This five star review is for the groomer at Pets at Play (can’t speak to daycare or boarding, as I’ve never done either). I have a 9 year old doodle and trust me, finding a groomer who is not only willing to groom your doodle but also does it well and with a good attitude (many get annoyed) is rare. I always leave happy! He does a great job and in my experience $100 for ~the works~ is affordable. So glad to have found him!

Our little dog loves boarding here. She plays with her little dog friends and gets meals on time. Grooming here is first rate. We bring her in every six weeks. There's a new groomer and he's great

My dog loves Pets at Play! I have been taking Ollie to Pets at Play for daycare, overnight boarding and grooming for over a year now. He is a sweet but sensitive dog. Pets at Play is the only dog boarding and grooming place in RVA that he enjoys going to and being at. The groomer is always very thoughtful about grooming Ollie the way I like. She called me before she groomed Ollie just to confirm she knew what I wanted from his cut. Very blessed to have Pets at Play in our lives

When I tell you my baby loves this place!!! He is a mamma's boy, if he doesn't know you he will not go near you. BUT when we come to Pets at Play he runs right through the door to the day care and grooming! He comes home tired from day care so I know he is playing and having fun!!

Only been here a few times but I am now a loyal customer! They must be doing something right, because now every time I walk my dog he tries to pull me in the direction of Pets At Play. He is so ecstatic every time we go, I am starting to bring him there just for fun in addition to out of necessity! Do note: if your dog is over 70 lbs they won’t be able to be boarded overnight due to kennel sizes, but they do wonderfully accommodating larger dogs in daycare! My pup loves Pets At Play!

Came here for their grooming services and was not disappointed! They were polite and informative when I called with questions and were super friendly in person. And they made my pup adorable! Will definitely return for future grooming services and daycare services.

My westie,, Tucker loves this place to play. I think he has a girlfriend there. They are kind, courteous and true animal lovers. This is the only place he’ll play with other dogs as he never plays outside my home with any other dogs male or female.

I booked grooming for my dog a month ago and was very clear (in writing) about his large size (~100 pounds) - they even said it was fine in writing. I drove 40 minutes to get there and as soon as I was pulling into my neighborhood after drop off, the groomer called to say that my dog was too heavy to fit on the table/a leg of the table was breaking. He made sure to mention that it was not my dog's fault at all/he was fine. He said he has been trying to get new equipment for grooming from management but they're refusing. What type of table doesn't hold 100 pounds? I drove for 2 hours total between 7:00am and 9:00am all because they couldn't provide the groomer the correct equipment to provide grooming services to my dog. It's not his fault in my opinion, but if he knew that size would be an issue, they should have let me know well in advance, as I had booked it a month ago. My dog used to go to Pets at Play about two years ago and there were not issues then (and he was around the same weight). Very disappointed in the lack of communication and lack of resources to provide grooming services. A word of advice to management: do not advertise grooming for dogs of all sizes/approve grooming for larger dogs if you cannot actually do it.

We used to be faithful Pets at Play customers for over 3 1/2 years, having taken our 4 year old since she was a puppy, and our 6 month old for a solid year at least two days a week for each. Over that time, we’ve provided them thousands of dollars in revenue, somewhere around $8k-$9k between daycare, baths and the occasional boarding. In March of 2019, we sent our older dog in for her regular daycare appointment and requested she get a bath and her nails trimmed. When we got her home, we noticed she was licking her paw quite a bit and saw one of her nails was badly damaged, split, and beginning to ooze pus. No one at Pets at Play called or told us her nail was damaged, even though they said her nails were cut. We emailed the owner with our concerns and received a call back from an employee, who specifically told me she was calling as to not cause any confusion, but they could not get their story straight. To me, it sounds like they didn’t want a paper trail of any potential responsibility. One person said the nails were cut, then the groomer said they did not need to be cut. If the nails got cut, why did no one tell us they damaged her nail? If they did not need to get cut, that obviously means you checked them all, right? And if you saw one was damaged, why were we never told? Whatever the case, our dog went to daycare just fine, but left with a badly damaged nail which required sedation and surgery the next day to the tune of $275 in vet bills. Whether our dog’s nails were cut, Pets at Play was negligent at best, and deceptive at worst in trying to conceal or claim ignorance of her injury. Finally, to add insult to injury (literally), I went into their online system that weekend to cancel the next two daycare reservations (because our dog needed to be at home to recover from surgery), and they had deleted all of her reservations for the next year without telling us. I never said anything to them, so why would they delete our standing reservations? It doesn’t seem like a good business practice to alienate loyal customers as we have been for years. The way Pets at Play treated our dog, my wife and me is no way to treat loyal customers. We’ve always enjoyed taking our dogs to Pets at Play for daycare and boarding, but I no longer have any faith in how they treat us or our dogs. We will not be returning, nor can I recommend their services.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful PETs at PLAY is! Dixie knows when I say "want to go see your friends" exactly where she is going and doesn't even look back when we hit the door! That is how I know, PETs at PLAY is the absolute BEST. Dixie has only ever stayed the night in her entire 11 years with my parents, PETs at PLAY and me. I LOVE the emailed pictures throughout the day of her literally smiling and having fun! I am particular because she is such an important part of my life and choosing a daycare and place to board seemed impossible until we experienced PETs at PLAY. Dixie's excitement when talking about, going to and spending time here is exactly why PETs at PLAY will be the only place we go!

