As a cat parent who is always very anxious about leaving my kitties when traveling, I cannot recommend Bull City Pet Sitting enough. They have been outstanding. The online scheduling and messaging system is a breeze and makes the logistics of scheduling and keeping in touch while traveling very simple. I love getting the visit summaries and photos of every visit. During our most recent trip out of town, Jane went above and beyond with one of our cats who is very shy and remained well hidden throughout most of the trip. She really helped alleviate the worry I was experiencing during this time. It's always tough to leave your pets behind when traveling but knowing they're well taken care of helps so much.

We have used Bull City Pet Sitting twice, and have had a very good experience. My favorite part is getting updates with photos at every visit. They provide care for our older cat as well as our chickens, and we've really appreciated their professionalism and attention to detail.

Bull City Pet Sitters (BCPS) looked after our two cats while we were out of town for 12 days. Ashley came by our house 3x a day to feed, pet and play with our cats and communicated to us (by text and with pictures) each and every time regarding her visits. The cats both seem to love Ashley and this gave us great peace of mind while we were away for so long. She also did a great job of keeping the house looking clean and tidy while we were away. I would recommend BCPS, and Ashley, in particular, to anyone who needs their animals cared for while they are away from home. It will make your trip more enjoyable and, most importantly, it will really help your pets be less stressed and more comfortable while you’re away.

Bull Sitting Pet Sitting has come to the rescue many times. I travel frequently on the weekends and Bull City is always there to take care of my shy cat. My sitter has gotten my cat to come out from hiding to meet her, which is an amazing feat. They are patient with my old dog and send me updates and beautiful pictures of my babies. I have also had Melissa provide massage services for my elderly lab, suffering from arthritis. She was able to get my boy moving more freely again. Me and My Doggies LOVE Dog Tales! Bonnie and Charlie are always so excited the second we pull into the driveway. I know that they take wonderful care of our doggies. I love that they send you pictures each day, and sometimes dress our babies in costumes for Halloween or valentines day. My dogs are always so tired when they get back from playing so hard that they sleep all day. It's like a extra free day. Love this place- take your dogs here, they will be so happy.

I could not be happier with my experience. I received daily pictures of my dog out on a "nature" hike or running around having a blast every day I was gone. As other reviews said, my dog didn't want to come home. I wish I could give this gem of a place more than 5 stars. The staff care very much about the dogs.

Our beagle stayed at Dog Tales recently! We can't say enough good things - everything was attended to and our little girl had a great stay! We really like the woodsy and "country" atmosphere for the dogs and how few dogs they take at one time!

We absolutely love Dog Tales! We found them after trying several boarding places that were over-crowded and didn’t give our dog, Wanda, the attention we wanted. I can’t say enough good things about it- it’s truly a place where dogs can be dogs! Every time I get a “pupdate,” I can see my pup is so happy and well taken care of. She jumps out of the car every time we arrive and the staff truly treats her like family. Most recently, Wanda had a medical emergency during her stay that wouldn’t have been caught without the watchful eyes of the staff. Because of their attention, they were able to get her to our vet for life-saving care. They handled the situation perfectly and we truly owe them so much. The peace of mind we have during Wanda’s visits is unmatched- they are like family to us and I would recommend to anyone!

Everyone at Dog Tales is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! I've been bringing my little guy Jax here for almost 2 years now and he LOVES it. I can't say the names Mary or Sam in my house without him looking around and getting all hyped up! I take him here once a month just because I know how much he loves it and that he is so well cared for and gets actual activity and interaction time! We're at the point where I book a year out to make sure Jax will get to see all of his friends that he's made there!

Ya’ll! Dog Tales is absolutely IT. They hit 5-stars on every front. Facilities, experience, communication, and staff are all exceptional. From Remy’s first trial night, we knew we had found the place we could feel comfortable leaving him at while away. While looking for a dog boarding facility, I was most concerned about finding a place that wasn’t spread too thin and was able to give Remy the necessary attention. Dog Tale’s has a limit on the number of dogs they board at once and every staff member I interacted with seemed like they knew Remy on a deeper level. It’s clear Dog Tales staffs folks with a passion for dogs and who excel at giving them care. As we move away from Durham, truly one of the worst parts will be not having Dog Tales around to care for Remy. Thanks for all you do, Dog Tales team!!

