We recently boarded our six-year-old Mini golden doodle and five month old Mini Bernad doodle. Needless to say they had the absolute best time! We received daily photos of all the dogs playing. Highly recommend!

Our normal boarder was unavailable and we were referred to Pawsitively Purr-fect through the grapevine. Our dog loves other dogs but has been reactive with some other boarders, so finding a new option at the last minute was a challenge. Jacki & JR were the best we’ve worked with, no contest, and have become our new go-to for boarding & daycare. They checked his veterinary records, showed us their home setup (which was a substantial improvement compared to our previous boarder), trialed him through daycare for a couple of days, and then kept him for a full week. They kept up his requested diet, gave him plenty of playtime and rest, and sent plenty of photos and necessary updates throughout his stay. We went for boarding in a pinch and left as new clients excited to bring him back for daycare. I cannot recommend Pawsitively Purr-fect highly enough. Don’t hesitate, just go.

Not only is the owner Jacki so, so sweet and was willing to answer any and all questions I had without hesitation, but they also take the time out of their day to send photos frequently of your pets for you to see what a great time they’re having! My pup has come home happy and worn out every time she has stayed for daycare. I oftentimes feel like she misses it on the days she doesn’t go! 😂. We haven’t boarded with them yet, but have a couple of trips lined up for the summer and have full faith that Jacki and her crew will take great care of our fur baby. 10/10 recommend!

We finally found a daycare/boarding place that we can give 5 stars to! Jax absolutely LOVES going to Jackie's! As soon as we turn on her street, he is pacing the car, ready to get out and go play with his friends! Jax barks at everyone but when Jacki or JR come to the car to get him, no barking! He eagerly jumps in their arms, ready to go! The photos sent twice daily is an added bonus! Jax is our baby, and we can leave him with Jacki and JR and feel 100% comfortable! Highly recommend!!

Dropped our 1 year old lab off for Memorial Day weekend for a three day stay. Lizzy was very reluctant to go in as all the dogs were carrying on and the gentleman who took Lizzy in had to sort of force her into the kennel area. When we came to pick her up, we had to kinda force her into the car as she didn't want to leave!!!! LOL. We received numerous pictures each day and a couple of videos that reflected how well kept the dogs are in their care. They were very communicable, pleasant and we will absolutely use them any and every time we need boarding for our lab!

I was thrilled to find this pet boarding near us for a recent trip. Having a meet and greet with the owner, Jacki, to see the facility and let my dog run around put me at ease. There is a large indoor facility lined with kennels connected to a fenced yard with astroturf and toys. I like that the dogs have free reign to go inside and outside as they please all day (except a few breaks in their kennels to eat, rest, etc.) Jacki was always very responsive via text, and she sent pictures every day (usually 2-3x/day) all the dogs around the yard. My dog came home tired, but content. I will be using Pawsitively Purr-fect in the future.

Amazing!! I really have no other words for Pawsitively purr fect pet sitting. Jackie took such good care of my dog while we were gone! My fur baby is diabetic and needs insulin twice a day. We were updated multiple times a day with Autumns status. I have a hard time trusting anyone to care for her but Jackie was amazing!

My dog, Penny boarded here and had the time of her life! I loved the daily pics and knowing that she was safe and happy. We will definitely be back! Thank y’all so much!!

My two Golden Doodles absolutely love this place! My husband and I also love how they care for our dogs. When we are on the go.It’s great knowing and seeing my dogs are well taken care of is super comforting!!

A friend referred me to Pawsitively Purr-Fect and I'm so glad she did. I have a senior beagle and needed a place for him to board while on vacation. I was so impressed with the Meet and Greet process and tour. I was grateful for the fact that I was given a tour of the whole facility. It was clean and thoughtfully put together. They had nothing to hide, which made me trust them and feel comfortable about leaving my furbaby in their care. All my questions were answered thoroughly. Booking and paying for services is easy. My dog did great. While he was there, I got regular reports and photos so I knew he was having fun and well looked after. I appreciated their attention to my dog's special needs (and my worries.) All the staff I met was curious and friendly. They took excellent care of my boy and I know he will be a regular visitor now.

I love Indian Bridge Kennels. The staff are friendly and professional and the facility is clean. I also love Dawn who does the grooming services. She always gets my Yorkshire terrier looking and smelling great. My dog seems happy when I drop him off and pick him up. I also like that they offer doggie daycare, and that they post pictures of your furbabies on Facebook so you can see what they're up to while you're away.

