One of our cats isn’t usually friendly with strangers, but we could tell that he was instantly comfortable with her in the house. Kurt was fabulous! Sadie was so happy when we returned. We had constant updates from Kurt during our time away. Sadie for a little sick while we were away but Kurt followed our advice on diet and she was well on her way to feeling better by the time we got home! The house was spotless when we got back and even a few items fixed which was truely appreciated! All our neighbors commented on how great Kurt was - we have a close knit neighborhood so you are always bumping into the neighbors on walks and everyone knows Sadie! Was so nice to hear all the positive feedback! I sure hope Kurt can do another sit in the future.

Game for a west coast road trip
Brian watched our two pups for a week and half. He has a calm, laid back demeanour that the pups warmed up to quickly. He cared for them as we would. We appreciated his flexibility and accommodation as our plans shifted. He communicated clearly and shared regular updates with photos which is always very reassuring when away. I was so impressed with Michelle's house sitting time. When I walked into my house when we returned home, the only sign that she and Erik had been there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers. In the past, my house was clean, but not nearly as clean and picked up as when I left. I personally do not like to come home from vacation and have to clean my house, especially when I clean it before I leave. Chloe can be a little standoffish with strangers, yet she bonded with Michelle and even slept with her and Erik. Big kudos to her! Lark is a busy young lab and they did a great job of keeping her out of trouble. I can't say enough about Michelle as a house sitter and I truly feel you won't be disappointed if you choose her to sit for you.

Kelly was a wonderful pet sitter and house sitter! Our dog Cooper adored her. She sent us pictures several times a day and he was always snuggling with her. She kept in touch with us regularly. We have never left our baby before and we were anxious about it but we ended up feeling totally comfortable with Cooper in Kelly’s care. She also kept our potted plants alive during a heat wave and took great care of the house. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Once again, having AnnaMarie take care of our pups was absolutely the right choice!! Her frequent updates, care of our house and fur babies was stellar! Although the dogs were thrilled to see us when we returned, as we chatted with Annemarie, we could see them continuing to go to her for affection and cuddles. It was so sweet to watch our one-year-old lick her ear and Annamarie just giggled and happily tolerated it. What a great sport😎. We would highly recommend her to anyone and would also suggest if you happen to see a less than perfect review for her ( there is only 1)I know the true story... it's unfortunate that some people are so unappreciative of someone who will go out of their way to care for their home and Pets (at no charge🙃🙃)-- it just boggles my mind and am confident they are not being honest! Kyle was a great house sitter and pet sitter for us. We had a good dialogue prior to him sitting for us, and we also did a short walkthrough the week before. Kyle formed a great bond with our dog Charlie and also took good care of our rabbit Poppy. A couple of minor issues came up with systems in our home due to an unexpected power outage, and Kyle was quick to connect with us and then was able to work 1:1 with the service providers to resolve the issues. We look forward to working with Kyle again.

I felt totally confident in leaving Darcy and my house in Elaine’s care and I returned to a very contended dog and a perfectly clean and tidy house. Elaine arrived the day before I left so I was able to get to know her and enjoy an evening meal with her before my very early flight. We kept in contact while I was away via WhatsApp and I was happy to see photos of Darcy relaxing in her usual favourite places. It was lovely to be welcomed back home after my holiday by a very well looked after dog and it was so nice that Elaine was here to welcome me and had the lamps on, flowers in vases and a meal in the oven. My house was clean and tidy and Darcy has enjoyed a week of lovely walks and neck scratches. I highly recommend Elaine as a completely reliable pet and house sitter and she is a lovely lady to chat to. I was so pleased that I got to know her.

Jennifer was great and I would highly recommend her. Right from the start, Jennifer was clear and helpful in her communication, and she was very available to us throughout the stay via messaging. She sent pics of our fur babies regularly - without asking - which always makes us happy when we're away. And the biggest compliment I can give: when we came home, our pets were relaxed and happy, and no hidden cat messes to be found (we've had this happen with previous sitters a lot). I would love to have Jennifer stay at our home again in future.

