Leslie consistently demonstrated outstanding communication skills, both initially and throughout the entire process, and I would gladly give her more stars if possible. Leslie arrived as scheduled, and instantly the animals fell in love with her and Bennie. Our cats love our dogs but usually won't come in the house when a strange dog is here but they didnt even hesitate to come meet Bennie. Bennie was very calm and a true gentleman. Leslie sent pictures throughout the sit reassuring us the gang were all getting along and enjoying her and Bennie's company. She read through the welcome guide before we left as well as we showed her around. It was very nice getting the chance to know her a bit before we ledt the following morning. We felt very comfortable knowing our home and pets were in good hands. It is very apparent when you meet Leslie that she truly does love animals. When our Molly decided to hide, Leslie called us right away because she feared Molly may have gotten spooked by a firework going off in the neighborhood and escaped under the gate. I felt so bad for Leslie because she blamed herself because it was on her watch. I have trackers on all my pets and it turned out that Molly was still in the house and just hiding really well. She can curl up.pretty small. Lealie took our Lab to check the walking route and see if Molly was there. When I called and told her Molly had to be at the house because her tracker showed her there, she returned to our home and Molly hreeted her as she came in the front door. I was very appreciative of Leslie's phone call though because she didnt wait hours to call, she searched the yard and house and called right away. We decided to cut our trip short a day and asked Leslie if she minded if we came home a day early. We let her know we didnt expect her to leave early and made sure she was comfortable with our decision. As a pet parent, it is imperative that we remember the sitters are also on vacation and we didnt want to intrude on her time. As it turned out, we ended up stopping by the ER on our way home where my husband was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. Unfortunately we had both the RV and my car and I needed to figure out how to get them home. I reached out to Leslie who offerred to give me a ride back to the hospital after I dropped o e vehicle off at home so I could retrieve the second vehicle. BTW, the surgeon was able to repair my hubbys aneurysm and he will be coming home soon. Leslie was a comfort during this frightening time and even stayed an extra day to help out and care for our home and pets. She was a teue blessing. Leslie left the house spotless along with so.e fresh flowers for me when I got back from visiting my husband. If you get an opportunity to host Leslie in your home, rest assured your home and pets will be well loved and well taken care of. We.would welcome.Leslie back anytime. She is not just a pet sitter, she is a new trusted friend.
Abi and David were FABULOUS pet sitters during our 5-day trip. They were devoted and fun dog walkers, park-goers and ball throwers. They communicated well and sent pictures. And when we got home, the house looked great, and the dogs looked calm. We would gladly have them. Sit for us again and highly recommend them.
Meg was a dream pet sitter for my three year old labradoodle. She gave him nice long walks and was very organized, communicative and tidy. I look forward to another opportunity to have Meg in my home!
Kyle was a great house sitter and pet sitter for us. We had a good dialogue prior to him sitting for us, and we also did a short walkthrough the week before. Kyle formed a great bond with our dog Charlie and also took good care of our rabbit Poppy. A couple of minor issues came up with systems in our home due to an unexpected power outage, and Kyle was quick to connect with us and then was able to work 1:1 with the service providers to resolve the issues. We look forward to working with Kyle again.
Carolina was a fantastic Pet sitter. From the beginning, it was straightforward to communicate with her. She met us before we left our trip and ensured she understood all the house and pet logistics. Luna and Cal were very comfortable with her and were best friends with her fast. She was very affectionate with them, and Luna and Cal loved her and were very happy with her. Carolina was very responsive and sent updates. She was really lovely and easy to communicate with. She was very respectful of our space and very tidy. She even washed the sheets and towels she used even when she didn’t need to. She put a lot of care into caring for Luna and Cal, and they looked very comfortable with her. Having Carolina as a pet sitter made our trip very easy, knowing our pets were cared for so well. We would love to have her back to sit for us again and highly recommend her.
Duncan was an excellent pet sitter and looked after our old girl Cookie really well.
