25 Year Dog Mom, now without my own fur children
Beth was absolutely amazing - from the moment she arrived I knew Gus would be in good hands. Beth offered to arrive a night early in order that she and Gus could get to know each other and he would be comfortable with her once we left. Gus was immediately at ease around Beth and we didn’t worry at all during our trip. Beth even made Gus’s meals extra special with a heart shaped ham garnish (his favorite!) on his food ❤️ The house was spotless when we arrived home - she had washed all of the sheets and towels and re-made the bed for us. Best of all, she left us a little piece of “artwork” that Gus made as a memento - we have it on display in our living room. Thank you Beth!!!

From the moment they stepped into our home, it was evident that they were dedicated, caring, and attentive to every detail. First and foremost, Tracey's approach to caring for our house and our beloved pets was nothing short of excellent. She has an innate ability to connect with animals, and it was clear from the daily updates and photos that our pets were happy and thoroughly pampered. The house was kept in immaculate condition, and they treated it with the utmost respect as if it was their own. Moreover, Tracey demonstrated remarkable responsibility and initiative when our AC system unexpectedly broke down. Without hesitation, she arranged for an HVAC company to come and fix the issue, taking time from her day to ensure our home was taken care of. Her willingness to front the repair costs until I could reimburse her was an act of kindness and trust that you rarely see. Tracey and her children's thoughtfulness and thoroughness provided me with peace of mind during my time away, which is priceless. I returned to a home that was just as I left it, if not better. Carolina was a fantastic Pet sitter. From the beginning, it was straightforward to communicate with her. She met us before we left our trip and ensured she understood all the house and pet logistics. Luna and Cal were very comfortable with her and were best friends with her fast. She was very affectionate with them, and Luna and Cal loved her and were very happy with her. Carolina was very responsive and sent updates. She was really lovely and easy to communicate with. She was very respectful of our space and very tidy. She even washed the sheets and towels she used even when she didn’t need to. She put a lot of care into caring for Luna and Cal, and they looked very comfortable with her. Having Carolina as a pet sitter made our trip very easy, knowing our pets were cared for so well. We would love to have her back to sit for us again and highly recommend her.

Rebecca was the best pet sitter ever! Our chocolate lab, Kona, fell in love with her instantly and loved every minute of being around her. She was extremely attentive to Kona, taking him for daily walks and she did a great job of sending us updates, video clips and photos. Absolutely Incredible.... I will not lie, I was hesitant because David did not have any pet sits before this one (gotta start somewhere) but because he did the background check I decided to contact him. We had a great phone conversation and the decision was made. He came to my house the night before I was leaving to learn all the ins and outs of taking care of my fur babies and then put himself up in a hotel for the night before the sit date. The next day he came over in the morning to learn a few more details before I left. I could not have chosen a better house sitter for my 2nd house sit . David communicated with me daily, sent pictures and we spoke via facetime. My little guy was feeling sick when David started and with diligence, love and kindness he was able to get my little guy eating again and feeling better. I would invite David back into my home over and over again but I am pretty sure he is going to be in high demand. Thank you David for everything!

Over their stay we got to see even more that they are wonderfully friendly, kind, and responsible - plus they kept us laughing with their updates and descriptions of our pets' antics while we were away. Our pets and plants were well loved and our house was spotless upon our return home, and they were even kind enough to leave a few goodies in the fridge. Highly recommend! We drove over an hour to board our dogs at Golden Wood based on the recommendation of our trainer. One of our dogs has some pretty severe anxiety, and their smaller facility with fully enclosed "stalls" made for a more relaxing environment than a typical boarding facility. The staff was extremely kind to us and was understanding and accommodating with all of Rigby's special quirks. Our anxious girl seemed to warm up to the staff quickly and we received updates every day! I've spent hours researching and worrying about the best solution for leaving our dogs when we're away, and am so grateful to GW for finally giving me some peace of mind.
My dog Bear had a wonderful time with Jackie at Goldenwood Pet Resort Georgetown!! Jackie is amazing with him! He has much fun with her! She is so good with him! Such a sweetie!! Such an awesome place to board! We never worry about Bear while we are gone!
Updated review. The owners have changed as well as some of their policies and operating procedures. Which the new Owners have every right to do. Unfortunately the changes just didn’t work for us. Sad that things changed so drastically. This is one persons review other still may enjoy taking their dog there. Original post: We have used this kennel 3 or 4 times now and it has been wonderful! Chris, Ann and Carolyn are awesome! Our dog seems excited to get there, be there and the people taking care of him love him like we love him. Considering we drive over an hour to bring him here tells you that this place is totally worth it. Our Bo is a good dog and social. They match him perfectly to the dogs that they totally enjoy each other the whole time. He comes home happy. I think he is a little out of sorts in that he likes being there so much he doesn't know what to do with himself when he is home. That to me is a sign he is happy there.
I have taken my dogs here for quite some time. My current dog just stayed this past weekend and they always do a great job taking care of him! He received some extra cuddles and grooming while he was there. My daughter and I love getting pictures of him and updates from his stay! The new owners are just as amazing as the previous owners and I look forward to continuing to bring my pets here!
My experience here at Golden Wood Pet resort was extremely positive.I was looking for a place to have my dog groomed and also a place for her to stay in the future when we go on vacation. The fact that you can do both at the same place is wonderful.Setting up a grooming appointment was easy, they provided a confirmation text and phone call 2 days before as a reminder. I met with Denise, the dog groomer she was excited to meet Ruby. We talked in detail about what services were available and what my expectations were.Denise did a Fantastic job!!! I was so pleased with how she looked.I definitely recommend this place, I have been back 3 times now and wanted to share my experience with others.
Our dog had a great experience at Golden Wood! We received daily updates about him while he was in their care. He loves being outside, so the arrangement of the suite was perfect. He could be outside as much as he wanted. I already recommended Golden Wood to a neighbor!
From the moment that I opened the door the staff member was very kind and just as excited to see my pup as my boy was to see them. He came back to us cleaner and just as happy as when he left. Check-in and out was easy. I looked forward to getting a daily picture to see how he was doing. I would not hesitate to bring him back for another vacation!
This is the second summer that our dog Pluto vacationed at Paws Here Awhile while the rest of the family was on vacation. He really seems to enjoy his time on "his vacation." Both years he made new friends and from the pictures the staff sent us, you can tell he is having a blast! Take a look at the picture below. Pluto is having a great time playing tag with a new buddy. We love our dog and worried about putting him in a kennel while we were away. But I can tell you this is definitely a resort and not a kennel. He gets his own room with a bed and T.V. and his own private little patio to do his business whenever the urge strikes. The staff are very kind and you feel very comfortable leaving your best friend in their care. I highly recommend Paws Here Awhile Pet Resort as the place for your best friends vacation while you are on vacation.

