Providing Pet Sitting in the Eastford, Connecticut
Animal lovers wanting to travel the world and get pet cuddles along the way!!
Cindy and Dan are real pros - absolutely wonderful! We feel really lucky that they saw our sitting request and pursued staying with Kona for our long 25 day trip. We had a zoom call while they were sitting in Asia, and felt confident that we could trust them with our dog and our house. Their communication before and during the sit was perfect and thorough. They sent us many photos and videos every single day of our trip, and indulged me in long exchanges about how much I love Kona. It was obvious that they gave her all the love during their stay too. Kona got to go on her twice a day ball walks in the national forest near us, and she got to go on lots of excursions with them as well. She's a lab, so we needed sitters who would exercise her multiple times a day. Cindy and Dan are athletes too so fulfilled Kona's need for movement. It was obvious that Kona was comfortable and she even seemed to be confused when Cindy and Dan left the house at the end. We are so grateful for the love and time they put into making it a great experience, and I hope they feel the same about their time in the Colorado foothills with Kona the chocolate lab. Thank you, guys!! All the best, and keep in touch!

Trustworthy and Compassionate Housesitter.
This was Stephanie’s second time sitting for Hannah and Henry and these two shy kitties clearly remembered her and are very comfortable having her visit. Henry is a little less shy and cozies right up to her! It is so reassuring to leave them in such great hands!

US based sitter, looking to make new friends all around the world!
Carla is a wonderful sitter. Both my cats love her, even Shyla the very time shelter cat. Carla sent me pictures of them so I knew they were in good hands. It was so easy for me to not worry about things knowing that Carla was there taking care of it all. I would love to have her sit again and will definitely check with her on future sit needs. Having her only a few miles away is a real bonus,.

Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!

Chase and Blair really are fantastic sitters. This was the 2nd time they sat for us. Everything went perfectly, we came home to a clean flat and a happy cat. We’d love to have them back again!

Paws & plants- quiet and responsible house sitter
Marie was a great sitter. She came by just before I left so I could show her around and where the kitty stuff was. She informed me on how the cats were doing during the sit. the Apartment was in great condition when I returned. Cats did notice me coming home, but I could tell they had not wanted for attention from Marie. I recommend her for any sit you have coming up.

Considerate Caregiver for People, Pets, and Homes
Due to a family bereavement, I managed to get Tom to look after our home and pets. Everything, despite being last minute and very little time to have chats, was as I left it. Tom was great!

Lisa and her friend Sara were amazing pet and house sitters! We can't say enough great things about them - our pets were so calm when we returned from our trip and so happy... Lisa and Sara kept in touch with us regularly and sent us beautiful photos of the pets as well. We returned to a spotless home, fresh flowers and a note with polaroids of Soy, Calvin and Chickie! We absolutely loved hosting Lisa and Sara and highly recommend them, they are some of the best sitters we have ever had and they're welcome back anytime!!
Richard was exemplary as a house and pet sitter. He was attentive and thorough with his review of instructions, compliant with requests, provided regular home/pet updates, and maintained our home perfectly. An excellent citizen, mature house sitter and reliable.
I had the pleasure of having Tracey and her two children as house sitters, and I can't praise them enough for the incredible job they did. From the moment they stepped into our home, it was evident that they were dedicated, caring, and attentive to every detail. First and foremost, Tracey's approach to caring for our house and our beloved pets was nothing short of excellent. She has an innate ability to connect with animals, and it was clear from the daily updates and photos that our pets were happy and thoroughly pampered. The house was kept in immaculate condition, and they treated it with the utmost respect as if it was their own. Moreover, Tracey demonstrated remarkable responsibility and initiative when our AC system unexpectedly broke down. Without hesitation, she arranged for an HVAC company to come and fix the issue, taking time from her day to ensure our home was taken care of. Her willingness to front the repair costs until I could reimburse her was an act of kindness and trust that you rarely see. Tracey and her children's thoughtfulness and thoroughness provided me with peace of mind during my time away, which is priceless. I returned to a home that was just as I left it, if not better. Their stay was characterized by an extraordinary level of care and I was particularly impressed by how they left the house in perfect condition, with happy pets to welcome me back. I wholeheartedly recommend Tracey to any future hosts. Her reliability, compassion, and the ability to handle unexpected situations with grace are commendable. I would welcome Tracey and her children back to house sit in a heartbeat – they are exactly the kind of house sitters that one hopes for on this site! Thank you, Tracey, for everything. You and your children are welcome back anytime!