DogTales is the bomb! My dogs love it when they go. The staff is friendly and professional. They are there for the dogs and want to make sure every dog that visits them is comfortable, relaxed, and has a good time. We just took our second pup there for the first time recently and she fit in well. They are very thorough and make sure all dogs have their vaccines and are healthy before they can stay. They will send you pics of your dog having fun, and be in touch with you right away if there is a need. The wooded area is a perfect buffer from the noises of the city and they have walking trails and large play areas so the dogs can get plenty of exercise. Mine come home ready for a long nap after going and it helps with my big dog's anxiety. Our little one loves to get her energy out and play with the other dogs. If you have to board your dog or just give them a day of fun while you're at work... Dogtales is a great place for it!

Bev rules. It’s tough finding a dogsitter for an anxious dog, but Bev has been an incredible professional from the start. This was our second time working with Bev, with her watching our dog Noodle for a week. We always felt like she respected our structure for Noodle care, and we came back to a happy and relaxed dog. She provided great pupdates (such as the included pic), and her communication was always clear and friendly. I can’t recommend her highly enough, and I’m always happy to be a referral for her.

Thank you Bev for taking excellent care of our sweet crazy girl! Bev watched our energetic young dog for one week during our wedding and 2.5 weeks during our honeymoon a couple weeks later. In addition to taking great care of our pup, she went above and beyond by making an additional visit to our home in between sittings to discuss some ideas to help our girl be more relaxed during the next pet sitting. She also left the house extremely clean with a couple nice welcome home touches, which were much appreciated. Highly recommend!

Bev has been so wonderful about taking care of our cats. One of our cats is a bit of a terror, and he requires insulin shots AND seizure medication to be administered daily. We've had a number of pet sitters tell us they can't handle that, but not Bev! She's so patient with him and we just know we'll use Bev's sitting services as long as she'll let us, haha. Bev did an amazing job staying with my 4 dogs when I was out of town. When I came home, they all seemed calm and relaxed, unlike on previous trips. Bev sent lots of updates and photos that were so cute and reassuring. The house was also spotless. Even the plants were well cared for. Kato and her team did a very thorough job learning about our cat's needs and preferences before our trip. This attention to detail paid off, as our pet sitters Ginny and Becca both went above and beyond in taking care of our little Hazel. They sent us a detailed summary of their visits twice daily, including several photos and amusing anecdotes. In addition, they took care of our home while we were away, took out trash, collected mail, etc. We would not hesitate in recommending Bone-A-Fide to any pet owner!

We have used Bone-A-Fide for bi-weekly dog walks for 7+ years. First for one dog, then with several fosters, and finally with the addition of our 2nd dog. They have always been very responsive and attentive to our dogs’ needs. They have worked with us through training challenges, occasional illness, extreme weather and even the pandemic! Loving Bond Pet Service offers an amazing service. We have used them at least 3 times for extended periods of time. I have three dogs with varying needs. I have an older dog who needs more care and medication, a very shy and skittish dog, and a very active six month old puppy. I always feel at ease leaving them with Marianne and Jenny. We absolutely love Marianne and Jenny, but most importantly, our two pups do! We have an older pit and a very energetic lab/pit mix. They take care of and love on our boys so well. We get pictures every visit and they make sure the boys are happy and healthy. What blows me away is how thoughtful they are. We have a new baby at home and Marianne saw we needed a filter to be changed, so she grabbed one we had stowed away and took care of it for us. Noone else will take the time to see that and address it - such a small thing but speaks volume of who they are. Will never use another dog sitter if they’re okay with it lol

Marianne has taken care of my cat a few times while I've been away. He can be a bit of a handful, so I need the right person who knows how to handle him. I was lucky to find Marianne; she is great with him and is always very reliable. Before my last trip out of town, he had a minor medical situation that she had no problem handling. I know that when I'm away he will be in very good hands!

We’ve used them twice now and both times have been great! Our pups are a bit high maintenance and require extra care. Our boxer mix is very skittish and they took the time for an extra visit to make home more comfortable. They do great check-in’s and give very reliable updates. We trust them with our babies and would recommend highly!

