Was a perfect place to let the dogs out for a run about.

Brilliant and safe space to take your dogs , fully enclosed and water on site. My three boys love it and it's a large enough space to meet up with other families. Great if you're not confident with recall and a good place to practice it.

We left our greyhound for the first time. After doing a lot of research Laurney sounded perfect. It was even better than we expected. The staff asked questions about what would make her more comfortable, accommodated some of her unique needs, and helped to comfort us too. Every night we could see how our dog was doing through in room cameras, with a room that was set up with all her things to make her feel at home. She got to play with like minded dogs, which she doesn't have access to at home, and got lots of love and attention. When we picked her up she was groomed, happy, and confident. 100% Laurney will be her new home away from home.

Great services and lovely quarters for the dogs. The live camera during the evening was a nice touch too. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing set up! Friendly staff, dog came home fine, was happy pupper! My mum booked her dog in at the same time too, also loved it, was bathed and smelling lovely for coming home.

This weekend was the first time we had left our spaniels in kennels. Laura and the staff were fantastic keeping me up to date with how they were settling in and really listened when I was explaining the needs of my dogs and the best way to care for them. Much happier at the prospect of leaving them in kennels for my wedding in June.

Laurney Lodge is excellent, it is in an idyllic location and my dog really enjoyed his stay. They did everything to make his time there as comfortable as possible and he came back looking very healthy and happy. I highly recommend Laurney Lodge.

The best place to safely leave your dog if you're going on holidays! Have been using for few years now and can highly recommend.

Horrible experience with the owner. Extremely rude and stubborn. On the day of pickup there was a storm all over Scotland, snow over the roads and high winds over 100mph. The owner seems to think it's okay to say the roads are "drive-able" and it's "all clear" even after sending proof that there was snow on the roads the owner said it's drive-able, the owner doesn't know what type of car the other person is driving or how well they handle driving in the snow. You cannot say it's "drive-able" you have no idea what is and isn't.

My little Chi seemed to have been looked after very well in his 8 nights at the kennel. It was his first time in kennels and very timid so we were very concerned, he did come back with the runs with a little blood in his poo but he was eating and playing as normal so we have put it down to it being quite a stressful time for him being separated from us for the first time and after a couple of days it seems to be clearing up, so I don’t think this is a fault of the kennels. Would definitely use this place again.

Puppy was cold, wet and very smelly when collected. Staff had no awareness of how she’d been over the weekend which was concerning especially as it was her first stay. They couldn’t say if she had been off her food, had stomach upset etc. She was exceptionally thirsty when we got her home which makes me wonder if water was restricted. She was not walked during her stay. She had some play time with other dogs in an outside pen but these pens were not supervised at the times we dropped off and collected so I am unsure how quickly staff could respond if dogs started fighting etc. Staff were not friendly towards our puppy. She wasn’t spoken to by staff at drop off or collection. She was taken from us and placed in a holding pen from where she watched us drive away. Not ideal and upsetting for her and us. Previous kennels we’ve used with our other dogs, settled the dog in their kennel before the owner left. Do not recommend.

Could not have chosen a better place to board my 2 cairn terriers. Staff are exceptional and very experienced. Bonnie and Busicuit came home Happy and relaxed after their 8 day stay. Will definitely book again.

Boarded our dog here for 10 days. The people here have a lot of experience in dealing with all breeds of dog and clearly love their job. Our boy settled well and was well looked after. Thanks to all involved in his stay.

Friendly family run business. Lots of space. The staff are all very knowledgeable. Our dogs love the gold mix food. Clean and well taken care of grounds. The kennels have lots of space. Very reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend 👌

We put our pup into the kennels for daycare one day a week and he is treated phenomenally there! The staff are friendly and ensure he gets plenty of socialising whilst there! He doesn’t want to come home after the fun day he’s had at daycare

My dog gets so excited to go here and absolutely loves the people that looked to her. They are great for fire wood too. I cannot recommend them enough!

Fantastic kennels - I booked my wee 9 month old in for a couple of weeks and she was incredibly well taken care of. She can be nervous, as well as having some attachment issues, but the guys at Moorie Kennels were great with her, and even took her on indvidual walks to ease her nerves. :)

Anne cared for my two cats, Hector and Hugo while I was away on holiday for a week in July 2021. My cats do not like going into a cattery so having Anne visit and care for them in their own home meant that they were much more settled and content while I was away. Anne checked in with me every day to let me know how my cats were doing and she even sent me some photos of them. Anne is very professional and trustworthy and she did a wonderful job catering for my cats specific needs. I would highly recommend Anne and AW Pet Care and Dog Walking.