Melissa did an AWESOME job with our 4 pets! Her personal style and communication via text, video, and pics were stellar and super comforting while we were out of town for 2 weeks. She showed up before the sit to go over instructions for the pet care and was even here when we returned (before she left for her next engagement). You would never know this was her first TH sit. She quickly earned our trust, asked for clarification when needed, and overall is just a GREAT PERSON!! Her kindness showed through in the care of each and every one of our furry babies. She will be a great sitter for others and is looking to travel across and see more of the US while remote working. We have adopted her into our family and she is welcome in our home anytime. Our whole family hopes to see her again-either for a visit and/or for a sit :) Thank you, Thank you, Melissa!!!
I have had 4 pet sitters this year so far. And Liz was the best! She was wonderful with cats. She has an easy going manner and is very comfortable to be around. Very smart and she is a great communicator. She followed all directions and left the house spotless. I highly, highly, highly recommend her! I would have her again anytime!
Angela and Joe are wonderful house and pet sitters sitters in every way. They have a great loving way with animals and my shy dog warmed up to them right away. They are warm, organized, confident, and thorough. They communicated very well and gave me frequent updates and sweet photos of my dog Chica. They also took excellent care of my home. My only regret was that I didn't get to spend more time with them, because they're such lovely and interesting people. I give Angela and Joe my highest recommendation and feel that anyone would be very lucky to have them their sitters! I hope that they return to sit here again.

We have two German shepherds (2 and 3 years old). We needed a place for them to stay for a couple days on pretty short notice. Lori (Golden Amore) was available and I am SO glad. Our dogs can be protective and even a little scary and I was pretty worried. But Lori was amazing with them. She updated me and sent pics throughout their stay. I will gladly utilize her service again and recommend her to other dog parents!
A friend recommended Golden Amore (Lori) and we are so grateful. We have two ENERGETIC bird dogs who need lots of exercise and Lori did her best to wear them out each day. They were treated like family which makes it much easier to leave them. Both dogs did great with her. Lori sent occasional photos and updates on how they were doing. We will definitely will use Golden Amore again!
My sweet Ruby has stayed with Lori @ Golden Amore while we were away on several occasion's. She is treated like she is one of the family. She loves Lori! We do too. I wouldn't leave my dog with anyone else. It is so comforting to this "dog mama" to know my dog is being cared for with such love while I am away. I highly recommend Golden Amore!
I have boarded my dog Misha at a variety of places over the years. Golden Amore was by far the best experience. Our dog was happy and calm when we picked her up! Lori gave her lots of attention and kept us updated on how she was doing. She’s an older girl so we always worry about boarding her. She came home acting like a puppy! We will definitely be returning. Thank you, Lori!
We recently needed a place for our Sheppard to stay while we were away. A friend recommended Lori and we are so thankful. Our pup did great with her, and she sent daily photos and updates on how he was doing. We will definitely use Golden Amore again!
The owner, Lori, is a very sweet lady who does everything she can to love your dogs as her own. We were gone for about a week, and she gave regular updates on how our dogs were doing (quick text messages). We have some rescue-project furbabbies that don't warm too quickly and are anxious. By the end of the week, Lori was able to have some one-on-one time with each dog... whereas at the beginning, all they did was bark at her. She only has 7 kennels, so it's a much smaller/laid back vibe than other boarders. You pay up front, which was different than other outfits, but her pricing is fair... if your willing to go the extra mile into the outskirts of Estacada.
What an amazing experience!! My dog absolutely loved it here. He was treated as if he was their own❤️❤️❤️ I was so comfortable with my fur baby in their care! I would recommend Golfenamore to all my friends and family. I feel so great full that I have found a safe and loving place for my fur baby to go when I travel. Thank you 😊 😊 …
I am a crazy dog Mom. I was so worried to board my three for the first time ever. Lori was very welcoming, explained everything, and answered my thousand questions. It was great that all three dogs could be together for comfort. My crazy labradors were kept exercised and happy the whole time they were there. We got lots of fun videos and text from Lori to put our minds at ease. We are so lucky to have found a place that we feel safe and can create a long term relationship with. Thank you again Golden Amore!!!
Golden Amore is an outstanding dog boarding/day care facility. I had a bad experience with a previous boarding place and Lori made sure that she kept in touch with me and kept me updated on how well my dog was doing! My pup and I both had a great experience here and highly recommend it. Gives me peace of mind that she is able to check on the dogs 24/7 through her camera system as well!
