(We were just so sorry the weather was unseasonably cold and we did not prepare for the wintery heating schedule - lesson learnt on our part!)

Crystal and Chad looked after our 2 dogs and cat while we were overseas for nearly three weeks. They had come from the US to housesit in NZ and were super thorough in making sure they had all the information they needed... Actually they are way more experienced in housitting than we are! Communication while we away was excellent and from the updates we got it seemed the pets had a better holiday than we did! Best of all was coming back from close to 24hrs of travelling and the house was super tidy. Would recommend them as guests for sure!

Adrienne is such a warm, fun, outgoing lady. She took wonderful care of Harley & Rusty, walking them at least twice a day. She definitely bonded with them. She sent pictures & kept us updated while we were gone. Adrienne seemed to enjoy her time here (taking lots of pictures). She met many of our neighbors & their dogs. It was nice she came a full day ahead of time so that we could show her around The Villages, especially getting around in our golf cart to restaurants, grocery stores, an entertainment area & swimming pool. After driving Adrienne around in the golf cart the day she arrived, my husband had her drive the golf cart the next morning before we left so she could get familiar with driving it. She did struggle with finding her way around in the golf cart after we left, even though we left maps of The Villages & told her about The Villages app with GPS. Because she was uncomfortable getting around in the golf cart, she asked a neighbor to help her & he took her to get groceries. We feel bad that she wasn't able to find her way around while she was here. We've labelled the light/fan switches in the house. Some of the switches (indicated with a red dot) control lights that are on a timers and we informed Adrienne about the meaning of the red dot. She must have accidentally manually turned off the living room light that was on a timer and didn't realize it, so it was dark in the living room. We typically leave out extra light bulbs in case one goes out. Well, we forgot this time to leave them out & of course, a bulb in the guest bedroom went out while we were gone. But Adrienne was self sufficient & used the lantern I left. Upon our return, she indicated she didn't contact us to find out where extra bulbs were because the lantern worked fine; so glad she found a solution! The only downside of this sit was the cleanliness of our home upon our return. Our dogs primarily stay in the enclosed lanai & they go outside through the lanai door. When they come in from outside, dried grass comes in on their paws (especially when it's damp outside) so we're totally understanding about grass in the lanai. However, there was a lot of dried grass in the house, especially the kitchen. When I mentioned it to Adrienne, she said it must have come in on her shoes because the dogs had not been in the house. Also, something had run over in the microwave & hadn't been cleaned up so I had to clean the microwave before I could use it the night of our return. Dishes were left in the dishwasher. Adrienne did wash the guest bedroom sheets before we came home, but she stayed the night of our return & slept in the bed again (she said she only sleeps on the very edge of the bed so the other side was clean for the next people using the guest bedroom). We really liked Adrienne & she was excellent with our dogs, which is the most important thing! We would ask her to sit for us again with our expectations of home cleanliness.

We feel like we’ve won the pet and house sitter lotto with Scott. Most importantly, he’s taken great care of our much loved little dog, giving him a lot of care, affection and attention. He paid close attention when Tingsha began scratching (allergy to an insect bite) which needed vet care, with great communication with us. He even took Tingsha to his agility school class each week (great fun had by all) and to get a groom. We’ve come home to a contented and very happy dog. The house is spotless, cleaner than we left it, with fresh flowers and the bed all made up. Perfect! We had regular contact with Scott all through our five week trip and being “fellow travellers” (in all senses) enjoyed sharing lots of local travel tips and experiences as we each visited new parts of the world. We were happy to lend Scott our car and he’s been great with it, super responsible. Scott is a really terrific guy and a fabulous journalist and story teller (you must listen to his podcast about his travels, it’s a cracker). In sharing our home and trusting our beloved dog with him, we feel like we’ve made a new friend along the way. We recommend Scott without any hesitation and thank him for a wonderful experience, we’d love him to come back and see us, anytime. Thanks a bunch!

This was our first time using a pet or house sitter and the bar set by Leslie is very high! She is warm, friendly, communicative, responsible and very clean. Upon arriving, she immediately bonded with our rat terrier, Oreo, by bringing him a new frisbee (his favorite toy/activity) and throwing it for him in our backyard. Leslie has a sweet and mellow dog, Benny, who is now Oreo's new buddy! She kept my husband and I updated via texts/pictures of their daily activities, our house, and was proactive in asking questions before she left. She even dropped our dog off at the kennel for one night at the end of our trip since our flight was too late for us to get home for him! Our home was clean and had fresh flowers from our garden that she put in vases for us! Such a simple and nice touch! We have asked Leslie to come back to sit for us again for 2 weeks in August. I'd highly recommend her to take care of your pet(s) and home too!

Abby was truly the best pet sitter we've ever had. We were never concerned or worried about the care of our pups and home. All the neighbors have told me that the dogs looked happy on the many walks. She sent videos of photos about every other day. We hope that Abby will stay in our home next summer as well. Abby is very highly recommended by our whole family, including the dogs!!!

Kyle was a great house sitter and pet sitter for us. We had a good dialogue prior to him sitting for us, and we also did a short walkthrough the week before. Kyle formed a great bond with our dog Charlie and also took good care of our rabbit Poppy. A couple of minor issues came up with systems in our home due to an unexpected power outage, and Kyle was quick to connect with us and then was able to work 1:1 with the service providers to resolve the issues. Janis is a wonderful person and also an incredible sitter -- we were very, very fortunate that she agreed to care for our beloved pets and rural log home for 3 days. We were confident that everything would be perfect – and it was. We returned to a home as clean and ordered as we had left it, inside and out. All plants were thriving; outdoor hanging baskets were blooming profusely. Most importantly, our beloved dog and 4 cherished cats had obviously been lovingly and attentively cared for. The koi were also active and happy. Janis is a “cat whisperer”. She is especially skilled and patient with shy felines, so we truly appreciated her patience and caring for our sweet Angie (with a semi-feral background). Janis immediately understood that Angie, despite her reclusiveness, craves affection and was able to start to earn her trust even with such limited time. Among Janis’ many gifts: she is a talented photographer and delighted us with frequent updates and photos of our furry children. They are so beautiful that we, with her kind permission, plan to include several in our zeewoi profile. Janis’ communications, reliability, self-sufficiency, and punctuality were exemplary, start to finish. We made a wonderful new friend and have already invited her back to sit again. Gowri was very patient and caring with Irisi who got sick the day before I left. I cannot commend her enough for how she rose to the occasion and took care of my baby. She even pick up meds from the vet. My cat, Squinty, was very comfortable with her to jump in bed and wake her up early in the morning (as he would with me). I am not aware of him doing that to other sitters that have stayed at my place. I would give her 6 stars for Pet care if I can! She updated me with Irisi's condition which really help ease my mind, knowing someone looking after my furry really cared. I would certainly have her back again!
