Love to travel and love cats!
It was great hosting Helen and Marc! They were very communicative and asked great questions. The place was super tidy when they left, and the cats seemed so well treated when I got back.

Your pet will miss me.
I would gladly let Barbara take care of my pets again. Barbara stayed with my Frank and Fievel for a weekend. She spent time with them and remembered to take photos during her stay. Communication was excellent and the apartment was in the same state or even better when I returned.

mature, responsible pet sitter extraordinaire!
This was Sara’s second sit with my sweet shy kitty, Stevie Nicks. She stayed for 2 weeks while I was visiting family. Sara is a dream cat sitter for us as she is calm, caring person, works from home, and has so much love and experience with cats. She sent little videos or photos of Stevie everyday, and any updates about how it’s going. I came home to a happy cat, clean apartment and a few little treats for me too. We look forward to our next sit with Sara!! Highly recommend.

San Francisco area & international sitting.
Betsy was wonderful and we'd love to have her back to sit any time. She was responsive from the beginning, sent us a message when she arrived at our house, sent pics and cute updates on our kitties throughout the stay, and left our house looking great when we returned. Having her sit brought peace and ease while we were away.

Audrey was a great sitter for my dog Gunner while I was away! She sent me updates, got in all fine & followed all instructions I provided her, and I came back to a clean apartment. I'd definitely recommend and would ask Audrey to watch my dog again!

Happily married, mature animal lovers ready to care for your home and pets
Jerilyn and Matthew were great caring for Lily and taking care of our home. They kept us informed of how things were going while we were away and shared pictures of Lily getting lots of attention.

Cole is quite simply: The Best! This is the 3rd time she has housesat for us. Our two cats always have a great time when she's here, and our house was cleaner upon our return than when we departed. Cole is a great communicator, texting us periodic check-in photos and updates. We will ask Cole to housesit again for us in the future without hesitation and we highly recommend her!

It was a pleasure to work with Jonathan, as always. He took wonderful care of our cat, making sure the cat ate well and was pampered. The communication and transition with Jonathan were smooth, and he made us feel at ease about our cat and home while we were away.

honeybee was a great sitter for our 3 animals. She communicated very well throughout the sit. Our flight home was delayed and she was great about being able to cover the extra days. Her connection to the animals was wonderful. We were less organized than intended on her arrival due to some unexpected work issues, and she was great about rolling with the changes (e.g. the closet doors were missing as the painter hadn't finished with them). She used public transport to get to Golden and then drove our car while here. She left a few items behind, and her attention to kitchen cleanliness could be better, but we would definitely have her sit our pets again if the opportunity arises.
Angie and Joe were fabulous pet/house sitters and overall people! Angie sent daily updates with photos. Really appreciate the extra effort they put into watering the grass and garden. The house was exactly the same as when I left (including sheets/towel washed, beds made, frig cleaned, dishes put away and trash taken out...). Pretty sure Mia was looking for them the next day as she ran to the guest bedroom. Already scheduled a second sit! If you're lucky enough to land them as pet sitter then you're lucky.
Not only did Krista take great care of our cat while we were away, she left the house cleaner than she found it. She also kept in touch with occasional photos and videos of kitty antics, which gave me peace of mind that the cat was well-cared for. We definitely recommend her as a house and pet sitter and would ask her again in the future!
Caitlyn, KJ, and their pup Sully were excellent house guests and pet sitters, and we would highly recommend them! I was able to meet Caitlyn and KJ prior to them house sitting for us, and we are always super appreciative when sitters are able to make that work and are willing to take time out of their schedule to come over and get the lay of the land. Their dog Sully was full of good boy energy and was a great playmate for our two Golden Retrievers. During the stay, Caitlyn & KJ sent us photos every day and followed all of our instructions for pet care to a T. They were super self-sufficient and gracious guests that left our place looking just like it did when we left, and we were very at peace knowing that our dogs were in great hands, getting lots of exercise, and romping around with new friend Sully. Don't hesitate to book this family of three, your house and your pets will be well-looked after!
Carolina was a fantastic Pet sitter. From the beginning, it was straightforward to communicate with her. She met us before we left our trip and ensured she understood all the house and pet logistics. Luna and Cal were very comfortable with her and were best friends with her fast. She was very affectionate with them, and Luna and Cal loved her and were very happy with her. Carolina was very responsive and sent updates. She was really lovely and easy to communicate with. She was very respectful of our space and very tidy. She even washed the sheets and towels she used even when she didn’t need to. She put a lot of care into caring for Luna and Cal, and they looked very comfortable with her. Having Carolina as a pet sitter made our trip very easy, knowing our pets were cared for so well. We would love to have her back to sit for us again and highly recommend her.
