Kelly was a wonderful pet sitter and house sitter! Our dog Cooper adored her. She sent us pictures several times a day and he was always snuggling with her. She kept in touch with us regularly. We have never left our baby before and we were anxious about it but we ended up feeling totally comfortable with Cooper in Kelly’s care. She also kept our potted plants alive during a heat wave and took great care of the house. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.
Sharon was a fantastic sitter for our week away! She left the house as tidy and clean as we left it, including changing the sheets for our arrival. I truly cannot even tell she was here and that made coming home after a long travel day so much easier. She was communicative every step of the way and provided daily updates on our cat with photos. We knew our home and pet were in good hands! I would gladly welcome Sharon back any time should we be so lucky : )
Monique was very nice and easy to schedule with. She sent us pictures of our dog Maisie while we were away, which we enjoyed seeing. Maisie was well cared for and had gotten plenty of exercise by the time we got home. The house was spotless, which was lovely to come home to! She had taken the trash and recycling bins out, even though we hadn’t mentioned them to her before we left. She made sure to let us know if anything was amiss so there were no surprises when we returned. Would definitely recommend her as a pet and house sitter for others. :)
Angie and Joe have been our go-to pet sitters for our dogs, Cooper and Kona, on multiple occasions, and they consistently deliver exceptional care. Each time we've entrusted our pups to their care, Angie and Joe have gone above and beyond to ensure their well-being. Their genuine love for animals has always left us worry-free and able to fully enjoy our time away. Cooper and Kona's excitement whenever they see Angie and Joe speaks volumes about the bond they've formed. We sincerely recommend Angie and Joe to anyone seeking reliable and caring pet sitters.
Lindsay and Bryce provided excellent care to our two cats while we were gone. They are great communicators, took amazing care of our apartment and send regular updates and photos so that we knew all was going well. We would absolutely recommend them as responsible and thoughtful pet sitters who can be entrusted with the care of your home and pets.
Kyle was a great house sitter and pet sitter for us. We had a good dialogue prior to him sitting for us, and we also did a short walkthrough the week before. Kyle formed a great bond with our dog Charlie and also took good care of our rabbit Poppy. A couple of minor issues came up with systems in our home due to an unexpected power outage, and Kyle was quick to connect with us and then was able to work 1:1 with the service providers to resolve the issues. We look forward to working with Kyle again.
I have had 4 pet sitters this year so far. And Liz was the best! She was wonderful with cats. She has an easy going manner and is very comfortable to be around. Very smart and she is a great communicator. She followed all directions and left the house spotless. I highly, highly, highly recommend her! I would have her again anytime!
Janis is a wonderful person and also an incredible sitter -- we were very, very fortunate that she agreed to care for our beloved pets and rural log home for 3 days. We were confident that everything would be perfect – and it was. We returned to a home as clean and ordered as we had left it, inside and out. All plants were thriving; outdoor hanging baskets were blooming profusely. Most importantly, our beloved dog and 4 cherished cats had obviously been lovingly and attentively cared for. The koi were also active and happy. Janis is a “cat whisperer”. She is especially skilled and patient with shy felines, so we truly appreciated her patience and caring for our sweet Angie (with a semi-feral background). Janis immediately understood that Angie, despite her reclusiveness, craves affection and was able to start to earn her trust even with such limited time. Among Janis’ many gifts: she is a talented photographer and delighted us with frequent updates and photos of our furry children. They are so beautiful that we, with her kind permission, plan to include several in our zeewoi profile. Janis’ communications, reliability, self-sufficiency, and punctuality were exemplary, start to finish. We made a wonderful new friend and have already invited her back to sit again. If you are privileged enough to ever have Janis sit we are certain that you will be as delighted and happy as we are.
Jerry and Suzanne were absolutely ideal sitters for our home and pets. We spoke with them ahead of their visit and could tell that they are genuine pet and travel lovers. Over their stay we got to see even more that they are wonderfully friendly, kind, and responsible - plus they kept us laughing with their updates and descriptions of our pets' antics while we were away. Our pets and plants were well loved and our house was spotless upon our return home, and they were even kind enough to leave a few goodies in the fridge. Our dog in particular seemed to miss them and their long walks around the neighborhood. Thank you Jerry and Suzanne! We wish you well in your travels!

I have brought my dog Koda here to be groomed twice. I am trained to groom, but my busy schedule makes it tricky to find the time. Koda is an Akita, so he gets a bath and a deshed blowout. I was very pleased the first visit, as he was very well groomed, all of his undercoat was removed, and my boy barely shed for weeks afterwards. He was also treated exceptionally well by the groomer and the customer service was unmatched. He was a very happy dog! However, the second time we got him groomed here, I think there was a different groomer on staff. She was just as kind, nice, and professional, but when I picked Koda up he was still covered in hair and was still damp. His feet were wet enough to make marks on the sidewalks outside and on the seats of my car. When I got home, I had to give him another blowout with my own velocity dryer to get the remainder of the undercoat out and off of him and to finish drying him off. I was saddened at this second groom because his first one was so well done.
