Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

We feel like we’ve won the pet and house sitter lotto with Scott. Most importantly, he’s taken great care of our much loved little dog, giving him a lot of care, affection and attention. He paid close attention when Tingsha began scratching (allergy to an insect bite) which needed vet care, with great communication with us. He even took Tingsha to his agility school class each week (great fun had by all) and to get a groom. We’ve come home to a contented and very happy dog. The house is spotless, cleaner than we left it, with fresh flowers and the bed all made up. Perfect! We had regular contact with Scott all through our five week trip and being “fellow travellers” (in all senses) enjoyed sharing lots of local travel tips and experiences as we each visited new parts of the world. We were happy to lend Scott our car and he’s been great with it, super responsible. Scott is a really terrific guy and a fabulous journalist and story teller (you must listen to his podcast about his travels, it’s a cracker). In sharing our home and trusting our beloved dog with him, we feel like we’ve made a new friend along the way. We recommend Scott without any hesitation and thank him for a wonderful experience, we’d love him to come back and see us, anytime. Thanks a bunch!
Natalie and Christian were dream pet sitters while we were out of the country for 2.5 weeks. From start to finish, they were reliable and professional, with excellent communication. They had took great care of our dog and chickens and left the house and car in great shape. Plus, they’re just a really sweet young couple. We’d highly recommend them as house sitters.
What a lovely couple Tara and Tyler are. They had been in Scottsdale about six weeks before the house sit. and can to meet us. Rusé, our Toy Fox Terrier, fell in love with them immediately, and was in Tara’s arms within two minutes. We always like our sitters to arrive the day before we leave, take them out to dinner and get to know them. It was quite apparent from the videos and photos we received, that Rusé did not miss us. Tara and Tyler’s three grown up children joined them before Xmas-to Rusé’s delight as these were additional hands to throw his rubber bones and balls. The house was all clean and tidy, when we returned.. There is a strong possibility that Tara and Tyler will move to Arizona from Montana, with two of their children, recently moved to the area. They have already offered to look after Rusé in the future. We know he would love it. We cannot recommend Tyler and Tara higher enough, they were perfect House and Pet sitters
Initially, I was very nervous about finding my very first in-home pet sitter who could provide the level of care and attention our 3 beloved fur-kids required. From the moment Emily and Johnny stepped into our home, I knew they were going to be in good hands. Their gentle demeanor and genuine love for animals instantly put our dogs Gypsy & Johnny at ease. Emily and Johnny took the time to understand our pets’ unique personalities and preferences, ensuring that their every need would be met. During our absence, Emily provided us with regular updates and adorable photos. Their detailed communication gave me peace of mind, knowing that my fur babies were in the best possible hands. Upon our return, we were greeted by a happy and contented gang, who clearly had enjoyed their time with Emily and Johnny. Emily and Johnny are more than just pet sitters; they are true companions to our furry family. Their exceptional care, genuine love for animals, and unwavering dedication have earned them a permanent spot in our hearts. Without hesitation, we give Emily and Johnny a 5-star rating and highly recommend their services to anyone seeking trustworthy and loving caregivers for their beloved pets. THANK YOU Emily and Johnny!!! <3
I felt totally confident in leaving Darcy and my house in Elaine’s care and I returned to a very contended dog and a perfectly clean and tidy house. Elaine arrived the day before I left so I was able to get to know her and enjoy an evening meal with her before my very early flight. We kept in contact while I was away via WhatsApp and I was happy to see photos of Darcy relaxing in her usual favourite places. It was lovely to be welcomed back home after my holiday by a very well looked after dog and it was so nice that Elaine was here to welcome me and had the lamps on, flowers in vases and a meal in the oven. My house was clean and tidy and Darcy has enjoyed a week of lovely walks and neck scratches. I highly recommend Elaine as a completely reliable pet and house sitter and she is a lovely lady to chat to. I was so pleased that I got to know her.
Debra was a Great pet and house sitter !! She communicated well throughout our long trip and sent us frequent pictures of all of our pets. She watered our plants and brought in all the mail. Our home was immaculate when we arrived home and the dogs and cat were super happy !! I would recommend Debra as a wonderful, responsible and reliable pet and house sitter !
Laura was amazing with communication from the very beginning. She sent updates of photos and videos without even being told or asked to do so. She was watching our cat and treated her like her own. Laura was also very responsive when we were trying to find a sitter for our dates and answered any and all questions we had about her experience with pets and house sitting. I would recommend her to anyone! :) and hope we can have her house sit again for us.
Janis is absolutely the best pet sitter and home care we have had. She is a regular for us during our Christmas vacation because we totally trust her with the care of our three dogs and the management of our home. She is so good and efficient that I have already requested that she sits for us again next Christmas. Our three dogs absolutely adored her as she played fetch, took them on walks, loved and spoiled them. Management of our home was excellent. I had no concerns whatsoever as we had packages delivered and Mail that needed to be picked up. The house was in much better condition than what we left it. I highly recommend Janis and you will be fortunate to have her as your sitter.
Jessica was an awesome pet sitter for my cat Fifi. She texted photos and updates everyday so I knew that Fifi was being well cared for. She was communicative and asked a lot of good questions to make sure she understood Fifi's needs. My home was equally as clean (if not more so) upon my return. I would highly recommend Jessica!
Jerry and Suzanne were absolutely ideal sitters for our home and pets. We spoke with them ahead of their visit and could tell that they are genuine pet and travel lovers. Over their stay we got to see even more that they are wonderfully friendly, kind, and responsible - plus they kept us laughing with their updates and descriptions of our pets' antics while we were away. Our pets and plants were well loved and our house was spotless upon our return home, and they were even kind enough to leave a few goodies in the fridge. Our dog in particular seemed to miss them and their long walks around the neighborhood. Thank you Jerry and Suzanne! We wish you well in your travels!