Bard and Kim are amazing house sitters and pet care givers. I would recommend them over and over. I wish I could add numbers to the scale. They would get a 10+. Bard and Kim were super easy to work with, efficient, self-sufficient, and considerate. They took immaculate care of my home; it was definitely cleaner after they left! I would recommend them without hesitation over and over.
Jeremy and Brooke were fantastic! We have a senior dog and a over hyper pittie. They gave Daisy her meds and had lengthy walks with Fin to burn off some of his energy. Brooke sent me regular texts to show me precious pictures of the pups by the Christmas tree, which warmed my ❤️. The house looked great when we returned. They are awesome detailed sitters and will make your pets feel loved and secure!!
Kuldip exceeded all the expectations we had from a Zeewoi. She took over from another sitter when we got stuck out of country due to a family emergency. A highly energetic person yet extremely organized, she easily matched the energy level of my 2-year-old Border Collie Pavo. She not only exercised him multiple times every day, but even him bought him new doggy toys and treats (much appreciated!). She got along very well with our neighbor and with their combined help Pavo got a much needed doggy bath! With her by my dogs side we were worry-free and able to focus on our family needs. Lastly, she left a pleasant surprise when we came back home. Our home looked squeaky clean and beautifully organized. Kuldip is a gem of a pet sitter and we would love to have her back for our fur baby without any hesitation. I highly recommend her!
Jennifer was great and I would highly recommend her. Right from the start, Jennifer was clear and helpful in her communication, and she was very available to us throughout the stay via messaging. She sent pics of our fur babies regularly - without asking - which always makes us happy when we're away. And the biggest compliment I can give: when we came home, our pets were relaxed and happy, and no hidden cat messes to be found (we've had this happen with previous sitters a lot). I would love to have Jennifer stay at our home again in future.
David was an outstanding house/pet sitter for our active pup Tosha, older kitty Rascal, and 4 chickens. Rascal came home with a deep, gaping wound the day before we left for 11 days, and David was very responsible in monitoring the healing process with photos and texts to us. He exercised Tosha in the neighborhood and local parks, and obviously enjoyed her company. Our house was spotless and extremely neat when we got home, which is always welcoming after a long trip. We are very grateful for the excellent care David gave to our precious pets and home.

Starr and Chris are Toby and Mina's home away from home. I am no sooner driving by Brookdale Lodge and they know where they are going and get excited!! Starr and Chris have been a lifesaver for me in last minute needs, as well as a peace of mind so I can relax on long vacations. What a better place for my pups to be where they have a yard to run around with new dog friends. All the cuddles and love at night inside the house.
Starr and her husband Chris have been an absolute god send for our coonhound, Albert. She genuinely helps even the most sensitive and wary of dogs flourish in the most organic and comfortable way. My dog LOVES visiting Starr and he is not a dog that likes to be away from his family. We have stayed with Starr a handful of times now, and for however long she has space for our loud fart machine; we will absolutely continue to go! We actually travel 40 min to take Albert to her. We have a more high energy and working / hunting oriented minded dog that can not necessarily find balance somewhere soley catering to a lap squishy. I don’t believe a lap squishy wouldn’t also LOVE Starr as well tho, I think her unique gift is how well she is able to understand all dogs. She goes out of her way to make sure she is brining all the dogs a very unique and necessary level of security they all need.
This place was so wonderful. Up until this point I had always taken my little guy Charlie to be boarded at a kennel and felt really bad for doing so. Starr and her family were wonderful. She sent me photos and updates and was incredibly understanding of the fact that he is a rescue boston terrier with a ton of energy. I read another review that stated she and her family treat dogs like family and they really do. It was such a comfort to know he had other dogs to play with, human company, and a comfy bed to curl up in at night. Many thanks to her and the wonderful service I received.
Starr and Chris are a Godsend! I have a 22lb, 15 year old, blind, deaf, special needs dog who is also currently dealing with severe separation anxiety after the passing of his original caretaker of 11 years, followed by a cross-country move. Starr and Chris babied him better than I do, which I didn't think was possible. Starr literally carried him everywhere, so much so that he didn't even need his leash during his stay. They administered his eye drops, ear drops, and antibiotic perfectly. They kept him clean, warm, and most of all, loved by the whole family. Starr even sent me photos and updates, and let me know he was eating and took his meds. I am so, so grateful I found them and will absolutely be back anytime I have to go out of town again. Starr and Chris have given me such peace of mind that my baby will be taken care of. I feel comfortable going out of town because I found them to care for my little old boy. Thank you so so so much Starr & Chris.
