Dependable, trustworthy, empathetic, caring.
Tim was an excellent sitter from start to finish. He was kind, organized, and followed through on all home tasks. The house was very clean on my return, and my plants were thriving. I'd love to have him back and anyone would be lucky to have him! Thanks Tim!

Caring, Loving Travel Couple
Caitlin and Lawrence were great! They were able to come over the day before we left and we had dinner together and we were able to get to know them even more and show them everything they needed to know about Clara and our home. They sent us lovely pictures of Clara enjoying her time while we were away. When we got back the house was super clean and they left us a nice plant to start our garden with this summer. We would definitely have them in our home again.

Full time traveler experienced in caring for rescue dogs and cats.
I am so fortunate to have found Alanna to take care of my cat while I went on a nine week trip to Mexico in my van. My cat was a little more complicated to care for because he was diagnosed with IBD just before I left. He thrived under Alanna’s care. He almost gained a full pound while I was gone, which is amazing for a cat with this diagnosis. It’s speak volumes about Alanna as a care provider. She was 100% attentive to all of his needs. She sent me pictures and communicated with me almost daily. I really can’t say enough good about her. She was neat and clean and took such great care of my condo, which is a second home, that she is welcome to come back anytime to stay if she wants to vacation in Seattle. I think my cat misses her. I’m POSITIVE that I miss her. I hope to see her again in the near future!

I'm thoughtful, tidy and kind. Great with pets, farm animals and plants too!
I can’t say enough good things about Losida. She was on top of everything, kind, tidy, fun, and took excellent care of our dogs and house.

An artistic couple who travel often. Kind, reliable, resourceful and delightful.
Doria and Markus were absolutely exceptional pet sitters in every way! They are both kind, respectful people with excellent communication skills and with so much love in their hearts for our two dogs! Our home was clean and tidy when we returned and our dogs were relaxed and clearly well loved and well cared for. Our newly planted flowers were also well cared for and the instructions we left were clearly read and followed. We feel very grateful to have found such wonderful people to house/pet sit for us and definitely hope they will return! We would give them much more than five stars as they are top notch in every way, including being WONDERFUL human beings who bring great energy and joy to this planet! Thank you Doria and Markus!!!!

Solo traveler trecking the globe!
Kyle was such a great sitter for our two cats, Buffy and Milo, while we were gone for a month hiking the John Muir Trail. He proved very self-sufficient, which was super important for us since we were hiking and out of cell service for most of the time. Something that stood out was his adaptability. A summer storm knocked out power for two days and Kyle took it in stride. Most importantly, we came home to two happy cats and a tidy apartment. If you are looking for a sitter, look no further than Kyle.

Happy, clean, animal loving family!
Sarah and Caleb were great! Easy to communicate with and took excellent care of Banksy. They checked in regularly and left the house clean and tidy upon return. I’d have them come and stay again anytime.
Kate was an absolute dream and was the best pet sitter I could have possibly asked for! Kate was extremely trustworthy, communicative, and reliable, and provided frequent updates while I was away. She left my apartment spotlessly clean and even took the initiative to fix my wobbly towel bar. Finally, Kate took excellent care of my cat Daisy and I came home to a happy and content cat! Kate was amazing all around and I would be thrilled to have her sit for me again at any time. Thanks for everything!
Kelly was flawless, she was a fantastic pet sitter and house sitter. She was over communicating with pictures and updates. We were at total peace knowing Kelly was overseeing Leo and Bella. Kelly connected with our dogs perfectly. We loved how Kelly daily took our dogs for walks and even an extended hikes. She has our full and complete recommendation.
Leslie and Kyle set the bar for all other pet sitters! On the first morning of their stay my cat got out due to a faulty window in my apartment and they handled the situation so well. Leslie sent a text explaining what happened and that my cat had returned safely and she was so calm about the whole thing that it put me at ease for the rest of my trip. Kyle went above and beyond and not only fixed the window screen (he actually fixed two screens during their stay!) but also made sure the window was secure until maintenance could come and fix the issue. Their go with the flow attitude was amazing. I would 100% have them sit for me again! I can not recommend them enough. You would be lucky to have Leslie and Kyle as your sitters :)
We were lucky to have Andrea back for another sit with our elderly dog and feral cat. She has been wonderful both in the past and on this last sit for a month! We trust her implicitly and are always at ease that our pets will have the most kind and careful attention. She is excellent with videos and communication and very clean and tidy. Again we feel lucky to have found her, and feel she would be a great sitter for any pets!