Rachel was an excellent pet sitter for my cat. She was a good communicator and also kept my place very tidy. She even left me a gift of a bar of chocolate upon her departure! Highly recommend.
Elaine was the best dog and cat sitter I have ever had! She was so loving to the boys, kind, reliable, capable and took fabulous care of my two dogs and cat welfare. Walked them every day and would even sing to them (-: I am so very grateful to have had the pleasure of meeting Elaine and I would recommend Elaine to anyone wanting first class care of pets and home!!! We all miss having her around and wish her a fabulous world trip and safe journey back to the States.
Exceptional Pet Sitters - Highly Recommend Diedre and Keith! I am thrilled to leave a glowing review for our trusted house and pet sitters, Diedre and Keith. They took exceptional care of our long-haired cat, Molly, and our home during our absence. Everything went incredibly smoothly, and their communication was top-notch. Dierdre and Keith provided regular updates, including delightful pictures of Molly, which put our minds at ease while we were away. Upon our return, it was evident that Molly had been well cared for and was content. The genuine love and understanding Diedre and Keith have for both dogs and cats was apparent in their interactions with Molly, and it was clear that they had made her feel comfortable and secure in their care. Their friendly and professional demeanor made the entire experience truly enjoyable. In addition to taking great care of our beloved pet, Diedre and Keith ensured that our home was in excellent condition upon our return. They even went the extra mile by informing us about the leftovers they left in the fridge, which was a thoughtful gesture. I wholeheartedly recommend Diedre and Keith as exceptional pet and house sitters. Their attentive and caring approach, coupled with their expertise, make them a perfect choice for anyone seeking reliable and trustworthy sitters. Don't hesitate to entrust your home and pets to this fantastic duo!
Deboraj took great care of the apartment and of our goofy unsociable cat. She went out of her way to bring catnip and make friends with Rowan. She communicated often and cared to be as good a house and pet sitter as could be. I can gladly recommend her highly to anyone else looking. Thank you Deborah.
5 stars? Minimum, seriously, Tyler exceeded our expectations and we are DEMANDING when it comes to caring for our 4 pups! Fortunate to meet Tyler in person about a month prior, instant rapport, and she was basically born surrounded by animals. Professional high energy, and enthusiastic love for animals! We asked Tyler "Why the heck would you drive 1.5 hours from Nashville to hang in our small town?" Tyler replied "Have had animals all my life, current Nashville location cannot, I need my animal fix!" Tyler arrived the evening prior to our departure, met our 4 dogs, the eldest is special needs with bad hips, the youngest a wild child 2 year old husky, and in the 15 years of having family or friends assist with our pup sitting, this is the most positive and enthusiastic our dogs have been to anyone outside our home. It was an instant love affair. Our dogs are so spoiled with mom & dad working from home, nearly 24/7 attachment, they typically become depressed, despondent, ornery, you name it, even if we go out for 2-3 hours. The 3 instances where we did an overnight trip or the like, they acted as if we had abandoned! When we came home after 3 nights away (was going to be 5 but business cut our first vacation in 10 years short), when we walked in the 4 of them looked up as if to say "Oh your home how nice" and were content as if we had never left. That is a FIRST in 15 years. Not only did Tyler provide us with updates, photos, messages, etc. she organized (we did not require nor ask) our complete chaos of a large kitchen drawers, pots pans, you name it, it was the most organized we have been in a LONG time. Our eldest handicapped Husky, usually has accidents in the house at least once a day. The youngest 2 year old loves to chew up the carpet, toys, bedding. Under Tyler's watch, no accident, no chewing, and total happiness from a new affectionate friend! This