My 13 year old pup loves it here. She was timid at first and they knew that and gave her the attention and love she needed and now she is acclimated and happy. They are a cool, sweet family and treat the dogs like family when they are there. The yard is clean and awesome. All good over here at Brooktails!!!!! ❤️👍🐶 Oh, oh plus they send pics when I’m at work of her playing. They make me smile when I get them
We have two pups that we love very much and are very protective of as they are of us. We wouldn't take them just anywhere to board. Over time and through experience, we have built good repour and trust with Brooktails and wouldn't take them anywhere else. Thank you Starr and Chris with providing us with the opportunity to travel and have stress free date nights again. See you soon!!
Starr, in my opinion is fast becoming a dog Whisperer. She has an innate ability to connect with the dogs, what I find most genuine is her great love for dogs. Starr is caring and compassionate and what impressed me was even carried her own pet insurance which tells me she really cares and is attentive to the needs of her fur babies
Our two dogs had such a great time with Starr and her family. They have a great backyard where dogs can have plenty of time outside playing and zooming with their friends. Starr and Chris were very careful and nice with our dogs, sending plenty of photos, giving me daily updates. I would definitely recommend this family if you want your dog being well treated and part of a family. My dogs went back home happy! Thanks again!
Starr and her family took amazing care of my 10 month old doodle for a week. It was my first time leaving him and i was very nervous, but the pictures and updates quickly eased all of my concerns. My puppy had so much fun and I’m so thankful to have found a safe place for him when I have to leave town. I will definitely be using Starr again!
My dog Sherman had the best of care at Starr's. He was an older model with special needs and Starr took the very best care of him. I relish the photos and videos she took during the years he spent with her. Even now Starr sends me photos and videos as she comes across them. He was always so happy there. I highly recommend this business. Starr is truly a dog whisperer.
Robin's Nest pet care is the absolute best! We have had two of our dogs at Robin's Nest over the years. Our ridgeback Gus is super shy and has been terrified of other boarding places, but loves Robin's Nest. He scratches at the door when we arrive to get inside! We have no worries when we leave Gus for extended periods for travel, and he loves daycare there. Robin and her team are top notch and I love the kennel-free comfortable atmosphere. Robin, Kelly and their team treat our Gussy like their own. Cannot say enough good things about them!
We've been taking our dog to Robin's Nest for about five years now. It's his second home. Robin, Kelli and the rest of the staff are great. They know each dog--his or her home circumstances, care needs and spirit. They walk the dogs, provide treats, and play with them during the day. There is a vast yard area, providing room to roam. Overnight, the dogs sleep in a large room on mattresses and dog beds; no kennels or crates. Once we hit the driveway, our dog jumps from the car eager for another day. We depend on Robin and her crew and trust them completely. I can't imagine a dog getting better care anywhere.
Our dog does not tolerate being alone. Robin's Nest has become extended family. He is happy to go. We have left him for days at a time, as well as, daycare. It is a safe and healthy environment with responsible and experienced people. Don't think a better place can be found.
I have been taking my pups to Robin’s Nest since I moved to the area around 4 years ago. When my pup, with crazy separation anxiety, barrels his way into her yard because he can’t wait to see the staff and other dogs, you know that they are being treated right and they are loved. Robin and staff are amazing, caring and are like extended family.
Robyn s Nest was such a blessing for us! It s a completely unique and family-like setting for your dog. No kennels, great yard space, everyone sleeps on their doggie beds in her home right next to her. It s like a doggie slumber party! At the same time Robyn is very professional and takes the responsibility of looking after your loved one very seriously. There are usually quite a few dogs staying with her and she takes the time to meet any newcomers and makes certain they will get along with the group before she accepts them. This made us feel very safe taking our GSP to her for the first time. We knew that every dog had been screened by her first. Our dog Hunter is very active and needs lots of exercise. Robyn and her wonderful assistant Kelli, made sure that he went on bike rides, walks and even trips to the beach everyday. Hunter stayed with her for ten days over the 4th of July week and we soon discovered that he was very afraid of fireworks. We were surprised, as we hunt with him and he is around gun fire. However, the situation was very well handled. Robyn took the time to comfort him and he even scored the place of honor sleeping right in her bed! (Where he was hiding from the fireworks of course.) When it was time for us to come get him, he was very happy to see us but I think he might have liked it if we could have all moved in, so he wouldn’t have to say goodbye to his new friends! I HIGHLY recommend Robyn s Nest to anyone who needs a pet sitter! You will have complete peace of mind while you are away knowing your dog is being loved and having great play time with other dogs. This was a wonderful experience and Hunter can t wait to go back again to play! Thank you Robyn and Kelli!