Super clean doggie daycare with friendly staff. Our dog is always super excited to meet and play with his friends there all day long. Reasonable prices, especially if you buy prepaid packages. Highly recommend .
Franco absolutely LOVES "the pooch" - anytime we say to him "Franco, want to play with your friends at the pooch?!", he instantly runs to the door and can't wait to hop in the car! We joke that he'd rather be at daycare than at home. ;) The ladies who work there are the best - they treat Franco like their own! They make it incredibly easy to schedule daycare and boarding. Also, Maddie is a fantastic groomer, so we'd recommend her highly if your pup needs to get their hair cut. Overall, amazing place all around!

I love this place. I left my dog hair all day, I don’t know if they groomed him, but I sure didn’t pay for it. Whenever he got in my car, he smelled phenomenal. He acted like he had the time of his life. These people are so sweet and they really do treat your dog with respect and they take good care of your animals. Thank you to the establishment for such great work offering the community such a great service!
This is an awesome place to let your dog have a good time and blow off some steam for the day. The daycare service is affordable and professional. I was impressed that the facility has big spaces for the dogs to play and socialize both indoors and out. I also really appreciate knowing that the staff is interacting with the dogs during the day to make sure they are all safe and having fun. I highly recommend Playful Pooch for daycare and boarding. It's one of the best services in the area and a great place to spoil your pup!
My dog had a temperament test a few days ago and was exhausted just from being there an hour. I took him in today and he couldn't wait to get in! I feel comfortable and happy leaving my dog here. The staff is so friendly and so welcoming you can tell they care about the dogs. They have great space indoor and outdoor and big and small are separated which I love. They also have 6:30 am drop off which helps me cause I work at 7:00am. And pick up is 7:00pm so if you work late that's amazing which I work over a lot so that's awesome! I don't like to lock him up all day and a lot of days I'm exhausted from work and don't feel like going to the dog park so this is great! Adorable prices as well! I'll keep bringing rebel here!
We (our family and our doggies) LOVE Playful Pooch. We had never left them at a kennel and preferred a dog sitter. But, having the interaction with other dogs is wonderful! They come home from their stays (or just daycare) totally exhausted and we love it! They offer a texting line so checking on your pooch is so easy. Oh, and they often post pics on their Instagram page 🤩 as far as pricing, they are NOT the cheapest in town but, we did once try a cheaper option and our dog came home filthy and smelling disgusting. That has never been our experience at Playful pooch!!
Our doggo loves going to daycare here. We ask if he's ready to see his friends, and his starts jumping up and down! They are easy to schedule with and drop off/pick up. Highly recommend.
Absolutely the best around...the staff, facilities and atmosphere create just a great experience for our dog Hudson. I’m pretty sure he could care less about us trying to say goodbye because he is so excited from the moment we pull into the parking lot. Both daycare and overnight boarding are excellent. Would highly recommend!!
All I have to say to my two pups is "who wants to go to Pooch" and they go crazy and even bring their leashes to me! My pups love love love! Awesome for when we need time away from home, for boarding & has socialized our pups. Even better, they come home exhausted from an awesome day of play with their friends!
