This is such an amazing location for dog boarding, training, and daycare. Stacey is an awesome trainer who uses positive reinforcement, helping my pups learn and enjoy it. Both of my dogs enjoy staying there, having opportunities to run around in a large area yet remaining safe, and playing with other dogs. Stacey and Kenny create a fun and safe environment for my dogs to stay and I never have to worry about them while I'm away. Thank you for creating an awesome home away from home for our pups!

To tell you the truth I am shocked it's taken me so long to give a review of Country Road Canines! We've had our dogs going to Stacy and Ken for years, literally. Stacy has trained several foster dogs and dogs we adopted. She is an amazing trainer who addresses the dog from where they are at and builds from there. Goals set and a foundation achieved, followed by more goals and talking to the owner in a way I've never experienced before-it just finally makes sense! Training (and behavior modification) are just a couple of her skills. We've had a somewhat hard to manage dog for years (she's made leaps and bounds with Stacy's assistance!) but we like her to stay where she feels comfortable and we don't have to worry...so Chelsea has been going to spend some quality time with Stacy and Ken whenever we have to go on a trip. She loves it there. She gets one on one attention-check their FB page and you'll see our Chelsea cuddling with Ken- We don't have a worry in the world with Stacy and Ken. We've been using Country Road Canines for years and have never ever had a complaint or mishap! Next time you need to leave your pet somewhere call Stacy and Ken. They have a beautiful, fenced property and give the family atmosphere that you want your dogs to have when you away. I highly, highly recommend Stacy and Ken. Doesn't our girl look relaxed and happy with Ken?

My dog had the best time at Country Road Canines. She was there for 3 weeks and had a ball. Such a great place…. I would give them 6 stars if I could.

Stacy came recommended as a boarder for our reactive Belgian Malinois, in part, because of her familiarity with the breed. While we had left our pup with one other boarder, it was never an ideal introduction and it lacked the space that a super active dog requires. Stacy shared relatable experiences and did not seem the least bit hindered by the behaviors we described for our Mal. Rather, she set up a meet and greet to see if her facility was a good fit. It WAS! Within a few days of our pup's first overnight boarding, Stacy had our pup playing with dogs! While we always wanted this for our pup, dog intros were to say the least, anxiety provoking for all. Boarding has since parlayed into more reactivity training for our Mal. We are hoping that as our pup develops more self-confidence playing with other pups that we will start to see improvement with Stacy's training. Needless to say, Stacy and Ken are a God send. We know that when we leave our pup with them, she will be treated like Country Road Canine royalty! Thank you Ken and Stacy!

Stace and Ken are great with our dogs. It is obvious that our dogs love going there as they both get very excited when I turn down road to the dog resort. I can hardly contain them when we get to the gate. I can't say enough good about Country Road Canines.

The best at taking care of my rescue Shepherd (mix) Henley. She can be a handful at times but they always take such wonderful care of her. I wouldn't take her anywhere else. Awesome folks and great at what they do.

So we have used the fields on the property (Sniffspot) but haven’t used their services. We have a dog that we rescued with some issues and have not taken a vacation in 4 years that we didn’t have our dogs with us because we didn’t trust our dog with anyone. We did a couple meet ups, a practice run had them stay 24hrs and last weekend was the first time leaving them for 5 days. They did amazing! This facility is professional understand the working dog breed and took amazing care of our boys. I can’t rave enough.

This was the first time leaving our dogs anywhere ever, but they were well cared for and happy when we picked them up. Thank you so much Ken and Stacy!

Karla’s Pet Care does such a fantastic job! Our pets were frankly a nightmare while we were gone, the cat refused the litter box, the dog kept getting in the pantry and gave herself diarrhea. On top of that we had to keep changing our schedule and they rolled with all of it. They did a great job of keeping us informed while not stressing me out about my pets while I was on vacation. 10/10 highly recommend!

I loved this!! I'm always nervous about people being in my house when I'm not there but after the pre-visit my nerves were put to ease. Karla and Kayla are so nice and professional. Kayla is the one that took care of my fur babies when I was gone. She kept me updated with detailed daily check ins and pictures of them. I loved it and it made me feel so good that they were in great care. On top of all that she brought in my mail and took my garbage cans to the curb! It made a HUGE difference coming home late from a long trip and and not having to clean up cat litter, clean cat barf, or take the cans out etc. Thank you ladies for everything!!!

Karla was wonderful! From the pre-visit to scheduling changes and taking great care of our pets while we were away. Even helped bring in the trash bins and water some plants. All with daily updates and pictures! Great service.

