Jerry and Michelle are so great! From viewing their profile and reviews, I knew our dogs would be in great hands while we were out of town. Communication was smooth and reliable throughout the whole process, from the initial zoom to when we made it back to our respective homes. During the house tour on the first day of the visit, we were very comfortable and got along great. We received photos of the pups each day, usually with funny captions and usually with the dogs under their blankets. The house was super tidy when we got back, and we appreciated the fresh sheets after our 9-hour drive home. We would not hesitate to have Jerry and Michelle come back again - hopefully with nicer weather next time!

While it's nice to have someone at the house while the owners are away, the most important thing for pet owners is someone to care for their pets. If I could give Elvira 10 stars for loving my dog and giving her special attention, I would! Elvira also texted me with daily photos and comments about the "walkies" my dog enjoyed. Plus, Elvira took on the additional task of conveying my dog to the groomer, and afterwards dosing her with flea/tick medication and a heartworm pill. Elvira and my dog look forward to seeing each other again, probably next spring when Elvira thinks she'll be back in the area.

Sam and Miguel are outstanding house and pet sitters! They took great care of my dog, including doing a consult with my vet when she seemed a little sick. I came home to a house and yard that were in better shape than when I left it! I would highly recommend Sam and Miguel. I was very happy with Sabrina and Niles as our cat sitters! They arrived a day early to make sure there's enough time for us to show them everything, and they made sure to note down everything for later. Also, a huge thank you because our regular cat food and litter delivery was due during their sit and while it usually arrives in one go, this time it came split into four or five individual deliveries with one ending up at our neighbours. Sabrina and Niles made sure that everything was there and also went to the neighbour to pick up the last piece, and in the end build a nice cardboard box space that the cats absolutely loved (one of the boxes is still alive and is being used every day). We received daily updates and pictures too which I'm always super grateful for as it's the highlight of my day when I'm away. I can absolutely recommend Sabrina and Niles and would not hesitate to invite them back. :-)

We had the delight of hosting Amy and her Mom. They were very clean and responsible. They followed all of our instructions aside from sending daily updates. Due to our pets being older, we tend to worry a bit and found ourselves messaging to check on them rather than receiving updates. If you would like updates often, make sure to communicate that early on. I would recommend Amy for any sits you have available.

Kelly was a wonderful pet sitter and house sitter! Our dog Cooper adored her. She sent us pictures several times a day and he was always snuggling with her. She kept in touch with us regularly. We have never left our baby before and we were anxious about it but we ended up feeling totally comfortable with Cooper in Kelly’s care. She also kept our potted plants alive during a heat wave and took great care of the house. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Judith was one of the most considerate, trustworthy sitters we've ever had. We had to leave in a rush for a family emergency and really didn't have time to prepare the house as we usually do, but Judith took all in stride, leaving the apartment spotless. She sent photos of Baby Boo and Janet on arrival, putting us immediately at ease because it was so obvious the cats were completely comfortable, zero stress, allowing us to relax that they were in such good hands. Jerry and Suzanne were absolutely ideal sitters for our home and pets. We spoke with them ahead of their visit and could tell that they are genuine pet and travel lovers. Over their stay we got to see even more that they are wonderfully friendly, kind, and responsible - plus they kept us laughing with their updates and descriptions of our pets' antics while we were away. Our pets and plants were well loved and our house was spotless upon our return home, and they were even kind enough to leave a few goodies in the fridge. Our dog Biscuit seems very at home when she stays at Dawn's Dog Boarding. We can see this through the photos shared and observing her being completely relaxed when she returns home. The setting is clean, provides plenty of exercise and good TLC. Dawn and her staff keep our dog safe by introducing her to the pack in small groups when she arrives and matching her with similar energy levels for her stay. We have many choices for dog boarding in our area and from experience we know that choosing Dawn's Dog Boarding is the best choice for our dog.
Our 5 year old dog has been staying with Dawn since he was a puppy - it is his home away from home! Dawn looks after all the pups as if they were her own, and they gets lots of love and attention, all while enjoying time and space in the beautiful Hudson Valley. I could not recommend Dawn more highly!