Our dogs LOVE their Wagging Tails walks! They can’t wait for Catherine or Michelle to take them out and about in our neighborhood. We’ve been using Wagging Tails for nearly two years and can’t sing their praises loudly enough. Always on time and considerate, they consistently rise to the challenges of our schedule changes and ensure our dogs thoroughly enjoy every encounter. Also, they are so considerate in bringing in packages left on our doorstep. More than just a dog walking service, Catherine and Michelle are like family!
We love Michelle and her team. They are professional, trustworthy and most of all they care about our fur babies as much as we do. I have used them for overnight sitting, grooming, dog walking and cat sitting. Highly recommend Wagging Tails.
Wagging Tails is the BEST place to get your dog groomed if they are anxious about the groomer. One of our dogs is highly anxious and wouldn't let typical groomers touch him any time we took him to a brick and mortar grooming facility. Michelle was so patient and loving with both of our dogs, especially our anxious one. The mobile grooming service is so personal and they take such great care of your pets. I highly recommend them!
My experience with Wagging tails has been nothing but fantastic! My dog looks so cute after his cut, and I didn’t even have to leave the house. Very courteous and professional, we will be back with our other doodle.
LOVE LOVE LOVE wagging tails pet grooming. She came to our home, washed and groomed our dogs IN HER VAN! They look great and it was so convenient. Will definitely be using her again.
We just had our 5 month goldendoodle groomed for the first time. Michelle did an awesome job and was very patient with him. He is like a shark when you try to brush him and we can’t get scissors near him. Michelle was really good talking us through the steps and let us help to make our baby feel comfortable. It was a great experience all around and he turned out really good for as bad as he was! lol I would highly recommend her services for your pup, we were very pleased!!
Great product for my paralyzed dog. The only change I would suggest is making it a snap button because the velcro does wear out quite fast. I went to home depot and bought the snap button kit.
I don’t even know where to start, Wagging Tails is absolutely amazing!! Michelle is by far the best groomer EVER!! My daughter even loved her and she’s not a people person 😂 Michelle was so good with Oliver (our 1 year old Bichon) and he looks perfect!! I knew that after reading the previous reviews that I wouldn’t be disappointed and we definitely weren’t! Thank you so much for what you did for our fur baby!! We had to wait a bit for an appointment because they are in high demand and FOR GOOD REASON!! Well worth the wait even though he was literally a ball of tangled fur when Michelle got there. Michelle, YOU ARE TOP NOTCH!!!!!! Thank you!!!
I’ve used Wagging Tails pet sitting several times now for my 2 cats and they’ve always been wonderful. This last time the team watched my kitties while I was on vacation for 10 days and Emily, Emma, and Sharyn truly went above and beyond - cleaning out the automatic dispensers daily and setting a vinegar trap when they noticed gnats in the wet food. I cannot recommend Wagging Tails enough!! They have taken such amazing care of my babies!
Michelle was great to work with and gave us peace of mind knowing she was taking wonderful care of our sweet boy! Always did a nice job communicating with us. Would highly recommend!
Critter Sitters is no longer in business.
Workers are always pleasant, informative, and helpful.
Amazing doggy day care! Our dogs Buster & Smokey loved the 2 days they spent in your facility! Friendly, pleasant, caring people. Clean facilities! Thank you again for accommodating us on such short notice! You saved our Williamsburg vacation! Michelle & Tom
I recently had a quality of life visit for my sweet Booboo she is a chihuahua. I decided to euthanize her due to her deteriorating health. Dr. Fiddler, the assistant and Mrs. Terry were so accommodating, friendly, kind and understanding. They professionally took care of us and my sweet girl. Here's to 17years Booboo, Thank you all for your continued support and professionalism. 💝
Thank you Paws! Best doggie daycare I have ever been to! Not over crowded and each dog has their own suite to rest in. My puppy Lola is shy and had a bad experience at another daycare previous to Paws. They worked hard building her confidence. Karen is a master at picking the right dogs to play with each other. I would recommend Paws Pet Resort to all!! Cannot say enough about how good they are.❤👍👍
Our dog enjoys going to Paws Pet Resort to day care or to board. They play with all the animals inside and outside. The staff is very friendly and cater to any special needs. It is a very clean and well run place. I highly recommend!
We had a family emergency and had to leave out of town in two hours. Paws Pet Resort stepped up and took cared of our little Molly so we could be with a family and know that she was in good hands. Thank you for being so flexible and taking care of our little Molly, we missed her so much.
My Jubilee came home a happy camper after her stay at Paws Pet Resort. The camping was more like ‘glam-ping’ as overnight guest accommodations replicate a cozy home environment with cushy slipcovered sofa and/or club chair and flat screens! Staff members are professional, nice people who shared lots of love with Jubilee. Felt good leaving Jubie here after scouring reviews, meeting members of the team, and touring the facility; and, Paws Resort proved me right.
Bag of mixed feelings here. Yes, it seems like my dog did well here. I am also glad they were able to fit me in on memorial weekend just a few days prior. However, the human to human service was awful. I came in to this business with my dog and there is this lady, one of the older ladies with white hair, who appears to be the owner or manager, who at first sight just oozes passive aggressiveness. Now all people make mistakes and I did not read the part where I had to have a collar on my dog, this lady starts harping over “it’s in the contract” and in a span of 1 minute reminding me about 4 times that my dog needs a collar. If you give me a chance I’ll go back and get one, I had barely just said hello. The rest of the checkin in process was exactly the same. It seems like she treats everyone the same because even her employees stayed quiet and somewhat submissive for example when she spoke to the younger lady at the front desk.Perhaps this line of work has her thinking everyone are dogs and they must be submissive? Maybe a hammer thinks everything is a nail situation? When I came to pick up my dog, which went much better, it was only slightly dampened when I saw the [owner/manager?] I respectfully said hello, and ignored me like I wasn’t there. Someone, if you’re reading this, give this lady back her cats. I won’t be coming back until you do
I live in the suburbs of D.C, but am from the 757, so I board my "yorkie daughter" with Paws at least 3 times a year. I'm very picky about who she stays with and though the drive can be up to 3-3.5 hours each way, it is well worth it. I don't have to worry about my baby girl and can vacation in peace either internationally or domestically because I know my sweet and sometimes timid or loud Valentine is in great hands, along with my "nephew Yorkie!" I love the owner so much and the desk assistant. They are very nice people! I also love getting birthday emails for my Valentine every February 15. Paws is really great!