We boarded our dogs for the first time ever (both rescues adopted during COVID) last month and have reserved kennel space for our next trip already. Lori is awesome and keeps you posted about your dogs while you're gone. Our dogs were happy and secure, and very comfortable there! One dog is pretty easy going, but our other dog is on the anxious side, so we had doubts about how it would go, but she was totally happy and did great. The indoor kennel area is spacious, everything is labeled, and dogs have the ability to go in and out on turf as they please through dog doors. It's also a low key environment with a huge separate fenced area for the dogs that need to RUN. Lori also understands that not all dogs like a huge pack environment even if they are dog friendly, so you won't have to worry about your dog having any issues with any other dogs while you're gone. We can finally get out of town and not have to worry about the dogs being taken care of, we know they're in great hands with Lori!
I only have experience with grooming there and not any other services. Staff is always courteous and tries to listen to my specific requests for a dog cut. I’m not good at keeping up maintenance brushing, so my dog is often matted and haircuts are often shorter than I’d like. However, they generally look okay. There have been a few instances when my dog’s haircut was odd or uneven. Once she had hair left long on her paws while the rest of her body was short. She’s not a poodle or even a doodle. She’s a sheepdog. Once her face was cut short. Also, I keep asking that they don’t trim her eyelashes during haircuts and almost every time her eyelashes are cut short with her face hair. Stupid thing to be upset about, especially when I know my dog isn’t easy to groom (there’s a reason I don’t do it myself), but so sad to see that. Last time her nails weren’t trimmed with her cut. No big deal, I can do the nails by myself, but if I pay for a full groom, I assume nails get done, too. This means that I didn’t realize her nails weren’t trimmed until next time I went to trim them myself and they were longer than usual. Now I’m going to have to work on receding the quick to a more appropriate length. Overall I’m reasonably satisfied with the grooming services. My dog doesn’t love going, but who does. The place appears clean, but it always smells horrific and is overwhelmingly loud with all the dog barking. It’s a bit of a stressful experience. Sometimes I take my girl elsewhere, because I keep looking for a better fit, but for now I keep coming back. The positive is that they’re usually pretty quick. My girl is almost always ready within a couple of hours. It’s about as much time as it would take me to groom her, so I feel confident she isn’t sitting around there, caged up. They’re usually pretty good about reminder calls the day before the groom. I’ve only had one time when I didn’t get a call about our Monday appointment. I called early in the morning to make sure the appointment was still happening. The price is reasonable but on the higher end of average, about $115-130 for a medium sized dog with double coat that’s frequently neglected (the coat, not the dog. Dog is loved and spoiled). Not loving the place, but people are really nice. I don’t have much negative to say, really. While I’m on the lookout for alternatives, I’ll keep coming back. I won’t hesitate to switch if we find a quieter place with comparable pricing and haircut quality.
I boarded my two German Sherpards for two nights. I returned to see two happy healthy dogs. However, when I returned home I was confronted with a limping dog. Upon further investigation he was bit several times on his leg. He was bleeding and had open wounds. I was told by the staff he tried jumping a fence. Well I am not a physicist , but this did not compute within my brain. He was bitten several times and I was stuck with a +$200 dollar bill. I support local businesses and prefer them to large corporate venues. However , after my reply from the owner I will seek other accommodations. If you value your pets welfare walk in and smell the place. You too will see it’s not worth it to save a few bucks to know your family member isn’t safe! I hope all animal lovers review this and understand that in my opinion this pet location isn’t safe for your loved ones!!!!
Our dog LOVES playing at Mt Hood Pet Resort! We use them for daycare, boarding and grooming. Amazing, friendly folks there and I have nothing but the best things to say. Highly recommend!
My dog Sage had such a fun time when she stayed here. She was so exhausted when I picked her up. This was back in September when I used them. I will be looking into daycare soon
This was our first visit and it was wonderful! Their self serve dog wash area was clean and very welcoming. They provided shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaner, a drying station, towels and a variety of brushes. Very happy with the level of customer service that was provided and the ease of being able to come in and wash my dogs. I highly recommend this location!
