Providing Pet Sitting in the Burt, Michigan
Mature Responsible Female Sitter
MaryAnn is definitely a pet and house sitter you can trust to be there for you and your pet. We video chatted with her before her sit and felt very comfortable with not having to meet her in person before we headed on our travels. It was obvious she fell in love with our cat Stella enjoying all the cuddles especially at the end of the day. MaryAnn sent photos of our cat everyday and texted right away if there were any concerns. She left our home clean and cozy just as we left it. We feel so fortunate to have had MaryAnn in our home with our cat and would highly recommend her!

Not all dog lovers can care for the large breed dogs. You can't just pick them up to fix a problem. And they tend to drool. Betsy was just marvelous with Byron. He likes to get out to walk or ride around in the car. He is a nosy thing. Betsy was able to find his best self. She sent lots of pictures. The house looked the same as we left it. I could not ask for more. We appreciated all she did to allow us to take a vacation without worry.

Care taker extraordinaire
We loved having Joy stay at out home while we were away. She was great at communicating with us, took good care of our pets and left our home clean when we returned. Would gladly have Joy house sit again anytime. Highly recommend!

Caring, respectful, experienced house sitter to keep your fur babies company.
Annie befriended Katherine within minutes of her arrival and was curled up where Katherine had slept when we returned home. She was a very content kitty. Annie’s only special need is a thorough daily brushing; the lack of mats in her fur when we returned told us that she had been well cared for. We’re pleased that Katherine will be coming back for another sit next spring.

Looking to babysit the world's most cutest pets ever.
Tammy was incredible with communication. She asked and took daily photos and texts of our pets while we were away. We came home to an immaculately cleaned home (I can't even clean it to the level we came home to!!!) Tammy had dinner ready for us when we arrived home. The night we got home my dogs were calm and confused where to sleep, hence I KNEW they loved her being with them. I cannot recommend her enough! We were truly blessed to have her care for our dogs, chickens and home.

Kelly was flawless, she was a fantastic pet sitter and house sitter. She was over communicating with pictures and updates. We were at total peace knowing Kelly was overseeing Leo and Bella. Kelly connected with our dogs perfectly. We loved how Kelly daily took our dogs for walks and even an extended hikes. She has our full and complete recommendation.
Monique was very nice and easy to schedule with. She sent us pictures of our dog Maisie while we were away, which we enjoyed seeing. Maisie was well cared for and had gotten plenty of exercise by the time we got home. The house was spotless, which was lovely to come home to! She had taken the trash and recycling bins out, even though we hadn’t mentioned them to her before we left. She made sure to let us know if anything was amiss so there were no surprises when we returned. Would definitely recommend her as a pet and house sitter for others. :)
Lindsay and Bryce provided excellent care to our two cats while we were gone. They are great communicators, took amazing care of our apartment and send regular updates and photos so that we knew all was going well. We would absolutely recommend them as responsible and thoughtful pet sitters who can be entrusted with the care of your home and pets.
Great pet care. The house was clean and tidy. The sitters had great communication. Would recommend again!
Not only did our pets enjoy meeting Kelly and Christopher, my husband and I enjoyed meeting them as well! They are personable and kind, organized and communicative, and most of all excellent pet sitters. Kelly and Chris are attentive housesitters. They went out of their way to connect with our dogs, especially Smitty, our rescue. The dogs were walked, brushed, and played with throughout the weeklong sit. They sent pics of how our fur babies were doing and truly seemed to enjoy their time with them. The peace of mind that comes with great house sitters who care for your precious pups and the home you love is priceless. Thank you once again, Kelly and Christopher! We hope to see you again!
Carolina was a fantastic Pet sitter. From the beginning, it was straightforward to communicate with her. She met us before we left our trip and ensured she understood all the house and pet logistics. Luna and Cal were very comfortable with her and were best friends with her fast. She was very affectionate with them, and Luna and Cal loved her and were very happy with her. Carolina was very responsive and sent updates. She was really lovely and easy to communicate with. She was very respectful of our space and very tidy. She even washed the sheets and towels she used even when she didn’t need to. She put a lot of care into caring for Luna and Cal, and they looked very comfortable with her. Having Carolina as a pet sitter made our trip very easy, knowing our pets were cared for so well. We would love to have her back to sit for us again and highly recommend her.
Toby and we were SO lucky to have Tom be our home and pet sitter for our Thanksgiving Holiday trip! From the very beginning Tom was responsive and communicative. He was even able to arrange a "meet and greet" with us and Toby before beginning his stay. While here Tom took great care of our home, and, most importantly, provided wonderful care of Toby! When we got home everything was in perfect order and we could tell that even though Toby was happy to see us he was going to miss Tom. I would be thrilled if we could have Tom as our zeewoi again. You will be lucky if he can do the same for you. :)
Laura is hands down the best sitter that we have ever had care for our pets and house! Having her stay made our trip away so care free and added a super fun layer of getting her daily (morning and night!) updates with photos and videos, some were hilarious I love Laura’s sense of humor! We were gone 8 days and when’s we arrived home our house was cleaner than when we left, mail on the counter, yard was picked up, it was beyond what we would expect. This made our first day back so easy. Oh’ and our pets were so relaxed and happy we knew they were loved and taken care of while we were away. Laura knew that we were coming home late and she even had bought a yummy quiche, rolls, fruit and juice so that we had breakfast in the morning! Laura is responsive, a great communicator, I could go on but simply put she is welcome at our house anytime. Simply the best!! Thank you tons Laura!!
Anna was the perfect sitter for Tali, Mac and Sox. From the first moment we met Anna we all got on extremely well and we had no worries about leaving our pets in her safe hands. Anna gave them loads of fun time and company, lovely walks and snuggles in front of the TV. Thanks for all the fun we had before and after the sit too. We would not hesitate to recommend Anna for any sit.