was our VERY FIRST Trusted House/Pet sitter foray, and Tyler far exceeded or expectations, and set a standard that will be difficult for others to follow. Allowing a total stranger to watch your beloved pets and home is a serious undertaking, and Trusted House/Pet provided us with a rock star. Family and friends alike joke how we are over the top with our dogs, and Tyler did not bat an eye, and provided a seamless transition of puppy affection and well being. This review may seem over the top to some, all I can say is this is 100% true to life, and other Home/Pet owners are welcome to reach out to us for further referral. Those who are able to work with Tyler depending on her work/travel schedule would be well served to invite her without hesitation. Tyler, THANK YOU for allowing us to enjoy a few nights for the first time in a decade! Dean & Diana Smith
If you’re lucky enough to find Anna as your pet sitter you will have peace of mind and well cared for pets whilst you are away and a clean and tidy home on your return. Anna is thoughtful and kind, she arrived the evening before the sit which allowed for some time to hear about her interesting travels and work, kept me updated with fabulous photos and details of the friendship she was making with the cats and even took the trouble to fix a sticky catch on the cat flap. I can recommend her as a sitter without hesitation. Thank you Anna
Gowri was very patient and caring with Irisi who got sick the day before I left. I cannot commend her enough for how she rose to the occasion and took care of my baby. She even pick up meds from the vet. My cat, Squinty, was very comfortable with her to jump in bed and wake her up early in the morning (as he would with me). I am not aware of him doing that to other sitters that have stayed at my place. I would give her 6 stars for Pet care if I can! She updated me with Irisi's condition which really help ease my mind, knowing someone looking after my furry really cared. I would certainly have her back again!

Committed team. The entire staff knew my puppy’s name when I dropped him off and he was happy, healthy and in a good mental state when i picked him him up. I’ll definitely board my pup here again, It’s worth the 80 mile drive each way to know my dog is happy and taken care off.
I was SO happy with my pups services! She looked SO cuuute & clean! She’s 4 months, her first grooming - so I’m sure it wasn’t easy, they did a great job & she seemed to have been so comfortable & happy with their team. I will definitely be using them for all their services again! Highly recommend!
Great people. They took care of my cat with no issues. Everyone was so friendly and inviting.
Thank you for taking care of Bellini for the last minute extented stay ! So nice to know we can depend on Morningstar !
The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Maverick comes home nice and tired out and always eager to go.
As a fur momma to a young skittish rescue pup and a first time user of a kennel, I had a lot of questions and nervousness. Morning Star immediately put me at ease. They kindly answered all of my questions, explained their daily routine and assured me my dog would be well care for. Morning Star patiently helped her overcome the initial anxiety, then eased her into the social groups to play and make friends. After 8 days I returned to a very happy, groomed and tired-in-a-good-way pup! I would recommend Morning Star to anyone looking for a safe, loving, home environment for their dogs that will ease your mind while you are away.
Lily loves her time at the pet resort. Everyone is very caring and I have no concerns leaving her there when I am away and can't have her with me. They do a wonderful job grooming as well.
Hello, My dog stayed at Morning Star Farm for the second time this past August and the staff were great. The resort and farm are a wonderful place for a dog if your dog is the type that would like a farm and has a lot of energy. The fact that this may be the first review I have written in years should speak volumes. Don’t hesitate to book-you won’t regret it and the break from your dog is nice one in a while! In closing we were very pleased and will use Morning Star again in the future!