Highly recommend! Always accommodating and do great work getting my two labs groomed and takes great care of my one who needs extra care with her nails. My Gunner boy and Daisy girl always come out happy and so handsome and pretty. I’d give 10 stars if I could :)
I’ve taken my dog to this place for grooming at least 4 or 5 times and every time have left unsatisfied. Today was the straw that broke the camels back. Every time I’ve been there the prices go up, and they don’t tell you that until the service has been done and you’re picking up your dog. In the year we’ve gone here the price went from $70 to $90. I make sure to be clear about what needs to be done and every time I come to pick up my dog, his cut is either choppy or he still has matting they didn’t get. Today, he left with dreadlocks in the places I told them to get, and they had cut his paw to the point he bled on our car seats. Who in their right mind charges $90 to half hazardly groom a 25lb dog? This place is not worth going to and the smell of ammonia is so strong, it doesn’t seem healthy for anyone to be in the building.
Very good care of our Jolene! Good people that know dogs! Jolene looks forward to going !
My first experience with them went smooth and she looked great. The second visit it looked like they barely trimmed her and did not cut her nails. Decided to give them another shot because of the first cut. I arrive at my appointment that we scheduled at 9am (I always drop her in the morning if you look at my groom history). This means she scheduled it wrong time slot while doing it when I made it months ago. The guy then told me with the 11 appt she would be done by 1 because I have work. That is false they always take 3 hours to groom her. He then offered to take her back and make her sit in a kennel for hours even though they advertise they won’t be in kennels, they are. I drive far to come to a groomer that is not worth it after this experience. Sure hope all the clientele I sent your way doesn’t have to deal with this. Also better coach your employees on personable customer service.
My little guys live going here.
We have been using Mindy every Tuesday for about a year. I can hardly tell you how excited Cooper is every Tuesday morning. We actually think he knows when it’s Tuesday. She’s always on time, always concerned about safety and health of our dog, and is always fun to talk with. If we have concerns about Cooper, she will always offer ideas for the questions that we have. Our group of dogs were well curated by her. They are quite the pack! If she had the time, we would also use her dogsitting and occasional private training. dog Adventures NW has been an outstanding company. They are definitely busy which reflects how good their services is. When there are times when they can’t meet our need, they will give us a long list of other companies who may be able to. That shows great integrity. I looked at a couple of companies before hiring this one. I am very pleased with their services and Mindy in particular Mindy also has taken some of our favorite pictures of Cooper
We absolutely adore Kerry and her Puppy Play & Learn program! Our little Honey joined the shy and tiny puppies day, and it has done so much for her confidence and socialization! When she first started out a couple months ago, she coexisted with other pups but in general much preferred human company. Now, she's so excited when we drop her off and she loves playing and zooming with her new friends. We can't thank Kerry enough for her knowledge, care, and attention with our little puppy – it truly takes a village! We wholeheartedly recommend Puppy Play & Learn to anyone looking for attentive one-on-one care for their young pup.
I seriously can’t say enough good things about our experience with Kira and Dog Adventures Northwest. It’s hard to believe that this combination of training expertise, and flexibility with my schedule exists, but here we are! Kira sends us regular updates and pictures, and also gives us suggestions about gear and how to work with Jupiter at home to maximize his benefit. With Kira Jupiter gets more than just an outlet for his sillies, as Kira would say, but also a highly structured and evidence based approach to training. We honestly could not ask for anything more!
I previously posted rave reviews for DANW for my high energy love bug Norman the Bernedoodle. Our family has grown and four months ago we rescued a Goldendoodle who is pretty severely vision impaired and on medication for seizures. The rescue told us she was very limited in her physical abilities because she can't really see... When she arrived she just wanted to play with her brother and I of course called Kerry because I trust her expertise and knowledge. I was torn because I wanted Goldie to be able to be a dog, but scared because we were warned she was limited in her abilities. Kerry spent time with Goldie and reassured me that we just had to trust Goldie to be a dog and that she could learn to compensate and rely on her other senses. Enter Alex (Norman's favorite human who doesn't live with him). Goldie started adventuring with her brother and with Alex's patience and love has become such a capable and confident pup. At first she was very hesitant walking on the different ground or when she would come in contact with bushes and shrubs. Her brother Norman would bump into her to keep her on the trail and sometimes Goldie would hold onto his tail. Alex would carry Goldie when she was unsure about walking and he was so patient with her as she found her footing. When Goldie needed to just stand by Alex to get more comfortable he would talk with her and pet her. Now she is able to run and chase after Norman and she is becoming more interested in playing with the other dogs on her adventures too! She's living her best life and is so sporty now. She recently jumped over a log on a hike right after her brother and I cried because I never thought she'd be able to do so. DANW is the most wonderful fabulous company and the people who work there are the best and love our dogs as much as we do!