Thanks so much for you kindness toward our Hero. You are so generous and thoughtful. Hero had a great time at your wonderful place, She left smiling. This was such a kind act after our huge fire, we appreciate you and your staff. Thanks to the firefighters our home was saved and we will soon be on our way back home.
Being going since my dog was a pup. Great people, safe, reliable and the type of overnight boarding I wanted for my dog. No crates or separation. Highly recommend.
They love my dog!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 recommend. We discovered Eileen when our (previous) pet sitter bailed on us at the last minute about a year ago, but in hindsight, we are so glad that happened! Eileen has pet sat for us for the last year, and she is truly the BEST. She’s reliable, consistent, observant, and SO sweet with our babies. We have 2 cats with 2 very different personalities, and she’s great with BOTH of them, giving them each what they need while we’re gone, including extra attention for our high maintenance orange boy :). I feel so blessed to have her in our lives, and I can’t overstate how nice it feels to have true *peace of mind* when we leave home. Thank you Eileen!!! 🩷🩷
Eileen makes it so easy for me to feel confident about the kind of care my pets will receive while I’m away on long trips. They don’t get just basic care but love and attention. I get updates and pics so I can see how they are. It’s hard to be away from my four legged friends but Eileen makes it much easier because I know I have nothing to worry about. 😊
Eileen is a treasure and if you're sitting around reading dog walker reviews and weighing your options you should just drop it now and hire her. She's been walking my big, VERY enthusiastic amstaff, The Doobs, for a few months now and she's completely transformed his walk. This dog LOVES to walk, and can go for hours at a time. He's a dedicated puller with the muscle to back it up. When I first brought him home, I no joke had a dog walking helmet for a while, because more than once he pulled me right over. He's also very interested in people. He's a really friendly dog, but was such a handful to walk that we were really only going out reliably once a day, and he needs so much more exercise than that. Eileen has slowly mellowed out his walk to where he's a real joy to take out now. He gets so much more exercise now that it's easier to walk him, and he's a happier, healthier dog. Eileen has also been walking my 7 month old hound mix, Donny. Donny's challenges are at the opposite end of the spectrum. He's young and, like many pandemic puppies, his socialization was spotty. He's easily spooked and it can be hard to keep his focus on a walk. Here, again, Eileen's been a total game changer for him. Watching him bond with her and seeing the confidence boost he's getting from spending time with her has been totally awesome! Finally, Eileen just met for the first time with my other hound puppy, Walter. Walter's a very nervous little guy, and Eileen took the time to make an initial appt just to sit with us and let him come out of his shell with her. She's got a really quick, savvy grasp of doggo drives and body language, and it's a real pleasure interacting with her and each dog together. It's clear Eileen puts a ton of thought and effort into her relationships with her dog charges. She often brings a new trick or tool she picked up working with another dog and suggests it for one of mine, and the way she phrases her explanations always shows how appreciative she is of each dog's individual personality and needs. Bonus: Eileen's got a real gift for pet photography, and she sends beautiful pics and the occasional video while she's out walking my pups. I love reviewing those photos at the end of the work day and checking out the awesome adventures my doggos had. The attached photos are all shots Eileen sent me. Wrangling three doggos, two of whom are puppies, while working full time is a lot. Eileen provides all the extra love, exercise, and play these pups need to keep our household running smoothly enough to keep dogpocalypses from crashing my zoom meetings. I can't recommend her highly enough!
Our first experience with Sit Walk & Wag was fantastic! Eileen stayed with our Great Dane for a week and I couldn't have been happier with her service. She always made us feel comfortable while we were away. We are very impressed with the professionalism in which she runs her business and her high standards as a caretaker for our pet. We feel very fortunate to have been recommended to Eileen and highly recommend her.
Eileen at Sit Walk & Wag has been really wonderful to work with. She was extremely reliable, professional, and loves dogs. I have a high energy pup and Eileen's walks wore her out! After each walk I always looked forward to receiving pictures from their adventures!