Absolutely wonderful staff my 3.5 month old puppy was a rockstar and she loved playing with everyone. I can’t say enough about the care she got
Stephanie did a great job introducing me to the facility and procedures. I have only left our pup there one day but I was pleased with everything. Bella a happy but tired pup when I picked her up.
I honestly can't say enough good things about this business. I live full time in my motorhome, and frequently stay at a campground in Sturbridge. I mostly stay here due to it's proximity to Boston for medical appointments. The staff at Paw Plaza is unfailingly kind to both me and my two dogs! I usually use Paw Plaza for boarding, which includes day care, which is an awesome benefit. I have multiple times had to extend my boarding times, even on the day that I was supposed to pick my dogs up, and the staff has been understanding and kind about the extensions. I NEVER get any kind of attitude from them whatsoever, even though I'm kind of a pain in the a$$ sometimes :-) Also, they do everything the way that it's supposed to be done. All the i's are dotted and the T's crossed. All of the staff is completely onboard, and you can ask any of them any question, and they can answer it. Their internal communication is outstanding. Living like I do, I have seen boarding establishments all across the country. Paw Plaza is the best that I've come across. I
My 11 month old Labrador loves it there. And the staff are so nice. She comes home and just falls asleep. It's wonderful.😂 …
Paw plaza was able to schedule a last minute reservation. Doc had a great week.
My dog absolutely loves Paw Plaza! She goes for grooming and daycare some days. As soon as she sees the building she gets super excited. I reccomend Paw Plaza to everyone I know with dogs.
We were staying down the road at a RV park and needed a doggie play day and overnight for our two dogs. Everyone I interacted with gave me comfort and confidence that my pets would be well cared for. I was very pleased and will use this business again when in the area.
Paw Plaza is simply a wonderful place to bring your dogs to! The staff at Paw Plaza are all Personable, Utmost Professional, Compassionate and Very Dedicated in their fields of expertise in making sure that every dog that enters through their doors are taken care of 100% with loving care♡ I'm a very Thankful and Grateful customer today!♡:)*
Paw Plaza has been such a find for our pup. He's a very anxious little guy and the first day he went, Hadley, the owner, spent the whole 4 hours he was there with him making him comfortable. We've been going back ever since for daycare & boarding. I can't say enough good things about them! They have helped our dog become a more confident, happy guy!
My dog has a regular schedule for daycare at Paw Plaza and also boards. He’s stayed overnight three times now. He loves it all. It’s easy to tell that he’s having a ball because he never hesitates to go. He’s very enthusiastic and excited to get in the car when he knows he’s off to Paw Plaza. The entire staff is welcoming and inviting and they take the best care of my dog. They know him, they know his habits, they know what he likes and dislikes and are always accommodating. I have no worries or anxiety when he’s there which says a lot because I love my little French Bulldog more than anything.
I cannot praise Paw Plaza enough! I am a new dog mom and my furry kiddo (Ladybug) missed playing with other dogs. I did a lot of research and went to Paw Plaza to check everything out. My anxiety was through the roof however everyone was kind and nice to me and answered all my questions. It’s a clean facility with a very nice, kind and caring staff. Ladybug loves being there, she is very well taken care of, and comes home happy and tired. Courteous and professional service and once again, my baby is loved and happy. We also tried grooming, and it’s absolutely superb!
I boarded both of my dogs here and can't say enough about the compassion and professionalism of the staff here. Paw Plaza's facilities are top notch and the staff goes above and beyond to care for each pet as if they were their own. Grooming services are great and they were able to trim my Rottweiler's nails with minimal difficulty. This is noteworthy as she has required sedation for this in the past when receiving grooming services elsewhere. Pretty amazing team!
Absolutely amazing. We had taken our little Nino to Petco for grooming which was a disaster. He came back with his coat all uneven and smelling foul. We decided to try Woof and Whiskers and were so happy with the wonderful job they did! Jaqui is so professional and knowledgeable. We couldn’t be happier with how handsome our baby boy looks! Model material!
