We went out of town for a long weekend and left our senior cat at home. Land and Sea Pet Care was amazing. If I could give more stars, I would! Aimee was very tentative to our cat and even brought mail in and ensured lights were kept on for him. She is also incredibly kind, along with her husband! I will definitely use them again and will recommend them to anyone in Montclair!

We LOVE Land and Sea!!! They watch all 3 of our dogs and take such good care of them. We know that our dogs are getting lots of love and special attention when Aimee comes, they get so excited to see her! It gives us such peace of mind knowing they are in good hands so we can enjoy a night out or a day trip with no worries. Aimee has taken care of our two dogs a few times now and she is fantastic! Very reliable and knowledgeable about animals. I trust her completely. Super nice and keeps us informed while we’re gone. I highly recommend Land and Sea Pet Care LLC. Aimee and Nancy think of literally everything that needs to be taken care of while you are away (even things you wouldn't think about). Aimee watched my elderly cat (23) for over a week and did a great job. She is very accommodating to you and all of your pet’s needs. She provided photos and updates every day which helped me not be as stressed leaving her.

Land and Sea is the perfect company for pet care; we have had such great experiences with them caring for our two dogs. They are so great about really getting to know your animals and keeping you updated on how they're doing while you're away, which is a huge relief when traveling. I highly recommend Land and Sea Pet Care. I used them for cat sitting when I was new to the area and didn't know anyone - they were recommended by the local moms group. I was blown away by their communication, responsiveness, and care. Each day while I was out of town, my cats got food, water, and a clean litter box, but they also got attention, brushing, playing, and a significant amount of visiting time. Both Aimee and Nancy took care of my cats, and were even able to give medication to a notoriously difficult cat! Not to mention the fact that their prices are extremely reasonable. I will definitely be using them again the next time I go out of town!

Tucked away kennel/boarding buisness in the country that is perfect for any dog. Barb the owner was so sweet and caring for and with our dog when we recently went on vacation. This buisness keeps it simple and only accepts cash or check and was so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely recommend this place to family and friends and will most definitely be using them again in the future.

What is better than one GSD? MANY MORE GSD! We first used this local kennel when we arrived in VA in 2017. They were so kind,professional, and genuine, taking good care of our new GSD pup and our older lab. We have used them recently too and were just as satisfied. Definitely recommend if you have a pup that you need to board while you’re out of town. You will have peace of mind knowing your GSD (or lab, or _ pup) is being cared for by folks that literally do this for a living.

My sitter cancelled on me. Hecctic to find a place I called here. They had spa e and my dogs spent 10 days with her. Both scared rescues we're well cared for, csme home happy and ate for her something no one else has been able to do when we are away. Highly recommend. Kind, clean family owned.

We purchased a pup over 20 years ago and she was by far the best GSD ever. Barbara is very knowledgeable when it comes to the breed.

"Snickers" fits right in. Great to know that someone (Barbara) knows how to care for GSD'S being she raises champions on the property. They have indoor a/c kennels, outside kennels, dog training and large property for dog walkings.

I know my dogs are taken care of by Tamara when they board at Quailview! I love that they can go out in the play yard to burn off energy. They can have their own bed and blankets in their run. Highly recommend!

While the owner is very welcoming I’d probably bring my dog here as a last resort. The Kennels are rather uncleanly, and the smell isn’t great. My hound was also rather dirty, nervous, jittery, and a little smelly. My hound also came back to me with little to no hair on it’s snout which is way less than she went in with.

Have never had any issues and the owner is a pleasure to deal with. Our dog is always happy and healthy each time we've picked her up after a stay!

Tamra is an awesome trainer. She works with all levels of handlers and dogs. Highly recommend for dog training and boarding.