The place is a walking disaster. No matter walk direction you look in. It’s a complete mess. You would think someone running a business would be proud of there place. Kennels were clean but other than that. Disaster
Took my yorkie back for the first time in several years. New management has it back to the wonderful place it used to be. He comes out happy and prancing around and looking so good. As did his best friend!!
I've been going to a walk in the woods for many years. My shih tzu Stanley just loves his Teresa and the owner is great too. I have no worries when I drop him off for his hair appointment as they treat him like one of their own. We won't go anywhere else, so if I have to wait for an appointment that's what we do. 🥰🥰 …
I took my dog to get her nails trimmed. The groomer was awesome. The people at the desk didn’t want to be bothered with me and my dog. Just making change irritated them. Eye rolling because I asked questions. If they treat me poorly how would they treat my dog when I’m not there? I won’t go back.
I had a family emergency that happened on a weekend. I called after they were closed on a Saturday, and left a message explaining my situation. Someone called me back within the hour and said they would come in on Sunday morning for us ( they don't normally take pets for boarding on Sunday), and they got him in without a problem. He was very happy when we picked him up, and they were very very easy to work with and kind. In addition, it cost about half what we were expecting. We will definitely be back!
A walk in the woods did a wonderful job taking care of my fur babies. I am very satisfied with how they cared for my pups. I will definitely be recommending them to friends and family if they need someone to care for their dogs.
I have seen good reviews about this place but they were very rude to my mom and me, and my dog is terrified after coming home from there. She will not go off of our porch when we let her outside or come out of the closet when she is inside, and she is NEVER like that after an appointment with her usual groomer. The only reason I booked here is because my usual place was booked for a few months. The grooming job was good, but very questionable service. I recommend going somewhere else.
They are absolutely wonderful. They do our grooming and kennel our fur babies. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. We’ve been with them for 14 years, through past ownership and new, and the quality of service is wonderful. My dogs aren’t young anymore, and we have medication and joint issues to deal with, and they are fantastic with them. They are always impeccably groomed and well taken care of. I can’t recommend them enough.
We’ve been taking our dogs here for years while we take the kids to Splash Village. Good treatment of dogs, attentive of special requests, great overall doggy hotel. They have a groomer too, so you can get them a bath and a trim during their stay. The “spa” treatment during their doggy vacation! Near I-75, Frankenmuth, and Birch Run.
We have been talking our Mini-Daschund here off and on since she was 6 months old. We love it! When our dog was 6 months old, we were new puppy parents and concerned about her first boarding experience. The staff called us at different intervals to update us on how our puppy was doing, even giving her a little extra-special treatment! And it's been a happy place for Brandy (our fur daughter) ever since! We are from the Detroit area, and it's a perfect spot to board her along the way if we are traveling somewhere that doesn't allow pets. We would highly recommend A WALK IN THE WOODS KENNEL for boarding services <3.
They are so good with our Dottie! We completely trust them with her always! Borton's is the best as far as we are concerned in dog daycare/boarding/grooming 🥰 …
Maggie stayed here last year. What a wonderful fun time she had. She stayed for several days and got to know and be socialised with other dogs. Last day there she was beautifully groomed. Must have been a big job, Maggie isa Gt Pyr. Will go again for sure.
10/10 definitely recommend. I’ve been struggling for years to find a reliable, trustworthy groomer for my Aussie mix Jessie, but Becky and Brett are absolutely amazing! They took my baby in last minute and helped relieve her of her mats. They treated her like she was their own and answered every single question I had. they are very genuine people and now a days that’s hard to come by. I will definitely be coming back!!!!
I take my long haired golden doodle here for grooming quite often and won’t take him anywhere else! The owners are so friendly and accommodating. My dog is pretty hyper and jumps sometimes but they’re so patient with him. Fast, effective, and reliable. Lastly, they’re very very affordable for the quality of work they do.
I have taken my Layla twice now for grooming. This couple are so caring takes care of my baby. She smiles when she is done with her spa treatments. My baby is a little old lady so it takes a little effort and patience to groom her since she doesn't always wants to stand up but they take the time to make sure she is comfortable. I didn't know about this shop till one day when I had my girl at the vet (Heritage on N Genesee) and Becky and I started chatting while we waited out turn. When I got home of course I checked for reviews and nothing but good to say about this wonderful family owned business. Try them I'm sure you will be delighted