From the minute I spoke to Eileen, I knew she was the right person to look after our very beloved but aloof cat, Dee Dee. Not only did Dee love her (I've never seen her warm up to someone so quickly) but Eileen really put her needs first. So much so, that she suggested shorter visits to accommodate her shy behaviour. Whatsmore, Eileen is great with humans too! 😁 Super responsive, communicative, and has a great sense of humour too. Would definitely recommend! 👍🏻
Eileen was recommended to me by our regular pet-sitter, who was unable to complete the pet coverage we needed. I trust and love our pet-sitter, so I knew she was recommending someone great - and she certainly did! Eileen is professional, kind, fantastic with animals, and reliable. I was so impressed with her services and her willingness to take on a few extra visits when our plans slightly changed during our trip. My husband and I came home to three happy fur family members and I we were able to enjoy our trip knowing that they were in great hands (nothing is more important than that). We will definitely use Sit Walk & Wag in the future and I highly recommend Eileen!
Great dog walker! She has been walking our 75lb pit mix three times a week for over a month!! We get daily photos. A GPS map of distance and where they walked! I really like these added features as it provides assurance our family pet is getting the best! Thanks so much And we do recommend Sit Walk & Wag !! Eugene Scott Owens
It can be hard to find a pet sitter who is great with pets and with their humans. Eileen is that, and then some! She is a natural "cat person" and excellent cat sitter - we feel truly at ease whenever we go away, knowing our cat is being taken care of just as well (or honestly even better) as when we are home. Friendly, responsible, great communicator -- everything you'd want in a pet sitter!
Eileen is wonderful! My dog loves her and she is very reliable and trustworthy. I come home to a happy exercised dog every time I elicit her services. Highly recommend and want to encourage to support. We are lucky to have people like this in our community.
I can’t recommend Pacific Paw enough!! My pup Lulu is always soo excited to see them in the morning and comes home a tired happy pup. Some of the things I love about them - positive training techniques, all the staff is smiling and happy when they pick up the pups. Love the pictures and emails with notes of how the day went. If you want a happy pup check them out!
Michelle is a VERY good dog trainer. She came to our house for all our sessions with our 17 month old King Charles cavalier spaniel, Nikki. Michelle has a calm, consistent approach to her training. Our little one was very responsive. Most importantly, Michelle is really good at teach the humans how to follow through with the training exercises, leaves you with written instructions and follows up between training sessions. Unless the human is trained, the dog can’t be trained. Nikki was able to learn all the basic commands and address some specific behaviors we wanted addressed. Without hesitation, I would recommend Michelle for trying any dog.
We recently attended a puppy class at Pacific Paw with our 7-month-old puppy, Sunny, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience! Working with the owner, Michelle, was an absolute delight. Her expertise and passion for dog training truly shine through in every session. Both my partner and I learned a tremendous amount from Michelle. Her approach is not only effective but also incredibly engaging, making the learning process enjoyable for both us and Sunny. Since starting the class, Sunny has shown remarkable improvement. He listens to us more attentively and has mastered new tricks like laying down. Additionally, his interactions with both humans and other dogs have significantly improved, thanks to the socialization skills he picked up during the class. We are excited for more classes in the future with Pacific Paw. I would highly recommend Pacific Paw to anyone looking for a puppy training experience.
Pacific Paw welcomed us into their family 9 months ago, and I am so so happy to have met these wonderful women. They give 10,000% to the doggos daily, rain or shine. They are filled with love, patience and all speak dog fluently. I have a 90lb timid boy and they took the time to make sure he was always comfortable and loved and having a grand ol time back at day care. We call them the aunties and they truly are that to Otis. He loves them, and the whole dog crew there. Every day I get a full report on all the happenings, with occasional dress-up moments included :), and their instagram also keeps me constantly up to date if I need some dog space out time during my day. Doggie day care is so much more than just your dog getting exercise. It's about community, it's about teaching your dog independence, it's allowing them to have a stable group of friends to feel comfortable with outside of their nucleus family. Raising a dog can take a village, and I'm so grateful to have this amazing Pacific Paw community as Otey's village.
Michelle is a top tier dog trainer! She is gentle and compassionate toward the animals' experience, and is effective in her training. I truly can't say enough good things. I trust her more than anyone I know or any trainer on the internet. I know she will always go above and beyond to understand why my dog is acting the way she is and help me gain understanding and compassion for the 'bad' behavior. She truly cares. Not only is she comfortable and skilled with animals, she's good with humans too, and is a joy to communicate with and learn from. Highly highly highly recommend Michelle to anyone looking for dog and puppy training; she's the one I turn to personally and recommend to friends and family. Thank you Michelle!