They have a gun range on the property. The gun shots would cause anxiety in most household dogs. Makes no sense to board dogs directly next to a gun range

We’ve used this kennel for over 20 years so know it very well. Everyone here is dedicated to their work, they care deeply about each and every animal boarded here. Each dog is given the same level of care they’d give their own pets, and the staff have been very attentive to special health issues with our older dogs. We never worry about our dog’s well-being when we are traveling, knowing they are safe and sound. We’ve boarded our dogs, had them washed and groomed, even boarded our bunny! 5++stars.

I wished we lived closer to this kennel - I drive an hour and a half to bring my two large dogs to Mt. Victoria - a safe kennel run by a true animal lover. They are very reasonably priced and have provided quality care for pets in my family for over 20 years. Hallie and her staff have always treated my dogs well. Too bad more people don't actively review as every time we visit, this place has many happy customers!!

This place is great! Our dogs are well cared for and loved. Hallie is amazing and has a heart of gold :) She even takes in cats and rabbits. She makes sure everyone is fed, happy and loved. :)

The place is clean enough I guess, but my dog had a nasty infection on his head upon leaving there that the owner had covered in ointment....wasn't there when i dropped him off. Also, the owner tells me that she needs a little "extra" $ for staff...uh, if u aren't charging enough to cover staff costs then u need to update your pricing and be upfront instead of basically demanding extra money at pickup. And to top it all off- they only accept cash or check....and then took well over 30 days to cash the check. Try Ridge Kennels, they're closer to the highway and easier to deal with.

Hallie has given outstanding love and care to my dogs for over 25 years. I’m sure they have all thought they are the ones going on vacation, since each one has run at dead heat up to her door with tails wagging!

Older facility, but very clean. Your dog will not need a bath when you pick it up. The owner has decades of experience and a good person!

Highly Recommend! I have been using Fetch! for nearly eight years, and I have always been happy with their service. It is very convenient to schedule services, and the team is very responsive. Tracey, our regular sitter, does an excellent job taking care of the cat, and I always know she is well taken care of. I get updates and pictures every day. I appreciate all how easy and seamless Fetch! makes pet setting, and I definitely recommend!

We've had three walkers through the years with Fetch and they have all been excellent. We have trusted these people with the daily aspects of looking after our dog when we are at work or on travel, but the additional source of care and affection in his life these people have provided is unmatched by any other service. I had an amazing experience with Fetch! They took amazing care of my cat Tucker. I was gone for about two and a half weeks, and came home to a very happy and calm cat, a clean litter box, and a clean apartment. The sitters were responsive, punctual, and kept up with the routine I laid out for them. They also wrote detailed visit descriptions and took lots of photos that really eased my mind, as I could tell that Tucker was being taken care of properly. Also, when I ran out of litter while I was gone, a sitter was able to pick some up for me, which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend this pet sitting service, and especially Abby and Theresa, who were the two sitters looking after Tucker!

Service is really good from pet handlers. My pet handlers have each told me they are not paid well and for the money I and others pay to use this service, more money should go to the hands of the workers instead of upper management who are not involved in the ground and don’t even live in the state. Have pulled out of services and will recommend others who use this service to do the same.

Fetch! has always been a fantastic pet walking service for our high-energy pup! Tucker loves all of the walkers who come to hang out with him. We've used Fetch! for years for mid-day walks while we're at the office. Scheduling is easy and everyone is so helpful.

The coordinator never sent out my care request. Now I am scrambling to try to find other options during this holiday rush. Even after being matched with a sitter, the services provided were basic and pales in comparison to other sitters in the area.

Since we found On-Guard we can travel and have the peace of mind of knowing that Tawny will come in and take control. Our toy poodles are timid around strangers but Tawny won them over from the start. She is very dependable and always gives them special attention to keep them happy while we're away. After moving to the area about a month ago, I was nervous about finding someone to watch my dog while I was at work. We have used On-Guard Professional Pet sitting to watch our 5 year old beagle and our cat for several vacations that lasted over seven days. Tawyna (On Guard Pet Sitting) is the greatest pet sitter we've ever had. She goes above and beyond to make you feel at ease while you're away and she seriously spoils your pets. She took care of our three cats and bunny while we went out of town and they were seriously happy campers. We got a lot of awesome pictures of all our pets throughout out trip and very thorough feedback on everyone's well being. Tawnya even brought a bunch of toys for my pets to play with (one of which is still my cat's fav of all time). It's also worth noting that she's really knowledgeable on pet health and warning signs to look out for which helps put you at ease even more. Tawnya's awesome and if we still lived in the Colonial Beach area we'd be calling her all the time to take care of our pets.