We were nervous first timers and quickly felt comforted about our decision after speaking to the staff and seeing pictures of Daisy at play time. We will definitely bring her back!

The BEST OF THE BEST!!!! My GRANDPUPPY LOLA gets extremely excited to get dropped off and be extremely sad when I pick her up. She really loves to come to Indian Bridge and the staff is extremely friendly!!!! I could NOT have ask or find a better dog daycare/boarding place. I can definitely rest well at night knowing that my GRANDPUPPY is getting so much love from here. I promise you WILL NOT be disappointed with Indian Bridge kennels & Suites!!!!! Sophie loves the place. She is shy at first but once she starts getting all the pamper and care from the staff she just loves to be there. They take care of her making sure that she is happy and love just like she was at home. I was concerned about a good place to leave Sophie when I have to go out of town for work and this is the place. We will have another experience here soon leaving for a whole week and I know she will be in good hands. Thank you so much for all the care to our Sophie and the pictures just fill my heart with joy.

We have a 3 years old rescue who has never done will with boarding. She would often not eat and be lethargic when she came home. That was not our experience with Indian Bridge. We boarded our dog for 2 weeks this summer while we traveled to visit family and my heart was put to rest the moment we stepped in. It is a beautiful, clean facility. The front desk person was delightful. Everything about this place felt right. They take the dogs out 4 times a day, 2 of which are playtimes. They offer a military discount and they did a great job trimming my dogs nails. I highly recommend this place!

Our lab LOVES Indian Bridge. He is routinely there for boarding and daycare. It's nice to have somewhere our doggo loves to be when we are away.

Mutt gets excited about a half mile away when arriving. Tail wags, no sense that the pooch is being abandoned or left with strangers. Place is clean & professional. It gives me a peace of mind when on travel. The photos posted of reflect my earlier comments. Recommend Indian Ridge over comparable kennels that i use to use.

Have been bringing my dog for weekday daycare for about 2 weeks now. He has always been well taken care of and has a good time. Rate is very reasonable, facilities are clean, and staff are prompt and courteous.

Our dog enjoys being able to play with other dogs at Indian Bridge. She seems happy there.

We boarded our 2 dogs for 9 days. This place was amazing with them. The place is clean, the staff was kind with great customer service. Our dogs are high maintenance with some anxiety and allergy issues. They had no problems and were completely taken care of! I would recommend this place 1000 times over!

Love this kennel and doggy daycare! The owners are the kindest caring people I know. Darius and Jamie really love what they do! Our border collie Patrick has been going there for many years. He is always well loved, exercised, cared for and all his basic needs are met. We have a difficult time getting him to go home when we pick him up. Thanks you for being such a great place to board my dog.

The owners and staff at Dobe Run are awesome! They have always taken excellent care of our dogs and were extra helpful and flexible during a recent extended stay of a sick family member's dog. The facility is very clean with plenty of room for dogs to get outdoor exercise during their stay. I highly recommend Dobe Run Kennel and appreciate the excellent customer service provided by the owners and staff!

The staff is amazing and my dogs love them. They no longer offer full grooming , but still do baths. Their daycare options are great if you don't need overnight.

We take our fur baby to Dobe Run at least 3 times a year! He gets so excited when we pull in and when we walk in they know him and his tail wags and he runs to the staff! I would recommend them to every pet owner!!!!

We couldn't have been happier with Dobe Run and their daycare services! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating for our dog Hank while were on vacation in Gloucester, VA. He must of had a great time too because on the second day he jumped out of the truck and dragged me inside... Love these guys. Our high strung cocker always runs right in. They seem to spend plenty of time with the dogs and our dog never seems to mind being left, even tho he is quite happy when he gets picked up.

Generally, my dogs are anxious creatures but they always leave Dobe Run happy! I love how many "layers" of fencing they have, the facility is clean and safe, and the staff is great with my pets. I definitely recommend trusting Dobe Run with your pets!

Our dog stayed there one night and everyone and everything seemed great. Our dog goes back for a week's stay soon, we'll see how that goes. I'm hoping I will be "upgrading" my review to 5 stars after that. Very clean facility.

