My dog, Kiara absolutely loves this place. And the best part is she plays all day so when she gets home she is exhausted and knocks out so it's perfect. She has her bestie, skye, whom she loves. I am very particular when it comes to my baby and I would not trust another day care facility other than bay rivers. And can I just say, as careful and considerate that these staff memeber can be we all need to remember these are animals with whom they wrestle and play with each other. A few scratches and markings are literally no big deal that is how animals play. If you don't like it, keep your dog separate from other animals. All the employees are amazing and very friendly.

I cannot say enough good things about these folks. Our pug is in a wheelchair so there are some challenges in caring for him. But the staff at Bay Rivers were so wonderful and attentive to all of his needs. He didn't even want to leave when I picked him up. I cannot recommend this facility enough! We will absolutely be back.

I would never take my dog anywhere Elsa. The team truly puts passions and hard work into the care of the animals. I feel like when I leave my girl she is safe and well taken care of which is not how I have felt in other locations such as petsuites and care a lot. Don’t take our word just visit and you’ll see the true efforts that are put into the best pet care.

Bay Rivers is great, we love sending our puppy there! It makes him so happy to get to play with the other dogs and the staff takes good care of him. We will definitely be sending him back!

Under new management, Bay Rivers Boarding and Day Care is far above its competitors. I love the care and concern the staff shows the dogs. I love that my shy little girl now plays with the big boys and interacts as a dog. I love that I can trust my pup with Brandon, Alyssa, and all the staff. These people know and love dogs. If my dog could write this review, she would say this is "the bestest place ever." The staff is amazing and take amazing care of the dogs. They send the best report cards, which are very informative and thoughtful. They take the most awesome pictures and create a great atmosphere. In addition to the socialization my dog receives, she also benefits from the training they provide.

First day for my dog today. I have nothing but amazing things to say! Kylie (I believe that was her name) was super nice and helpful during check in! Explained stuff perfectly for me! The gentleman that called me at 11am was also super informative on how my baby’s evaluation for daycare went! They even let him stay the rest of the day! When pick up time rolled around, he was still outside. 💙 I could hear his little play barks! 🥰 I expected to be paying for a full day of daycare since he was there from 7am to 4:15pm but I was surprised that there was no charge since it was his eval day! They even told me that he would get a peanut butter kong over lunch for his first day and that made my heart and my husbands heart so happy! We will absolutely continue to use them for daycare and even boarding when it’s needed in the future! 💙

Wow I love these guys! From the moment I did a tour of the facility to the introductions with my pups. Their knowledge, friendliness, their interaction with our dogs has been unmatched. We have a very nervous rescue and this team took their time and allowed her to settle. Update Jan 2023: They are not at the same level as before after reopening. One of the reasons I brought my pups here is that their were knowledgeable trainers incorporated into the daycare. I mean they would take aggressive dogs. Now they can even handle my 2 boys that came for 2+ years for daycare & boarder. On evaluation they feel they can’t handle my dogs because one is missing an eye and the other is protective of his brother. They used to just separate them into different groups. They didn’t even attempt on the re-evaluation to keep them together. This only means staffing isn’t adequate and/or the training from off leash isn’t good. Either way if you used to bring your pup here know they can’t handle normal dog behavior. Disappointed they were wonderful sad to see there just no good places in the Hampton roads area. Only positive is the place is still nice & the staff were polite. I can’t say enough good things about Bay Rivers! I took my boys in for an evaluation & play day (and since have boarded them multiple nights)! The staff was knowledgeable about dogs and their interactions. They even took extra time to get my little guy settled in when he was being a little fiery and overprotective of his brother! I highly recommend them!

Bay Rivers Boarding & Daycare’s staff have done an amazing job with my dog Stella! She was very nervous and stand-offish her first few days, as she had previously been with unfamiliar dogs, but the staff were very accommodating and worked with her to help her make new furry friends. Stella now has a great time playing with other dogs of all ages and sizes. The transition I saw from the daily report cards over the course of a week of boarding and daycare was unbelievable! The daily report cards with cute pictures and videos of play time along with a description of how the day went are great! She went from trying to hide in the corner at first to now playing with the dogs while also begging for all of pets and belly rubs from the staff. The staff truly love all of the dogs there and work hard to make sure the dogs all have a good time. Stella now loves seeing all of her friends when she goes into daycare and comes home worn out ready to snuggle after a fun day of playing! Highly recommended Bay Rivers for both both Boarding and Daycare!