This was the 3rd time that Jill sat for us. That says it all but please read our previous reviews. They all stand and Jill is one of the best and most reliable and loving pet sitters we’ve ever had. If you have a chance to have her in your home and caring for your pets, you will be absolutely delighted. We love her.
Leah was an excellent pet sitter and take care of our home when we were on vacation. Our dogs were sad when she left. She even made us some delicious tacos when we got home from the airport! We highly recommend her!
Duncan was an excellent pet sitter and looked after our old girl Cookie really well.
Deboraj took great care of the apartment and of our goofy unsociable cat. She went out of her way to bring catnip and make friends with Rowan. She communicated often and cared to be as good a house and pet sitter as could be. I can gladly recommend her highly to anyone else looking. Thank you Deborah.
Gowri was very patient and caring with Irisi who got sick the day before I left. I cannot commend her enough for how she rose to the occasion and took care of my baby. She even pick up meds from the vet. My cat, Squinty, was very comfortable with her to jump in bed and wake her up early in the morning (as he would with me). I am not aware of him doing that to other sitters that have stayed at my place. I would give her 6 stars for Pet care if I can! She updated me with Irisi's condition which really help ease my mind, knowing someone looking after my furry really cared. I would certainly have her back again!
What an amazing couple we had as pet sitters for our two dogs! You can truly feel their love for animals. Nancy sent pictures a couple of times letting us know that they were having fun also with our Cody and Carson! Our home was perfect when we got home. They even left a beautiful potted flower and card on our island in our kitchen. We highly recommend this couple! Jim & Wanda

We have been using Peace of Mind Pals for I think over two years now! They are very reliable and dependable. It’s hard to find someone you trust with your fur babies and having them come to your home when you’re not there. Marie is always very responsive and helps us out when we are in a pinch! Very thankful!
We love using Peace of Mind for every vacation they have been awesome! They send email updates with photos and are so reliable and kind. You can tell they really love and care about the animals! She even reads books and listens to music with them. Highly recommend!!
We have been using Peace of Mind Pals for years and love their service. We get photos of our two cats everyday that they take care of them. They are very reliable and take care of our cats with tender loving care!
The people at Peace of Mind Pals are wonderful. We had them take care of our very sassy cat for a week and they followed the instructions to a tee as well as provided daily updates. Their pricing was extremely reasonable and I would recommend them to anyone who needs a pet sitter
I love Peace of Mind Pals. They give me exactly that...peace of mind! Sadie always sends me lovely pictures and check in’s about my kitty so I can go away knowing she is well cared for.
I really enjoyed this walking service but unfortunately had a walker who mistreated my dogs to the point that they became skittish and timid. When contacting the owner of the service she was very unprofessional and stopped responding. It’s very unfortunate. My animals are extremely important to me. I am lucky a neighbor reached out who witnessed the incident. I had some great walkers and one terrible one. Please beware and cautious.
Great group of people. They sent pictures of our puppy to us and gave us an update. Will definitely use them again.
I filled out the online form and the only response I got was that they don't service Windham. We don't live in Windham, we live in Falmouth. They say they service Falmouth. No response when I replied that we live in Falmouth, not Windham.
Amy gives great care to our kitty Maxine. We know we can count on her.. thank you!
They are just lovely. Being away I truly had peace of mind for my little ones. Thanks!
Very impressed with the level of service and care. We have two reactive/fearful dogs. The owner and staff are incredibly patient and supportive. They put the safety and well-being of the dogs first. The staff are also always very positive. The owner, Britt, is very communicative and helpful with scheduling. Appreciate the report cards.
The Bark Yard has routinely impressed me during the year that my young dog has been attending. It is always clean and the people working there are very knowledgeable about dogs and keep them calm but entertained. Common-sense rules are always followed (one dog in the lobby at a time). What makes them really stand out is their excellent customer service. We had a dog visiting from New York that had to board for a day (it's hard to have a packed house for Thanksgiving and a Great Dane) and they worked with us to get her scheduled and comfortable and the dog was well taken care of, even though she wasn't a regular boarder. I can't recommend them enough!