From pet sitting to puppy playdates to dog training, my experiences with DANW have been nothing short of amazing! The staff is super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. My dogs can hardly contain their excitement when they realize it's time for another fun-filled adventure with the awesome folks at DANW!
I'm going to dig in here for the people who are struggling with a new puppy or young dog. Kerry welcomed us into her Puppy Play and Learn Program to try and help our dachshund, Henry socialize more and to potentially identify and sooth his quirks and anxiety. He's an awkward guy with the sweetest heart but quite frankly, we'd been to a few other establishments that offer both play and training and we did not find our match. Those experiences made me feel like a 'problem parent' and instead of assimilating him into the pack- he was isolated to practice being alone in another room in a strange place while he could hear other dogs playing and definitely came home more anxious and misunderstood and it was expensive. Like anyone else in this position you throw money at what you hope will stick and it's overwhelming. Henry loves other dogs and being part of the pack and we didn't even know that until we found our spot. Our experience at Dog Adventures NW could not have been more different. The first thing Kerry said to me via email was "He sounds like a real turkey which is just my type!". This felt like a life ring and a big warm blanket rolled in one. Henry adores Kerry and was perfectly matched to his group and we have done the 'add on training' at noon 4-5 times thus far and I can guarantee we've made significant head way each time. The one on one training has been as helpful for me because our dynamic was off and some crummy patterns were set into motion early in his puppyhood. I needed the support as much (or more) as Henry does and together we are totally finding our way. I went from crying multiple times a week (it was really bad) to getting into a rhythm that I almost did not think was possible. I have also fallen for Kerry and her professionalism, pragmatism, brilliant canine training and experience. Puppy Play and Learn is not doggie daycare. It's an incredibly balanced morning of all the things these dogs need to be on their way to awesome pets. It feels like a luxury but it is our necessity. When Henry sees Kerry- the sound he makes is like no other sound he ever makes. She speaks his language and I've adopted the lessons (training) he's learned each time he goes and we get better together. I read an awful stat the other day that said "In the US, 4,000,000 puppies come home each year and 3,000,000 of those are put up for adoption. I'm proud to say we've been officially saved from becoming part of that hideous equation when we were almost there. Henry is 10.5 months and we love each other more each day. It's been a slow burn with this puppy and we didn't sweep each other off our feet immediately which devastated me. We finally have our support system firmly in place thanks to Dog Adventures NW. Our family is so grateful to Kerry and her business will ALWAYS be in our lives. Grateful forever!! Michelle, Chris and Henry. XO
Our dog has been going on adventures for almost two years now! He's a doodle with all that crazy energy and he's TIRED after his adventures! We've been working with UB the whole time and they're AWESOME! Always super communicative, they send the best write ups with pictures. UB has also been super accommodating with our dog who doesn't love other dogs. Our boy gets to ride shotgun in their truck! If you're looking for a way to get your dog exercise with a trainer you can trust, I can't recommend Dog Adventures Northwest and UB enough!
I cannot recommend Dog Adventures NW enough. Mindy, Clara and Jackson have all been incredible to work with. We have two dogs with really different needs. For overnight sitting, it's been hard to find someone that we can trust given that one of our dogs is not only reactive but has quite a few health issues. I know that he's in great hands with Clara—we can't even say Clara around the house without them running to the door and getting excited. Our dogs trust her and love her, it's hard not to get jealous! She's incredibly patient and you can tell that she really loves spending time with them and it's mutual. Mindy has been absolutely amazing with our other pup who goes out on adventures. It can take a minute for her to warm up to new people but she waits at the door every Monday for her pick up—so excited to spend the day with her friends. She does a great job of bringing her out of her shell, encouraging play and working on her other skills. We have full trust in DANW team of trainers, knowing that they promote force-free and positive reinforcement training and treat our dogs like their own. I wish we could give them 10 stars.