Don’t call Rover.. Call Sarah!!! I wish everyone were as reliable as Sarah’s team!! They are always there fur my German Shepherd and 2 kitty kats. My pets even appear younger, happier and very relaxed. My Sheppie is almost 8 and since Sarah’s team has been sitting for them, she is so playful and fun like a puppy!!! I am so grateful for all the time and attention they give.. And the pix they send!!! So creative and fabulous!!!! I feel so fortunate to have found these pet loving people!!!

Sarah and her team have been the best caretakers of our animals! We started out with one puppy and weekly walks and playdates for socialization and exercise. When we added another puppy, we added more walks and playdates. My doggies look forward to their time with Sarah, Monika and all the other excellent caregivers. The pics and commentary on their time away just makes my day!!

I cannot say enough about Sarah Sits-N-Stays! Look no further if you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies! We have been using Sarah's company since moving to Richmond in August 2022 and couldn't be happier. My partner and I have very hectic schedules, but we have never been unable to schedule a daily walk and lunch for our dog and cat (even sometimes at the last minute!). We have also used them for overnight visits during weekends we are away. We have never been concerned and always feel safe knowing Sarah's company is taking care of them. They even send pictures and updates every day summarizing their time together. Our dog Teddy is always happy (as you can see!) and well-exercised when we get home. Even our cat, who is not much of a "people person," has warmed up to the staff. We have had nothing but good experiences with all the walkers/sitters, but I would like to give a special shoutout to Madi who is our main walker. She is AMAZING and Teddy absolutely LOVES her! Seriously... look no further if you need a walker or sitter!

I have been using Sarah Sits-N-Stays for dog walking services ever since I adopted my dog last year. Sarah and all the walkers have been absolutely amazing. Sarah made sure my dog was paired with walkers who are comfortable with an energetic, young dog and my dog has gained so much confidence through her daily walks. The walkers are reliable, experienced and communicative. My dog and I are very thankful for all the help!

Could not be more pleased! I am a full time student. The walking schedule is tailored to mine and has been a lifesaver for me and my dog, Pippa! Sarah is organized and attentive—each walker sends an update and usually a picture of Pippa during walks/playtime. Everybody even gives my cat some love too! I highly recommend!

Finding Sarah Sits-N-Stays after moving to Richmond has been such a blessing for our little family! Our sitters have been so patient and understanding with our reactive dog, and always have great communication with us when we are out of town/when they are walking our dog. Tucker, our dog, now literally knows the word “Monika” and “friends” and he gets SO excited when it’s time for his walk and play time! Since then, our doggo has had wonderful adventures every week and is SO excited to see the kind, capable folks who take him along. We had a wonderful experience boarding our pups at Wingmont Kennel. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Our frenchies were well taken care of by the caring and friendly staff. Like many pet parents, our dogs are family and we will make the drive from Richmond to Wingmont for the peace of mind they provided.

Bring your dog here if you want them to socialize with other dogs in a safe way, if you want your dog to be too happy, if you want them to have too much fun in the pool, if you want them to get too healthy from exercise, and if you want them to have too much love from the employees. We love Wingmont and so do our dogs!! I’m starting to think they like it there more than at home. Haha!

I just wanted to thank Wingmont so much for taking such good care of Rj! I was so nervous about leaving him and letting someone else care for him but they did an exceptional job! They didn’t mind my calls to check in, kept me informed and are the most friendly people. Rj left there very happy and healthy! They read him, did what he was comfortable with and he enjoyed every moment. He will be visiting there again in a few months for another week stay. I highly recommend Wingmont kennels for your pets home away from home 😊

Love Wingmont! Our Weimaraner, Mei, has been coming to Wingmont for boarding since she was a puppy. The staff is always very kind, sensitive to some of her separation anxiety, and does a great job helping me to feel better about the boarding process too! It's the only place I trust to keep my dogs. It's an hour from where I live, but worth the drive.

Super happy with our experience so far. We experimented with taking our Golden, Amory, for an overnight and will definitely be taking him back for longer visits. Everyone was very cordial and they had no problem working with our schedule to let us drop off early and pick up a little late. Amory even came back to us with a cool little handkerchief adornment too. Keep up the great work guys!

Al loves it here! He loves the staff & they love him. He loves playing with the other puppies. It's the 1st time that He's willing to leave my side. We get to a certain point on the road and he knows where he's going, he stands up wags his tail and is ready to get out as if he knows the rest of the way to Wingmont! He is treated like a King! Some days I think he's not going to come home with me. I see him and he has a scarf around his neck he's prancing around and he says bye to the staff, it's adorable!