The staff of PawsCienda are absolutely phenomenal. Our puppies went to PawsCienda for training and after just four days, their behavior and focus was incredible. Both Stephen and Julianne, the trainers, are exceptional with training and follow-up with us. We received phone updates, a video, and in-depth instruction for us to continue their training. We can't speak highly enough about the PawsCienda and their service.

We have had the best experience working with Stephen, an incredibly talented dog trainer to train our littermate siblings, who can reasonably be described as Tasmanian devils all the time. Their littermate energy is INSANE! When I first met with Stephen, the first thing I told him was that I didn’t trust my dogs. Stephen trained me how to properly and SAFELY use e-collars on my pups bc I had never used e-collars on any other dogs I’ve rescued. Stephen’s patience with me was biblical, quite honestly. Compared to me, working with my Tasmanian devils was easy. I learned so much from Stephen, that I signed up for multiple training sessions. And on top of working with Stephen to obedience train our pups, we also have the pups enrolled in doggie day care at Pawscienda, have our pups kenneled at Pawscienda when we travel, and have our pups groomed at Pawscienda. Honestly, at every level of service we have always been impressed with all the staff, the philosophy that guides Pawscienda’s values and the wealth of expertise and experience they bring to not just our pups, but all the pups, kitties, and bunnies etc., entrusted to their care. We wholeheartedly recommend Pawscienda Pet Resort for all your pets’ needs. Pawscienda is the nicest pet resort I have been to and I am so glad we found them. It’s immaculately clean, employees are so sweet, and my puppy absolutely loves going. Steve is an amazing trainer and I highly recommend any of his programs.

My Boarder was unavailable, so I chose this establishment, after researching the reviews. My pup is an American bully, who entered healthy on 12/7, and without a real explanation obtained a split nail to the quick! My hubby and I left for Thailand on 12/9. I inadvertently left my cell home! Upon returning to the States, a message of the injury was delivered to me. The injury occurred on 12/10, and no Vet services were obtained! I asked why, how and when the injury happened. I was told that my pup was aggressive! $451.00 was the charge! No bill adjustments, no Vet and no explanation was provided. Who was responsible for my pup from 12/7-12/18? This Ranch is, imo, the lowest form of canine care in this area. Irresponsible, unprofessional young adults should never be in charge of strong, young pups, imo! Hire a Vet and medically trained experienced adults over 30, is my advice. I will NEVER take my fur baby there again. Why am I in need of paying another Vet bill, upon leaving him in their care ? BE AFRAID! PROCEED WITH CAUTION. No conscious, no customer service, and no responsibility for my pups injury was taken by this establishment, imo! 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️ run don't walk! What a low class piece of crap this place is, imo.

My only complaint is they are too busy! It does put the burden on the owner to be more mindful of planning and scheduling grooming needs in advance. They have treated both me and my 13 yo bichon with respect and I’ve been happy with the grooming and care he’s received so far. In my experience they’ve worked with me to find alternative groomers if they can’t fit me in and do call back in a timely manner if a message or inquiry is left. They do take well defined time off during the day so check website for hours and know that during those siesta hours they don’t answer the phone. They’ve consistently finished up faster than projected and I e been able to get my dog before the mid day break.

My fur babies love everyone here, Harley enjoys playing with his daycare friends, The entire staff is friendly and make you feel welcome. I highly recommend them.