Norman had a great time at the Indian River Pet Resort. They gave him his favorite treat every night before bed. His routine stayed the same so coming home was not a huge adjustment. Thank you to the staff for taking g such great care of Norman! I highly recommend!
We love Indian River Pet Resort. This was the first time we've left our dog and it was great knowing he was there. Brad and his crew are the best.
Indian River Pet Resort's team is absolutely wonderful! I brought my shy Australian Shepherd here for a 2-week stay and she not only made friends with the team of ladies, but it sounds like she also had fun. Plus, they groomed her and she's so soft now! I really appreciate the team for answering all my questions and helping me book my dog's stay rather last minute. I also appreciated the live video stream of my dog's kennel while she was there. I had so much comfort that I knew she was safe and well cared for while I was on vacation. I will be taking my dog back when needed.
We miss you all at Indian River Pet Resort! Roux is no longer with us due to old age, but I want to let anyone looking for someone to take care of their pet, hands down your the best. We never worried about our old boy. ❤️
Our two kitties had a cat condo vacation while we were away. They were happy and relaxed when we picked them up. The cat room is tidy and roomy with really nice cat condos that have climbing and privacy shelves and food and cat box books.
What a great place, our Scruffer is a senior pekingese ,we were very nervous about leaving him for 10 days especially since he hasn't been boarded for 4yrs, the vet is next door and we signed permission to treat if needed. His kennel(4x8) had no access to Webcam but was able to text every day, and he was doing great. We live in The UP of MI was on our way to Detroit. They even bathed him and washed his bed and blanket since he was there more than 7 days. Great staff. Very happy all went well.
My husband and I booked 4 days at the “pet resort” here for our dogs to have quality, stress-free care while at our own wedding last October. With all the wedding prep, we didn’t want to question our dog’s safety. We were so excited to see them, but it turned out to be no fun at all. Right when we walked in, the lady at the front told us that she had to move one of our Boston terriers to a different cage (we had no clue of this). I was shocked and confused - we had left a list of phone numbers to call (our own and other family members who would answer 24/7 since it was our wedding weekend). She assured us that this was okay because it was an “indoor/ outdoor” cage. Our poor boy Boston terrier (who has anxiety) was separated from his sister for reasons they couldn’t explain and they said they couldn’t take him out, hence the indoor and outdoor cage. Our boy came back smelling like urine, along with his bed and toys we left him. At home, he doesn’t use a doggy door, so he probably had no idea that he was allowed to go outside on his own. When we pay for a service, we expect that it’s complete and that just didn’t happen here. Indian River Pet Resort gave up on our dog, put him in a cage for the whole weekend, and let him pee on himself. The lady at the front even said “he might have peed on himself!” because she could smell it too. I was beside myself. What are we supposed to say to that? Leaving your dogs is one of the hardest things to do; they are family. And it’s even worse picking them up in this condition. Guaranteed they wouldn’t treat any of their own dogs this way. We left the dogs with toys and a scooper in their food too - when we picked them up, the scooper was gone; just careless. I would skip this place and try somewhere else. I don’t think any pet parent would find it worth it. We left heartbroken.
We love taking our sweet pups here and have been for a few years! They are so patient and understanding and go above and beyond to care for our furry family member. Vixie always comes home tired out from all the fun she has! Our pups was a rescue with some quirks and we cannot express how much we appreciate their patient care! I wanted to update my review, which will always be 5 stars, and add that they are amazing! Great care next door at the veterinarian too! Highly recommend this place, they treat your pet like family. ❤
Last year, when my relatives/cat care started leaving for the winter, I sought out a kennel that could take my cat when I travelled for more than a couple days. I didn't know if there was such a thing in my area of Northern Michigan. I was aware of Indian River Pet Resort, so it was one that I visited. And I discovered that they have a dedicated and secure cat room with individual and spacious "kitty condos" that are sight and sound separated from the dog area. I tried my cat there and ended up boarding her there several times for up to ten days. This place has been an absolute godsend!!! It's modern, clean, reasonably priced, very accommodating and the staff provides great affectionate care for Sugar every time. She shows no nervousness about arriving there or any issues on pick up. I give IR Pet Resort my highest recommendation! P.S. When I'm there, the dogs out in the large fenced in yard appear to be having a ball playing with each other and the dog kennels inside are very large and secure looking too.