I cannot say enough good things about Paws Pet Resort! Karen and her staff are amazing in every way! The attention and love they give to the animals is beyond compare in my opinion! The facility is extremely clean! My dog boards there as well as goes to Doggie Daycare and she loves it there and always is so happy to see the ladies and her doggie friends :-) I would highly recommend them and I'm so grateful for all they do :-)
It is too bad that we can only give a five star rating to the Paws Pet Resort ,as opposed to ten stars !!! Not only was the resort a "Resort" for my pet but I felt reassured and relaxed about her stay away from home. The staff was kind, courteous and concerned about her welfare. We were both treated like welcomed guests. SO, FOUR PAWS UP ! Thank you from us both.
We went away for a week and asked Paws and Claws to take care of our cats. As part of it, we asked them to text pictures of the cats because we worry about them when we are away. They didn't text us any pictures or any confirmation that they came during the first half of the week. We followed up with the owner to make sure they were visiting. On the last day we were away, they sent pictures. When we got back, there were a number of "signs" that the cats may have gone without litter box cleanings early in the week. All we know for sure is that the pet sitter didn't send us the requested pictures, but signs suggest the pet sitter forgot to come for the visits earlier in the week. Earlier in the month, we had a similar situation where we didn't receive the requested texts after visits. We were also surprised to learn the visits happened at 10pm. We shared our concerns with Josh, the owner. He was reasonable, understood our concerns, and gave us a discounted rate. He gets 5 stars for customer service. He also said he would personally be the caretaker of our pets if we choose to use them in the future. We may take him up on that. Based on our conversations, we trust Josh: our concerns were with the petsitters communication. If we decide to go with Josh in the future and things go well, I'll update this rating.
Five stars for Paws and Claws..my precious babies are cared for lovingly and conscientiously. I depend on Paws and Claws for a great experience every time.
All of Paws and Claws sitters are attentive and caring with my pets. They are definitely my go to when I head out of town.
We've been using Paws & Claws for years and couldn't be happier with their kind, caring and efficient service!
Fabulous service from such a friendly and caring sitter for my dog!! Highly recommend Paws & Claws 🐾 🐾 …
Nice local people come to my house to care for my cats when I'm away. So convenient
Great service the only one I will use.
Excellent!!
Lynn took great care of our two cats while we were on vacation. She stopped twice a day and made sure everything was ok with the cats and our home ! Lynn's great and I highly recommend calling her if you need help with your pets. She truly loves animals and we'll be booking her every time we're away.
LYNN is amazing!! We got multiple pictures throughout the day showing our pets doing activities or just hanging out. When we got home our pets were happy and not stressed at all!! Would definitely recommend Lynn!
Lynn & my walker Amy were FANTASTIC thru this entire process. It was nerve wracking to leave our pets for the FIRST time. But Amy sent daily progress pics and really went above and beyond to make sure our 2 dogs were loving AND living their best life in our absence! We will NEVER go with anyone else!!! See y'all in the Fall!!!🤣😍😘 …
Lynn has taken care of my two cats several times over the last year. I have found her to be very caring towards our pets. She is always professional but her love for animals always shows through. She always asks questions regarding their care. She is reliable and trustworthy. I feel 100% comfortable having Lynn in our home. I would highly recommend her services. She will love and care for your pets!!
We had to leave our two cats for 4 days shortly after moving to the area. Both cats need medication twice a day so we were worried about finding the right person to care for them. Lynn was recommended to us by the manager of our apartment complex. She met with us beforehand and put us completely at ease with leaving them in her care. Not only did she take care of all their needs, but she spent time with them and made sure they were happy. She also sent us pictures at every visit so we knew they were well and could enjoy our trip. I highly recommend Lynn and will definitely ask her to care for our cats again!
Lynn is absolutely wonderful! She took great care of our dog while we were away during the holidays. I felt great knowing our dog was in good care. She sent updates and we had great communication!
I often traveled for work and had a lot of anxiety leaving Bree for extended periods; however, Lynn has alleviated my concerns. I appreciate Lynn's' services; besides seeing to her basic needs (food/litter box), she also takes the time to play, groom, and sit with Bree in my absence. Lynn's gentle and calm demeanor won Bree over quickly. Typically, Bree is anxious and hides around new people/circumstances. However, that is not the case with Lynn; Bree quickly greets Lynn and gratefully accepts the attention.
I cannot speak of Lynn more highly. We have used Lynn several times now for house sitting and multiple drop ins for our two dogs. Each visit is dealt with great professionalism by Lynn as she treats our home with respect and treats our pups as her own. Both dogs adore her! She sends plenty of photos in which we can clearly see how truly happy the dogs are in her care. I am thankful to have found such a wonderful sitter for our dogs who we can trust while we are away. 10/10 would highly recommend!
We love One Love Pet Care! Lynn has been caring for our cats for three years and we couldn’t dream of a better cat sitter! She takes the time to play with the cats and is above and beyond professional, friendly, and caring.
Lynn is amazing! She takes such great care of our cats. She sends so many pictures and is extremely attentive and communicative. I highly recommend One Love Pet Care!
Best, safe, loving, respectable place for your pet...hands down. (Rough phone communication holds them back from 5 stars.) They all go the extra mile for their guests!