I have a rescue dog and was advised never to board him, so when my whole family had to travel for a family event, I was a bit panicked. Then I found Woof & Whiskers. Pamela and her team are skilled with animals, their accommodations are clean and comfortable for the pups (and they’re making additions too), the play area is spacious, and overall, it’s a great place with positive energy! We were able to visit before we booked, which was great, and pick up was smooth and easy. Their base boarding fee is reasonable and you can add on services like daycare, walks, grooming, etc…for an additional charge. Overall, it was a great experience and I would not hesitate to bring my dog here again. Thanks Woof & Whiskers Team!
Excellent care of our pup Ruby. Great grooming and boarding services. Have used them 3 times now and never been disappointed and always come back to a happy pup! Will definitely use them again!
Took a friend to drop off her two pets(dog&cat)to be cared for while she was having surgery it turned out being longer than expected. She was pleased with the care and prices were bad compared to other local places.
We love woof and whiskers inn they are so accommodating!! The owner is so passionate about animals and I love that ! We boarded our dog ace here. It was the first time he’s ever been boarded . The owner took such good care of ace ace he has so issues and she was so accommodating to them. Ace came home a happy boy! She even sent him over to her grooming side for us for pick up and didn’t charge us for another day . I would absolutely recommend this place for your fur baby . :)
I am the founder of Big Hair Animal Rescue and I have been using Jacqui for years. She's an amazing groomer and great with our often challenging dogs. Highly recommend her!
We boarded our AmStaff Maverick at Woof and Whisker Inn for 6 nights. We couldn't have been happier, family owned/run. You can tell they genuinely care about and get to know your pet compared to the more commercial chains. Rates were very reasonable, highly recommended.
We boarded our cat Layla for a week. They took wonderful care of her. I was a little nervous but the sent me pictures of her and would text me with updates and answers to and questions.
My dogs are always happy to see me after work trips but they always have fun with the staff and other dogs during boarding. Decent price, nice, clean facility, great staff. They love animals. You can trust them to take good care of your fur baby.
We have used Wood and Whiskers for over 10 years for both boarding and grooming. They are a wonderful family owned business. We have always felt comfortable bringing our 2 Great Danes and Schnauzer here. Even though we could have brought our dogs to a closer facility, we thought the drive was worth it. We have always had great service.
Fantastic place for overnight boarding! I just moved to the area and prefer a boarding/daycare location over burdening someone to take care of my high maintenance Frenchman. I love how I can completely customize his stay with playtime/snacks/webcam options etc. Being able to peek in on him in his suite while I’m away helps relieve my anxiety so much as well. Everyone on the team there is so kind during every interaction and on the phone. I’ve taken my little guy to large boarding locations like this where I used to live and this experience is much better in terms of not overcrowding and the ratio of team members to pets. You don’t need to worry about your pet being ignored or missing a meal, they are on top of it! My guy loves it here and we will for sure be returning in the future!
My boyfriend and I boarded our dogs here for five nights and it was not a good experience. Firstly, we boarded them around Labor Day Weekend. Which limited us on kennel selection (It happens). However, we wanted our dogs together for comfort purposes. While the sizes are listed, the rooms appear to be smaller than expected. They also removed one of the beds from the room. Luckily, my boyfriend thought to bring a pillow that one of our dogs sleeps on. Otherwise, this small room would have had two dogs and one bed. No one from the facility informed us of this until I called inquiring about the second bed (We paid for the webcam services). They remove the second bed to give the dogs more space. If you are having to remove a bed, you probably shouldn’t have two dogs sharing a room. Note* this space was for a Husky 53 pounds and an Australian Shepherd 42 pounds. One of our dogs does not always play well with others. So, we selected family play time in their al a carte services. I called and stated our other dog can do regular play time along with family play time. They didn’t listen to instructions and just applied one piece of information to both dogs. There was diarrhea in our dogs room on two separate occasions. I had to call the facility both times to bring this to their attention. Took about a half hour for them to clean the room. Also, because they didn’t know which dog it came from, it limited their overall play time. Our dogs are very active and I don't think they took them out consistently for family or group play time. One of our dogs had diarrhea for four days after coming home. Likely due to stress. They never called to let us know about any medical issues. Overall disappointed in facility services and communication. In the photos below, you can see the two separate occasions of one or even both our dogs having diarrhea. It goes from bad to worse, never got a call. You can see the in picture where the bed is moved, our Aussie is alone with the door to the patio closed. Where is our other dog and why is she left alone in a dirty room with no air flow? I doubt any human being would want to be locked and left in a room with feces all over the place. Disgusting. Paid over $500 for this luxury treatment.
