Victoria and Hayden did a fantastic job of looking after my two aging kitties while I was away for two and a half weeks. I was particularly grateful to have such reliable sitters as one of my babies has reduced kidney function and needs extra attention and dietary supplements. Victoria and Hayden managed to give him a paste (which he hates and struggles to get away), and fiber powder (which he is also not super keen on and thus needs some coaxing) every day while I was away and never expressed any difficulties. At one point, Bailey was eating less than normal and they let me know and together we tried another approach to get him interested in his food again (which worked and they let me know how he was doing). Communication was good before, during and after the trip. I really appreciated Victoria and Hayden making the extra effort to arrive the day before my departure so that we could meet and go over the cats' routine together. It was immediately evident to me that they would take good care of my two kitties and look after the house, and that is exactly what they did! Not only did Victoria and Hayden do a good job cat and housing sitting, but they were also incredibly understanding when the hot water heater stopped working and we were unable to find a solution to the problem working together over the phone (indeed it ended up needing to be completely replaced!) Overall, a great experience for both the kitties and me and I hope they come back again in the future!

It was clear that Beirne has been enjoying her travels with the added bonus of being able to sit for other people’s pets. We spent a day together to show the ropes, walks and local amenities before we left. We had daily pupdates with photos and videos. Our pups looked loved and safe in their own home. We feel like we’ve won the pet and house sitter lotto with Scott. Most importantly, he’s taken great care of our much loved little dog, giving him a lot of care, affection and attention. He paid close attention when Tingsha began scratching (allergy to an insect bite) which needed vet care, with great communication with us. He even took Tingsha to his agility school class each week (great fun had by all) and to get a groom. We’ve come home to a contented and very happy dog. The house is spotless, cleaner than we left it, with fresh flowers and the bed all made up. Perfect! We had regular contact with Scott all through our five week trip and being “fellow travellers” (in all senses) enjoyed sharing lots of local travel tips and experiences as we each visited new parts of the world. We were happy to lend Scott our car and he’s been great with it, super responsible. Scott is a really terrific guy and a fabulous journalist and story teller (you must listen to his podcast about his travels, it’s a cracker). In sharing our home and trusting our beloved dog with him, we feel like we’ve made a new friend along the way. We recommend Scott without any hesitation and thank him for a wonderful experience, we’d love him to come back and see us, anytime. Thanks a bunch!

This was our first time using a pet or house sitter and the bar set by Leslie is very high! She is warm, friendly, communicative, responsible and very clean. Upon arriving, she immediately bonded with our rat terrier, Oreo, by bringing him a new frisbee (his favorite toy/activity) and throwing it for him in our backyard. Leslie has a sweet and mellow dog, Benny, who is now Oreo's new buddy! She kept my husband and I updated via texts/pictures of their daily activities, our house, and was proactive in asking questions before she left. She even dropped our dog off at the kennel for one night at the end of our trip since our flight was too late for us to get home for him! Our home was clean and had fresh flowers from our garden that she put in vases for us! Such a simple and nice touch! We have asked Leslie to come back to sit for us again for 2 weeks in August. I'd highly recommend her to take care of your pet(s) and home too!

Samara was in good communication with me during her stay. She used my car without incident. My home was left much cleaner than upon her arrival. Laura is incredible! For starters, she is a clear and considerate communicator who is reliable and trustworthy while setting up details for a sit in advance. From there... where do we start?! Laura (and her sister Stephanie, for a few days) took care of our cat & dog for a week-long sit. We were immediately at ease with both of them, and it was clear that they were excited to meet our pets and love them, and relaxed and comfortable in this role. They asked informed and curious questions about our pets, routines, and the surrounding area to set up a successful sit. When we departed, our dog hardly seemed to notice, because she was getting to know her new people! The snuggle-fest and hiking adventures that took place while we were gone resulted in happy pets who were calm and content. We received daily photos, which were heart warming, and assured us that dog hugs and cat exercise were taking place. Our dog is very affectionate, and Laura made sure that she received plenty of love while we were gone. Upon return, our home was spotless - tidy and clean (possibly cleaner than when we left, and we tried really hard!) We are games people, and Laura left us some of her favorite games to play (yay), and gifts for our pets, which were so fun to open when we got home. Everything was so thoughtful and kind. Laura is absolutely one of the top sitters we've ever had, and we are so grateful for her care. She went above and beyond basic home/pet care, and her compassion shines through in all of her communications and actions. She (and Stephanie) are welcome anytime, and we (Zora and Morris especially) hope they will come stay again!