Thomas did an amazing job! We were very pleased with how well he was able to care for our 3 active Boston terriers. He was able to handle all 3 on a walk and feed them their special meal everyday. He even ventured out and took them to the beach which is no easy task for 3 excited dogs. Thomas did a great job communicating before and during the stay. We came home to a clean house with bedding washed. We had a handful of other pet sitters through this website and Thomas easily rates at the top of our list. Milly was a lovely house sitter and I’d highly recommend her. She submitted a really great application and after a FaceTime chat it was an easy decision to choose her for our sit. She is the youngest sitter we’ve chosen but she has a maturity beyond her years and it was clear she had so much experience with animals that we felt confident leaving her in charge of our menagerie. Olive our young Pom has never been left with a sitter before so we were a little worried about how she would be but Milly was so patient, gentle and kind that she quickly won Olive over. So much so, on the morning Milly was leaving ,Olive would only let Milly put her harness on her before going for a walk. All the animals were perfectly cared for while we were away and we returned home to happy pets and a tidy house. Milly’s communication from our first contact and right through the sit was great and she even sent a lovely video of the dogs having fun on their walk. I’d have Milly back to housesit for us again anytime.

So my friends and I rarely get days off together. When we did we decided to go to Monterey. We brought our 2 dogs and unfortunately we cant bring them to Aquarium. Last minute I called Signature Paw Spa and luckily they have availability. I dropped my dogs just 15-20 mins after I called them and we all were able to go to the aquarium. They are really nice people and had kept me updated about my babies from time to time and My babies seemed to have enjoyed their time at Tonya's. I definitely recommend them
It was my first time leaving my 5 month old puppy with a pet sitter, and Signature Pet Spa/Tonya was awesome to put both me and my pup at ease. Tonya managed to work me in even though I called the day before I needed a pet sitter. She sent updates and pictures of my puppy enjoying her day, and my pup came back to me happy and well exercised when I picked her up. I definitely will be using Signature Pet Spa again!
Hands down the best dog experience!!!! I’ve used many dog services while traveling and I have to say ginger loved this place the moment she arrived. The owner came out to greet her and I when we arrived, which is a wonderful added bonus compared to some other place I have been to. The property offers a big grassy area for her to run and play, I was thrilled to see Tanya bonded perfectly from the moment ginger arrived. We called to get last minute day care for our dog, Gunner, during the US Open. The owner was so accommodating and made our pup feel right at home. If you are traveling to the area from out of town I would highly recommend this place if you are in need of doggie day care!
Signature Paw Spa is a life saver. My dog sitter canceled last minute on me and I was able to get my dog Charlie in at Signature Paw Spa. They sent me lots of pictures and videos of him playing with all his other little friends. Charlie was in their care for 3 days and he had a fabulous time! I have taken my dog Skip here on several occasions for day care. I am extremely satisfied with the results of these visits and can't say enough about how confident I am with giving them the care and responsibility for my dog during that time. Dogwood is an absolute lifesaver! Our high-energy Border Collie/German Shepherd mix has boarded at Dogwood over 10 times, and we couldn't be happier with their care. She can be a bit anxious, but it's clear she feels right at home there. The staff is incredibly loving and attentive, and we always feel completely at ease knowing she’s in such good hands. We especially appreciate the pictures they send us while we’re away – it's so nice to see her happy face!
My three family dogs have been visiting Dogwood Ranch for many years now- on a very regular basis. We utilize the transportation option and they bolt out the front door and into the transporters car every time. They love their visits to "camp Dogwood." Jessica and her amazing team have nursed my dog through a genetic illness and shared in the joys of new puppies. They have trained my dogs excellently and have provided me videos of the training sessions so I know what to work on at home. The staff is so helpful and organized. I often forget to select my grooming and they always follow up before my boys come home and ask if I want grooming. If I call or text, I get a very quick response. They keep all of the kennels and play areas very clean. All dogs have to be up to date on vaccines and thankfully, they require bordetella vaccine every 6 months. My dogs have NEVER come home with any illness or issues. I appreciate that they require a temperament visit for each new client, it makes me feel very secure that my dogs will not be with any aggressive dogs. During my dogs visits, I receive photos so often. On holidays, they take photos of the dogs with a festive background. I have utilized almost every boarding option at one point or another. The selection is big-- extra cuddles, sleeping inside, extra play time, treats, etc. The grooming options are always expanding and my dogs come home clean and smelling so nice each time-- with clean teeth! My dogs come home tired and very happy every time. They spend a couple of days being very lazy after their time at "camp." There is no other boarding facility I would utilize for our family dogs. Ever. I trust Jessica and her team more than anything. I know that they are professional, kind, and absolutely treat my dogs like family.