The Pet Lodge is a 5 star organization. We have boarded our two Portuguese Water Dogs with them twice over the last 4 months. During these appointments, Pet Lodge was timely with all communication. They contacted us to inform us that Christmas pictures were being taken and asked if we would like to have the girls participate. Love the compassion and professional service provided without any pressure selling. Recommend The Pet Lodge to anyone looking for a place to bring their pets that cares about your pets and you.

The pet lodge is always so sweet and kind! We started bringing our dog about a month and a half ago. My husband likes to call me a helicopter mom because i’m super picky with who I trust my dog with. I’ve heard numerous horror stories about dog daycares, and fights, etc. I have a mutual friend who brings her dog here and convinced me to try it out! I agreed and went and spoke with the staff, was shown the facility, etc. I have had 0 problems, the staff members who watch over the yard are vigilant, and paying attention at all times! Sometimes when driving in I’ll see them giving dogs corrections, playing with the dogs, giving them pets and love. I also really like that they post pictures everyday of the day prior, so you can see your dog throughout their day. My dog never wants to leave when I go pick him up and he always comes home super tired, which is great for me! 10/10 I really recommend this place.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences from the Pet Lodge in the last year Ive been taking my dog. He is a pit bull/husky mix. Super high energy, loves people and animals, but had never been with multiple dogs before. He was a bit overwhelmed the first few times he tried group play, but clearly wanted to join the other dogs. The staff worked with him and now he enjoys group play everyday and absolutely loves it. He usually goes right to sleep when we get home. He also loves all the staff and they all know him by name. Their prices are so affordable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend them enough!

I can’t say enough great things about the Pet Lodge! They always take such great care of my pup, making sure he feels like he’s home when he’s away from home. The customer service is amazing and I never have any worries leaving my dog in their care. 5 stars is an understatement! Thank you for everything you do for my pup!

The staff are really great. They seem to truly enjoy working with my dogs. Oscar is always excited for a school day. Having an on site groomer is also time saving. I have my doodle groomed during his daycare day.

My very very active mini Golden Doodle pup's first visit last week. He had a great time and he did not want to leave. After picking him up, he was soo mellow, no jumping or running throughout the house or back yard.. He was wore out, didn't even antagonize our nine year old Maltese/Shih Tzu, completely ignored her. It was a quiet evening, Kudos to the team! I dropped him off this morning for the day, I need the R&R, he couldn't wait to get inside and hang out with his new pals. A very satisfied customer.

They have taken top-notch care of my pup for a year and a half now, and have helped her through her skittish behavior. She is the happiest pup every time she plays there and comes back nice and tired!l

This facility was responsible for the DEATH of a small dog that was in their kennel. They claim a larger dog forced it's way through and bent a metal latch. If their latches can be bent, this is a huge issue! That is their responsibility for not securing every single dog! The little pup was torn up. Died instantly! I am devestated! I raised the little guy before he was adopted. I can't imagine the trauma he and his owner went through. Please do not use this facility. They WILL NOT accept responsibility! The dog that died in their care was a companion and a family member. Reviews on their Facebook page were deleted! They will remove negative reviews from their page. Caution when using this kennel!

Absolutely excellent experience. Great pricing, friendly staff, many options to git what your pet will need! They take care of our doodle very well!

BEWARE: A small dog was killed while being taken on a walk by a large dog that was in a kennel and broke out and attacked the small dog. This should not have been able to happen. The dogs should not have been walked in front of the large dogs and when the handler saw the big dog trying to break out of its enclosure someone should have screamed for help immediately and another person should have been able to get to their side and help before the big dog was able to kill the small dog. Animals are not predictable and therefore you need to take responsibility and be properly prepared for every situation.

We have been taking our two extremely high energy, somewhat reactive Australian Shepherds to KW Pet Resort for about two years. Always a pleasant experience. We had the younger, friendlier female groomed a few months back, and it came out great. Aussies need particular grooming because they have double coats. Anyway, last week we left the 2 of them there while we were on vacation and decided to try to have the older, more aggressive and reactive male groomed. We let them know that if it wasn't going well, they could give up. Let me tell you, my guy came out looking and smelling fantastic, and he is just so happy and playful! He's like a puppy all over again. I really think even his behavior has improved. I think his sister is jealous. We are definitely very happy customers!