We've never used a pet sitter before but Robin was fantastic! She went out of her way to make time for us for an otherwise busy fourth of July week and worked with us on our preferred schedule. Our two cats can be a lot of work but Robin left us incredibly detailed messages of all she did, took lots of pictures, and even let us know we were almost out of something so we could pick it up before returning home! We're so thankful we can leave our pets without worry!

We have been using Pure Love Pet Sitting for the past two years and I can honestly say that our vacations and work trips are more relaxing knowing our pets are in good hands. What a wonderful experience- Robin is amazing and after this week I think my cat might like her more than me! I was nervous to leave Juniper alone for so long but after the first update I knew there would be no issues. I’ve never come home from a trip away without June being sort of grumpy at me but this time she was relaxed and very happy, like we hadn’t left at all. Robin is the best! I have a senior dog with some behavior quirks and Robin worked with me to make sure my dog was comfortable with her before sitting for my 3 day trip. This was the first time I have tried in-home sitting and it was a great success! Robin is calm, confident and loving with my dog, which I think makes a huge difference in my dog being comfortable with her. All of my instructions were followed to a T. I received a detailed written report with pictures after every visit. I loved seeing the pictures of my dog playing and snuggling with Robin; happy as a clam at home vs stressed at a kennel. Robin is a cat whisperer! My cat is afraid of everyone….except Robin. He actually greets her at the door when she comes to feed him and lets her pet him. This was the best experience I’ve had with a pet sitter! My cats are messy eaters and worse with the litter box. Robin is amazing at cleaning up everything!! He was so patient with our dog while she warmed up to him and because of his patience she was so excited to see him and play with her new friend when he came to see her every day. Lucy's Pet Care provides the BEST service and care for your pets while you are away! After knowing exactly who was coming to my home, I knew that my pets were in good hands. I was very impressed with Callie, who took care of my three dogs while I was away. She gave any medication that was needed and sent me an email update along with photos of the furry ones at the end of each day. It gave me much relief knowing that my dogs were well taken care of. When I needed additional pet sitting, it was easy to get in touch with Lucy and Callie. I came home to an incredibly clean house with very happy pups there to greet me. We recently moved to the area and had to take a short trip away. We were nervous about leaving our 3 little cats in the hands of strangers, but had to do it. Lucy Moore has done two overnight stays (Dinner 'til Dawn package) with our two dogs and cat at our home in recent weeks. We have been very pleased and don't have a single complaint. Before the overnight visits, Lucy came to our home, spent some time with our animals, and talked through their whole routine with us to make sure she understood their needs. She also uses a full online profile to keep detailed records on the animals and their routines and requirements. Lucy was very prompt in all communications with us. She even arrived a bit early the first night she stayed at our home. She was great about keeping us up to date on how all three of our animals were doing, sending us pictures and text messages throughout her stay. She left our home in perfect condition, brought our mail in, and left us a detailed note about her visit. Most importantly, she took loving and thoughtful care of our animals while we were out of town. Our older dog needs medication and she was diligent about providing this to him right on schedule. We feel very comfortable having Lucy as a guest in our home. She is an excellent and trustworthy care giver and offers very affordable services. We will unquestionably use her service again in the future, in fact we already have two additional visits scheduled in the next month. Highly recommend Lucy's Pet Care!

We are new to Durham and have just discovered Lucy's Pet Care. We were matched with Callie, who recently took care of our two kitties while we were out of town for 4 days. The service was highly professional and well thought out. They went way beyond what we had expected when we first started looking for a pet care service. Callie came to our house prior to our leaving at no extra charge to meet our cats and to discuss their routines. We got daily texts- and pictures!- about how they were doing. Extras like bringing in mail, turning lights on/off, etc. were no extra charge. Both Lucy and Callie were delightful and I would highly recommend the service.