I have nothing but good things to say about Tawnya from On-Guard. My wife and I are gone at work all day and she takes all the stress out of leaving our dogs at home. Tawnya is very reliable and loves our fur babies like they are her own. We even get updates and pictures every day to let us know how everything is going. I highly recommend On-Guard for anything from drop-ins to overnight stays.

This being the first time leaving our kitties with a professional pet sitter, we could not have been more happy with the service that Tawnya provided! She goes above and beyond - she took great care of our fur babies, took care of little things around the house that I forgot about and even brought toys for our puppy who had traveled with us. Finding OnGuard Petsitting/Tawny has been a Godsend! She has done a wonderful job winning over my neurotic rat terrier (Ellie) and spastic shih- tzu mix (Fritz)! She spends a lot of time with them - walking, playing, brushing, etc. If it's raining or too cold, she still finds something to occupy their time and drain some of their energy. Fritz and Ellie look forward to her visits and so do their Mom! Tawny does extra little caring things, like leaving the front porch light on, dog treats on Valentine's Day and those few dirty dishes always seem to be clean after her visit! Tawny was a blessing when I had a recent family illness - she went above and beyond the call of duty. She is more than a petsitter -- she truly cares and I am grateful to have found her!

We have been using Tawny before she opened OnGuard for pet sitting for a couple of years and she is great. Before we had found out our cat was diabetic as he was having trouble with increased hunger and using his litter to much and being lazy. Tawny had come to us with concerns and we went to the vet and found out our cat was diabetic like Tawny suspected. She not only was able to figure it out for us, but she also knows how to get his blood from his ear and knows how to give him the shot. We also have two dogs and she is very close to our pets like they are hers. She always goes beyond what is expected of her. She also knows that Chesters shots need to be 12hours apart and has no problems coming early and late for Chester. She will always be the only other person beside my husband and I to care for our pets. She is the best.

Tawnya, is great with both of my dogs. They are on strict portion controls and have to be separated when feed. She took care of everything for me for the weekend while I was gone. I got updates and pictures from her. Totally stress free.

After a few very bad experiences with Rover and dog boarders, we were desperate for an in-house option for our dog — someone professional, reliable, and kind. And thankfully, we found all of that with 4 Pets’ Sake! Each time we’ve contacted them, they’ve been so communicative and thorough — and they seem to understand all the concerns of a pet owner/homeowner, which is a huge relief. We really appreciated their interview process so we (and our pup) could meet the sitter and ensure we were all comfortable with each other. Also, they make scheduling and payment so easy, and their whole system is so modern and efficient. Their online dashboard is great to work with. We were so grateful to them when I went into labor with our baby. They were quick to respond and very flexible, which was such a relief in a very stressful situation. Oh! And we LOVE their email reports with photos after each visit! Such a nice touch that really makes us feel like our dog is being taken care of and loved in our absence. I have been using 4 Pet's Sake for a number of years now and their people are great. We have one wonderful woman, Sharon, who is the primary care taker of our cats. She is very reliable and always looks out for their health. If one of our cats is hiding, she always tracks them down to make sure all is OK. When I lived in Virginia I used another service that was not nearly as professional and responsive. These folks will call if they don't hear from you by your expected arrival time. Having 4 Pet's Sake taking care of the cats allows me to have a truly relaxing vacation.