Harley's been with TBY for about 7 months now and he absolutely loves it! His butt goes into overdrive when we arrive, he can hardly contain his joy!! Staff members are always helpful to pawrents and shower our pups with so much love & attention! Harley gets a variety of stimulation, not just hanging out with other dogs. From sniffaris to loose leash walks, bark boards to pupcicles, and ball pits to agility training Harley gets to try everything!!
We are so grateful for the fantastic care and attention to detail that The Bark Yard has given all of our three huge pups! We receive detailed daily summaries of each experience and feel very comfortable with the quality and thoughtful care provided. Highly recommend!
We have been taking our 6 year old GSD, Mila, to The Bark Yard since the beginning of this year and are so beyond happy with our experience! Since Mila had never been to daycare before and typically prefers to be pretty lazy, TBY was more than accommodating. Mila started out in TBY’s Hybrid Daycare Program where Britt and her amazing staff allowed Mila the ability to ease into the environment, larger play groups, and the overall daycare experience. TBY plays close attention to how Mila plays and transitioned her into Full Daycare when she was ready. There was one day where there was a small incident in play group and Quinn, one of Mila’s favorite counselors, made sure to send the kindest and most informative email just to let us know about the minor incident, ensure us all was okay, and to just give us a peace of mind. Recently, we needed help with Mila since we were traveling and Britt was beyond helpful in the planning of our departure. Also, Britt was so willing to assist with the scheduling of upcoming boarding for Mila. Mila gets is so happy when we ask her “do you want to go to daycare??” and starts getting so excited in the car when she realizes that she is almost there. A 5 star review will never be enough credit for TBY! We are so lucky to have TBY and their amazing workers in our pup’s lives!
I’m so impressed with the progress Hercules has seen since we started working with Mike in February. Mike has been extremely patient with Herc’s dog reactivity— before training Herc would attack dogs and we couldn’t take him on walks. Now, Herc can greet dogs nicely and walks away from dogs who bark or lunge at him. He no longer pulls on walks, his anxiety has decreased so much that we can now leave him home alone, and he’s no longer having accidents in the house!! We have worked with other dog trainers for his issues in the past but Mike’s positive reinforcement training methods have worked so well, we see more and more progress after EVERY session and we are SO grateful!!!
Willard has been going to daycare/ ‘rec camp’ for about a year now and he LOVES it! I feel confident that he is well cared for with the right amount of physical and mental stimulation at the Barkyard. Willard also attends the Manners class through the Barkyard and we couldn’t be happier.
I've been bringing my Pup lanie here for almost a year now. She's boarded a few times and is in solo dog daycare a few times a month. I've had my Lanie for 10.5 years and have tried 4 other daycares over the years and Bark Yard is HANDS DOWN the best one I know of. I've never trusted another place as much as I trust this place. The level of care and attention is very high. There are tons of different options for activities, treats, and training. I really appreciate the report cards... especially during boarding it's so nice to get regular updates! The last daycare/boarding place Lanie was going downhill fast and I'm so glad I was able to find the Bark Yard. One thing I noticed when I switched is Lanie no longer gets friction burn on her paws. I think it was the rubber matting at the old place she went to, but whatever type of flooring at the Bark Yard doesn't give her these burns!
Our Edie has been to the Bark Yard for daycare and boarding. They are amazing! Everyone there is so friendly and takes such great care of our pup. They take the time to get to know your dog and provide them with the care and love they need. They go above and beyond to offer things that set them apart from all others. When I asked Britt how she remembered the names of all of the dogs her reply was, “They’re my friends!” Highly recommend them!
I adore this place and all the lovely humans within! My boy Indy has gone to many daycares the past 5yrs due to traveling. He has also been rejected from some daycares due to him not fitting in the “happy-go-lucky loves everything and everyone” standard. A lot of places we have checked out have groups of 20-30+ dogs with limited counselors. We cannot expect all different dogs to be able to coexist the same way in an overstimulating group of that size. The Bark Yard works harder and smarter! They have smaller groups where Britt and her team are able to cater to each individual dogs needs/personalities. They are very inviting, communicative and adaptable to both clients and their pets. They make me and Indy feel safe! It’s important to trust in those you are leaving your furbabies with. Highly recommend!!