Pawscienda is the absolute best! All of the staff are professional and kind. Stephen is an amazing trainer and his assistants Julianne and Charli are amazing also! I would highly recommend his classes. And a very special shout out to Payton for going over and above to make sure our fur baby was well taken care of and loved on while he was boarding there!! Payton is the absolute best and has such a way with the animals! We feel totally confident leaving our pets with them!

This was my first time using PawsCienda. They informed me about my cat during my time away & also sent pictures. I felt completely at ease leaving her there. They seem to really care. God bless!

We can’t thank Stephan enough for transforming our dog Sully into a very well mannered, disciplined and trained dog. Stephen was so patient and kind to our family as we learned to help Sully. He is a master teacher! We highly recommend Paws Cienda. The facility is top notch! Very clean and lots of room for animals to learn and play. All staff seem happy and the vibe is so wonderful. There’s not another place like this in Richmond area. Thank you Stephen for an amazing job!!! Sully misses you already!

Always so friendly and professional! An impromptu tour of the facility was very impressive! We have used the grooming, boarding, and training services. We are always 100% satisfied! My fur baby loves to go to Pawscienda and I feel totally comfortable leaving him in their care.

This place is awesome! Just got back from a 8 day vacation and my pup (Ace) is sooo happy!! I called almost everyday to check on him and they gave all kinds of details on how he was doing. Even called me when he had an episode with head tremors. Thank you so much Furr Kingdom. Also shout out to Madison, I think that’s her name. She was very nice and pleasant to speak to each time. Highly recommend!

My dog Stevie has only been a part of Furr Kingdom for a few months but she absolutely loves being there 3 times a week! She is always excited to get there and is properly worn out when she leaves daycare! (photos of the sleepy girl provided 🥺)She gets so excited when we turn off of the interstate and she realizes where we are going in the morning. I have also used their boarding services and had 0 issues. Their pricing for an indoor/outdoor facility is more than fair, and the ability to save on boarding by rolling daycare into it is amazing! Also, everyone I have interacted with here on a regular basis has been nothing but helpful and kind. Stevie will definitely miss the friends she has made when we move!!

Furr Kingdom is the best. It's such a joy and comfort to know my fur baby is treated with lots of love. They are so accommodating to my work schedule, which it makes me stress free about what to do with Zoe. Zoe really enjoys going there to play with her puppy friends and seeing her favorite staff. The staff is amazing, always welcoming me with a smile and willing to answer any questions I have. It's such a beautiful feeling to know that Zoe will be safe and treated with love when I go to work or out of town. Definitely would recommend this place.

Located just outside of Short Pump Town Center, Furr Kingdom is a spacious, wonderfully accommodating, pet resort that is in my opinion, the standard for pet boarding and pet daycare of the highest quality. The incredible facility was only matched by Furr Kingdom's friendly and knowledgeable staff and caring owners, who clearly had a passion for taking care of the dogs under their watch. During my visits, I was impressed by the cleanliness and attention paid to each individual dog's needs. The main play area was large and well-maintained providing ample space for dogs to exercise and play. The staff also ensured the dogs were walked regularly and were checked on throughout the day. They even have home cooked dog food! The attentiveness to dogs' needs truly sets Furr Kingdom apart from other pet kennels. I highly recommend this pet resort to anyone in need of a safe and comfortable place for your pets to stay like royalty.

I’ve been taking my Sheepadoodle to Furr Kingdom for almost 3 years now. I could write a great review about how much I love the staff and how remarkable I find it that they seem to always hire the most friendly people to work with them, and all of that would be true. But, this is a place where my dog goes to hang out at least a couple days a week and any time I need to board her for overnight/extended stay visits, so this review should really be about what my dog thinks. All I can say is this — my dog LOVES coming to Furr Kingdom. When we pull into the parking lot and she jumps out of the car, she runs to the door, tail wagging. When I pick her up at the end of daycare, she’ll happily come home, but if I stay too long to chat with staff, she’ll happily start trying to go back to the daycare area. The staff is knowledgeable and caring and incredibly friendly. I know my pup is always in good hands when I leave her there, because my dog lets me know she’s always happy and ready and excited to go back. We love Furr Kingdom. I always recommend them to anyone that asks.

I love this place! I've been going to Furr Kingdom for awhile now, and I can tell you that this is the place you want to take your pets. The staff is great! They walk the dogs regularly and let them play and run around. You can tell that they really enjoy working with animals. The owners are amazing! I always ask Stanley to tell me something about different dog breeds and he always surprises me with how much he knows about dogs. You can see how much Kindle cares for the little ones. She even told me that she cooks meals that the pet owners can buy for them. I cannot recommend this place enough for your pet!