My daughter found Dog Adventures Northwest when I was ill and could not care for my 13 month old puppy. He spent almost 6 weeks with Kerri and I can’t say enough good things about her training and boarding. They took him right into their family and loved him like their own. He was taken on all kinds of adventures from the coffee shop to the beach. He was offered all kinds of new experiences and as a result is an amazingly well-socialized puppy. No matter if I was at home or hospital, Kerri would bring him to see me whenever I asked. She took him for puppy check-ups and vaccinations. She drove across Portland to all of our locations without one complaint. He became use to car rides as well as park adventures. My puppy returned to me as a good tempered, very social teenager🙃. I don’t regret one penny of all my puppy and I gained. Sometimes you don’t realize what a gift you have been given until it is over.
Our pup has been going on adventures with U.b. and having the time of her life! U.b is super communicative, and they send us the most awesome pup updates and photos! They have gone out of their way to make sure our shy pup has a good experience in the car and we couldn't be more grateful! Thank you, U.b!!
My sweet girl Jett loves going to Critter Nanny. I take her 5 days a week while I am at work. She is loved and gets good play time with other dogs.
If we mention the name of one of our puppy's friends at Critter Nanny, Jazzy will run to the door and want to go. She loves the place! It has been an awesome place for her to learn socialization skills. We call it puppy Disneyland. Nancy and Jim have a wealth of information when it comes to dogs. We trust them with our puppy and the choices they make regarding Jazz, like how they choose to mix our pup with other puppies/dogs. We highly recommend Critter Nanny for daycare or boarding!
Very thorough intake process that made me feel that I was leaving my dogs in the best care. Very reasonably priced compared to in-home care, and my dogs came home happy! Will be using their services again on my next vacation.
Jim and Nancy have been a life savor for taking care of our doodle! She wags with happiness as soon as we turn down their drive way and every time she sees Jim its like the first time- she never wants to come home. I love that I know she is in good hands while I'm at work and she always comes home tired, thirsty, and happy! So happy to of found someone local who I can trust with my girl. Jim and Nancy are communicative, kind, dependable, and flexible. So grateful for critter nanny in our routine!
For many years, our dogs have stayed with Critter Nanny while we are out of town. Jim and Nancy do a great job and are very conscientious about all the details. Our pets are always well cared for and have a chance to play with compatible dogs, so it is fun for them. Our boxer, who has passed away, used to get excited when the suitcases came out because she knew she was going Critter Nanny and would get to play with new dogs.
Our family has called on Jim & Nancy many times a year for six years for care of two dogs and one kitty. Each detail from drop-off to pick-up has been carefully thought out to make the experience enjoyable and low-stress. I know I can count on them to pay attention to details, handle surprises, and report back how well my pet adjusted. I recommend Critter Nanny to anyone!
We used Critter Nanny for many years and found them outstanding in every way. Our little dog, Daisy, spent many vacations there. As soon as we started up the driveway, Daisy would go 'nuts' wagging her tail and making a fool of herself. I have recently recommended a friend without any reservations of trusting Jim and Nancy. I wish some of the hotels we stay at were as nice as this facility! A real Bed and Breafast for your pet. ,
We ❤️ Critter Nanny! We ran into a situation where we couldn’t take our pups with us on vacation and forced with the decision to board them. From Facebook reviews, we decided to give Critter Nanny a chance and are extremely happy with our decision. I had this anxious feeling during our entire stay, never had boarded our dogs before and was SO excited to pick them up and expected them to share in this excitement, apparently I was the only one because they loved their stay SO much they didn’t want to come back to boring old home. They are currently passed out, so exhausted from their week of fun that they could care less that they are back with their actual family, probably dreaming of all the play they had, wishing they were back at Critter Nanny’s! This family owned business has my support, if ever we are in need again... We may just find that the next time we need a vacation we will be thinking of our next no doggies allowed destination just so they can their vacation too!
Jim and Nancy are the most compassionate, empathetic people I have ever met. Trusting them with our beloved pets is a no brainer! When we have to leave them we are confident they are happy and well cared for. We appreciate knowing that they are available when we need a safe, loving, healthy pet lodge when we travel.
These owners have the biggest hearts. My special needs, senior dog is pampered! Jim & Nancy are meticulous in the care of the pets & management of their business. Absolutely recommend.