They offer a nail trim clinic at our local pet store which is wonderful!! That is so incredibly convenient for pet owners! Amazing, caring people that care about all animals and the community!
We are new here and are so happy with the way our 3 dogs looked after grooming. They were all perfect. I was worried about our smallest dog because the last groomer I tried said he was too anxious and couldn’t be clipped. Oliver looked beautiful and wasn’t a problem I am so happy. Everyone was very friendly and professional. HIGHLY recommended!
We love this place! The staff is always totally friendly, and the dogs clearly love being there. Mine is normally trembling with excitement waiting at the door to get in. If that’s not the best sign of a dog being comfortable somewhere, I don’t know what is. You won’t find a better dog bath anywhere either. Depending on your breed, it’s possible whoever has washed your dog in the past hasn’t made it all the way down to the skin with a good scrubbing… I have a Labrador retriever with somewhere between three and four layers of fur (it’s best suited for swimming in cold water/oceans, sea fairing dogs back in the day), and he looks and smells amazing long after his bath from another dog day. I can tell the oils and odor have been removed from his skin. Give them a chance, if you have a friendly, outgoing dog, it’ll thank you.
Our dog Barkley loves this place so much He is so happy that he is spending the night. The staff is very friendly and you can tell they really love dogs. There is a big backyard for the dogs to Play in. When they get a bath they smell so good. -Mia
My dog loves it here. The people and their patrons (dogs) are all nice. Lisa, the owner, knows my breed and how to handle her grooming to perfection. And, most importantly, on a stay-over, she comes back to me as happy as I left her. Cuddoes to Lisa and her staff, and facilities.
Hank is very happy whether doing daycare or boarding. Everyone working here obviously loves what they do and it shows in their conscientious care. This guy goes happily wagging to Another Dog Day any chance he gets.
Brought my standard poodle here for a grooming appointment. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They made sure to ask if any adjustments needed to be made when I came to pick him up. Will be bringing him back for future grooming appointments.
Another Dog Day has been a saving grace. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. I like how they only allow a limited amount of pups. And most importantly, Blue approves 😂 …
My Izzy loves it here and they treat her like the Queen she is. !!!
Thank you for being available when we needed a safe and trusting environment for our dog, probably the best Dog daycare in the Greater Portland Maine. Super friendly staff, very committed to excellent service and care deeply for our furry friends and family.
I'd like to share the most heartfelt review I can give to The Maine Pack, particularly Abby and Michelle. From the moment I reached out to Abby for advice on our little French Bulldog, Noel, I knew we were in good hands. Noel's first few months with us were incredibly challenging, and I felt overwhelmed. I arranged a private session with Abby, which turned out to be an incredibly positive experience. This led us to enroll Noel in a one-week puppy board and train program. When we picked up Noel after her 1 week puppy board & train, she was like a completely different dog. She had already learned commands like "place," "sit," and "stay," and was just beginning to grasp the "heel" command. As Noel grew older, we enrolled her in a three-week board and train program at around 11 months old. This experience was nothing short of amazing. We received frequent updates from The Maine Pack, which reassured us that Noel was in the best possible care. I can honestly say that I would never trust anyone else with Noel's care but The Maine Pack. In addition to the board and train programs, we also had the pleasure of participating in multiple private training sessions with Abby. Noel boarded with The Maine Pack on several occasions, and I can confidently say that the home, structured environment was the best thing for Noel. Not only did she get to have many fantastic outings but she continued to progress with her training in every stay. Unfortunately, 2024 brought a diagnosis of IVDD, and Noel will no longer be able to return to The Maine Pack due to her medical condition. Before getting Noel, I spent nearly two years researching and following The Maine Pack, knowing that this was the team I wanted to help raise my baby girl. It brings me great sadness that Noel will no longer be able to attend, as I had always envisioned her growing up, and old, with their guidance. To anyone considering The Maine Pack, please know that your dog will be in the most amazing hands. They treat each dog with respect while providing exceptional training, owner guidance and giving moms/dads and dogs with tools and education to succeed.