We had an emergency come up and called to board my two dogs. Furr Kingdom came to the rescue! They were great! Dogs came home happy and well taken care of. Thank you so much!!

I have been taking my dog Zephyr here for 2 years now. She LOVES coming here and is always super tired after I pick her up! Which is exactly what I expect from a daycare. They seem to take the time to know and understand the dogs that come there, and I have heard them give very good and reasonable advice to owners if their dogs have particular personalities. They also care about the amount of play time and group sizes they provide for the dogs; and trust me many places don’t. If you want a happy and tired pup, you will get it here!

Thank you to the staff at Furr Kingdom for being efficient in handling the needs of my pet while I was away. Great services and options for pets and peace of mind for me as the owner knowing that my fur baby was well taken care of. This is the 2nd time utilizing the services with this provider and the staff goes above and beyond of what is required for their day to day involvement with the animals. We have been using Sweet Annie's pet sitting since our rescue puppy, Colby, was about 6 weeks old. He is now 2 years old and absolutely loves visits from his favorite, most loving, and sweetest pet walker Gisele! Claire has a truly well run, dependable, caring, trustworthy and dedicated pet service! I love Sweet Annie's!! The written updates and pictures I get from Gisele are the highlight of my day! I absolutely love Sweet Annie’s! We own a free week of walks from our apartment complex. We booked them for the month and haven’t looked back since! They are so professional and loving with my animals. My dogs are always so happy to see April or Jenelle. They treat my dogs like their own. I also love that they send pictures and updates after every walk. Their paying system is so easy and the use of the website is easy too! The walks are an amazing price. I would highly recommend Sweet Annie’s to anyone!

I have used multiple dog walking services in the Richmond area and Sweet Annie's provides exceptional care. On the app they provide multiple pictures and a quick update of their visit. Many of the photos are better then pictures I take of my dog! Every walker that has worked with my dog Lilly has been very kind and caring. It is a huge relief to know that such great care is taken care of my dog while I am at work. The walkers do extra things like bringing in packages when they see them.

I have a kitty with asthma who needs a daily inhaler, so it's very important to me that I have complete confidence in my pet sitters. Sweet Annie's has been amazing from Day 1! I love getting Gisele's photo updates of both my kitties, detailed reports, knowing that she is not just looking after my fur babies, but also watching out for my house. We booked Sweet Annie's for the first time this summer, and could not be happier about our experience! We have two dogs (one a senior) and a cat and their Almost Overnight package was perfect for them. Our sitter was Ivy, who was wonderful with providing us photos and updates at every visit. We have been a part of the Sweet Annie’s family for many years. We love the service emails when we’re out of town. It’s so nice to see pictures of our dogs while away. They are responsive to our needs and contact us regularly before, during , and after our vacations. It’s really nice for our dogs to be in the comfort our home while we’re away. The Sweet Annie’s Team cared for my yellow lab for 2 years. They took him on countless walks and showed him love on the days he battled severe allergies. As a busy teacher and mom, the team was easy to communicate with when I needed to make schedule changes. I always trusted Claire and her employees in my home and with my fur baby. Their communication was always wonderful and my dog loved seeing his dog walker each day!

I was reluctant to leave my young kittens behind when I went out of town for a week. Sweet Annie's stepped in and went far above and beyond what I expected of a pet sitting service! Jesson and Christy were our sitters, and they were wonderful! I immediately knew my babies were in the best hands while I was gone. They both treated my kittens like their own pets. I loved getting daily updates, and I especially loved getting photos of my babies! I cannot say enough good things about the staff and sitters at Sweet Annie's, and I will be happy to use them for any and every instance when I need a pet sitter!

We have been SO HAPPY with Sweet Annie’s! Our dog walker is super reliable and genuinely loves our dog. We get daily detailed reports that let us know every detail, including any inconsistencies in her behavior or “business.” We know our dog is well cared for during the work week because of this awesome small business!

My dachshund loves this place. When we get there, he charges right in. They are always interacting with the dogs. Taking many pictures with them especially holidays. On my trial day, I was able to tour the whole facility, and it was clean and no smell, and I was amazed by that. The staff does an excellent job. Here is his Halloween picture.