Michelle, the owner, and all of the Aunties at Pacific Paw are the absolute best and I can't recommend them highly enough. They are deeply knowledgeable, professional, caring, kind, and flexible. They send a detailed report (with the best photos ever!) after every daycare session and regular newsletters, always taking care to ensure the safety and comfort of the pups. We're so grateful that we can feel confident that our pup is living her best life during her days with Pacific Paw.
Michelle and her team are wonderful! Dog lovers all, and all loved by our dog Topsy who is so excited each time they pick her up and she joins the pack for the ride to their morning walk. She then loves to stay and play with her friends for the afternoon session. They are always reliable, great communicators, send wonderful pictures each day. We are so glad we found this well-run dog care service with such wonderful people. They are the best!
Pacific Paw is amazing! Penelope loves the gang. She gets to spend a lot of time with Michelle -her favorite dog walker EVER. She's excited every time we drop her off. Highly recommend, woof!
We found Michelle shortly after welcoming a new puppy to our household and had a great experience working with her. She came to our home and listened closely to our goals and concerns and was tremendously helpful, both with setting a strong foundation of training for our new guy and working with our older dog to ease her reluctance sharing her space. Michelle is equally great at training people and helped us humans feel competent and confident navigating puppyhood and beyond.
There isn't any person I'd trust more with my dog Meeka than Michelle at Pacific Paw. She's reliable, communicates with me, and always ensures my hyper shepherd mix gets plenty of exercise and socialization. Meeka even seems better behaved when I walk her now, thanks so much M!
Shannon was terrific with my small dog. He stayed in her care for 4 nights and days. He normally is not that playful bit he played with one of her big dogs. Shannon made sure he ate and drank enough water. He had luxury sleeping areas. Shannon is very knowledgeable and caring for dogs. She has a big secure yard for the dogs and inside is all set up for the dogs as well. My dog came home happy and not stressed.
Shannon offers the best day care in Santa Cruz County for dogs! Your dog will be safe, loved, and have so much fun. My dog actually doesn't want to come home with me when I arrive for pick up. I trust Shannon at the Velvet Coat 200% with. my doggies. She is extremely knowledgable on all dog things! You will NOT be disappointed with The Velvet Coat!
Our dog Lulu loves coming here! Shannon is a gifted dog caretaker. We appreciate her professionalism and also how much she seems to enjoy her dog clients. She is super organized and we always know what to expect from Shannon. Can't recommend highly enough!
The Velvet Coat is awesome! I've been taking my labrador there for over five years for boarding and daycare, and she's always excited to go there. They carefully screen new pets, so you can be assured that your fur baby will be surrounded by social, friendly dogs.
If you’re trying to find a day-care on your busy work days or a boarding service for upcoming trips, Velvet Coat is the place to go! But be aware, when you dial the number, Shannon has some important questions prepared for you. You might even have to drive up there for an initial consultation. You’ll have to give Shannon a through overview of your canine friend — how they are physically, emotionally and behaviourally. You’ll have to provide her with the updated vaccine records as well as information regarding the animal hospital you take your dog to, or the doctor your dog has been seeing, and what medications your dog is on. It will also be useful to share with Shannon some pictures and videos of your dog, so that she has a clearer sense of who they are and how they are. But, please, please don’t be discouraged! Shannon is doing this for the sake of your beloved canine friend and the health and safety of all the other dogs under her care. We all have very concrete sense of how infectious diseases work nowadays. I’m sure you don’t want your dog to get sick or have any potential unpleasant experience while you’re away. When in doubt, please kindly put yourself in the shoes of the others whose dogs are currently staying at Velvet Coat. As a socially responsible person who truly cares about their dog (and any cute little animals in general), you won’t have trouble answering those questions and getting all the necessary documents (e.g., vaccine certification). By now, you probably would have paid a visit to Velvet Coat. I’m sure you and your canine friend are equally impressed (perhaps by slightly different aspects). You’ll then have to get your friend’s luggage ready. Shannon will give you a clean container for the food and snack needed for the length of the stay. And she will be making a detailed list for every single thing you sent with your dog. Of course, you’re more than welcome to use your own container and make your own list. A large proportion of Shannon’s fringe and freezer is devoted to those who enjoy fresh food. So don’t hesitate to pack those in. A detailed feeding instruction will also be very helpful. If your dog is familiar with the slow-feeders or treat/food puzzles, free free to take them as well. Shannon will make sure your dog feels at home. There’re no cameras like some other dog kennels that keep dogs in crates most of the time. Rather, imagine your dog stays at this resort, where dogs of different sizes and preferences can be engaged in different activities (or simply lounging) at the same time in different places. And because everybody here have passed the “rigorous interviews”, you know it’s clean, safe and friendly. Your dog gets to join the club of their choice, and is very likely going to make great friends here. Shannon will send you some picture and videos along with informative reports of what your friend was busy with during the day. If she notices any health or behavioral issues, she’ll intervene to protect your dog as much as she can. Note that she asked for your vet’s information so if you happen to be long distance away, she can get in touch with your vet if necessary. Plus, Shannon worked as a vet tech for many years! Trust me, I was just as skeptical/confused in the beginning. It turned out, I became a much better care giver to my own dog through talking to and learning from Shannon. I will not consider a different place to send our dear canine friend. I’m grateful that we found Velvet Coat!