We just love The Maine Pack! We just brought our 2 year old rescue pup to them for help with nervousness around other dogs and leash training. We entered her into their 3 week train/board course and got her back two weeks ago and are so happy with the results! Abigail and her crew were able to give our dog a wonderful base of training that we can build on at home. Before we brought our dog to them we didn’t have a good language to use with her, now we can actually communicate what we want to her and she understands! We love that they train all the dogs in a home environment (instead of a kennel) and they get so much real world experience and socialization there! We will definitely keep bringing our dog there for additional socialization and boarding whenever we can. And if you don’t follow them on instagram you are missing out! It was so fun to see all of the dogs progress through the weeks on their instagram stories and you get some tips and behind the scenes of what their training is like. We are so proud to be a part of The Maine Pack!
I can't thank Abigail enough, she helped transform my pitbull with such a good foundation going forward. I wish I would have signed up earlier!! She took so much time to answer my questions and train me so I could train my dog with terms and actions he understands. I'm so hopeful for my dogs future now which is a complete 180 from the pure panic that my dog was going to eat someone or another dog before her training. I wish I could send him to summer camp with her every summer! Thank you so much!! ❤️
We enrolled our pit/boxer rescue into the 18 day board and train program to address his lease reactivity to other dogs/men/runners, general obedience, and focus in public places. And, boy oh boy, was it worth it. We went from being extremely anxious walking him in secluded places to being able to walk him in public places with complete confidence. Abigail does an extremely good job creating a solid base for obedience and addressing the issues brought to her. Most importantly, she is extremely thorough on teaching you how to employ these practices during the ‘go home’ session. We continue to bring him to The Maine Pack for weekly training days to solidify his socialization with other dogs. He’s continues to become more confident on how to play appropriately, calmer in groups settings, and, impressively, can create space on his own when he’s had enough or becomes overwhelmed in a situation. I would highly recommend her to anyone for training but I would especially recommend her to folks who have dogs with unknown pre-rescue trauma, like ours.
Abby & The Maine Pack absolutely changed our dog’s life! We sent our pup for a two week board and train to work on some reactivity & guarding behaviors. Abby was kind, understanding and gave us confidence that we could change our relationship with our dog. Since sending Rosie to TMP she has been worlds happier— able to be off leash, remain calm is busy settings, and meet new dogs & people. Abby also does a wonderful job of staying in touch with resources and training for the owner so you can keep up the work at home and sends lots of videos so you can peak in on how everyone is progressing. I can’t say enough about The Maine Pack (and do to anyone who will listen)
It’s been a few years since my pups went to The Maine Pack and I’ve been hesitant to write a review. Although our pups did learn a few good skills, like not bolting out the front door, I think the emotional trauma of the program on our dogs was not worth the experience. Our dogs are not food motivated, and never have been, which the trainer did not like and tried to change because that’s a core training technique for her. Ever since our dogs went to the program, one will sometimes attack the other when food is around and has hurt the other before. I can confidently say this behavior is due to the board and train program. Additionally, one came home with an awful burn mark on their neck from the E Collar. I was hopeful that the mark would go away but it hasn’t after 3 years. We were young and naive at the time but I have since learned there are methods and trainers out there that can train without using shock collars or prong collars and only use positive reinforcement which is the route we will go in the future with other pups.
We met with Abby for a couple of private training sessions shortly after bringing our puppy home and found them to be immensely helpful in establishing a foundation for training and socialization, even in the midst of a pandemic. She truly seems to understand what a dog is feeling and how that dog will respond to leadership. We couldn't be happier with the way she communicates with both us and our dog. Given that he's still a puppy, new issues continue to crop up and she always has the perfect response for how to handle them. We can easily see ourselves working with Abby and The Maine Pack for years - we couldn't imagine a better dog trainer!
We have been using The Maine Pack for just under a year now for our puppy who is 18 months. First we started with private lessons at home which went great - and now we bring him weekly for a training day. Not only does he LOVE going, he is learning (and reinforcing) so many things, including e-collar. We owe so much of our puppy’s great demeanor (which we hear often as a compliment!) to Abby and her team at Maine Pack. If you are close by (or even if you aren’t!) I would highly recommend The Maine Pack for any dog training needs!!