March 2021 update- Karla and her team continue to provide wonderful care. We started their new poop pickup service and it has been so helpful and convenient. Joe goes above and beyond and has communicated with us actively to address any concerns. I highly recommend! Karla and her team have been caring for our pets whenever we go out of town for over a year. They are easy to work with, friendly, and affordable. My favorite part is receiving an update and pictures of our pups each day during their care, so fun and comforting!

Camp bow wow is the absolute best. We have been boarding our dog Winston here for extended stays for about 2 years… and every visit I feel more comfortable with the care I know he will receive. The staff is always so excited to see him when he checks in and share the cutest stories about his behavior during his stay. The facility is clean, they accommodate special feeding requests, the dogs are all so friendly, and you can even check in on your pup via the app cams. It can be so hard leaving your pup for trips but there are no better hands to leave them in than Camp Bow Wow Elk Grove!

After my third visit to this facility I am convinced that this is the place for my pup! The staff has been nothing but amazing and I feel my pup is well cared for and safe when in their care. As a graduate student at CSUS, I am constantly stressed for time. Had a great experience with Camp Bow Wow. Everyone kind and went out of their way to make my rescue dog feel secure and happy.

I scheduled my high energy 1.5 year old Labrador pup, MAC, for his first interview this past Monday and I have to say that my husband and I had a great experience with the staff that day. From check in to check out, the staff was friendly. Miko (spelling?) was the one who greeted us when we checked in, he took Mac for his assessment and then came out to let us know our boy fit right in and he was welcome to stay for the day. We watched the live cams throughout the day and saw our pup running around and playing with a ton of other dogs, which is what we wanted. It's great to be able to leave him somewhere to run off his pup energy in a safe environment. When I picked Mac up, another male staff member greeted me and let me know Mac did great. I know it's only been one day but we definitely will be using their daycare services soon, possibly even boarding and grooming. Thank you Camp Bow Wow EG!

We had a great experience at Elkgrove Bow wow. Our pup stayed 10 days. They gave our dog her medication and gave her a bath. I called midway into our trip to check in and they were very descriptive to put me at ease. Love Camp Bow Wow.First pup started coming here in 2015 and we have continued with our new family member 2023. Highly recommend them.

Whitney is AMAZING! She went above and beyond for us the first time we worked with her. We had just rescued a 3rd dog about a month prior and we thought that he would be okay with us being gone for a weekend while she watched them and he destroyed the house🤦🏼‍♀️ Whitney cleaned up some messes for us which was not something she needed to do however she did it any ways! Whenever we go out of town she will be the first person we reach out to!!

We hired Whitney for 5 days while we went on vacation, and she did not disappoint! She was very responsive, and we loved having pics and updates of our pets from her. It was such a relief to not have to worry about our cats and dogs back at home because she took care of everything! I’m sure our pets were sad to see her go :) If you are in need of a sitter, she will NOT disappoint!

We are THANKFUL for Elk Grove Pet Care. We were away for TWELVE days, which is hard to do. The last time we were away this long out pet/house sitter BAILED on us mid trip. We scrambled while internationally away to find a sub. It was awful. Our husky was unfortunately ignored and it was sad to see on camera. Our fur babies love them. We used to board but we couldn't anymore with our new addition. Our high anxiety girl does not let anyone touch her but us four. They were patient with her and she LOVES them, let's them pet her, and even JUMPING in Whitney (owners) lap! This is so huge for our girl. BIG socialization step for her!! They take the best care and we are at peace when we're away. I cannot be more happy with the reliability and caring passion they have.

I’ve used Elk Grove Pet Care multiple times for the care of my two dogs and have great experiences. Whitney has taken wonderful care of dogs who range from high anxiety old weiner dog to high energy golden retriever puppy. I trust her in my home and with the care of my dogs and have had no issues.

The prices are reasonable and I can rest assured that my dog is being taken care of while I'm out of town. He always gets a ton of exercise and interaction with other dogs. He comes home and passes out for a day or two afterwards because of all the excitement.

Jeri and her team are excellent and take care of your pets like they are there own! We've been coming here for years now and they know our 2 dogs well. They ways great them with open arms and know they love to give hugs. They have indoor/outdoor kennels that are wonderful for our big dogs as they can run even when in their own kennels. They also get yard time with other dogs paired for their temperaments and style of play too. The first time there, they paired our dog and watched him to make sure he fit well! When we pick them up they are always tired from playing so much. I would highly recommend Badger Creek Kennels.