These guys are the most trustworthy pet care facility that you will find. I had to go in for eye surgery, so I knew I had to find a place for my dog Nacho. He had stayed here before and it was a great place for he and I.
We are Very particular with who watches my dogs as they’re the closest thing too kids to me we have been using the barkwood even since changing ownership and have had no issues. It’s nice being able to see our babys when we are away. Thank you BWI.
My two dogs (two years old) stayed with Barkwood this past weekend while I was out of town and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. The facility is beautiful and well maintained, which immediately made us feel better about our dogs staying there. Every staff member we spoke to was kind and answered all of our questions. The webcams were so fun and allowed us to make sure our dogs were behaving and having a good time. One of our dogs refused to get in the car when after we picked them up! They had such a good time, and the pricing was so reasonable we are looking forward to using their boarding services again soon! We truly felt like our dogs were safe, well cared for, and loved!
We can't express enough how beyond satisfied we are with Barkwood Inn. We had our granddog Hunter there for 30 days. Staff is so caring, everytime i called to check in on Hunter the Staff was very pleasant and friendly answered all my questions. I love how they take daily pictures of the dogs. When we pick Hunter up he is always so clean and obedient . Their facility is crispy clean and top notch. We highly recommend Barkwood Inn. GIve them a try you won't be disappointed. Sincerely , Cheryl & John Wrona
I only went there to submit my résumé, but the location seems very clean. The employees are very friendly and the clients seem pretty happy so that's all I can say for now, but if I have anything to add, and I certainly will. thanks for talking to me, Barkwood!!
Thank you, Barkwood Inn, for another great stay for my dog Dottie. If it’s a short stay or a bit longer I trust that my pup is safe, well cared for and enjoys her time romping with the other dogs. Thank you to everyone at BWI for taking such good care of my pup, I’m grateful to have an excellent home away from home to count on when away. You are the absolute BEST❣️❣️❣️
Very friendly staff. Puts you at ezz leaving your buddy behind
We boarded our 2 medium sized pups here for 2 nights and they are both tuckered out. This was the first time we boarded them. They were able to give us a tour of the facility and the various rooms for the dogs are all great sizes. Every question we had they answered. We didn't get the webcams (it is an option) but we did get to see the pups playing on the webcams in the yards. Will be going back if they have rooms, highly recommend!
My pup has been attending Happy Dogs for training & Yappy Hour since he was a baby. He’s almost 4 now and always looks forward to going to Yappy everyday!
Mylo has been a Happy Dog with Jan and her staff for over 13 years. Jan trained Mylo when he first arrived in our home. He loves seeing her for walks and fun!!
I used Happy Dogs @Home for overnight pet sitting for 2 trips I went on and they were wonderful both times. Jan, the owner, scheduled a visit ahead of time to meet my dog and find out more about him. My dog doesn’t tend to warm up to people right away, but he warmed up to Jan immediately, so I knew that was a great sign! I was able to go on vacation knowing my dog was at home and in good hands. Anytime I reached out for an update, I’d get a quick response with a photo attached. Jan was also able to help out with my dog’s mealtime behavior. He has always been a picky eater and mealtime was always difficult; one week with Jan and now he eats his food as soon as I set it down. Thank you Jan!