My 3 kitties love and adore Ruth and everyone else! They make the whole process seamless and are extremely thorough and professional. Four Pets' Sake is a wonderful service. Carol, our cat sitter, is a saint. We have too many cats, and when we go out of town she cares for them cheerfully and without complaint. She leaves us a day-to-day report on who she sees and their shenanigans. Terry in the office is a gem, very pleasant to talk to and quite efficient. They've been able to serve our needs in an emergency more than once. Making reservations on the website is very convenient. I'd recommended Four Pets' Sake to anyone.

My dog Socks has impeccable boarding care & amazing walks from special people at 4 Pets' Sake! They are attentive to details in my home, and after five years; I am still blown away at how much they care about all aspects of their visit. The owner, Terri, is awesome to work with and she and Kelly have always come through for us on any last minute requests, no matter how short of notice. Yvonne is our primary dog walker and our puppies LOVE her. She takes very good care of them, with lots of love, walks and romps. They so look forward to her twice daily visits. We get a "report card" every day that tells us how our puppies were feeling, what they did on their walks, etc. We always refer to Yvonne as their second mother. She is the best and we are truly blessed that we found this company and Yvonne.

I have been using 4 Pet's Sake for many many years. I've also had the same sitter almost every time, which is nice because now my cats feel comfortable with her. The sitter also leaves very detailed notes of each visit, which is fun to read when I get back home. I have 7 cats and that's a lot of feeding, scooping and playing, so I think the price is very reasonable too. They are always quick to respond to my requests, even on short notice. I highly recommend them.

My husband and I have used Critter Sitter twice now for our four cats (including one cat who is blind and needs daily medication), and we are thrilled with the care our cats receive. We are so lucky to have found Lisa. We have been able to travel more since finding them. We don’t have to worry about or four legged babies because I know that they are well cared for. Our first time leaving our 3 pups alone for an extended time and overnight with a professional dog sitter. In the past we have used boarding as our option but the pups would come back anxious, nervous, and it would take days to get them back to thier happy selves. We are beyond happy with Critter Sitters! We recieved updates and pictures with every visit that was made. Tiffany played with them and took such amazing care of our little loved ones. She really put our concerns to rest from the moment she came in the door. If there was a rating of more stars we would happily give it. Thank you CS for loving our little family in our absence!

I am so very disappointed in Critter Sitter of VA LLC. I entrusted them with boarding my two dogs, a 22lb Schnauzer mix and a 15lb Chihuahua/Dachshund mix (Chiweenie), for 12 days at owner Lisa Stacy’s home while I was out of town. Prior to this stay both pups had boarded at Lisa’s home for one trial overnight and it seemed to work out. But this second, extended stay, was considerably different. When I dropped the pups off I provided their bedding and blankets, some toys, food, water bowls, snacks, and a 15 day supply of soft/wet food and considerably more than 15 days’ dry kibble. During their stay I would text, or message using the Precise Petcare app, occasionally asking how the pups were doing and if I could get a picture or two of them. The responses were sporadic stating “the boys are doing good” and I did get pictures on 2 days of their 12 day stay. However what I was confronted with when I picked them up and brought them home was heartbreaking and brought me to tears. The Schnauzer mix had lost 1/2 lb which for an almost two week stay away from home I believe would normally be reasonable and understandable. But the Chiweenie had lost 1.25lbs – almost a 10% weight loss in 12 days – and his poor ribs were showing! I was not advised about their weight loss while I was away and it was pretty obvious Lisa was aware of it because she stated when I picked them up that the Chiweenie was getting pretty skinny. Also, the Schnauzer mix had some wounds under his right eye that were red, puffy and crusty, obviously infected, which required cleaning and antibiotic cream when I got him home. I was not told of this injury nor do I believe Lisa was even aware of it. In addition, based on the appearance and massive size of the bowel movements of the Schnauzer mix immediately upon arriving home, I believe he had not had a recent potty break and had possibly not been eating his own food. And finally, I expected to get a bit of their food supply back since I had provided more than was really needed. I did receive 3 days’ worth of wet food but to my surprise the dry kibble container was completely empty. There was absolutely no way those two pups ate all that kibble in 12 days! And if they did eat it all, why had they lost weight? I don’t believe my pups were eating their own food exclusively or fed appropriately, nor were they monitored and attended to humanely. I was never advised of their deteriorating conditions. Yes, I did notify Lisa via email and through the Precise Petcare app of these concerns the day after I returned – three days later I have yet to receive a reply but I did receive my invoice this morning which I have paid. Needless to say, I will never be using Critter Sitter of VA LLC again nor can I in good conscience recommend their services. [pictures attached]