I can not speak more highly of Janet and the staff at King William Pet Resort and Spa. Everyone is so friendly and genuinely caring. This has become Ivy’s home away from home. She loves it there and it puts my mind at ease knowing she is well cared for. She gets so excited when we arrive. I know if she was not happy and well cared for she wouldn’t be so happy to see everyone. Thank you all for all you do and your kindness. Ivy and I appreciate you all. ❤️

Don’t be fooled by the positive reviews- this business includes a “non-disparagement clause” in their initial contract. Thanks to The Consumer Review Fairness Act, this actually nullifies the contract, but a lot of people don’t realize that. We booked our two large breed dogs for 2 non consecutive weeks in July. The first week we dropped them off and heard nothing from the business, so we assumed everything was good. We picked them up, and they reeked of urine. Not just your typical kennel smell, but they smelled like they’d be laying in their own urine. We went ahead and found a new place, and called to cancel the second week. It was only then that we were told the truth. Our German shepherd barks and spins in a kennel environment. Due to the owner and staff not understanding dog behavior, they deemed both dogs “vicious” (who even uses that description anymore?!). They admitted they only cleaned the interior of the kennel when they could, due to their fear of the dogs. They also admitted the dogs soiled their blankets and on the last few days they couldn’t get the blankets out. They obviously closed them into the interior for long periods of time because they are large dogs with large bladders, and they wouldn’t typically urinate inside. The worst part of all of this was the fact that there was ZERO communication. They labeled our poor dogs as vicious and then chose to neglect them without saying a word. And they were going to do it again if we hadn’t found another place! The excuse at first was the ASSUMPTION that we wouldn’t be able to come back and get them. The next was the ASSUMPTION that we “knew our dogs were like this” and that we intended to leave them with “vicious” dogs. They continually blamed my poor dogs for the intentional neglect. They are totally incompetent and cruel. Do not board your babies here. Full disclosure they did refund our money, but it doesn’t do anything to make up for what my dogs went through.

We love this location to board our Brittany. He has plenty of play time and the staff treats him like family They are very accomodating and go out of their way to make it a fun stay.

If my pet could rate them it would be a 5! If you're looking for someone professional and down to earth to take care of your pets these are the people to call. I had my cat shaved by James and he was so patient and kind. These people care about animals and they're very good at what they do !

They were wonderful. Prices reasonable. They kept my dogs together and my cats together. My animals usually come home from boarding anxious. They were very calm, bathed, and well taken care of. Will definitely use them again.

PET OWNERS BEWARE! I called to get my Bernedoodle groomed. I was informed that the groomer had quit, but they could still give a basic groom. When we arrived, I asked for short through her body and legs leaving her tail long and the top of her head left long. Pretty basic. I dropped her off at 10 and was told she would be ready around 2, and they would call to let me know she’s ready to be picked up. Long story short, no phone call, so I showed up at the place around 3:30. I get big overly excited greetings saying she just got finished, and how great she was to work with. They brought her out, after they politely insisted I pay first. She was still wet and my baby was BUTCHERED! Her head was chopped flat, they did nothing with her ears (they were still soaking wet, and not combed), and they cut her beautiful mane tail down to look like a cat toy on the end of a stick! The so-called male groomer LIED and said she had matting in her tail. THAT WAS A LIE! I groom her constantly, she is my therapy dog. The owner then comes out from the back with the real story saying she forgot to tell the groomer. Seriously? IT GETS WORSE!: I get her home and she is completely traumatized, she cowered when I would come close to her with her brushes, and combs. (IT TOOK TWO FULL DAYS TO GET HER TRUST BACK!!!) After further inspection, I found her back left paw was cut open with trimmer blades. I discovered this when she left a trail of blood in my kitchen! It was obvious that the groomer freaked out, because he didn’t bother groomer her right two paws. HAD THEY NOT BLATANTLY LIED, I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM A SECOND CHANCE WHEN THEY HIRED A NEW GROOMER. HOWEVER, INTEGRITY IS EVERYTHING, AND THIS PLACE WAS FRESH OUT!

Janet always takes great care of my mothers two dogs, they always come home with a beautifully shaved coat and little bows on their collars. Their boarding services are affordable and Janet makes sure to keep your dog safe and honors owners wishes at all times.

My pup goes to doggie day care there a couple days a week and he loves it. It's not fancy and there is not a social calendar of planned events but the people are kind to him and he is always happy to see them. He gets lots of play time with other dogs and comes home tired and ready to relax.