I did not know about Dawn until a few days ago. I ran in to a big problem as I was staying with family as I had an emergency and my family loved my dog but the landlord says that dogs are not aloud do to insurance so my family was told my dog had to go or they had to go. My family helped me by asking everyone they knew if they could take my dog then I was looking for a dog boarding near me and I found Dawn. I called her and left a message and she called me back in a quick amount of time. I explained to her what was going on and because she was on her way out the door for the day to meet up with friends she could not take my dog that night. Dawn did let me bring my dog the next morning. I was late getting to her and she understood. My sweet Hazel got to be around other dogs and got a lot of exercise. I would recommend her to all. Dawn gave me some information that I did not know and she gave me very good information. I will be using her again when I need a spot for my sweet Hazel to go when she can not be with us her loving family. Thank You for all you do for my sweet Hazel and all the other dogs as well. I would give you more stars as I feel that 5 stars are not enough as you are way more then 5 stars.

Dogwood lodge took our dog, Doobie, with short notice due to sudden death in family. This was appreciated by us. Our dog is reactive and Dogwood Lodge knew and accepted him. We were very nervous with our furry child because we always boarded in someone’s home or family. He enjoyed his 30 minute romp in yard. He was very happy to see us and liked Alison. This is surprising since he normally only likes us. Happy and resting on “His” bed he lets us share.
Dogwood Pet Lodge is the only place I leave my senior dog. Allison and Joe truly treat him like one of their own. On our last stay, Allison was able to trim the matted fur around his mouth that even the groomer is unable to touch. She truly is the “dog whisperer” and has a magic touch! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We boarded our nearly 12 year old little Jack Russell there for 5 days. She was pampered by Allison in the VIP room while we enjoyed a trip into the city. I highly recommend paying for the upgrade to get photos sent to you. We loved watching Olivia play in the yard and see that she was comfortable and resting well. Allison truly cares about all of the animals there. She is kind and professional. Overall an excellent experience and hopefully we'll be back next year!
Great experience! From the very first communication with Allison I had a sense of her attention to detail, safety and the general well being of all of the pets in her care. She offered a full tour of the facility, asked questions to discover any special needs or concerns for my dog, and provided documentation for her policies and procedures. I was required to sign off acknowledgement, which I was happy to do. She was very clear that she had policies that were rigid, but in place for the right reasons-my pet’s successful stay. I have a rescue who did not have a good early life, and because of her abuse, she is fearful of people and situations and her reaction is not always predictable. The facility, which is double fenced, and the fact that there was regular processes for supervision, feeding and even cuddle time, put me at ease. During my dog’s stay, I got an update and even some nice pics of her at play and cuddling (see below-she didn’t miss me much!). When I picked my dog up after a week long visit, it was obvious that she was comfortable and happy at Dogwood and had made a new friend in Allison. Once home, we didn’t have any re entry issues. My dog was healthy, happy and slipped right back into our normal routine.
This lodge is cozy and casual. The owners are so kind and very good with animals. They took care of my 2 kitties for 4 days, and I brought my babies home safe, happy, clean and calm. I will definitely go here any time I need to trust someone to care for my sweet fur friends! ❤ thank you for taking such good care of them.
Took a vacation for the first time in 8 years and one of the major concerns was a great place to leave my dog. It was over the Christmas Holiday and The Dogwood Pet Lodge was the place to go and so glad I did! Paid for the one on one walks and playtime which was so worth it. Then I opted for the daily pictures and being away, it made the whole difference in my vacation. Then prior to picking her up I was told she was just finishing her bath! No need to go anywhere else!!
I felt absolutely comfortable and happy leaving my dogs here for daycare a few times a week during long work days. The owners really love animals and I could tell that my pups were well cared for! They accommodated me last minute and were incredibly helpful. If I wasn’t moving out of state I would take my pups there every week! Thank you!!
The personal attention our pets receive at Dogwood for overnight stays can't be beat. They are great a taking photos of our pups and sending us daily emails and FB posts. Our pups love going there. Plus, the groomer is great too.

Compassionate, thoughtful care for your pooch. The only place my dog doesn't act like she has been in jail when i pick her up. Dogs are kept in runs, not wee crates/cages and can see other pups.