Anne offers a brilliant service. She has been able to help us on a regular basis and also offered her help on a few last minute occasions. She is very good with both of our boys, they even know her as auntie Anne! I would absolutely recommend Anne, she is very professional and it is very important to us that she puts our dogs security and safety first. She has also communicated exceptionally well throughout the pandemic, constantly keeping her clients up to date on the guidelines and the extra precautions she is taking to minimise the risk of Covid being spread.

Anne is very professional, capable and kind. It’s clear that she loves her job and really cares about the animals she looks after. My menagerie isn’t the easiest to handle, but Anne has taken to the task with well placed confidence. I have no reservations about leaving my pets under her care and thoroughly recommend her.

I have used AW pet services for approx 1 year. For me the most important elements of this service : 1. Anne loves my dog and my dog loves her; her time with Anne and the other dogs. 2. My dog walks with a couple of dogs - not huge pack so Anne is able to keep a good eye on the group and observe and assess any potential difficulty. 3. Her attention to security is fantastic particularly in current rise of pet theft. This is a major factor for me (and Anne) Not just in her work van - no decals that suggest she has animals, the public Facebook page has limited info, she has private page for owners. 4. Anne communicates regularly and keeps me updated : time of pick up, drop off, covid19 issues 5. Flexible. This is a very responsibly run professional business, run and operated by a woman who has a genuine love and care for the pets in her care, Anne treats them as her own, uses force free methods to get the best from them. And, always happy to offer advice and guidance when asked. I chose to keep Anne on (upped Ruby's sessions) despite working from home as the benefits of the sessions with Anne and other doggies have really helped my dogs confidence. I could not reccomended more highly. Thanks Anne.

I could not recommend Anne highly enough. She was wonderful with our two boys, Frodo and Gandalf (pet rats), and I was fully confident that they would be well cared for and loved in Anne's care.

I’ve had my 2 retrievers walked twice weekly with Active Paws since we moved to this area in 2018. They are an outstanding group of caring professionals who take as good care of my dogs as I do! My dogs are walked by Kim and they are always so excited when she arrives. They are taken on varied walks with other “pals” and by the looks of the photo updates we are provided with, they have an absolute ball! My husband and I wouldn’t be able to do the jobs we do without knowing our pets were taken care of. I don’t have to think twice about them on the days I work because I know they are in extremely capable hands. Highly recommend and 5 stars!

We left our dog coco with Mandy at active paws for 5 weeks to work on some problem behaviours such as pulling on lead, dog reactivity and being unable to settle in her crate. Having her back home after her time with Mandy has been great. We can now enjoy calm walks with coco walking by our side. She is also now fully crate trained and sleeps silently in her crate every night. Mandy also continues to provide support should we need it even now that coco is home. Can’t recommend active paws enough!

Went axe throwing. Fun activity, harder skill than we thought. But instructor Beth kept us right. Tea & coffee on site. Definitely recommend, excellent time and beautiful location.

We have used Active Paws for years and years. Mandy and her team give the best care to our two labradors. We have taken full advantage of all the pet services offered from early stages training, 1 to 1 training sessions, regular dog walking, pet sitting…the list is endless and we can’t be more happy. I would not hesitate to recommend Mandy and the team to anyone (oh and our girls don’t look back once when they go away to play with their chums!).

We were lucky enough to find Mandy when we were looking for a trainer/dog walker for our first puppy in 2018, she now looks after both our dogs every day and we know we can always rely on her and the rest of the Active Paws team. We would be lost with Active Paws, they have never let us down (even on the worst weather days) and they do everything they can to make sure our boys are looked after. Our boys love their walks and we love seeing the photos of them out with all their doggy friends. I would recommend Active Paws to anyone looking for a dog walker in the Laurencekirk area 🐕🦮🐾🐩

The Girls are absolutely fantastic always been 100% reliable never had to take time off from work Winston is going to be so sad to leave and miss his morning walks with them.

I absolutely recommend these guys! We went for the classic 6-week puppy class, and have 2 1-on-1 sessions with Mandy, and it definitely made puppyhood easier. We have a mad little springer, and knowing that we are on the right track, as well as being given some great advice and training tips made all the difference. He is still a crazy little man, but now we can see that what we teach him sinks in. The classes are based on positive training methods only, which is very important to me. Can't wait for future classes!

Fantastic! Really happy with all aspects of the service. Hugo loves Mandy and her team and he can’t wait to go out with them on walks and waits by the door for him! Great walks which engage him both physically and socially. Highly recommended.