I adopted a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy and he became available before I had anticipated he would be available. I travel for work and was in an area where I was unfamiliar with the Doggy Daycares. I was so fortunate to find Barkmore House! Hollie was extremely helpful with ensuring all our paperwork was in order and actually met with Astro (puppy) and me on a Sunday afternoon, so we could start daycare on Monday. Barkmore House has a beautiful yard and when not outside he was in a home environment. I was sent pictures every afternoon, which besides being a nicety, was how I learned that Astro loves being around big dogs. I had taken him to a dog park where we live, but he never seemed very interested in the small dog area. After seeing the pictures of him always near the big dogs, I took him to the big-dog side of the dog-park area and he has a grand time running and playing with the Labs and Golden Retrievers. If you’re in the Chapel Hill/Durham area in the need of Dog Daycare/boarding, I highly recommend you checkout Barkmore House. You will not find a more loving and personalized daycare and boarding! With the exception of two, most of these photos were shared with me from Barkmore House. Please note, the one where he is sleeping peacefully in someone’s arms, that is at Barkmore House, I don’t think you can find loving attention anywhere else!

I’ve been with the Barkmore house for at least a year now and they are wonderful! Colby is always excited to go and happy when I pick him up at the end of the day! They always send me pictures while he's in their care which gives me peace of mind while I’m working, and they are great with communication! Definitely worth reaching out if you’re looking for a trustworthy and loving environment to bring your pup :D

I moved to Durham for a psychiatric nurse practitioner residency at the Durham VA in fall of 2023. With me, I brought my precious companion, a miniature Australian shepherd named Jedi. I am so grateful for Barkmore House. It was like leaving my dog with family. I cannot say enough about the kindness and professionalism of the owners and all staff. The play area was clean and well constructed . It is bar none, the best doggie day care in Durham. I cannot sing their praises enough. I'm happy and my dog is ecstatic to go each day. We absolutely love Barkmore House! Hollie and Joe are so kind and my dog loves going there! Historically, my dog does not like to be left anywhere, and acts incredibly skittish and fearful when I try to drop him off. But that is NEVER the case with Hollie and Joe. They send me regular pictures and updates when he is there. He is a happy dog when I drop him off and a happy dog when I pick him up!! All of the pics are ones they have sent me while my pup is there - I have so many pictures from them that it was hard to choose, but this is a small sampling of what you can expect to receive. We LOVE Barkmore House!

We have been using the Barkmore House for a little while now. We love Hollie & her family. We are always at peace of mind knowing our girl is safe and sound here. We get frequent updates and quick responses! Junnu (our black lab) loves Hollie and her family. We have used the Barkmore House for both daycare & overnight stays and wouldn’t want our dog going anywhere else!

We absolutely adore Barkmore! We have left our pup Hudson with them multiples times, for 3 weeks at one point! He ends up having the best vacation of us all! Hollie is so communicative, sending pics and video updates so you can see how your pup is doing. She makes the drop off and pick up process so easy, and has transformed her entire yard into a dog’s playground. We couldn’t recommend them more if we tried! I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. Hollie and her family at the Barkmore House truly love the dogs they care for and it shows. My dog came home happy, healthy and tired after his 6 day stay. I received pictures and videos of everything from him playing with his new doggie friends to cuddling with the family in bed. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a safe alternative to a kennel.

I’m so glad we found Barkmore House! Nandor grew too fast and became really uncertain of his body. He was nervous when meeting other dogs in the large doggy daycare chains and when I brought him to meet Hollie for the first time, I knew he was going to be in good hands. It’s so comforting knowing that someone will care for him the way I would in my absence. I love being able to take him to Barkmore House for the day knowing he will play, and be loved and be exhausted when he comes home. This is the perfect daycare for us and we love the updates we get during his visits!

I was in business school for two years and had my dog stay at The Barkmore House whenever things got too hectic and it by far has been the best boarding experience we've had! Hollie and the rest of the Barkmore House crew will treat your dog like family. I couldn't recommend them more.

Holly, Joe, and team are great dog boarders and day care for dogs. They genuinely care for dogs and especially their client dogs. I really enjoy the photos, videos, and notes they provide daily to provide updates on your furry family members. Highly recommend the Barkmore House!

Rachel just watched our two Cockapoos, a female 17.5 y/o, & a 12.5 y/o male for13 days at her house while we were out of the country. My wife said it was the 1st time she never worried about the dogs while we were gone. Rachel's house is a perfect "dog oasis" a dedicated sunroof w/ furniture & slate floors, as well as a beautiful backyard for them to explore. Our older dog was so well taken of by Rachel, that we both commented that she looked "younger" after her "spa vacation". I would not hesitate to ever use Rachel again.