Shannon is the best! She helped raise and care for our dogs for over a decade. Highly recommended.
Velvet Coat is truly a treat for both you and your dog - not only is the place stunningly beautiful, it’s made with dogs in mind, so there’s plenty to occupy them and never get bored. Each dog is very, very carefully vetted to make sure they’re a good fit for the place, the other dogs, and the proprietress, Shannon. Shannon knows her stuff - highly experienced with dogs and all other manner of critter; also very friendly and down-to-earth. Winston and I will miss the Velvet Coat very much since moving away!
Friendly / very experienced/ I highly recommend for the canine member of your family, 💙🦮🐕🦺🐕🐩🐈⬛ …
I was looking for day care for my 1 year old pup and was able to find Jackie through google. She was able to take him 5 days a week, full time, which was what me and my boyfriend were looking for. The meet and greet was great. She really wanted to make my pup feel comfortable. As the days went by, my pup was super excited each morning to see Jackie. She keeps us posted with our pup throughout the day and is extremely reliable! Would recommend to anyone trying to board or day care.
We meet Jackie over a year ago at puppy training. We were looking for someone to board our golden retriever puppy for a weekend. Our Lola was well taken care of and had a blast socializing with other dogs. She now goes 3 days a week for doggie daycare. She looks forward to seeing Jackie and her pups. Jackie goes above and beyond to make sure every dog gets the attention they need through out the day 💛
Jackie is amazing. She is very responsive and flexible. I started going to her after looking for a dog sitter that was closer to my home. She is much more than a dog sitter. Her dog training experience and loving nature elevates her services. Recently, I went on a trip far away and Jackie was only able to watch my dog for a portion of the time I was gone. After I was not able to find other options, she offered to take care of him and drop him off at the second boarding place. She also fed him white rice and boiled chicken when his stool was too soft. Even though she does not take dogs with soft stool she cared for mine as if he were her own. Thank you Jackie. I'm only sad that I'm moving soon and won't be able to see you much longer.
Jackie (of Precious Paws) is amazing. We adopted a sweet but stubborn half-grown pup, and Jackie has worked hard to teach our dog some manners. Our dog loves going to see Jackie every day, because she’s given tasks to do, but also treated with love. Jackie has made a world of difference!
I boarded my 10 month old GSD puppy with Jackie for 5 days and I was extremely happy with how well she cared for my dog. I received daily updates and pictures of my pup and that really helped me since it was my first time away from him. Due to snow storms my flight was cancelled and I couldnt make it back in time for the pickup. Jackie went above and beyond to help board my dog for an extra night. I will highly recommend Precious Paws for your Precious Pups.
I just wanted to share how much I love Precious Paws. My original dog sitter canceled on me at the last minute when I was ALREADY out of town and I called Jackie from Precious Paws who came through for me in a big way. Not only did she come pick him up and watched him until I came back in town, but she sent me updates that included pictures and just text messages that just left me know that he is in great hands and from the looks of things he made himself really comfortable on the couch. This is the exact kind care I was looking for. I didn't want to put him in a place where he was going to be another dog in a cage. I wanted him to have fun minus me and my son and that is exactly what I got. I am so happy with the care and will be back there for services again.
Our experience with Precious Paws was amazing. Jackie took care of our dog while we were out of town. It was a peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. We’ll definitely use her services again.
My experience with Precious Paws was amazing!! When I came to pick up my 2 year old lab she was so happy that she didn't want to leave. I'm most definitely going to use jackie (precious paws) in future reference.
Great dog sitter/walker. Never a problem leaving my dog there. 👍👍👍 …
Gr8 place
My Labrador, Lucy, absolutely loves Camp Happy Tails!! The staff instills confidence, is knowledgeable and truly cares about each dog. The natural atmosphere on a mountain side has got to be a blast for Lucy! To top it off, on site grooming with lots of extra care makes this one of my favorite places For Lucy.