This five star review is for the groomer at Pets at Play (can’t speak to daycare or boarding, as I’ve never done either). I have a 9 year old doodle and trust me, finding a groomer who is not only willing to groom your doodle but also does it well and with a good attitude (many get annoyed) is rare. I always leave happy! He does a great job and in my experience $100 for ~the works~ is affordable. So glad to have found him!

Our little dog loves boarding here. She plays with her little dog friends and gets meals on time. Grooming here is first rate. We bring her in every six weeks. There's a new groomer and he's great

My dog loves Pets at Play! I have been taking Ollie to Pets at Play for daycare, overnight boarding and grooming for over a year now. He is a sweet but sensitive dog. Pets at Play is the only dog boarding and grooming place in RVA that he enjoys going to and being at. The groomer is always very thoughtful about grooming Ollie the way I like. She called me before she groomed Ollie just to confirm she knew what I wanted from his cut. Very blessed to have Pets at Play in our lives

When I tell you my baby loves this place!!! He is a mamma's boy, if he doesn't know you he will not go near you. BUT when we come to Pets at Play he runs right through the door to the day care and grooming! He comes home tired from day care so I know he is playing and having fun!!

Only been here a few times but I am now a loyal customer! They must be doing something right, because now every time I walk my dog he tries to pull me in the direction of Pets At Play. He is so ecstatic every time we go, I am starting to bring him there just for fun in addition to out of necessity! Do note: if your dog is over 70 lbs they won’t be able to be boarded overnight due to kennel sizes, but they do wonderfully accommodating larger dogs in daycare! My pup loves Pets At Play!

Came here for their grooming services and was not disappointed! They were polite and informative when I called with questions and were super friendly in person. And they made my pup adorable! Will definitely return for future grooming services and daycare services.

My westie,, Tucker loves this place to play. I think he has a girlfriend there. They are kind, courteous and true animal lovers. This is the only place he’ll play with other dogs as he never plays outside my home with any other dogs male or female.

I booked grooming for my dog a month ago and was very clear (in writing) about his large size (~100 pounds) - they even said it was fine in writing. I drove 40 minutes to get there and as soon as I was pulling into my neighborhood after drop off, the groomer called to say that my dog was too heavy to fit on the table/a leg of the table was breaking. He made sure to mention that it was not my dog's fault at all/he was fine. He said he has been trying to get new equipment for grooming from management but they're refusing. What type of table doesn't hold 100 pounds? I drove for 2 hours total between 7:00am and 9:00am all because they couldn't provide the groomer the correct equipment to provide grooming services to my dog. It's not his fault in my opinion, but if he knew that size would be an issue, they should have let me know well in advance, as I had booked it a month ago. My dog used to go to Pets at Play about two years ago and there were not issues then (and he was around the same weight). Very disappointed in the lack of communication and lack of resources to provide grooming services. A word of advice to management: do not advertise grooming for dogs of all sizes/approve grooming for larger dogs if you cannot actually do it.

We used to be faithful Pets at Play customers for over 3 1/2 years, having taken our 4 year old since she was a puppy, and our 6 month old for a solid year at least two days a week for each. Over that time, we’ve provided them thousands of dollars in revenue, somewhere around $8k-$9k between daycare, baths and the occasional boarding. In March of 2019, we sent our older dog in for her regular daycare appointment and requested she get a bath and her nails trimmed. When we got her home, we noticed she was licking her paw quite a bit and saw one of her nails was badly damaged, split, and beginning to ooze pus. No one at Pets at Play called or told us her nail was damaged, even though they said her nails were cut. We emailed the owner with our concerns and received a call back from an employee, who specifically told me she was calling as to not cause any confusion, but they could not get their story straight. To me, it sounds like they didn’t want a paper trail of any potential responsibility. One person said the nails were cut, then the groomer said they did not need to be cut. If the nails got cut, why did no one tell us they damaged her nail? If they did not need to get cut, that obviously means you checked them all, right? And if you saw one was damaged, why were we never told? Whatever the case, our dog went to daycare just fine, but left with a badly damaged nail which required sedation and surgery the next day to the tune of $275 in vet bills. Whether our dog’s nails were cut, Pets at Play was negligent at best, and deceptive at worst in trying to conceal or claim ignorance of her injury. Finally, to add insult to injury (literally), I went into their online system that weekend to cancel the next two daycare reservations (because our dog needed to be at home to recover from surgery), and they had deleted all of her reservations for the next year without telling us. I never said anything to them, so why would they delete our standing reservations? It doesn’t seem like a good business practice to alienate loyal customers as we have been for years. The way Pets at Play treated our dog, my wife and me is no way to treat loyal customers. We’ve always enjoyed taking our dogs to Pets at Play for daycare and boarding, but I no longer have any faith in how they treat us or our dogs. We will not be returning, nor can I recommend their services.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful PETs at PLAY is! Dixie knows when I say "want to go see your friends" exactly where she is going and doesn't even look back when we hit the door! That is how I know, PETs at PLAY is the absolute BEST. Dixie has only ever stayed the night in her entire 11 years with my parents, PETs at PLAY and me. I LOVE the emailed pictures throughout the day of her literally smiling and having fun! I am particular because she is such an important part of my life and choosing a daycare and place to board seemed impossible until we experienced PETs at PLAY. Dixie's excitement when talking about, going to and spending time here is exactly why PETs at PLAY will be the only place we go!