This is the Puppy Place! My little puppy had such a good time here. I don’t live in Virginia and I needed doggy care because I was on a work trip but my doggy had to come with me. They were excellent getting me in…she did a meet and greet and then was able to schedule immediately afterwards. Best of all I could tell my dog really like this place, she was so happy when we pulled up in the morning. The staff here is amazing and you can tell they take great care of the doggies there. They also send pictures of their day with a report card. Hands down the best place in Virginia for your doggies!

Little Dog Services was great to work with given one of my guys has some separation anxiety and we were worried about boarding him overnight. They worked with us to make both dog and humans were comfortable. He really loves his time there because when we pull in the parking lot he starts jumping to get out the door to play with friends.

My dog loves loves going, she gets so excited when we get close as she knows where she is going. Friendly staff and great prices. Holli did a great job today giving her a gorgeous haircut. ❤️❤️❤️

I absolutely love this boarding kennel for my cat Bear. They take such excellent care of him and provide updates as requested. They also were able to accommodate his 5 day stay at a last minute request. Wonderful group of people here ❤️

We have been going to Little Dog Services for over 8 years (since puppyhood). They love and treat each dog like their own. I highly recommend them and their amazing staff. Some places may be fancier, but what a pet cares about is love, safety, and fun. Little Dog Services delivers.

I've given Little Dog Services an opportunity to remedy the situation and they haven't taken it upon themselves to get back to me, so I am posting this review. I took my dog to daycare for the second time on Saturday and picked him up around 2:45 that afternoon. When I got home, I did a thorough check of him because he seemed to be covered in dried saliva and as you can see in the images below, he was either bitten or scratched repeatedly by another dog in his groin area. This is NOT okay and definitely not the result of normal play. No one mentioned anything to me when I picked him up. One of the scratches look fairly deep so I ended up taking him to the emergency vet where they disinfected him and told me to keep an e-collar on him for the next few days to prevent infection. They weren't sure what exactly the cause of it was - either bites or scratches. I talked to one employee over the phone who, not only did not even express any condolences, tried to tell me that he was the biggest in the group and she didn't see how anything could happen when they were "playing". I emailed these images and was told someone would get back to me. Haven't heard a thing in over 24 hours. Do not take your dog to Little Dog Services. This is direct evidence that they are not properly supervising or intervening in play when necessary. I even had told them that my dog has a tendency to be submissive and bring out the bully in more dominant dogs. It is obvious they are not dividing dogs into appropriate play groups as advertised. And if an issue does arise, they will not handle it in a timely manner.

I love the staff at Little Dog Services! They go the extra mile every day to make our dogs happy and safe. I cannot thank them enough for the special care they give to both of my dogs. Truly awesome!

This place is lovely. The staff make my day every time I pick my pup up with their kindness. And I can tell they truly care for my dog. Don't bother with anywhere else. I switched here for daycare from a big chain and couldn't be happier with the change.

My dog is always eager to enter the building so that is enough for me to know she loves it.

I have used the services of Kim and Bow Wow Kitty for many years and have always been thrilled with the quality of care she (and her team) have provided. Everything from walking and feeding our dogs to spending quality time with them, sending reassuring text and photos throughout our time away from home, etc. I have always been able to rely on Kim's attention to detail and know my dogs are in good hands when we are not at home. I highly recommend Bow Wow Kitty to anyone who asks.

I had a new puppy and did not feel comfortable leaving him just anywhere while I worked. Bow Wow Kitty is wonderful. Kim, the owner, loves all animals and knows how to work with them in a positive manner. I feel she not only looks after my puppy (River) but has also helped me train him. River gets so excited when I pull up to her home. She takes him on play dates with other dogs, sends me photos throughout the day, and gives me advice when I ask. I couldn't me more happy and I am so thankful I found Bow Wow Kitty!

Bow Wow Kitty has been helping take care of my furry family for years. Kim and her staff are very professional and care for my pets as if they are their own. I have a slightly neurotic and high strung female schnoodle and Kim has a magic touch to calm her. She has been helping me care for my Luna, and Kelsey before Luna, for at least the pass 6 years. The team at Barksley is absolutely phenomenal! I know I can be a bit picky about the care of my dogs, but they have been exceptional in hearing all of my concerns with my puppy and following all of our instructions. They are also beyond accommodating for our crazy work schedules to make sure he still gets the care he needs. Egon absolutely ADORES Jessica and Ciara and they always send the most adorable updates after their visits to let me know how he did, what he enjoyed, what he needs some work on, etc. And they always send the BEST photo updates. I have had some bad experiences in pet care, so I am VERY picky about who watches my dogs. I would absolutely trust anyone on the Barksley team with my babies!