It was a real pleasure to work with Michelle and we would highly recommend her services to anybody in the area. She pet sat our little pup George and his two furry pals, Max and Timmy, during our wedding weekend at Drumtochty Castle. Michelle is a qualified and insured dog carer, who is professional, committed and understands the needs of each pet are different. Her caring and calm nature was particularly welcomed by Timmy who can get very anxious in new surroundings and little pup George who is a little rocket full of energy. It was great having her support during those days and it gave us great peace of mind to know our dogs had company and great care. Thank you!

Fatastic place to put your pet. Wonderful friendly service, very clean and tidy, and great location for us. Our pup loves it there and there's no looking back. Once we hand him over to Nadia, he's gone. Always happy and content. Nadia spends time letting you know how the stay was and if there are any issues to be aware of. Highly recommend.

My recent experience with my Lab, Hector and his friend Ocean has been excellent. Service good, kennels clean and dogs very happy. Nadia has just taken over and I wish her all the best. Ocean is my girlfriend's Doberman & cat Nikita spent 6 weeks at a time in the kennels over the last 2 years while their owner worked offshore. Excellent reports there as well.

The new owners Nadia and Jamie are friendly and welcoming. They looked after my cat Millie fantastically over Christmas! They will even pick up and drop off too. I would recommend this especially if you are travelling on A90 as it's very convenient to drop off your pets.

I have used Cairnview Kennels for almost a year now. I was doubtful at first and was anxious how Houston would react when he gets home. I do not like leaving my baby to the kennel but due to circumstances (surgery & personal reasons) I have to board him Sometimes they keep him for 6 weeks. To my surprise, he was the same Houston as we had the first day he left. Elaine,Wendy, and Kevin have been great to deal with. I feel comfortable to leave Houston at Cairnview, as it seems he truly enjoy being there. Cairnview also walks Houston. I would highly recommend this kennel. They have treated Houston great and Houston loves to see Kevin everyday.

Thank you to the AMAZING Miller Family for taking such great care of our pup! Our fur baby has loved her holidays and would love to come and stay again.

Eileen provides the best dog care we’ve ever had in 20 years of owning dogs. She is amazing and I genuinely feel like our dog consider staying with her as his holiday for the year. It’s also been wonderful for socialising him as he has been very timid after an attack.

For 2 years we have relied on Jan to care for our cats, ducks & even our wild bird population when we are on holiday. She responds to all contact quickly and is always accommodating. Our cats got very stressed going to kennels so being able to leave them at home, in their own territory, with Jan seeing to their needs feeding, litter clearing and play has been the best option. Jan even supplies text updates during their care and leaves a note on the day you are due home so there is never any need to worry. Cannot recommend highly enough!

For 3 years we have relied on Jan to care for our 3 cats when we are on holiday. She responds to all contact quickly and is always accommodating. Jan clearly loves animals and immediately convinced us that leaving our cats at home, in their territory, and visited by Jan for feeding, litter clearing and play was the best option. We have 2 cats with medical needs - one requiring an inhaler and the other medication mixed with food daily - both managed by Jan with ease! Our third cat is shy and scared of her own shadow but Jan takes time to bond with all 3 and I know that even the shy cat gets her cuddles. Jan even supplies text updates during their care so that there is never any need to worry. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Jan’s Playful Paws provides an excellent service that we couldn’t have been without during our 2 years living in Brechin. Jan came every day, rain or shine, and our dog couldn’t have been happier or healthier going on her excellent countryside walks everyday. Jan continued her service throughout all Covid19 restrictions adhering to rules, and we decided to continue with walks 5 days a week despite working from home because it just wasn’t possible for us to offer the same enriching experience to our Fox Terrier Poodle cross - the group aspect for our dog was very helpful in keeping her well socialised as well as properly exercised. It was so nice to know that our dog felt secure in her routine and had such a fantastic time on her walks - Jan shared pictures and videos so we could see how well she got on in the group. Jan was super accommodating and also provided individual walks for our dog when she was in season. We really cannot not recommend this service enough - it’s utterly invaluable to know your dog is well looked after and getting the exercise they need. Very reasonable rates too!