My wife and I began using Premier at the beginning of this year. Their service has been incredible. Corgi Bob and his kitty brother Mallow have been in the most excellent of hands. Premier and its employees have always been on time and each visit comes with photos, an email about their adventures and a report about what was taken care of. Martha has been an angel when it comes to helping me fix my scheduling mistakes. I cannot rave about this company or its employees enough!!

I have used Premiere Petsitting and Dog Walking RVA 5 times and have been extremely happy with the service they provide. I always feel at ease and have “peace of mind” knowing that my 14 year old antisocial cat is well taken care of by several different pet sitters. I am always updated every day when they arrive and leave with notes as to what has been done for her and her wellbeing. I would highly recommend this company to everyone needing a reliable, good pet sitter.

Have been using Premier Pets for years and have nothing but great things to say about them. On one visit, my cat was sick and the sitter, in communication with me (in Mexico) and the the Owner, Martha Geiger, took my cat to the emergency vet after hours. Everything turned out fine.

Premiere was a great help to me with my dog EV. Their Time to Pet app is a way to keep track of visits and get a nice summary of your pet's behavior. You also get some lovely photos. The staff was always communicative and kind. I would absolutely use them again.

Martha and her team are the best! They provide such great service and peace of mind when we travel. Their communication is excellent. We love all of the pictures they send of our kitties. We've used other pet services in the past and Premiere Petsitting really goes the extra mile. I know our fur babies are in great hands while we are away! One less worry. Thank you! We were nervous about leaving our two cats for 8 days. They are very attached to us and haven't been around other people very much. Martha, the professional and compassionate owner of Premiere Petsitting, assigned cat-lover Kerensa as our main sitter. As soon as she came for the meet and greet, our worries dissipated. She was friendly and warm - we knew our kitties would be in good hands. She, along with another lovely sitter, Lillian, sent us twice daily updates with photos. It was such a relief not to worry how our kitties were doing - the reports we received put our minds at ease during our trip. Martha utilizes a mobile app for her business that makes it easy to check on your schedule, messages, and invoices. I would not hesitate to recommend Premiere Petsitting to anyone. We will definitely use Martha and her excellent team again in the future!

This was the first time I've used a pet sitting service & I was a little concerned about how my cat would handle someone else taking care of him. I needn't have worried! Katie took such great care of our fur baby that I think he was somewhat disappointed upon our return!..lol. I especially appreciated the report & pics after every visit. Many thanks to Martha who was able to accommodate my last minute request & enabled us to really relax and enjoy our vacation. Highly recommend!

Our family has been using Premiere Petsitting for years. Their portal makes scheduling and communication a breeze, and the reports from the sitters, with lots of photos, are always informative and friendly. They clearly care about the animals they are taking care of.

We hired Martha and Premiere Petsitting to watch our cats while we were on a 26 day vacation. Before we left Martha came over and took notes on all the details about care and feeding of our cats and how to gain entry to our house. We received daily email updates from Premiere including photos. In addition, they watered our plants and collected the mail. We were extremely pleased and will hire them again next month. I highly recommend them.