We recently used Barksley for dog walking services while my husband and I were on vacation, and we couldn't be happier with the care Honey received. Kassi and Jessica were amazing! They provided such detailed recaps after every visit, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It was clear Honey was in great hands, and we loved how attentive and thoughtful they were throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Barksley to anyone in the Richmond area! This was my first time having a walker come to my home but they settled my worries right away. The care is impeccable and my walker is always so detailed about my pups visit. I loved that they did a meet and greet to really know my dog and understand her needs. She warmed up to the walker so quickly and I know she has a blast every time from the photos I get. Barksley sitters are responsible, professional, and truly love dogs.

We would truly be lost without Barksley! We have used them on a weekly basis for 2 years and it is worth every penny. Abby loves my pup like he is her own and also works on his leash and off leash skills. The Adventure Walk is perfect for pet parents that work long hours…..coming home to a happy, exhausted dog is priceless. I found Barksley online and they did not disappoint! They come to your house to meet your pet and learn their routine/needs, and are reliable to come when they say they will. They also send photos and a full report after they leave. The app makes it super easy to book their services, and they clearly love what they do. Definitely recommend.

Barksley is the best dog walking and pet sitting service in Richmond! You can undoubtedly feel that it is a business run by pet lovers, for pet lovers. I work from home most of the time, but my job requires me to go to different sites, sometimes at the last minute. Barksley has a super easy to use portal and they can accommodate last minute requests from me, at any time of day, which is a huge help. I never really have to worry if my dog will get care. I can always count on them. They know my dog well and love her like their own. She loves them too. I receive detailed messages via the portal after every visit and pictures that always bring a smile to my face. I've used other dog walking/pet sitting services in the past and they are by far the best!

I'm a relatively new client to Barksley and could not be more satisfied and happy with my experience. I've never had to utilize dog walkers outside of family members who live close by, so was a little unsure how it would go. They have made the process so easy and seamless from the beginning. They are very responsive to any questions and needs. My dog has been very comfortable with all of the walkers she has met and they provide thorough updates about each visit and photos showing how much she is enjoying their time with her! It is like they have been part of our lives all along!

My family loves Barksley! They are so professional and very attentive to my dog's specific needs. We trust them completely to make sure he enjoys his walks and is kept safe. We've also loved the overnight care option. My dog can be particular but he has always loved all members of the Barksley team. They are also very responsive to questions and keep us updated on everything that happens with our pup.

We boarded our 2 dogs for 9 days. This place was amazing with them. The place is clean, the staff was kind with great customer service. Our dogs are high maintenance with some anxiety and allergy issues. They had no problems and were completely taken care of! I would recommend this place 1000 times over!

Love this kennel and doggy daycare! The owners are the kindest caring people I know. Darius and Jamie really love what they do! Our border collie Patrick has been going there for many years. He is always well loved, exercised, cared for and all his basic needs are met. We have a difficult time getting him to go home when we pick him up. Thanks you for being such a great place to board my dog.

The owners and staff at Dobe Run are awesome! They have always taken excellent care of our dogs and were extra helpful and flexible during a recent extended stay of a sick family member's dog. The facility is very clean with plenty of room for dogs to get outdoor exercise during their stay. I highly recommend Dobe Run Kennel and appreciate the excellent customer service provided by the owners and staff!

The staff is amazing and my dogs love them. They no longer offer full grooming , but still do baths. Their daycare options are great if you don't need overnight.

We take our fur baby to Dobe Run at least 3 times a year! He gets so excited when we pull in and when we walk in they know him and his tail wags and he runs to the staff! I would recommend them to every pet owner!!!!

We couldn't have been happier with Dobe Run and their daycare services! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating for our dog Hank while were on vacation in Gloucester, VA. He must of had a great time too because on the second day he jumped out of the truck and dragged me inside... I'd say that's doggy language for "this place is great!" :) Thank you for taking such good care of him!!

Love these guys. Our high strung cocker always runs right in. They seem to spend plenty of time with the dogs and our dog never seems to mind being left, even tho he is quite happy when he gets picked up.

Generally, my dogs are anxious creatures but they always leave Dobe Run happy! I love how many "layers" of fencing they have, the facility is clean and safe, and the staff is great with my pets. I definitely recommend trusting Dobe Run with your pets!