Highly recommend, worth every penny. Fantastic choice for your pet if you work or they need to get out extra energy. The staff is professional and caring, they know us and our dog by name. They keep detailed records and alert us if something comes up. Their facility is clean. They have a vet on site (which we also use and is great), so if something happens to your pet they can handle any emergency on-sight. There is also an inside warehouse portion which they rotate the dogs through during hot/cold days to ensure they stay safe. Have never used their boarding, but wouldn’t hesitate. A good dog is a tired dog, and they get very tired playing all day at St. Francis.
They always take great care of our fur babies.
I was very pleased with our experience boarding our 11 month old Lab puppy this past weekend. The staff was very professional and caring. The facility is clean and even had a small TV in Bens "condo". I would not hesitate to bring Ben back to St. Frances.
Excellent - by far the best in the area. The staff is very professional and caring. The facilities are clean and top-notch. We have been very pleased with their boarding of our dog and would recommend them strongly.
Wonderful place to board your pets. We have been using them for 3 years and are very pleased with the care and attention given to our dogs. The staff is professional and friendly.
I love this place !!They are so understanding of our Annie and how much we love her and are so helpful in every way I wish I had found them sooner and to have the vet next door I have never felt more at ease .Thank you
Have been boarding Lola there for ten+ yrs. The only place I would leave her and have confidence that she was being taken care of.
They are great . The staff is very nice and caring and easy to work with . Much better than the other place in town I toured.
Took our dog to A Happy Place for doggy daycare while on vacation. Had a great experience. It was nice to know that our dog was being taken care of while we were out during the day. Would definitely bring him back if we are in the area again.
We used A Happy Place while we were in town for a family event. I called a day or two ahead of time and they were awesome about getting us in for the weekend. Our dog was a pandemic adoption and still gets nervous in new places. The owner was obviously knowledgeable with dogs and was a pleasure to talk to. Our dog was unsure at drop off but he went right into the play yard and started looking around. We picked him up a couple days later and he seemed to have enjoyed his time. He usually gets very stressed out in the car, to the point of shaking and stress panting, but fell asleep within 10 minutes of pulling away from A Happy Place. I think that’s the best sign of a weekend spent well at doggy day care!
Just deal with it right now. Your dog(s) are going to like Greg more than they like you. As long as you're secure enough in your own skin to handle being your puppy's backup plan, you'll love this place. Your dog(s) will love this place. Greg is a retired vet who doesn't need your money (but you still need to pay it :). He just wants to hang with cool dogs. The dogs get it. He's chill, they're chill, everybody's happy. This is as good as it gets. Stop looking. You found it.
Seems very difficult to contact. Why a phone to a business is a cell phone with no way to leave a voicemail and only goes to the owner. Can't ever reach and never call back after saying he would. I don't understand that. Never responds to emails. How could you not have a phone at the actual boarding place so we can check on our pets throughout their stay. This whole thing seems sketchy
My full breed almost 2 year old lab loves this place. He always get excited when we pull up to the place. When he doesn't see the owner, he will bark and they just shake their head. He also had several boarding days here. When we have to take a long trip for several days I am comfortable leaving my son with the owners. I never have to worry about my dog safety at all
My dog came back not drinking water barely wanted to eat not being active so I would not recommend this kennel it was the worst experience in my whole entire experience putting him in kennels and he was shaking up when he came back from this kennel I would definitely not recommend at all he look like he was outside for a while and I guess he was fighting for food because he was eating really fast and he did not come back looking healthy we had to put on probiotics for him to poop right and it would not be a good kennel to keep your dog at I'm pretty sure that they're outside the whole time and he was fighting for food and not getting water so do not put your dog in this kennel my dog owner gave him to me because she can't take care of him by far the worst kennel in the city and I am not going to give you his name and like I said it was a friend dog and she could not take care of him so we took him
We left our pups with Greg two times in the last couple months. They were well cared for and we had no issues. We travel full time in our RV, so finding a reliable boarding spot when we stop places is a must. Highly recommend!
We have been taking our 9 mo old golden retriever puppy to daycare 3 days a week. I was a little nervous at first, it’s sorta like leaving a baby with a sitter. I was kinda thinking that it’s not like she could tell me if she didn’t like going. I definitely did not need to worry about that. She is so beyond excited to get in the car to go (before we started I had to pick her up & force her in the car to go anywhere. Now she’s scrambling to get in before the door is even open). She also can not wait to get in to play once we get there. This morning was a day that she stays home and she kept trying to get in my car to go play at daycare. She gets all of the exercise & time with other dogs that active dogs need. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for quality care for their dog. The owner is obviously very caring and loves the dogs!
Happy with the service. The Owner was pleasant. Very happy to hear he was a retired Vet! My baby came home happy! He went right to him as well when we left, so I know he was a good person.
The worst kennel I have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with,if I could give it zero stars, I would. The thing that should have tipped me off about the lackluster care is the fact that they don't allow you into the facility, but even still the stench of the place was obvious from outside. When I picked him up I noticed he was not himself, he did not want to be touched, he was very lethargic and other issues I will wait to comment on as I am also having to seek medical care for my fur baby because of the poor care and bad treatment he was given. I only wish he could tell me about the abuse he endured. I will keep you posted. The pricing is what they decide to make it and I have never had to deal with an attendant who was down right belligerent and rude. This place is a money grab, they obviously do not care about their facility, so I know the fur babies are not cared for properly. Whatever you do, please DO NOT, take your fur babies to this kennel. I owe my fur baby lots of apologies. I will keep you posted on what I am told by the vet. The negative reviews are not lies, Believe the negative reviews, so you won't make the same mistake I did.