This was my first time boarding Lucy with Calypso. Staff gave us a tour as requested before boarding her showing all the areas with explanations of the use. We liked the concept of Lucy having her own kennel and outside run - while she is ok around other dogs, it's not her norm. She would much rather be around people - here they take the dogs on "potty break walks" and provide options for yard time (ie, a large fenced area where the dog can run free/play/do zoomies). They have several options you can add to the daily room fee to tailor the pups visit. Lucy stayed 5 days. Calypso provided a verbal and a written summary of her stay (activity level, how she ate, any noted bowel changes, what she seemed to enjoy - for Lucy it was lying in the sun on her external run). We rarely board Lucy - we take her most everywhere we travel. It's great to have a place available near home that pays good attention to her, provides her with a safe environment (ex, air conditioning, back up generators in case of a power outage, daily cleaned kennel, etc) and keeps us informed.

This was our first experience using Calypso Kennels. We will definitely be using them again. Our dogs have never been to a kennel before and having the peace of mind that they were safe and well taken care of is priceless.

I used Calypso Kennels for the first time last week. I boarded my dog Thursday -Monday. The staff was very nice and professional. The facility is maintained very well. They took very care of my dog and even gave him a bath! I plan to use them for future boarding and daycare.

I have been bringing my dogs to Four Paws for 20 years - generations of dogs - and they love it. They always eagerly run to the back and come home happy and exhausted. The staff is kind and knows my dogs which feels lovely. We use both the play school and boarding and are very happy with them!

My dog deacon absolutely loves this place! He is ecstatic to arrive at what he knows as the “fun place” and is consistently tired from playing all day when we get home. Staff are fantastic and super friendly - plus they are very reasonably priced! Can’t recommend this place enough! Thank you for providing a fun, safe, place for my dog while I’m at work!

Boomer has been coming here for almost 3 years. He loves it! He gets excited on the way to school as I call it for him. He attends weekly & on some Saturdays, yes on Saturday he will go to school & this allows me time to run errands, clean up or whatever. it’s a great break for him on the weekends. Now their play area is outside so I don’t expect boomer to be without dust or dirt on him. Picking him up reminds me of the days when I would pick up my son on Friday from daycare, dusty, happy & exhausted!! As soon as we walk in the house I pull out the dog wipes. Wipe him down, dinner & he is snoring all night & loud! This place was recommended to me by a friend who has 2 doodles & they were pleased with the care & close location to work. Boomer’s previous daycare was $40 a day! I’m sorry some of you have not had a good experience with Four Paws, however they are family owned in Mechanicsville and supporting local businesses is important. So, if your first experience with them was not what you expected, give them another chance & remember its daycare, kids & fur babies will get dirty, as long as they are happy (& in one piece) then that’s all that matters. Went in on a Saturday to do a tour for possible boarding of our dog. We were told by the gentleman at the front desk they were short staffed and to come back on Monday and the Manager would be able to give us a tour. We made a special trip on Monday, showed up at 3:10pm to be told by a girl at the front desk they only do tours from 10-2. This was not communicated to us at any point on Saturday, nor did we see it posted in the lobby. She wasn’t eventually apologetic about it. We will be finding somewhere else to board.

Four Paws has been amazing for us as first time dog owners who like to travel a few times throughout the year. Our dog loves going there and it’s clear she wants to be there when she sees us turning into the parking lot!

This is repeatedly how our, typically white, dogs have come home, soaking wet and covered in mud. We have asked the staff previously to let us know before pick up if the dogs are muddy and have authorized them to bath them under these circumstances. This not the first time and apparently the staff just walked away when we yet again brought up our dismay at how they handled it. How are you going to have a dirt play yard and send peoples pets unapologetically home like this? I’m so glad we pay to have the dogs at daycare so that we can come home and have to clean the car and give the dogs a bath with no warning.

Piper absolutely loves “playday with friends” she comes 2+ days a week for socializing and to get exercise. Piper is an Aussie and needs this stimulation. She sure gets it here at Four Paws in Ashland. The staff is friendly and very accommodating with a special need if it comes up. Great boarding experience as well. ❤️ piper & parents.

Our dog absolutely loves coming here! All we have to say is “Daycare” and she is ready to go! The staff are friendly and we are so glad to have found Four Paws!

We take both our dogs to 4 paws and they love going there to play with their friends. The staff is great and always happy to see them. We’ve also had our golden doodles stay overnight multiple times and have had a great experience.

Four paws is the best place to take your dog, whether it's for daycare or boarding. They care about each and every dog thats there and promote a great environment for the dogs to socialize, with people and other dogs. You can trust that your dog will come back happy and healthy every time. All the locations are great and Ashland is my favorite.