Jennie was a pleasure to have watch our two kitties in our home. Usually when we've been gone seven days or more, when we return home they are very chatty, as though to complain we've been away too long. Our two were relaxed and happy so having Jennie here made them feel secure. I would recommend Jennie as a caring pet sitter. We were lucky to have her. And she sent us updates as to how our babies were doing. Thanks Jennie.

Jennie really engaged with our cat. She was even available at the last minute when we needed her due to a family emergency. Reasonable rates and she puts the time in. I've used Three Monkeys about half a dozen times and will again.

This service was great. On time and my 15 year old dog loved the sitter. Not only did she walk and feed, we needed someone to spend night since we were on vacation. We will use this company again. I give A+

I chose Just Chasing Joy to keep my dog while I went out of town for a week. I was very nervous because I don’t normally leave her for that long or I leave her with family. Raquel was so reassuring and great with my sweet dog so she made me feel more comfortable. She was also very communicative and very open to answer all the questions I had. When I got back my dog was happy and even got a cute dog scarf! Highly recommend this company!

Raquel was a delight to meet and our girl Nala was well taken care of. Sorry again she got into the trash! Raquel sent daily pictures of our pup while we were away and sent along any updates if they were necessary. We are also excited to have someone so close by to help with watching Nala when we need it. I was referred to Just Chasing Joy by my super sweet co-worker and it was no shock that Raquel is equally as sweet. She took excellent care of my Little Frenchie Princess Lola and I've already requested a 2nd Boarding lol. I'm very particular of who tends to my baby and I always worry about her if it's not with family, but I was at ease and able to enjoy myself with Raquel. I didn't need to bring anything except for food. Raquel provides beds, bowls, toys and lots of love 😊 Her house is so clean! My carpet isn't as clean as hers with 1 housebroken small dog! She has a nice sized, fenced in backyard. So thankful that I found such an accomadating, personable, and kind Boarder. Thanks Raquel

I used to stress out when it came to dog boarding my pit Junno,but after finding Raquel, I never have that worry anymore! Junno hates being locked in a cage and has really bad anxiety so he seeks that connection from a person, and it’s so hard to find someone who watches pits nowadays. Raquel is so friendly and Junno just loves her. He gets so excited as soon as he sees his cage getting packed up and the car loaded. I definitely recommend her if you are looking for someone to watch your furry friend!

I recently used the services of Chasing Joy for my amazing dog Cocoa. I was a bit nervous bc the last time I used a dog sitter, my experience was far from ideal, but I'm so glad I did. The atmosphere at Ms. Raquel's house is so welcoming for pets, and you can tell that she takes pride and JOY in reference to caring for someone else's pet. She has an opened fenced in back yard where the dogs are free to run around and toys to occupy them as well. I asked her of she would mind providing me with a report of his behavior when I picked up Cocoa, and she had a Pet Report Card. Needless to say, my experience exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be using Chasing Joy in the near future!!!

I love the relationship that Raquel has with my Koda Bear. She loves him and takes care of him like I would. She sends me pictures and sometimes videos of my baby, which I think is a sweet personal touch that definitely makes her business stand out from the rest. I would recommend her to EVERYONE I know. Affordable, safe, personal, attentive, loving, responsible...the best.

I had scheduled with another pet sitter who backed out the morning of my trip. I contacted Raquel and I was able to bring my sweet dog to her within 30 mins of getting off the phone. She was very friendly and really seemed to care for my dog. When I returned it seemed like she didn't even want to come back home with me. Thanks again! Will be booking her for my next trip.

I'm very particular on who I leave my dog Zink with. However, I'm always taking vacations with my husband and before I would feel so guilty leaving him behind. However, I love how Raquel loves on Zink. When Zink is there he has a big yard to play in and she treats him like gold with having different doggie activities and including cool treats. I now feel confident in enjoying my vacation without feeling guilty for leaving him behind. She is super easy to work with and is very professional. Thank you for being Zink home away from home.

Great place to keep your dogs for vacation. We received constant updates with pictures and our dogs were freshly bathed and pooped from playing with all the other dogs when we retrieved them. Will definitely use again and would recommend to anyone who worries about their dogs on vacation!

I visited Salty Dog last week and it was a delight! I certainly look forward to taking my babies there, Owner was very nice and knowledgeable, the environment was clean. We will be back!

Great place, lots of room for the dogs, lots of very supervised playtime, and groups are made to ensure that no dog is put with a dog they don't get along with. Very accommodating, and they accept unaltered dogs! (So long as they aren't in heat of course)
