They took such excellent care of our dog. This meant so much to us that while away on our trip for a while we did not have to worry about him because he was in excellent care. Roger and Susan really care for the pets they watch and he is always so happy to go there with his tail wagging. I can not say enough great things about them. I highly recommend taking your dog to them. Our dog is part of our family and they realize that and treat him so well. We are so impressed with what they do.

They took in my 8 year-old German Shepherd / Swedish Elkhound cross for an afternoon while I was in from out of town to visit my mother in assisted living. It was short notice, but very easily accomplished. They were lovely to work with and Bronny was happy and exhausted after spending the afternoon there - a great combination for the drive back home.

Our pup has stayed with Roger and Susan a handful of times now and they are absolutely amazing! They take such great care of him and treat all the dogs as if they were their own. They are also great at sending pictures to keep you updated. Each one I have received, I can tell that Zeppelin is living his best life with all his fur friends! It’s so wonderful to have a place to take your dog knowing that they are receiving the best care. I highly recommend Friendly Paws!

Our puppy’s first experience away from us. She almost didn’t want to come home after Roger and Susan spoiled her every day :) we got lots of pictures every day too. They were very responsive and accommodating at pickup. Very highly recommended.

Friendly Paws Pet Care is the absolute best! Our two beagles are considered part of our family. I wouldn't take them anywhere besides family or to Susan and Roger while we are out of town. We get pictures of the pups and their new friends all throughout the day, which I absolutely love! Thank you so much for always taking such great care of Stella and Kona =)

The best and only place I trust to care for my dog by far. Roger and Susan are highly attentive to the dogs needs and keep me updated with pictures and emails during my dogs stay. No kennels and plenty of play time means I can travel without worrying about my pup. Thank you Friendly Paws!

Absolutely the best possible place I could ever take my dog, Mick, he loves to go there and I have peace of mind when I am gone. Mick has separation anxiety when I am away from him, but he doesn’t when he is with Susan and Roger. As others have said love getting the pictures when I go away. So happy I found them. Jane Osowski

Roger & Sue love our dogs almost as much as we do. They board without kennels, and share them home with dogs and cats. I took a puppy and blind & diabetic senior labrador and they got terrific care for 11 days. We got many pics each day we were gone.

Roger and Susan are great. They treat our dog like it was there own. While we are away they sent pictures to show us our dog is playing with others.

Excellent, dedicated dog boarding. Sadie has the best time when she stays there.

Wish I would've known the groomer "absolutely hates golden doodles" maybe my dog would've had a chance. Would never recommend them. My dog went to a groomer for 3 years til she retired no problem. Went to good dog center and the called me 45 min later to pick him up "he didn't like the dryer, and was aggressive " Was told after this situation the groomer has told many people she hates golden doodles.

The Good Dog Center is a premier facility of the caliber one would expect to find in a large metropolitan city. The trainers are top-notch and can help one meet their goals whether that's developing a well-mannered companion or a top-notch competition dog. Individual lessons or group competition classes are offered. Grooming is also available with services including a head-to-toe makeover to nail trims.

I went out to get my puppy Pixie groomed. They did a really good job.

The Good Dog Center has the very best of everything when it comes to training dogs. The training staff are amazing and the facility is beautiful. They have invested so much time and energy in training my service dog. We make the 3 hour round trip 1-2 times a week and it is worth every minute!

I took my golden retriever here for the first time yesterday and was so impressed. I was extremely nervous as this was her first time but she did great and I’d highly recommend the Good Dog Center to anyone and everyone! Such friendly staff right when you walk through the door, great pricing and so much passion for what they do.

I've been taking classes at the Good Dog Center for 18 years with 4 different dogs. All instructors are very knowledgeable, whether you desire a well-mannered family companion, or want to participate in competitive trials.

An inadequate woman was asking people who PAID for participation in the dog show to park in a different place, (when their smaller building was the only one with some free spots). Was reserving parking for her clients. No special signs of course. Training is probably at the same level of incompetence and arrogance.