Jan’s training was the best and so helpful for us as new pet owners. Now Poppy attends happy yappy hour. She loves getting to run around with all of her friends!
Absolutely love Happy Dogs and so does my pup! All the handlers treat my dog with the best care and i feel so comfortable with him in their capable hands. They truly care about their clients and their pets. Would b lost without them. They are a local business too....even better!
This small business is one of the most professional and personal there is around! My dogs are my children and I know I can be a handful with how picky I am about their care, but Jan and her business make my dogs and I feel like family. I trust all my training and pet-sitting needs to this them, able to vacation comfortably knowing my dogs are looked after as if they are the sitter's own.
I am more than happy to highly recommend the services of Jan as a professional trainer and pet sitter. I first met her at a group dog walk about a year and a half ago and was very impressed with how well she communicated with the many dogs. I then contacted her to sit for my 1 year old Wheaton Terrier while I was on vacation. Brady was so undaunted by my absence that I have used her pet sitting services every time I travel. My goal for Brady is to go into pet therapy and recently asked Jan to train him for that role. Under her tutelage, he has shown great potential and I give her great praise for training both of us! In short, I can only say that Jan has made my relationship with my dog much simpler, less stressful, and a lot more fun! She just “gets” how to communicate what you want your dog to do in a way that both you and your dog understand.
Amazing small business that truly cares about you and your pets. They take the time to get to know each pet individually, and care about your pet being happy! Definitely true to their name and wouldn't recommend anyone else
Jan and her team are excellent. They are knowledgeable, professional and passionate about training pups to be their best puppy selves! We’ve been bringing our dog, Carmie, once a week to Yappy Hour for quite some time and she has come a long way. Because of Happy Dogs at Home training, Carmie is well behaved and absolutely excellent with other dogs and has gone from a total scaredy cat to a much more confident young lady. 🐶
The owner is amazing with people and dogs alike, an all around good person. Very knowledgeable and compassionate. The only dog care business I trust with my pup.
We recently sent our two 8-month old Labrador retrievers for four-week e-collar off-leash training with Carlee. We truly cannot say enough great things about the QK team from our first inquiry to the day we picked them up. Carlee was INCREDIBLE to work with. She is so knowledgeable and passionate about her job, which shined through in the growth and progress she made with our dogs. They are so much calmer, happier, and more focused after the time they spent working with Carlee. Professional training is an investment, but doing it through QK was a great decision and was worth every penny.
Just picked up my 7 mo. GSP puppy from a 2 week puppy training/intro to bird training with Carlos and I could not be more thankful! He is so much more confident, calm and respectful. It’s like night and day! I can’t wait to continue his training with QK and Carlos!
I have been taking my dog there for over a year for training and play care. She absolutely loves going and is so tired when she gets home. The trainers are great and my dog and I have learned so much from them. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I am very comfortable leaving her at QK and I know that she is in great hands.