Needed a last minute place for my pets while I went to San Francisco for a few days, and thankfully they had availability. I typically don't board my dogs, so I was a little worried about how they would do. Staff were very friendly when I dropped them off, and when I came to pick them up my dogs seemed very happy and not traumatized. What a relief. Happy to know this place is close by if I ever need it. I am so thankful to have found Badger Creek Kennels!! I boarded my small dog for 4 nights. This was the first time my little chi came home happy and not nervous/clingy like she has previously with other boarding facilities. My 2 dogs just had a wonderful experience over at Badger Creek Kennels this weekend! We were throwing our human son's birthday party and wanted the dogs to have a great day as well, not stuck in the garage while 6 year olds ran a muck in the house. Our vet recommended Badger Creek, saying they were family run and super reputable, and that's exactly the experience we had. The owner, Jeri, was so helpful on the phone alleviating any of my concerns (since this was their first "kennel" experience, especially the first for our rescue since her time in the shelter), and was consistently on point with which vaccinations were required (even calling our vet to confirm when we forgot to bring documentation for the latest shot). The dogs were happy when they got there, and so happy and worn out from running in the yard and having a blast that they didn't want to leave, and slept as soon as they got home! Since they did so well, I can't wait to bring them back so enjoy their days on the farm with Jeri and the other dogs. Bully-breed friendly for our 2 rescues! Thanks so much, Jeri! The people here were generous enough to allow me to use their port o potty in a moment of need. I was there out of town for work in the middle of nothing but farmland. No public restrooms for miles. They didnt hesitate when i asked to use their mobile bathroom. Thank you!

A Local Gem! Sunset Kennels has taken loving care of our dogs, from puppies to seniors, for several years. We’re delighted to be able to go on vacation knowing that our dog is having a great time too at his “second home”. We’re pleased with their prices and like that playtime is included in the cost because it is a must for our active dog. Our dog can’t wait to get out of the car when we pull up to the kennel, and that’s the best review we can think of. Everyone at the kennel has shown a genuine love for animals, individualized attention for our dog, and excellent customer service, all delivered in beautiful, sparkling clean and expansive facilities. I’ve been utilizing the services of Sunset Kennels for over 5 years. It’s my only go to place for my dog and cats. The facility is owned and run by the most compassionate and knowledgeable people in the business. With veternarian office employment beginnings and first hand knowledge of the ins and outs of raising and caring for all breeds of dogs and cats, I have never walked away from dropping off my “kids” and feeling that they were not going to get the very best of care from all who work there. I really shouldn’t post this because I know every time I recommend Sunset Kennels I think that it will get to the day that they might not have enough space to accommodate my needs. But if that were the case, it would just make me happy to know that their success just continues to show their excellent care and compassion that they have for whomever they are accommodating. Highly recommend Sunset Kennels. My senior cat has a chronic med condition and was just diagnosed with a secondary issue, starting a new med. They did the necessary med treatment and got him to take the pill (something I struggled with), his room was spacious and quiet, and they returned him to me after six days calm, happy, and all brushed and fluffed. Couldn't be more pleased.

Took our Golden to the splash pad night. They had the nicest facility!! So much room for the dogs to run around in, very clean and no broken toys/furniture. My golden had so much fun and I will definitely be signing her up for a day care session.

Great place to take your dog for day care or swim fun. I've taken my bullmastiff to day care and open swim. She lived both and came home tired and happy. Bit expensive buy you're paying for good care of your dog. I really appreciate that they screen your pet and have separation of different temperaments. Open swim in wknds is great and pretty cheap at $10 per dog. I highly recommend and will be back often. They have boarding service too, but I've never used it.

We rented the pool with some dog park friends and had a blast. The staff are very friendly and the pool was ready to have our pack of dogs rage. Some seating provided, bring a towel for yourself and wear clothes you don't mind getting soaked because the dogs will shake all over you!

The staff here is great! Our pup had an amazing day swimming here, we are planning on coming back for daycare :) (And I must say... It's so refreshing to find a place where pitbulls are treated equally!)

I took my dog, Huffy, to the Animal Den for their open swim. She had a blast! All the doggies loved the pool and I got to enjoy some wine while she played. It was a win all around! My only gripe is the admission fee is $10. The fee is reasonable but it does keep us from going as frequently as we would like!