The facility is very clean and well maintained. I took Gracie for a "temperament check" which is required before you can board your dog. I like that they check out the dogs and place your dog in the group your dog would feel most comfortable in. I look forward to boarding Gracie, it gives me peace of mind that she will be well taken care of.
My boy loves going to Dogwood! There are multiple yards to match dogs of similar age with similar play styles. I love how it is all outdoors, and my boy enjoys it way more than indoor play yards. The staff there is always so nice and let's me know how his day went. They even send pictures and videos during the day! During the holidays, they also dress some of the dogs up to take pictures, it's so cute! Dogwood is definitely the best doggy day care we've been to!
We love the staff and facilities at Dogwood Ranch Pet Resort! Yara has been going to doggie daycare weekly and occasional boarding. She whines and howls when we arrive and can’t wait to get in there and see her buddies. She had a great bath yesterday and looks and smells so much better! The staff is very attentive and the large outdoor areas give the dogs plenty of space to play. Our neighbor recommended the ranch, and we are happy to have found a good and caring doggie daycare and boarding place!

Mecca has always loved animals. But she doesn't just do pet sitting! If you are going on a short or extended trip, she will spend time with your pets while you're away. She also does dog walking, as well.

My Cavapoo Ollie had his very first hair cut/spa day with Michelle and we were thrilled! Michelle is so gentle, caring and knowledgeable and my pup loves her. I would never take him anywhere else. And she not only does an amazing job, she is efficient and Ollie never has to go in a crate and wait to be groomed for hours. She picks him up and drops him off and he is always so excited to see her so I know he is good hands. I can’t say how much Melissa at Pets by the Sea meant to our family to help watch our dog Deiter. He was a very sweet boy but couldn’t be around other dogs - she made sure to take extra care of him and he acted like we were never gone when we got back from our trip. We know he must have been happy and we couldn’t have been happier. She sent us texts and pictures to show how good he was! We highly recommend Melissa and when we get another dog one day, we will ask her for her services again. Top notch!!

We were so thankful to find Melissa and Jaden and have used them several times on our trips to Carmel. They are professional, reliable, so friendly ... and they give our boys a GREAT workout! Bandit and Raider are big fans, and so are we!
Melissa was awesome!!! I was coming from out of town and needed a pet sitter while I was at a wedding. When I reached out to her she was very quick to respond and very flexible to my needs. She made me feel super comfortable leaving my fur baby with her. I loved that she sent me updates every few hours. I cannot recommend Melissa enough!!! The experience was flawless!!!

Found this dog-sitter on google. I was coming into town the day after Christmas and we needed someone to watch our two dogs during dinner so we could dine at a restaurant that didn't accept dogs. Called her and she called back quickly, not long after. We finalized the booking via text. The day before I confirmed via text. We showed up and there was dog stuff all over her car and house so we knew this was a dog person. Janice was so sweet in person and was so sweet with our dogs. She sent us updates and pictures of dogs looking relaxed. Pickup was easy and I told her I’d write this review. Thanks Janice!

13 year old Tony usually stays with my mom when we go on vacation. This year we were on vacation at the same time. Janice the owner of Pet Nanny Paso was the perfect solution. She LOVES dogs!!! Her house is a dream doggie daycare. It is dog friendly and organized. Her expertise and passion for dogs made us feel that Tony was in the perfect place. He had a great visit with no adjustment issues. The dogs at Pet Nanny Paso were all friendly and playful. Janice sent us texts and pictures each day to show us how Tony's vacation was going. She knows her doggies personalities and how to manage doggies that may not get along, but she has can handle care of all dog personalities. She is meticulous. You should trust her with your baby. We dropped off our Mini Schnauzer while we were at Hearst Castle and Sensorio. Janice is so nice and attentive. She was patient showing us around her large yard set up for dogs, texted photos while we were out, and also let us know that our harness was a size too small which we hadn't noticed. We'll definitely go with the Pet Nanny again next time we are in Paso Robles!
Janice is an exceptional caretaker for dogs. She's very professional and kind hearted. She took take care of my dog on short notice when I was visiting Paso Robles. I l would definitely recommend her if you need someone to take care of or watch your dog.

Dropped my pup off for half a day so my family could go to the Aquarium. It was 2 blocks from the Aquarium and reasonable to keep her there for the day. It was raining out, so they washed her paws when I came to pick her up to get the mud off. She seemed in great spirits when she came out! Would recommend for travelers needing to board the dog!