Our dog stayed there one night and everyone and everything seemed great. Our dog goes back for a week's stay soon, we'll see how that goes. I'm hoping I will be "upgrading" my review to 5 stars after that. Very clean facility.

I was referred to Kim by my vet as my dog was terminally ill & needed special care. Kim took excellent care of my dog & I could tell my dog was happy to go & happy when I picked her back up every time. I would refer Kim to anyone who has a pet whether the situation is unique or not. Your pet will be in great care.

We have used Serenity Paws several times and have always been thankful for Kim’s service for our dog. She is able to customize her care for our dog. Unfortunately, our dog does not get along with other dogs and Kim has been able to accommodate for that. It’s also reassuring that our dog is comfortable with her. We have already recommended her to friends and plan to continue using her for our future dog sitting needs.

Our greyhound stayed with Kimberly at Serenity Paws for 13 nights. We had a previous horrific experience with another large kennel in the area and we were looking for someone that could give some personalized attention and love to our boy. We did 2 trial runs at serenity paws and all went well so we decided to trust Kimberly with his stay and we are so glad we did! He is a fragile dog with very specific needs and some anxiety but Kimberly and her staff did a great job with him. He came home the healthiest and happiest he has evern been after boarding. We also very much appreciated the photos/ videos she sent to us while we were overseas so that we wouldn't worry about his well-being. The peace of mind that is given is priceless.

I am so happy I found Serenity Paws! Kim is amazing with the animals. She has boarded and trained our puppy twice and both times I have been really impressed with his progress. The property is gorgeous and the facilities are super clean. 10 out of 10!

Kimberly, is the one person I can trust to care for my dog.. As my dog has aged requiring more nuanced daily care, finding a place to board her each year while I’m overseas for three weeks became a challenge…..until I found Kimberly! Most kennels keep the dogs together, which can be overwhelming for an older pup-especially an introverted rescue like mine. And she gives each dog individual care and attention, so Hava is never overlooked bc of the more rambunctious kennelmates Add to this the necessary assurance, when out of the country for an extended period, that any emergencies will be handled by Kimberly- an experienced veterinarian technician. Unlike most pet sitters, such as on Rover, who can not ensure my dog’s continued care in the event of an emergency with either themselves or my dog, having such a knowledgeable, professional, insured provider, who also happens to be an authentic animal whisperer to all creatures great and small, is a real gem. OUTSTANDING!!! I can count people I trust with my pups on one hand. Kim at Serenity Paws is my number one! She truly cared about my big boy and what he and our family are going through. Jack recently became a special needs pup when he came down with IVDD that has him fighting to stand and walk on his own. Serenity PAWs years of experience with dogs just like Jack coupled with a sincere desire to take care served us well. After a 4 day stay he was stronger and more independent than when i dropped him off. The facility and kennel conditions put me at ease and are second to none that I have every seen. I highly recommend them if you are in search of a safe, clean and enriching environment staffed and ran by a true professional. I will be a customer for life.

Kim was highly recommended to us by DVM / Surgeon Dr Broaddus at Hanover Veterinary Specialists, as our pup needed knee surgery and follow-on lengthy rehab. This was just after I had a hip replacement - so both our pup and I needed time and space to heal. Not only did she provide daily rehabilitation boarding care for our pup, but also transported him to / from Lock A. Taylor Veterinary Clinic in Glen Allen to provide him with Laser treatments and Hydro therapy during his recovery. Kim is the most caring person we’ve met in the animal care field. She provides an absolute haven for dogs with medical needs, and trains owners in ways to help their dogs recover. We highly recommend her!! Thank you Kim!

The owner, Kim, is all that and more. We wouldn’t think of leaving our pup with anyone else. She consistently works to assure that each pet is well cared for and safe. We feel very fortunate that there is such a wonderful place for “Frank” to vacation when we’re away.

Dexter is our 1 year old+ baby. He is a Mountain Curr Dalmatian mixed with high energy. The staff knows how to handle those particular breeds. He takes a 15 minute break every hour to calm him down, we use that same technique at home with great results.

I was so grateful for the staff (especially Rachel) that provided a personalized care for our dog and kept us up to date on everything with our dog. They were so accommodating when we ran into issues while on vacation and running late for pickup. It truly made me believe that the staff really cared about the dogs and their families and that they’re not just a business that only cares about the bottom line. We’ll definitely bring Milo back for boarding and daycare needs.