Had not boarded my cat and ferrets here for a few years and was surprised to see how run down the place looked this time round. During the handover, the lady did not know what to house my 2 ferrets in or what to feed them and I was unhappy that they did not have accommodation ready for receiving them. I offered to take them through and get them set up after she also said she wasn’t used to ferrets but she declined. I did not feel confident leaving them but was dropping them off on route to my holiday and so felt committed to doing so. On return, I was advised my female ferret had passed away but was assured that there had been no problems during the stay but on returning home, my male ferret was so thin and emaciated that he was falling over and unable to stand up. I took him to the vet and they advised that he had either not been fed or had been fed the wrong thing. Very distressing experience and I would not recommend this place and will not return.

I don't even know where to start... When we dropped our cat off there was no one there to receive us, we were waiting for around 20 mins. The receptionist was cold and uninterested. A week later when we came to collect, again we were left waiting half an hour for an employee to arrive and a further 15 mins waiting for said employee to retrieve our cat (it seems like the cats are left unattended when there's no customers). We were then told to come through to the enclosure, as our cat was refusing to come out. We were shocked to see the poor conditions our cat was being held in. It was a cold concrete floor with no bed or food visible, only a dirty litter tray. There was a cat flap into the 'kennel' where any other cat could enter. Our cat had a new scar on his left cheek and broken skin on one of his paws. Our vet was certain that this was injury caused by another cat. This is not a pet resort but a pet prison! Our cat was crying out, hissing and hiding behind the door. When we got him home he was shaky, parched and starving. He didn't smell good, his coat was rough and he was lighter to pick up. We could never recommend this place and we will never return.

I've been boarding my parrot at pet resort for years I highly recommend them just picked up my parrot shes happy as every. very nice staff excellent service.Thanks again for looking after my parrot.

Very upset at how we have just been dealt with. I picked up my diabetic cat from here a day early, once I got my cat home I found out that she was soaked in cat urine. She has also lost over half a kilo in weight and may need to be admitted to the vets later today. The stories we have heard from the owner have changed repeatedly. On initial contact with the manager he said he knew she was covered in urine and was waiting for the heavy rain to stop to use grooming spray on her. Just now he claims she was wet from water she had knocked over. He left my elderly cat covered in her own urine for hours. Not only has the manager been extremely unhelpful one of the front of house staff was rude to my wife. On dropping my cat off, we were told that we needed to pay extra to have her insulin administered, the retort from the girl was “well you are paying for a 5star service”. Rude and indignant. We asked for a refund for the neglected state our cat returned in to be told that wasn’t an option. Overall I have found the whole service to be disgraceful and I would never ever recommend this place again.

We left our cats at the Aberdeen Pet Resort, Peterculter, for a week in April. When we got them home, less than a 5 minute drive, their travel carriers and blankets were covered in fur and urine. Our cats were absolutely stinking of urine too! I contacted the place immediately as I felt that they had been living in their travel carriers and using it as a litter tray too! Only to be told that they were not kept in their travel carriers and they had no idea why our cats smelt so bad! It must been the journey home, all 5 minutes of it!! DO NOT PUT YOUR BELOVED PETS HERE! This place should be closed immediately!!! Definitely not a genuine one star! I would give them nothing but closure!

I am happy to take my cat here. He has an indoor area with a shelf and a small outdoor area. It is very clean. I especially like that there are no dogs here as that stresses the cats out. Nice reception with welcoming residential cats and parrot. He always seems content when I collect him.

Reading these reviews is really upsetting. I put my cat in here a few years ago, and paid extra as it was over Xmas. When I got him back he was stinking I had to bathe him. I wonder now if he was kept in his box. I feel awful that he went through that experience. Lairshill is my go to now. They are very good.

I have used this cattery three times never any problems. The staff are really attentive they let me see the room she would be staying in. We discussed feeding options and what she liked and didnt like. We paid extra for some play time on a daily basis. Your pet will be weighed when you drop them off and again on collection which i really liked. Its a little difficult to find so put on your sat nav. Plenty parking right outside the main reception

The staff has always been friendly and helpful to me, the place appears clean and I see nothing of concern (reading the 1 star reviews). When I picked my cat up last time, my cat was hissing at me, but that's a reflection on him (he was rescued by the sspca and doesn't deal with new people or small spaces) and not the facility.

Second time our cats have stayed here as an emergency and both times they have become ill straight after. We will DEFINITELY not be leaving our cats here again...even if it is an emergency. The place stinks of cat pee as soon as you walk in,it is almost unbearable. We had emailed, agreed and paid an extra fee to drop our cats off late. Upon drop off at the agreed later time the owner decided to complain about how inconvenient late drop off times were for them and had a go at us about it..... yet it had all been agreed in writing and an extra fee paid for!!! Our advice is avoid this place. Nasty smells and awful management
