried several dog boarding options, and we believe Toby town has the most personal care and is the best value for what you pay. I don’t know how they have collected so many wonderful staff members, but we enjoy all our interactions with the employees and owner!! They remember my dog Wally and talk about how it went at the end of the weekend.

The staff at Toby Town are fabulous. My pup loves spending the day or several nights at Toby Town, and I always know she'll get great care. It's a great place to take your dog for day care and boarding.

Toby Town is amazing! My dog Titan loves to go there and they take great care of him. The place is beautiful and cleaner than any human day care center!! Gloria, the owner, treats my dog as if he were her own. I wouldn't hesitate to board him there because someone is always there to watch out for him. I can't recommend this facility enough!

I cannot say enough good things about four paws. My dog genuinely loves it here and you can tell the people love her too. Molly is one of my dog’s favorite people and she is always so excited to see her. I am so grateful for this place.

Bugsy loves going to Four Paws on Hamilton Street in Richmond! They are very kind and gentle with him when we arrive. The staff eased him into the yard during his first visit. Now, he can't wait to play with all of his new doggie friends and it seems that when it's time to go home he wants to stay longer. I feel at ease knowing he is with people who care so much about the doggies under their care!

Since moving to the area, Four Paws has been such a gift for me and my golden. She is always eager to jump out of the car and run inside when she realizes we are heading there for daycare. It is so convenient to be able to board her there as well, with people, pets, and surroundings she is comfortable and familiar with. When it comes to our pet needs, there’s no one we trust more than the kind and helpful staff at Four Paws in the Fan 🙂

My dog Dexter has been going to Four paws fan location since he was a puppy. I love the fact that he gets to play all day, unlike some daycares that keep them caged most of the day. Dex loves it there. It’s his second favorite place to be (home is first of course). The employees are very nice, but most importantly, I like the way they treat Dexter.

I cannot say enough about how incredible the staff at Four Paws is. My sweet boy is an anxious guy and he absolutely loves going to hang out at daycare. Emma, Bailey, and Ericka have always been so welcoming and informative - we’re very grateful to have found them after moving to the area.

I have been pleasantly surprised by Four Paws! Their Hamilton St. location is just down the street from my new job. I took our Bichon, Finn, there for day care because we had just moved to the area and I wasn't sure about leaving him home all day. They took great care of him and he seemed happy at the end of the day. I also just recently used their boarding services when we went out of town for a few days. Again, they took great care of him. The staff are very friendly and genuinely love dogs. :-) I always know that Finn is in good hands there. I also appreciate their very reasonable and affordable prices. Four Paws is 100% Finn-approved! (see attached picture)

We just started here and love it! My dog, noodles, has come home so tired in the best way when I pick her up! Also love they have an indoor area for rainy days.

My pup has been going to Four Paws for almost a year now and he loves it! He only goes a twice a week for daycare, but as soon as we pull into the parking lot his tail starts going crazy and he's itching to go play with all his friends. We also board him here when we travel out of town and it gives me such a peace of mind to know that he's playing constantly when I'm gone and being cared for so well. All the staff is so kind and easy to work with!

I have taken way too long to leave this review! WE LOVE FOUR PAWS! Angus has so much fun and gets to run and play for hours on end. The first day we brought him, they managed to convince him to let them cut his nails (and charged nothing for the first time), which was 1) an amazing first impression and 2) a huge relief for a dog mom tired of wrestling with a 65 pound scaredy cat. He left that day completely tuckered out, which was beautiful. They send pictures often and give updates on how his day went whenever I come to pick him up. Such sweet humans, and a service worth every penny. Highly recommended!