Melissa did an AWESOME job with our 4 pets! Her personal style and communication via text, video, and pics were stellar and super comforting while we were out of town for 2 weeks. She showed up before the sit to go over instructions for the pet care and was even here when we returned (before she left for her next engagement). You would never know this was her first TH sit. She quickly earned our trust, asked for clarification when needed, and overall is just a GREAT PERSON!! Her kindness showed through in the care of each and every one of our furry babies. Thomas did an amazing job! We were very pleased with how well he was able to care for our 3 active Boston terriers. He was able to handle all 3 on a walk and feed them their special meal everyday. He even ventured out and took them to the beach which is no easy task for 3 excited dogs. Thomas did a great job communicating before and during the stay. We came home to a clean house with bedding washed. We had a handful of other pet sitters through this website and Thomas easily rates at the top of our list. Janis is absolutely the best pet sitter and home care we have had. She is a regular for us during our Christmas vacation because we totally trust her with the care of our three dogs and the management of our home. She is so good and efficient that I have already requested that she sits for us again next Christmas. Our three dogs absolutely adored her as she played fetch, took them on walks, loved and spoiled them. Management of our home was excellent. I had no concerns whatsoever as we had packages delivered and Mail that needed to be picked up. The house was in much better condition than what we left it. Neil and Anne have just sat for us for a second time, for a week. They are outstanding sitters in every way. Always punctual with communication and arrival. They both have responsible jobs and this is evident as they are both very organised. They care very much about the animals they look after. We were regularly sent updates, pictures and video clips of them, which is great to see when you are away. When we came home we were greeted by happy pets and an immaculately tidy house. We cannot recommend Neil and Anne enough. As far as we are concerned they are perfect housesitters! …...Hopefully they will come back and sit again soon!

Our dog stayed here in July with required accompanied records. He is GSD and not going to interact with strangers but other kennels stated he acts like many GS. We go to drop him off on Christmas Eve before a family trip and it was made clear that he was not welcomed. I think this kennel may be nice for other breeds, but not all GSDs. Go to Carwens- They have been the best by far for us! Now we are in a pickle. (Also, they do not seem to remember boarding him just 6 months ago) Extremely disappointed.
We love our Dixie girl and this being the only time we had her boarded the owner and staff were great. She came back smelling so fresh and clean and somewhat calmer. She must of liked the owner because she gave her a big lick. Lol. I would definitely recommend this kennel and will definitely take my Dixie again. Thank you for caring for my girl.
My dog is at this kennel 5 days a week while I'm at class. After kenneling with Sun Valley, I refuse to go anywhere else. It is a family owned business, the family and employees are super friendly and the place is always clean. They take great care of my dog and have very fare rates. My dog is let out 4-5 times a day, is fed, and always has toys and blankets along with water in his pen. Sun Valley is loving, caring, professional, and overall the best kennel around Compared to any other kennels in Crabtree/Latrobe.
I would like to thank SunValley Kennels for taking great care of Pepper while I was away. This is the first time I have used them and I could not be any happier with his stay. I read the reviews before I contacted them and I liked the fact that they responded to the negative reviews they received. I will use them again in the future and feel better about going away and leaving him.
Sun Valley Kennel does a great job of caring for my dog Frankie. We have been going there for 10 years and have always been treated well. The kennel is heated for the winter and is very clean.
Nothing fancy about this place. Dogs were kept in a dark room, nothing laid on the cement floor for them to lay on. There is a small covered area for them to run outside. But overall the area is pretty small and I don't believe there was an air conditioning for them. Dogs seemed fine when I picked them up.
Horrible place. We took our pitbull there to stay for 3 nights. Luckily he only stayed for 2 because we ended up coming home early. Picked him up and he was covered in his own feces. I don't believe they let him out the whole time he was there. All the dogs were kept in the dark. We picked our dog up at 3pm and they were all locked in the kennels in pitch black. The yard they have for dogs to play looked like the grass was not cut in months. I would never leave my dog with these people.
This place was terrible. I left my dog for a couple days. They seemed nice. I went to pick him up and his bed was soaked in urine! My dog smelled of urine! I honestly don't think they left him out the entire time he was there. These people should be investigated for neglect!
The girls at SunValley always take such good care of my little Brutty, he loves spa day! Frans years of experience and professionalism really show in her work. I would recommend them to anyone

Took great care of our pup while we were away! Clean and spacious kennels, lovely staff.
We feel our dog is in good hands while we're away. Owner is very personable, responds quickly when contacted. Everything is clean. The worries of leaving your pet are lessened knowing they are receiving great care. I would highly recommend.
Recently boarded 2 large German Shepards here. Owner is excellent in responding to texts and calls when checking on dogs, even taking photos and sending them to us. Dogs were well taken care of. Would highly recommend The Animal House for your boarding needs