My dog has been going here for daycare 4 days a week for the last year and is so happy and excited whenever we arrive. Previous places we went for daycare I could see him on camera just sitting by the gate wanting to leave, and he was never eager to walk through the door. I think the staff here have gotten to know him and what makes him happy to be there so he feels much more comfortable. They also do cute holiday activities and dogs of the week which are adorable extra touches. Overall it’s been a great experience!

Such nice and caring individuals! They can accommodate almost anything! Very patient and compassionate for not only the fur babies but the fur parents as well! As for my Meeko he is having the time of his life for his first time. He is literally smiling. Great decision to board him here. I would high recommend this place!

My big boy Bengal, Dezi had a great time here. The facility was very nice and clean too. He got his own two room suite! The staff made him feel safe and loved and he wasn’t stressed when I picked him up. This was his first time away from home and I wasn’t sure how it would go. He will be coming back to visit again.

I have used Best Friends since 2002. All of my dogs have done great and I had a dog with some “issues” and she was handled well. There were never any problems after their visit at the “spa” as we referred to it. My two small dogs just returned from their spa visit and Max was on medication and he did great and our Gracie was happy too. Highly recommend!! 🐾🐾

We brought our Golden, Lola, here for the first time for a full grooming experience. She is terrified of loud noises--the girl who met us at check-in was extremely gentle with our dog, calming, and got her to settle down. We knew immediately that Lola was in good hands. They brought Lola out looking better than she ever has at any other grooming appointment--complete with a fresh bandana and bow. We loved our experience here!

First time with Best Friends over the Christmas holiday. She was pretty excited to go with the staff and seemed great when we picked up. We had a long delay on our return train ride and the staff was very understanding. I felt very comfortable with her accommodations and would definitely use them again next time we travel.

I had a great experience with them. When I called on Sun to get an appointment for my puppy for a grooming appointment, they were able to get me in within a few days. The process was easy from start to finish. I explained to them that it was his first time getting groomed and they took great care of Barry. Wonderful experience boarding our cat Casper at Allen’s Pet Resort. The facilities are clean and smell very clean. The staff very friendly and accommodating. They knew the pets by name and had a personal knowledge of each one. Our Casper was board for 6 days and when we called to check on him, each time they made an effort to give us an accurate update on how our fur baby was doing. We also appreciated the reasonable priced rates.

Awesome place, this was my first experience in leaving our two year old husky. My daughter was having a heart procedure in San Francisco and I had no options for caring for the dog six days. I was stressing over both the dog and my daughter. All went well. Allen's pet resort was a great choice. Accommodating and friendly staff. Very affordable and stress free environment for the dog. Additionally, they offer grooming and bathing services. They exercise your pet and give it attention. I recommend this facility to anyone and I will be using Allen's again for future follow-up appointments without worry. Thank you Allen's.

I have been taking my 8 year old Female jack Russell here for over 10 years when i have to travel, as long as your pet have their necessary vaccines your good to to go, the place is clean and very well run, my dog looks forward going there!!

Barbara always takes good care of our pup, and he loves coming here. I know that if we are in need of a place to board him, O'Brien is our first choice.

Barb and Don run a great facility and take very good care of your pets. I used O’Brien boarding when I relocated to California, and my dog/2 cats were well looked after during their long-term (4 weeks) stay. I will use them again - my border collie/lab mix was really happy there.

I’ve taken two of my Golden Retrievers to Don over the years and I cannot recommend this training facility enough! My dogs came back healthy, happy and with excellent manners, allowing them to become true family members in our household. While good natured and loving dogs, each of my pups was without impulse control and made simply walking them on a leash a serious chore. It’s beyond wonderful that in each of my training experiences with Don my dogs came back well behaved, listened to commands, didn’t yank my arms out of my sockets, stopped jumping on people and just basically became the dogs they were meant to be... loving family dogs with perfect manners! Thank you!!

They are the best! My 6 month old lab was very well taken care of. It’s nice to go on vacation knowing you baby is loved while you are away. Will definitely be going back.

We were so happy to have found the Obriens. They take good care of our Whippet and he loves getting to run around the fenced in exercise yard. The kennel is very nice and very clean. I would highly recommend the Obriens.

So disappointed, they refused to board our dog, not because they have ever even seen her. Not because she is bad in any way. Why? Because she is a Great Dane!!!! Thats right! It was assumed she would be to much to deal with because she a Great Dane. They are breedist! It took a week and an half of waiting for a call back for nothing. I am just discussed.

Genuine people who love and respect animals. Trustworthy and more affordable than all those city kennels! And they actually let the dogs out to run around on real grass!