My little pup had the time of her life at Loving Care. I had heard from neighbors how wonderful Rachel was and about her extensive care with animals. This past week, I was able to “see” it all in action. From the moment I met her, there was instant trust and I was able to see that my pup would be in loving hands and, more importantly, she would be safe while we traveled. Rachel is attentive, organized, insured, licensed, and the list goes on and on. Also, Rachel is very cautious about the introduction of dogs to ensure there is a safe bond. Furthermore, she only has 2 guest dogs at any time. My pup was a part of her household and life which allowed her to be more comfortable while we traveled. I highly recommend Rachel and am so happy I used her for our past trip.

Rachel enabled me to enjoy my vacation without worrying about my dog and cat. Rachel took my young, extremely active dog for daily hikes, sent pictures of their adventures and sent gps generated maps so I could see what kind of fun my dog was having. My shy little kitty Slept with Rachel!! I felt totally at peace leaving my beloved pets with Rachel.

Rachel is everything she tells you she is. I came home to a happy and tired out puppy who had solid fun and adventures the whole time I was away. I was kept up to date throughout with photos and videos and notes about how things were going. I’ve never been so comfortable being away from my beloved dog and home. We love Rachel!

Our experience was wonderful ❤️Rachel’s attention to detail made me so comfortable. 3-5 mile hikes daily ( this is my routine so I was thrilled that Rachel kept it up) I home cook for Bella and usually have to precook and freeze but Rachel made her food fresh daily which saved me tons of time. Got pics and texts every day, along with personal details. Rachel uses a Whistle tag that she sent to show me Bella’s progress. The peace of mind I have knowing my girl is in capable hands no matter what comes up, along with all the love and personal attention she gets is priceless.

Love. Love. Love. We are so excited to have found such a caring professional to take care of our fur nuggets when we are away! We have a large dog with some behavioral quirks that make it difficult to find care (ie he gets kicked out of day care, lol). But Rachel used her experience and skill to win him over in the end. She stayed at our house for 5 nights and sent us updates with pictures like we asked. It is so nice to have peace of mind when we need to be away. Thanks Rachel!!

I cannot recommend Loving Care Pet Sits of Raleigh highly enough. We have never left our 14 YO miniature schnauzer with a sitter, but that has changed now! The environment Rachel creates for your pet is adaptable to be perfect for what they need. In our case, our Charley wanted to stay separate from the family pets, but try to win the humans over--both things were possible with the set up they have. She really settled in and got all the care and attention we could have wanted while we were away. This is a well run business and a loving environment for your pet.

Rachel is a reliable and caring pet sitter. She took care of our 3 cats for almost two weeks each time. Rachel sent us text messages with pictures to update us on how our cats were doing, so we were reassured that they were well taken care of. She also spent time playing with them and bringing them some toys that they were interested in. One of our cats had an accident, but Rachel cleaned everything up so it was nice to come home and not to worry about cleaning the floor after a long flight. Overall, Rachel is a trustworthy and caring pet sitter who we highly recommend.

Rachel and Loving Care Pet Sits is the absolute best! I was very hesitant to leave my 2 small dogs behind as we usually travel with them but this vacation was going to have to be without them. Hilary did a wonderful job winning over our crazy young guy, Tommy, and even managed to keep an eye on our Lucy, who spends most of her time hiding under the bed from strangers… Thank goodness I read other great reviews about Hilary and Best in Show, because I was at my wits end trying to find a new cat sitter after our long-time sitter retired. We travel regularly and boarding is hard for everyone under the best circumstances! I recently used Best In Show Pet Sitting to watch our two kitties while my family was traveling for a week, and it was such a great experience. Hillary made the process so easy, and the cats loved her. She kept us updated via text including adorable pics and videos of our babies every single day while we were gone. When your cats don't look excited to see you when you get home from vacation, then you know they like the Pet sitter! I have 2 older cats, 15 and 17, both on medication. Hillary was great! Her online scheduling system used to set up meet-and-greets/visitations is convenient and easy to use. The daily pictures and videos that she sent of my cat melted my heart. I will definitely be going to Hillary for pet sitting in the future.