We've been using Critter Sitter of VA for years now! We started out with Lisa visiting our cats during the day because we both worked long hours and knew our babies needed some love. She would come over and play with them and give them the love and attention they needed. <3 Since then, we've moved away to Culpeper, but we still bring our dog (Zeus) to her to board whenever we're going out of town for the day or on vacation. Zeus absolutely loves it there and doesn't even want to go home when we go to pick him up, haha!! He has so much fun over there and we know he's in great hands getting lots of play time with the other dogs. It also makes us feel great to know that Lisa has been doing this for so long and is licensed, so we know we can trust he is in good hands. :)

Lisa was very quick to respond to my initial request as well as answering all of my questions regarding how the process works. She sent several photos and updates. I would use her again and recommend her as well!

What a relief to finally find a reliable and competent pet and house sitter! Tiffany did a great job with my cat while my dog and I went camping for 12 days. I had peace of mind and a smile from the photos she sent every day. She went above and beyond expectations when she watered my garden as well as my house plants.

I will start off by saying I like(d?) Dogtopia. Unfortunately (or fortunately), Dogtopia is franchised or owned by a large company. This location is owned by the large company. Because of this, their "ways to save money" are insanely rigid. My issue is not with the staff-- they are kind and knowledgable. My issue is with the company. Normally, a day of daycare with them is $45ish. But with a "1 day a week" plan, the plan I had, it brings it down to $40. The issue with this is the inflexibility. There was one week where their power went out after a storm. I didn't want my dogs to sit in a crate all day (and pay for it) until the power came on, so they provided me with a voucher. This voucher had to be used within 30 days, and it wasn't in place of the $40 I already spent, so I had to change my schedule around to bring them an additional day during the week. Okay... I'll take it. I cannot bring my dogs this week, so I'm out $40. There is no ability to roll over this day to another week. I cannot get a voucher. Fine, then, I'll cancel it. Not so fast-- it takes 2 weeks to "process." Which is strange, because it took them 5 minutes to put my card into the system to start charging every Monday. So, I get to continue bringing my dogs for two weeks while they "process" my cancellation, I'm out $40, and my dogs still smell like pee when I pick them up. As I said before, my issue is not with the staff, it's with the company, although, I do wish my dogs were not returned to me smelling like pee. After the mandatory two weeks, we will not be coming back.

The people at Dogtopia Woodbridge are kind, compassionate, and wonderful, and they love our pups as much as we do! They always hold fun events that pet parents enjoy, and it seems like they have fun doing them! We're so lucky to be a part of the Dogtopia family!

While my dogs love their day of play, I have recently noticed that the facility, especially the lobby smells of urine. I’ve also witnessed both of my pups smelling of urine after picking them up from a day of play. Not sure if they are using a new/different solution to clean/sanitize.

We've used this location a few times. The checkout baths have been okay but not great. We still do them because of allergies. Our dog came home ill once but has been back twice without issue. So we've always tried to roll with things and be generous and understanding. Today, my spouse missed out on a final meal with visiting family (we're military and see family once or twice a year) to go get our dog. He confirmed details with the team this morning but after arriving and waiting for our dog, the team let him know he wasn't ready and he'd need to leave and come back later...as in during the time when we're supposed to take family to the airport. We only have one car and have to move the car seat out to transport our dog so it's extra time wasted when we show up and are sent home. We basically have now lost most of the time together with family that we could have had today. And now our dog will have to wait post-bath because we can't have family miss flights. So why the review? Tried calling and couldn't get a hold of anyone. Left a voicemail but their system automatically cuts you off and hangs up on you. Really disappointed in today's experience and the grace bucket is overdrawn. We pay a premium price for boarding and in 20 years of dog ownership have never had this many issues this consistently. Again, up till now we've tried to roll with it but it's getting frustrating at this point. I hope they can do better and also fix the phone system so it doesn't hang up on vms.