Lisa and her team are the nicest, most competent and loving dog caretakers. I always trust that my pup is in good hands. I have used her services for years and will always keep coming back to camp because I appreciate the quality care.
I dog sit regularly for someone who brought their dog here when I wasn’t available. They put an E collar on her dog while he was there and didn’t tell her until she picked him up. They claim he barked constantly but I’ve never had this issue int he two years I’ve watched this dog. Even at the beginning. In my opinion, you would at least call to get permission OR call with that update. Not wait until the dog is picked up and put it into the notes section of his stay. Poor service in my opinion.
Great place to leave your dog for a governor or daycare. They deliver and pick up your dog too which makes it way convenient! If your dog needs socialization with people or other dogs, this is the perfect place to send them! Trust worthy staff and great play area in the beautiful redwoods of Felton. I highly recommend camp happy tails for your dog!
I just want to take a minute say that Camp Happy Tails has been great. Lisa has been awesome as well as Courtney. Our little guy (not so little anymore) comes home so happy and worn out. And it's great how they post pictures on Facebook! Couldn't be happier to send our pup there!
Happy Tails is great! We have boarded our dogs there a few times and they love it. No cages and lots if play time with the other dogs. Highly recommend
I really appreciate the services and commitment this business provides for my furry friend while I'm at work.
After after 3 months of getting our dog used to being there periodically, we left her there for 10 days vacation just to get a call after second day to pick her up. They couldnt handle her.
Our dog always come back happy and clean when we board him here. Friendly staff who love dogs.
What an amazing, wonderful and trustworthy place to leave my loved one.
We feel beyond grateful to have found Redwood Romps/Deanna, whom delivers exceptional care to our fur babies! Deanna shows great love and compassion towards both us and our beloved animals. Her communication with us is outstanding. She is reliable and trustworthy as well as knowable in all things dog related. And without a doubt we would recommend her to family and friends! 5+⭐️
Deanna has been absolutely amazing! She’s reliable, trustworthy, a good communicator, knowledgeable on dog behavior and leads with love. She first came by to do a meet & greet & was very thorough in gathering information on my dog & his behavior. Before walks she would notify me when she was on her way and update me on how he’s doing including sending pictures. He could be very timid and anxious and she did a great job working with him to make him feel more at ease. She provides top notch service & I know that any pet in her care is in good hands. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a walker or sitter
Deanna from Redwood Romps has been a reliable, communicative and knowledgeable care taker for our dog Ruby during family trips. We are lucky to be able to rely confidently on the care Deanna provides. It has facilitated family travel and adventures that would have been impossible without good care. Cheers!
My first experience of Deanna was when she graciously took over walking my strong bumptious Aussie pup after I had broken my ankle. I was always confident that she would keep him safe and treat him with the same loving care she gives her own dogs. She has knowledge and experience that she shares happily with me.
Deanna has been walking my pup for 2 years now. She has been amazing with her and always keeps us up to date with what is going on during the walks. I love that twice a week I get a pic of my pup while I'm working, especially when I'm travelling and away from the family.
Deanna's service has been invaluable for our pack of 2 humans and 2 dogs. She is trustworthy, engaged, responsible, a great communicator, and a friend to our dogs. Really appreciate her daily communication, including photos, during longer petsits.
Deanna of Redwood Romps! is an ideal dog walker: sensible, loving, careful, and very professional. My dogs always look forward to seeing her and come home tired and happy. Her rates are reasonable and scheduling is easy and fairly flexible. She goes the extra mile to bring joy and ease to our multi-pet home.
Deanna, with Redwood Romps is very reliable and so very caring with our animals! Our dog, Ginger loves her and Deanna sends us pictures of her on their walks. If you are looking for someone to take care of your animals, I highly recommend Deanna!
Deanna is the best! She is such a treasure to have in our lives, especially Sunny’s. Sunny is a 5 year old dog who has the energy of a puppy. Deanna takes her for interesting walks where she has the opportunity to socialize safely and get some energy out. Deanna is very organized, responsive, and thoughtful also. Highly recommend Redwood Romps for your furry family’s needs.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Redwood Romps! Redwood Romps! are very dog savvy, easy to work with and flexible. I deeply love my dog and she has some special behavioral needs. I absolutely trust Redwood Romps to care for my pup like I do. It shows that Redwood Romps absolutely loves the work they do and there is nothing like working with a passionate, intelligent organization.