The Maine Pack works wonders! They work hard to create a clear way to communicate what is needed and expected from your dog in a manner that the dog can understand. This, in turn, allows your dog to live his/her best life! My rescue dog, Emma, was a very fearful dog (and a handful) who did not how to handle new situations. Nowadays, We take several walks a week through the woods and she gets to be off leash. She responds when given a command and if there is anything new or scary, she looks to me as her leader instead of trying to handle it herself (by barking or running). She is living her best life now and it is because the Maine Pack taught us the skills and tools we needed! Thank you!!!!
Abby helped our pup with walking, placing and temperament. She was so great with our pup that we are waiting patiently for our board in train with her in a few months. She not only worked with our pup, but also with the whole family on training. Our Pup enjoyed her company just as much.
Loves your pet! And, treats it as one of her own!
My dog loves salty dog! The photos they send in the yard are evidence enough! The staff is polite and knowledgeable, and I enjoy having the peace of mind that my dog is enjoying her day. 10/10, highly recommend!
"Salty Dog" has been a blessing for us. Our 2 year old Boston Terrier has been going regularly for over a year. She loves it. We can't even say the word "salty" without her thinking she's going to play at Salty Dog. We've boarded Pixie there overnight for a weekend as well, and she was well taken care of. They sent us pictures at the end of the day, and we knew she was safe. I am confident that our experience is not unusual, and I would highly recommend Salty Dog Adventures for your pup.
Abey baby loves Salty Dog! I feel comfortable and confident leaving him overnight and for daytime play. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. We are so lucky to have the Salty Dog available for our pup!
We have used Salty Dog since the week my puppy was old enough to go (and he turns one this week)! It is super easy to book online and their staff is always very friendly and welcoming. We are currently waiting for him to get neutered, however, he usually goes once a week and totally loves it. I love that the dogs have “naked play” (without collars) to prevent any injuries. He comes home so tired (at least for a few hours while he recharges his GSP batteries). Thanks for taking such good care of Zeus!
We love Salty Dog Adventures! We started bringing our almost 2 year old Lab after a bad experience at a different daycare. Salty Dog has always been amazing! Our dog is so excited to be there and all the staff always recognize him. We love getting the report cards to see what he was up too during the day and have even left him overnight a few times. When we get there, he immediately runs to the door and cant get in soon enough! We feel so lucky to have Salty Dog and know our boy is always safe and enjoying his time there.
We are such huge fans of Salty Dog, so is our 2.5 year old 75lb English Silver Lab (Bauer). We consistently bring Bauer to Salty Dog for daily play and supervision but also for extended stay boarding. When ever we actually tell him he’s going to Salty Dog he literally perks up and get so excited. The staff is so responsive by email and super attentive/caring of Bauer when he’s there. Every time I bring him or drop him off, he’s beyond excited. We can’t imagine taking him anywhere else.
Our pup absolutely loves visiting his friends at Salty Dog! Based on his smile in the picture they shared with us (attached), it’s safe to say he has a pretty great time! Their staff is always friendly and helpful and it’s so clear they love all the dogs they care for. Thanks Salty Dog!
It was my first visit and they kept my dog, my 10 pound terrier mix, for 3 1/2 hours and decided she didn’t play well with others. Apparently they put her in room with other dogs and they were harassing her so she snapped at Some of them. It was definitely not a good fit and she came home extremely thirsty. . And no, you did not offer any alternative or referrals!
We love Salty Dog! My puppy comes home totally exhausted and happy after playing here - their indoor space allows for great playtime on cold/rainy/too hot days - which is amazing. I love the hourly drop-off and my dog has a great time with a two hour stay while I run errands or work out. Staff is great and so friendly and welcoming to owners and dogs. Highly recommend!
I needed to write and let everyone know how after nine months of my taking my pet Jeffrey to Salty Dog that I am very pleased. I find them to be so friendly and accommodating. Of course the best judge of how great they are is to ask Jeffrey. Unfortunately he’s not able to add much to the conversation, so I’ve attached a picture taken his first day at Salty Dog. You can tell from his smile how much fun he’s having and since a picture is worth a thousand words, I will continue to entrust him in the hands of the great friendly staff!