We’ve had our two Labs (one a puppy and one 10 year old) there for daycare and boarding and the puppy for the 3 week training course. Every experience has been awesome! Matt, the owner is super helpful and kind. He’s always willing to answer questions, provide advice, and go the extra mile to make sure it’s a great experience for dogs and their owners. The trainer (Ricky) who worked with our 6 month old puppy did an amazing job with him. Toby’s door manners and behavior in public spaces improved greatly, along with his ability to follow other commands. The best part was that we could tell he loved training with Ricky. He also got a ton of exercise during training and came back to us in great shape. The trainer also spent time at the end of training to go over everything with us and offered to help with any future training questions we might have. Now Ricky also works with him on occasion when Toby is in dog daycare to keep his skills sharp. All in all a fantastic place that we would recommend in a heartbeat.
I must say the staff was so friendly and helpful. Nothing like last minute planning for a doggie day care day so I could not be completely anxious while I went to a baseball game. Upon drop off nobody is in the lobby and the facility is not one you can tour, honestly I love that also that means only the staff there is handling my dog! You shoot them a text because guess what they are spending time with the babies! They respond so quick and let you know they will be out! Upon check in, that might be the fastest that my pup was willing to leave with someone else. Off he went! Upon pickup later they got my pup rather quickly and boy he makes crazy husky noises when he sees me from excitement but he was so happy and tired, it took approximately 1 minute in the car before he was passed out from the hours of socialization and play. He was such a happy pup and they took great care of him. I would recommend them for Day care and will not hesitate to consider them for boarding when I come to town.
Matt and Morgan were phenomenal the whole time our pug was in training. We were up-to-date every day with photos of his progress. I have had my dog back for three weeks now and he is a changed pup. The first two days were pretty tough because he was so different, but on day three, he was back to his cheerful playful self. My goal with the training was to be able to take Pug into public places and him be able to sit still and behave, Without trying to rip my arm off and smell other dogs, food, or people. They crate trained him which, I know was difficult to do, but now I am able to sleep throughout the night. I am also able to drive my vehicle without him, causing me to wreck because he is in the kennel at all times in the car. I highly recommend Ridgeside K9, as well as Morgan and Matt explicitly to train your dog. The outcome was worth all of the money and the time spent away from him. I am very thankful to have him back and very, very happy with the results. Thank you both very much for all the time and effort you put into Pugston.
Very pleasant and professional staff! My puppy can't wait to get there! He runs out of the car directly into the office, giving the staff hugs and kisses!!! He doesn't even say goodbye! I've seen other dogs do the same thing! This tells me my puppy is in the right place! Veteran and family owned, which is always a plus! Please keep in mind they value the animals, so no one is at the front desk full time. It is advisable to schedule drop-off and pick-up times for smooth transitions.
My german shepherd has been going to daycare here since he was just a tiny puppy! He absolutely loves it. He’s excited to go every morning and I swear he never wants to leave when I pick him up. I know he’s well taken care of and every staff member has always been friendly and ready to help.
I HIGHLY recommend Ridgeside-K9. My dog, a 3 year-old boxer/shiba inu mix was trained by trainer Andrew and I have nothing but good things to say about our experience. Before training, she was very reactivity just with the sight of another dog or person, especially with children, would not let anyone come up to her and she would bark/growl/be very reactive, was scared of all sudden movements and very skiddish, and would even attack our older dog we have at home. She did the 3 week board and train with trainer Andrew and we saw her progress daily through the pictures and videos he would sent me during her training sessions whether it was out in public or interacting with the other dogs in the training room. It has been a complete 180 flip with her when we got her back from training. She is such a good, well behaved dog that I no longer have to worry about her being nasty toward other people or animals. Since training, she has gone on walks with other dogs we’re friends with and has done amazing. She has been out to run errands with me in different stores or to the beach and has not had any issues with other dogs or people. She also has gone out of town with me to friends or family that have dogs and she has been able to be introduced to their dogs and has been able to be comfortable with their dogs and has been interacting with them and off leash with them in the house and has had no issues. She even will give her new doggie friends kisses after being with them for a little bit and becoming comfortable with them. She now makes sure everybody knows she’s in the room as she will make sure to go up to everyone and give them lovings and also make sure they all give her love as well. She really has become our loving, social butterfly that is a pleasure to take anywhere I go. This has been not only a pleasure to see my dogs change in behavior but has also helped my family so much by now having a good, well behaved dog that we no longer have to worry on whether or not she will be okay to take somewhere or not. THANK YOU RIDGESIDE K9 AND TRAINER ANDREW.
Ridgeside K9 staff are wonderful, and our dog is excited to go and be with her canine buddies every time! They have gone above and beyond for us, and we can't imagine taking her anywhere else.
Matt and his team at RidgesideK9 Tidewater are fantastic and I would highly recommend them for your training, boarding or daycare needs. My mini-Australian Shepard did the 3week board and train with Chris Martinese and it’s made a significant difference. Chris is an excellent trainer and I know how to better communicate with him and can now ensure his safety in all scenarios. He’s still my wonderful pup but now I enjoy our walks even more and he can heel, recall and it’s made our bond even stronger. Scheduling and pickup/drop off for board and daycare is also very easy and I love getting the daily updates on how he’s doing. It’s a huge bonus they continue to work on training at daycare too!!
My husband and I entrusted Michael and Sarah with our 8 month old labradoodle, Finn, to board and train over 4 weeks. What a great investment this training was! Michael and Sarah taught Finn discipline and, in turn, taught us how to enforce and expand on what Finn was taught. Even our neighbors remarked on what a positive difference they saw in Finn’s disposition upon his return to us. Finn had absolutely no recall and came back to us responding to his name! Additionally Finn stopped dragging me around and I was able to walk him with heel commands and a loose leash. Finn came back almost a new dog! Michael and Sarah worked a miracle! During the training period we got updates daily. While we missed Finn, the text and video updates helped and it was enjoyable to see how Finn was showing improvement. They also contacted us after returning Finn just to make sure every thing was still ok. My husband and I definitely recommend this program for your dog. The investment is well worth it! Michael and Sarah are AWESOME!!!