Carlos and the QK team did a fabulous job on training my lab. It's a blast to watch her enjoy the freedom of off leash exploring. Amazing upland bird capabilities too! Extremely professional establishment and wonderful people. Highly recommend!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Quinebaug Kennels (QK Dogs) and their incredible team. My Weimaraner, Tepper, recently completed a six-week training program with QK, and the experience has been nothing short of transformative for both of us. Watching her confidently work in the field, pointing and flushing out birds with precision, was a proud and unforgettable moment. Jennifer Broome, the amazing trainers Carlos and Travis. From the setup calls with Hillary, to millions questions Kyrena patiently answered for me every time I called, to the support staff behind the scenes that feed, bath, fill water bowls and so on, her entire staff went above and beyond throughout the entire process. Their dedication, professionalism, and consistent communication kept me informed and involved every step of the way. As a canine professional myself, I deeply appreciate the level of transparency and collaboration they offered. It truly felt like a partnership, where every question was welcomed, and every concern was addressed with care. The staff at QK demonstrated not only remarkable skill in training but also genuine love and respect for the animals in their care. They treated Tepper as one of their own, fostering her natural abilities and building her confidence. This journey has not only improved her as a bird dog but also strengthened our bond, making me a better leader for her. If you’re looking for a training facility that combines expertise with empathy, Quinebaug Kennels is the place. I am beyond grateful to be part of the QK family and highly recommend them to anyone seeking the very best for their dog. Thank you, QK Dogs, for everything! Personally speaking, the grounds are amazing. The property is absolutely perfect for training dogs. So glad that we chose QK Kennels. I dealt with Hilary and Carlos. And I would certainly utilize them again. Our little fireball has learned so many good things from this location. And we are quite happy with the results. Thank you so much!
I had a chance to visit the kennel and was impressed with the size, professionalism and scope of services they offer. It’s no wonder their client base is so large and diverse.
We are sorry to share our extremely negative experience with QK. We intended to board our dogs 6 weeks ago but were called by the staff the day before their scheduled arrival and were told the kennel had an outbreak of kennel cough. We understood this happens to kennels so elected not to board our dogs for their health and safety. Over a month later, we reached out and asked the staff if the kennel cough had been resolved. We were told it was. We elected to enroll our dog in the month long training. We asked to staff again when we dropped off our dog if the kennel cough outbreak had been resolved and they said yes. One week later, we were notified via email that our dog had contracted kennel cough. We promptly called the on-site vet and had a great conversation about our options. We were of course upset our dog was sick but the vet thanked us for our understanding. We appreciated her walking us through the issue and solution. Our bigger concern was that we had been told explicitly twice that the outbreak had been resolved, so we asked to speak to someone in charge. If we had been told is still ongoing, we would not have brought our dog to QK until later date. Hours later we received a call from the owner Jennifer. We truly have never been spoken to as Jennifer spoke to us. She was in an absolute rage screaming at the top of her lungs, swearing, and telling us we had to pick up our dog within 45 minutes (even though we don’t live close to QK). Our entire family heard Jennifer screaming and recorded her. as it was somewhat unbelievable how she was acting saying “this was the first day of her vacation.” Needless to say we won’t be putting our dogs at QK in the future. We would’ve had a fine experience (despite our dog getting sick) if it weren't for the shocking behavior of Jennifer. Our hope was she would do the right thing and shut down and clean the facility to ensure more dogs didn’t get the kennel cough. Unfortunately since that is not the case, we do not feel comfortable with the level of cleanliness, subsequent neglect, and the deceit that took place . We are genuinely concerned about the number of dogs being infected due to owners not being told about the cough outbreak (or in our case being explicitly told otherwise)!
We did an extended training camp for my two dogs over a year ago. They had been a bit unruly enthusiastic puppies before, hard to walk on a leash and I could never let them loose to run in a park. But after their boot camp, they are so well behaved. Even now, over a year later they LISTEN to me. For example, they both suddenly sped off after a daring squirrel and I called "here" and they stopped (!!!!) and came back to me, mid-pursuit. As a result of their QK training they are happier and calmer. Thank you QK!!!!
My pup has been coming to QK for just under a year now, and the transformation he's made over that time span is incredible. We’ve worked with Chris, a fantastic trainer at QK, on making him into a gun dog, and while we still have a lot of work to do, there’s no doubt that my dog is in the best, most qualified hands. The facilities are clean, the property is well-kempt, and the staff is polite and helpful. I’ve also done a seminar here, and the guests that they bring in for these events are some of the biggest names in the gun dog world. Jennifer runs an unmatched facility, and choosing to come here has been one the best decisions I’ve made in turning my pup into a gun dog. You’re getting every penny that you paid for, and your dog will make strong progress in every way.