My husband, checked our dog who Is a cockapoo into “Casa de Amigos Animal Hotel” on October 20th , 2024, in Monterey California. At or around 4:30PM that evening, my husband and myself arrived at the facility to retrieve our dog at which point the hotel staff informed us that our dog had went missing from the facility. The staff had failed to properly secure their facility and supervise our dog as per the agreement. The police was contacted on behalf of my family and matters were taken into our own hands as the facility informed us that they did not have protocol for this type of incident. I was able to track my dog based off information received from a good Samaritan who located my missing dog and had submitted information to the police department. The staff and entire facility failed to show any sort of sympathy towards this situation and didn't seem to care that our dog was missing. We have not yet received a call from the manager or owner of the business regarding this matter. I am extremely unsatisfied with the service we were provided with. The lack of professionalism that was demonstrated in this facility needs to change immediately.
The staff at Casa de Amigos is always courteous and profession. They always remember my dog and are enthusiastic to see her when we walk in. My dog gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot! I love that they send pictures daily when we board her overnight.They have reasonable pricing and are kind enough to offer a military discount.

My little guy absolutely LOVED going to Casa de Amigos! The staff here are wonderful, and treat your dog like family. They always text me photos, which I appreciate. Your pup is in good hands here. I cannot recommend them enough! Also, their grooming services are AMAZING!
Used the daycare while visiting the aquarium. I had emailed earlier in the week with someone there. But they did not have our reservation when we arrived but everything went fine checking our little guy in they still accepted him. Picked him up 7 hours later and he is pooped and happy. Smooth process and the folks there were very nice. Next time we are in Monterey I would come back and recommend.

They are so great and take good care of your pets. We have a 9 month old we've been bringing for daycare for socialization and they've been really great with her and have really made gains with her. Would recommend. We trust them with her when we have to board over night as well.

I booked a last minute trip to Pebble Beach to see my parents who were in town & didn’t know what to do with my 9 week old mini dachshund! I couldn’t leave her alone for too long just yet, so a quick google search led me to Freya’s business and her hotel sitting offerings. Freya was nothing short of perfect for Olive’s first experience with a dog sitter. Freya came to the hotel I was staying at, was super flexible on timing as we were at dinner, and tired out my girl so much she slept straight through the night for the first time since getting her. She sent photo updates & even shared tips of what she noticed Olive potentially liked or disliked in toys and activities. It was worth its weight in gold to have the peace of mind of Freya with Olive & I’ll definitely give her a call again when I’m back in the area!

We (and our dog!) had a genuinely VIP+ and completely worry-free experience with Freya and Happy Dog Carmel while visiting Monterrey for the 2023 holiday season. After traveling to the area so many times over the years, my wife and I always returned home a little disappointed that we could never visit the Monterrey aquarium since we always brought our dog with us, knowing how pet-friendly the entire region is. This time around, we had the idea to search for a local service that could board or take our Pomeranian for a day so we could finally visit the aquarium. After literally spending 4+ hours on Google searching for options in Carmel and Monterrey and checking reviews of the top ones, I was still skeptical and concerned since every single one had some recent bad reviews here and there. One that presents itself as a "luxury" option in the area didn't respond to my contact promptly, and when it did, the address provided didn't match its website; it was a house in a random area in Carmel. When I checked Happy Dog Carmel — the only option I found with consistently positive reviews — I wasn't sure if they would take our dog since their website doesn't mention such service; only dog walking, sitting-at-the-hotel, or in-home visits. However, I was happily surprised when I contacted Freya, who promptly confirmed she could take our dog for the day. And what a great day! As part of Freya's services, she picked up and dropped off our dog at our hotel. We had the guarantee our dog would have full attention since she takes one dog at a time, avoiding him being in touch with unknown/unruly/unvaccinated dogs. She also sent several pictures of him throughout the day, which I attached to this review (she is also a great photographer, as you can see!), and took him on a nice trail walk to put his high energy to good use. Our dog spent a whole day with Freya, and my wife and I finally could visit the aquarium completely worry-free, knowing our dog was in good hands with her constant updates. Her punctuality, the fact that she truly and genuinely loves pets, and how she maintained fantastic and responsive communication throughout the process are also worth mentioning. When we return to the Carmel and Monterrey areas, we now finally have someone we can trust and count on again.
We had a great experience with Freya of Happy Dog Carmel!! It was our wedding weekend and she not only took care of our yellow lab during the party and the rehearsal but she also helped us out with the ceremony so Nala could deliver the rings!!! Thanks Freya!!!
We spent a month in Carmel and used Freya numerous times each week. Zipper loved his walks, play time and just hanging out with Freya. Happy Dog Carmel is a professional service, we valued the personal attention our dog received and we felt safe leaving our little man with Freya. She was always on time, sent pictures and kept us up to date on their activities. I would recommend Happy Dog Carmel service to friends and plan on using Freya again.
My husband and I came to Carmel for a little honeymoon trip. We brought our 4 year old Labradoodle Roscoe, but also planned some outings with just the two of us. Freya and Happy Dog Carmel were referred by our hotel and we couldn’t have been happier with her service! She was always prompt, provided transportation to and from the hotel, and even sent photos and an update of Roscoe’s playtime. We look forward to hiring her again when we return to Carmel.
Freya was wonderful with Quincy!! She gave him lots of love and took him on nice long walks. And she kept in touch by text and sent photos. She was very professional and pleasant and we will happily use her services again!
Freya is an absolute gem. Not only a great human, but a total dog whisperer. Our senior dog Presley is 18 and it's hard to leave him, but I never have hesitation if I am leaving him with Freya. Your beloved pet will be in good hands!
My wife and I visited Carmel for a long weekend with our dog Simba. We wanted to have a spa day and also a night out for dinner at a nice restaurant. We were lucky enough to have Freya referenced to us and it was an amazing service! She picked him up both days at the hotel and drop him off as well, he was very excited the second time she came which doesn’t happen a lot with Simba, so we knew he had a good time. Would highly recommend and would use her service again if we visit Carmel.