Ridgeside K9 Tidewater provides personalized, thorough and friendly dog training. My 3 year old male Irishdoodle recently finished the Ridgeside K9 Tidewater three week Board & Train program. Let me be clear, this was not your typical Board & Train as my dog had previously been a less reputable training organization in Hampton Roads, that charges several thousand dollars and ‘guaranteed’ results. For nearly two years after his first training, we still experienced MAJOR dog reactivity issues including pulling me to the ground on multiple occasions. After battling with our previous training organization and getting terrible customer service, I turned to Ridgeside K9 Tidewater. The owners, staff and trainers at Ridgeside K9 offer exemplary customer service. The MAJOR difference was that our previous training program was a one size fits all. Amanda, with Ridgeside K9, blew me away with her analysis and thorough understanding of my lovable, goofy and anxious pup. She described to me his behavior in behavioral terms which made so much more sense! Another important difference to note is that Amanda came to my house to pick up and deliver my pup. She understood his surroundings, and schedule and asked many questions to get to know us both. TO TOP IT OFF, less than a week after getting my pup back from Amanda and his Board & Train program, I broke my arm left arm in a bike accident. Yep, my heeling arm, so I could not keep my 70lb dog in a left side heel. Amanda stepped right in, came to my house with some additional training tools and spent the morning with my pup and me to make sure that we were comfortable with our morning and evening walks. It has been a month now since my Irishdoodle came home from his Board & Train with Amanda, and he is a perfect gentleman. He no longer gets on the furniture or bed (unless invited), he no longer drags me down the street during our walks and he rarely reacts to other dogs and only in a very minor way. When we walk, he goes into an automatic sit whenever we stop. Even with a broken arm, I feel completely confident and comfortable walking my big guy throughout town, taking him to kickball games, breweries and farmer’s markets. And more importantly, he is confident, chill and relaxed too! Without a doubt, Ridgeside K9 Tidewater Dog Training was well worth the money! I only wish I had found Ridgeside K9 Tidewater FIRST!
Please be careful if you plan to use Greensprings Pet Resort. We rate their pet sitting services as average (3 stars) because we have only used them once for a 1-week vacation. We were non-plussed but puppy came home clean, safe and sound. Interestingly, we were never allowed to see beyond the front lobby despite our request, and we were not provided any photos during his stay despite assurances that we would be. Again, non-plussed. Their grooming service is another matter (1 star). Three weeks ago our mini-doodle puppy was groomed there. By arrangement, it consisted of a bath and trim "after morning time at the kennel". Both we and our puppy were very pleased with the grooming (see photo taken on the lawn of the Pet Resort immediately after grooming). Three weeks later we took him in for repeat services. I received a phone call within an hour of drop-off directly from the groomer stating that the puppy would need "cutting" due to matting, which I knew he had on his belly. When I asked about morning time at the kennel, she said they were grooming him then or else he would not be ready by 1 pm. I agreed but, unfortunately, did not clarify the definition of cutting. When my husband and I picked him up at 1 pm we were told he was "still on the table". When he was brought out, he was shaved to the skin with "poodle" ears and tail (see photo taken upon arrival at home after second grooming). If our puppy hadn't been delighted to see us, we would have sworn they gave us the wrong dog. We were beyond disappointed. To make matters worse, we paid $20 more for the same "set of services" as the first time. Did we pay for shearing and crate time? I suspect there never was "morning time" and that grooming probably took several hours. Fair enough but we deserved a better explanation up front and charges should reflect only grooming services. I called the front desk staff several hours later to express our dismay with the radical grooming. I was told that "this is what she had to do" and that "it would have hurt him to brush him". In other words, the staff shifted responsibility to the pet-owner/pet. Not once did the staff validate our concern or offer any type of apology. Extensive matting was simply not the case (see third photo taken 1 week ago). These types of dogs are furry and require regular grooming which is why we scheduled grooming after only three weeks. Perhaps a pre-grooming photo from by the groomer to justify the radical cut would have been in order. Likewise, If she did not have time or want to take the time to do careful brushing and trimming, then we should have been informed. If the groomer was only experienced with poodle cuts, then we should have been given the option to reschedule. So many options.... and we were not offered any. Our puppy is fine and his hair will grow back. We love him all the same. Our issue is with the obvious miscommunications, not only between the groomer and us, but also between the front desk staff and us. No transparency whatsoever. We would not recommend these Pet Resort services under the current circumstances.
Have had a good experience with boarding services due to my work schedule. My dog was initially weary of going the first couple times, but is now always pulling the leash when walking towards the front door and wanting to go stay there as well which shows how much she enjoys being there.
I picked up someone else’s dog, and the resort had a very strong, unpleasant smell, making it difficult to wait there. Additionally, the road leading to the resort is unsafe and inconvenient for two cars to pass at the same time. The entrance to the road is also dangerous due to the lack of separated lanes and the risk of speeding cars behind you.
This Kennel had a Kennel Cough epidemic. I have given this place a 5 star in the past. However new staffing and bad employee attitude has taken over this kennel. I have an older dog. The one employee who walks him has pressured and hinted to me in the past that I should euthanize my beloved dog. The other employee with the short and purple hair wrote me an email stating that I should immediately pick up my dog because he had loss of Bladder control. The vet checked him out and cleared him of any issues. These worthless lazy employees develop lies and drama as an excuse to not take care of your animal. He is in good condition but his lack of care here by certain employees has given him diarrhea. Food comes back unfed at times and meds are not given. Any denials here won't work. I know who these worthless, Lazy employees are. I really liked this place until I was starting to get pressure to euthanize my beloved fur child.....