Yea! Our beagle passed the meet and greet and can now go to doggie daycare. She also got washed and smells so much better. The people I encountered were so very nice and informative. When we left in the afternoon, she did not make a peep all the way home.

DOG BITE IN THEIR CARE - A MUST READ I have used this location since March 2017. My dog is 12 years old. This last visit, my dog was boarded for five days. I picked him up today and paid for the boarding. When I got him in the car I noticed that his head had lacerations. I immediately went back in and was informed that he had been hurt trying to get out of the crate - marks on his snout. Only after I then questioned the lacerations on his head that they informed me that another dog had nipped my dog. They told me the other dog was excited and that my dog did nothing wrong. They had cleaned the wounds and put Neosporin on them. Dogtopia made no attempt to notify me of the incident when it happened nor did they at the time of pick up. My little guy had two lacerations on his head and three on his nose. I am so disappointed!! They should have told me instead of letting me discover the injuries on my own. To make things worse, they refused to provide me the owner or dog information. They refused to send the shot record of the dog to the veterinarian, because it violated their privacy policy. I inquired why the owner would not consent and was told they would not ask the owner if it was alright to provide the shot record. Unbelievable!! It is not how you behave when things go well, but how well you carry yourself when they go badly.

Staff is wonderful, camera helps my anxiety, responsive, my Toby loves bubble time, and always take advance of spa service. It’s an awesome dealing to know my baby boy is safe when I’m away. Thank you Dogtopia of Woodbridge!

I am beyond disheartened by this location. I’ve been to several Dogtopia’s across the South as I have traveled a lot since getting my beloved Zuko. I understand dogs play rough and things may happen from time to time. However, if a dog is injured that should be the first thing that is said to the owner at pickup! The fact I had to go out to my car and was about to leave when I noticed a patch of fur missing from Zukos Face is absolutely unacceptable. This should not of been first noticed by me when staff are supposed to check our babies before they are brought out to us. Then when I go in to ask what happened I am basically told they have no idea and that’s he was playing pretty hard. Yes, I understand he was playing hard. I do not care about that I care that his face got hurt. I care that it was not the first thing told to me. On top of that this was my first time at this location and they didn’t even write a report card for Zuko or give me the packet to explain behaviors I may see after bringing him home. Truly I am astonished at this location. I wanted to bring Zuko here on the days where I have to go into the Office but after this. I’m not so sure. It’s not even like the mark was hard to see. It was on his dang face.

Our first play date.. the staff was wonderful and instilled confidence that Teddy was in safe hands. This was our first visit and they remembered that I had called the day before and the entire staff was very caring and kept track of all of the kids during their play date. It was a good opportunity to start socializing Teddy in a controlled environment. We will be going back. Thank you !!play date... the picture below is Teddy just after a playdate..

I know I look here for reviews of companies and services. So paying it back with Dogtopia. Discovered the company in a Google search when we first arrived in Virginia last summer and needed short notice boarding for our dog and once we had a home, some kind of weekly socialization time. Once he was screened (they ensure all dogs have their vaccinations and are vet certified healthy), he spent a month with Dogtopia Woodbridge. Since then we take him twice a week for a full day of play - he's knackered at the end of the day. The staff is always pleasant and truly love "their" dogs and we can tell he enjoys himself as well. It does cost a bit more than perhaps a home business, but my wife and I feel we are getting our money's worth with the care and attention he gets during his stay. We've boarded him since the big stay and he comes home healthy - no colds or ailments, which we've experienced before. Definitely recommend!