I am extremely disappointed with Dogtopia and feel compelled to share my experience. First and foremost, the way they treat their employees is appalling. The management is a complete mess—poorly organized and seemingly indifferent to both staff and dogs. The facility is overcrowded with dogs, far beyond what the space can accommodate safely. There aren't even enough crates, forcing them to improvise in ways that seem unsafe and uncomfortable for the dogs. The worst part is how they handle the dogs' basic needs. They allow the dogs to pee and poop inside the room rather than taking them outside for walks, leaving the employees to clean up the mess. This is not only unhealthy for the dogs but also unfair and unsanitary for the staff. It adds unnecessary extra work that could easily be avoided with proper care and attention. On top of all this, they are severely understaffed, which only exacerbates the problems. It’s clear that Dogtopia doesn't care about the safety or well-being of the dogs or their employees. I would strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere for dog care. This place is a disaster!

We just started coming to Dogtopia in Fredericksburg and you can tell the love right away. They are a franchise and this one is a cut above the rest. Our dog loves it and they have great structure set in place to keep the dogs safe, happy, and even have activities planned like the doggy art in which our pup did a painting by licking peanut butter off a ziplock which had a canvas with paint on it. He loves spending time with the dog coaches and his doggy friends.

We take our girl to dogtopia and she LOVES it there. She doesn't want to go home when I pick her up 🤣 I love that they have cameras for you to watch and they always doing a fun event. They have boarded my dog once, no problems. I would highly recommend this doggy daycare to anyone.

The staff are all so great and love my dog like their own. The prices are high but worth it every once in awhile

My four year mini schnauzer was well taken care of and happy while boarding at Dogtopia. He met other schnauzers and enjoyed playing with his new friends. I recommend Dogtopia in Fredericksburg, Virginia to all dog owners.

Treats employees badly as I have seen interactions with associates. The facility is often over extended and places employees in harms way as they are understaffed. I have witnessed that there is not enough space for dogs and often run out of crates. I would rather go to smaller facility where the dog is not just the almighty dollar... Addition: to response .... I didnt expect any less but snarky lack of accountability response . People are able to see with their eyes and hear interactions ... It is truly not a shocker that you brush off any unfavorable feedback! Try checking your database again ... As a business person maybe try being respectful and kind to others it goes along way to customers and associates. I provided honest feedback sorry it may have been a little too much for you :( I really dislike bullies and I think its important to highlight those experiences to improve .

My 2 year old goldendoodle comes home relaxed and tuckered out and the staff is great at providing updates and I trust that they provide him with support and attention while he is in their care.

I have been to a few different dogtopia franchises and this is by far the best location I’ve been to. We moved here from CA and my boys love it! They are so caring and attentive, which is not always the case. I love that they have so many events through the week to tire the pups out. I have 2 very high energy boys (goldendoodle and lab) and there’s never a day they come home and are still insane lol. Pickups are VERY busy, but organized. Drop off is easy and fairly seamless. The team is communicative if anything happens.

I was not impressed. There is no signage at the property at all to assist with finding the place. The outside is not well kept at all. I thought the place was abandoned when I went by it the first time because of the state it was in and the fact there is no signage. This is usually an indication of what the inside looks like. It smelled like dogs and was filthy. My dog smelled terrible when I picked her up. Her eyes were crusty from running, no doubt due to the filth. She was starving when I got her home and at least half of the food I took was still in the bag when there should’ve been only two servings left. I will not board there again.

I found Canine Concierge and Mary online. We are new to the area and were in a bind to find a place for our dog to stay while we were out of the country. Mary was helpful and flexible and most importantly, trustworthy. Our dog had never been boarded before and she absolutely set our mind at ease from the moment we met her. We will definitely use Canine Concierge’s services again!

I've been boarding my two dogs here for years. The proprietor is flexible, super easy to work with, has insights and skills that I trust. She also has been very helpful adapting to the needs of my aging dog. Highly recommended.

Mary and her staff treat the dogs as if they were their own. My 10 y o.golden loves her stays at the farm. I would not trust her to judt anyone. I feel confident she is in capable hands with Mary Marks. The room is well suited to Doggy comfort and she is allowed on the couch...something not permitted at home.

Mary does a great job with the dogs. We have used her many times and my dog jumps out ready to go with her without hesitation. Half the time he didn't even allow me to say bye, he's so be to be there.