I left my dog here for a week while I went on vacation. He sometimes gets reactive around other dogs when he’s on a leash and we’ve been working with a trainer who recommended a pronged collar. I brought him in using that collar and asked to take it off in the lobby, assuming they would have a slip leash to use to take him back. They did not. The girl taking him back said they would take it off. When I picked him up he was wearing the pronged collar. I assumed they had put it back on. Once at home, I found that the collar was caked in blood and fur and he had multiple open wounds all around his neck. One looks infected. Nobody said anything to me at pick-up. He was supposed to be bathed on his last day there. I don’t know how they could have done that and not noticed all of these huge scabs and injuries. I think they left that metal prong collar on him for 7 days and nights. How many people handled and “cared” for my dog during that time and no one noticed multiple bleeding wounds? This place is at best neglectful and at worst callous and cruel. Pronged collars are training tools and anyone who handles dogs for a living should know they shouldn’t be left on a dog’s neck for 160 straight hours. Knowing that my dog spent a week here in what was most likely constant pain and irritation while they just ignored it is extremely upsetting. It makes me sick to think how uncomfortable he must have been every day and every night of his stay here. I don’t even have the words to adequately express how angry I am. These people have no business working with animals. If you care about your pets, take them someplace else.
I gave one star because I left my 13 year old lab/retriever and my 5 year old boxer/terrier on Saturday . I never received any photos of their day, and when I checked in on them I was told they were fine and nothing to report. When I picked my boys up on Monday my 13 year old lab/retriever was covered in feces. They sprayed him off and gave him to me wet. I ended up taking him to the ER because he was not acting right and where he needed fluids and antibiotics. My poor old man had colitis and dermatitis. He could hardly walk his paws were so sore. They neglected my baby and took no accountability. I am so disgusted. I was not allowed to pick him up on Sunday because they are closed. That was a medical emergency and I should have been called. My dog could have died. Never again will I trust these people with my family. BTW I’ve called 4 times with no answer. The owner NEVER contacted me!
I am trying to not come from a place of anger while writing this. My husband and I left our two dogs in the care of this pet resort from July 2nd to July 6th. Upon drop off we were not informed of an upper respiratory infection that had caused them to close their daycare services and weren’t informed until the day after when I called because one of my dogs was sick. When we picked up our dogs on the 6th the first thing we were greeted with was a giant infected sore on our German Shepherds face. The woman who brought them out to us then proceeded to ask if it was there when we dropped off and when we told her no she nonchalantly said oh well she must have rubbed her face on something. Irritated we left, our entire drive home our dogs were heavily panting and as soon as they got in our home the proceed to drink two bowls of water. About an hour after getting them home our lab was hacking and spitting up mucus, we immediately were scared and got a hold of our vet. The next day we were informed it was kennel cough from our vet and that we were the 12th case to come from this resort within the week and that they had informed the kennel of the outbreak before we checked our dogs in. The next day our German Shepherd also began to show signs of kennel cough. I am sitting here writing this review with two sick dogs that I have been up with for the last 4 nights. The resort told us nothing until we called and informed them our dogs were sick and started asking questions. They never called us though having all of our information to tell us our German Shepherd was injured in some way and didn’t notice that it had become infected. The pictures I’m sharing are the day we brought her home and it was already scabbed. They ask us for our vets information and make us sign something stating if something is to happen to our animals that they reserve the right to take them to the vet and we are to cover the bill. Instead of informing and honestly noticing at all this turned into infection and two more cases of kennel cough. I am livid. I will never bring my dogs back. I urge anyone that had their animals there during the time period we had our dogs there to get your animals checked out.
When I began looking for reputable boarding services for my "special needs" blind dog, two of the three facilities were not willing to take on the responsibility/liability for a blind dog. The Pet Resort at Greensprings was the only one who replied that they would happily take on the responsibility for my special needs dog. And his needs are not super difficult... just some patience, understanding, love, and humor is all that was needed. I have been overjoyed with the care, attention and love that the staff and owners, Jill and Jeff, have provided. The relief in knowing that my dog is in caring hands is amazing. I am aware that he could get hurt himself or get hurt during his visits (that's inherent anywhere) and I'm also aware that he could get sick during his visits (also inherent) but I have complete faith that the owners and staff take his care very seriously and would do everything possible to help him out. His tail is always wagging when he arrives and it's wagging when he leaves. I couldn't ask for anything else. Thanks Jill, Jeff, and their caring staff! You have a customer for life.
My pup loves the Pet Resort at Greensprings! We have a rescue German Shephard, and we wanted to keep her socialized with other dogs so decided to send her to doggie day care at Greensprings twice a week...plus she's still young, so she can burn some energy. The staff is fantastic and always takes great care of her. Our dog's favorite seems to be Jessica, but everyone there has been great, all the way up to the owner(s). They all have gotten to know our dog well and we are always confident she is in great and caring hands. We use them for both doggie day care and boarding, we have been extremely happy, and our dog loves going there. I highly recommend!!
-Update- Must’ve been calling at the wrong times, staff has been responsive and are super super friendly. Called almost 10 times throughout different times of the day and haven’t gotten an answer one time. Couldn’t imagine dropping my pets off somewhere that lacks basic communication
Brought my cat here yesterday because he's been losing hair randomly. The vets were super nice! My cat was nervous and hasn't done well on past vet visits but he actually came out to greet and get pets from the assistant who was writing down his info! Very reasonably priced and they tell you upfront how much you can expect to pay which is nice because I am not used to that. Really, REALLY liked how you could super easily book an appointment online basically immediately from your phone- which was a plus. You can see real time appointment availability and schedule whatever works best for you. I have found with other vets in the area they were super booked and busy and it was annoying to get in somewhere that didn't involve having to take time off work, so that was really convenient being able to schedule your own pet rather than the opposite. Was seen right at appointment time. They gave a GREAT new patient goodie bag too :)
Great place to board your dog. The staff all know my dog by name and seem to truly enjoy spending time with him. I feel good knowing he’s safe at VCA! The price is good for the area as well. Can’t recommend this place and their boarding staff enough.