We took our dog for grooming (a teddy) he looked so cute. I definitely will be bringing him back.

I’ve trained my dogs, over the years, at the Good Dog Center since its very beginning. Even though I’m not currently competing with my dogs, I’ve enjoyed experiencing a wide variety of the training classes available through the GDC, from puppy k to competition obedience, rally, tracking, scent work, agility, Manners 2, Canine Good Citizen, and Fit Dog! I've also taken a variety of workshops. I’ve learned from a variety of instructors and they are ALL excellent. Each highly skilled instructor has his/her unique approach to teaching and I’ve found all to be effective. These instructors have taught me how to establish a wonderful relationship with my dogs. They’ve taught me how the little details in training make a HUGE difference. For example, my body language speaks loudly which impacts the performance of my dog (i.e., posture, pace, head direction, tone of voice, etc.)!! Plus, taking classes is just plain fun - it's another great opportunity to bond with my dog...and I laugh a lot. One of my dogs, Watson, has provided much comic relief to people in classes! LOL! So many fun things to do while in training class!! I'm looking forward to all the training fun I'll get with my next puppy!! Woo hoo! The skills I’ve learned in classes are absolutely transferable to life “outside the classroom” and have definitely enhanced the quality of my dogs’ lives as well as my own! The owners of the GDC exhibit wonderful teamwork and leadership. They set high standards for themselves and have been very successful in all levels of competition obedience and other dog sports with their own dogs. They have a positive approach to training and are effective problem solvers. If you have a problem with your dog – come to the GDC!!! This team of experts are effective at helping people accomplish their training/behavior goals with their dogs! I have experienced this expertise many times over the years. I’m very grateful for the GDC and I think we are all blessed to have this level of expertise and all of the wonderful training opportunities at our doorstep in Decorah!!

Ever hear the good old saying that goes "leave it better than you found it"? That is exactly how I found my dogs after leaving them with Deb! Dogs were clean and well taken care of when we picked them up. She and her staff are amazing! I will definitely be bringing my dogs back here.

The team at Canoe Ridge Kennels is absolutely phenomenal. I have used their feline boarding service 3-4 times for lengths ranging from 4 days to 3.5 weeks and the team is always so easy to work with. The rates are budget friendly, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you CRK for making the process of leaving my fur baby behind so smooth!

I'm so grateful for Canoe Ridge Kennels! They've been a real life-saver when I've needed last minute help for our dogs (Warning: book early for holidays and during the summer because they fill up early). I appreciate how easy they are to work with and how knowledgeable they are with dogs. Dietary requirements weren't an issue, I pack a bin for each dog with instructions and that's it. They also worked easily with my vet to get vaccination records. Most importantly to me is whenever I've emailed for a status update, the information they give me tells me they really take notice of my dogs and have taken the time to get to know them. Also love that they get groomed before I pick them up. When our dogs come home, they're always really happy!

We have taken our pets to Canoe Ridge Kennel since we moved to Decorah in 2013. Deb has always treated our pets very well and she is always kind and respectful when we drop off and pick up our dogs. Our lab, Charlie, was elderly when we moved to Decorah and had to be kenneled because our daughter was getting married in CA. Deb took him in and treated him with such a caring heart! We called several times just to check on him and she was always very sweet to let us know he was doing well. The newest edition to our family, Daisy Mae and her cousin, Mia, LOVE to go to the "puppy spa" for a weekend when we have to travel. They knows right what to do when they get there and I always feel like they are known and loved when we walk in. Thank you, Canoe Ridge Kennel, for all you do for our fur babies! Merry Christmas!

A great Kennel to work with. They are very responsive to email. We drive from Cresco because they are the best around.

Deb and Joy take such good care if our pets when they are there. They treat our dogs with such love and care that I don't worry about being away from them.

I never worry about my babies when i leave them here. They are very well taken care of!