Robin's Nest pet care is the absolute best! We have had two of our dogs at Robin's Nest over the years. Our ridgeback Gus is super shy and has been terrified of other boarding places, but loves Robin's Nest. He scratches at the door when we arrive to get inside! We have no worries when we leave Gus for extended periods for travel, and he loves daycare there. Robin and her team are top notch and I love the kennel-free comfortable atmosphere. Robin, Kelly and their team treat our Gussy like their own. Cannot say enough good things about them!
We've been taking our dog to Robin's Nest for about five years now. It's his second home. Robin, Kelli and the rest of the staff are great. They know each dog--his or her home circumstances, care needs and spirit. They walk the dogs, provide treats, and play with them during the day. There is a vast yard area, providing room to roam. Overnight, the dogs sleep in a large room on mattresses and dog beds; no kennels or crates. Once we hit the driveway, our dog jumps from the car eager for another day. We depend on Robin and her crew and trust them completely. I can't imagine a dog getting better care anywhere.
Our dog does not tolerate being alone. Robin's Nest has become extended family. He is happy to go. We have left him for days at a time, as well as, daycare. It is a safe and healthy environment with responsible and experienced people. Don't think a better place can be found.
I have been taking my pups to Robin’s Nest since I moved to the area around 4 years ago. When my pup, with crazy separation anxiety, barrels his way into her yard because he can’t wait to see the staff and other dogs, you know that they are being treated right and they are loved. Robin and staff are amazing, caring and are like extended family.
Robyn s Nest was such a blessing for us! It s a completely unique and family-like setting for your dog. No kennels, great yard space, everyone sleeps on their doggie beds in her home right next to her. It s like a doggie slumber party! At the same time Robyn is very professional and takes the responsibility of looking after your loved one very seriously. There are usually quite a few dogs staying with her and she takes the time to meet any newcomers and makes certain they will get along with the group before she accepts them. This made us feel very safe taking our GSP to her for the first time. We knew that every dog had been screened by her first. Our dog Hunter is very active and needs lots of exercise. Robyn and her wonderful assistant Kelli, made sure that he went on bike rides, walks and even trips to the beach everyday. Hunter stayed with her for ten days over the 4th of July week and we soon discovered that he was very afraid of fireworks. We were surprised, as we hunt with him and he is around gun fire. However, the situation was very well handled. Robyn took the time to comfort him and he even scored the place of honor sleeping right in her bed! (Where he was hiding from the fireworks of course.) When it was time for us to come get him, he was very happy to see us but I think he might have liked it if we could have all moved in, so he wouldn’t have to say goodbye to his new friends! I HIGHLY recommend Robyn s Nest to anyone who needs a pet sitter! You will have complete peace of mind while you are away knowing your dog is being loved and having great play time with other dogs. This was a wonderful experience and Hunter can t wait to go back again to play! Thank you Robyn and Kelli!