I couldn't be more pleased with the care Borton’s provides for my dog. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the team operates with the utmost kindness and professionalism. They treat every dog with genuine love and affection, making each visit a joy for my furry baby. I always feel reassured knowing my dog is in such capable and caring hands. Highly recommend Borton for anyone seeking exceptional dog care!
What a gem of a place! I'm a truck driver with a dog in the truck. She desperately needed her nails trimmed. I happened to be delivering just 1/2 mile down the road. I did a quick Google search for dog groomers nearby. I found this place and called because they were still open, but closed in only a few minutes. I was joyfully greeted and I made arrangements to possibly stop by in the morning on my way out of town. A couple minutes later I received a call back and was told the groomer would wait. If I wanted to walk down and get it done now. I said I would, and I took off on foot. My dog had other ideas, it was too hot for her to walk. 80% of the way. When I arrived, I was drenched! They took my dog, gave me a paper towel to wipe the sweat out of my eyes, and even offered an ice cold bottle of water! To top it off, I was offered a ride back to my truck. I gladly accepted. So anytime I'm back in this area, and in need of any nail trims, gland expression, or doggy bath, I will definitely stop in. And anybody who needs the same should do the same!. Thank you very much! And Finley's nails look wonderful. You did an amazing job.
Our 7 month old pup Ollie got his first haircut today at Borton’s! From the phone call to schedule, to the drop off, to the pickup they could not have been more friendly, accommodating, or kind. Becky was super sweet, Bret was very personable and Ollie looks and smells great! We are thankful to have found such a great place to take our little dude.
I can't say enough good things about Bortons. We've been brining Roman here for a year and the care and attention he receives is amazing. They do an excellent job of ensuring that the right dogs are paired together. Keep up the great work!
I take my dog Coojoe to get his nails done here every month. The people & dogs are really friendly. Thinking about a playdate for him sometime in the near future
This the very first time we have boared our fur baby and a friend recamended Butternut Creek Kennels. At first he was unsure what to think. But he warmed up to the care takers. They took great care of our boy and he was happy to see his momand & dad. Not bad pricing either
My dog was scared to go there in the first place. I brought her some anxiety medicine for that reason. They didn’t give it to her and then tried to tell me that she tried to bite when taken out of her kennel. When I said “she bite someone?” They said “oh no, she just snarled and didn’t want to come out of the crate.” Well, she was scared. The male owner in my opinion was a bit rude when I picked her up trying to act like my dog was aggressive and she’s not…she’ll lick you to death. Now back at home my dog is acting a little scared…like she had been mistreated. I was already told they used one of those long poles to yank her out of her cage. For people that are supposedly animal lovers and trainers I am kinda disappointed. Luckily they had a lady that worked for them that said she tried to take care of my dog and go in and talk to her…and my dog licked her…because the lady was friendly. Dogs can sense people…thankfully that one lady was kind to our fur baby
We chose Butternut creek for our first time ever boarding. Our 5 year old English bulldog has a lot of needs and is very anxious. They did an amazing job. He had a stress related incident shortly after dropping him off, and had labored breathing. They called us and then stayed with him through it and treated him as their own until he was able to calm down. Could not ask for a better place or better people to care for our furry family member when we could not be there!
I have been taking my dogs here for 25 years. Great people, great service and all of my dogs have liked going there. I would (and have) highly recommend boarding your dogs here. You won’t be disappointed.
Great Kennel! Our dogs love going there. We can enjoy our trips knowing our pups are in good hands.
We board our Boston terrier (Reggie) at butternut Creek. Always know he will be well taken care of. Sometimes when we pick him up not sure he wants to go home.(lol) Dan & Ann are carrying individuals who really want the best for your pet.
When I called you check on availability and rates, I was asked the breed of my dog and when I mentioned that pitbull was one of his breeds her tone changed and asked "are we going to be able to handle him?" more was said after that. YOU ARE CLEARLY in the wrong field when ANY breed can be a problem!! I would NOT suggest letting this woman "care" for your pets!
Best boarding facilities for our two German Shorthairs. Dan and Ann are both very experienced and knowledgeable at handling all breeds of dogs. I wouldn’t trust my boys with anyone else!
Very good care . Used them for years and have had no issues. Our dog Lizzy gets excited to go there. They took extra care when our Lizzy was taking medication. Very friendly . I would highly recommend
Excellent people! Very knowledgeable and caring. They handle my litte jackrat when no one else will take him. The place is clean and the dogs are well taken care of.