Spoon decided to get some abscess infections that opened nasty looking wounds on their belly. Needed to get them checked just because. Was very lucky to get an appointment on a Saturday. Antibiotics, cleaning, and a collar to prevent licking. Good to go. Reasonably priced and up front about cost.
The staff was wonderful! We were camping 20 minutes up the road, when our dog ripped his nail half off. They got us in asap as we were not local and got him fixed up. They let us bring our other dog in with us to the appointment. Also, they let us hang out in the parking lot, while we waited for our baby boy to get out of his procedure. They were so pleasant and understanding. Our little man is doing so much better! Thank you!
With the Saturday hours cut, it really hurt us financially as we are losing hours/pay at work to take off and drive an hour to do our pups visits. If the vet opens on Saturdays again, I'll change my rating to 5 stars. Otherwise, I can only give 3 stars as this change effected us greatly. Very disappointed.
I am new to the area and just went to this vet for the first time. It was such a wonderful experience. They listened to all of my concerns about my senior dog, set me up with care club (which has already saved me $900), and ran X-rays and other tests on my pup during our first appointment. They really took so much time to talk to me and explain my options. I feel so grateful to I have found them. I would 100% recommend this place. Thank you so much.
Unfortunately it used to be a good place, my pet have prescription food for life and for some reasons it needs to get it updated every 6monts, I never had problems just walk in and get it printed, the last time they asked that my pet needs to be examined in order to get the prescription again even if I already have a primary vet (that's right next to my home), this place is my secondary place that I really trust ( my pet has been here 2 times and another pets multiple times). I will never get back here again and I feel really sad that it's all about money making...
I absolutely love this Vet. They've had their ups and downs from going to 24/7 emergency vet where it was difficult to get an appointment without it being weeks out. Since going back to a non 24/7 schedule the vet has returned to just what they were before. Our dog, Goku, started to have a seizure. At the time we didn't know what was going on and immediately grabbed him then hit the road. We called them first being our normal vet and the front desk said they could get him in around 1 hour from then. We mentioned we were already on the road so they said go ahead and come right in. While in the room with the vets he had two more seizures and they rushed him to the back where they stabilized him. Thankfully after many tests he is ok but may have seizures in the future so meds will help that. I want to thank the front desk person because they saved our dog. It it wasn't for them allowing us to be seen earlier he may not be here anymore.
The staff at VCA Merrimac has always been super friendly and helpful. They provide superior care to my 3yr old Yorkichon. They also help with direct shipments of any prescriptionzls to your home on a monthly basis making management of your animals care easy.
2024-02-11 It was very well laid out. I hate having my dogs in the waiting room and being crowded by another person's animals. You can't be sure they are friendly or contagious. Please use a leash on your dog. They will loan you one in a pinch, but you should have your dog under full control inside their facility. I have not used their emergency services since they stopped their overnight coverage. Talking to others that have gone for an emergency during the day, they have been happy with the service. The staff take the information and have you in an exam room pretty quickly. Lab results are done in a timely manner, and you often get a call with the results to go over any possible issues and answer questions. I have not experienced any delays between recommendation for a test or lab and their ability to conduct it. Blood work, x-ray, were straightforward. My dogs aren't afraid when with the vet tech and don't fuss or pull away. I do miss them being able to hold a dog overnight during an emergency. Having to move an injured or sick dog is upsetting for both humans and dogs. I feel all my animals have received great care at this facility. Other than when I see the price of prescriptions, I have always been glad during and after a visit. 2024-03-22 Arrived 10 minutes before the appointment. Quickly checked in, got the weight of my dog. Doctor had finished a bit early so I and my dogs went into a room a bit early. Tech took Extra and pulled two stiches. My dog came back and she was ready to go. As this visit was part of the original quote, so no charge. Easy Peezy Lemon Squeezy
We boarded our 2 German Shepherds at Stonehenge Kennel for 5 days and had an excellent experience. Stonehenge was accommodating and extremely affordable. I had lots of questions as I had never boarded either dog before, and Maddie always took the time to talk with me and answer my questions without ever getting annoyed. The facilities are clean, and you can tell they genuinely care about the animals. Plus, they wash and groom your dogs on the day of pickup. My pups were picked up on Sunday and still smell and look amazing today! They came back with no issues and were in good spirits. The picture of my pup is from the day of pickup. I can’t say enough good things about Stonehenge. HIGHLY recommend!
Doodle came out looking great with her summer haircut. 3 hours, great job and price. Definetly recommend the grooming. Boarding looks great too. Happy dogs!
They took great care of my afghan hounds! My dogs are fine with no stress. Their blankets were washed too! I love being able to check on how they are doing while I am away.
Great place..This is a well run family owned business...My dog LOVES to go here. He is well taken care of and we pick him up with no zero issues. We are very lucky to have found Stonehenge Kennels...Thank you for taking such good care of Saks!!!
My go-to place. They love our fur babies, and are so reliable! You can tell they have their passion in their hands.
We really feel good about leaving Marley in the care of the awesome husband and wife team at Stonehenge!
Stonehenge Kennels took good care of our sweet boy Kai for about 3wks due to a job relocation. I highly recommend them.
I boarded my dog for 5 nights while in Williamsburg. Hes 15 years old and I have boarded him at many places. This was the best place. I could tell he was well taken care of. he was clean and happy and prices were very reasonable. I would definitely board him here again.
Great place for dogs! Friendly and considerate staff. They care about your pets and provide outstanding care, highly recommend!!
We were in the area on vacation and boarded our two pups here. Our dogs received excellent care!! They enjoyed daily walks as well as having an indoor/outdoor kennel. Great staff and very reasonable prices!! We will bring our dogs here again when we are in this area to see family!
